ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS, I HAVE LOST POWER IN DIFFERENT CONDITIONS. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALERS AND THEY HAVE TRIED TO REPAIR MY PROBLEM EACH TIME. THEY SAID THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION AND HAVE DECIDED TO INCREASE THE POWER-TRAIN WARRANTY. I THINK IT IS NOW UP TO 10 YEARS AND 150,000 MILES. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY JUST WANT TO KEEP FIXING THOSE TRANSMISSIONS AND CONTROL MODULES BUT THE SITUATION IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE LOSS OF POWER HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN SOME DIFFERENT CONDITIONS; FROM GOING UP A HILL IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, TO JUST DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ON A FEW OCCASIONS, WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAYS, MY CAR WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO PASSING GEAR AND EVEN SEEMED TO LOSE POWER AT SPEEDS OF 55-65 MPH WHEN TRYING TO PASS OTHER VEHICLES. ON TWO SPECIFIC OCCASIONS, MY CAR WAS UNABLE TO GO INTO PASSING GEAR AS I TRIED TO PASS ANOTHER CAR. HOWEVER, LAST WEEK AND ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO I LOST POWER WHILE I WENT TO PASS A VEHICLE ON A TWO LANE ROAD AND HAD TO DROP BACK BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT RESPOND AND ACTUALLY LOST POWER AT A MOMENT THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION IF THE CAR I WAS PASSING WOULD HAVE SLOWED DOWN AT THE SAME TIME I LOST POWER AND THE ON COMING CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN. THIS HAS BEEN SCARY AND SURPRISES ME BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO BE AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. THEY SAID IT IS HAPPENING TO MANY OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES AS WELL. I WOULD HAVE REPORTED THIS SOONER IF I HAD KNOWN THIS NHTSA SITE WAS AVAILABLE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO JUST KEEP PUTTING OUT UNSAFE VEHICLES AND CONTINUE REPAIRING THEM WHEN SUCH A DANGEROUS CONDITION RISKS THE LIVES OF ANYONE WHO PASSES ANOTHER VEHICLE ON A TWO-LANE HIGHWAY. I HOPE IT DOESN'T TAKE A SCHOOL BUS WITH KIDS GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT TO GET CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN TO REMEDY THIS UNSAFE CONDITION.
CAR HESITATES AND DOES NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY. TAKE OFFS ARE DANGEROUS BECAUSE CAR SHIFTS RADICALLY.
CAR SPUTTERS, HESITATES, MAKES CLINKING NOISES WHEN ACCELERATING. ENTIRE FRONT END INCLUDING STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND VEHICLE HESTITATES WHEN GIVEN GAS. WHEN STOPPED CAR RANDOMLY IDLES WITHOUT USING GAS PEDAL, EVEN COMPLETELY LOSES POWER AS IF OUT OF GAS REQUIRING CAR TO BE RESTARTED. ENGINE ALSO SHIFTS GEARS LATE IN RPM SEQUENCE. I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET THE ISSUE RELATED TO THE GAS CYCLINDER WHICH IS THE OPEN RECALL AND THESE PROBLEMS CONTINUE TO PERSIST. PROBLEM HAS PERSISNTED EVERY DAY SINCE DATE SELECTED WHIHC IS WHEN I PURCHASED VEHICLE.
I OWN A 2015 FORD FOCUS AND A 2016 FORD FOCUS BOTH WERE IN AN ACCIDENT. THE 2015 FORD FOCUS WAS T-BONED. I GOT INJURED AND THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAGS. THE 2016 FORD FOCUS WAS REAR - ENDED AND I SUSTAINED ADDITIONAL INJURIES AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY EITHER. THE T-BONE I WAS ENTERING THE INTERSECTION ON A GREEN LIGHT. THE 2016 I WAS STOPPED AND A CAR IN FRONT OF ME MAKING A LEFT TURN WHEN SOMEONE SLAMMED INTO ME DOING 35 MILES PER HOUR. BOTH TIMES NEITHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE 2015 SUSTAINED OVER 10,000 IN DAMAGE IT IS THE RED VEHICLE HAD A BROKEN TIE ROD AS WELL AS INJURIES.
THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BUT DECELERATION WAS SIGNIFICANTLY DELAYED. THE STEERING SHUDDERED AND THE CAR JERKED FROM SIDE TO SIDE. FRONT END SHUDDERED REPEATEDLY.
THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. ABOUT 45000 MILES ON THE CAR AND IT WAS OUT OF WARRENTY. NOW WHEN YOU TRY TO DRIVE IT JERKS AROUND. IT COULD EASILY TOSS YOU INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATED AND THE READINGS WERE INCONCLUSIVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY, CHECK ENGINE, AND OIL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE MAY OF 2017. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION. FURTHERMORE, UPON FILLING THE FUEL TANK, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHAKE/TREMBLE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE STATIONARY. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AND APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REMOVED THE FUEL TANK TO ASSESS THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. WALDORF FORD (2440 CRAIN HIGHWAY, WALDORF, MARYLAND 20601, (301) 843-2400) WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH, the key fob was inadvertently touched and the rear lift gate erroneously opened. The contact indicated that the fob was not pressed twice as needed to open the hatch. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA campaign number 16V698000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages, Structure). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 15,000.
THE TRUNK SUSPENSIONS ARE NOT ADEQUATE AND HAVE ALLOWED THE TRUNK TO CLOSE ON THE OWNERS AND FAMILY MEMBERS NUMEROUS TIMES CAUSING ABRASIONS AND HEMATOMAS. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES WERE NOTIFIED SEVERAL TIMES, HERE IN KINGMAN, AZ. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, NEW IN EUGENE, OREGON AND THIS PROBLEM WAS EVIDENT. "NO CORRECTIONS ARE AVAILABLE." WHY?
I PURCHASED MY FIRST FORD FOCUS IN 2012 AND WAS FORCED TO TRADE IT AFTER NEEDING 3 CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS IN ONLY 20K MILES OF DRIVING. AFTER REASSURANCE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY OF A NEW REDESIGNED TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH IN THE 2015 MODELS WITH NO KNOWN ISSUES AFTER CONSIDERABLE TESTING, I TRADED MY FIRST FOCUS FOR MY SECOND. TO MY OUTRAGE, NOT ONLY WAS I SOLD A CAR WITH A KNOWN FAULTY CLUTCH BUT I JUST RECEIVED MY SECOND CLUTCH REPLACEMENT.. THIS TIME IN ONLY 13K MILES OF DRIVING. IN A REQUEST TO FORD TO BUY MY CAR BACK, I WAS TOLD MY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH MY FIRST FOCUS WOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE CURRENT REQUEST FOR BUYBACK. NEXT, I WAS TOLD BY A REGIONAL MANAGER REVIEWING MY CASE, THAT THE CLUTCHES CONTINUED TO FAIL BECAUSE I DID NOT "DRIVE MY CAR AGGRESSIVELY ENOUGH" DESPITE FORD ACKNOWLEDGING THOUSANDS BEING AFFECTED BY THEIR FAULTY CLUTCHES AND CURRENT CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD. FINALLY, IN SOLIDARITY FOR DENYING MY REQUEST FOR BUYBACK, I WAS OFFERED 6-FREE OIL CHANGES (VALUED ~$180), A SLAP IN FACE FOR THE NEARLY $50,000 I HAVE PAID FORD OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS FOR TWO FORD FOCUSES. IN TOTAL, I HAVE HAD 5 CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS IN 5 YEARS IN TWO CARS; UNACCEPTABLE.
