MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IN HER 2014 FORD FOCUS SE ON THE INTERSTATE. I WAS A PASSENGER AS SHE ONLY HAS HER LEARNERS PERMIT. ALL THE SUDDEN SHE COMPLAINED THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO STEER. I SAW HER HAVING A PHYSICALLY HARD TIME STEERING THE VEHICLE. I LOOKED AT THE DASHBOARD AND SAW THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE INDICATOR ICON (ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST STEERING - EPAS)ACTIVATED ON THE DASHBOARD. MY DAUGHTER CONTINUED TO STRUGGLE TO MAINTAIN THE VEHICLE SAFELY DUE TO THE POWER STEERING ISSUE. SHE DROVE TO THE NEAREST EXIT WHICH WAS EVEN WORSE THAN THE HIGHWAY. SHE HAD TROUBLE STEERING THROUGH THE "S" TURNS ON THE EXIT RAMP. SHE CAME TO THE INTERSECTION, LUCKILY THE LIGHT WAS GREEN AND SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO STOP TO TURN RIGHT, BUT IT WASN'T MUCH HELP. WHILE TURNING ONTO ANOTHER TWO LANE HIGHWAY SHE ALMOST HIT THE CONCRETE MEDIUM DUE TO THE EPAS FAILURE. WATCHING HER DRIVE THE VEHICLE REMINDED ME WHEN I DROVE MY GRANDFATHERS OLD DODGE DART; NO POWER STEERING. I UNDERSTAND
I'VE NOT HAD A FUEL GAUGE SINCE MY 4TH WARRANTY REPAIR (TURBO REPLACEMENT TURNED CATASTROPHIC AND INCURRED WARRANTED ENGINE REPLACEMENT AS THEY BLEW IT IN SHOP AND HAD IT FOR ALMOST THREE MONTHS) AND I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL. AND I AM NOW GONNA HAVE TO GO BACK AND GET IT FIXED AS THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR ME. I KEEP A GALLON OF FUEL I'N MY CAR, SO I'M BASICALLY HUFFING FUMES ALL THE DANG TIME IM IN MY CAR.. I MUST KEEP A GALLON OF FUEL IN THE CAR DUE TO THE SUDDEN STALLS AND THE SUBSEQUENT CRANK, WONT START ISSUES. UP UNTIL AFTER MY CAR WAS "REPAIRED".. I DIDN'T HAVE ISSUE UNTIL ID DONE RUN OUT OF FUEL AND OR RUN OUT OF OUTA FUEL AND STALLED IN MOST PRECARIOUS PLACES WHILST IN MOTION AND DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I'D RUN OUT OF FUEL AND MY CAR WOULD SPUTTER AND DIE. I'VE WALKED UP TO 12 MILES TO GET TO A GAS STATION LUCKILY. I AM NOT COOL WITH THIS [XXX] CAUSE I BOUGHT IT WITH LIL TO NO MILEAGE AND NEW OFF THE LOT.... [XXX] HAS A RING TO IT IF ANYONE COULD HELP... TO AN ERRATIC AT BEST CASE I'VE BEEN STRANDED WITH NO PHONE, NO FOOD NOR WATER AT LEAST THREE TIMES. AND THEY THINK I'M GONNA BRING IT IN FOR SERVICE AND ALLOW THEM TO SCREW ME OVER AGAIN? DON'T THINK I HAVE A LOT OF TRUST FOR FORD NO MO.... I HOPE THEY STOP PLAYING AROUND WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES AS SEEMINGLY EXPENDABLES AND WASTING OUR VALUABLE TIME AND MONEY. The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated while at the gas station there was a failure with the vehicle shaking and making unknown sounds. The contact also stated that the vehicle was restarted. The contact also stated he had completed the fuel system recall and had the engine replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle would stall and had to be restarted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and diagnosed with fuel system failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. The components and systems that failed are my engine and gas tank, they both are available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at risk, approximately two minutes before my vehicle slowed down enough to stop my brakes wouldn’t work. Yes I have called the dealership and the problems that the representative listed explaining a recall; is what I have been experiencing with my vehicle. Yes, 6/15/2022 the day after my engine failed my car was diagnosed by All 4 U Auto and he confirmed that the engine had blown and along with the gasoline tank both needed replacements. No, there were no warning lamps nor messages prompting alerts of my vehicle. There were several symptoms of the problem prior to the failure that occurred before and after the Ford recall; 18S32. I completed the recall fuel tank deformation 1/3/2019. I am still experiencing issues with my gas tank, which are listed on the official Ford website. I can only pump approximately 80 miles worth of gas or 1/4 full worth of gas. If I pump anymore the vehicle will stall and require for me to restart it multiple