IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER (GOSCH FORD TEMECULA, 26895 YNEZ RD, TEMECULA, CA 92591, (951) 708-9148) REPLACED THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V479000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER ALSO HAD 19 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THE POWER TRAIN. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY, SERVICE CAMPAIGN, OR RECALL TO PROVIDE A REPAIR SOLUTION. THE DEALER MENTIONED THAT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, SEAL ASSEMBLY, AND ADDITIONAL REPAIRS MAY BE REQUIRED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. WHILE REVERSING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ACCELERATED IN REVERSE AND CRASHED INTO TWO OTHER VEHICLES. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR THE BODY DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN TO FRONTIER FORD DEALER (3701 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SANTA CLARA, CA 95051) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,440.

MY CAR LOST POWER WHEN I WANT TO START AFTER I STOP IN A RED LIGHT AS WELL IT MAKES WEIRD NOISES, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I THE CAR IS FINE, THAT THEY RESET THE COMPUTER, THE CAR WAS FINE FOR TWO DAYS AND WHEN BACK TO THE SAME THINK AND NOW IS GETTING WORST

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH IN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME WITH NO FAILURE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE ENGINE REVVED TO 100 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE RPM WAS AT 8. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. PURCHASED MID AUGUST 2016. WE HAVE PUT APPROX 750 MILES ON IT IN THAT SHORT TIME. 1ST INCIDENT, MY WIFE STOPPED AND WHILE THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE ROLLED BACKWARDS ON AN INCLINE THAT RESEMBLES LEVEL. 2. FROM STOP ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE IT JUMPS, STUTTERS AND BARLEY MOVES. WE HAVE ALREADY HAD A NEAR COLLISION IN AN INTERSECTION DUE TO THIS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE GETTING ON THE ON RAMP IT IS SO SLUGGISH AT TIMES, THAT WE ARE NOT EVEN AT PROPER SPEED TO GET ON A FREEWAY. UNSAFE, PURCHASED FROM ENTERPRISE WHO TOLD US NOTHING ABOUT THIS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. ENTERPRISE IS ALLOWING PEOPLE DRIVE AWAY IN THESE PILES. IF THERE HASN'T BEEN DEATHS, THERE WILL BE. ENTERPRISE IS NOT ADVISING CUSTOMERS OF THIS BECAUSE THEY HAVE MANY IN THEIR FLEET THEY MUST MOVE OUT. SHAME ON THEM. NOTE: THE FOLLOWING FROM THE ENTERPRISE WEB SITE. WORRY FREE OWNERSHIP. THE SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED, NOTHING HIT IT AND THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES NEARBY.
TWICE PULLING ON TO A BUSY HWY MY CAR HAS STALLED/SHUDDERED, AND LOST POWER. BOTH TIMES HEAT GAUGE SKY ROCKETING. THE LAST TIME MY CAR TURNED OFF ENTIRELY, AND HAD OVER HEATED. HOWEVER IT HAD ONLY BEEN IN OPERATION FOR ABOUT 5 MIN. BOTH TIMES ON A BUSY HWY. FIRST TIME I TOOK IT IN, THEY SAID IT WAS A MODULE UPDATE. TWO WEEKS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND WORSE. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER LETTING IT SIT FOR 5 MINUTES. THEY REPLACED GASKETS, AND BLEW THEM ON THEIR TEST DRIVE. REPLACED A HOSE AND GASKETS AGAIN. MY CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME TWO DAYS AGO, AND LESS THAN 50 MILES LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE COOLANT WAS HALF FULL, AND IN THE COURSE OF ROUGHLY 30 MINUTES OF OPERATION IT HAD GONE THROUGH HALF OF THE COOLANT. YET THERE IS NO TRACE OF A LEAK ON THE GROUND. IN ADDITION TO ALL OF THAT, ON THE FIRST FIX THE AC HAD CUT OUT TWICE WHICH SINCE THEY HAVE CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED. WITH ALL OF THIS, IT HAD CREATED QUITE A FOWL SMELL IN MY CAR AS A RESULT. MY CAR AT THIS POINT, MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 21 BUSINESS DAYS (NOT INCLUDING SATURDAYS.. WHICH THEY WORK), THE ISSUES STARTED MID AUGUST AND IT IS NOW OCTOBER 7TH. THEY OFFERED TO GIVE US THE CAR BACK AND THAT IT WAS "JUST AN AIR BUBBLE". DESPITE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON AND EXCESSIVE LOSS OF COOLANT. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN MOTION EACH TIME IT HAS HAD AN ISSUE. THE FIRST ISSUE I WAS JUST PULLING ON TO THE HWY, SO WAS JUST ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THE SECOND TIME I HAD REACHED THE HWY SPEED OF 55 MPH. (SEPARATE INCIDENT, THEY ALSO HAD TO REPLACE A FAULTY SEATBELT).
AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES AND HOUR GOING THRU A GREEN LIGHT I WAS CUT OFF BY SOMEONE MAKING A LEFT IN FRONT OF ME. 9600$ WORTH OF FRONT END DAMAGE AND THE PASSENGER HIT HER HEAD CAUSING A CONCISION AND SPRAINED NECK AND BACK, WEARING HER SEATBELT, I BELIEVE HER INJURIES HAPPENED BECAUSE NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED
TRANSMISSION CONTINUES TO SLIP. CAR FLUTTERS AND JERKS AT EVERY START.
ACCELERATION ISSUES UP ACCELERATION IT FEELS AS IF THE FORD FOCUS IS STRUGGLING TO ACCEL WITH WORRIES ME SINCE I JUST BOUGHT IT NO EVEN A WEEK AGO. I THINK FORD NEEDS TO CHECK IN TO THE MULTIPLE DIFFERENT ISSUES BEING REPORTED ABOUT THESE CARS FOR BEING BASICALLY BRAND NEW I SHOULD NOT HAVE ISSUES ON ACCELERATION.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the vehicle shuddered or hesitated while idling. Additionally, the failure also occurred while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the transmission intermittently failed to shift as designed, and the vehicle stalled while driving. The vehicle was occasionally coasted or pushed to the side of the road, and several attempts were made to restart the vehicle. However, the failure recurred while driving at various speeds or while the vehicle was idling. The failure had become more persistent. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving approximately 50 - 55 MPH, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The “Service Vehicle Soon” and an unknown warning were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the TCM had failed, causing the transmission to overheat, reaching over 1,000 degrees, causing damage to the shifting forks. The wiring harness was burned due to the failure. The mechanic stated that the PCM had caused damage to the forward gears. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall or covered under warranty. The manufacturer opened a case and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

