WHEN I FIRST START MY CAR. THE STEERING FAULT MESSAGE COMES ON AND I CAN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON. THEN IT WORKS.I'M AFRAID THAT IT MAY LOCK WHILE DRIVING.
DOESN'T ACCELERATE HALF THE TIME WHEN I HIT GAS. DOESN'T GO REVERSE HALF THE TIME I PUT IT IN REVERSE. SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY. SHAKES , SHUTTERS. HAD CODES P07A3 AND P2872 SHOW UP AND FORD SAID THEY AREN'T TRANSMISSION RELATED EVEN THO BOTH CODES HAVE THE WORD " TRANSMISSION IN THE CODE SUMMARY. COULDN'T GET INVOLVED IN 55MILL LAWSUIT BECAUSE I HAVEN'T HAD 2 REPAIRS ON IT. BEEN IN SHOP SINCE 50K MILES GETTING SENIORS AND STUFF REPLACED. CAR HAS NEVER IMPROVED EVEN THO I KEEP SPENDING MONEY. IT'S BEEN IN SHOP 3 WEEKS NOW. THEY SAID MIGHT BE TRANS ISSUE NOW BUT THE RADIATOR IS MESSED UP AND THEY CAN'T PROCEED WITHOUT 600 DOLLARS. HELP BEFORE CAR KILLS SOME1. MILLIONS OF YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOW SAME ISSUES I HAVE. FORD DON'T DO ANYTHING BUT DENY CAUSE 1.8 CARS OUT THERE FROM THE SAME ASSEMBLY PLANT MINE IS FROM WITH SAME ISSUES
I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY PARENTS DRIVE WAY AND AS SOON AS I TURNED MY WHEEL STRAIGHT THE WIND SHIELD WIPERS STARTED GOING AND WOULD NOT STOP I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND TOOK THE KEY OUT AND THEY STILL WOULD NOT STOP AND THEN THEY STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THEY WORKED FOR 3 DAYS LIKE USUAL AND THEN THEY STARTED GOING BY THEMSELVES AGAIN AND ARE CURRENTLY NOT WORKING, I'VE TALKED TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND THEY HAD A RECALL ON THEIR WIPERS. IF IT STARTS RAINING I CAN NOT SEE BECAUSE SOMETIMES THEY REFUSE TO WORK, AND WHEN THEY START GOING BY THEMSELVES IT'S HARDER FOR ME TO SEE BECAUSE THEY GO FULL SPEED AND WILL NOT STOP EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND THE KEY IS OUT, THEY WENT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES WHILE MY CAR WAS OFF. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFTEY ISSUE AND IT'S HAPPENED TO MULTIPLE OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AS ME AND THEY DID EVERYTHING TO TRY TO FIX IT AND NOTHING WORKED.
TRANSMISSION TRANSMISSION TRANSMISSION THE CAR JERKS AND THE CLUTCH IS MESSED UP. I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH, REPEATED RECALLS.
I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THIS CAR SINCE I GOT IT 5 YEARS AGO. I WAS LEAVING TO TAKE MY SON TO A DR APPOINTMENT. I GOT ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SERVICE ENGINE NOW POPS UP. A LOUD POP SOUND CAME THRU MY SPEAKERS AND THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. THEN I STARTED LOSING RPMS AND POWER TO MY CAR IT WOULDN'T GO OVER 10MPH. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP IT BACK HOME VERY SLOWLY. I'M NOT SURE WHAT'S GOING ON I'VE REPLACED THE CRANKSHAFT/CAMSHAFT SENSOR AND PURGE VALVE. I'VE HAD ALL THE RECALLS FIXED ON IT DEALING WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. WHEN FORD MADE THIS CAR THEY CLEARLY WASN'T THINKING STRAIGHT. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE AND I'M SO GLAD WE MADE IT BACK HOME SAFE MY CHILD WAS TERRIFIED. NOTHING BUT A MONEY PIT AND I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF MONEY TO KEEP PUTTING IN A CAR THAT KEEPS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES OVER AND OVER.
TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE SLIPPING AS IF THE GEARS ARE NOT CATCHING DURING CERTAIN TIMES OF SHIFTING. ENGINE SEEMS TO LOSE COMPRESSION. MECHANIC AFTER MECHANIC SEEMS TO HAVE A HARD TIME DIAGNOSING AND REPAIRING ISSUES.