times 2 - 10, the more I “over pump” the more I will have to restart and longer it will stall. During pumping even 1/4 worth of gas my entire vehicle will shake and make a loud sound, and with re cranking causing engine malfunction. The website mentions; “Owners are advised to maintain at least a half tank of fuel until their vehicle is serviced for this issue.” although I can only pump 1/4 full worth of gas at a time. Another issue is I cannot leave the vehicle idle over 5 minutes, even when in traffic if I do not keep driving up 6 inches every five minutes it will turn off. This problem has negatively affected my battery, on a few occasions leaving the vehicle idle has caused my battery to need to be recharged and replaced. Lastly the vehicle does exactly what the recall mentions; “inaccurate fuel gauge readings”. While pumping gas the mileage on the dashboard sometimes does not increase. I am requesting an entirely new vehicle replacement, or at least a new motor engine, gasoline tank, catalytic converter and battery. I believe the malfunctioning of these products were due to the recall 18S32, which caused stalling and repeated re cranking of my vehicle.
TRANSMISSION WORK TEMPORARILY IN REVERSE. THEN REVERSE GOES OUT COMPLETELY. I'M ABOUT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK FOR REPAIR THE 5TH TIME. AND I'M VERY FRUSTRATED AND MAD. THAT I CAN'T DRIVE IT. I WANT ANOTHER VEHICLE OR BE COMPENSATED ME A CHECK FOR THE VEHICLE SO I CAN GET ANOTHER ONE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOORS USING THE KEYS. THE CONTACT ALSO WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS JUMP STARTED BUT WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED MULTIPLE TIMES TO CHENANGO SALES INC LOCATED AT 976 NY-12, GREENE, NY 13778, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING BODY CONTROL MODULE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, TWO WEEKS LATER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,713.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT AND LOW COOLANT LEVEL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE CONTACT TRIED A SECOND TIME AND THE VEHICLE STARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V813000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND 13V523000 (POWER TRAIN) AS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THE FAILURES HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *DT CONSUMER STATES THAT FAILURE WAS THE SAME AS SAFETY RECALL 13S09 FOR REPROGRAMMING. CONSUMER SAYS THAT THE FLASHER WARNING LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN OFF TO BE RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT STALLED IN MOVING TRAFFIC. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GALPIN FORD (VAN NUYS, CA) WHERE THE SOFTWARE WAS REPROGRAMMED. MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE, BUT REFUSED TO ASSIST. *DL
WE RECIEVED A TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING INDICATOR STATING WE HAD TO PULL OVER TO ALLOW IT TO COOL DOWN DURING STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. WE JUST HAD THE 8TH CLUTCH PLACED IN THE CAR!
I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE HIGHWAY 80 IN THE LEFT HAND LANE , READY TO PASS A SEMI TRUCK WHEN THE CAR LOST ALL POWER FROM THE ENGINE A LIGHT CAME ON AND IT READ ENGINE DEFAULT SERVICE NOW OK , AS ALL POWER WAS SHUT DOWN . I WAS THEN FORCED TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY LANE . I WAS ALMOST RAN OVER BY TWO SEMI TRUCKS COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF HIGHWAY 80. I HAD IT SERVICED AT PHIL LONG FORD CHAPPEL HILLS IN COLORADO SPRINGS AND THEY WANTED $4500 TO FIX IT .
ON MY WAY HOME, THE CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A CLICKETY CLACKETY NOISE. IT SOUNDED LIKE A BELT WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT. I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND POPPED THE HOOD. I WATCHED THE BOTTOM GEAR WHEEL BREAK OFF THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. HAD I BEEN ON THE ROAD, IT COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC. IN THE ATTACHED PHOTO, YOU CAN SEE THE METAL RIPPED CLEAN OFF AT ALL THREE LOCATIONS.
