I OWN A 2012 FORD FOCUS SE THAT CONTINUES TO DISPLAY ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS INCLUDES DELAYED ACCELERATION, JERKING, AND BUCKING. WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO SHIFT PROPERLY. THIS ENDANGERED BOTH MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF THE OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. MY FORD FOCUS HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE MULTIPLE TIMES AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS TO INCLUDE THE DEALERSHIP PURCHASED FROM. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED BOTH UNDER THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND STILL DISPLAYS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I AM HAVING A HARD TIME UNDERSTANDING WHY THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IF EVEN AFTER I CONTINUE TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS MY SAFETY AND WHAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY PLANS TO DO. YOU ASK FOR A DATE AS TO WHEN THIS HAPPENED BUT IT HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2012. I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE SAME LINES I HAVE HEARD FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS REGARDING MY VEHICLE.
WHILE STOPPED BEHIND RED LIGHT ALL SCREEN SYSTEM, SYNC SYSTEM, RADIO INCLUDING SOUND SYSTEM WENT BLACK. DID NOT START OVER TILL NEXT DAY IN THE MORNING AND AS SOON AS START THE CAR ERRORS AFTER ERROR CAME UP FOR NAV SYSTEM, PHONE CONNECTION. HAD TO RESET EVERY THING. THESE ERRORS ARE COMING UP EVERY DAY. THERE WILL BE RISK OF LOSING OTHER SYSTEM INCLUDING AIR BAG, POWER STEERING, BREAK AND OTHER IMPORTANT SYSTEM WHILE THIS SYSTEM GOING OFF. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER AND SERVICE TRAINED SPECIALIST TOLD ME THAT IS MY PHONE PROBLEM!!! AFTER LONG DRIVE WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OFF CAR IS SHAKING, THERE IS BIG SAFETY ISSUE WITH SEAT BELT. WHILE DRIVING, IF FOR ANY REASON UNLOCK THE SEAT BELT THERE WILL BE NO WARNING LIGHT OR WARNING SOUND THAT SEAT BELT IS OFF. IF CAR IS RUNNING AND LEAVE THE CAR WHEN YOU ARE BACK AND START DRIVING THERE WILL BE NO WARNING LIGHT AND SOUND THAT SEAT BELT IS NOT IN USE AND CAN DRIVE ALL YOU WANT. AFTER LONG DRIVE WHILE TRYING TO TAKE OFF CAR IS SHAKING. *TR
I'VE EXPERIENCED SHUDDER AT TAKE OFF, WHILE PULLING ONTO ROAD TRANSMISSION CAN'T FIND GEAR LEAVES ME IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION, RPM SPIKE AND DROP WHILE SHIFTING AND A VIOLENT SHUDDER AT SAME TIME, CHATTER NOISE WHEN SHIFTING, LIST GOES ON.....AFTER THE FOURTH VISIT TO ANOTHER DEALER PARTS FIXED WERE CLUTCH BECAUSE IT WAS BEING STRIPPED, CLUTCH SLAVE, AND A WHOLE OTHER LIST OF PARTS. WEEK LATER PROBLEM CAME BACK PARTS FIXED WERE CLUTCH, CLUTCH FORKS, CLUTCH MOTOR AND MORE. WEEK LATER AND SIXTH VISIT FOR SAME PROBLEMS TOOK THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR A RIDE. HE EXPERIENCED MY PROBLEMS AND WERE NOW GETTING A FIELD SERVICE TECH ON IT. SERVICE MANAGER ALSO TOLD ME IF I'M ON A DECLINE WITH THE NOSE DOWN AND GIVE IT A LITTLE GAS I WILL ALWAYS GET THE SHUTTER AND IT'S STRIPPING THE CLUTCH, THAT'S A CHARACTERISTIC. ALSO WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTING AT HIGHER SPEEDS THE RPM FLUCTUATE AND SHUTTER IS ANOTHER CHARACTERISTIC THE TRANSMISSION IS TRYING TO FIND A GEAR. BY NO MEANS WAS THE SERVICE MANAGER ON THE SIDE OF FORD JUST STATING WHAT'S THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE DOING. I HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH FORD HAVE WRITTEN A LETTER INQUIRING ABOUT THE BUY BACK IF I DON'T GET THE RESPONSE I WANT I'M TAKING MY CASE TO COURT. TALKED TO AN ATTORNEY AND THAT'S MY BEST CASE OF ACTION. JUST ALL AROUND NOT A SAFE CAR. AND THE SAD THING IT'S PROBABLY GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE A DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY BEFORE FORD MOTOR COMPANY STARTS TAKING THE CONSUMER SERIOUSLY. HERE'S COMES ANOTHER EXPLORER PROBLEM. *TR
