I STARTED MY CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I PUT IT IN GEAR AND IT HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. IT ALSO WHEN I HAD IT IN PARK AND WENT TO PUT IT IN DRIVE, IT STARTED GOING IN REVERSE. HAD A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE AND IT CAME BACK: P0902 CLUTCH ACTUATOR CIRCUIT LOW. I ONLY DRIVE THE CITY STREETS.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON YESTERDAY OUT OF NOWHERE. CAR STARTED JERKING BAD AS I TOOK OFF. SLOWLY BUT GETTING WORSE TIL I HAD TO STOP. THEN DIDN'T WANNA CRANK BACK UP. STRANGE. SO WE HEAR A LOUD TICKING NOISE .. THIS IS WITH KEYS OUT OF THE CAR IGNITION.... I PUT KEYS IN , STILL NOTHING. EVENTUALLY IT CRANK BUT NO REVERSE. GOD HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!
VEHICLE LOSES POWER TO THE POINT OF ALMOST STALLING OUT, AND THEN SURGES FORWARD, SPINNING THE BACK TIRES. THIS HAPPENED ON A HILL, AND I WAS ALMOST HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME! THE RPM'S REV WAY UP AND THE ENGINE WON'T SHIFT. THE CAR SHUDDERS AND JERKS AND WON'T GET GOING UPON TAKE OFF. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AT AN INTERSECTION/STOP LIGHT, AND I AM AFRAID I AM GOING TO BE REAR ENDED. THE CAR WILL NOT GET GOING WHEN IT'S SUPPOSED TO.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE WIPER DELAY STOPS WORKING OR STARTS UP AFTER A DELAY INTO ANOTHER SETTING. FROM DELAY TO FULL WIPERS. SET THE WIPER ARM INTO ANOTHER COMMAND AND IT WORKS FINE AGAIN.

WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AFTER REVERSING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, IT WOULD SHIFT INTO DRIVE BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T GO
VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR NHTSA #18V735 CANISTER PURGE VALVE/FUEL TANK DEFORMATION. WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHEEHY FORD OF GAITHERSBURG DEALERSHIP (MARYLAND) FOR CLUTCH REPLACEMENT IN JULY, 2019, DEALERSHIP ALSO CHECKED RECALLED CPV AND DEEMED IT WAS FINE AT THAT TIME. IN EARLY OCTOBER, 2019, APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS LATER, CPV STARTS FAILING, REMAINING "STUCK" OPEN, AND VEHICLE DOESN'T START AFTER FUELING. WHEN IT FINALLY STARTS, VEHICLE'S ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REVVED IN ORDER TO KEEP FROM STALLING. FORD AND DEALERSHIP SAY THEY WILL NO LONGER PAY FOR REPLACEMENT OF RECALLED CPV BECAUSE "IT WAS FINE WHEN THEY CHECKED IT" TWO MONTHS PRIOR. OWNERS WITH RECALLED VEHICLES HAVE UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2019 FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF PRIOR CPV FIX OR COVERED REPLACEMENT OF FAILED, RECALLED PART, HOWEVER. WHILE THIS HAS NOT YET CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD, IT IS A RECALLED PART ON OUR VEHICLE, AND FORD SHOULD STILL COVER REPLACEMENT OF RECALLED PARTS, ESPECIALLY AS WE ARE WITHIN THE GIVEN TIME FRAME OF COVERED REPLACEMENT. ALSO, IF WE HAD NOT HAD TO BRING VEHICLE IN FOR CLUTCH REPLACEMENT JUST TWO MONTHS EARLIER, THE RECALL WOULD STILL BE OPEN ON OUR VEHICLE.

