AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN FIRST GEAR BECAUSE IT'S A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND MOVING FORWARD. MY CAR ISNOT LOCKING AND I GO SOMETIMES UPWARDS OF 100 FEET OR MORE BEFORE IT SHOWS THAT THE CAR IS LOCKED. BUT I AM NOT HEARING THE CAR LOCK LIKE IT SHOULD. IT DOES THE SAME THING IN REVERSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE AND SWITCHED FROM GEAR TO GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GALPIN FORD (15505 ROSCOE BLVD, NORTH HILLS, CA 91343, (818) 787-3800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH FAILED. A NEW CLUTCH ALONG WITH A MOTOR MOUNT AND BATTERY WIRES WERE INSTALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING, COMING OFF I-70W RAMP ONTO A MAIN CITY STREET, MY CARS "ENGINE FAULT, SERVICE NOW" INDICATOR CAME ON THE SCREEN. MY CAR WAS STILL ON BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I MANAGED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE RAMP THROUGH THE TRAFFIC. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART MY VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE. AFTER LETTING IT REST FOR A FEW MINUTES I TURNED THE KEY AGAIN WHILE GIVING THE ENGINE GAS. IT SPUTTERED ON AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT ONTO THE STREET. HOWEVER, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT USUAL. REVED AT 400, I WAS STILL ONLY GETTING UP TO 20 MPH AFTER ABOUT 500 FT. IT DIED AGAIN ONCE I GOT UNDER THE UNDERPAID, ATTEMPTING TO MAKE IT THE REMAINING THREE MINUTES TO WORK. AFTER A FEW MORE ATTEMPTS I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN AND CREEPED THE REST OF THE WAY TO WORK WITH MY HAZARDS ON. WHILE WORKING I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP FOR A TOW, SINCE MY HUSBAND CARRIES AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED THEY INFORMED US THAT IT WAS THE WIRING HARNESS AN THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY. THEY ALSO THEN TOLD US THAT THE TOW WOULD NOT BE COVERED EITHER SINCE WE DID NOT USE THE APPROPRIATE COMPANY FOR ROADSIDE. MY HUSBAND PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE SIX WEEKS AGO AND WE ARE NOW FACING A $1400 REPAIR AND A $300 DIAGNOSTIC AND TOW. AFTEVSOME RESEARCH MY HUSBAND FOUND THAT 2014 FORD FOCUS ST HAD A RECALL FOR THE EXACT ISSUE. I FEEL THAT THE FAULT MAY BE FOR MORE THAT JUST THE SPORTS ADDITION.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

HAD THE TRANS CLUTCHES REPAIRED, AND STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES: CAR SHUDDERS AND SHAKES WHILE TAKING OFF FROM A LIGHT AND ACTS LIKE IT IS SLIPPING IN BETWEEN GEARS . MAKES STOPPING AND STARTING OR ENTERING A HIGHWAY VERY DANGEROUS . SEEMS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS AN ON GOING ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR MODEL FORD . THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OR THE TRANS SHOULD HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR FORDS KNOW DAUL CLUTCH PROBLEMS.
CAR STUDDERING HARD TIME GOING FASTER EVEN GETTING ON FREEWAY, CAR STALLED AT LIGHT WITH OTHER CARS BEHIND ALL OF A SUDDEN MULTIPLE TIMES

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. *LN THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE MOLD GROWING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CARPET. THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP WHEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, BUT WOULD NOT MOVE. VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION - THIS SITUATION IS CONSISTENT WITH RECALL NOTICE 18S32 / NHTSA RECALL 18V-735. PRIOR TO INCIDENT HAD VISITIED FORD DEALER TO ADDRESS RECALL NOTICE AND WAS TURNED AWAY AS N/A FOR MY VEHICLE. PLEASE NOTE, RECALL NOTICE INCLUDED MY VIN AND STALLING INCIDENT IS CONSISTENT WITH RECALL NOTICE.

THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL FEBRUARY OF 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY STILL AT THE DEALER UNTIL THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR ARRIVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF, ERRONEOUSLY SHIFTED, AND SURGED BACKWARDS WHILE STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROSSROADS FORD OF WAKE FOREST (10101 CAPITAL BLVD, WAKE FOREST, NC) WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000(FUEL SYSTEM). AFTER THE CONTACT RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON STATING THAT IT IS A O2 SENSOR ISSUE. I'VE REPLACED THE O2 SENSOR SEVERAL TIMES. I'VE HAD MECHANICS AND THE DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT WITH NO ABILITY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS. IT IS BELIEVED TO BE ELECTRICAL, MOST LIKELY THE WIRE HARNESS. MY ALTERNATOR WAS AFFECTED AS WELL BY THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I HAVE HAD TO PUT IN A FEW NEW O2 SENSORS, TWO NEW ALTERNATORS, AND A BATTERY.
THERE CAR HAS A TENDENCY TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR IN FIRST AND SECOND GEARS. WHEN YOU START TO DRIVE, THE CAR ACTS LIKE IT DOES NOT WANT TO MOVE AND THEN WILL SUDDENLY SPRINT FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY. OTHER TIMES, THE CAR WILL START TO MOVE AS EXPECTED BUT IT WILL BE VERY JITTERY AND JERKY BOUNCING YOU AROUND WHILE IT GETS UP TO SPEED LEADING TO UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITIONS. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING AND DAILY PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. FORD HAS SAID THESE ARE "NORMAL" IN CONVERSATIONS WITH MY DEALERS AND HAVE NOT LOOKED AT THE ISSUE IN DETAIL
TRANSMISSION SLIPS IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR, SOMETIMES SO BAD THAT ACCELERATION IS LAGGING. DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC.
THE HORN STOPPED WORKING MOST OF THE TIME. IT VERY RARELY WORKS. OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS ITS OUT OF WARRANTY AND IT WILL BE $224 TO REPLACE IT. GIVEN THE LARGE AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD, I SUSPECT ITS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM.

WHILE STOPPED ON AN INCLINE, THE VEHICLE WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS UPON RELEASE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED AND DOWNSHIFT WHILE ACCELERATING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR, WITHOUT WARNING. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED, THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED FROM THIRD TO FIRST GEAR WHILE GOING DOWNHILL, WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO SCHICKER FORD OF ST. LOUIS (3300 S KINGS HIGHWAY BLVD, ST. LOUIS, MO 63139) AND THE MECHANIC TWICE PERFORMED AN ELECTRONIC UPDATE AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED SOON AFTER THE REPAIR. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CAR DIDN'T MALFUNCTION SHORTLY AFTER BEING REPAIRED. THE REPLACEMENT CLUTCH USUALLY LASTS 6 MONTHS BEFORE THE USUAL SHUDDER, ROLLING AT STOPS, CRUISE CONTROL RPM ISSUES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.*DT*JB