TAKATA RECALL WHEN TAKING OFF SEATBELT IT DOES NOT FULLY RELEASE FROM LOCK. CLICK THE UNLOCK/RELEASE BUTTON TO SEATBELT AND IT CLICKS UNLOCK BUT DOES NOT RELEASE SEATBELT FROM LOCK. MUST PUSH SEATBELT BACK INTO LOCK AND CLICK BUTTON AGAIN, SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES IN ORDER FOR SEAT TO RELEASE FROM LATCH/LOCK. ONLY KNOWN TO HAPPEN TO CAR WHEN PARKED. CAR ON OR OFF SEATBELT DOESN'T RELEASE.

THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND SMOKE FUMES WERE NOTICED. THE PASSENGER RECEIVED A NECK INJURY FROM THE SEAT BELT AND THE CHILD BIT THEIR TONGUE UPON IMPACT. AT TIMES UPON TAKE OFF, TRANSMISSION WILL STALL AND NOT GO EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE PRESSING ACCELERATOR. DOES NOT DO IT EVERY TIME STARTING OFF SO THEREFORE IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC. ALSO TRANSMISSION QUIVERS AND CAN HEAR METAL GRINDING OR CLANGING AT TIMES. ON ONE OCCASION, WE WERE PULLING OUT OF INGLES ONTO HIGHWAY AND IT WOULD NOT GO EVEN WITH ACCELLARATOR BEING PUSHED , AND ALL OF SUDDEN IT PICKS UP AND GOES. THIS CANNOT BE NORMAL AS I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MANUFACTURER. IF IT IS , IT'S DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC.

