AT ROUGHLY 33,000 MILES I HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT, NOW I'M ON ROUGHLY 49,000 MILES AND JUST DROPPED THE VEHICLE OFF TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT FOR A SECOND TIME SINCE I'VE OWNED THE CAR, I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN APRIL 2019 AND HOW LONG TILL THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REBUILT A 3RD TIME? I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE HAD THE CLUTCH IN THIS VEHICLE REPLACED 3 TIMES AND IT CURRENTLY HAS 37014 MILES. I HAVE HAD THE STEERING WHEEL REPLACED BECAUSE THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL DIDN'T WORK. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION MODULE REPROGRAMMED 3 TIMES. AND NOW MY BACKUP CAMERA SUDDENLY TURNS PITCH BLACK. IT'S RANDOM. I COULD JUST GO INTO REVERSE AND IT IS ALREADY PITCH BLACK. OR I COULD BE REVERSING WITH A CLEAR SCREEN AND THEN IT TURNS PITCH BLACK.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 99,434.
DURING EARLY LOCKDOWN FOR PANDEMIC I ALLOWED A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO VALET SERVICE MY CAR FOR OIL CHANGE, INSPECTION, ETC AS WELL AS A FUEL TANK RECALL 18S32. CAR WAS SHOWING NO RECALL SYMPTOMS BEFORE THE SERVICE BUT WAS RETURNED TO ME IN VERY POOR CONDITION. ENGINE SEEMS TO VAPOR LOCK AT THE MOST INOPPORTUNE TIMES WITH NO POWER TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC AND WANTS TO STALL OUT, THEN IT CATCHES ITS BREATHE AND WANTS TO TAKE OFF OUT FROM UNDER ME. I'M A 62 YR OLD WOMAN WHO TRUSTED A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND NOW I HAVE A CAR THAT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE SERVICE WRITER COULD CARE LESS AND WANTS TO CLAIM THAT I NOW NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. JUST DID A SHODDY JOB AND WANT MORE MONEY FROM ME. I'M SO DISAPPOINTED.
CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND JERK WHEN IN MOTION. SUDDENLY AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF FOR ONLY A COUPLE MINUTES IT WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON. CHANGED BATTERY IN HOPES THAT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE, CAR DID TURN ON BUT WOULD NOT REVERSE AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MPH. OROVILLE FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS THE TRANSMISSION OVER HEATED, CLUTCH SLIPPING. QUOTING ME $3,900 AT THE VERY LEAST FOR REPAIRS IN A CAR WITH JUST 70,000 MILES AND THAT I'VE BARELY HAD TWO YEARS. IF FORD KNEW OF THE ISSUES WITH ITS RIDICULOUS TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS, WHY ARE THESE CARS STILL BEING SOLD TO LOWER INCOME PEOPLE WHO CAN'T AFFORD REPAIRS? LOST POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. CODE SAID TURBO CHARGE BOOST; GAVE # TO DEALER. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER $150 TO DIAGNOSE & GET THE AME CODE AS MY MECHANIC! I HAVE BEEN CALLING TO CHECK ON A RECALL COLOR A KIT THAT BEEN RECALLED AT LEAST ON THE LAST 2 YEAR'S MODELS! THEY LOOKED AT MY CAR 1 MONTH AFTER PURCHASE IN JAN. 2019 BUT COULD FIND NO PROBLEM (CAR WAS STILL UNDER FULL WARRANTY THEN). WHEN I TOOK CAR TO DEALER TODAY, 1ST QUESTION WAS WHETHER I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY! COULD NOT FIND INFO BY GOOGLING IT! THIS SITE RECOMMENDED BY MY MECHANIC. I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT A CAR AND IT HAS BEEN STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND HAVING DIFFICULTY STARTING/REVVING ITSELF UP AFTER I FILL THE GAS TANK. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A SHOP TO GET A DIAGNOSIS AND THEY SAID THAT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE RECALL FOR THE GAS TANK. WELL, I LOOKED UP TO SEE IF MY CAR HAD ALREADY GOTTEN FIX FOR THE RECALL AND IT SAID THAT IT DID. SO IT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED AGAIN, AND I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHAT TO DO. IT HAPPENS EVERY SO OFTEN. AS THE ENGINE LIGHT ALSO COMES ON AND OFF. WHEN THE LIGHT IS OFF, THE CAR IS PERFECTLY FINE, BUT WHEN IT'S ON, IT TRIES TO STALL. *TR

THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS UNDER RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MAC HAIK FORD (10333 KATY FWY, HOUSTON, TX 7702, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V845000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, NEITHER THE YEAR, MAKE, OR MODEL VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.