I JUST BOUGHT A USED 2015 FORD FOCUS, RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING THERE WAS JUMPING AND SPUTTERING AS I START DRIVING. I SEE THIS AS A SAFETY PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE NOT JUST FOR ME BUT OTHERS WITH THIS PROBLEM. AS YOU CAN SEE IF YOUR READING THIS I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, OVER 50 PEOPLE WITH IT, JUST CALLED DIFFERENT NAMES. TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS WHEN TAKING OFF AND WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. A POOR EXCUSE FOR A TRANSMISSION WHEN THE REST OF THE CAR IS GREAT. IM SORRY FORD BUT THIS IS NOT NORMAL! THE NHTSA NEEDS TO QUIT STALLING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.
TRANSMISSION SKIPS, SURGES, STALLS AT LOW SPEED OR ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. I AM SEEING LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE FROM OWNERS AND NO REMEDIES FROM FORD!!! A RECALL MUST BE STARTED!!! VERY DANGERIOUS.
TAKATA RECALL. WHEN DRIVING COMPUTER OR TRANSMISSION DOES NOT CHANGE GEARS ON TIME. SOMETIMES STAYS IN FIRST GEAR PAST 20MPH. PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING ON FREEWAY AND NEED TO SPEED UP. TAKATA RECALL. ALSO SEATBELTS WILL NOT RELEASE SOMETIMES WHEN I NEED TO GET OUT OF CAR. IT WILL PARTIALLY UNLOCK BUT SEATBELT WILL STILL BE LOCKED IN PLACE. I MUST PUSH SEATBELT BACK IN PLACE TO TOTALLY LOCK IT AGAIN THE PRESS RED BUTTON TO RELEASE. VERY DANGEROUS
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle briefly shuddered. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure but performed a reprogramming of the transmission control module. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 9,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED AND CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE "STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTION" MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE EPAS ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED. THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,039.
The clutch/transmission. From day one this new car had issues with the clutch. It was reported to the dealer on [XXX] and they ran a clutch test. They said it passed. The problem is, this shutter/jerking occurs intermittently. It has been going on since then. We took it in to the ford dealer locally last week. They confirmed it was the clutch, and that it would cost $3200 to fix. There was no warning light. The vehicle has been taken care of all these years. Why didn't Ford notify the owners on this Customer Satisfaction Program 14M08 which is the clutch/transmission?? The car is available anytime anywhere someone would like to look at it. WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN 2015. LAST YEAR THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SKIP OR JUMP, JERK AT LOW SPEED AND ALSO WHEN YOU EXCELLERATED. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY FIXED, WE THOUGHT. THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP NOW FOR THE SAME ISSUE. IT'S ONLY BEEN 6 MONTHS, AND THE CAR HAS ONLY 21,000 MILES ON IT. CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY DRIVING.
TAKATA RECALL MY CLUTCH WAS MESSED UP IN THIS CAR WHEN I FIRST LEASED IT FROM US AUTO SALES BACK IN FEBRUARY 2017 AND I HAD RENTAL FOR A WEEK ONLY BECAUSE THE WARRANTY COVERED IT. NOW THE CLUTCH IS MESSED AGAIN AND I WAS TOLD I'LL HAVE TO PAY $2000 FOR IT TO BE FIX! IS THERE ANYWAY YOU GUYS CAN RECALL MY CAR BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY TO KEEP SPENDING ON THIS CAR BECAUSE THE SAME PROBLEM KEEP OCCURRING. IS ALWAYS JERKS AND DON'T ACCELERATE THE SPEED OF THE CAR THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS ANYWHERE.
