MY 2017 FORD FOCUS TRANSMISSION WENT OUT.
ENGINE LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING AND SHUT DOWN
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK AS I PULLED OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD MY RPMS BEGAN BEGAN DO RAPIDLY BOUNCE BETWEEN 0-6 AND THE GAS PEDAL DIDN'T RESPOND TO ANYTHING LIKE THE ENGINE WAS NOT RECEIVING ENOUGH FUEL. I STOPPED THE CAR, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, PUT IN PARK AND THE ENGINE RETURNED TO A NORMAL IDLE. I BEGAN TO CONTINUE DRIVING TO TURN AROUND COME BACK HOME WORRIED ABOUT THIS ISSUE. ABOUT A HALF MILE LATER THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR WOULD CRANK WITH NO START. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AT BEACH FORD IN VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. AFTER THEIR TESTING I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE (FPDM) NEEDS REPLACED AND THAT THE PART IS BACKORDERED WITH AN ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE 2 WEEKS OUT. THE CAR ONLY HAS 23,500 MILES ON IT. THERE'S NO RECALL AT THIS TIME FOR FORD FOCUS STALLING ISSUE WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR A VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE TRAVELING DOWN A ROAD/HIGHWAY. THAT FACT DISGUSTS ME BECAUSE IT IS A KNOWN AND REOCCURRING PROBLEM AND NOTHING HAS CAME OF IT. I ALSO FIND IT INTERESTING THAT PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES HERE WERE RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE DIFFERENT PARTS. I'M CURIOUS TO SEE IF THIS FPDM WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING. WHILE RECEIVING AN OIL CHANGE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NOURSE CHILLICOTHE AUTOMALL (423 N BRIDGE ST, CHILLICOTHE, OH 45601, (888) 691-6167) AND THE CLUTCH KIT WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
II TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I RECEIVED MY RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I WAS THEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX IT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE RECALL PART HAS NOT START TO GO OUT YET .SO NOW THE CAR RECALL PROBLEM IS CAUSING PROBLEMS NOW. SO I TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY WAS NOT GOING FIX IT BECAUSE THE RECALL HAD EXPIRED NOW. MIND YOU THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION AND I AM A SINGLE MOTHER WITH A PRECIOUS 5YR. DAUGHTER THAT I HAVE TRANSPORT IN THIS CAR. SO CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY CAR I DO NOT WANT TO BROKE DOWN ON THE DANGEROUS HIGHWAYS AND ROADWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THIS CAR. HELP HELP HELP PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!!!! I WAS AT THE GAS STATION GETTING GAS AND THE CAR CUT OFF. AND THE RECALL HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL TANK DEFORMATION. I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, HIS MANAGER AND THE GM MANAGER AT FORD. THEY TOLD IT WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. AND I TO FIX IT MY SELF.
MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON A CITY STREET AROUND 7:30 AM ON MY WAY TO WORK AND WHEN I GOT HOME MY HUSBAND CHECK THE CODE WAS P144A FOR A EVAP PURGE VALVE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH A RECALL JUST NOT FOR MY VEHICLE.
THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM A STOP. WHEN STARTING THE TURN, IT MOVES FORWARD THEN THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES AND THE CAR ROLLS FORWARD WITH THE ENGINE STILL RUNNING. WE HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK, PUT THE WHEELS STRAIGHT, SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTART IT....IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC!!. IT HAS DONE THIS 4 TIMES SINCE WE GOT THE CAR. WHEN WE BROUGHT THE CAR IN (TWICE) FOR ANOTHER RELATED TRANSMISSION PROBLEM (DRY CLUTCH) WE INFORMED THE SERVICE ADVISORS AND THIER TECHS COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE OR OFFER ANY IDEA AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENS. THE CAR ALSO HAS A JERKING MOTION WHEN ACCELERATING. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN TWICE FOR THE THIS SAME REPAIR, CLUTCH REPLACEMENT ON AN AUTOMATIC, WITHIN 1 YEAR. FORD HAS ONLY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM ONLY UP TO THE 2016 MODEL YEAR EVEN THOUGH THE 2017 MODEL HAS THE SAME TRANSMISSION AND PROBLEM AS PREVIOUS YEARS.