NHTSA CONTACTED FORD BACK IN MAY 2018 ABOUT THE PURGE VALVE THAT SITS ON TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. FORD ISSUED RECALL 18S32 BACK IN DECEMBER 2018. MY CAR WAS SUPPOSED BE FIXED, ACCORDING TO THE LETTER I RECEIVED FROM FORD, IN JANUARY 2019. FORD HAS PROVIDED NO UPDATES FOR THIS FIX. WHEN I CONTACT FORD, I AM TOLD THERE IS NO TIME TABLE FOR A FIX. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I AM TOLD BY FORD TO NOT DRIVE UNDER HALF A TANK OF GAS AND NOT TRUST THE GAS GAUGE. THIS NEEDS TO GET FIXED ASAP.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH, THE DOOR BELL STARTED SOUNDING, THE CHECK BRAKE FLUID READ OUT CAME ON LIKE THE CAR HAD A MAJOR PROBLEM ELECTRICAL. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES THRU THIS PAST WINTER 2018/2019. THE TEMPERATURE ON THE DASH WAS 10 DEGREES OR BELOW EVERY TIME IT HAPPENED. RUDE AWAKENING ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO THE FRONT WHEELS WILL SPIN WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOP SIGN ON OCCASION. LIKE IT CAN'T GET GOING. ONE MORE THING IS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I'VE HAD NO POWER LIKE THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL WHEN I'VE HAD THE CRUISE ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. I DON'T HAVE EXACT DATES ONE DATE WAS 12/26/2018
THE CUSTOMER CAME IN WITH A NO START CONCERN THAT REQUIRED THE VEHICLE BE JUMPED EACH MORNING. WE PERFORMED A WARRANTY BATTERY TEST AND DETERMINED THE BATTERY WAS NOT AT FAULT. AT THAT POINT WE PROCEEDED WITH DIAGNOSIS STARTING WITH TESTING THE DRAW ON THE SYSTEM. AFTER LETTING THE VEHICLE SIT AND DISCONNECTING ANYTHING THAT MAY DRAW ON THE BATTERY WE STILL FOUND A 3 AMP DRAW PULLING FROM THE BATTERY. UPON INSPECTION WE FOUND THE AIR BAG DEACTIVATION LIGHT LIT ON THE DASH WITH THE KEY OFF. CHECKED THE WIRING DIAGRAM FOUND THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS POWERED OUT OF THE BCM. UNPLUGGED CONNECTOR C2280G DRAW GOES AWAY. CHECKED ALL CONNECTORS AT BCM, FOUND C2280D WITH WASHER FLUID IN THE CONNECTOR AND CONNECTOR BURNT FROM HIGH RESISTANCE. CHECKED CONNECTOR C137 AT THE WASHER PUMP FOUND THE WASHER PUMP LEAKING INTO CONNECTOR C137 AND PUMPING ALL THE WAY TO THE BCM ALONG CIRCUITS CRW23 AND CRW24. CONNECTOR C2280D IS NOT SERVICED AS A PIGTAIL, SO A COMPLETE HARNESS WILL BE NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR. A BCM AND WASHER PUMP WILL BE NEEDED TO RESOLVE THIS CONCERN IN ITS ENTIRETY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING, THE TRUNK UNLOCKED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000. *TT*JB
TAKATA RECALL.ENGINE STALLS W/O NOTICE, INSIDE CAB REEKS OF GAS SMELL. FORD REMEDY IS TO KEEP GAS TANK 1/2 FULL. DOESN'T WORK. JUST FILLED UP AND STILL STALLED WHILE ENTERING INTO THE FREEWAY. I DID NOT USE CHEAP FUEL. VERY DANGEROUS AND THE REMEDY DOES NOT WORK. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP TWICE NOW AND THEY CONFIRMED IT'S 1 OF 10 FOCUS ON THE RECALL. IN OTHER WORDS 10% OF THEIR FOCUS HAVE THIS RECALL AND SYMPTOMS. I CALLED FORD CORP AND THEY GAVE ME 2 OPTIONS, 1)DRIVE CAR WITH 1/2 TANK OR MORE 2) DON'T DRIVE IT AT ALL. I NEED IT FOR WORK #2 IS NOT AN OPTION. FORD WILL NOT GIVE A LOANER CAR EVEN I TOLD THEM THEIR REMEDY IS NOT WORKING AND CAN CAUSE BODILY INJURY OR EVEN DEATH.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT A RECALL DEALING WITH THE CLUTCH, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP JUST LIKE THE LETTER STATED!WELL THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THE PART, STATING MY CAR DIDN'T MEET THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE REPLACED! I LEFT WITH THE CAR STILL NOT FIXED! THAT WAS 6 MONTHS AGO, I JUST TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, AND OF COURSE THEY REFUSING TO REPLACE ANYTHING ON IT UNDER THE RECALL! SO, I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, ( IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I FIRST TOOK IT TO THEM) NOW THEY TRYING TO MAKE ME PAY 2300 DOLLARS TO GET IT FIXED! DON'T EVERY BUY A FORD!
