I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE OCTOBER 14,2020 FROM DAY ONE EVERY TIME, I PUT GAS IN IT, IT STALLED TO CRANK AND YOU COULD SMELL A ROTTEN EGG SMELL. I WOULD HAVE TO SIT AND WAIT AND PRESS THE GAS NUMEROUS OF TIMES BEFORE THE CAR STARTED. MY DRIVER SIDE BACK DOOR CAME FLYING OPEN THE SAME DAY AND WOULD NOT LATCH BACK TO CLOSE. HERE IT IS NOVEMBER 28, 2020 MY CAR STARTS SMOKING REALLY BAD AND NOW WON'T EVEN CRANK UP TO DRIVE. I PAID 4,056 CASH FOR A CAR I CAN'T EVEN ENJOY.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN 2018 AND HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION. IN RELATION TO THE FAULTY DPS6 POWERSHIFT DUAL-CLUTCH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, 2012-2016 FOCUS SEDANS AND HATCHBACKS WERE AFFECTED. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES TO FIX THIS ISSUE, WITH NO SUCH LUCK. I WAS TOLD THAT I CAN EXPECT THE TRANSMISSION TO CONTINUE WITH THE SHUDDERING, HESITATION WHILE DOWNSHIFTING, HESITATION WHILE ACCELERATING, STALLING, SLIPPING, BUCKING, JERKING. I SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM AS WELL, AND THEY DIRECTED ME TO FORD. NOW, THE TRANSMISSION HAS GONE COMPLETELY OUT AND THE CAR IS NO LONGER DRIVABLE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND GOT THE WARNING THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS OVERHEATING AND IT NEEDS SERVICE. I SPOKE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, HOWEVER, IN ORDER TO HAVE THE CAR LOOKED AT TO SEE IF IT IS COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY OR RECALL, I NEED TO PAY THE SHOP FEES TO GET IT DIAGNOSED. NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE, AND NOW I DO NOT HAVE A VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 70 MILES PER HOUR, AND THE CAR SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN WHILE I WAS STEPPING ON THE GAS, UNTIL IT STOPPED AND THEN CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF I-40, WHILE OTHER CARS SPED BY ME SWERVING OUT OF THE WAY IN ORDER TO NOT CRASH INTO ME FROM BEHIND. I THEN TOOK THE 2012 FORD FOCUS SE TO MY MECHANIC, AND AFTER HE INVESTIGATED THE MALFUNCTION, HE SAID HE OBSERVED THE GAS TANK OF THE CAR "BREATHING IN AND OUT LIKE A DIAPHRAGM OR A LUNG" DUE TO AN EXCESSIVE VACUUM, WHICH HE THOUGHT HAD ALSO DAMAGED OTHER PARTS OF THE FUEL SYSTEM BEYOND JUST NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME TO TAKE THE FORD FOCUS TO A FORD DEALERSHIP RIGHT AWAY, BECAUSE A FUEL TANK MOVING IN THAT WAY CAUSES FISSURE CRACKS TO DEVELOP INSIDE OF IT THAT COULD CAUSE A TANK TO LEAK GASOLINE OR RUPTURE DURING A CRASH, POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN EXPLOSION. THE MECHANIC ALSO TOLD ME HE COULD NOT IMAGINE THAT THE FORD DEALERSHIP WOULDN'T REMOVE AND THEN REPLACE THE FUEL TANK ON MY CAR, BECAUSE NOT DOING SO IN HIS OPINION WOULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP LOCATED AT: 2807 EAST MILLBROOK ROAD, RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA, 27604 - PHONE NUMBER: (984)232-7601, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT LOOKED FINE TO THEM, AND THAT THE CAR DOOR HINGES WERE ALSO UNDER RECALL AND THEY WEREN'T GOING TO REPLACE THOSE EITHER. THEN I TOLD THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I'D ALREADY TAKEN THE CAR TO ANOTHER MECHANIC FIRST, AND THAT I THOUGHT THEY WERE TRYING TO REPAIR AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE AND DO AS LITTLE REPAIRS AS THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH; THEN I ASKED THEM TO REEXAM THE CAR AGAIN. BUT IF I HADN'T ALREADY TAKEN THAT VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC FIRST, THE FORD DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT BACK TO ME IN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION RATHER THAN MAKING THE NECESSARY REPAIRS THAT FORD IS BEING FORCED TO DO BY THE GOVERNMENT.