WHEN PULLING OFF FROM A STOP THE CAR SHUDDERS AND SHAKES. THERE IS ZERO POWER BEHIND IT WHEN PULLING OUT NO MATTER A FLAT ROAD OR HILL. WHEN GOING UP HILL THE CAR STRUGGLES GREATLY. WHEN YOU ADD PASSENGERS TO THE EQUATION IT GETS INCREDIBLY WORSE. WHEN THERE ARE PASSENGERS IN THE CAR WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP THE CAR SHAKES BAD AND HAS NO POWER. IT TAKES A LONG PERIOD TO GET TO EVEN 20 MPH WHICH MEANS GETTING ONTO A HIGHWAY IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I AM TERRIFIED TO HAVE MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE SAME AS THE DEALER AND OPENED A CASE TO QUALIFY FOR REIMBURSEMENT IF THE VEHICLE WERE INCLUDED IN A FUTURE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO RECEIVE FIELD SERVICE ACTION NUMBER: 19N08 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING MAJOR JERKING AND STUTTERING WHEN CAR CHANGE FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. REALLY HAVE TO PRESS ON GAS FOR IT TO ACCELERATE. VERY DANGEROUS FOR WHEN TRYING TO MERGE LANES ON FREEWAY. IT HAS SHUT OFF TWICE ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND WOULD NOT RESTART. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST TURNED ON AT 89,000 MILES. EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH DRIVING IT DUE TO THESE PROBLEMS. THERE WERE OCCASIONS WHERE I COULD NOT ACCELERATE AND CARS WERE CLOSE TO CRASHING INTO ME.
WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT THE "CLUTCH" ON THE FORD FOCUS WAS UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE LIFE TIME OF OUR CAR DUE TO A SHUTTERING SENSATION WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A COMPLETE STOP. WE ARE NOW ON OUR 3RD REPLACEMENT SINCE 2015. THE LATEST REPAIR WAS ON 9-27-19
MY 2014 FOCUS IS PART OF THE GROUP OF CARS THAT HAS A TERRIBLE CLUTCH SLIPPAGE PROBLEM. IT'S SO BAD THAT FORD HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH ON EXTENDED WARRANTY THROUGH A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. ONLY ONE PROBLEM, BECAUSE MY CAR HAS A RESTORED SALVAGE TITLE, THAT PROGRAM DOESN'T INCLUDE ME. FORD HAS REPLACED THIS CLUTCH ONCE A WHILE BACK, THE CAR HAD A RESTORED TITLE THEN AS WELL. SO THIS CLUTCH THAT IS BAD IS THE REPLACED CLUTCH THAT SHOULD HAVE A WARRANTY REGARDLESS OF THE TITLE STATUS OF THE CAR. IF THIS HAD BEEN LISTED AS A RECALL, IT WOULD HAVE COVERED ME, BUT BECAUSE IT'S CALLED A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM" THEY WON'T COVER ME. FORD CLAIMS THEY CAME TO THAT CONSENSUS WITH THE HELP OF THE NHSTA, IF THIS IS SO, PLEASE EXTEND THE CLUTCH COVERAGE TO PEOPLE LIKE ME! WE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM CLUTCH AS CARS WITH A CLEAN TITLE, AND THE CLUTCH DIDN'T GO BACK BECAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT! IT'S A TERRIBLE PRODUCT THAT FORD DISCONTINUED FOR GOOD REASON. PLEASE RECONSIDER AND MAKE THIS A RECALL.......
RADIO HAS INTERIOR SHORT THAT CAUSED LOUD CRACKING NOISE WITH KEY IN OR OUT. RADIO ENDED UP NOT WORKING AT ALL, CRACKING EVEN HAPPENED WITH RADIO NOT WORKING. CALLED CAR AUDIO SHOP, OWNER LAUGHED AND SAID HE FIXES 6 TO 12 OF THESE A YEAR. NOISE COULD CAUSE ACCIDENT BY SURPRISING THE DRIVER.
'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT' CAME UP A FEW WEEKS AGO. I SHUT IT OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT CLEARED. WENT TO START IT UP TODAY AND THE FAULT WAS ON AS I PULLED OUT OF THE GARAGE. STAYED ON STOPPING AND STARTING 5 TIMES. ALSO DROVE IT AND WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THIS WILL BE A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO IS SUPPOSED TO DRIVE THIS CAR.
I WAS SENT PAPER WORK FOR A RECALL FROM FORD MOTORS (19N08 ) REF: MY TRANSMISSION CLUTCH BEING FAULTY CLUTCH SHUDDERING WHICH HAPPEN NUMEROUS TIMES AND CAUSING IT TO FEEL LIKE THE CAR WOULD STOP RIGHT THERE. I CALLED MY ;LOCAL FORD DEALER REF: THIS RECALL AND WAS GIVEN A SCHEDULE TIME FOR REPAIR. THEY CHECKED THE FOCUS AND FOUND ITS TRANSMISSION HAD THE ABOVE PROBLEM AND NEED TO BE FIXED . THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH PARTS. WHEN IT CAME TIME TO PICK UP MY CALL I WAS TOLD I HAD TO PAY THE BILL TO RETRIEVE MY CAR BACK. $1088 THAT FORD WAS NOT GOING TO PAY THE REPAIR COST. I CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD MY CAR HAS BRANDED TITLE SALVAGE.I DIDNT KNOW WHAT THAT MEANT BEFORE THE REPAIR. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE### TOLD ME THEY USE A THIRD PARTY TO SEND NOTICES OF MY VIN. AND THEY DIDNT SEE THE SALVAGE REPAIRED ON MY TITLE, THATS HOW I RECEIVED THE RECALL.