AFTER MAKING RIGHT TURN OUT OF DRIVEWAY, TRAVELED STRAIGHT FOR APPROXIMATELY 300-400 YARDS AND POWER STEERING FAILED. WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. HAD TO STOP AT STOP SIGN...COULD NOT STEER CAR - VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER WITHOUT ASSIST. I MANAGED TO TURN IT AROUND, GOT BACK TO MY DRIVEWAY. POWER STEERING DID NOT RETURN. CALLED FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE - TOW TRUCK DRIVER HAD DIFFICULTY STEERING THE CAR TO GET IT ON TRUCK...POWER ASSIST RETURNED. DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE, RESEARCHED WITH FORD TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND FOUND "NO CAUSE." THEY CALLED IT A FLUKE AND RETURNED CAR TO ME. SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED IN SAME FASHION ON FEB. 14, 2012. AFTER RETURNING TO MY DRIVEWAY THE SECOND TIME, THE POWER ASSIST RETURNED TO FUNCTION. DEALER IS NOT SURE THAT BRINGING THE CAR IN WILL HELP THEM FIND OR FIX THE PROBLEM. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT STATED IN EMAIL THAT "IT COULD VERY WELL BE A FLUKE" AND IS NOT OFFERING ANY FURTHER SOLUTIONS. I NEED HELP IN GETTING THIS FIXED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON I-8 TOWARD SAN DIEGO I HEARD A ENGINE REVVING UP THEN TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT SUDDENLY. ENGINE LOST A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF POWER/TORQUE EVER SINCE. FOR EXAMPLE I CAN NOT ACCELERATE IN 6 GEAR @ HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SHIFT TIMES SOMETIMES ARE MORE THEN 2 SEC APART WHICH PRESENTS AN ENORMOUS RISK WHEN DRIVING IN ANY TRAFFIC. CAR HAS BEEN TO KEARNY FORD FOR REPAIRS MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE WITH NEITHER FORD NOR DEALER PROVIDING ANY FIX AND TELLING ME THAT 'IT'S OPERATING WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS'. I AM DRIVING A RENTAL FORD FOCUS WITH APPROXIMATELY SAME MILEAGE AS MY CAR NOW AND IT DOES NOT EXHIBIT ANY OF THE ISSUES I HAVE. AT THIS POINT I FEEL THAT MY OWN SAFETY AND MY FAMILY SAFETY ARE BEING PUT AT RISK. I CAN NOT SAFELY DRIVE THIS CAR ON ANYTHING BUT EMPTY OR ALMOST EMPTY ROADS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 20 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING FUNCTION FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,106 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 4,160.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PULL OFF THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE AND SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN THE GEARS ENGAGED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT HER AT A LATER DATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
I BOUGHT THE 2012 FORD FOCUS SEL ON NOVEMBER 18TH 2011 AND FIRST RECALL WAS JAN 02 2012 THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION AND THERE WAS A 2ND RECALL AND THE REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN BUT IM STILL HAVING HESITATION ON STARTUPS AND LOSES POWER AS WELL BUT HASN'T STALLED YET BUT I THOUGHT FEW TIMES IT WILL STALL OUT BUT IT DIDN'T. I HOPE FORD CAN FIX THE HESITATION OF THIS VEHICLE BUT IF NOT THEN I WILL NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN. ALSO THE SUSPENSION IS VERY HARD ON BUMPS. FEELS LIKE THERE IS NO SHOCKS ON THE CAR. VERY DISAPPOINTED ON MY FRONT WINDSHIELD. CRACKED WHEN I ONLY HAD 15,000 MILES ON THE CAR. *TR

ADDITIONALLY, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD OFTEN SEIZE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHO HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE NOR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION SENSOR BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED AND THE RADIO WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN IT WAS POWERED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO THEN DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER CHIP IN THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I NEED MY 2012 FORD FOCUS REPAIRED PER MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER 18S32 AND NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 18V735.
IVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE STEERING WHEEL SINCE I 1ST GOT THE CAR. IN THE BEGINNING IT WOULD LIKE A COUPLE MINUTES AND THEN BE FINE. I NOTICED IT WHEN IT WAS SUPER COLD OR EVEN JUST KIND OF COLD. THERE HAVE BEEN A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN THE WEATHER WAS FINE AND THE STEERING WAS STILL VERY HARD TO TURN. ID HAVE ISSUES IN THE MORNING BY THE TIME I LEFT THE PARKING LOT IT WAS FINE AND WHEN I GOT IN MY CAR AFTER WORK THE SAME THING (WITH IN A FEW MINUTES WAS FINE). I'VE TAKEN MY CAR IN MANY TIMES BUT THEY COULD NEVER FIGURE OUT AN ISSUE. NOW ITS 2020 AND ITS BEEN "OUT" SINCE THURSDAY TODAY IS MONDAY AND I JUST HAD IT TOWED TO THE CAR DEALER SHIP. EVERY TIME THIS ISSUES OCCURRED MY CAR WAS IN PART I NEVER GOT A WARNING MESSAGE UNTIL TODAY. IVE ALWAYS BEEN AT HOME OR AT WORK WHERE MY CAR HAS SAT FOR A FEW HOURS

WHILE DRIVING STEERING FAULT SERVICE IMMEDIATELY AND AN EXCLAMATION MARK APPEARED ON THE DASHBORAD. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAR WOULD BARELY STEER AND I HAD A VERY HARD TIME GETTING IT OFF THE ROAD. I CALLED FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. *KB
I WAS DRIVING AROUND 10MPH AND GETTING INTO A TURNING LANE WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR HIT THE MEDIAN WHICH WAS NO HIGHER THEN A CURB. AFTER HITTING THE MEDIAN THE ENGINE MOUNTS BROKE OFF AND PART OF THE ENGINE FELL OFF THE CAR. THE IMPACT CAUSED NO SEEABLE DAMAGE TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR NEITHER DID THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY. THERE IS NO REASON WHY HITTING A CURB AT 10MPH WOULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO POP OUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE TRAVELING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE TO ACCELERATE AND THEN WOULD SUDDENLY SURGE FORWARD WITHIN SECONDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,900 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,300. UPDATED 04/25/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE RPM'S TO 4,000 AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL. A FEW DAYS LATER, WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE SAME OCCURRENCE HAPPENED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE IDLED AT 600 RPM WHEN BRAKING, THEN INCREASED TO 1400, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 05/02/12
THE WINDSHIELD IN MY CAR HAS DISTORTIONS IN IT. SOME ARE VERTICAL, SOME ARE HORIZONTAL. THE FORD DEALER AND FORD CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE BOTH TOLD ME THAT THIS IS STANDARD FOR THIS MODEL. SINCE ALL MODELS HAVE IT, THERE IS NO WINDSHIELD WITH WHICH IT CAN BE REPLACED. I THINK IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE LOOKING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD DISTORTS WHAT I SEE OUTSIDE. I'D LIKE NHTSA TO LOOK INTO IT. *TR
I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL POTENTIALLY FATAL OCCURRENCES RELATED TO LEFT FOOT BRAKING AND THE BRAKE OVER THROTTLE OVERRIDE SOFTWARE INSTALLED IN MY 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHEN BRAKING WITH THE LEFT FOOT AND IN A TURN WHILE FEATHERING THE THROTTLE WITH THE RIGHT FOOT, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL, THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO REV WITHOUT GOING INTO ANY GEAR. THIS CONDITION HAS OCCURRED NO LESS THAN 22 TIMES. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN BUT THE NEXT WAS A LEFT HAND TURN. ALTHOUGH THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED CROSSING ONE LANE OF TRAFFIC, I WOULD NOT LIKE THIS CONDITION TO OCCUR CROSSING 2 OR 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND BECOMING A FATALITY. I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO BRAKES USING THE LEFT FOOT. NOW THAT I KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE, I CAN DUPLICATE IT EVEN BRAKING AT ANY SPEED AND IN A STRAIGHT LINE. CAR HAS BEEN TO FORD AND HAD FLASHES OF THE COMPUTER INSTALLED WITH NO CHANGE. