TRANSMISSION CHATTERS AND SHUDDERS, AND DOES NOT SHIFT IN CORRECT RPM RANGE (ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP TEST). PS6 CLUTCH REPLACEMENT NECESSARY FOR SECOND TIME ON 2014 FORD FOCUS. FIRST REPLACEMENT AFTER 55K MILES. SECOND REPLACEMENT AFTER ANOTHER 35K MILES (TOTAL MILEAGE ON CAR 90K). SINCE CLUTCH FAILURE IS COMMON ON 2014 FORD FOCUS, NEED FORD WARRANTY EXTENDED TO COVER THIS EXPENSE. (FORD DEALERSHIP PRICE TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH IS $1341 FOR 9 HOURS OF LABOR PLUS $463 FOR CLUTCH AND $71 FOR THE SEAL ASSEMBLY OIL.) CLUTCH REPLACEMENT IS DUE TO MECHANICAL DESIGN; NOT DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, NOT DUE TO OPERATOR.
THE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT ST-UDDERS BADLY AS YOU ACCELERATE. HOWEVER, UPON BRINGING THIS INTO THE FORD STORE IN PUEBLO THEY ARE USING SOME BULLSHIT EXCUSE SAYING THAT THIS IS A 14M01 AND THEREFORE NOT COVERED AS THE 14M02 IS. THEY ARE SHYSTERS AND THEY DON'T WANT TO COVER THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RESOLVED. THE POOR LADY THAT BOUGHT THIS CARE FROM US CARPROS IN PUEBLO COLORADO IS THE VICTIM HERE. WHO CAN WE CONTACT TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. FORD CONVENIENTLY DOESN'T GIVE YOU A NUMBER TO HQ. WE DON'T REALLY KNOW WHERE TO GO WITH THIS ISSUE OTHER THAN TO YOU GUYS. FORD NEEDS TO HANDLE THIS! THIS CAR REACTS THIS WAY AS SOON AS YOU HIT THE GAS. IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR OF FORD FOCUS AND FORD IN PUEBLO, CO AT LEAST IS TRYING TO DUCK IT.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated while the vehicle was stationary at a traffic light and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle started jerking and shuddering. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact continued to experience the failure while driving to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the manual clutch and transmission pressure plate to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle a second time to the local dealer in August of 2018, where it was diagnosed with needing the manual clutch and transmission pressure plate to be replaced for the second time. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle for the third time to the local dealer on November 15, 2019, where it was diagnosed with needing the clutch assembly to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that the clutch assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer on January 26, 2023 and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 46,718.
MY CAR HAS HAD MULITPLE ISSUES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS WITH OVER 7 VISITS PERTAINING TO THE TRANSMISSION . FROM THE BEGINNING ITS HAD PROBLEMS WITH STUTTERING AND HESITATING ON ACCELERATION.I'M CURRENTLY WITHOUT MY CAR FOR THE 5TH TIME THIA YEAR DUE TO PROBLEMS WHICH HAVE BEEN TAKEN CAR OF BY WARRANTY BUT IS STILL COATING ME MONEY DUE TO RENTALS .
VEHICLE'S WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON SPONTANEOUSLY WITHOUT TURNING THEM ON AT THE SWITCH. WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENS. WIPERS CONTINUE TO STAY ON EVEN WHEN VEHICLE ENGINE IS POWERED OFF. THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING IS TO REMOVE THE WIPER FUSE, WHICH IS NOT SAFE IN CASE WIPERS ARE NEEDED. VEHICLE IS AT DEALERSHIP NOW. DIAGNOSES: NEGATIVE MONITORING SENSOR NEEDS REPLACED. AGAIN, THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT COVERING THIS UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, SO COSTS FOR REPAIR WILL COME OUT OF POCKET. REGARDLESS OF COST THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE WIPERS RUNNING WHEN NOT NEEDED CAN CAUSE DISTRACTIONS AND DAMAGE TO THE WIPER BLADES WHEN THEY ARE RUNNING ON A NON-WET SURFACE.

