TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD TO CHANGE ALL FOUR TIRES IN UNDER 20,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,811 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 26,000.
WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT THE HANKOOK OPTIMO H725 BRAND TIRES ON MY CAR HAVE FAILED. I WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR LONG TRIPS, AND TO REPLACE THE TIRES ASAP. I HAVE 24,000 MILES ON 3 OF THE TIRES AND 16000 ON ANOTHER. I ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE ONE TIRE BECAUSE OF A SIDEWALL BUBBLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO JUMP START THE VEHICLE WHEN SHE NOTICED SPARKS COMING FROM THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE WHICH DAMAGED THE STARTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
THE DOORS, RANDOMLY, DO NOT UNLOCK. EVERY DOOR HAS HAD THIS ISSUE...RANDOMLY. THE WEATHER IS NOT THE ISSUE, THIS HAS HAPPENED IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS , VIA GOOGLE, AND I AM NOT THE FIRST TO REPORT THIS. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL FIX? THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK DOOR HAS NOT UNLOCKED FOR THREE WEEKS. TODAY THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK, CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO CLIMB OVER TO EXIT THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR...NOT SAFE. I CALLED THE DEALER, NO SURPRISE, THEY HAD HEARD OF THIS ISSUE. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, I EXPECT TO BE CHARGED, BETWEEN $400 & $1200 TO FIX A MANUFACTURES DEFECT...SO VERY WRONG! NOR WILL I BE PAYING FOR IT! AGAIN, WHAT GOOD DOES IT DO TO REPORT THIS THOUSANDS OF TIMES, WHEN THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR AT LEAST 15 YEARS, AT A COST TO THE CONSUMERS? *JS
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

2010 FORD FOCUS. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE HEAD RESTS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE HEAD REST FORCED HER TO LEAN FORWARD AND THEY COULD NOT BE ADJUSTED. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE HAD TO TURN THE HEAD REST BACKWARDS IN ORDER TO DRIVER THE VEHICLE. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT COOLANT WAS EMITTED THROUGH THE AIR CONDITIONING DUCT AND LEAKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE CAUSED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE VEHICLE. A REPRESENTATIVE WAS SENT BY THE MANUFACTURER TO INSTALL A COOLANT FAN MOTOR ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE INSTALLATION, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000. ..UPDATED 09-26-12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN COOLANT CAME OUT OF THE AIRDUCTS IT GOT ON THE CONSUMER'S FACE. WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WENT IN REVERSE. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AGAIN, THE CONSUMER HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE SEAT BELT UNBUCKLED. THE COOLANT THAT CAME OUT OF THE AIRDUCTS ALSO REACHED THE INTERIOR FLOOR AND BEHIND THE CONSOLE. OTHER ISSUES WITH VEHICLE ARE THE TIRES THAT HAVE ALWAYS LOOKED WORN, WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE, RPMS WOULD INCREASE AND ENGINE REVS, TOXIC AND BURNING WIRE ODORS, EXCESSIVE HEAT FROM THE ENGINE, METAL GRINDING SOUNDS FROM UNDER THE HOOD, VIBRATING AND ROUGH RIDING, THE TRUNK OPENS ON ITS OWN, COMPRESSING SOUND WHILE AIR CONDITION IS RUNNING, WINDOWS WERE ICING ON THE EXTERIOR OF DRIVER AND PASSENGER WINDOWS, AND RUST ON THE IGNITION. ON JUNE 22, THE MECHANIC'S WRENCH APPEARED IN THE DASHBOARD WHILE SITTING IN IDLE WITH THE GEAR SHIFT IN PARK. THE FORD MANUAL STATES THAT THE WARNING SIGN IS RELATED TO THE THROTTLE/TRANSMISSION. I TURNED THE MOTOR OFF AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE MECHANIC'S WRENCH WENT AWAY. ON JUNE 25TH, THE MECHANIC'S WRENCH APPEARED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MPH AND THE CAR STARTED TO JERK. IT WAS HARD TO KEEP IT IN THE ROAD. I DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY CODES REGISTERED IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND EVEN CHECKED ON THE FORD WEBSITE BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. I WAS TOLD TO BRING IT BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS DOES NOT HELP BECAUSE I KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG OR THE LIGHT WOULD NOT COME ON AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACT THE WAY IT HAD. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR IN FEAR OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT. FORD IS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM SINCE I HAVE SEEN MANY ONLINE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. PLEASE DON'T WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE DIES LIKE THE ISSUE THAT LOOMED AROUND THE FORD PINTO THAT CAUGHT FIRE ON IMPACT DUE TO WHERE THE GAS TANK WAS LOCATED. *JB