THE CAR STARTED EXCESSIVELY JERKING WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH. THE CAR SELECTED THE WRONG GEAR AND COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THE CAR HAD NEW CLUTCHES THAT ARE 7 MONTHS OLD. THE CAR DROVE HOME BUT WOULD NOT CRANK OR START AT ALL THE NEXT DAY. THERE WAS A RED ENGINE LIGHT ON THE DASH. THE TCM AND THE CLUTCH PACK HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT THE CAR IS NOT FIXED. IT STILL RIVE THE SAME WAY.
FROM A DEAD STOP CAR SHUDDERS, BETWEEN GEARS WILL SLIP THEN PULL. NOT REALLY ACCELERATING. CLUTCH WILL SLIP, THEN JERK WHEN IT CATCHES. THIS IS PREVALENT IN LOWER GEARS.
JUST GOT ANOTHER LETTER FROM FORD EXTENDING WARRANT ON PARTS. AT 80K TRANSMISSION, FROM TAKE OFF STILL PULLS ANS JERKS, HESITATES, AND FINALLY LUNGES, CAN'T EVEN PASS ON FREEWAY. IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD.
The entire car is a a safety issue. From the breaks and door latches, to the fuel system, electrical system, to the transmission. The 2014 Ford Focus SE needs to ne recalled aand taken off the roads.
RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR A CLUTCH REPAIR, BRINGING IN ON FRIDAY. CAR STILL SHUDDERS AT SLOW SPEEDS, AND JERKS INTO GEAR. WHEN BACKING UP ON INCLINE DRIVEWAY, CAR ROLLS BACK.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
VEHICLE SHUDDER WHILE ACCELERATING FROM STOP. 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. PREEXISTING CONDITION FROM MANUFACTURER
CAR STALLS AT WILL, GAS GAUGE & MILES TO EMPTY ALWAYS WRONG, LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT NEVER COMES ON AND HAS HUGE PROBLEM W/ ACCELERATION. IT OFTEN SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN I HIT GAS PEDAL, ALSO TAKES FOREVER TO GET UP TO SPEED. IF IT'S NOT SHAKING VIOLENTLY THEN IT JUST STALLS, LITERALLY DIES, WILL NOT RESTART. FORGET FUEL GAUGE. NOT ONLY IS IT ALWAYS WRONG, IT CHANGES AT WILL. I GO UP OR DOWN A HILL, GAUGE & MILES TO EMPTY CHANGES. LOW FUEL INDICATOR NEVER LIGHTS UP SO WHO KNOWS HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE. LAST TWO TIMES IT STALLED ON HIGHWAY AT 65MPH. ENGINE JUST CUT OUT, DIED & WOULD NOT RESTART. HAS BEEN TO DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES IN 3 WEEKS FOR SAME ISSUES. FIRST INCIDENT, KINDLE FORD IN CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ HAD IT 9 DAYS OVER LABOR DAY HOLIDAY. FINALLY ADVISED REPAIRS ELIGIBLE UNDER RECALL HOWEVER WAITING FOR PARTS, SPECIFICALLY FUEL TANK, WHICH ACCORDING TO FEDEX WAS IN TRANSIT. 'LUCKY FOR ME' HE SAID, FINALLY HAD LOANER AVAILABLE. I'M WALKING TO GET LOANER WHEN SUDDENLY TECH YELLS OVER THAT MY CAR IS DONE! WHAT? HE JUST SAID TANK WAS IN TRANSIT! RELUCTANTLY TOOK MY CAR ONLY TO HAVE IT DIE AGAIN. HAD IT TOWED TO KINDLE AGAIN AND HE SAID CAR STARTED RIGHT UP FOR HIM AFTER HE PUT GAS IN IT. HE IMPLIED I RAN OUT OF GAS BECAUSE GAUGE WAS PINNED ON EMPTY. I HAD PUT GAS IN IT THAT MORNING. GAUGE INDICATES IT WAS LOW BUT IT WAS NOT PINNED ON EMPTY (SEE PHOTO). AND IF THAT WAS THE CASE, WARNING LIGHT NEVER CAME ON (SEE PHOTO). NOW THEY ARE SAYING THEY CAN'T FIX IT UNTIL THEY REPLICATE PROBLEMS FOR THEMSELVES. AS IF I WAS LYING! CAR DOESN'T DO IT WHEN THEY DRIVE IT SO WHAT DO I DO? I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY OWN CAR BUT I HAVE TO GO TO WORK, ETC. I JUST HOPE MY SON & I AREN'T KILLED WHEN CAR UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS AGAIN WHILE WE ARE ON THE HIGHWAY.