SHUDDERING SO BAD THAT CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. 60 TO NOTHING. NEARLY HIT. SHUDDERED LEAVING STOP SIGNS AND INTERSECTIONS- NEARLY HIT. FUEL SYSTEM ISSUES- BOWED GAS TANK IN THE HEAT. COULD HAVE EXPLODED. IN SHOP 8+ TIMES SINCE NEW. FORD CUSTOMER CARE NOR FORD DEALERSHIP WILL RESOLVE.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was displaying an incorrect reading on the instrument panel, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic test was performed, and the purge valve was replaced. Despite the repair, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed the vehicle with a defective purge valve and a defective fuel tank. The mechanic then informed the contact of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V515000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
I ONLY BOUGHT THE CAR LAST YEAR. NOW, I CANNOT HARDLY STEER IT. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP. I HAVE TO FIGHT TO TURN IT. A FEW MECHANICS TOOK A LOOK AT IT, AT A SHOP, AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE STEERING COLUMN, THAT IT IS DEFECTIVE. THERE ARE OTHER REPORTS ABOUT FORD KNOWING THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING. I WANT A CAR THAT IS SAFE. THIS CAR HAS HAD ISSUES, CONTINUOUSLY, SINCE I BOUGHT IT. NOW, I AM STUCK WITH PAYING ALMOST $400/MONTH ON A CAR THAT I CANNOT DRIVE. THIS IS NOT FAIR. BESIDES NOT FAIR, I DO NOT WANT TO END UP DEAD, OR ANY OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS DEAD, BECAUSE OF A DEFECT IN THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.
THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND THE PROBLEM WITH THE CLUTCH (WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE) BEGIN TO OCCUR SHORTLY AFTER THE PURCHASE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR ON MAIN ROADS WITH A STOP LIGHT THE CAR WOULD JERK WHEN I WOULD BEGIN TO EXCEL. THIS PROBLEM WAS NOTED EVERY TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I WAS THEN NOTIFIED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE PART. THE PART WAS THEN REPLACED ONCE THE BACK ORDER SHIPMENT CAME IN. THE MODULE WAS EVENTUALLY UPDATED BECAUSE MY CONCERN WITH THE JERKING CONTINUED. IN JULY, MY CAR BEGAN TO HESITATE WHILE DRIVING AND THEN COMPLETELY CUT OFF WHILE IN REVERSE. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MODULE WAS REPLACED. TODAY AS I WRITE THIS NOTIFICATION THE PROBLEM WITH THE HESITATION WHILE THE CAR IS PLACED IN REVERSE HAS BEGUN AGAIN. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE CAR AND WAS TOLD THAT I WAS $10,000 UPSIDE DOWN ON THE CAR IF I TRADED IT IN. I DO NOT TRUST DRIVING THE CAR AND DAILY MY COMMUTE TO WORK IS OVER 65 MILES ON THE HIGHWAY.