I FOUND OUT THAT FORD ADMITTED THEIR 6 SPEED SPORT TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST FORD FOR THIS, BUT WHEN I NOTIFIED FORD OF MY INTENT TO JOIN THE CLASS (WHICH WAS REQUIRED), FORD DID NOT RESPOND. WHEN I CONTACTED THE CLASS LAWYER, THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT INCLUDE ME BECAUSE I HAD ONLY HAD THE TRANSMISSION CALIBRATED TWICE BEFORE THE DEADLINE. (3 TIMES WERE REQUIRED) IT IS STILL RUNNING POORLY. I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM CARMAX IN DEC. 2018, SO IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AT LEAST ONCE BETWEEN (NEW) 2014 AND 2018. I AM WONDERING, "WHY" WHEN MULTIPLE MODELS OVER SEVERAL MANUFACTURING YEARS HAVE THIS SAME TRANSMISSION, HAS THERE NOT BEEN AN OFFICIAL RECALL?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR DID NOT LATCH AT ALL. THIS OCCURED AFTER BEING STATIONARY AFTER PLACING GROCERIES IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS WAS THE FIRST AND ONLY OCCURRENCE SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE. I HAS TO BUNGEE CORD THE DOOR TO THE OTHER DOOR TO BE BE ABLE TO GET HOME SAFELY.
TRANSMISION STARTED SLIPPING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CODE READER GAVE CODE P07A3(ELEMENT "A" STUCK). LOST ALL POWER TO MOVE ON FREEWAY. ALSO WARNING APPEARED ON SCEEN "TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING". CAR UNWILLING TO START IN PARKING GEAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO IMPERIAL FORD (8 UXBRIDGE RD, MENDON, MA 01756, (888) 814-8373) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRE HARNESS WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED THIS WEEK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FMC) ISSUED A RECALL (18S32) IN DECEMBER OF 2018, COPY ATTACHED WITH NOTES OF DATES I FOLLOWED UP WITH THEM. THE ISSUE IS "ON YOUR VEHICLE, THE ENGINE MAY STALL DUE TO A STUCK CANISTER PURGE VALVE (CPV) WITHIN THE FUEL VAPOR SYSTEM." THEIR RECALL LETTER INDICATED THAT "PARTS ARE ANTICIPATED TO BE AVAILABLE BY 1ST QUARTER, 2019." I HAVE FOLLOWED UP WITH FMC THREE TIMES, THE LAST OF WHICH WAS ON 6/24/19 WHEN I "CHATTED" WITH LACY. THAT CHAT WAS TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY. BASICALLY ALL I HEARD WAS THE CANNED RESPONSE AND NO REAL INDICATION THAT FMC HAS PLACED ANY PRIORITY ON FIXING THE UNSAFE CONDITION. MY HOPE IS THAT YOU CAN "ENCOURAGE" FMC TO TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY AND MAKE THE NECESSARY PARTS AVAILABLE ON AN EXPEDITED BASIS. I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY CARS ARE SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL, BUT I KNOW THAT I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING MY CAR ON THE STREET OR HIGHWAY WHERE IT CAN UNEXPECTEDLY STALL AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE HARM TO ME, MY FAMILY, OR SOME OTHER INNOCENT PERSON. I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM FORD (12/2018) ABOUT A RECALL 18V-735. THIS INVOLVES A "STUCK PURGE VALVE"(CPV) WITH IN THE FUEL VAPOR SYSTEM. THE LETTER SAID I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PART WOULD BE READY FOR THE REPAIR. IT SAID THE PARTS WERE TO ANTICIPATED TO BE AVAILABLE BY 1ST QUARTER, 2019. WE ARE NOW INTO THE 3RD QUARTER OF THE YEAR AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE NOTICE OF THE PART BEING READY TO MAKE THE REPAIRS.
