VEHICLE HAS EXTREME SHUTTER/LURCHING FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. THE FOCUS HAS BEEN TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE ON FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND COMPUTER UPDATES HAVE BEEN MADE. WE CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME JERKING DURING ACCELERATION BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER AND ALSO THE OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS IS "NORMAL" FOR THE FORD FOCUS. WE FEEL THAT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN IT LURCHES FORWARD ESPECIALLY IN HEAVY (BUMPER TO BUMPER) TRAFFIC. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE IS VERY POOR. IT LAGS, SHUDDERS VIOLENTLY, KNOCKS, ETC. IT EVEN SOMETIMES JOLTS FORWARD OR HESITATES. THESE ISSUES OCCUR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, ON HILLS, AND ON TURNS. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE AND WORRIED ABOUT THESE ISSUES WHILE I'M DRIVING THIS CAR. *TR
THE CAR WILL LOOSE POWER WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC; CAUSING THE CAR TO SLOW OR STOP WHILE MERGING OR PULLING INTO TRAFFIC, TRANSMISSION SLIPS, RPM'S HIGH WHILE STOPPED CAUSING CAR TO SPIN TIRES WHEN LETTING OFF THE BRAKE, CAR WILL SHUTTER, JERK AND STALL WHEN ACCELERATING AND LOST OF POWER. ELECTRICAL - LOW GAS WARNING LIGHT AND GAS GAUGE ISN'T CONSISTENT, MILES TO EMPTY WILL DROP 3 TO 5 MILES WITHOUT WARNING WITHIN 1/2 MILE OR SO. RETURNED CAR TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT, THEY DIDN'T TAKE IT OUT FOR A TEST DRIVE. SECOND APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN MADE WITH ANOTHER FORD DEALER. VARIOUS COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE BY OTHER DRIVERS OF THIS CAR TO VARIOUS WEBSITES AND WORD OF MOUTH; AND TO FORD WITH NO SOLUTION. *TR
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, CAR SHUTTERS. IT CAN HAPPEN WITH USING NO FORCE ON THE GAS OR USING FULL FORCE ON THE GAS. CAR SHUTTERS AND EVEN MAKES A RATTLING NOISE. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS TROUBLE ACCELERATING. WHEN AT A STOPPED POSITION OR DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE THE CAR SPUTTERS, JUMPS, AND ALMOST STALLS OUT. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND INCREASES THE LIKELIHOOD OF BEING HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. WE HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES. THEY ARE EITHER VERY INEPT OR JUST AREN'T CONCERNED ABOUT ACTUALLY FIXING THIS ISSUE. MY DAUGHTER TOOK THE VEHICLE IN ONCE AND THEY TOLD HER SHE HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR 1000 MILES AND THE CAR CAR WOULD FIX ITSELF. MY SISTER OWNS THIS SAME VEHICLE AND IS HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
WITHIN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS/8,000 MILES, I NOTICED A HESITATION WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. I'D STEP ON THE GAS AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN; THEN SUDDENLY I'D BE SPITTING GRAVEL OR LEAVING RUBBER ON THE ROAD. I KNEW THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE CAR AND NOT MY DRIVING. BY 12 MONTHS/12,000 MILES, I STARTED GETTING A "CLUTCH SHUDDER," MOSTLY WHEN ACCELERATING AROUND CORNERS. THE SHUDDERING CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. SOON, IT WAS HAPPENING EVEN WHEN ACCELERATING STRAIGHT AHEAD. NOW THE SHUDDER AND/OR HESITATION HAS BEEN HAPPENING AT HIGHER SPEEDS (AROUND 45 MPH) AND/OR IN HIGHER GEARS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING AND GETTING WORSE FOR OVER A YEAR, SO I DO NOT HAVE A SPECIFIC DATE.
CAR WOULD SHUDDER AND SHAKE WHEN SHIFTING AT LOW SPEEDS. DEALER REPLACED CLUTCH AND THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER, PROBLEM REOCCURRED AND IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITH MORE SHUDDER AND SHAKE. CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER 2 ADDITIONAL TIMES AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SHUDDER WAS WITHIN TOLERANCES, EVEN THOUGH IT IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE.
WITHIN THE FIRST 10,000 MILES OF OWNERSHIP THE TRANSMISSION IN OUR 2014 FORD FOCUS HAS BEEN REBUILT AND THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REBUILT/FIXED AS WELL AS MULTIPLE SOFTWARE UPDATES APPLIED, AND WE HAVE COMPLAINED EVERY TIME WE TAKE THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS STILL BROKEN. IT SHUDDERS, JERKS, RUMBLES, HARD SHIFTS AND EVEN COMES CLOSE TO STALLING WITH NO ACCELERATION/MOVEMENT AT TIMES. I FEAR DRIVING IT THAT I CANNOT TAKE OFF FROM A STOP SAFELY WITHOUT THE TRANSMISSION FAILING AND I WILL END UP BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AS A RESULT. THIS TRANSMISSION IS DANGEROUS AND WILL RESULT IN ACCIDENTS. WORST TRANSMISSION I HAVE EVER OWNED AND FORD WILL NOT FIX NOR BUY US OUT OF THE CAR...ITS A LEMON!