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TRAVELING 30 MPH, SAME FUEL SYSTEM THAT IS UNDER RECALL ON FORD VEHICLES MANUFACTURED THROUGH 2013-2015. IT IS OBVIOUSLY THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. I NEARLY LOST MY LIFE DRIVING A 3 YEAR OLD CAR THAT I'M STILL PAYING ON. THE FUEL SYSTEM COMPLETELY FAILED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I HAD JUST SCHEDULED SERVICE ON THE VEHICLE EARLIER THAT MORNING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT READING THE FUEL LEVEL CORRECTLY AND STALLING WHEN I FILLED THE TANK UP. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME 2,500.00 TO HAVE IT REPLACED WHEN THEY KNOW THAT THE SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE OF THE MANUFACTURER PART.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (LONGMONG FORD IN LONGMONT, CO) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PURGE VALVE AND CANNISTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 30 MPH MY VEHICLE STALLED AND LOST COMPLETE POWER. I WAS NEARLY INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, BUT FORTUNATELY THE ALERT DRIVERS AROUND ME WERE ABLE TO BRAKE IN TIME. A FRIENDLY SAMARITAN HELPED TO PUSH MY VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THANKFULLY I WAS PHYSICALLY OKAY, BUT EMOTIONALLY NOT SO MUCH. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2014 FORD FOCUS OFF OF THE LOT AND HAVE SINCE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES. I'M STILL PAYING ON THE VEHICLE TODAY AND NOW IT IS NOT IN USE UNLESS I CAN COME UP WITH 2,500.00 TO REPAIR THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED AT ONLY 67,000 MILES. THERE IS AN ISSUED RECALL ON SIMILAR FORD VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM 2013-2015 WHICH IS THE SAME TIME FRAME IN WHICH MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO COME TO A RESOLUTION THROUGH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY WON'T EVEN OFFER INFORMATION ON THE TYPE OF FUEL SYSTEM USED ON THE VEHICLES WITH THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO BE LIABLE FOR THIS DEFECT. I'M OUT OF A VEHICLE AT 67,000 MILES AND HAVE NO CONSUMER PROTECTION. IT'S SCARY TO READ ABOUT THE 100'S OF PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME FUEL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION AT SIMILAR MILEAGE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS IMMEDIATELY. IN ADDITION, SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN JERKY AND I CAN'T EVEN ACCELERATE ONTO A HIGHWAY. FORD HAD VEHEMENTLY DENIED THAT IT WAS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE MANUFACTURER TRANSMISSION AND YET SINCE THEY HAVE ISSUED A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION, BUT NOW TELL ME I'M TOO FAR PAST MY WARRANTY(WHICH WAS ONLY 7,000 MILES AGO) I'M HEARTBROKEN BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO REPAIR THIS SORT OF SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY KNOWING IT IS A DEFECT ON THEIR PART.
FOR THE PAST YEAR, MY FOCUS HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CLUTCH, AND IN THE PAST IT HAS HAD A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I NEVER GOT A LETTER OR CALL FOR THIS RECALL. RECENTLY ON FEB. 19TH I WENT TO FUTURE FORD IN AUBURN, CA TO GET THIS CHECKED OUT AND THEY SAID FORD WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD THEY SAID THEY CAN'T HELP FINANCIALLY AND THEREFORE I HAVE TO PAY THE $3000 TO FIX SOMETHING THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN UNDER MY ADMINISTRATION. I HAVE THE EMAIL THEY SENT ME SAYING THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO HELP OUT. AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I'M NOT SURE WHY THEY WON'T HELP OUT AS IT CAUSES MY CAR TO STALL AND HESITATE WHEN EVER I NEED TO ACCELERATE AFTER I STOP. NOT ONLY THAT, I WENT IN A FEW YEARS AGO HAVING TO FIX ANOTHER PART OF THE CAR, AND IF FORD KNEW THAT THEY HAD A RECALL FOR THIS, WHY DIDN'T THE FIX IT AT THE TIME.
VEHICLE FUEL SYSTEM LEAKING, GAS TANK DISFORMED. DANGER TO MY SELF AND EVERYONE AROUND MY VEHICLE. THE DEALER IN NAPA DOESN'T KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED. BUT THEY REPLACED THE PARTS. THIS CAR IS DANGER TO EVERYONE AND PUBLIC. PLEASE MAKE THEM REPLACE THIS CAR BEFORE SOMEONE DEATH. IT CAN EXPLODE DISFORMED GAS TANK AND FUMES MAKES THIS CAR A BOMB. RECEIVED A WARNING ON THE FREEWAY TO PULL OVER WHEN SAFE. WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND HAD TO BE PUSHED OFF OF THE FREEWAY. A POWER CYCLE OF THE CAR RESTORED POWER.