I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW WITH 182 MILES ON IT. I HAD ALL OF THE SERVICE PERFORMED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT (ALL-STAR FORD IN PALESTINE, TX), BEGINNING WITH THE OIL CHANGES. AT THE FIRST OIL CHANGE, I HAD THE TIRES ROTATED. AFTER THAT, I HAD THEM ROTATED AT EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE (WITHOUT EXCEPTION) AND AT 18,940 MILES, I AM TOLD THAT ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES ARE "CUPPED" ON THE INSIDE TREAD. ALL THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO DO IS SELL ME MORE TIRES AND SUGGEST THAT I HAVE THEM ROTATED AT EVERY OIL CHANGE. FOR A CAR THAT HAS LESS THAN 20,000 MILES ON IT, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. MY FIRST REACTION WAS TO PUT IT BACK INTO THE SHOWROOM! RIGHT THROUGH THE GLASS WINDOWS! BUT, I REFRAINED. NONETHELESS, THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *JS
CAR SUDDENLY WENT IN TO LIMP MODE. WAS ABLE TO LIMP TO CORLEYS FORD IN GRANTS NM. DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE BODY AT MY COST. $382 FOR THROTTLE BODY AND $327 LABOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TIRES THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN THEN ADVISED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR TIRES WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED A SECOND TIME BECAUSE AN ALIGNMENT WAS NOT PERFORMED IN TIME. ADDITIONALLY, WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN OVER AN UNEVEN ROAD SURFACE, THERE WAS A LOUD BANG COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE WEAR WAS NOT BECAUSE OF THE ALIGNMENT BUT BECAUSE OF A SAFETY DEFECT WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,754.
I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT MY DOOR LOCKS ON THE BACK OF MY CAR FOR THE LAST TWO AND A HALF TO THREE YEARS AND NO ONE LISTENS TO ME. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME AND MY GRANDCHILDREN. I CAN'T TAKE THEM WITH ME BECAUSE THE LOCKS DON'T UNLOCK. NOT A SAFE THING IF A ACCIDENT HAPPENED. COULDN'T GET ANYONE OUT OF BACK SEAT. PLEASE HELP ME. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS.
IN MEDIUM/HEAVY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, THE ENGINE SPEED BEGAN TO RISE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS COASTING (FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR) IN 3RD GEAR. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL, APPLIED THE BRAKES AND WAS ABLE TO AVOID STRIKING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, BUT THE ENGINE SPEED CONTINUED TO CLIMB. A BLIP OF THE THROTTLE EVENTUALLY HALTED THE ENGINE SPEED RISE AND THE RPMS SLOWLY RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO RUN NORMALLY FOR THE FOLLOWING COUPLE MINUTES AND I WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE FREEWAY SAFELY, STOP AND RESTART THE CAR. AFTER A QUICK EXAMINATION, I FOUND NOTHING IN THE DRIVER'S FOOTWELL THAT COULD'VE INTERFERED WITH THE PEDAL'S OPERATION. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE IN WHICH THE VEHICLE HAS ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN VOLITION. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED ON A RURAL STRETCH OF INTERSTATE. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE BY SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL, QUICKLY PULLING OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND TURNING OFF THE IGNITION. AT THE TIME I ASSUMED IT WAS A TEMPORARY MALFUNCTION WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM; THE CAR ACTED NORMALLY AFTER BEING RESTARTED. DURING THIS MOST RECENT INCIDENT, HOWEVER, THE CRUISE CONTROL WASN'T ENGAGED AT ANY TIME DURING THE TRIP.