I ONLY DRIVE ONCE PER WEEK, STILL SHUDDERING WITH LACK OF POWER. CAR ACTUALLY DECELERATES ON INCLINE, REALLY HAVE TO GET ON GAS.
TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY GET HOME ONCE I GOT PAST TWO RPM'S CAR DRIVES FINE. BEFORE YOU GET TO TWO RPMS, THE CAR WILL STALL, JERK, SHAKE. CAR DIED AT INTERSECTION WHEN I HAD TO MAKE COMPLETE STOP, STARTED SHAKING TERRIBLE BAD WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON BARELY MAKING IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AGAIN ONCE YOU GO PAST TWO RPMS SPEED IS FINE SYMPTOMS DISAPPEAR. GOING THROUGH ANOTHER MAJOR INTERSECTION CAR ALMOST STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION ALMOST CAUSING A T-BONE ACCIDENT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CAR .
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated and shuddered while accelerating and shifting gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the transmission clutch had previously been replaced but had failed again. The transmission clutch was replaced. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a transmission shop where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch and actuators had failed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact learned of a Customer Satisfaction Program, NHTSA ID Number: 10072057 (Power Train). The contact called the dealer and was informed that the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included and that the clutch was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 58,000.
I WAS TOLD UPON PURCHASE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSED TO SHUDDER AND LUNGE, I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE SEVERITY OF THE RECALLS AND THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS IT HAS TROUBLE SWITCHING GEARS, AND I FEAR PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. MY 2014 FORD FOCUS SE HATCHBACK HAS A DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION THAT ADDS FOR A SPORTY FEEL AND BETTER GAS MILEAGE, THE DCT IS DRY CLUTCH AND THE GASKETS ARE TERIBBLE CUASING OIL TO GET INTO PARTS WHERE THEY SHOULDNT IN THE DCT CUASING THE TRANSMISSION TO STUTTER,LAG,AND BE UNDRIVEABLE THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFTEY ISSUES THAT FORD KNEW. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A BACK ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE SHOULDER AND THEN KEPT DRIVING UNTIL THE DESIRED SPEED OF 65 MPH WAS REACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TAKATA RECALL. ON THE DATE OF 9/4/19 WHILE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONTO A MAIN STREET, MY CAR STALLED AS I SHIFTED MY GEAR INTO DRIVE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IMMEDIATELY TURNED ON AFTER. I THEN PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AFTER SHIFTING INTO DRIVE TO MOVE MY CAR FROM IMPEDING TRAFFIC BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I PROCEEDED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND PUSH THE CAR TO A SAFE AREA. AFTER, I TURNED OFF AND ON MY CAR HOPING THIS WOULD JUST BE A MINOR ELECTRICAL MISTAKE BUT WHEN I TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON, THE CAR WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY 15 SECONDS (WHILE PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL) TO JOLT FORWARD AND PROCEED TO DRIVE IN A JITTERY MANNER. WHILE DRIVING TO MY NEAREST MECHANIC, THE CAR CONTINUED TO STUTTER, WHILE THE GAS PEDAL AND ACCELERATION DID NOT CORRESPOND WITH EACH OTHER. UPON ARRIVING TO MY MECHANIC I WAS NOTIFIED THAT I MAY STILL HAVE WARRANTY ON MY FORD VEHICLE. I WAS THEN TOLD BY FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I HAD AROUND 6 OR 7 RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE, ONE BEING TRANSMISSION. I WAS UNAWARE OF THIS NOR DID I RECEIVE ANY NOTIFICATION THAT MOST OF THESE RECALLS WERE CALLED ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER TALKING WITH THE FORD SERVICE ASSISTANT HE STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX MY TRANSMISSION FULLY BUT ONLY REPLACE THE PARTS THAT WAS RECALLED FOR THE