THE BACK UP CAMERA STOPED WORKING. WHEN YOU BACK UP
TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SUDDENLY DROPPING RPMS, IT CAN DO THIS AT ANYTIME. THEY REPORTED IT IS THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE.
THE TRANSMISSION IS SHUTTERING ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS IN ALL ROAD CONDITIONS.
CAR TRANSMISSION SHUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOP, DEALER SAYS ITS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.
ONE TIRE WAS INSTALLED AND IT IS CONSTANTLY LEAKING AIR.
THERE IS 2,800 DOLLARS WORTH OF WORK I'VE TAKEN IT IN TWICE FOR THE SAME THING IT COMES OUT WORSE EVERYTIME IT WAS BUILT IN DECEMBER 2016 IT LEAVES ME SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD THEN DRIVES FINE IT'S CRAZY I NEED HELP IT HAS DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION
THERE IS ONLY A LITTLE MORE THAN 90,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACING. DEALERSHIP SAID THE INTERNAL GEARS WERE GRINDING DOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE OIL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE BUT FOUND NO ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED PERRY FORD OF POWAY (12740 POWAY RD, POWAY, CA 92064, (858) 748-1400) AND SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE WHO ATTEMPTED TO ASSIST WITH THE WARNING LIGHT FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESET THE WARNING LIGHT AND ATTEMPTED TO RESUME NORMAL DRIVING HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.*DT MECHANIC TOLD THE CONSUMER THERE WERE ISSSUES WITH TIMING/OIL PUMP BELT (LOCATED INSIDE THE ENGINE) BROKE/SHRED. OIL PRESSURE DROPPED AND PIECES OF BELT CLOGGED OIL PUMP AND ALSO CIRCULATED THROUGH THE ENGINE. ENGINE NEEDS REPLACEMENT. ESTIMATED COST: $7100. *JB
THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE DOOR NO LONGER CLOSES. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE CAR, IT JUST STOPPED LATCHING. THE DOOR BOUNCES BACK INSTEAD OF CLOSING. CAR WAS UNLOCKED, OFF, AND PARKED AT HOME. *TR
I WAS COMING OFF FREEWAY AND GETTING ONTO ANOTHER FREEWAY WHEN, AS I WAS SPEEDING UP TO MERGE, MY CAR BOGGED DOWN AS IF RUNNING OUT OF GAS. I LOOKED AT THE DASH AND SAW MY OIL LIGHT HAD COME ON. SO I PULLED OVER TO AN EXIT WITHIN 30 YDS. AND PULLED ONTO A STREET ABOUT ANOTHER 30 YDS. AWAY. I SHUT OFF THE CAR AND LET IT SIT A FEW MINUTES THEN CHECKED OIL. WHEN I DID, THE OIL SHOWED FULL. I THEN CALLED THE FORD DEALER I TAKE MY CAR TO FOR OIL CHANGES AND SPOKE WITH A SERVICE GUY AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED. HE WAS PUZZLED AND ASKED A FEW QUESTIONS AND THEN WE TRIED TO RESET THE OIL LIGHT. AFTER DOING THE RESET THE OIL LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I TRIED STARTING THE CAR AND IT STARTED FINE. NO ABNORMAL SOUNDS COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND IT IDLED FINE. I DECIDED TO TRY THE FREEWAY AGAIN TO SEE IF THE OIL LIGHT WAS A FLUKE. THE NEXT EXIT WAS ONLY A HALF MILE AWAY SO I COULD EASILY GET OFF FREEWAY IF NECESSARY. AGAIN, THE FREEWAY WAS ONLY ABOUT 30 YDS AWAY SO WHEN I STARTED TO MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THE CAR ACCELERATED SLOWLY AND THEN BOGGED DOWN AND THE DASH FLASHED THE ENGINE NEEDED ATTENTION OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. AGAIN I GOT OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT, WHICH WAS RIGHT THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER NEAR WHERE I LIVE. SERVICE WAS CLOSED BUT SOME SALES PEOPLE WERE STILL THERE AND THEY TOLD US WHERE TO PUT THE CAR. THEY DIDN'T LOOK AT THE CAR UNTIL MONDAY AND EVEN THEN THEY DIDN'T REALLY OPEN THE CAR UP AND LOOK AT IT. THE TECHNICIAN SAID PROBABLY THE TIMING/OIL PUMP BELT BROKE OR SHREDDED AND CLOGGED UP THE OIL PUMP. TO OPEN UP THE ENGINE WOULD COST $800 TO FIND OUT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM AND IF THE TECH WAS RIGHT THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED COSTING $7400. ALL THIS BECAUSE OF A FAULTY BELT DESIGNED TO LAST 125,000-150,000 MILES. LUCKILY I WASN'T DRIVING 65MPH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY AND BREAKING DOWN AND GETTING SLAMMED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, THE STEERING LOCKED UP AS IF THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. AFTER SAFELY STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE A NOTICE CAME UP INDICATING 'STEERING ASSIST FAULT - SERVICE REQUIRED'. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS STARTED EXCESSIVELY SHAKING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY JUST ABOUT 56K MILES. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO A 3 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. *TR