THE FUEL TANK COLLAPSED, THE FUEL GAUGE IS ACTING ERRATICALLY, IT IS LACKING POWER AND THE CODES P0171 AND P1450 ARE SHOWING. THE FUEL TANK IS ALSO DEFORMED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SO THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL SHOP TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. THE RECALL 18S32 HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THESE PROBLEMS BUT WHEN WE CALLED A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, THEY INFORMED US THAT OUR VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL.
I WAS TRYING TO LEAVE WORK AND WHEN I STARTED MY CAR AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED. THE MESSAGE SIGNALED 'STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTION. CHECK HANDBOOK' THE WHEEL WAS TOO STIFF FOR ME TO MOVE. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT. I AM REALLY THANKFUL THAT IT DID NOT HAPPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE CREATED A SAFETY HAZARD. THE ERROR MESSAGE TURNED OFF AND CAR WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE BECAUSE THE MESSAGE COMES AND GOES WITHOUT ANY INDICATION. THE WHEEL LOCKS UP WHEN THE MESSAGE APPEARS. THE CAR HAS 54,475 MILES. IT IS REALLY DISAPPOINTING HOW MANY PROBLEMS I HAVE ENCOUNTERED.
THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING HARD AND JERKING THE CAR AFTER IT WAS REBUILT LESS THAN A YEAR AGO AND HAS LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION. THE REBUILD WAS DONE THROUGH THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM AND NOW THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX IT. IT HAS BEEN SLIPPING LIKE THIS AND GETTING WORSE OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS.
STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND WHEEL KEEPS LOCKING UP
MY 2012 FORD FOCUS WITH LESS THAN 49,000 MILES LOST POWER STEERING ON NOVEMBER 9, 2020. NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. LUCKILY, I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AT ABOUT 20MPH ON MY OWN STREET WHEN THIS HAPPENED SO I COULD TURN IT AROUND AND GO HOME. (ABOUT 300 FEET OR SO.) I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE OF ABOUT $2100 TO REPAIR IT BUT SAID SINCE IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY THEN I WOULD PAY THE ENTIRE BILL. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP (TUFFY AUTOMOTIVE) AND HAD IT REPAIRED FOR $2119.74. THE REPAIR CONSISTED OF THE ENTIRE RACK AND PINION UNIT BEING REPLACE, A COMPUTER REPROGRAM AND AN ALIGNMENT.
WARNING READOUT STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. STEERING LOCKED UP. COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. EXTREME SAFETY RISK. FORD KNOWS OF OTHER FORD FOCUS CARS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS VIA RECALL. THIS IS THE SECOND REPORT I HAVE MADE ON THIS VEHICLE.

THE DEALERSHIP THAT IS REPRESENTING THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY WHO WILL ULTIMATELY APPROVE THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK OR NOT, ATTEMPTED TO AND WOULD HAVE GIVEN THE CAR BACK TO ME IN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION RATHER THAN MAKING THE NECESSARY REPAIRS THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS BEING FORCED TO FIX BY THE US GOVERNMENT.