There are multiple issues going wrong with my car and I have 5 children and this makes me angry and scared to drive it 1. Vehicle completely shuts down if you go under 1/4 tank and NOT on red at all! No gas light or anything 2. The hesitation from stop to go is getting worse" mechanics tell me this is normal" for a focus and now sometimes when accelerating on the highway it gets stuck in certain speeds and feels rougher 3. Now there is a chain like rattling noise upon idle that is annoying and embarrassing 4 the codes state oxygen sensor ,speed sensor,fuel valve issue, and power train and abs... It's 100.00 per issue to diagnose. How is anyone able to afford this? I'm not a mechanic but everytime I take my car in they give it back saying there's no issue or I have to pay more fees to find the issue before anything can be replaced? This is crazy! I don't feel safe driving this car with my babies in it but with student loans and my kids school costs I can't seem to save if I'm paying all these fees to try to figure out what the issues are . The front windshield is horrible because it's hard to see out of even when I clean it w auto glass cleaner, which I have never experienced before and is very dangerous.
VEHICLE SHUDDERING ON ACCELERATION. AT AN INTERSECTION/FULL STOP CAR WOULD SPUTTER WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. AT CRUISING SPEEDS, RPM'S WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATE.
WHEN I GO AROUND CURVES IT'S JERKY AND HARD TO GET TO TURN. COULD BE DANGEROUS AND I'VE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT.
THE STEERING LOCKS UP WHILE DRIVING AND IS VERY HARD TO TURN. THERE IS NO LIGHT OR CODE. IT'S VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT FORD WILL BE HEARING FROM OUR LAWYERS. THIS SHOULD'VE HAVE BEEN RECALLED ALONG WITH THE OTHER MODELS AND YEARS THAT HAD THE SAME ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PROBLEMS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER PRIORITY FORD (3420 N MILITARY HWY, NORFOLK, VA 23518, (757)583-3673) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE BODY SECURITY MODULE (BSM) FUSE BOX TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 145,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering assist fault warning message was displayed. The vehicle lost power steering and the vehicle was difficult to steer. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the failure was corrected. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with steering control module failure. The steering control module and rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER 76,000 MILES. TRANSMISSION WOULD OCCASIONALLY SLIP EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS SINCE INITIAL PURCHASE. A FEW DAYS BEFORE TRANSMISSION FAILURE THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND WOULD HAVE INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION ISSUES. ULTIMATELY THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND ONCE PARKED, THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY START IN NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT TO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR AROUND 1-2 YEARS AND THEN WAS MAINTAINED IN A STORAGE STATE FOR 4 YEARS AND THEN WAS DRIVEN FOR ANOTHER 1-2 YEARS BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 76,000 MILES. THESE TRANSMISSIONS FAILING IS AND REPORTS SAY THAT IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE FROM THE START. TRANSMISSION ISSUES WHILE DRIVING POSE A MODERATE SAFETY CONCERN AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT ON THE ROAD IN A TRAFFIC CONDITION. BASED ON NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ON THIS VEHICLE, FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND AN OFFICIAL RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED FOR THE TRANSMISSION ON THE 2013 FORD FOCUS! THE CONDITIONS FOR THIS RECALL SHOULD BE BASED ON MEETING ONE (NOT BOTH) OF THE FOLLOWING: LESS THAN 7/10 YEARS, OR 100,000/150,000 MILES.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission was slipping. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle would fail to respond while attempting to drive from a complete stop or while shifting into gear. The transmission warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the transmission clutch and the transmission control module (TCM) were replaced twice by the dealer; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle started jerking. No warning lights were illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but the mechanic stated that he would not repair the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to a Ford dealer where it was diagnosed with a wiring failure. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The check engine warning light was then illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 199,862.