SOME TIME WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THE CAR WILL NOT GO OR WILL GO AND THEN STOP ACCELERATING AND SHUTTERS. FORD HAS DONE SEVERAL REPAIR TO THE TRANSMISSION A DPS6 DUAL CLUTCH AUTOMATIC, COMPUTER FLASHES AND NEW DUAL CLUTCH. THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THE PROBLEM AFTER EACH REPAIR. *TR
I HAD A RECALL REPLACED ON 9/18/2018 FOR THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. SHORTLY AFTER IT WAS REPLACED MY CAR WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I HAD THIS PART RETESTED AND AGAIN IT DID INDEED FAIL THE TEST AND THE CLUTCH IS NOT PROPERLY WORKING. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS ISSUE TENDS TO HAPPEN ON FORDS ABOUT 45,000 MILES. IVE ALREADY HAD THIS PART REPLACED AND DONT QUALIFY UNDER THE NEW RECALL ON THE SAME PART. ANYTIME I INCREASE IN SPEED MY WHOLE FRONT END SHAKES AND JOLTS. IVE PAID ATTENTION TO HOW IT WILL DO THIS IN GEARS1-2 ONCE IT HITS JUST OVER THREE IT EVENS OUT.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
THE PURGE CANISTER VALVE HAD A SAFETY RECALL LAST YEAR, WHICH THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY PERFORMED AND MARKED THE RECALL AS COMPLETED. HOWEVER, THE PART WAS NEVER REPLACED, AND IS IN FACT DEFECTIVE. WHEN FILLING THE CAR WITH GAS, IT DOES NOT WANT TO START AND STALLS OUT MULTIPLE TIMES. WHEN IT DOES START, IT RUNS ROUGH FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES. THE DEALERSHIP IS REFUSING TO FIX THE ISSUE WITHOUT CHARGING ME, DESPITE THE FACT THEY NEVER REPLACED THE PART. THEY ALSO REFUSE TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER THAT IS A KNOWN ISSUE BECAUSE IT'S NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID THAT FORD WAS COVERING THAT ISSUE UP TO 100,000 MILES.
The upper management of Ford at the time should be ashamed of themselves for seriously damaging the reliability reputation of the Ford Focus between the model years of particularly 2012 to 2016 by introducing into the setup a dry dual clutch transmission that they did not already have a quality backup plan to just in case the complaints started piling up about the supposed manual feel of the transmission. The drive-ability of the 2016 Ford Focus SE HB I make payments on is at best a D level experience. I, too, am plagued by the regular occurrence of the shuddering between the 1st and 2nd gear along with the spiking RPMs that follow immediately after when the shuddering transpires. It seems almost as if the 2nd gear is coming in on the 1st a little too soon, which would factor in an obvious failed effort on transmission calibration. In general, the shifting performance is unnerving and quite embarrassing when you have passengers. If you are like me and have one of these vehicles with this transmission type, good luck on getting a true fix in this Power-Shift setup. It is possible to improve the driving conditions with third party tuning if your strategy will pair with the tuning device (another issue of discussion for Ford); otherwise, one needs a complete, conventional transmission installed in hopes of getting rid of this issue in its entirety if an automatic transmission is your preferred preference. In summary, the Ford Focus SE I have is the 2.0. liter, and it appears that Ford has discreetly excluded this liter from the recall, warranty work in general. In other words, you will likely have an incredible hard time getting a Ford dealership to acknowledge the problem or replace your clutches unless you pay for it. To fully remedy this situation, Ford should be required to buyback all of these poorly calibrated transmission cars from current owners and those still for sale on the American market.