MY TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS, DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY,HESITATES TO GO, AND JERKS WHILE SHIFTING. I TOOK IT TO MT DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THIS IS WITHIN THE SPECS OF FORDS RECENT REPAIR TO THE TRANSMISSION WHICH WAS RECALLED. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND HAVE GOTTEN NOWHERE! THIS ISSUE STARTED IN APRIL OF 2014 AND HAS CONTINUED EVEN AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR.
BRAND NEW 2014 LEASED FORD FOCUS ST REPEATEDLY STALLS AT IDLE. HAS OCCURRED SINCE PURCHASE IN DECEMBER 2013. BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE AT PERRY FORD IN SANTA BARBARA. THEY FIXED IT TEMPORARILY BUT THE ISSUE NOW PERSISTS. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THE CAR MADE A LOUD METALLIC NOISE AND HESITATED SEVERELY, THEN SLAMMED INTO THE NEXT GEAR ALMOST HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF US, WE HAD JUST PURCHASED IT THE DAY BEFORE, GOT THE RUN AROUND FOR 6 WEEKS NOW, DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S WITHIN FORD "SPECS". HAS DONE THIS EVERY DAY, GETS WORSE AND WORS , I HAVE BEEN BEAT UP FROM THE SHAKING, NERVES SHOT FROM THE UNPREDICTABLE BEHAVIOR OF THE CAR, EVERY DAY IS A NEAR MISS OF BAD ACCIDENT, THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE, WHY IS IT FORD NOT RESPONSIBLE? I GUESS WE ARE WAITING ON A LOST LIFE AREN'T WE, SO SAD, WHO'S CHILD? WIFE? FATHER? MOTHER? INNOCENT BYSTANDER? THIS CAR WILL CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT, JUST A MATTER OF TIME, DEFINITELY A LEMON, BUT 3 YEARS NOW! IT ISSSTILL BEING DECEPTIVELY SOLD AT EVERY DEALERSHIP, I WAS A VICTIM, MANY OTHERS, AND MORE TO COME
JERKING UPON GEARS CHANGING.. GRINDING SOUND UPON ACCELERATION AND WHEN TURNING LEFT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY DETERMINED AT 900 MILES THE CAR NEEDED A NEW CLUTCH. THIS WAS REPLACED THINKING IT WOULD FIX THE SHIFTING ISSUES AND THE GRINDING NOISE. THE GRINDING NOISE CAME BACK YESTERDAY AS WELL AS THE CAR TRYING TO CUT OFF AND IDLING VERY LOW AT STOP SIGNS/STOP LIGHTS.. THE GRINDING CONTINUED THROUGH 3RD GEAR. THE DEALERSHIP IS STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS SOUND. REPLACING THE CLUTCH DID FIX THE JERKING AND HARD SHIFTING ISSUES HOWEVER THE GRINDING SOUND IS STILL AN ISSUE. *TR
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
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS SUDDENLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO HAVE THE SOFTWARE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
TRANSMISSION HAS STUTTERED BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR FOR THE ENTIRE TIME I HAVE HAD THE CAR. I HAVE GOTTEN ONE NEW TRANSMISSION AND HAVE HAD IT SERVICED NUMEROUS TIMES. THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME ISSUE - IT HAS HAPPENED FOR THE ENTIRE TIME I HAVE HAD THE CAR AND I AM THE SINGLE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE.