SHORTLY AFTER, THE REPAIR FAILED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED FOUR TIMES, BUT NONE OF THE REPAIRS SERVICED THE VEHICLE PROPERLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE ECM MODULE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMEDY DID NOT COMPLETELY REPAIR THE FAILURE BECAUSE IT CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the vehicle was sputtering, and the engine was showing symptoms of losing motive power and shutting down. The contact stated that the transmission failed to properly shift between second and third gears. The contact stated that the vehicle previously shut down unexpectedly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V169000 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the key, TCM, and clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Performance Ford (906 Route 10 West Randolph, NJ 07869); where it was diagnosed that the clutch and TCM needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but the manufacturer declined a buyback. The manufacturer confirmed there was no warranty coverage on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND LOW SPEED, THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND RIGHT AWAY, SHAKES AND THEN JUMPS FORWARD. MERGING INTO TRAFFIC IS A CONCERN OF AM I GOING TO GET HIT. IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC I HAVE TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES FROM HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. IT IS IN THE DEALS KNOW AND THEY TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. THEY HAD TO ORDER A CLUTCH AND TOLD ME TO DRIVE THE CAR WHILE THE PART COMES IN. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. IT ONLY HAS 25,000 MILES AND IS AN AUTOMATIC.
HAVE HAD MY FORD FOCUS JUST OVER 2 MONTHS. WHEN I BOUGHT IT NOTICED THAT IT SEEMED TO HESITATE WITH ACCELERATION AFTER I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER THEY ASSURED ME THAT THEY RESET MY TRANSMISSION AND EVERYTHING WOULD BE FINE. IT STILL HAS BEEN DOING IT. HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT MY OPTIONS ARE. IT DOES WELL ON THE HIGHWAY BUT ON THE STREET OR REGULAR TRAFFIC IT DOES IT EVERY TIME. IT BOTHERS ME BECAUSE IVE BEEN ALMOST HIT A COUPLE TIMES BECAUSE IT SHAKES AND THEN GOES.

WHILE THE GRILL IS LARGELY COSMETIC IF IT FALLS OUT AND IS RUN OVER OR HITS ANOTHER VEHICLE IT CAN POSE A SAFETY RISK. NOTICED THIS HAPPENING ON MY OWN CAR AND GOOGLED IT, HUNDREDS OF OTHERS HAVE ALSO REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE, NO RECALL OR EVEN TSB.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC PRIOR TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL COVERED UNDER THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND WORSENED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BACK AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR WAS REPLACED A SECOND TIME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT 11 MONTHS AFTER THE FIRST REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FUEL PUMP FAILURE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE NEEDED TO START THE VEHICLE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

I POWERED ON THE CAR, SELECTED DRIVE OR REVERSE, AND PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR BUT THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. THE GREEN CAR WITH THE ARROWS INDICATING THAT THE CAR IS READY WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE HANDBRAKE WAS RELEASED. THE LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CORRECTLY SHOWED THE GEAR THAT THE LEVER WAS IN, AND WHEN IN REVERSE THE BACKUP CAMERA CAME ON AS USUAL. THERE HAVE BEEN THREE INSTANCES OF THIS MALFUNCTION HAPPENING IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS. WHICH PROMPTED ME TO TAKE IT INTO THE LOCAL FORD SERVICE SHOP. FORD ENGINEERING HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE ISSUE SINCE OCTOBER OF 2015, AND HAS NO ESTIMATION OF A SCHEDULED FIX. THEY HAVE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO TURN OFF AND ON THE CAR UNTIL IT IS ABLE TO DRIVE (USUALLY TAKES 3 OR 4 CYCLES). WHEN PARKED ON A SLOPE IT ACTS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL (WHEN IN DRIVE OR REVERSE) SO THE CAR WILL ROLL UNINTENTIONALLY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT THE CAR IS MALFUNCTIONING UNTIL IT DOESN'T MOVE OR IT ROLLS UNINTENTIONALLY. ALSO THE RANDOMNESS OF THE MALFUNCTIONS DOES NOT GIVE ME PEACE IN MIND, AS IT IS MY PRIMARY TRANSPORTATION AND ONLY CAR I OWN.