FIRST AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK PROBLEM: THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK WILL NOT RESPOND TO FOB, INTERIOR AUTO DOOR LOCK OPENER OR MANUAL INTERVENTION. REPAIR SHOP CHECKED FUSE, BUT IT WAS OK. LATER THAT DAY THE LOCK BEGAN TO WORK. A FEW DAYS LATER IT STOPPED WORKING AND HAS NOT WORKED SINCE. DOOR IS UNUSABLE BECAUSE IT IS LOCKED. SECOND AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK PROBLEM: THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK STOPPED LOCKING. WON'T RESPOND TO FOB, INTERIOR AUTO DOOR LOCK OPENER OR MANUAL INTERVENTION. DOOR CAN NOT BE LOCKED. THIRD AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK PROBLEM: PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WON'T UNLOCK USING FOB, INTERIOR AUTO DOOR LOCK OPENER. MANUAL INTERVENTION USING INSIDE DOOR HANDLE OPENS THE DOOR. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID DEPLOY AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SHUT OFF NOR SHIFTED INTO PARK FOLLOWING THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY WHO RULED THE VEHICLE AS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE IGNITION WIRES HAD TO BE CUT TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,648.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE DOORS COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, HE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON CRASH AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE AUTOMATIC SWITCH FAILED SINCE THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AFTER THE CRASH. THE CONTACT DID NOT FILE A POLICE REPORT AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
The contacts mother owns a 2010 Ford Focus. The contact stated while her mother attempted to park, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle violently accelerated on its own without warning. As a result, the contact crashed into a satellite pole. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries reported. A police report was not filed. The driver was able to reverse the vehicle and park into the parking spot, however the contact stated the failure reoccurred sporadically several times after the crash. The driver took the vehicle to a local dealer to have the vehicle inspected, however the dealer was not able to duplicate the failure. A few months later and the failure reoccurred again and the driver took the vehicle back to the dealer where the dealer repaired and replaced the throttle body control module on the vehicle, but the failure persisted after the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

WE REPAIRED THIS CAR IN MARCH AND FORD MOTOR CO HAS A AIR BAG SENSOR STILL ON BACK ORDER.THE CUSTOMER IS DRIVING THIS CAR WITH THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON AND WE ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THIS AND SO IS THE CUSTOMER. 2010 FORD FOCUS DRIVER'S FRONT BRAKE PAD COMPLETELY WORN AWAY PRIOR TO 18,000 MILES, TOOK IN FOR WARRANTY COVERAGE AND TOLD IF THE CALIPUR WAS BAD IT WOULD BE REPLACED PER WARRANTY. FORD TECH STATED CALIPER WAS STICKING BUT I WAS OVER THE 18,000 MILE TIMEFRAME FOR MAINTENANCE ISSUES. I CONTACTED SEVERAL INDEPENDANT BRAKE COMPANIES AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THE BRAKES TO FAIL AT THAT MILEAGE AND AGE. FORD WANTED TO CHARGE ALMOST $500 FOR REPAIR. TOOK TO ANOTHER INDEPENDANT BRAKE SERVICE PLACE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CALIPER IS STICKING, HAD TO REPLACE DRIVER'S FRONT BRAKE PAD AS IT WAS WORN METAL TO METAL AND DID DAMAGE TO THE ROTOR. NO WARNING THAT BRAKES WERE GOING BAD UNTIL THE PAD WAS COMPLETELY WORN AWAY AT WHICH TIME I CONTACTED FORD AND TOOK IT IN. FORD REFUSED TO RECOGIZE IT WAS A DEFECT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WHEN HE CRASHED INTO A DEER. THE IMPACT CAUSED THE ROOF TO DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE ROOF SHOULD HAVE BEEN WELDED MUCH MORE SECURELY THAN WHAT IT WAS. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. OUR TEENAGE DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS VEHICLE AND WE ARE CONCERNED FOR HER WELL-BEING OF BEING ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE FOR ANY REASON (ACCIDENT, FIRE, AND INCONVENIENCE). BOTH TIRES ON BACK CUPPED AND I WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT IT WAS BECAUSE I DID NOT ROTATE THEM. I HAD TO BUY TIRES AND ALSO PAY FOR ALIGNMENT. NOW AT 56251 MILES IT DID IT AGAIN. TOOK IT TO DEALER AGAIN AND NOW THEY DAY IT NEEDS A REAR ADJUSTMENT KIT THAT COST $240.00 DOLLARS AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THE SERVICE CONSULTANT SAID IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT BUT FORD SAYS IT ISN'T AND THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR IT. ALSO I TOOK IT IN BECAUSE IT MAKES A LOUD THUMP WHEN I HIT A BUMP. I TOLD THEM IT SOUNDS LIKE SHOCKS ARE BAD BUT THEY SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH CAR.