MOTOR MOUNT & TRANSMISSION. WHEN CRANKING CAR THE RPM VERVES TO 300-400 RPMS AND STAYS UNTIL YOU PICK THE ACCELERATOR. WHEN ACCELERATING THE GAS THE CAR JERKS BEFORE TAKING OFF TO CHANGE GEARS.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A SPIN OUT DUE TO RAINY WEATHER ON MONDAY APRIL 6TH, 2020. THE CAR ENDED UP HITTING THE CONCRETE DIVIDER IN THE CENTER OF THE FREEWAY IN ACCESS OF 55 MPH AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE HAD FRONTAL/ SIDE IMPACTS. I WAS UNHARMED IN THE EVENT, BUT IT IS CONCERNING TO ME, AS MY CAR WAS TOTALED AND THE FRAME WARPED AROUND THE ENGINE.
I HAVE A 2016 FORD FOCUS. 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE I TOOK IT TO SERVICE FOR SHAKING ON ACCELERATING AND DEACCELERATING. I WAS TOLD BROKEN SWAY BAR LINKS. AFTER THEY WERE REPLACED I BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN. I WAS TOLD IT'S NORMAL FOR THE POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION AND I WAS NOT USED TO IT. IN MARCH 2019 MY TRANSMISSION DROPPED INTO NEUTRAL AND A TRANSMISSION FAILURE MESSAGE WAS SHOWN. I TOOK MY CAR TO SERVICE. THEY REPLACED SENSOR AND I WENT TO GET IT. IT FAILED IN 5 FEET. TOOK IT BACK AND THEY REPLACED A SECOND SENSOR. IT FAILED BEFORE I ARRIVED HOME. THIS HAS GONE BACK AND FORTH 8 TIMES. BECAUSE MY STAYING HOME WITH COVID I ONLY PUT 700 MILES ON MY CAR BETWEEN APRIL AND NOVEMBER. THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR SINCE THEN EXCEPT ONE DAY. I GOT 10 MINUTES FROM HOME THAT NIGHT AND RETURNED IT THE NEXT DAY. THEY ARE STAYING THAT IT'S UNRELATED TO THE KNOWN ISSUES WITH POWERSHIFT. BUT IT'S NEVER BEEN FIXED. THEY'VE REPLACED ALL 3 SENSORS TWICE. AND NOW THERE'S WATER IN MY TRANSMISSION FLUID. ONCE BEFORE I MADE IT HOME AND AGAIN THE DAY I RETURNED IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT WAS BECAUSE I HAD LEAVES UNDER MY WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES THAT DIVERTED WATER FROM THE WINDSHIELD INTO THE TRANSMISSION. ALSO I SAW IN AN ARTICLE THAT IT WAS STATED BY A NHTSA SPOKESPERSON THAT FORD WAS FIXING THESE ISSUES AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. I'VE BEEN TOLD I HAVE THE WRONG TRANSMISSION. BUT I HAVE A DSP6 POWERSHIFT. THE SERVICE CENTER REFERS ME TO THE CUSTOMER CARE. CUSTOMER CARES STATES THAT THEY ONLY TAKE INFORMATION AND CAN'T HELP OR GIVE INFORMATION. THEY DIRECTED ME TO THE LAWSUIT HOTLINE. THEY DON'T HANDLE WARRANTY. FORD GIVES YOU NO WAY TO SPEAK TO ANYONE THAT CAN EXPLAIN WHY MY CAR IS NOT EXTENDED. THEY REFUSE TO LOOK FOR THE SOURCE OF THE WATER AND HAVE REPLACED SENSORS REPEATEDLY ALTHOUGH THAT HASN'T WORKED YET. MY WARRANTY ENDS SOON AND THEY SAID IF THEY CAN'T FIX IT BY THEN I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR COST
IT RAINED, AND CAR STOPPED. NO MOTIVE POWER. A RED WARNING, "STOP SAFELY NOW" MESSAGE ON DASH. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 20-2004 TO PUT ON A SPLASH SHIELD TO KEEP THE 318VOLT (HIGH!) CONNECTOR FROM BEING HIT BY WATER, BUT THE DEALERSHIP JUST PUT ON A BIG 350 AMP FUSE AND PUT THE CAR BACK IN SERVICE. THE FUSE BLEW DUE TO WATER INTRUSION. TREATED A SIDE EFFECT, NOT THE MAIN PROBLEM. THEY REFUSED TO DO WHAT WAS IN TSB 20-2004 & FSA 16B02. THE ATTACHED PICTURE SHOWS HOW CLOSE THE TIRE IS TO THE HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY CONNECTOR! FORD KNOWS THIS, BUT NO RECALL, AND DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX.