FORD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WONT GO AWAY!! TRANSMISSION SHUTTER AND POOR INITIAL ACCELERATION. THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND TCM TWICE BY FORD DEALER. AFTER THE LAST TCM REPLACEMENT IN 2016 PROBLEMS CONTINUED AND I WAS TURNED AWAY BY FORD DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE NO ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. NOW THAT FINALLY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON U0101, P07A3, I AM NOW OVER 100, 000 MILES THE CLUTCH IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE TCM IS. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS WHERE THE CAR LOST ALL ACCELERATION ABILITIES WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY OR SIMPLY FAIL TO ACCELERATE AND A TRAFFIC LIGHT CAUSING MAJOR DELAYS FOR ANYONE AROUND ME. IT HAS BEEN A SAFTEY CONCERN FOR YEARS DUE TO THE UNPREDICTABILITY OF THE TRANSMISSION INTERMITTENTLY NOT ALLOWING ACCELERATION.
GOT IN MY CAR TO GO WORK STARTED DOWN ROAD AND THE ADA'S IT SHOWED UP ON MY DASH THAT IT WAS THE TRANS FAULT SERVICE NOW I TURNED AROUND AND COME HOME. I CALLED THE SERVICE MAN AT FORD PLACE WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. BEFORE THIS HAPPENED THE CAR WAS TAKING TO THEM BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT PULLING RIGHT THEY LOOKED AT IT AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG AND I CALLED THEM AND NOTHING WAS DONE IN JUNE 2019 AND NOW MY CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE NOW IT'S BEEN DOWN SINCE 12/24/2020 I CALLED THE FORD PLACE AND THEY CAN'T GET IT IN TILL 01/04/2021. THIS HAS BEEN VERY INCONVENIENT FOR NOT DO I HAVE HEALTH ISSUES,BUT MY DAUGHTER IS 81/2 MONTHS PREGNANT AND I HAVE NO WAY TO GO . I'VE ONLY HAVE HAD THIS CAR 1YEAR AND 8 MONTHS AND IT'S BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE..
THE CAR ISN'T DRIVABLE. WHEN I START IT IT MAKES CLICKING NOISE AND HARD TO START. IF DRIVING IT, IT DOESN'T GIVE ANY GAS OR GO OVER 20 MILES. IT SOMETIMES SHUT OFF AND SOMETIMES HAVE A HARD TIME DRIVING FOWARD. CODES P0087, P0783, P2872, COMES UP ON A DIAGNOSTIC. THAT'S DRIVING ON A STREET AND CAN'T DRIVE ON HIGHWAY ANYMORE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND PARKED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT WAITED FOR FIVE MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, AND CONTINUED DRIVING TO HER DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LARRY H. MILLER SUPER FORD (1340 500 W, SALT LAKE CITY, UT 84115, (801) 783-4473) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE CLUTCH TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,232.
CAR IS LESS THAN 6 YEARS OLD, STEERING COMPLETELY FAILS IN VERY COLD WEATHER DESPITE A FULLY ELECTRIC EPAS STEERING SYSTEM (NO POWER STEERING FLUID). IN ADDITION TO THE RADIATOR AND FUEL PUMP NEEDING REPLACEMENT WITHIN THE FULL LIFESPAN OF THIS CAR, IT IS VERY UNSAFE AND NOT ROAD WORTHY.
Loss of power when engaged, transmission slips to lower gear causing u to slow down and will not engage back in to drive then jerks when gas is applied. I have eluded several accidents and cause others to swerve to miss me. Check engine light is on. When taken in to dealer they have changed the TCM 3 or 4 times but is still doing the same thing.
THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL ACTUAL FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. IT WAS AS IF THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO GEAR. WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, IT WOULD ONLY REV THE RPMS HIGH AND FALL BACK DOWN, NO REACTION BY THE TRANSMISSION WHATSOEVER. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY SEVERAL CARS WHILE TRYING TO MOVE OVER, WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT RESPONDING TO MY GAS PEDAL. THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL/EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE TCM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FOR MY VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND I SCANNED THE CODE WITH A PROFESSIONAL OBD2 READER. THE CODE WAS FOR TCM. CAPITAL FORD AT CHARLOTTE CALLED ME AND TOLD ME IT WAS THE "SHIFT ACTUATOR", (A $60 PART), NOT THE TCM, AND IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THEY WANTED $2800 TO REPLACE THE PART, A $60 PART. I CALLED FORD, AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER TO "TRY" TO GET IT REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE SERVICE DIRECTOR AT CAPITAL FORD TOLD ME HE CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS FORD TELLS HIM TO DO SO, AND THUS FAR THEY HAVE NOT APPROVED ANYTHING TO BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY STILL HAVE MY CAR IN THE SHOP. THIS IS A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN. I AM GLAD IT WAS ME DRIVING AND NOT MY WIFE.