TRANSMISSION STUTTERS AND STALLS WHEN I ACCELERATE. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BUT IT CONTINUES TO STUTTER AND STALL. IT HAS BECOME A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND OTHER PASSENGERS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STEVENS FORD (LOCATED AT 717 BRIDGEPORT AVE, MILFORD, CT 06460, (203) 783-5900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE TCM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE 2014 FORD FOCUS SE BEGAN TO SPUTTER. CONTINUES TO DO SO UNTIL I GOT IN THE STREET ON MY HOME AND BEGAN GOING UNDER 10 MPH. ONCE I ENTERED MY HOME TO PUT SOME ITEMS DOWN BEFORE RETURNING BACK OUT, I ATTEMPTED TO START MY CAR. I NOTICED UPON ENTRY OF MY VEHICLE THAT MY RADIO WAS ON WITHOUT MY KEYS BEING IN THE IGNITION, ALSO MY DRIVER DOOR WAS STILL OPEN. I ATTEMPTED TO START MY VEHICLE BUT NOTHING HAPPENED, IT DIDN'T TICK NOR TURN. WHAT DID HAPPEN THOUGH WAS MY ENTIRE COMPUTER SYSTEM BEGAN TO CUT ON AS IF THE VEHICLE HAD STARTED AND TURNED. RADIO ON, DASHBOARD LIGHTS PRESENT AND THEN CUT OFF, ALERT FOR MY LOW TIRE, TRIP TIMER BEGAN RUNNING. THEN AN ERROR CODE REGARDING SOMETHING IN THE LINES OF FUEL. WASN'T QUICK ENOUGH TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE ERROR MESSAGE. WHEN I REMOVED MY KEY AND CALLED MY SISTER TO INFORM HER THAT I MAY NEED A RIDE FOR MYSELF AND MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, THE DASHBOARD NEEDLES JUMPED VIGOROUSLY. WHILE SITTING. IN THE VEHICLE AGAIN, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM OPENED UP AND MY TRIP TIMER BEGAN RUNNING AND THE RADIO. AGAIN WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION, THEY WERE IN MY LAP. THE ENTIRE NIGHT WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY PERIODICALLY MY CAR WOULD CUT IN AND OFF, AND ENGAGE WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION NOR PRESENT NEAR HE CAR. CONSEQUENTLY, THE CONSTANT RUNNING OF THE VEHICLE BY IT SELF RAN THE BATTERY DEAD AS WELL. ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE FORD DEALERSHIP, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND CHECK SERVICE AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY RUDE AND CONTINUOUSLY INTERRUPTED ME. WHEN QUESTIONING REGARDING AND OPEN RECALL, 18S32, AND MENTIONING THAT NOT ONLY DID I CALL THE NTHSA NUMBER BUT I ALSO READ THE RECALL REGARDING MY VEHICLE SERVICEMAN BECAME EVEN MORE RUDE AND EVEN DISCONNECTED THE CALL.
STARTED IN 2015 TRANSMISSION SHUDDERED/VIBRATED/HESITATION ON HIGHWAY, LACK OF POWER, CAR WOULD JERK LIKE I HAD BEEN IT ON HIGHWAY, ONBOARD COMPUTER WAS RE PROGRAMED IN OCTOBER OF 15 AND AGAIN IN JAN OF 17. CAR IS NOT STORING COMPUTER CODES WHEN IT ACTS UP. ON 7/17/18 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON I CALLED DEALER GOT AN APPOINTMENT FOR 7/17/18, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF BEFORE THE DEALER SAW THE CAR, AND THE ON BOARD COMPUTER DID NOT STORE A CODE FOR THEM TO FIGURE IT OUT. WHEN I LEFT THE DEALER I DID NOT GET A BLOCK WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE CAR STARTED JERKING, I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT TO TURN AROUND AND GO BACK TO THE DEALER HOWEVER THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE, I TRIED A HALF DOZEN TIME TO BACK UP INCLUDING TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. THE CAR NEXT TO ME LEFT AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE A U TURN, BY THE TIME I GOT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY WERE CLOSED. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK THE NEXT MORNING THEY WERE ABLE TO RETRIEVE TO CODE AND REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. IN AUGUST OF 18 ONE DAY LEAVING THE GAS STATION WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE ALL IT DID WAS REV THE ENGINE ANOTHER TIME WHEN I BACKED OUT OF MY PARKING PLACE AND TRIED TO DRIVE AWAY IT WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN IN DECEMBER. LATELY I HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE THE ENGINE WILL REV UP WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IT USUALLY IS ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE RPM'S WOULD DOUBLE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. ON 12/7/18 THIS HAPPENED AGAIN, HOWEVER I HAD TO TAKE MY FOOT OF THE ACCELERATOR IN ORDER FOR THE ENGINE TO STOP THE REVVING. THE REVVING OF THE ENGINE IS NOT ON SPECIFIC DATES, HOWEVER HAPPENS ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK USUALLY ON THE HIGHWAY.

