VEHICLE BUCKED OR SHUDDERED WHEN STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR IF COASTING AND THEN GAS APPLIED. ISSUE WAS SAID TO BE FIXED AT THIS TIME 4/30/14, WHICH IT DID RUN BETTER UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON 9/6/14 WHEN I POINTED OUT THE SAME ISSUE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK COMING FROM THE BELL HOUSING AND IT WAS DRIPPING ON THE CLUTCH CAUSING THE SHUDDERING. ON 9/16/14 IT WAS TAKEN TO THE GARAGE FOR REPAIR. I AM STILL EXPERIENCING SOME SHUDDERING, ESPECIALLY IN REVERSE WHEN GOING SLOW BUT ALSO AT TIMES GOING FORWARD. NOT SATISFIED THAT IT IS COMPLETELY FIXED, BUT FORD HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 7 YEARS/ 100,000 MILES. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE GARAGE IN THE NEAR FUTURE FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2013 FOCUS SE PRE OWNED WITH 19500 MILES IN MARCH OF 2014. WITHIN A MONTH THE CAR WAS SHAKING HORRIBLY AT STOP AND AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 0-30MPH, WHILE GRINDING-LIKE NOISE CAME FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I AM IN FEAR OF MY WIFE AND MY SAFETY, I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A BIG 1 TON DIESEL TRUCK BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FROM STOP. I TOOK IT THE DEALER AND THE CAR WAS "REPAIRED" BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM. AFTER TAKING IT HOME 2 WEEKS LATER I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK BECAUSE THE SAME PROBLEMS WERE OCCURRING. FORD SERVICE ASSURED ME THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. ME BEING A CHEMICAL PLANT WORKER WORKING OVERNIGHTS MADE IT DIFFICULT TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR A THIRD TIME DURING THEIR BUSINESS HOURS. FIRST CHANCE I GOT I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP A MONTH LATER TO GET IT FIXED AGAIN. I TALKED TO THE DEALER MANAGER AND HE GUARANTEED ME HE WOULD HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE, HE TOOK ME TO THE FORD SERVICE MANAGER JUST FOR HIM TO TELL ME "ITS NORMAL" FOR THAT CAR TO DO THAT. THEY SAID ALL THEY COULD DO IS SOME COMPUTER RESET TO THE CAR AND GAVE IT BACK TO ME. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THE CAR WILL START SHAKING AGAIN EVENTUALLY AND THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX THAT PROBLEM BECAUSE THAT'S THE WAY THE TRANSMISSION WAS DESIGNED. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF FILING A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT AGAINST FORD. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE AGAIN. *TR
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR MOVING POSITION IN MY CAR I GET A CRUNCHING, GRINDING NOISE AND SUDDEN JERKING. SEEMS TO COME FROM THE TRANSMISSION BUT EVERY TIME I TAKE MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE THEY REFUSE TO EVEN LOOK AT THE CAR AND SAY IT'S NORMAL AND HAND ME PAPERWORK SAYING IT'S FINE. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL HARDLY EVEN ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POSITION OR MOVE AS SLOW AS MOLASSES. I NEED HELP WITH THIS BECAUSE IT'S VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
I FIRST NOTICED A PROBLEM WITH MY TRANSMISSION THE FIRST WEEK I BOUGHT MY '13 FORD FOCUS. I WOULD HEAR A SHUDDERING AND GEARS GRINDING WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE AND MY TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK IT OUT BUT WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND SENT ME ON MY WAY WITHOUT EVEN TAKING A LOOK UNDER THE HOOD. I INFORMED THEM I WAS WORRIED ABOUT GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT WITH IT AND THEY SAID THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE AND IT WAS OF NO CONCERN. ON FRIDAY, APRIL 25TH, 2014, AFTER DRIVING 40 MINUTES TO WORK, I STARTED MY CAR UP AGAIN AND TURNED ONTO A MAIN CITY ROAD FROM A PARKING LOT THEN ONTO A RESIDENTIAL STREET. THERE, I NOTICED MY TRANSMISSION LIGHT HAD TURNED ON AND MY CAR WAS HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME SHIFTING GEARS. THE RPMS SKYROCKETED AND THEN PLUMMETED. I WAS GOING ABOUT 20MPH-25MPH AND MY DASH IS READING 4RPMS. I THEN TURN ONTO ANOTHER MAIN ROAD WHERE MY CAR STARTED CHUGGING ALONG, IT FELT, WHILE REVVING MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER MY OWN VEHICLE. ABOUT A MILE OR TWO AWAY, I REACHED MY DESTINATION. I PARKED AND THEN STARTED TO DRIVE AGAIN WHERE MY CAR THEN STOPPED AND I HAD TO DECLARE IT INOPERABLE. THE NEXT DAY, I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED. COME TO FIND OUT, THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS I COMPLAINED ABOUT TO THE DEALER WERE NOT NORMAL AND ANY DAY MY CAR WAS GOING TO QUIT ON ME. APRIL 25TH, 2014 HAPPENED TO BE THAT DAY. MY CAR IS JUST OUTSIDE OF THE LEMON LAW AS I PURCHASED IT LAST JANUARY. FORD IS HESITANT ON HELPING ME AND GETTING MY CAR BACK AND RUNNING. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM AND NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, THEREFORE, I DID NOT PURSUE THE PROBLEM ANY FURTHER. *JS
CLUTCH SHUDDERING - VIBRATING AT 13,648 MILES - TOOK IN FOR REPAIR - CAR WAS NEVER QUITE RIGHT AFTER THAT - NOW AGAIN AT 29,000 MILES ITS SHUDDERING AND VIBRATING AGAIN - FORD TELLING ME THE PARTS MAY ARRIVE SOMETIME BETWEEN 8 TO 12 WEEKS FOR THE REPAIR. *TR
VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 4 TIMES FOR ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION. HESITATES OR JUMPS WHEN SHIFTING. SOMETIMES ALMOST STALLS OUT. DEALER HAS DONE EVERYTHING THEY CAN AND STATE THAT FORD IS NOT ALLOWING THEM TO SERVICE THE VEHICLES. DEALER STATED THEY HAVE 25 FORD FOCUS CURRENTLY IN FOR SAME ISSUE. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH MY DAUGHTER IN IT, AS THIS CLEARLY IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE ISSUE SEEMS WORSE AT LOWER SPEEDS AND WITH A/C ON. CONTACTED FORD AND THEY ARE STATING THIS IS "NORMAL OPERATION" IF IT WAS NORMAL OPERATION, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT WOULD START AROUND 10K MILES AND 1 YEAR OF DRIVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE ON A HILL, IT ROLLED AWAY IN REVERSE AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 5 MPH. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER NOR WAS IT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000, AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, I SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER. WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH BUT THEN SUDDENLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND I COULD NOT DRIVE FASTER THAN ABOUT 20 MPH DESPITE WHAT GEAR I WAS IN OR HOW MUCH I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR. AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, I DROVE IT ONCE AGAIN AND IT SEEMED TO BE ACTING NORMAL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER FLASHING. *TR
WE HAD HAD THIS CAR IN AT LEAST 6 TIMES FOR ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE LAST VISIT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO WHEN THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THERE IS ALSO A WARNING LIGHT THAT IS CONSTANTLY ON. THEY TOLD US IT HAS TO DO WITH A SENSOR BY WHERE THE GAS IS PUT INTO THE CAR BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR TURN OFF THE WARNING LIGHT. THE CAR STILL STUTTERS AND RUNS ROUGH AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS. MOSTLY WHEN FIRST ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP. ALSO CLUNKS WHEN TURNING.
ENGINE STALLS AND SHUTS OFF WHILE COASTING OR COMING TO A STOP WITH THE CLUTCH IN. *TR
SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL WHEN UPSHIFTING (AUTOMATIC). SHUDDERS & GRINDS WHEN SHIFTS. HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED NUMEROUS TIMES DUE TO LATE SHIFTING OR GOING INTO NEUTRAL. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS AND EXPRESSWAYS. ON THIRD CLUTCH AND STILL HAPPENING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HE DROVE 65 MPH THE STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 350.