I WAS LOCKED IN MY OWN CAR! THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK. I TRIED THE INSIDE DOOR LATCH, THE OUTSIDE DOOR LATCH, KEY FOB, AND EVEN TRIED TO UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FROM THE OUTSIDE. I HAD FRIENDS TRYING TO HELP ME GET THE DOOR UNLOCKED, WITH NO LUCK. I HAD TO CRAWL OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. AFTER LETTING THE CAR SIT OF OVER AN HOUR, THE DOOR WOULD FINALLY UNLOCK. THE DEALER IS SAYING IT IS THE ACTUATOR MOTOR GOING OUT, COST FOR THE MOTOR ALONE IS $400. THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE LABOR TO INSTALL IT. I THINK IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT AN ELECTRICAL MOTOR WOULD GO OUT WITH ONLY 38000 MILES ON IT. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, THERE MOST CERTAINLY SHOULD BE A RECALL. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 9/1/2011 AT ABOUT 3:00 PM. TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AND WEATHER WAS DRY AND SUNNY. WE HAD BEEN DRIVING ABOUT 3 TO 4 HOURS WHEN THE PROBLEM BEGAN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF DRIVERS DOOR LOCK FAILS AND DRIVER NEEDS EMERGENCY EXIT OF VEHICLE, DRIVER COULD NOT EXIT. WE ALSO OWN A 2010 FORD FUSION WITH APPROXIMATELY SAME MILEAGE AND HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR ITS 60K SERVICE AT APPROX 62K. ALL WAS OK. ABOUT 2 DAYS LATER I NOTICED A FUNNY SMELL IN THE CABIN. I PUT IT DOWN TO WHATEVER CHEMICALS THEY USED ON THE 60K SERVICE. ABOUT 3 DAYS LATER THE SMELL WAS GETTING WORSE, BUT ALSO THE AC WASN'T COOLING LIKE IT USED TO AND MY THEN 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER PASSED OUT IN THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE SMELL. I HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM AS COMPLAINT FILED ODI10307817. I WOULD HAVE A LOUD NOISE LIKE THE CAR SUSPENSION WAS BOTTOMING OUT WHEN GOING OVER MODERATE BUMPS. I ALSO HAD EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR ON FRONT TIRES AT ONLY 32000 MILES, FRONT TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED. FORD SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM OF BOTTOMING OUT AFTER MUCH COMPLAINING FORD FINALLY FIXED EVERYTHING BUT SAID THE FRONT END WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT. WHEN ASKED WHAT WAS DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUBFRAME HAD TO BE ADJUSTED AND BECAUSE OF THAT AN ALIGNMENT HAD TO BE PERFORMED. 2010 FORD FOCUS WAS HAVING ROUGH IDLING WHILE STOPPED AND THE CAR BEING ON AND ON PARK. TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY, THE SUPPOSEDLY CHECKED AND FIXED IT. IT STOPPED DOING THAT FOR A FEW DAYS THEN IT STARTED BACK AGAIN WITHIN A WEEK I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR A DAY AND A HALF AND WHEN THEY RETURNED IT THEY DIDN'T SAY WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT THEY JUST CLEANED OUT THE THROTTLE AS PER THE PAPERWORK THE GAVE ME. THEN ABOUT A WEEK LATER I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE GAS PEDAL (ACCELERATION) STOPPED WORKING AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON! IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY PEOPLE REALLY DON'T PAY ATTENTION ON THE FREEWAY I ALMOST GOT REARENDED. SO I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AT ALMOST 10PM SATURDAY NIGHT. COME MONDAY AFTERNOON THEY WANTED TO RELEASE THE CAR BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I TOLD THEM THERE IS NO WAY I AM TAKING THE CAR BACK. A CAR DOESN'T STOP WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY FOR NO REASON NOW COME WED. STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING AS OF YET!!!! *TR