THERE IS NO CONFIRMATION A FIX HAS BEEN MANUFACTURED, THUS LEAVING ONE TO BELIEVE DEFECTIVE PARTS ARE BEING REPLACED BY MORE DEFECTIVE PARTS. CLUTCH SLIPS, WILL SPORADICALLY JERK UPON ACCELERATING FROM DEAD STOP OR QUICKLY NEEDING TO BRAKE. FAILURE TO INCREASE SPEED UPON ACCELERATING. SHUDDERS WITH (NON-SUDDEN) BRAKING. DATE NOTED ON BOTTOM IS APPROXIMATE GUESS ON WHEN ISSUE WAS FIRST REPORTED AND TOLD "THIS IS NORMAL" BY FORD (PRIOR TO CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE).

I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPT TWICE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ELECTRONIC ENGINE HAS TO TO USED TO MY HANDLING THE VEHICLE THAT WAS AFTER 1600 MILES. IT NEVER STRAIGHTENED OUT SO I TOOK IT BACK AT 6000 MILES AND THE SAVE SERVICE ATTENDENT TOLD ME AGAIN THAT IT WAS STILL GETTING USED TO ME. WELL I'M AT 7600 MILES AND IT SPUTTERS, TENDS TO CHOKE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND WHEN I GET TO A STOP IT DRIVES LIKE IT NEEDS A TUNE-UP. I WILL TAKE IT IN AGAIN TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RICH FORD LOCATED AT 8601 LOMAS BLVD NE, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87112, AND THE MOTOR MOUNT, CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING, RELEASE CYLINDER BEARING, PURGE VALVE WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
MY 2015 FORD FOCUS' TRANSMISSION STARTED TO "SHUDDER" WITH A JERKING MOTION WHEN ACCELERATING AT LOW RPM. ALSO I'VE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER/DELAYED ACCELERATION WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING UP A HILL, CAUSING THE CAR TO NOT ACCELERATE FOR ABOUT TWO SECONDS WHEN I NEED IT. THERE WAS A MESSAGE "TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING", THEN "PRESS BRAKE PEDAL" WHEN I WAS IDLING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO SERRAMONTE FORD WHERE I BOUGHT IT, AND BILL THE SERVICE PERSON TOLD ME THAT "FORD FOCUS' ARE SUPPOSED TO SHUDDER, BUT THAT IT PROBABLY HAD A BAD DOUBLE-CLUTCH THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THAT THERE WAS A 12-WEEK BACK ORDER FROM THE MANUFACTURER, AND THAT THEY WOULD REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER AND THAT SHOULD HELP THE SHUDDER PROBLEM AS A TEMPORARY FIX. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT THAT I WAITED FOUR DAYS FOR, THEN HE TOLD ME THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT THAT IT WOULD BE 3-7 DAYS BEFORE HE COULD LOOK AT IT. WHEN I CALLED BILL THREE TIMES 3DAYS IN A ROW TO SEE IF IT WAS FIXED AND HIM IGNORING THE MESSAGES, HE CALLED ON THE 5TH DAY SAYING MY CAR WAS READY. I WENT TO PICK IT UP AND HE SAID IT STILL MIGHT HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF A SHUDDER AND THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR. HE ONLY LISTED THAT I COMPLAINED OF A SHUDDER ON THE WORK ORDER, NEVER PUT DOWN THAT ANY REPAIR PARTS WERE ORDERED OR ON BACK ORDER, AND MADE IT LOOK LIKE THERE WAS ONLY AN INSPECTION ALONG WITH AN OIL CHANGE. I DROVE MY SHUDDERING CAR HOME, PERTURBED AT THEY'RE INADEQUACY. I RECEIVED AN E-SURVEY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND I GAVE THEM THE POOR GRADE THAT WAS WARRANTED. WITHIN 30 MINUTES, SERVICE DIRECTOR HENRY CALLED SAYING HE'D HAVE THE CLUTCH IN ONLY 8 WEEKS TO APPEASE ME, BUT THAT I'D HAVE TO KEEP CALLING FOR UPDATES. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT, FEARFUL OF IT STALLING WHEN I NEED POWER CRITICALLY. FAULTY CAR THAT NEEDS RECALL AMONG MANY FOCUSES.
PURCHASED 1 MONTH AGO. AT 1000 MILES THE CAR BEGAN TO HESITATE, LURCH AND JERK. ONE TIME TRYING TO MAKE A RIGHT ON RED, I PRESSED THE GAS TO GO AND IT WENT, THEN STOPPED, AND THEN CONTINUED AS IF I HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL. MY RIGHT FOOT WAS ON THE GAS PEDAL THE WHOLE TIME. A CAR WITH 1000 MILES SHOULD NOT BE DOING THIS AT ALL.
THE CLUTCH IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS SWITCHED OUT TWICE BECAUSE OF ITS DEFECTIVE PERFORMANCE. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE FORD DISTRIBUTOR, WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND CARED FOR, THE 3RD TIME AND IT WAS SUPPOSABLY ATTENDED TO AND CORRECTED BY REBOOTING THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE CAR SHUTTERS AND DRIVES POORLY. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW TITANIUM, TOP DOLLAR, AND RECEIVED A LEMON THAT DRIVES TERRIBLY. ALSO, THE USB PLUGS DO NOT WORK. AND HAVE BEEN ATTENDED TO 3 TIMES, WITH NO AVAIL. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER, THE GENERAL MANAGER, AND MECHANIC THAT THE SPECIFIC MODEL IS DEFECTIVE. THAT THEY JUST CAN'T GET THE CLUTCH RIGHT. AND THAT IT IS A LEMON. IT IS MY RIGHT, AS A CONSUMER, WHO THOUGHT SHE WAS BUYING THE BEST OF AMERICA'S CARS, AND PAID FULL PRICE, TO BE REIMBURSED AND COMPENSATED.