I PURCHASED A FORD FOCUS VIN #: [XXX] ON 2-23-2013. MAGUIRE FORD S. MAIN ST. PO BOX 39 DUNCANNON PA 17020 I FIRST CALLED THE DEALER ABOUT GRINDING SOUNDS AND HESITATION WHEN PULLING OUT IN LOW GEAR WHEN THE CAR HAD 18,000 MILES. THEIR INITIAL EXPLANATION WAS THAT THE ?NEW FORD ? TRANSMISSION AS ACTING LIKE A MANUAL AND SOME SHUDDER AND NOISE WILL BE NORMAL. IT WAS OBVIOUS TO BE THE CAR WAS NOT ?NORMAL? AND AT 19,459 MILES, APRIL 4, 2014, THE DEALER FOUND FAULTY CLUTCHES AND PUT IN A NEW CLUTCH ASSEMBLY (BV6Z7B546D). IT STILL DID NOT FEEL RIGHT AND I TOOK IT BACK APRIL 12,2013. THEY SAID IT IS NORMAL. I ASKED IF THEY WOULD EXTEND THE GUARANTEE BEYOND THE 60,000 MILES AS I ENVISIONED THIS AS A RECURRING PROBLEM. THEY DID NOT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. IN AUGUST, 2014 , FORD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR SEVEN YEARS OR 100,000 MILES.( PROBABLY BECAUSE OF SO MANY COMPLAINTS) I WAS PLEASED UNTIL THE CAR STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN AT 38,000 MILES . I TOOK IT IN ON 5/27/15 AND THE DEALER CONFIRMED I NEED CLUTCHES REPLACED AGAIN. HOWEVER, THE PARTS ARE BACKLOGGED AND IT WILL TAKE THREE TO FOUR MONTHS! I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY FACTOR. THE SHUDDER AND GRINDING, I CAN LIVE WITH FOR A WHILE. THE HESITATION WHEN PULLING OUT INTO HEAVY TRAFFIC IS UNACCEPTABLE. IN ADDITION, A 100,000 WARRANTY WITH A PROBLEM OCCURRING EVERY 20,000 MILES MEANS SOMEONE WILL EVENTUALLY BE FACED WITH A HUGE REPAIR BILL, NOT TO MENTION THE DIMINISHED VALUE OF THE CAR FOR RESALE OR TRADE IN DUE TO THIS MANUFACTURES DEFECT. I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN A COMPLETELY FLAT SECTION OF THE ROAD AND HAD BEEN APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES IN MY JOURNEY WHEN I NOTICED MY CAR STARTED SLIGHTLY SHUDDERING. WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A MERGING VEHICLE, MY VEHICLE WENT TO OVER 5000 RPM (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BY THE WAY) AND MY SPEED DROPPED, DANGEROUSLY DROPPING MY SPEED IN A PASSING LANE TO 20 UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT. WHILE MAKING MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE THE SPEED, MY RPM'S KEPT GOING UP AND MY ACCELERATION KEPT DECLINING WITH CARS SWERVING UNTIL I COULD GET INTO THE RIGHTHAND LANE. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT OR ANY DIFFICULTY WITH MY VEHICLE AS I PURCHASED IT NEW. FURTHER, I HAVE NOTICED THAT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, WHEN STOPPED AT INTERSECTIONS OR LIGHTS, IF I LET UP OFF OF THE GAS AT ALL, MY CAR ROLLS BACKWARDS MUCH LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION WOULD DO, WHICH NOW THAT I KNOW THE TRANSMISSION DOES THIS, I AM AWARE, HOWEVER ON UPHILL STOPS I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO NOT ROLL BACKWARDS IN SWITCHING BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATION IF A CAR IS CLOSELY BEHIND ME, STOPPED. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR IT TO BE LOOKED AT, AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP (WHERE I DIDN'T BUY THE CAR) STATES THAT THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ARE COMMON IN FORD FOCUSES OF THIS MODEL YEAR -- AND FORD IS AWARE/THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE -- YET THEY "CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ACTUALLY WRONG BY GUIDELINES" FOR THE CAR. IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY! I EXPECT A NEW CAR WITH NO ACCIDENTS TO RUN SMOOTHLY! *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS WARM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE I HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR HAS BEEN DISABLED WHILE DRIVING TWICE. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. THE CAR SHAKES IN THE LOWER AND HIGHER GEARS. WHEN I ACCELERATE IT HESITATES CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE. SHE REFERRED ME TO THE DEALER WHO IN TURN HAS TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS STOPPED ANSWERING MY CALLS SINCE LAST FALL (2014). THE PROBLEM CONTINUES.