WHILE COMING DOWN A HILL MY VEHICLE'S ENGINE BEGAN TO BIG DOWN AS IF TO STALL. MY ENGINE OIL LIGHT CAME ON, I PULLED INTO A LOCAL OIL SERVICE STATION TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE OIL, (PREVIOUS SERVICE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH PRIOR AND IT HAD ONLY BEEN APPROXIMATELY 1200 MILES SINCE LAST SERVICE). THEY SAID THAT THE OIL WAS FINE BUT I HAD THEM CHANGE THE OIL AGAIN JUST TO BE SURE. THE OIL LIGHT REFUSED TO GO OUT. I THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE VEHICLE BECAME UNSAFE AND COULD NOT BE DRIVE ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE STATION. AFTER A WEEK AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE WAS NO LONGER HOLDING OIL PRESSURE AND THAT VARIOUS COMPONENTS INSIDE THE ENGINE HAD NOW STARTED THROWING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMANT ME IT WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $7700 TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, AS THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE IS IN A STATE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TOWED FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY AT 71457 MILES... THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS 11450 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. VEHICLE WAS REGULARLY SERVICED. I HAVE READ VARIOUS OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WHICH HAS LEAD TO THE VEHICLES BECOMING UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND ULTIMATELY UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN.
CAR HAS 71000 MILES AND JUNE 3RD 2020, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND WAS HARD TO TURN (LIKE POWER STEERING WITH NO FLUID), TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR 30 SECONDS AND BACK ON AND IT WORKED FINE. STOPPED FOR FOOD AND TURNED CAR BACK ON AND A WARNING CAME UP "STEERING ASSIST FAULT". TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THERE'S NO LOOSE WIRES OR BAD FUSE. WILL REQUIRE TO HAVE THE STEERING MOTOR REPLACED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS PUSHED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET. THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN NEUTRAL AND PUSHED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME CLOSELY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY ARRANGED A TOW TO THE DEALER (UPTOWN FORD LINCOLN 2111 N MAYFAIR RD, MILWAUKEE, WI 53226 (414) 771-9000) BUT THEY REFUSED TO DO THE REPAIR THAT HAD TO DO WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAD A MINOR CRASH SIX MONTHS EARLIER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CRASH WAS THE CONTACT'S FAULT AND THE REASON THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE MALFUNCTIONED. THE MANUFACTURER CALLED BACK TO DENY THE CONTACT'S CLAIM. THE MANUFACTURER RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO STATED SAME AS THE FIRST DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE UPPER MANAGEMENT OF THE SECOND DEALER DENIED TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER FINALLY SENT AN EMAIL DENYING THE CONTACT'S CLAIM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