MY TWO SONS WERE TURNING LEFT WHEN THEY WERE T-BONED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY SONS VEHICLE WAS STRUCK IN THE RIGHT REAR. THE SIDE AIR BAGS WENT OFF BUT NOT THE TWO FRONTS. ALSO THEIR SEAT BELTS DID NOT TIGHTEN. BC OF THIS BOTH SONS SUFFERED TBI'S, ONE VERY SEVERE AND IS STILL RECOVERING. THE OTHER REQUIRED BRAIN SURGERY. I AM SO UPSET THAT THEIR SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN. I BOUGHT A NEWER FORD THINKING IT WAS GOING TO BE SAFE. PLEASE SOMEONE FIX THIS DEFECT. I HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS COULD EVER HAPPEN. THEY WERE HIT FROM THE OTHER PERSON GOING 45 MPH SO IT SHOULD HAVE TIGHTENED. SAD MOMMA. THE VEHICLE CODE STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED SHOWED UP AND MY VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING (WOULD NOT TURN) IN THE MIDDLE OF A ON COMING PARKING LOT ON A HILL, I UNDERSTAND THERE BASED TO PREVIOUS COMMUNICATION THAT THE IS A ISSUE, WILL THERE BE A RECALL FOR THIS , CAN THE DEALER HELP ,
I HAVE HAD A STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT PROBLEM FOR WITH MY 2012 FOCUS. THEY RECALLED 2013-2018 FOCUSES BUT NOT MY YEAR.WHEN I WOULD START IT THE STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT WOULD SHOW ON MY DASH, IT WOULD BEEP AND IT WAS HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL. I WAS TOLD BY AUTONATION FORD THE RECALL INCLUDED EVERY YEAR OF THE SYSTEM EXCEPT MINE AND JUST TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN AND THIS WAS WORKING UNTIL LAST MONTH. I WENT TO A LARRY MILLER FORD DEALER AND THEY WANTED $2400 TO REPLACE IT AND CONFIRMED MY YEAR GOT SKIPPED ON THE RECALL. MY 2012 FOCUS HAS THE SAME STEERING SYSTEM AND PROBLEM AS THE 2013-2018. MY YEAR WAS UNLAWFULLY CHEATED OUT OF THE RECALL! I HAVE NO POWER STEERING AND HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MANUAL STEERING NOW! AND I HAD TO PAY $145 ON 10/21/2020 TO FIND OUT IT WOULD COST ME $2400 TO FIX IT BEACUSE THE RECALL WASN'T GOOD FOR MY 2012 ONLY 2013-2018!
DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE SEVERAL TIMES AND GET STUCK PERIODICALLY. TOTALLY IMPAIRED VISION IN RAIN. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AGO AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE TO RESOLVE. THEY REPLACED WITH NEW WINDSHIELD WIPERS WHICH WE HAD JUST REPLACED 1 MONTH PRIOR. THEY TRIED TO ADJUST THE PLACEMENT OF THE WIPERS BUT THIS DID NOT FIX IT. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY ANY OTHER DEALER OR SERVICE CENTER. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE ON ONLINE SITES AND FORUMS WITH NO REAL SOLUTIONS PREVALENT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY MALFUNCTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND RECALLED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND FIND A SOLUTION BEFORE ANY FATALITIES HAPPEN. THIS CAR IS DRIVEN BY MY UNDERAGE, NEW DRIVER! EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD!! NO LIGHTS, WARNING LAMPS OR PROBLEMS PRIOR TO FAILURE.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE CAR FOR WORK THE CAR STATED SYSTEM MALFUNCTION AND OIL CHANGE REQUIRED THEN LOCKED UP THE STEERING WHEEL. I THOUGHT MAYBE TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AGAIN SINCE WE GOT THE OIL CHANGED 2 WEEKS AGO, STILL POPPED UP ERRORS LIKE STEERING ASSIST FAIL. BEFORE THIS THE CAR STARTED HAVING SOME DELAYED SHIFTS, SHAKY AT LOWER SPEEDS ALONG WITH OTHER TRANSMISSION ERRORS. NOT SURE IF THEY ARE RELATED BUT EITHER WAY MY CAR IS OUT OF COMMISSION UNTIL ABLE TO BE TOWED AND SERVICED.
MY 16-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN IT LOST ALL POWER STEERING. FORTUNATELY, SHE WAS NOT MOVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE STEERING SYSTEM HAD COMPLETELY FAILED AND THE COST TO REPAIR IT WOULD BE $2,500. HE SAID THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT FORD'S ELECTRIC RACK AND PINION STEERING SYSTEM, HOWEVER THEY REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. I CALLED FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRIC STEERING SYSTEM, THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR. I HAVE OWNED 5 FORD EXPLORERS AND 1 FORD CAR, BUT THEY COULD NOT CARE LESS. I WILL NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GIBBES FORD (2840 ST MATTHEWS RD, ORANGEBURG, SC 29118) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AT THE DEALER AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER AN UNKNOWN RECALL AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT HILBISH FORD (2600 S CANNON BLVD, KANNAPOLIS, NC 28083) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,919.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 - 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE NEEDED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS WARPED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) WAS COMPLETED ON THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 130,000.