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM THROUGH EMAILS FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER AT MY DEALERSHIP. THIS CONDITION CAN RESULT IN A SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY FATAL ACCIDENT. THIS FIX FOR THE SO CALLED TOYOTA FLOOR MAT PROBLEM HAS CREATED AN EVEN MORE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE CAUSED BY OF ALL THINGS BRAKING WITH THE LEFT FOOT. AT THE LEAST , I SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION TO OVERRIDE THE BRAKE OVER THROTTLE PORTION OF THE SOFTWARE BY TURNING IT OFF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO HESITATE IN A JERKING MOTION AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESUME. IN ADDITION, ON A SEPARATE OCCASSION THE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE FAILURES OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER EIGHT TIMES FOR THE SAME MALFUNCTION. A DIAGNOSIS WAS PERFORMED IN WHICH A TROUBLE CODE WAS NOT DETECTED. THE COMPUTER SYSTEM, ABS, AND DRIVE TRAIN WERE REPROGRAMMED MORE THAN ONE TIME. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED AS DESIGNED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 350.
WHILE BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY THE STEERING SYSTEM FAILED, I ROLLED DOWN A HILL AND INTO A WOODED AREA. THE SYSTEM GAVE AN INDICATOR LIGHT OF STEERING SYSTEM FAILURE AND ALSO THE BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT ENGAGE. I LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *TR

ALSO, WHILE THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE WITH THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, THE VHEICLE ACCELERATED IN REVERSE INSTEAD. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND DIAGNOSED A LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE FAILURE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000.

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY, BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY, THEN SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AGAIN. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 300.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE MOTOR MOUNT FRACTURED CAUSING THE MOTOR TO DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT SHE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS SINCE IT WAS NOT A DEFECT AND THE FAILURE OCCURRED FROM AN IMPACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 1,300.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and inadvertently downshifted. The contact stated that the downshifting occurred while accelerating to merge into traffic. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but had since become constant. The contact stated that the transmission control module warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the part was not available and he would be placed on a waiting list. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

We have broguht in for service as well as call for many years, over and over again, we've been told there is nothing wrong with the car. even though it has a warning for tranmission malfunction service now. ave been trying to get this resolved since my dad bought the car in 2012! weve been turned away. AFTER THE SIXTH VISIT TO THE DEALER, THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE REQUIRED PART TO PERFORM THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL TWO MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,800.

MY FORD FOCUS WAS PURCHASED IN JUNE 2011 THE VEHICLE WAS NEW OFF THE DEALER LOT, TO DATE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR POWER TRAIN REPAIR FOR A TOTAL OF SEVEN TIMES. THE FIFTH TIME BACK IN JUNE 2013, THE POWER TRAIN INTERNAL PARTS WERE REPLACE, THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES. MY VEHICLE AGAIN WENT IN FOR REPAIR ON JANUARY 29, 2015 AS THE TRANSMISSION OVER HEATED AND I RECEIVED A WARNING TO STOP THE CAR. THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS, I PICKED THE CAR UP ON THURSDAY AFTER WORK, THE NEXT DAY THE CAR LOST THE ABILITY TO PULL THE VEHICLE AND I BARELY GOT OFF THE ROAD. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO GO OVER TEN MILES AN HOUR. THE DEALERSHIP SENT A TOW TRUCK FOR MY CAR AND BACK TO THE SHOP IT WENT. AFTER TWO WEEKS I GOT A CALL THAT THERE WERE NO ISSUES FOUND AND THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT PAY A TECH TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE MORE THAN 20 MILES. I INSISTED THERE WAS AN ISSUE AND THAT I FEAR FOR MY LIFE DRIVING THIS CAR NOW. THE DEALERSHIP GOT PERMISSION FROM ME TO ALLOW THE TECH TO DRIVER THE VEHICLE HOME TO SEE IF THE CAR ACTED UP FOR HIM ON A LONGER DISTANCE DRIVE 2/19/2015. ON 2/20/2015 I RECEIVED A CALL THAT THE TECH HAD IN FACT GOT STRANDED ON THE HWY ON 2-19-2015 AND NOW THEY MUST ATTEMPT TO LOCATE THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16.