DOOR LATCH RECALL. BEEN TO THE JOHNSON FORD DEALERSHIP IN PITTSFIELD MASS A COUPLE OF TIMES NOW TO GET THE DOOR LATCHES FIX ON MY 2014 FORD FOCUS SE. THE DEALERSHIP ALWAYS SAIDS THE PARTS ARE BEING ORDERED AND WILL BE DELIVERED IN TWO WEEKS. TWO TIMES I'VE BEEN TOLD THIS AND THE PARTS NEVER COME IN. ONE TIME THEY TOLD ME THE LATCHES WOULD BE FIX THAT DAY AND HAD MY CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER EIGHT HOURS. WHEN I CALLED TO SEE WHAT WAS TAKING SO LONG THAT'S WHEN THEY TOLD THE LATCHES HAD TO BE ORDERED. THEN WHY TAKE AND KEEP MY CAR FOR EIGHT HOURS THEN. THEY ARE OBLIVIOUSLY JUST GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND AND I'M NOT SURE WHERE TO TURN OR WHAT TO DO.
THIS VEHICLE SHUTTERS ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP SO BAD YOU HAVE TO HOLD ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL TIGHTLY. HAS ALREADY HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS AT A STOP. I MARKED THE DATE AS AUGUST 18TH,BUT IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY.
WHILE DRIVING HOME THROUGH THE VILLAGE AT UNDER 30MPH, SLOWING DOWN FROM 30MPH BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC STOP AHEAD, THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE OF VEHICLE CRASHED DOWN AND CONTROL WAS LOST CAUSING ME TO SIDESWIPE PARKED VEHICLE. THE PIECES OF THE FRONT END APPEAR TO HAVE FAILED AND WERE FALLING ALL OVER THE ROAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC IN FOUR OAKS, NORTH CAROLINA, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
THERE IS A CLUTCH MALFUNCTION ON THE CAR. CAUSING THE CAR TO HESITATE,SHUDDER, OR RATTLE UPON ACCELERATION.
THE CLUTCHES IN THE FORD AUTOMATIC 6-SPEED POWER SHIFT TRANSMISSION FAIL WITHIN A YEAR TIMEFRAME. CURRENTLY ON MY THIRD SET OF CLUTCHES. A RECALL EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON THESE CLUTCHES WAS ISSUED FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION USED BETWEEN 8-1-10 AND 6-5-13. MY CAR WAS BUILD ON 12-8-13 AND DOES NOT HAVE THE EXTENDED COVERAGE BUT CERTAINLY HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. CLUTCHES FAIL WITHIN A YEAR AND EXHIBIT A CHATTERING JERKING CONDITION. FORD WILL NOT EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE. I FILED A COMPLAINT #CAS-12870770-Q5T9F0 WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAPITAL FORD SERVICES DEALER (2805 E MILLBROOK RD, RALEIGH, NC 27604, (877) 660-1721), WHERE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS THE CLUTCH SEAL WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO PROVIDE THE ACCURATE READING CAUSING THE CONTACT TO RUN OUT OF FUEL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING IT WOULD STALL. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE AND DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO R D SAWYER MOTOR CO DEALER (404 IS-64, MANTEO, NC 27954, (252) 473-2141) WHERE IT WAS ADVISED TO KEEP THE TANK HALF FULL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER: 17794117. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered and jerked while accelerating. The check engine warning light illuminated with the message “Transmission Failure" displayed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer three times and it was diagnosed and determined that the clutch, TCM, and the clutch actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,000.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 FORD FOCUS CAME TO A LIGHT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, CAME TO A STOP, THEN PROCEEDED TO TURN WHEN CAR HESITATE TO DRIVE WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS, IT WAS LIKE THE CAR HAD SHUT DOWN, ENGINE LIKE WAS FLASHING, BUT WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A AREA WHERE I WAS SAFE . TURNED IGNITION OFF THEN TRIED TO RESTART, CAR WOULD NOT START .