THE CAR SPEAKERS HAVE BEEN MAKING POPPING AND CRACKLING SOUNDS SO LOUD THAT I HAVE JUMPED WHILE DRIVING, INCLUDING ONCE JERKING THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY PATTERN (NO TIES TO TURNING, ACCELERATING, BRAKING, BUMPS IN THE ROAD, ETC.) TO THE SOUNDS. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE STEREO IS ON OR OFF, INCLUDING AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF UNTIL THE DOOR IS OPENED. I HAVE RESULTED TO WEARING EAR PLUGS WHILE DRIVING SO THAT I DON'T JUMP AND/OR JERK THE STEERING WHEEL - SOMETHING THAT IS NOT SAFE, BUT SAFER THAN THE ALTERNATIVE. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND PROVIDED THEM WITH A VIDEO OF THE SOUNDS, BUT THEY COULD NOT GET THE SOUND TO OCCUR WHILE WORKING ON ANOTHER ISSUE. THEY ASKED ME TO BRING IT BACK WHEN IT STARTS MAKING THE SOUNDS AGAIN, WHICH IT BEGAN DOING VERY RECENTLY. HAVING GOOGLED THE PROBLEM, I'VE FOUND AT LEAST A DOZEN OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH 2012 AND 2013 FORD FOCUSES, BUT HAVE NOT FOUND ANY INDIVIDUALS WHO REPORTED THE ISSUE BEING RESOLVED. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS IS AN URGENT SAFETY MANNER AND SHOULD BE HANDLED VERY SERIOUSLY AT THE COST OF FORD MOTORS. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT REVERSE WHEN PLACED INTO THE REVERSE GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (POWER TRAIN) REGARDING THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH DUNPHY FORD (7700 FRANKFORD AVE, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19136, 215-624-6700) AND WAS ADVISED TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NOT TO BE REPAIRED FOR THE RECALL. MY CAR STALLS SHAKES AND STUDDERS WHEN I ACCELERATE, EVEN AFTER I TURN THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF IT CONTINUES ,I'VE NEARLY BEEN REAR ENDED PLENTY OF TIMES. I DON'T FEEL SAFE AND EITHER DOES MY PASSENGERS AS AND I'M SURE THIS JERKING AS AND TIRE SPINNING WILL CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS.

WHEN I PUSH ON GAS IT TAKE A WHILE TO SPEED UP. ALSO IT IDOLS SOMETIMES. TAKE AWHILE TO GEAR UP TO SPEED. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS DRAGGING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND SPUN OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE CONTACT HAD HIT THE BARRIER AND THEN MOVED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND UNAWARE IF ANY WARNING LIGHTS HAD ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON HIS VEHICLE UNDER NHTSA RECALL NUMBER18V735 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) THAT HE LINKED TO THE FAILURE. MY CAR HAS HAD PROBLEMS SHIFTING FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR IN DEC 2016 I TOOK IT IN AND THEY DID NOTHING TOLD ME SOMETIMES IT WILL SHIFT LIKE THAT (BOUGHT CAR IN TEXAS) FOR ALMOST 4YRS IT WOULD NOT SHIFT PROPERLY AND FINALLY A RECALL WAS MADE ON THE CLUTCH I TOOK IT IN AND THEY PUT THE PART IN AND IT CONTINUES TO STUTTER WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, CHANGING LANES, OR TRYING TO PASS A VEHICLE IN THE BEGINNING OF PROCESS AND ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CLUTCH THE PART FOR THE CLUTCH WAS PUT IN AND IT GOT WORSE! NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. TOOK BACK TO MERTZ FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT'S FINE NO FURTHER ACTION TAKEN