FAULTY TRANSMISSION CAUSES CAR TO SHAKE OR JERK WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. FORD HAS RESET COMPUTER 3 TIMES NOW AND THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES. VEHICLE ALSO ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP. FORD WILL DO NOTHING BUT COMPLETE A COMPUTER REST TO FIX THE ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AFTER CAR WARMS UP LACK OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING

The contact owns 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle started shuddering and hesitated to respond for approximately 4-5 seconds. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving from a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 14,200.
I HAD MY TRANSMISSION FIXED FOR THE RECALL IN JUNE 2018 & NOW IT IS DOING THE SAME THING CLUTCH SLIPPING. TOOK IT BACK & THEY TOLD ME I WAS OUT OF LUCK IT WAS ALREADY FIXED FOR THE RECALL. IF THEY WERE GOING TO JUST PUT SOMETHING IN TO LAST A YEAR THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME.
BACK IN MARCH 2020 I BEGIN TO HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES SO I TOOK MY CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WITH THAT BEING SAID THE MECHANIC PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THEY HAD TO REBUILD A CLUTCH IN MY TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE COST OF THE FIX WAS GOING TO BE $2600 I BEGAN TO TELL THE MECHANIC THAT I DID NOT HAVE THAT TYPE OF MONEY AND THAT I WILL COME GET MY VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY BECAUSE I WAS AT WORK SO THE NEXT DAY WHILE I WAS AT WORK I GET A PHONE CALL FROM THE MECHANIC AT THAT FORD DEALERSHIP AND HE TELLS ME THAT MY CAR IS READY TO BE PICKED UP AND THAT THE ISSUE WAS FIXED I BEGAN TO REPEAT MYSELF TO THE MECHANIC THAT I DID NOT WANT TO PROCEED WITH THE SIX OF MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY I ALSO STRESS THIS AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD TO LEAVE MY CAR FOR THREE WEEKS AT THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY AND HAD TO STRUGGLE TO FIND THE MONEY TO GET MY VEHICLE BACK BECAUSE THE FIX WAS ALREADY DONE AND AFTER I CAME UP WITH THE MONEY TO DAYS LATER I STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION FAULT ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE SO IS THERE ANYWAY FOR IT CAN REIMBURSE ME BACK MY MONEY OR FIX MY CAR FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE I WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.

MY CAR LOOSES POWER THE RPM GAUGE WILL GO TO THE RED AND DROP BACK DOWN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE IN MOTION LIKE ITS IN NEUTRAL THEN THE CAR BEGINS TO SLOW DOWN AND WHEN THE RPM GAUGE DROPS IT DRIVES NORMAL. I WAS ON A HIGHWAY.
HAS RECALL FOR FUEL PUMP DEFORMATION. AND ALSO TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE SOON LIGHT. SHIFTS WEIRDLY AND WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS AND BRAKES ABRUPTLY.
THE ELECTRONIC STEERING RACK HAS LOCKED UP AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN WITH OUT FORCING THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAPPENED LUCKILY AS WE MADE A SHARP TURN INTO A PARKING SPOT AND NOT DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.
VEHICLE CONTINUES TO SHUTTER WHEN TAKING OFF OR TURNING CORNERS. VEHICLE AT TIMES WON'T GO INTO REVERSE OR IT SLIPS WHEN PUTTING IT INTO DRIVE. THIS WILL BE THE 3RD TRANSMISSION REPAIR SINCE 2017. FORD KEEPS SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND THAT IT'S NORMAL SHUTTER. IT'S NOT NORMAL AT ALL. I FEAR DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A 3 YEAR OLD AND 7 YEAR OLD CHILD. THIS VEHICLE HAS PUT ME IN SOME DANGEROUS SITUATIONS DUE TO THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY PERIOD WAS EXCEEDED AND OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,706.