FOR THE SECOND TIME NOW, MY TRANSMISSION IS JERKING, STUTTERING, AND HESITATING, WITH THE ADDITION OF IT COMPLETELY NOT GOING INTO DRIVE AT ALL THIS TIME, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN KNOWN BY FORD FOR A VERY LONG TIME, AND YOU AT THE NHTSA HAVE BEEN INFORMED AS WELL. THE DEALERSHIP SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THIS ONCE, AND I HAVE THAT PAPERWORK, BUT LIKE THOUSANDS OF OTHER CONSUMERS WHO ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AND HAD IT SUPPOSEDLY FIXED, IT HAS RETURNED! WHY ARE YOU WAITING UNTIL THIS ACTUALLY KILLS SOMEONE, BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING? MY FIANCE WAS AT AN ONRAMP ENTRANCE THAT WAS RIGHT AT THE GAS STATION WHEN THIS HAPPENED THIS TIME AND BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T EVEN SWITCH TO DRIVE, HE WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. IT EFFECTS PEOPLE IN VARIOUS WAYS, AT VARIOUS TIMES, HAS CAUSED SOME PEOPLE TO RECEIVE TICKETS BECAUSE IT REFUSED TO DECELERATE IN SCHOOL ZONES, WHICH COULD HAVE KILLED CHILDREN, IT STUTTERS UPON ACCELERATION AND THEN JERKS INTO SPEED, IT DOESN'T GO INTO GEAR AT TIMES, IT ISN'T SHIFTING PROPERLY, AND ALL KINDS OF STUFF. AND EVEN WHEN THE DEALERSHIP "FIXES" IT, IT IS A TEMPORARY FIX AND IT GOES BACK INTO THE SAME ISSUE WITHIN 40,000 MILES. WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS TRANSMISSION SHIMMERS AND THERE IS HESITAION. ALSO WHEN STARING OFF FROM A STOP THE CAR IS SLOW AT ACCELERATING. WINDSHIELD WIPERS WHEN SET TO LOW OR HIGH ONLY RUN FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN SWITCH TO INTERMITTENT. I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT TODAY TELRAVELING AT 50 MPH BECAUSE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER ISSUE IN A BAD STORM WIPERS STOPPED AND WENT TO INTERMITTENT. THE POWER TRAIN ISSUE STARTED IN 2015.
2014 FORD FOCUS POWER STEERING ISSUE WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE THE POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN ON A BUSY ROADWAY IN A URBAN AREA. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED IN THE TURNING POSITION AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURN THE IGNITION OFF. I TURNED THE IGNITION BACK ON AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE'S POWER STEERING FAILED ONCE MORE AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED A SECOND TIME. I ONCE AGAIN PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND REMOVED THE KEY. I WAITED SEVERAL SECONDS AND STARTED THE IGNITION, PLACED THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN FAILED. I HAD THE CAR TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICING AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THIS VEHICLE HAS AND IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS TO REPAIR DUE TO THE VOLUME OF REPAIRS THIS DEALERSHIP HAS AT THE MOMENT. I HAD THIS SAME VEHICLE REPAIRED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO FOR THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT IS CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL. THE CAR PERFORMED FAIRLY WELL AFTER THE REPAIR. THE SAME HESITATION ISSUE BEGAN AGAIN A FEW WEEKS AGO AND NOW THIS ISSUE AROSE AS WELL. I ASKED THE DEALER IF THIS TOO WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL / WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION WAS BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW IF THE POWER STEERING ISSUE WAS BUT WOULD GET ME AN ANSWER FROM FORD. I'VE READ ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS VEHICLES ISSUES AND MY EXPERIENCE IS THE EXACT SAME. THERE'S NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT FORD IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE JUDGING ON HOW MANY FORMAL COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN ISSUED. I WILL BE LETTING GO OF THIS VEHICLE WHEN IT IS REPAIRED. I WILL NOT OPERATE THIS 2014 FORD FOCUS IN GOOD CONSCIENCE KNOWING FULL WELL THAT IT PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT LIABILITY TO MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS.