EVERY 6 MONTHS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FOR EXAMPLE IT BEEN ON SINCE 5/11/2020 EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN CRACK UP IT SHAKES AND CUTS OFF YOU HAVE TO RAISE THE MOTOR THE OBD READS BANK TOO LEAN 2 & 1. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR SPUTTERS WHILE ACCELERATING SOMETIMES THE ENGINE BOGS ALL THE WAY DOWN WHICH MAY CAUSE A REAR END COLLISION DUE TO THE ENGINE NOT BEING ABLE TO PRODUCE POWER DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION SPUTTERING. I BOUGHT THE CAR BACK IN 2017 BRAND NEW IN THE STATE OF MISSOURI AND A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER I GOT THE CAR I STARTED SEEING THOSE PROBLEMS I SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AT THIS TIME BECAUSE THERE IS NO PENDING RECALLS ON MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE RELATED TO MY DRIVETRAIN. I'VE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 3 YEARS AND IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 28000 MILES ON IT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS A MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY ON IT BUT I DON'T WANT TO BOTHER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TO GET THE RUNAROUND HOW ABOUT WHAT IS POSSIBLY WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. *TR
VACUUM LINE W/SENSOR IS NOT LETTING GAS GET TO THE MOTOR PROPERLY CAUSING IT TO CUT OFF OR REV INTENSELY. RECALL WAS DONE WITH OUT ANY REPLACEMENT OF NEW PARTS.
MY CAR DROPS INTO NEUTRAL BETWEEN GEARS WHEN CHANGING GEARS AS I AM DRIVING, LEADING TO A LACK OF ACCELERATION. AT TIMES CAR LURCHES FORWARD AND SHIFTS JERKILY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN STARTING TO PULL OFF FROM A RED LIGHT AND IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH. *TR
THE CAR WAS SERVICED FULLY, IT PERFORMS PERFECT AS IT SHOULD WHENEVER THE ENGINE IS COLD HOWEVER ONCE IT HEATS UP THE VEHICLE WILL SHUDDER IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR FROM A DEAD STOP, I HAVE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE FORD DEALERSHIP, HOWEVER THEY SAID IT'S A NEW AND IMPROVED TRANSMISSION HOWEVER I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH AND THE TRANSMISSION EQUIPPED TO MY CAR IS THE SAME TRANSMISSION USED IN PREVIOUS MODELS OF THE FORD FOCUS WITH THE SAME FAULTS AND ISSUES AS THE PREVIOUS MODELS THAT WERE RECALLED AND HAD A LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST FORD FOR SELLING FAULTY VEHICLES.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Focus. The contact stated while stopped at a traffic light, the light turned green and the contact depressed the accelerator however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle revved but failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle started moving forward at a slow speed and was shuddering. The contact stated that she returned to her residence and turned off and restarted the vehicle, however the failure persisted. The contact stated that she also experienced a failure in attempting to shift the vehicle into reverse(R). The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that the failure reoccurred, and she had the clutch replaced two more times by the dealer. The contact stated that the dealer had replaced the Transmission Control Module due to the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V845000 (Power Train). The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

THE TRANSMISSION IN MY CAR IS SLIPPING. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW OFF THE LOT, I WAS TOLD THE JERKING IN THE CAR WAS NORMAL FOR THE TYPE IT IS. IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WOULD ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE VEHICLE 15-20 TIMES AND THEN ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO REV FOR 2-3 MINUTES BEFORE THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD EXCESSIVE VACUUM PRESSURE. THE FUEL TANK NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V845000 (POWER TRAIN) AND 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. MY 2017 FORD FOCUS IS SLIPPING INTO NEUTRAL AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, HESITATING TO FIND THE RIGHT GEAR, JOLTING FORWARD WILL DRIVING AND AT A STOP, LOSING POWER DUE TO SLIPPING INTO NEUTRAL, AND REVS UP TO SIX THOUSAND R.P.M.'S WHILE TRYING TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOP. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN ORDER FOR MY WIFE TO TRANSPORT THE KIDS TO AND FROM SCHOOL.