WE PURCHASED THIS CAR ON 08/19/2011 AND THE NEXT DAY WHILE TAKING OFF FROM A STOP SIGN THE CAR WOULD SHUDDER, I DO NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS COLD BUT IN STOP AND GO DRIVING AND NORMAL CITY DRIVING AFTER IT HAS WARMED UP. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE TECH DROVE IT AND VERIFIED THAT IT DID HAVE THIS ISSUE. THEY CONTACTED FORD AND FORD STATED THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND TOLD THEM TO DO NOTHING. I COMPLAINED TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ALL THE LADY HAD TO SAY WAS THAT IT IS NORMAL. ALSO FORD HAD STATED THAT THESE ARE ISOLATED INCIDENTS, IF THEY ARE INDEED ISOLATED THEN THEY CANNOT BE CONSIDERED NORMAL BUT RATHER A DEFECT THAT FORD DOES NOT WANT TO ADDRESS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CLUTCHES REQUIRE A BREAK-IN BUT FORD DOES NOT STATE ANY BREAK-IN PROCEDURE THAT PERTAINS JUST TO THE CLUTCHES OTHER THEN THE NORMAL 1000 MILE BREAK-IN FOR THE VEHICLE IN GENERAL. I AND OTHERS I HAVE COMMUNICATED WITH ALL HAVE THESE ISSUES AFTER THE 1000 MILE BREAK-IN AND FEEL IT IS BOTH A SAFETY ISSUE AND A MECHANICAL DEFECT FROM FORD THAT WOULD COST TO MUCH TO REPAIR SO THEY CLAIM IT IS NORMAL. *KB

THE PROBLEMS INCLUDED THE CAR ROLLING BACKWARDS ON HILLS, SPUTTERING WHEN STOPPED (LIKE AT A RED LIGHT), JUMPING UPON ACCELERATION, & BRIEFLY LOSING ACCELERATION WHILE THE RPM??S REVVED. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP & THEY TOLD ME THAT THE BACKWARDS ROLLING, REVVING & JUMPING OF THE ENGINE WAS A TRAIT OF THE CAR. I TOLD THEM IT WAS DANGEROUS DEPENDING ON WHERE I WAS WHEN THESE THINGS HAPPENED (FOR EXAMPLE, AT AN INTERSECTION OR IN STOP & GO TRAFFIC WITH A CAR IN FRONT OF ME). THEY ASSURED ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. ON OCTOBER 17, 2011, THE CAR BROKE DOWN. I PULLED OUT OF A PARKING LOT & PUSHED DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR, AT FIRST THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE, BUT ONCE IT GOT TO ABOUT 15/20 MPH, THE RPM??S BEGAN TO REV & THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE SO I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR & THE CAR STOPPED REVVING. IF I HAD BEEN ON A HIGHWAY, THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. MY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE & TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. THE CAR WOULD THEN DRIVE, BUT THE ROLLING BACKWARDS ON HILLS, SPUTTERING WHEN STOPPED, JUMPING UPON ACCELERATION, & BRIEFLY LOSING ACCELERATION WHILE THE RPM??S REVVED STILL CONTINUED & AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THE DEALERSHIP COULD STILL NOT FIX THESE ISSUES. I THEN RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD REFERENCING A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 12B37 DATED MAY 2012. IT ACKNOWLEDGED THESE ISSUES SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. ALTHOUGH THEY REPROGRAMMED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AGAIN AS WELL AS THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. THESE PROBLEMS COULD POTENTIAL CAUSE A WRECK, INJURING MYSELF OR OTHERS AROUND ME. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE READS MUCH HIGHER LEVELS THAN ARE ACTUALLY IN THE TANK. THE GAUGE WILL ACTUALLY GO UP FROM THREE QUARTERS TO FULL IN A 20 MILE RIDE. I DO HAVE PICTURES DOCUMENTING THIS. THE ONLY TIME THE GAUGE SEEMS TO BE CORRECT IS UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. *TR