MY VEHICLE GIVES A "STOP SAFELY NOW" WARNING IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WITH A RED TRIANGLE ICON. THIS IS ACCOMPANIED BY A LOSS OF POWER AND A SUDDEN STALL OR INABILITY TO EVEN START. IT HAS HAPPENED BOTH WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WHILE IT WAS STOPPED.
I HAVE SEEN MANY VIDEOS ON YOU TUBE ON WHAT COULD OF BEEN WRONG AND THEY ALL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WHICH WAS THE STEERING RACK AND PINION VERY EXPENSIVE AND UNSAFE FIX MY CHILD WAS IN THE CAR WHILE WE WAS DRIVING WHEN MINE BROKE ONLY 28 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR NOT VERY HAPPY
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY USING MY CRUISE CONTROL AND THE MOTOR REVVED UP REALLY HIGH AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I TOOK IT OFF CRUISE CONTROL AND THE TRANSMISSION WASN'T GOING INTO TO ANY GEAR. I HAD TO START OFF IN LOW GEAR AND WHEN I GOT TO 15-20MPH PUT IN DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION JERKS SO HARD IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE HAD HIT US FROM BEHIND IVE BEEN READING UP ON THIS AND I FEEL THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. ALSO THE POWER STEERING HAS SHOWED 2 TIMES THERES SOMETHING FAILING ON IT TURNING AROUND IN A PARLING LOT AND ALL THE SUDDEN IMA NOT ABLE TO TURN ALMOST HIT 2 PEOPLE. IT WAS HORRIBLE.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF FUEL DUE TO A FUEL GAUGE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) IN NOVEMBER 2020 AT TUTTLE-CLICK'S CAPISTRANO FORD (33301 CAMINO CAPISTRANO, SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA 92675) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE CLUTCH AND THE SHIFTING UNIT NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 134,000.
WIRING HARNESS IN TRUNK ALL WIRES ARE EITHER BROKEN OR EXPOSED CA'T ACCESS MY TRUNK HAVE TO PUT DOWN BACK SEAT AND GO TO TRUNK TO OPEN
I HAVE HAD MY FOCUS IN THE SHOP AT LEAST 6 TIMES FOR THE TRANSMISSION. EACH TIME THEY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE CLUTCHES & SEALS. NOW THEY SAY IT NEEDS THE CLUTCHES, SEALS, THROW OUT BEARING AND FORKS AT A COST OF $2231.00 & IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW IN 2013 & FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IT HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST BE HIT SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WON'T SHIFT CORRECTLY. I WOULD SAY THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AS WELL AS MECHANICAL.
I WAS DRIVING INSIDE TOWN WHEN I BEGAN TO FEEL THE STEERING GETTING STIFF. I STOPPED TO GET GAS TO ONLY FIND OUT THAT THE STEERING GOT MUCH STIFFER AND WAS MAKING SQUEAKY SOUND. AFTER THAT IT WAS VERY TOUGH TO DRIVE BACK HOME. AFTER REACHING AND STOPPING THE CAR THE STEERING WHEEL HAS COMPLETELY GONE STIFF. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANYTHING.
POWER ASSIST FAULT FAILED. IT HAS BEEN RECALLED ON ALL OTHER FORD MODELS EXCEPT 2013 FORD FOCUS. I STARTED MY CAR AND POWER ASSIST FAULT APPEARED NEEDING SERVICE. I COULD NOT MOVE MY STEERING WHEEL. LUCKILY THE CAR WAS PARKED AS THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF I WERE DRIVING. SINCE OTHER FORD MODELS WERE RECALLED WHY NOT THE MAKE AND MODEL OF MY VEHICLE? IT IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE TO FIX.
THE CAR SHUDDERS WHEN TRYING TO SPEED UP AFTER A STOP, THIS HAPPENS ON AND OFF, BUT, VERY FREQUENTLY. IT ALSO PRODUCES A SLIGHT CLANGING SOUND WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ONCE THE CAR SHUDDERS IT WILL CONTINUE SHUDDERING EVERY TIME YOU STOP FOR THE REST OF THE DRIVE. THIS IS CONCERNING AS THE CAR KIND OF STRUGGLES TO JUMP TO THE NEXT GEAR.