I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION FOR AWHILE. I NOTICED IT FIRST WHEN GOING UP STEEPER HILLS IF I HAVE TO COME TO A STOP AND CONTINUE UP THE HILL THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JUMP AS IF IT COULDNT GET INTO GEAR. THEN WHEN TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS WE WERE DRIVING ON CRUSE CONTROL WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE THE RMP'S JUMPED UP TO 5000+ I HAD TO GET THE CAR OFF OF CRUSE CONTROL AND TRY AND HELP IT TO STICK BACK INTO GEAR. I NOW HAVE TAKEN MY CAR INTO THE PENSKE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE SAYING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION, BUT WHEN DOING THE DIAGNOSTIC ON IN THEY FOUND THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODUAL WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRENTY BUT THE CLUTCH ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT THAT WASNT UNDER THE WARRENTY. BUT THERE IS A RECALL ON MY TRANSMISSION! AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY 2K+ TO GET MY CLUTCH FIXED, WHEN MY CLUTCH IS A PART OF MY TRANSMISSION. I HAVE SEEN THAT THERE IS MANY LAWSUITS ABOUT THIS, AND I HOPE I DONT HAVE TO DO THAT.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW IN DECEMBER 2014. SINCE I HAD NO EXPERIENCE WITH THIS DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION, I DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE CLUTCH WAS BAD ON TEST DRIVE. IT SHUTTERED IN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR AND SHIFTED OUT OF FIRST GEAR IN AN UNUSUAL WAY. AFTER ABOUT A YEAR, I ASKED THE DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. THE CLUTCH WAS BAD AND REPLACED. IT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY. A YEAR LATER, I WAS BACK FOR A SECOND NEW CLUTCH. NOW ABOUT A YEAR LATER, I AM BACK FOR A THIRD CLUTCH. THE CAR ONLY HAS 25,900 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER HAS BEEN GREAT BUT I WON'T BE ABLE TO KEEP THIS UP AFTER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRES. THE CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN UNPREDICTABLE WITH ACCELERATION. NOTE TO EVERYONE, DON'T PULL OUT IN FRONT OF SOMEONE WITH ONE OF THESE CARS. YOU MAY OR MAY NOT GET A PROPER RESPONSE FROM THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER I HAD THE CAR A YEAR, MY WIFE WENT TO TEST DRIVE A NEW MAZDA FOR HERSELF. WE WERE IN MY FOCUS. THE MAZDA DEALER TOLD ME UP FRONT THEY WOULD NOT TAKE A FOCUS ON A TRADE-IN BECAUSE THEY'VE HAD TOO MANY THAT HAD TO BE TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR AFTER THEY TRADED FOR THEM. SO, THEY MADE A DECISION NOT TO TAKE ANY MORE ON TRADE. THIS IS VERY TELLING. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD FORCE FORD TO RECALL THIS TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE THEM WITH BETTER ONES. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE CONSUMER THAT THEY'VE BEEN STUCK WITH DANGEROUS JUNK. I'M A FORD GUY ALL THE WAY, BUT HIS TRANSMISSION IS THE WORST.