DRIVING MY NEW FOCUS IS A CHALLENGE, ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY,KEEPING THE CAR IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE CAR WANDERS IN EITHER DIRECTION, DEMANDING A CONSTANT GRIP ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP IT GOING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. WHEN THE CAR DRIFTS LEFT OR RIGHT, AND YOU SLIGHTLY STEER TO CORRECT, IT DARTS IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. THIS IS VERY SCARY DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE CARS ON EITHER SIDE OF YOU. THE SERVICE DEPT AT MY DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. THE SALES DEPT. WANTS TO TAKE THE CAR IN FOR TRADE AT A DISCOUNT OF $3500 AND I HAVE OWNED THE CAR A MONTH! I HAVE DRIVEN 3 OTHER FOCUSES, SAME TIRES, ETC AND THEY TRACK STRAIGHT WITHOUT THE CONSTANT CORRECTION/OVERCORRECTION ISSUE. ADVICE? I SEE OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE STRESSFUL AND UNSAFE! WHY SHOULD I LOSE THIS KIND OF MONEY, OR ACCEPT THIS ON A NEW VEHICLE, WHEN THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM I HAVE CREATED?! *TR
CONSISTENT GRINDING NOISE AT ABOUT 2000RMP 2 OR 3 GEAR WITH DECREASE IN POWER. FORD SAYS THIS IS NORMAL. LOSS OF ACCELERATION CAN NOT BE SAFE. *TR
SINCE NEW, THIS CAR SURGES, JUMPS, AND STALLS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS WHEN STARTING FROM STOP. IT DOES NOT DO IT ALL THE TIME BUT OCCASIONALLY. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN ENTERING FAST MOVING HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. THE CAR HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WHEN ENTERING FAST MOVING TRAFFIC FROM A STOPPED POSITION. I BELIEVE SEVERAL MODELS OF THE 2014 FORDS HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT DEFINITELY HAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM BUT I BELIEVE THERE MAY ALSO BE A FUEL PROBLEM, PERHAPS THE FUEL PUMP. IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS PROBLEM KILLS SOMEONE. CAN?T WE REQUIRE FORD TO FIX THIS PROBLEM? I HAVE HAD THIS CAR IN TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TRYING TO GET IT FIXED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ONE FORD EMPLOYEE TOLD ME THAT FORD WOULD ONLY FIX THE TRANSMISSION IF IT IS MAKING A LOUD GRINDING METALLIC SOUND. I HAD THE CAR TESTED AT ONE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION FAILED THEIR TEST AND THEY WOULD REPAIR IT. I LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND WHEN I CAME TO PICK IT UP THEY SAID IT HAD PASSED THEIR TEST THIS TIME AND THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION. THE EMPLOYEE THAT HAD TOLD ME THEY WOULD FIX MY CAR WAS NO LONGER WITH THEM. I AM NOT SURE OF THE EXACT DATES WHEN THE CAR STALLED ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT SO I WILL GIVE YOU MY BEST ESTIMATE ON YOUR FORM. AS AN INDIVIDUAL, I OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO POWER TO REQUIRE FORD TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND FIX MY CAR. YOU ARE THE ONLY ENTITY WITH THIS POWER. MY CAR JERKS AND JUMPS EVERYTIME I TAKE OFF, FROM A DRIVEWAY, STOP SIGN, STOP LIGHT, ETC. FEELS AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION HAS A DEFAULT, LIKE IT IS GOING TO FALL OUT . I CHECKED, THERE ARE NO RECALLS, WHEN I HAVE IT SERVICED, I BRING IT TO THEIR ATTENTION. THEY JUST TELL ME THERE ARE RECALLS. WHEN I TELL THEM I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE, THEY RESPOND, YOU WILL. I FEEL I AM IGNORED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE, I BOUGHT THE CAR, ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO. APRIL 2014. I KNOW IT HAD BEEN SITTING OTHER THAN THEIR LOT FOR QUITE SOME TIME.
WITHOUT EARNING, THIS ELECTRIC VEHICLE'S POWER SYSTEMS DIE, EVEN IF FULLY CHARGED. THE CAR IS LEFT INOPERABLE. A ENGINE LIGHT "STOP SAFELY NOW" APPEARS AND THE CAR CAN'T MOVE. VERY DANGEROUS IF IT HAPPENS IN MOVING TRAFFIC. *TR