I HAVE HAD THE CAR INTO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER THREE TIMES, ONCE THEY "REPROGRAMMED" THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROLLER AND ONE OF THE OTHER TIMES THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH PACK. THE THIRD TIME THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS NORMAL OPERATION. BEFORE THE CLUTCH PACK WAS REPLACED THE VEHICLE MADE SEVERE GRINDING NOSES LIKE METAL ON METAL. THIS WAS WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS IN A PARKING LOT.
TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR IN OCTOBER 2015 THE TRANSMISSION STARTED RATTLING AND WOULD HESITATE AND SHUDDER IN TRAFFIC WHEN ACCELERATING AT LOW SPEEDS. THE FORD DEALER SAID IT WAS WITHIN SPECS. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT . IN MARCH, 2016 IT FELL OUT OF GEAR WITH MY WIFE ON A TRIP TO CHARLOTTE. THE LOCAL FORD DEALER REPLACED THE TRASMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND DID OTHER WORK ON IT. IT APPEARED OK FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND THE SHAKING, SHUDDERING STARTED AGAIN, OUR LOCAL DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID, IT DROVE NORMAL. WITHIN THE LAST THREE WEEKS IT HAS DROPPED OUT OF GEAR THREE TIMES WHEN STOPPED ON A HILL AND TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO STEP ON THE GAS. THIS CAUSED IT TO ROLL BACK SLIGHTLY. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THEY CAN'T HELP ME BECAUSE IT DOESN'T QUALIFY UNDER THE LEMON LAWS. BECAUSE THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM HAS BECOME WELL KNOWN THE TRADE IN VALUE AT THE DEALER IS ONLY $9000. MY WIFE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I THINK FORD IS HESITANT TO RECALL AND REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE DRY, DUAL CLUTCH DESIGN GIVES THEM BETTER FUEL EFFICIENCY AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO COMPENSATE OWNERS FOR WORSE GAS MILEAGE. WHAT GOOD IS GAS MILEAGE IF WE DON'T TRUST THE CAR AND FEEL IT ISN'T SAFE. WE HAVE FIVE FORD VEHICLES, TWO TRUCKS, ONE WITH 305,000 MILES ON IT, A 97 COBRA, A 2007 FOCUS WITH 275,000 MILES ON IT THAT DRIVES LIKE A NEW CAR AND THE ONLY ONE WITH A SERIOUS PROBLEM IS THIS NEW 2015 FOCUS THAT NONE OF US FEEL SAFE DRIVING. APPARENTLY FORD WILL HAVE TO BE FORCED INTO CORRECTING THE PROBLEM BY NHTSA OR CIVIL SUITS. I DO NOT WANT TO SUE THEM, I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL FORD CUSTOMER AND I WANT THEM TO PERMANENTLY FIX THE TRANSMISSION.
DRIVER WAS MAKING AN UNPROTECTED LEFT TURN INTO STOPPED TRAFFIC ON A CITY STREET. AS HE WAS TURNING SOUTH (AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH) A NORTH BOUND VEHICLE STRUCK IN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE QUARTER PANEL. THE UNIFRAME WAS DAMAGE AND THE WHEEL WELL WAS PUSHED INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, DAMAGING MOST OF THE ENGINE COMPONENTS. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
WHEN YOU STEP ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL, VEHICLE HESITATES, TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT'S SLIPPING, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU MAKE A TURN. I BROUGHT THIS CONCERN UP WITH A FORD SERVICE MANAGER ON MY FIRST OIL CHANGE. THIS MANAGER ADVISED ME THEY WERE APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS BEHIND ON RECEIVING TRANSMISSION PARTS FOR THIS VEHICLE. I CALLED THIS MANAGER A FEW MORE TIMES ON THIS MATTER. ON MY NEXT OIL CHANGE, THIS MANAGER ADVISED ME THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE IS DUE FOR ITS THIRD OIL CHANGE VERY SHORTLY. MY CONCERN ON THIS PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE. THIS MAINLY OCCURS ON CITY STREETS, RED LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS, ETC. I TRADED IN MY 2013 FOCUS FOR THIS 2015 MODEL AND THE 2013 DID EXACTLY THE SAME THING. THIS SAME MANAGER ADVISED ME, FORD HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS ON THIS FOCUS MODEL. THE NAME OF THE SERVICE MANAGER AND DEALERSHIP WILL BE GIVEN AT A LATER DATE.

I WAS LEAVING A MALL PARKING LOT AND ACCELERATING WHEN THE CAR JERKED DANGEROUSLY AND STOPPED ACCELERATING CAUSING ME TO LOOSE SPEED AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER STOPPING TO GET GAS ON I-80 AT A SERVICE AREA IN INDIANA WITH THE CAR IN PARK AND NOT RUNNING THE ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CAR IS A NEW VEHICLE, STILL UNDER WARRANTY WITH ABOUT 5,000 MILES ON IT. FORD DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. THEY OFFERED NO PROOF, AND STATED THAT WE COULD NOT APPEAL THE CASE.