I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. CAME TO A STOP AT A LIGHT AND SOMEONE ON A BICYCLE CAME BY. WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE MY RPM'S SHOT WAY HIGH AND MY CAR TRIED TO DRIVE ITSELF FORWARD. LUCKILY THE BIKE RIDER HAD GONE BY. BUT COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN HIT IF MY CAR DID WHAT IT TRIED TO DO. I HAVE BEEN HONKED AT AND HIGH BEAMED WHEN I TRY TO PASS SOMEONE ON A HIGHWAY AND I END UP WITH LITTLE TO NO POWER AND THE PERSON BEHIND ME NEARLY REAR ENDS ME BECAUSE MY CAR WONT GO. WHY DOES IT FEEL LIKE SOMEONE HAS TO TRAGICALLY DIE BEFORE SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THESE FORD FOCUS' ON THE ROAD. THESE CARS ARE NOT SAFE. FORD KNEW THAT, THERE IS PROOF THEY KNEW THAT AND MADE THEM ANYWAY. ITS YOUR JOB AS HIGHWAY SAFETY TO MAKE THEM LIABLE AND GET BETTER STANDARDS BEFORE CARS ARE SENT TO DISTRIBUTION. THERE SHOULD BE MORE PREVENTION THAN THERE IS CORRECTING. DON'T WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO GET HURT BEFORE DECIDING THESE CARS ARE BAD AND UNSAFE. THAT SHOULD BE A BASIC HUMAN REACTION. NOT A CORPORATE ONE. I HAVE SENT TWO VIDEOS I TOOK. ONE OF MY RPMS SPORADICALLY GOING UP AND DOWN AND MY CAR NOT SHIFTING OR HAVING POWER. AND THE OTHER MY RPM'S GOING UP AS I'M COMING TO A STOP. WHICH IS NOT NORMAL. IT SHOULD NOT TRY TO REV ITSELF AS I'M SLOWING DOWN TO AN ALMOST COMPLETE STOP. I GUESS I CANT UPLOAD THE TYPE OF VIDEO I HAVE. BUT I'D BE HAPPY TO SEND THEM ANOTHER WAY IF YOU'D LIKE.
THE CAR'S SPEAKERS, RANDOMLY AND WITHOUT ANY SORT OF PREDICTABILITY, LET OUT AND INCREDIBLY LOUD CRACKLING/SCREECHING/SOUND TO THE POINT OF HURTING YOUR EARDRUMS. IT IS VERY STARTLING, IT EITHER PERSISTS AND DOES NOT STOP (SOMETIMES FOR HOURS) OR STOPS AND SPORADICALLY RETURNS. THIS ISSUE HAS EVEN CAUSED ME TO JERK WHILE DRIVING AS IT IS VERY LOUD AND SCARY. TURNING VOLUME DOWN DOESN'T DO ANYTHING, TURNING THE SYNC SYSTEM OFF DOESN'T DO ANYTHING, THIS SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS NOT EVEN ON (KEY ISN'T IN IGNITION). IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS THIS PROBLEM IS SO LOUD AND UNPREDICTABLE THAT IT CAN CERTAINLY LEAD TO A CAR ACCIDENT. HAVING READ THROUGH A LOT OF ONLINE FORUMS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.
TOOK MY FOCUS IN TO HAVE A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RECALL CLUTCH REPLACEMENT FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I EXPERIENCED BAD JERKING AND ACCELERATION ISSUES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CLUTCH 2 1/2 MONTHS AGO. I'M NOW AT THE DEALER WITH MY ENGINE LIGHT ON ON AND SEVERELY BAD JERKING AND SHIFTING ISSUES AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSTIC SAYS I NEED 2 TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVERS REPLACED (LEVERS A &B) COST IN EXCESS OF $1000. THIS TRANSMISSION AS A WHOLE IS DEFECTIVE. WHY IS FORD GETTING AWAY WITH THIS???
TCM REPLACED 66,550, CLUTCH PACK REPLACED 68,148, AND COMPLETE COMMUNICATION FAILURE BETWEEN THE THROTTLE AND TRANSMISSION, TONIGHT AT 82,000 MILES, I FULLY OPENED THE THROTTLE PEDAL DOWN, AND TRANSMISSION FAILED TO GIVE ME ANY ACCELERATION FOR 3-5 SECONDS.THIS ALMOST CAUSED A BAD SITUATION TONIGHT. RADIATOR REPLACED AT 77,600, COOLANT STILL DROPS TO THE MIN- LINE. NO REASONING ON WHERE THE COOLANT IS GOING.