Power train in the car. Yes the car is available for inspection if requested. 1) The car shakes, jerks, and shudders. It will randomly cut off/stall. First and Second gear upon take off makes a winding up noise then gives a big/quick jerk. When I drive down the highway there have been numerous times these issues have occurred while driving my car on the interstate at interstate speed. 2) The car was purchased from Autonation in Sanford, FL in 2017 as a used vehicle. After purchasing the car the the above mentioned issues began to occur. Upon returning back to Autonation several times with concerns regarding the issues above there was an attempt each time to correct the issue by replacing parts. Invoice is available upone request, such as sensors, and the transmission clutch. Your prompt attention to this matter and issuing a recall for the 2015 Ford Focus with the above mentioned VIN number, is necessary and should not be delayed due to safety concerns. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY FORD OWNED USED FOCUS I NOTICED A SHUDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE CLUTCH NEEDED REPALCED UNDER WARRANTY BUT PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE I WAITED 6 WEEKS FOR PARTS. THE REPAIRS TOOK ABOUT A WEEK. AFTER ABOUT 3 THOUSAND MILES WHILE TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE THE CAR LOST POWER. I DISCOVERED IT WOULD ONLY GO IN 1ST OR SECOND GEAR USING MANUAL SHIFTING. I WAS ABLE TO EVENTALLY GET TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD CLUTCH NEEDED REPLACING. ANOTHER THREE WEEK WAIT ON PARTS. IMMEDIATLY AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK I NOTICED THE SHUDDER WAS BACK. I RETURNED TO MY LOCAL DELER WHERE I WAS TOLD ANOTHER PART IN THE TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN. IT WAS REPLACED. I DROVE THE CAR ANOTHER 15,000 MILES WHEN THE SHUDDER CAME BACK. AGAIN I RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE I WAS TOLD THE CLUTCH WOULKD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $2,600 BECAUSE IT WAS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. I COMPLAINED AND WAS EVENTUALLY CHARGED $1,100 FOR THE CLUTCH REPLACEMENT. I HAVE OWNED NEARLY 30 FORD VEHICLES IN MY LIFE BUT I HAVE NEVER HAD AN EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS WITH ANY OTHER. I AM PERPLEXED THAT FORD SEEMS OBLIVIOUS TO THE PROBLEMS THIS CAR HAS CAUSED.
THERE IS EXTREME DISTORTION OF THE IMAGE ON THE INSIDE MANUAL (NON-ELECTRONIC) REAR-VIEW MIRROR WHEN THE MIRROR IS SET TO THE "NIGHT" POSITION. THE MIRRORS ARE OK WHEN SET TO THE "DAY" POSITION. I HAVE OBSERVED THIS DEFECT IN THE MIRROR OF MY PERSONAL FORD FOCUS 2015, AND IN OTHER FORD VEHICLES I HAVE EXAMINED ON FORD DEALER LOTS. WHEN SET TO THE NIGHT POSITION, ANY MOVEMENT OF THE DRIVER'S HEAD RELATIVE TO THE MIRROR CAUSES SEVERE DISTORTION OF THE IMAGE WHETHER THE MOVEMENT IS IN THE VERTICAL OR HORIZONTAL PLANE (HOWEVER, MOVEMENT IN THE HORIZONTAL PLANE APPEARS TO CAUSE WORSE DISTORTION THAN IN THE VERTICAL). THIS DISTORTION IS MOST DISCONCERTING TO FOLKS WHO DRIVE AT NIGHT, AND COULD CAUSE THE DRIVER TO PERCEIVE THAT ANOTHER VEHICLE IS CLOSER/FARTHER BEHIND THAN IT ACTUALLY IS, OR TO PERCEIVE THAT IT IS IN A LANE OTHER THAN WHERE IT ACTUALLY IS. WHEN I DEMONSTRATED THIS TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER SERVICE MANAGER AND TRIED TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM, HE PERMITTED ME TO OBSERVE THE MIRROR IN OTHER VEHICLES ON THE LOT, ALL OF WHICH DEMONSTRATED THE SAME DEFECT. HE CLAIMS THAT IF A "DEFECT" APPEARS ON OTHER COMPARABLE VEHICLES, IT IS NOT REALLY A DEFECT AND IS "NORMAL." ANYONE WHO SUBSCRIBES TO SUCH NONSENSICAL LOGIC MUST SURELY BE LIVING IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE!