SAME ISSUE WITH FUEL TANK DEFORMATION. OCTOBER 2018 WAS THE RECALL. ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO GREENWAY FORD HAD THE CAR FOR THE WHOLE DAY AND STATED THEY FIXED IT BUT NOW I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THE RECALL FIXING WAS INCOMPLETE AND THE RECALL STATES IT IS INCREASED RISK FOR A CRASH DUE TO STALLING OF THE ENGINE. MY 2016 FORD FOCUS SE GIVES ME GREAT CONCERN WHEN DRIVING AS THE TRANSMISSION CONSISTENTLY SKIPS/JERKS WHILE ACCELERATING. THERE WERE 2 SEPARATE INSTANCES WHERE I HAVE DRIVEN ON THE FREEWAY AND MY CAR HAS SKIPPED GEARS, CAUSING CHANGE OF SPEEDS AND NEARLY HAD 2 ACCIDENTS ON THE FREEWAY. MY MOST RECENT ONE WAS RIGHT BEFORE I DECIDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I HAVE BEEN TO THE FORD SERVICE CENTER RIGHT BEFORE MY WARRANTY CLOSED AND REQUESTED THEY FIX, HOWEVER WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND IT OPERATES PROPERLY.

TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC WHO RAN DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND CODE P1450 STATING UNABLE TO BLEED UP FUEL TANK VACUUM WHICH IS RELATED TO PCM MEMORY. STATED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. WAS TOLD PCM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED TO LATEST CALIBRATION USING IDS RELEASE 99.05 OR HIGHER. WE FEEL THAT THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD REQUIRE A FIX BY FORD

FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS, MY TRANSMISSION IN MY 2016 FORD FOCUS HAS STALLED UPON NEARLY ALL ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. ON JANUARY, 17 2020 I RETURNED TO MY CAR FROM THE LIBRARY IN IRVINE, CA TO DISCOVER THAT UPON TURNING THE IGNITION, THE CAR DID NOT START. I TRIED A COUPLE MORE TIMES AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WENT ON ONE TIME AND STOPPED, THE LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD LIT UP, THE MEDIA SCREEN LIT UP AND THE INTERIOR CAR LIGHTS CAME ON. I CALLED AAA, MY INSURANCE CARRIER, DESPITE IT NOT APPEARING TO BE A BATTERY ISSUE. THE REPRESENTATIVE STAYED ON THE PHONE WITH ME AFTER I EXPLAINED THE ISSUE AND TRIED TO SCHEDULE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. I TRIED THE IGNITION ONE MORE TIME AND THE CAR STARTED. A NOTIFICATION ON THE DASH SCREEN APPEARED READING "TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED" AND REMAINED ON THE SCREEN FOR A SECOND BEFORE DISAPPEARING. USUALLY IF A DASH NOTIFICATION APPEARS, THE SMALL ICON LIGHT WILL REMAIN LIT WHILE I OPERATE THE VEHICLE, THIS ICON LIGHT DID NOT REMAIN ON. MY INSURANCE REPRESENTATIVE EXPLAINED THAT AN ISSUE WITH A TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED A TOW AND IT MAY BE UNSAFE TO OPERATE MY VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. I SAT IN MY CAR FOR A MINUTE AND NOTICED MY AVERAGE MPG HAD CHANGED FROM 33.3 TO 0.0. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AS I NEEDED TO LEAVE THE LOCATION TO TEND TO OTHER PARTS OF MY DAY. I ARRIVED SAFELY TO MY DESTINATION. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE EXACT SAME SITUATION OCCURRED WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START MY CAR AND LEAVE FOR THE DAY. TURNING THE IGNITION SEVERAL TIMES DID NOT WORK, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON ONCE, THE TRANSMISSION NOTICE APPEARED AND DISAPPEARED AND THE AVERAGE MPG WAS AT 0.0 AGAIN. THIS TIME, THE CAR NOTIFIED MY THAT I HAD 0 MILES UNTIL EMPTY, DESPITE THE GAS TANK CONTAINING WELL OVER A QUARTER FILL. THE GAS NOTIFICATION DISAPPEARED AND THE MILES TO EMPTY SECTION CHANGED BACK TO 175 MILES UNTIL EMPTY. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MY VEHICLE SINCE THIS OCCURRED
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ACTS LIKE IT'S NOT GETTING ANY GAS IT STALLED ON ME COULDN'T START IT , HAD TO PUSH TO A SAFE PLACE NOW ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. I TOOK AND GOT IT CHECKED WAS TOLD IT'S A VAPOR LOCK. I SEE THERE'S A RECALL FOR FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE BUT NOT ON MINE I AM UNABLE TO HAVE MINE REPAIRED DO TO FINANCES. WHY RECALLS ON SOME FOCUS AND NOT ALL.