TRANSMISSION ISSUES: CLUTCH REPAIRS X3 (DROVE OFF LOT WITH ISSUES. MY MISTAKE. I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH IT DURING TEST DRIVE, WAS REASSURED IT WAS NEW TECHNOLOGY.) 1 CLEANING, 1 REPLACING OF PARTS, THEN TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WENT OUT WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET, GOING FORWARD 25+ MPH, QUIT COMPLETELY. HAD TOWED. RAN OUT OF GAS (IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY, 65 + MPH) WHILE MONITOR NOTED 150 TO EMPTY, FOUND TO BE VALVE PRESSURE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FAILURE, RESULTING IN GAS TANK REPLACEMENT

THIS VEHICLE HAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT HAS IT HESITATING AND LURCHING FORWARD IN THE SLOWER GEARS. IT IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE WHEN STARTING OUT AND I HAVE NEARLY HIT SEVERAL CARS, SEVERAL TIMES. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE. THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEN THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A NORMAL "FEATURE" OF THE MANUAL/AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE COMPUTER WOULD "LEARN" MY DRIVING HABITS AFTER A SHORT WHILE. IT NEVER HAS AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. *TR
PURCHASED FOCUS IN MARCH OF 2013 SOON AFTER PURCHASE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LURCH AND HESITATE WHILE ACCELERATING ALMOST TO THE POINT VEHICLE WOULD STALL GETS VERY SCARY WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC WITH NO POWER TO ACCELERATE. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED I NEEDED A CLUTCH THAT THERE WAS A SEAL LEAKING WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE! THEY PERFORMED REPAIR AND NOT EVEN A MONTH LATER THE PROBLEM OCCURRED SO I RETURNED THE VEHICLE AGAIN JUST TO FIND OUT THE OTHER CLUTCH THEY DIDN'T REPLACE HAD FAILED ALSO. THEY AGAIN REPLACED CLUTCH AND I RETURNED HOME. WITHIN 2 DAYS OF REPAIR THE VEHICLE STARTED SHUTTERING AND WHEN ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR SO I WAS STUCK ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 40 MPH IN A 70 SPEED ZONE SO I IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER AND CALL FORD WHICH TELLS ME TO BRING IT IN ON MONDAY BECAUSE THERE NOT OPEN ON SATURDAY. I RETURN VEHICLE TO THERE DISBELIEF THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE BECAUSE IT HAS ALL THE LATEST REFLASHES AND CLUTCHES IN VEHICLE BUT LOW AND BEHOLD THEY INFORM ME MY TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE HAS FAILED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY REPLACE TCM AND SEND ME HOME. YESTERDAY PROBABLY 2 MONTHS AFTER VIRTUALLY EVERY COMPONENT HAS BEEN REPLACED VEHICLE STARTS TO SHUDDER HORRIBLE PROBABLY THE WORST I'VE EXPERIENCED TO DATE SO I TAKE IT TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORM ME I NEED ANOTHER CLUTCH!!! THE VEHICLE HAS 48K MILES ON IT I AM SICK OF WORRYING ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT I CAN ACCELERATE AND MERGE INTO TRAFFIC WITHOUT THE VEHICLE GETTING REAR ENDED BECAUSE THE CLUTCHES ARE SLIPPING. I NOTICED A LARGE BUBBLE - THE APPROXIMATE SIZE OF A TENNIS BALL - IN MY PASSENGER SIDE TIRE SIDEWALL. HAD TO CALL NUMEROUS DEALERS TO FIND A TIRE IN STOCK. TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND HE SAID THE TIRE WAS ABOUT TO BLOW. $170.00 FOR A NEW TIRE. NOT EVEN TWO MONTHS LATER, DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ANOTHER TIRE SIDEWALL BLEW. THIS ONE HAD A TEAR IN THE SIDEWALL. HAD TO CALL FORD EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE TO HAVE THE DONUT TIRE PUT ON. DROVE TO A CONTINENTAL DEALER, BUT ONCE AGAIN NO TIRE IN STOCK. HE PUT ON A TIRE AND HAD TO GO BACK IN WHEN HE GOT THE OTHER ONE. ANOTHER $170.00. TERRIFIED TO DRIVE ON THESE TIRES. CONTACTED CONTINENTAL. NO ONE RETURNS YOUR CALLS. OWNED 2013 FORD FOCUS FOR 9 MONTHS WHEN WE NOTICED CAR WAS "SHUDDERING" AND "SLIPPING " INTO GEAR WHEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE. WE WERE PULLING ONTO A BUSY STREET AND OF COURSE HAD TO ACCELERATE. IT LUGGED AND DELAYED SHIFT INTO 2ND. THIS CAUSED LOWER THAN EXPECTED ACCELERATION AND BECAUSE WE COULD NOT GET UP TO SPEED IN THE TIME REQUIRED ALMOST GOT HIT. TOOK IT IN FOR PROBLEM IN 2/2014 AND THEY SAID IT WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK ( AT ONLY 5200 MILES!). FIXED LEAK AND SENT US HOME. THE SAME PROBLEM BECAME NOTICEABLE AGAIN. WE TOOK IT 6 MONTHS LATER (8/2014). MILEAGE WAS 9247. THEY SAID A PART OF THE CLUTCH WAS BROKEN NOW AND REPLACED THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. THE 3RD REPAIR WAS IN 4/2015 WHERE THEY REPROGRAMMED THE PCM-TCM AND SENT US HOME. IT IS CURRENTLY BACK AT FORD SERVICE SO 7/2015 WITH 16000 MILES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY SAID FORD IS CONSTANTLY WORKING ON A NEW CLUTCH TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY WILL MOST LIKELY REPLACE IT BUT "IT IS NOT GUARANTEED TO WORK!" FORD DID EXTEND THE WARRANTIES ON THE VEHICLE TO 100K FOR POWER TRAIN. WHICH DOES IS LITTLE GOOD IF WE HAVE TO BRING IT IN EVERY 4-6 MONTHS! TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING, THEN COMPLETE LOSS OF FORWARD MOTION WHILE IN TRAFFIC LANES. DEALER SAYS THAT THIS IS COMMON AND THERE IS A TWO WEEK WAITING LIST FOR REPAIR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 1 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT INTO A HIGHER GEAR AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLUTCH FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR JUST DIED. ENGINE SHUT OFF, HOW EVER ALL THE ELECTRICAL IN THE CAR WERE STILL WORKING. ONCE PULLING OFF THE FREE WAY, THE CAR STARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BUT THEN DIED SHORTLY AFTER. THE CAR THEN WOULD NOT WORK. AFTER GETTING THE CAR TOWED TO QUIRK FORD IN QUINCY THEY HAD TO KEEP IT AS A CODE THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS CAME UP, SO THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE CAR. THE CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP TO THIS DAY AND THEY WONT GIVE ME A RENTAL. *TR
WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR FROM A STOP, THE CAR WILL SHUDDER OFTEN SIGNIFICANTLY MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO MOVE THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME. HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND HAD THE ECU UPDATED. THIS HAS NOT HELPED. FORD SAYS THEY WILL REPLACE THE CLUTCH AS IT IS LEAKING FLUID (ON BACK ORDER FOR MONTHS) BUT THEY HAVE NOT STATED THAT IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM
WINDSHIELD WIPERS FROZE IN PLACE WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS TO THE RIGHT SIDE WIPER BUT YESTERDAY (3/12/14) NEITHER WIPER WOULD WORK AFTER A 20 MILE HIGHWAY DRIVE DURING A MODERATE SNOWFALL. THE CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1.) THE VEHICLE IS WARMED UP AND THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTED WITH THE NORMAL AUTOMOTIVE HVAC SYSTEM. 2.) THE WIPERS ARE USED DURING LOW SPEED DRIVING AND KEEP THE WINDSHIELD CLEAR. 3.) AT SPEEDS ABOVE 35MPH, LIGHT/MODERATE SNOW DOES NOT STICK TO THE WINDSHIELD SHIELD AND VISIBILITY IS BETTER WITHOUT THE WIPERS RUNNING. AT SOME POINT DURING TRAVEL WITH THE WIPERS OFF, THE MOISTURE FROM PREVIOUS WIPER USE CAUSES THE WIPERS TO FREEZE IN PLACE. 4.) THE WIPERS ARE NEEDED WHEN SPEED IS REDUCED OR ROADSPRAY IS ENCOUNTERED AND THEY DO NOT WORK BECAUSE THEY ARE FROZE BELOW WHERE THE DEFROSTER HEATS THE WINDSHIELD. AT THIS POINT I MUST STOP AND EXIT THE VEHICLE TO FREE THE WIPERS. I'VE THUS FAR BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO NOT HAVE ENCOUNTER SERIOUS ROADSPRAY WHILE MY WIPERS HAVE BEEN FROZEN IN PLACE, BUT FEEL IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I'M REQUIRE TO STOP IN A DANGEROUS/IMPRACTICABLE LOCATION TO FREE THE WIPERS. *TR