THE HORN STOPPED WORKING APPROX. DECEMBER 17, 2019. VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 155500 MILES. HORN DOES NOT SOUND WHEN VEHICLE IS LOCKED USING KEY FOB. HORN DOES NOT SOUND WHEN CENTER OF STEERING WHEEL IS PRESSED. ONE TRAFFIC INCIDENT ALREADY REQUIRED THE HORN'S USE AND IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I VERIFIED MYSELF THAT THE FUSE WORKS AND ALSO THAT THE RELAY WORKS. I ALSO ACCESSED THE HORN ITSELF AND TAPPED IT WHICH MADE NO DIFFERENCE. THE HORN IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE ALTHOUGH USED INFREQUENTLY. IT IS NOT SUBJECT TO WEAR AND TEAR AS A WIPER BLADE WOULD BE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. AFTER THE CONTACT PRESSED THE PUSH START BUTTON TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, IT DID NOT SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY TURNED OFF INDEPENDENTLY AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
I WAS SETTING AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURN GREEN I STOP ON THE GAS A LITTLE TO START GOING BUT IT HESITATING AND THE WOULD NOT GO . IT JUST KEPT HESITATING AND CAR BEHIND ME LADE ON THE HORN. IT WOULD GO A LITTLE BIT AND STOP AGAIN. IT KEEP DOING THAT AT EVERY LIGHT I STOP AT.
I WILL BEGIN WITH MY CONCERN AND THEN PROCEED TO GIVE YOU MY BACK STORY. I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN A VERY REAL BROADSIDE COLLISION WITH AN 18-WHEELER AND ANOTHER FORD F-150 ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHEN THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR THROUGH THE TURN. THE BEST WAY I CAN DESCRIBE THIS IS THE FEELING/NOISE WE'VE ALL HAD LEARNING TO DRIVE WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND YOU MISS THE GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE WAS REACHING THE REV LIMITER. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE. I'M VERY FORTUNATE IN THE FACT THAT THE ONCOMING VEHICLES WERE ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I HAD TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK, THEN PUT IT BACK IN GEAR TO GET IT GOING AGAIN.THE CAR JUST REACHED 55,000 MILES AND I'VE HAD TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR WARRANTY WORK ON THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY FIVE TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE VARIOUS SERVICE MANAGERS BOTH TO 'DRIVE THE HELL OUTTA THE THING' TO WEAR IN THE CLUTCH PROPERLY. I'VE BEEN CONVERSELY TOLD TO 'DRIVE LIKE A GRANDMA' IN ORDER TO WEAR IN THE CLUTCH PROPERLY. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT MY SAFETY CONCERN AND HE STATES THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO 'AT THE DEALERSHIP LEVEL' AND ENCOURAGED ME TO REACH OUT TO FORD CONSUMER AFFAIRS. HIS NEXT OFFER WAS TO 'SIT ME DOWN WITH ONE OF THE SALESMAN' IN ORDER TO 'GET ME INTO SOMETHING BETTER'. I'M NOT IN A FINANCIAL POSITION TO 'GET INTO SOMETHING BETTER'. I HAD PLANNED ON KEEPING THIS CAR FOR ANOTHER 2-3 YEARS AT LEAST. THIS WOULD GET ME THROUGH SCHOOL AND AS MY INCOME POTENTIAL INCREASED, I PLANNED TO TRADE MY FOCUS TOWARDS A LARGER VEHICLE. I WANT TO REITERATE THAT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH A BABY IN IT. THE CAR CONTINUES TO JUMP OUT OF GEAR, LEAVING THE VEHICLE POWERLESS AT RANDOM TIMES, DESPITE RECENT CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS, ESPECIALLY IN THE COLD WEATHER.
HAD TO HAVE 4 OR 5 DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION SERVICES DONE UNDER WARRANTY TO RESOLVE HARSH SHIFTING, ERRATIC SHIFTING, BUCKING ETC. INLUDING TOTAL CLUTCH REBUILDS, SOFTWARE FLASHES, AND TOTAL TCM REPLACEMENT AND THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED.
