Today, I took my Ford Focus in for service(05/25/2022). I had the oil changed and my vehicle tires rotated.While the service was being performed,I was informed my tire lug nuts were loose and defective in most cases.My advisor told me I should replaced all the lug nuts for safety as she knew of a Ford recall involving the lug nuts. I discovered there was no recall,but there was a class- action lawsuit that was dismissed in 2019.I looked at the old lugs and decided to not keep them on the vehicle and had new ones installed.I have the old lugs nuts for inspection if needed.I do not want to take a chance on my vehicle safety,so that is why I had them replaced.
Three out of four 215/45/r17 Douglas tires bought at Walmart in Piqua oho ended up with bubbles on the sidewall a week after the year from the day they were bought. one right after the other. When i went to have them replaced at a discounted price, i could not because i had to put a spare tire on (it is considerably smaller) causing the tread on one tire to be slightly uneven from the others. so this voided the warranty. Now tell me how passenger side and driver side front tires both end up with sidewall bubbles and one blows out within a week apart? Nothing changed in my driving routine. Bought two nearly new tires to maintain my ability to get around, and a third tire develops a bubble and had to be replaced. The last tire is slowly leaking!? i drive to work and back. I live less than 2 mins from my place of employment. i do still have my paperwork from buying the tires. btw the warranty was never registered correctly because when i tried to call about it they had no idea where to find it. i had to send all sorts of paperwork to them and still got no results.
I WAS TOLD BY FORD DEALER MECHANIC I HAD BAD LUG NUTS BECAUSE THEY SWELLED AND THEIR WRENCHES COULD NOT FIT THEM. HE SAID I NEEDED ALL OF THEM REPLACED FOR SAFETY SAKE. A MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE INNER SIDEWALLS ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS WERE SPLITTING (AS IF ALONG THE SEAMS) ON THE GOODYEAR WEATHERHANDLER 215/45R17. THE TIRES WERE FIXED BEFORE ANY BLOWOUT OCCURRED, BUT GOODYEAR REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. THREE SEPARATE MECHANICS FROM DIFFERENT GARAGES HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT, AND CONFIRMED THAT IT DID NOT OCCUR FROM DAILY WEAR AND TEAR.

I PURCHASED GOODYEAR ASSURANCE 215/45R17 TIRES 03/19/2013 DOT M763 JULR 3412 FOR MY 2010 FORD FOCUS VIN# [XXX] AT 32,436 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. AT 69,914 MILES ON 9/29/15, THE LEFT REAR TIRE WENT FLAT. INSPECTION OF THE TIRE REVELED SIDE WALL SEPARATION FROM THE CARCASS WHICH APPEARS DUE TO DRY ROT. INSPECTION OF THE OTHER TIRES ALSO HAD SIGNS DRY ROT. I HAVE RETAINED 2 OF THE 4 TIRES FOR ANALYSIS AND INSPECTION SHOULD YOUR ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT WANT FOR FURTHER ANALYSIS. I WILL KEEP THEM ON HAND FOR 2 MONTHS FROM DATE OF THIS LETTER. I FILED THIS COMPLAINT DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS OF THE TIRE. LEFT FRONT TIRES CONTINUE TO WEAR EXCESSIVELY ON THE INSIDE OF THE TREAD. I HAVE HAD THE ALIGNMENT CHECKED, AND EVERYTHING IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. I ROTATED TIRES AS SHOWN IN OWNER'S MANUAL. TIRES ROTATED FRONT TO BACK, BACK TO FRONT. THE LEFT FRONT WEARS THE INSIDE OF THE TREAD; THE TIRE ON THE LEFT REAR STOPS WEARING, ONCE PLACED ON THE BACK. ALIGNMENT SHOP SAYS THAT ALIGNMENT IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS, AND PROVIDES A PRINT-OUT SHOWING THE READINGS. VEHICLE TRACKS STRAIGHT AND TURNS APPROPRIATELY. I WILL WEAR OUT THE TWO LEFT TIRES BEFORE 30,000 MILES, WHILE THE RIGHT SIDE TIRES SHOW LITTLE WEAR FOR THE MILEAGE. *TR

I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW WITH 182 MILES ON IT. I HAD ALL OF THE SERVICE PERFORMED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT (ALL-STAR FORD IN PALESTINE, TX), BEGINNING WITH THE OIL CHANGES. AT THE FIRST OIL CHANGE, I HAD THE TIRES ROTATED. AFTER THAT, I HAD THEM ROTATED AT EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE (WITHOUT EXCEPTION) AND AT 18,940 MILES, I AM TOLD THAT ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES ARE "CUPPED" ON THE INSIDE TREAD. ALL THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO DO IS SELL ME MORE TIRES AND SUGGEST THAT I HAVE THEM ROTATED AT EVERY OIL CHANGE. FOR A CAR THAT HAS LESS THAN 20,000 MILES ON IT, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. MY FIRST REACTION WAS TO PUT IT BACK INTO THE SHOWROOM! RIGHT THROUGH THE GLASS WINDOWS! BUT, I REFRAINED. NONETHELESS, THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *JS

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 850 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,400.