VEHICLE (TRANSMISSION MODULE). I WAS AT RISK OF A VERY BACK CAR ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FORDS RECALLS AND THE LACK OF THEIR ABILITY TO MAKE THEIR CUSTOMERS AWARE OF THESE PROBLEMS. I AM VERY UPSET AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY CAR'S TRANSMISSION FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 19N08 IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE CLUTCH. THE LETTER STATES IT IS A ONE TIME REPAIR PROGRAM. HOWEVER, WHEN I REACHED OUT TO FORD THE SYSTEM SAID THERE WAS NO FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE PROGRAM. THE TROUBLE IS MY VEHICLE HAS ALREADY HAD A CLUTCH REPLACEMENT AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. SO IF FORD ALLOWS FOR ONLY A ONE TIME REPAIR THEN THOSE VEHICLES THAT STILL EXPERIENCE DELAYED ACCELERATION, SHUDDER, BUCKING, AND KICKING AFTER A CLUTCH REPLACEMENT WILL NOT BE COVERED. THE IDEA THAT FORD IS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY FOR A ONE TIME REPAIR SHOWS THE COMPANY MAY LEAVE PEOPLE WITH VEHICLES THAT DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. MY VEHICLE IS ONE THAT FALLS INTO THIS CATEGORY.

WHEN ACCELERATING IN A HIGHWAY IS DANGEROUS AS THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND AND MAKING IT A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN SHIFTING LANES, ENTERING ON INTERSECTIONS OR HIGHWAY. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES AFTER TAKING IF TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES.

IT FELT AS IF THE TRANSMISSION HAD JUST SWITCH TO NEUTRAL AND I WAS GIVING GAS BUT GOING NOWHERE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND CARRY ON. A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ALMOST 70 MILES PER HOUR WHEN I SUDDENLY COMPLETELY LOST POWER AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BUT IT WAS FAIRLY TERRIFYING TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND ALL OF A SUDDEN NOT HAVE POWER. IT COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS. I FINALLY GOT THE CAR RESTARTED AND TURNED AROUND AND WENT BACK HOME. DURING THIS TIME I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT A WARRANTY EXTENSION ALL THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY CHANGED THE MODULE. I DROVE IT TO WORK AFTER A FEW DAYS AND HAD THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. I WAS TOLD IT MUST BE A BA D MODULE SO THEY PUT IN A NEW 1. NOW HAVE ISSUES WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON THAT CAN'T BE RESOLVED. THAT IS HOW THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES STARTED ORIGINALLY. I DON'T TRUST TO TAKE THIS CAR ON A TRIP. IT ONLY HAS ABOUT 68000 MILES ON IT BUT I HAVE LOST FAITH IN IT. WHAT IF MY DAUGHTER OR MY WIFE WERE DRIVING IT AND THIS HAPPENED. I CAN'T IMAGINE.
THE VEHICLE WILL SHUDDER WHILE DRIVING (CITY AND HIGHWAY), HESITATE SIGNIFICANTLY WHEN ACCELERATING, HAS DIED IN THE ROADWAY, HAS BEEN IN GEAR BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, AND JUMPS IN AND OUT OF GEAR WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED THAT BOTH CLUTCH ACTUATORS ARE DEFECTIVE. THIS IS NOT IN RELATION TO ANY PRIOR RECALLS. WAS ADVISED THIS IS ALSO A MAJOR ISSUE THAT THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEES. THIS BEGAN HAPPENING SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND THEY WANT AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT TO FIX IT. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO PAY THE HIGH FEE SO THESE CARS ARE STAYING ON THE ROAD.

IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BE PERFORMED ON THE PURGE VALVE. THE RESULT WAS THAT THE PURGE VALVE WAS INTACT SO THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WOULD BE PERFORMED. THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY, IDLE SENSOR, THROTTLE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND PURGE VALVE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED NOR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. GOING TO SHOP TOMORROW. NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO SPENDING $1500 A FOURTH TIME.