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HER NEW/USED FORD FOCUS INTO TOWN AND THE EPAS--POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT CODED AND SHE HAD NO POWER STEERING. SHE WAS GOING ROUGHLY 55 AND SHE COULD NOTICE IT BECOMING HARDER TO STEER. BY THE TIME SHE MADE IT SO A PARKING LOT FOR SAFETY IT WAS CLOSE TO NON-STEERABLE. IT BECAME HARD FOR HER TO STEER AND LUCKILY SHE DID NOT HAVE OR CAUSE AND ACCIDENT WITH THE SUDDEN CHANGE. SHE TRIED TO ASSESS WHAT WAS WRONG WHICH IS WHEN WE LEARNED THERE IS NO POWERSTEERING FLUID AS IT HAS AND ELETRIC STEERING ASSIST INSTEAD. IT DOESN'T WORK NOW AND SHORTLY AFTER THIS CODE FAULTED THE ENTIRE CAR SHUT DOWN. IT WON'T START AND IS USELESS--FORD REPLACED A PERFECTLY GOOD STEERING SYSTEM WITH CRAP. I HOPE NOBODY GETS HURT BE THIS DEFECTIVE SYSTEM.

THIS ISSUE ACCORDING TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT RODMAN FORD IS THE DOOR LATCH MAY NOT SECURE AND THE DOOR COULD OPEN DURING VEHICLE OPERATION. IF THE STATE OF MASS CAN GIVE A REJECTION STICKER TAKING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD WHAT IS MY OPTION IF THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REPAIR THE RECALL AND SHOULD THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN OFF THE ROAD.

NUMEROUS TRIPS AFTERWARDS TO THE DEALERSHIP RESULTED IN THEM SIMPLY 'RESETTING IT TO FORD SPECIFICATIONS'. THE DEALER NEVER MADE ANY MORE ATTEMPTS TO REPLACE OR FIX WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. AS THE LATEST REPORT STATES THE DEALERSHIPS WERE HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING PAID BY FORD MOTOR CO. WHICH EXPLAINS A LOT. ONCE OUT OF WARRANTY THEY INSTANTLY SAID THE CLUTCH NEEDS REPLACED. THE DEALER COULD NOT STATE THOUGH THAT IT WOULD FULLY FIX THE ISSUE KNOWING IT WOULD MOST LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN. RECALIBRATING THE DIAGNOSTICS NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM OF THE CAR CONSTANTLY SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL FROM FIRST. MOST DANGEROUS WOULD BE WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT FACING UP HILL AS IT WOULD SIT THERE SEARCHING FOR 1ST GEAR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. AT LOW SPEEDS THE CAR ALWAYS LURCHED AND HESITATED AS IT COULDN'T FIND WHAT GEAR TO BE IN. THIS HAS BEEN THE DOWNFALL OF A RATHER GREAT CAR AND AN EMBARRASSMENT WHENEVER GIVING SOMEONE ELSE A RIDE.

GOT A FLAT TIRE. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND HIS TOOLS WERE NOT ABLE TO REMOVE THE BOLTS NOR WAS MY CROWBAR FROM FORD. STRIPPED BOLTS AND SWELLING. TOOK CAR TO DISCOUNT TIRE THEY SAID THIS IS COMMON WITH FORD CARS AND THAT THE MATERIALS USED ON THE BOLTS WERE NOT OF GOOD QUALITY. RECALL SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. I HAD THE FLAT WHILE I WAS AT HOME. BUT IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY I WOULD HAVE HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. WHICH IS NOT SAFE. ADVISED TO GET ALL OF THE BOLTS REPLACED.