EARLIER IN JANUARY, I WAS DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 70 FROM KANSAS CITY TO ST. LOUIS AT THE RATE OF 77 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR DINGS AND SENDS A MESSAGE ON THE DASH "ENGINE FAILURE" AND THE CAR LITERALLY SHUTS DOWN. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR, NO LIGHTS, NO BRAKES, NOTHING! LUCKILY I GOT TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD SAFELY AND FINALLY CAME TO A STOP. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED THE KEY OFF. STILL NOTHING... I WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THEN TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND THANKFULLY IT STARTED. I DROVE IT TO THE NEAREST PLACE TO HAVE THEM RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND NOTHING CAME UP. FINALLY GOT IT HOME. IT'S NOT DONE THIS AGAIN, BUT NOW IT RUNS ROUGH. LIKE REALLY ROUGH. I'VE HAD THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH FIXED ONCE ALREADY. LUCKILY IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I WILL BE CONTACTING MY LOCAL FORD DEALER ABOUT THIS ISSUE. WAS UNAWARE IT WAS UNDER RECALL.
FORD FOCUS PURCHASED NEW FOR OUR DAUGHTER IN 2016. WE ALL NOTICED A STUTTER OR JERKING MOTION UPON ACCELERATION AND ODD FEELING WHEN IT SHIFTED GEARS. . THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS. THIS CARS IS ESSENTIALLY ALL MY DAUGHTERS. I ADVISED HER AS WELL AS CALLING MYSELF TO THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED IT FROM BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO TAKE IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE OR TIRE ROTATION. SHE ADVISED THEM OF THE ISSUE MANY TIMES,NO EVERY TIME SHE TOOK IT UP THERE. SHE WAS ALWAYS TOLD IT WAS "NORMAL" AND NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. SO WE TRUSTED THEM THAT FOR SOME ODD REASON THIS IS NORMAL. JAN 2020. SHE WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER VERY BADLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT BEGAN TO STOP IN THE ROAD LIKE SHE WAS BREAKING . SHE DESCRIBED IT AS THE CAR WAS JUST BREAKING ON ITS OWN TYPE FEELING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD. SHE BROUGHT IT SLOWLY TO THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT AWAY AS IT WAS NOT DRIVABLE.APPARENTLY IT IS AN TRANSMISSION ISSUE. A WELL KNOWN ONE! I WILL PROVIDE THE SERVICE RECORD IN THIS FOR YOU TO SEE WHAT WAS REPLACED THE NUMBERS AND CODES ETC . IT WAS AT THE SHOP JAN 10-13TH . WELL THEY DID REPLACE SOME PARTS IT WAS STILL DOING THE JERKING STUTTER WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER THE REPAIRS. AGAIN SHE ASSUMED THAT WAS NORMAL BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MANY TIMES AND WE THOUGHT MAYBE THE ACTUAL PROBLEM SHE HAD WAS FIXED. IT WAS NOT. THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE WILL NEVER BE FIXED FROM WHAT I AM LEARNING TODAY IN REGARDS TO THIS 2016 FOCUS IN THE NEWS . I AM REACHING OUT FOR SOMEONE TO LISTEN TO ALL OF US. IT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE THAT SO MANY OF US CAN NOT SEEM TO GET OUR VEHICLES FIXED AT LEAST IF THEY CAN NOT FIX THEM TAKE THEM BACK! I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS SUCH A HUGE ONGOING PROBLEM WITH ESSENTIALLY DEFECTIVE VEHICLES.. FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. WE WILL TAKE THE CAR IN AGAIN NEXT WEEK FOR THEM TO TELL US ITS "NORMAL". SEAT ALSO HAS STOPPED ADJUSTING.