I RENTED A VEHICLE FROM ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR. I DID NOT RECEIVE THE VEHICLE I RESERVED AND PAID FOR. THREE OUT OF THE FOUR VEHICLES SET ASIDE FOR UBER DRIVERS WERE BADLY STAINED ON THE INSIDE AND NOT WASHED ON THE OUTSIDE. THE ONLY VEHICLE OPTION LEFT FOR ME TO DRIVE FOR UBER WAS A 2015 FORD FOCUS, WHICH WAS STAINED ON THE INSIDE AND NOT WASHED ON THE OUTSIDE. I TRIED TO ASK FOR A REFUND AND WAS TOLD I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR THE RENTAL AND WAS LOCKED INTO THE AGREEMENT AS AN UBER DRIVER. I ASKED FOR A BETTER VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY AT THE TIME FOR ME TO TRADE THE LAST VEHICLE OUT FOR. BASICALLY, I WAS STUCK WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CAR BEGINS TO JERK AS I ACCELERATE OR DRIVE. I INFORMED THE RENTAL CAR BRANCH, RENTAL CAR CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THE RENTAL CAR CORPORATE OFFICE. NONE OF THESE DEPARTMENTS/DIVISIONS OF ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR SEEM TO BE CONCERNED REGARDING THE CONDITION OF THE CAR NOR HOW IT FUNCTIONS. MY UBER PASSENGERS (ESP. MALE PASSENGERS) HAVE BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION THAT IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND THAT I NEED TO GET IT FIXED. I HAVE ESCALATED THE MATTER TO UBER SO THEY ARE AWARE THAT ENTERPRISE IS NOT MAINTAINING THE CARS DESIGNATED FOR UBER DRIVERS NOR MEETING THEIR STANDARDS. I HAVE CONTACTED ENTERPRISE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS TO BE PUT IN ANOTHER CAR OR GET MY MONEY BACK AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR THEIR WRONGDOING NOR RECTIFY THE SITUATION. THE CONDITION OF THE CAR AND HOW IT RUNS HAS AFFECTED MY UBER DRIVER RATINGS, INTERFERED WITH ME GETTING RIDE REQUEST, AND PROHIBITED ME FROM MEETING MY UBER DRIVER RIDE QUOTA FOR THE WEEK. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INQUIRED ABOUT A MANUFACTURER EXTENDED SERVICE CAMPAIGN (14M02) TO DETERMINE A SOLUTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
CAR IS SLOW AT ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND SHAKES AS IT ACCELERATES. CAR HAS TROUBLE TURNING ON AND WHEN IT DOES IT SHAKES. IT DOES THAT REGARDLESS IF THE ENGINE IS COLD OR WARM. AS YOU MERGE INTO A HWY IT IS SLOW AT GETTING TO SPEED AND THE ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE IS NOT IN GEAR.

THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE NEW OWNER OF THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD DUAL CLUTCHES, WHICH WOULD COST $1,300 TO REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED A WEEK LATER, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO KEEP THE REPAIR RECORDS FOR REIMBURSEMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.

THE VENTS IN THE REAR BUMPER WERE DEFECTIVE. THEY ALLOWED SQUIRRELS/RODENTS TO ENTER THE TRUNK COMPARTMENT OF THE PARKED CAR OVER A WEEKEND. THEY ATE THE LINING AND SEAT BELTS. THE BUMPER, TRUNK LINING, BOTTOM OF SEATS WHERE THEY MEET THE TRUNK, AND REAR SEAT BELTS HAD TO BE REPLACED.
BOUGHT MY 2015 FOCUS WITH 31000 FROM A DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WENT THROUGH A 182 POINT INSPECTION AND WITH IN 2 DAYS OF OWNING HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION "REPROGRAMMED" BECAUSE OF A NASTY SHUTTERING FROM A STOP AND IT WAS FINE FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS AND IS GOING BACK INTO THE SHOP TOMORROW BECAUSE IT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THERE REALLY IS NO FIX. IF I WOULD OF KNOW THIS BEFORE BUYING THE CAR THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SOLD TO ME... IT WAS JERKING AND WOULDN'T GET POWER TO DRIVE. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIPS FOR 2 YEARS AND THEY HAVEN'T TRIED FIXING IT. I WOULD LIKE AN ARBITRATION AGREEMENT.