CAR TRANSMISSION JERKS, SPUTTERS, ACCELERATES AND STALLS. IN ADDITION NOW HAVING ISSUES WITH FUEL TANK NOT GUAGING AND NOW IT HESITATES, STALLS OUT AND IS NOT SAFE. CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE SHOP AND SHOP ADVISED THE FUEL TANK GUAGE WAS NOT OPERATING AND REGISTERING GAS. NOW I AM GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE SHOP AS IT APPEARS IT MAY INVOLVE FUEL TANK, FUEL PUMP AND VAPOR MANAGEMENT. I ONLY KNOW THIS IS BECAUSE SEARCHING ON LINE I SEE MANY SIMIILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE JERKING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, AND PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE STALLING OUT. IT SAYS FORD IS NOT ACKNOWLEDING THIS AS A PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THEY NEED TO RECALL THIS AND FIX THIS ALTHOUGH IT APPEARS BASED ON REVIEWS EVEN AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO FIX IT IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND IS IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE ON A ROAD TRIP. WENT TO START THE CAR AND TRANSMISSION ISSUE ALERT CAME ON THE DASH. I DROVE ABOUT A MILE THEN COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE AND HAD TO PULL OVER. I COULD REVERSE BUT NO ACCELERATION IN DRIVE. GOT IT TOWED AND THE MECHANIC AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER. IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY BUT I'M STILL HAVING ISSUE WITH CLUTCH SLIPPING WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. CAUSES JERKING OF THE CAR SOMETIMES AND LOUD GRINDING NOISES.
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY TMC WHICH CONTROLS MY CLUTCH. THE TMC HAD TO BE RECALIBRATE A YEAR AND A HALF AGO AND A NEW CLUTCH NEED TO TO BE INSTALLED. WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE THE CAR "SHUDDERS", LOSES SPEED, HAS TROUBLE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC OR TAKING TURNS. AGAIN MY CAR FELT THE SAME WAY. APPARENTLY THIS TIME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TMC, BUT THE CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN, JUST ABOUT 18 MONTHS LATER. TO HAVE MY CLUTCH REPLACED TWICE WITHIN THREE YEARS SEEMS ABSURD. EVEN THE DEALERSHIP NOTES THAT THE CLUTCH PACKAGE PUT IN MY CAR THE FIRST TIME HAD KNOWN ISSUES AND WEREN'T THAT GREAT. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. I'D HOPE FORD OR SOMEONE LOOKS FURTHER INTO THIS. THERE SEEMS TO BE A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT IN THE WORKS, BUT I AT LEAST WANTED TO VOICE MY SAFETY CONCERNS. KINDEST REGARDS

LUG NUTS ARE UNABLE TO BE REMOVED WITH LUG NUT WRENCH. FORD DEALER SAYS THE LUG NUTS ARE DEFECTIVE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO 'SWELLING'. FORD CORPORATE SAYS THESE ARE WEAR AND TEAR ITEM AND WILL NOT REPLACE. THIS IS A CRITICAL SAFETY ITEM AS THE TIRES ARE UNABLE TO BE REMOVED OR CHANGED TO A SPARE TIRE AFTER A FLAT TIRE OCCURS.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 50 MPH THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN AND REACHED ABOUT 80 MPH IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. THE TACHOMETER REACHED 8K RPM. THE RPS REMAINED THE SAME EVEN WITH THE FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND WITH THE BRAKES FULLY DEPRESSED. WE DROVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH THE BRAKES FULLY DEPRESSED AND IT SLOWED TO ABOUT 55 ON THE OFF RAMP THEN ACCELERATED BACK TO 65 MPH. THE HAND BRAKED HAD TO BE USED AND THE FOOTBRAKE WAS DEPRESSED TO STOP AT THE RED LIGHT. THE ENGINE CONTINUED RUNNING AT MAX RPM SO WE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS TURNED BACK ON THEN THE CAR WOULD NOT IDLE IT WOULD STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND IT DID THAT SEVERAL TIMES TO THEN ACCELERATE AGAIN TO FULL RPM. WE WERE A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP SO WE TOOK IT IN AND THE SERVICE PERSONNEL SAW HOW IT WAS ACCELERATING AND EVEN TOLD US TO TURN IT OFF IMMEDIATELY FOR SAFETY REASONS.