STEERING ISN'T WORKING. I SEE THAT FUSION HAS RECALL BUT CAN'T FIND ONE FOR FOCUS. THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY ISSUES AND RECALLS. THIS STEERING ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE ON RECALL TOO.
THIS IS GETTING OUT OF CONTROL HOW FORD CAN SELL CARS WITH FAULTS AND BAD PARTS AND GET AWAY WITH IT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THE ISSUE WITH THE STEERING FAULT THAT HAS THE CUSTOMER FORK OUT OVER 2 GRAND BECAUSE ITS ALL ONE UNIT BUT THEY DID A RECALL ON THE FUSION AND A FEW OTHERS SOMETHING TELLS ME THEY ALSO KNOW ABOUT THE FOCUS MINE IS A 2012 LESS THEN 70 K ON THE CAR AND HAVE HAD IN THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR BOTH ISSUES AND THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WE DID A SOFTWARE FLASH MY GUESS THEY DIDN'T EVEN DO THAT ..SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP UP AND FORCE A RECALL ON THE FOCUS I'M HAVING THE CODE COME UP EVERYDAY JUST MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I GET IN A WRECK OVER THE STEERING THIS HAS HAPPENED IN MOTION TWICE AND EVERYDAY PARKED BEFORE STARTING IT TAKES SEVERAL TIMES TURNING THE KEY OFF AND ON BEFORE FAULT GOES AWAY IN THE DASH

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT 2 SOLENOIDS, VALVE COVER AND RF SWAY LINK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V523000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 133,000.
WHILE DRIVING AROUND 45 MPH ON CO. RD. 1, I CAME TO AN S CURVE. I MADE THE LEFT TURN AND I STARTED TO MAKE THE RIGHT TURN THE DASH FLASHED A WARNING "STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTION". THEN THE STEERING LOCKED UP, I WASN'T ABLE TO MAKE THE TURN, I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 3 CHILDREN IN THE CAR. MY 13 YEAR OLD IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT LOOKING DEAD ON AT AN APPROACHING VEHIVLE AS WE SHOT THROUGH THE OPPOSITE LANE. BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE QUICK REACTIONS OF THE DRIVER, THE HUGE DODGE 2500 WAS ABLE TO TURN AWAY FROM MY VEHICLE AND WE BOTH ENDED UP IN YARDS ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE COUNTY ROAD. MY CHILD COULD HAVE EASILY LOST HER LIFE OR BEEN SEVERELY INJURED. THATS THE MOST TRAUMATIZING OF THE MANY RECENT OCCURANCES. MOST OF WHICH ONLY CONSIST OF TRYING TO TURN INTO PARKING SPACES AND WHEN TURNING FROM STOP SIGNS AND I'M ABLE TO QUICKLY STOP I JUST HAVE TO WORK HARDER TO TURN.
TRASMISSION MAL FUNCTION RUIN THE CLUTCH! THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY ME FOR THE REPAIR AND IS A COLLATERAL DAMAGE

BUT THAT RECALL WAS FOR WHEN THE PREVIOUS OWNERS HAD IT. LOMPOC HONDA DEALERSHIP SOLD ME A LEMON IN 2015, I FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED OR GET A REPLACEMENT ON THE VEHICLE . MY VEHICLE WAS ONLY FIXED WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF PURGE VALVE AND REPROGRAMMING THE PCM; AKINS FORD INVOICE# FOCS439115' LINE J#3 ON INVOICE. NO WHERE ON THE INVOICE DOES IT SAY THE FUEL TANK WAS INSPECTED. I RECEIVED CAR BACK AND I HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL TWICE (WITH GAUGE SAYING ATLEAST 50+ MILES TO EMPTY) OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS. I HAVE ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE DOOR LOCKS AND AFTER TALKING WITH DEALERSHIP WE AGREED TO SCHEDULE A DATE WHERE AS FORD COULD GIVE A LOANER CAR SO THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULD ADDRESS BOTH ISSUES. A WEEK LATER I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL TANK IS DEFORMED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT BUT FORD WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT?? I WAS GIVEN EMAIL THAT FORD WILL NOT GO BACK TO OPEN THE CASE ABOUT TANK RECALL BECAUSE THEY FEEL I AM NOT A " LONG TERM VALUE (LTV) CUSTOMER" ? I HAVE A INVOICE FROM FIRESTONE THAT IT WILL BE 2,531.50 TO REPAIR POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY. FORD SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND PUTTING MY FAMILY AND OTHERS IN DANGER AND THE REPAIR.