IT MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE WHEN WIPERS ARE ON AND IS VERY ANNOYING. DEALERSHIP IS INSTALLING NEW WIPER MOTORS AS I WRITE THIS... 3) MOLDING ON BOTH REAR DOORS AT TOP OF WINDOW KEEP FALLING DOWN, ALSO BEING REPAIRED NOW. 4) CAR DROPS RIMS WHEN AT A STOP AND ALMOST KILLS THE ENGINE..... 5) CAR HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED, THEN JERKS FORWARD. I DRIVE THIS CAR VERY CONSERVATIVELY , LIKE AN OLD MAN, I TAKE GREAT CARE OF ALL MY CARS. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PURCHASE! I'VE OWNED FORDS FOR 25 YEARS AND THE QUALITY IS GREATLY GOING DOWN. THIS VEHICLE HAS DRIVEN ERRATICALLY SINCE I PICKED UP THE CAR AT THE END OF MARCH 2014. THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES IDLES ROUGH ESPECIALLY WHEN ENGINE IS COLD. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ERRATICALLY AND IS NOT SMOOTH. IT DRIVES VERY JERKY AND SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE IT IS BOUNCING AT LOW SPEEDS. CAR WILL LURCH FORWARD OR BACKWARD AFTER STOPPING, WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE AT STOP LIGHTS/SIGNS AND IN PARKING LOTS. I LOVE THE DESIGN, BUT I AM SO DISAPPOINTED. I HAD MY PRIOR CAR FOR 14 YEARS AND NOW I FEEL I AM STUCK WITH THIS ONE FOR 14 YEARS. IT MAKES ME VERY UPSET TO THINK ABOUT IT AFTER SAVING FOR SO LONG TO BUY A NEW CAR. THE DEALER TELLS ME NOTHING IS WRONG. I'M EMBARRASSED TO HAVE A PASSENGER FOR FEAR THEY WILL THINK I AM SUCH A POOR DRIVER. THE CAR BOGS AND FEELS LIKE IT IS BEING HELD BACK BETWEEN 35-45 MPH WHEN IT SHOULD BE SHIFTING. THE TRANSMISSION SPUTTERS WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A DEAD STOP. AT A CONSTANT SPEED THE CAR SHIFTS INTO A HIGHER OR LOWER GEAR. NOISES ARE MADE GRINDING NOISES WHEN CHANGING FROM 1-2-3 GEARS. *TR
THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION HAS ACTED UP ALMOST SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST BRAND NEW CAR AND WAS UNAWARE OF THE CAR SOUNDS AND HOW IT FEELS WHEN DRIVING IT. HOWEVER, A PROBLEM IN THE TRANSMISSION STARTED GETTING MORE NOTICEABLE AS TIME PASSED BY, SUDDENLY IT WOULD SLIP AND HESITATE AT LOW SPEEDS. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT SINCE I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR ONLY A FEW MONTHS. I RECENTLY TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND ALL THEY DID WAS REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER AND GATHER INFORMATION FOR THE FORD MANUFACTURER. NOW THE CAR IS EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE AND DOING THINGS IT DID NOT DO BEFORE I TOOK IT IN. I WANT THE FORD MANUFACTURER TO BUY BACK THIS VEHICLE; I DON'T FEEL SECURE IN IT ANYMORE AND I DON'T CONSIDER IT A RELIABLE WAY OF TRANSPORTATION ANYMORE. I'M STRONGLY CONSIDERING NOT TO GO FOR ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE EVER AGAIN, I'D RATHER GO WITH OTHER MAKES AND MODELS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND AS THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED IN EXCESS, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEARS IN THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AS EVERYONE ELSE WITH THE STUTTERING SHIFTING. I COMPLAINED ABOUT IT WITHIN A DAY OF FIRST PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT IS HOW THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO SHIFT, THEY WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT IT. TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED IT(3/31/2014). IT HESITATES FROM A DEAD STOP OR IN MOTION, SHUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. SLIPS OUT OF GEAR FROM A DEAD STOP OR IN MOTION. AFTER I BROUGHT IT IN FOR A RECALL (1/18/2017) IT NOW SLIPS OUT OF GEAR AND DEALER SAYS IT NEEDS A NEW CLUTCH FOR $2,000 WHEN IT DID NOT HAVE THAT ISSUE BEFORE THE RECALL. I DRIVE 95% HIGHWAY. CAR HAS 76,000 MILES ON IT. IT'S AN AUTOMATIC. I'VE HAD MULTIPLE CARS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS IN THEM AND THEY HAD OVER 200,000 MILES ON THEM WITH NO ISSUES. I BELIEVE THIS TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE AND FORD NEEDS TO REPLACE IT. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES BEGINNING WITH THE FIRST WEEK I HAD IT WITH TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A LOT MORE BUT THEY STATED THIS IS NORMAL. I NOW HAVE A CAR I CAN'T DRIVE NOR HAVE $2,000 TO FIX IT. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY CARS AND EXPECTED THIS TO LAST LONGER THAN 3 YEARS BEFORE A MAJOR REPAIR. NOW WITH THIS KNOWN ISSUE, MY $30,000 VEHICLE THAT I PAID FOR ONLY 3 YEARS AGO IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $6,000 ON A TRADE IN. I STILL OWE $12,000 ON IT. HOW IS THIS NORMAL OR FAIR. FORD FOCUS ST '14 : ON STARTUP THE ENGINE REVS TO 1500 THEN DOWN TO <500RPM AND ALMOST STALLS. I STARTED HEARING A WEIRD NOISE FROM THE FRONT END OF MY CAR. IT'S LIKE A GRINDING NOISE...SOUNDS LIKE ALUMINUM CANS BEING CRUSHED. THE FAILURE THEN RECURRED A THIRD TIME AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER LOCATED AT 1701 BELAIR RD, BEL AIR, MD 21014, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH HAD AGAIN FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