BOUGHT USED 2010 FORD FOCUS IN FEBRUARY. HAD NO PROBLEM FOR THE FIRST 3 MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS HAVING ISSUES. THE CAR STARTED PULLING TO THE RIGHT TOO MUCH, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR, THEY SAID ITS NORMAL FOR THE "SLIGHT" PULLING TO THE RIGHT AS IT'S THE ROAD AND NOT THE CAR (TIRE PRESSURE WAS ALL IN RANGE), SO THEY SENT ME HOME. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH NO ANSWER. TWO WEEKS AFTER, I WAS HAVING STEERING WHEEL PROBLEMS. IT WOULD SHAKE("RATTLE") WHEN COMING TO A STOP(BREAKING) AND WHEN I WAS DRIVING OVER 45 MPH. SAME DEALERSHIP RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AS WELL AS TEST DRIVE,FOUND NOTHING WAS WRONG, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR 3 MONTHS WITH NO FIXES. I TOOK IT TO A FORD CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP, THEY FOUND NOTHING THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO HELP ME FURTHER. I AM ALSO HAVING AN A/C ISSUE, IT IS NOT COOLING AT MAX AND IS EMITTING A FOUL ODOR AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE ON. DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE CABIN FILTERS AND COOLING LIQUIDS, ALL WAS CLEAN AND FULL - OFFERED TO DO A "SPRAY" TO TRY AND ELIMINATE THE ODOR,BUT DID NOT WANT TO PROCEED WITH THAT OPTION.. MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS WITH THE CAR NOT ACCELERATING WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL AND ALSO KEEPS ROLLING FORWARD AFTER APPLYING BREAKS AND WHEN AT A STOP. THIS IS A RECENT ISSUE WITHIN THE PAST MONTH. I WILL PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN COMING TO A STOP, BUT HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL ALMOST DOWN TO THE FLOOR TO MAKE IT STOP COMPLETELY. I HAVE HAD CLOSE-CALLS WITH RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. ALSO WHEN I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL UNEXPECTEDLY "KICK" AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD, THUS CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO PUT EVEN MORE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES TO MAKE IT STOP. ALONG SIDE THAT ISSUE IS WITH MY ACCELERATOR. I WILL APPLY THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND WILL GIVE A FEW KICKS IF I PRESS IT DOWN ON IT MORE TO MAKE IT ACCELERATE. NO FIXES. ONGOING ISSUE OVER A MONTH. *TR
NOISES COMING FROM TRANSMISSION.....SOUNDS LIKE GEARS POSSIBLY GRINDING A BIT? HAD DEALER CHECK OUT PROBLEM, SAID FORD CO. WAS AWARE OF NOISES BUT MAY WAIT TILL FURTHER COMPLAINTS COME IN. DEALER TOLD ME TO CALL OR COME BACK IF GETS WORSE..ITS GETTING WORSE. CAR IS ABOUT 2 MONTHS OLD WITH 1800 MILES ON IT, 4 SPEED AUTO TRANNY. NOISE IS MOST PROMINENT WHILE GOING OVER BUMPS AND ACCELERATING AND STOPPING AND ACCELERATING. *TR