I TURNED ON THE CAR (STATIONARY) IN MY PARKING LOT AND A WARNING LIGHT CAME UP ON DISPLAY STATING "STEERING ASSIST FAULT - SERVICE REQUIRED." THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO MOVE WITH CAR UNDER 5 MPH. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TRIED AGAIN. THE WARNING LIGHT IMMEDIATELY CAME ON AGAIN AND SAME ISSUE WAS OBSERVED. Just got transmission recall fixed and having problems again
STEERING AND HILL ASSIST LIGHT CAME ON WHEN WARMING UP THE CAR. WENT TO LEAVE THE PARKING SPOT AND THE CAR WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND RE STARTING TEMPORARILY RESOLVED THE ISSUE FOR A FEW DAYS AT FIRST! BUT IT CAME BACK AND DID THE SAME THING. THIS OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 200 @80MPH CAUSING ME TO ALMOST LEAVE MY LANE AND HIT A MINI VAN! THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS NOW AND ONLY USED FOR VERY SHORT TRIPS IN TOWN (1 MILE OR LESS!) THIS IS A WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED ISSUE THAT FORD IS REFUSING TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR! THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER UNREPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

In September 2020 I was on the expressway when my engine failed, I was able to get into the emergency lane after almost causing an accident, after inspecting the car it was concluded that the engine was no longer viable with no explanation of why the engine failed. So I replaced the engine and the car was still not drivable. In March 2022 I was able to get it started when I tried to drive the car the transmission was slipping, the “ transmission malfunction service now” warning came on, and the RPM gauge on the dash was not reading properly. I ran a code after the transmission warning came on, and the code said P0001, I called the Ford dealership to get it serviced when I was told that there was an unknown recall but the part was on back order for a year, so my car wouldn’t be fixed until the order came in, I searched my Vin number and had a recall for a fuel tank deformation, I also learned that there was a lawsuit against Ford for their 2012 Ford focus transmissions, which could explain the engine failure and the transmission problems.
AIR COMPRESSION INSIDE HAS ALWAYS HAD AIR COME INSIDE THE CAR NEVER BEING SEALED. CAR ENGINE OVERHEATS WHEN THEY USE THEIR OWN PRODUCTS. TIRE FAULT, THEY CLAIM THEY COULDN'T SEE IT, BUT IF THEY REALLY DO DIAGNOSTIC TEST AS THEY CHARGE, THEN THEY SHOULD SEE ALL THE CODES THAT COME UP ON FAULTS. FORD KNOWS THEY HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE CARS BUT WHEN YOU TAKE CAR IN THEY CLAIM THEY CAN'T SEE IT, CLAIMS TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, WHICH THEY DON'T. ASK ABOUT THE RESULTS THEY CLAIM THERE IS NO DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR IT, BUT YET THEY SCAM WITH WARRANTY AND YOURSELF. DOORS LEAK THEY SAY IT'S NORMAL BUT IT BRINGS MOLD INSIDE THE CAR. I START IT UP TO KEEP THE BATTERY GOING AND TO FIND SOMEONE HONEST WHO WON'T CHEAT YOU, CUZ THE DEALERSHIPS ARE SCAMMING FOLKS. SAME THING NUMEROUS TIMES SO I USED THE LAST DATE.
AFTER RE-FUELING, CAR BEGAN TO MOVE, THEN STOPPED MOVING WHILE ENGINE WAS RUNNING JUST FINE. AFTER RESTARTING ENGINE 2-3 TIMES, CAR MOVED SLOWLY(<5MPH) DESPITE ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE: AFTER LEAVING IT PARKED OVERNIGHT, CAR WORKED FINE. SECOND OCCURRENCE: I DROVE THE CAR (<5MPH) OUT OF PARKING LOT, ACROSS A CITY STREET TO FORD DEALER. BOTH TIMES, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL.

Bought the car may 2020 and 3 months later the gas gauge would say empty when it wasn't. I would run out of gas multiple times and be stranded. I would keep a full gas tank in my trunk just incase because alot of times my kids were with me. The last time this happened the car stalled.