VEHICLE ALERT "STOP SAFELY NOW" CAME ON AND VEHICLE DEPOWERED WHILE IN MOTION, DRIVING STRAIGHT ON APPROXIMATELY 8/28/2019. PROBLEM REPEATED MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN VEHICLE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY STOPPED SAME DAY. SIMILAR TO PROBLEMS EXPLAINED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V-523. IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, A POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE PROBLEM MAY RESULT IN A STALL-LIKE CONDITION. PROBLEM REPEATED ITSELF EACH TIME A START WAS ATTEMPTED 11/25-12/3/19, WHILE CAR WAS PARKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. PRIOR TO A ROAD TRIP, THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE LUG WRENCH WOULD NOT FIT THE LUG NUTS BECAUSE THEY WERE SWOLLEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AL PACKER FORD WEST PALM BEACH (LOCATED AT 1530 N MILITARY TRL, WEST PALM BEACH, FL 33409, (561) 689-6550) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LUG NUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS25082526. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CAR RECEIVED A STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT SERVICE REQUIRED CODE. LEFT US WITH NI POWER STEERING. CAR ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT. WARRANTY EXPIRED DUE TO HAVING CAR OVER 6 YEARS. IRONICALLY THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THE SAME DAY THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. NOW WE HAVE NO TRANS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS A REAL AND YET CONCEALED ISSUE BY FORD AND ALL THEIR EMPLOYEES ? WHAT THE HECK, WE WERE ALMOST KILLED ON THANKSGIVING AND VEHICLE WE WERE RIDING IN WOULD NOT SHIFT.

I KNOW THIS DEFECT IS KNOWN BY FORD SINCE SOME RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED BUT TO TRY TO REPAIR THE CONCERN. MY CAR'S 'ELECTRIC UNIQUE COMPONENT' 8 YEAR WARRANTY IS STILL VALID BUT FORD IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLES 12V BATTERY DIED DUE TO THE PROBLEM BUT THEY MADE ME PURCHASE A NEW ONE FOR $180. I BELIEVE I SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN CHARGED SINCE THE ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY THE CARS DEFECT. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR 2 WEEKS WITH NO RESOLUTION. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY HAD IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK, CALLED AND TOLD ME THEY REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AGAIN HOWEVER THERE WAS MORE DAMAGE. ITS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS IT NEEDS A NEW CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, SLAVE CYLINDER AND 2 CLUTCH RELEASE LEVERS. THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS MY FAULT AND IT WOULD COST ME ABOUT $2000. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY CAR I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THIS. I CAN'T AFFORD THE $2000 RIGHT NOW AND I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON MY CAR EVERY MONTH. AFTER DOING SOME INVESTIGATING TURNS OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ISSUE MY CAR WAS HAVING. MY CAR WAS IN SHOP IN MAY OF THIS YEAR FOR A CLUTCH REPLACEMENT. AT THE TIME THE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP LET ME KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL AND SAID IT WAS COMPLETED WITH NO FINDINGS AT THE TIME. WELL HERE WE ARE IN NOVEMBER AND MY CAR WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE RECALL PART. THE DEALERSHIP REACHED OUT TO FORD AND REQUESTED A REIMBURSEMENT AND THEY DECLINED STATING ONCE A RECALL IS CLOSED OUT THERE IS NO WAY TO REOPEN AND ISSUE A REFUND. I WANT TO KNOW IF ANYTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT THE PROLIFERATION OF HIGH INTENSITY HEADLAMPS BOTH AT THE OEM AND THE AFTERMARKET LEVEL. THESE HEADLAMPS ARE BLINDING EVEN ON THE LOW BEAM LEVEL. TYPICALLY IN RURAL AREAS I HAVE TO WEAR SUNGLASSES TO AVOID BECOMING BLINDED BY ONCOMING VEHICLES.

THEY ALSO PERFORMED THE RECALL REPAIR - "18S32 FUEL TANK DEFORMATION RECALL", AND, "18S32-A CHECK FOR AVAILABLE PCM SOFTWARE UPDATE, NO AVAILABLE SOFTWARE UPDATE, NO PARTS REPLACED." THE TRANSMISSION IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES. WANTED TO SEND THIS TO NHTSA SO THERE IS A RECORD OF ANOTHER ONE. WILL UPDATE IN FUTURE SHOULD TRANNY FAIL AGAIN. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, THINKING IT MIGHT BE A SOFTWARE GLITCH. WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE, NOTHING HAPPENED. I HAD TO PUSH THE CAR INTO THE SPACE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK" APPEARED ON THE MESSAGE CENTER. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWO OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