THIS IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AS I'VE BEEN TOLD BY FORDS MECHANICS. WHEN YOU PUSH THE ACCELERATOR THEIR IS VIBRATION AND HESITATION WHEN SPEEDING UP. I PURCHASED MY FORD FOCUS 2014 WITH 40,000 MILES FOR $17,000, MID YEAR OF 2017. THE CAR DROVE PERFECTLY BEFORE ITS FIRST RECALL IN DECEMBER OF 2018. EVER SINCE THEN THE CAR HAS BROKEN DOWN AT LEAST EVERY 3 MONTHS. I HAVE HAD FOUR RECALL REPAIRS SINCE THE PURCHASE, I BELIEVE THE RECALLS ARE THE REASON IT NEEDS SO MANY ADDITIONAL OTHER REPAIRS. BESIDES THE CAR ITSELF I HAVE SPENT OVER $35,000 ON ADDITIONAL REPAIRS. I HAVE PAID FORD, MURRAY'S AUTO / ACIMA, ALL 4 U AUTO, FIRESTONE AND BEST TIRES FOR REPAIRS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE RECALLS AND OTHER PEOPLE'S EXPERIENCES WITH THE CAR, MANY OF THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCING WAY MORE TROUBLESOME ACTIVITY WITH THE CARS WITH THE RECALL THAN WHAT IS STATED IN THE MAIL LETTER. I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST A SETTLEMENT REIMBURSEMENT OF A NEW CAR DUE MY UNSATISFIED EXPERIENCE WITH MY CAR. I WILL ATTACH ALL MY PAID AND ONGOING DEBT RECEIPTS FOR MY CAR'S MAINTENANCE. AFTER ONE OF MY RECALLS IN 2018 THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME IN EVEN WORST CONDITION, WITH ENGINE FAILURE AT THE WAKE FOREST NC LOCATION. I RECEIVED A DIAGNOSIS AT THE CARY CROSSROADS, NC LOCATION THAT SAID THE CAR WOULD NEED A $10,000 NEW ENGINE. I THOUGHT THIS WAS UNFAIR BECAUSE I HAD NOT HAD ENGINE PROBLEMS BEFORE THE RECALL, AND RESEARCHING ONLINE MANY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER AGREED THAT THE SPECIFIC RECALL WAS CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE, AND MY ADVISOR AGREED THAT THE RECALL FAULT PART AND ENGINE COULD HAVE NEGATIVELY AFFECTED ONE ANOTHER ALTHOUGH REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I CALLED FORD CORPORATE AND EXPLAIN TO THEM WHAT HAPPENED THEY DEDUCTED OVER $6,000.00 FROM THE ENTIRE ENGINE PRICE. I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE COST I HAD TO PAY BUT PAID THE COST BECAUSE I STILL HAD CLOSE TO 10,000.00 TO PAY MY BANK SECU FROM THE LEASE CAR LOAN. THE ALIGNMENT, RODS, AND BRAKES WERE ALSO A MAJOR EXPENSE I HAD TO PAY.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would stall. She also mentioned that the vehicle would fail to immediately start up after refueling. Additionally, the vehicle would hesitate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal while at a complete stop. The contact stated that the check engine warning light would intermittently flash on the instrument panel after each failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where she informed them of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V515000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) which she linked to her failure. The dealer informed her that the recall had been serviced prior by another dealer. The first dealer determined back then that the purge valve did not need to be replaced. The contact was then informed that the purge valve was now defective and was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD DOOR ISSUES WHERE THE DOOR WOULD OPEN UNEXPECTANTLY, THE TRANSMISSION HAS CAUSED HYDROPLAINING AND HAS ALSO CAUSED THE CAR TO STALL ON THE FREEWAY. EVEN THOUGH THEY FIXED THE TRANSMISSION THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED AND INSIST ON BEING A CONTINUAL ISSUE. NOW THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL RECALL FOR DECEMBER AND THAT IS CPV. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD IN ORDER TO HAVE A REFUND OR BE ABLE TO RETURN THE CAR AND SWITCH IT OUT FOR SOMETHING ELSE... I WAS TOLD NO THERE WASN'T AN OPTION TO DO SO.