THAT'S AT 60MPH! DIAGNOSTIC DONE SHOWED THE ENTIRE STEERING UNIT, GEAR, COMPUTER UNIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL OR WARRANTY PER FORD COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE AND LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. COST 2146.50 OUT OF POCKET! NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ISSSUE BUT RATHER A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. SO WHY ISN'T FORD RECALLING OR EXTENDING WARRANTY?! THEY NEED TO. IT IS VERY UNSAFE AND A COMMON FIND IN THESE CARS.

I PURCHASED A FORD FOCUS SE FROM MCCARTHY FORD IN ILLINOIS IN 2015. SINCE HAVING THE CAR, I'VE CONSTANTLY EXPERIENCED JERKING WHILE ACCELERATING, LACK OF ACCELERATION, WHICH WAS DANGEROUS, WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, OR ON THE HIGHWAY WITH TRUCKS SPEEDING BY YOU BECAUSE MY CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE QUICK ENOUGH. I CONSTANTLY COMPLAINED TO FORD DEALER ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND THE KEPT REPAIRING IT UNDER THE GUISE THAT 'OH YOUR TCM(TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) BEDS REPROGRAMMING' OR IT WAS 'YOUR CAR WAS ORIGINALLY A STICK SHIFT THAT THEY TURNED AUTOMATIC, AND WHAT YOU FEEL, IS YOUR CAR SHIFTING GEARS'. THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY ASSURED ME I DIDN'T HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES, SO I LET THEM FIX THIS SAME ISSUE MORE THAN 5 TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF WARRANTY. IN JULY 2020, MY CAR STOPPED AND WOULDN'T DRIVE AT ALL. I TOOK IT TO FORD, AND THEY CLAIMED IT WAS THE TCM AGAIN, AND SUPPOSEDLY FIXED WITH NO CUSTOMER TO ME. HOWEVER, THE CAR NEVER STOP JERKING OR THE ACCELERATION WAS ALWAYS LACKING, LIKE IT'S ALWAYS DONE, BEFORE AND AFTER A REPAIR. OCTOBER 11,2020, I TAKE MY CAR IN FOR THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS, AND NOW I NEED A TRANSMISSION CLUTCH, THAT FORD CLAIMS IS $1700 DOLLARS TO FIX. MY CAR WHEN AT IDLE OR DRIVING AT LOW RPM (900-2000) WILL STALL OUT AND NOT START FOR A WHILE. IVE REPLACED FUEL PRESSURE SENSORS AND THE INJECTION PUMP, AND IT STILL STALLING.

AFTER THE TCM ADAPTIVE LEARNING IT SHIFTS FINE BUT THE DTC'S WILL COME BACK ON IN A FEW DAYS. THE DTC'S ARE P2831, P2833, AND P287B. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO? THE BATTERY AND BATTERY CABLES ARE FINE.

UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
THERE IS A SHUDDER ON TAKE OFF AND VIBRATION WHILE ACCELERATING - 2013 FORD FOCUS. 2013 FORD FOCUS TO VIBRATE UPON ACCELERATION. FROM YOUR DESCRIPTION, IT DESCRIBING AN ENGINE MISFIRE. MISFIRES CAN BE CAUSED BY MANY ISSUES, BUT THE MOST COMMON ARE SPARK PLUGS, COIL, FUEL PUMP, FUEL INJECTORS, MAF SENSOR, VACUUM LEAKS, OR A WIRING HARNESS FAULT.
WHILE DRIVING ONLY 20 MINUTES ON HIGHWAY THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST SHOP. THEY SAID THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE FAILED WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT. THE NEXT DAY THEY SAID THAT DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT NEEDED A HEAD GASKET REPLACED. AFTER OPENING THE ENGINE THEY SAID THAT ITS WARPED. THE CAR (SE MODEL) HAS ONLY 84000 MILES AND WAS A CERTIFIED PREOWNED CAR WE BOUGHT FEB 2016. I WILL BE CONTACTING FORD MANUFACTURER ON A POSSIBLE RECALL #19522 AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP AS THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE 7 YEAR 100000 WARRANTY.