I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN WHEN THE CAR DIDN'T WANT TO GO FORWARD, THE RPMS JUST IDLED AS THE ENGINE REVVED BUT I COULDN'T DRIVE FORWARD, THEN THE VEHICLE LUNGES FORWARD, AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. AFTER IT JUMPED FORWARD IT BEGAN MAKING A TERRIBLE GRINDING NOISE AND LOST CONTROL, ALMOST DRIVING STRAIGHT INTO ANOTHER CAR. I THEN PROCEEDED TO PULL OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR, THEN IT MADE THESE LOUD CLICKING NOISES AND THE EMERGENCY TRANSMISSION LIGHT FLASHED RED AND SAID 'TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING, STOP AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE.' I LEFT THE CAR SIT FOR 2 AM HOUR, THEN WENT TO TURN IT ON AND IT WOULD NOT START. IT ONLY MADE THE TICKING NOISE AGAIN. AFTER TRYING TO START IT 3 TIMES, IT FINALLY TURNED ON, BUT CONTINUED TO GET STUCK AS THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN DRIVE. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT AS I LEFT MY HOUSE AND GOT ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS ON THE INCLINED ON-RAMP EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN DRIVE. ONCOMING TRAFFIC SWERVED AROUND MY IMMOBILE CAR AS I PANICKED AND FLOORED THE GAS PETAL. IT FINALLY LUNGED FORWARD, SECONDS BEFORE A SEMI CAME BARRELING THROUGH THE LANE. I GOT IT TO THE DEALER AS IT FLASHED THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING LIGHT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AS WELL EACH TIME. THE CAR HAD ALREADY BEEN SERVICED 4 TIMES PRIOR TO THIS, FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND MULTIPLE RECALLS. EACH TIME I TOOK IT TO GET SERVICED, IT GOT WORSE. WHEN I FINALLY PICKED IT UP, I COULDN'T EVEN GET IT HOME BECAUSE IT BROKE DOWN HALF A MILE AWAY. THE DEALERSHIPS SERVICE DEPARTMENT REFUSED TO DO ANY REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEARLY KILLED ME. THEY PRINTED ME THE PAPERS STATING THE CLUTCH, ACTUATORS A & B, THE T/O BEARING, AND ANOTHER PART NEED TO BE REPLACED AND IT WILL COST ME $1800. IN OTHER WORDS, I HAVE TO PAY THEM JUST SO I DON'T DIE IN FORDS FAULTY CAR

Had car engine light check and they indicated a purge valve issue. They informed ne about the ford recall has on certain ford focus. Will be taking vehicle to get service at dealership.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR AN INVESTIGATOR TO LOOK INTO THE ACCIDENT. I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS INJURED ON FEB. 1, 2020. I WAS DRIVING ON STRAIGHT AWAY WHEN AND AN SUV TURNED IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE AT HIGH SPEED. MY FORD FOCUS STRUCK THE SUV DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND MY FORD FOCUS RIGHT SIDE BUMPER GOT STUCK UNDER THE SUV DRIVER SIDE DOOR. MY AIRBAGS IN MY FORD FOCUS DID NOT DEPLOY, BUT THE SUV AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY.

SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE I NOTICED THE CLUTCH SLIPPING WHILE DRIVING. THIS INCLUDES SLIPPING INTO NEUTRAL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AS WELL AS SLIPPING WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE, LEAVING ME WITH NO POWER. THE SHIFTS, ESPECIALLY 1ST TO SECOND ARE VERY VIOLENT AND ROUGH. WHILE SHIFTING THE WHOLE CAR SHAKES AGGRESSIVELY WHILE ALSO BEING PAIRED WITH A SHUDDERING AND GRINDING NOISE. FORD WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS PROBLEM AT 49,195 MILES ON NOVEMBER 19TH 2019. FORD TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT RECREATE MY COMPLAINT. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT "THIS IS HOW THIS CAR DRIVES". I BELIEVE I WAS TOLD THIS AS A DETERRENT FROM MAKING FUTURE COMPLAINTS. TWO THOUSAND MILES LATER I WENT BACK TO FORD AFTER MY CAR WAS NOT DRIVING IN REVERSE. FORD CHOSE TO RELEARN THE CLUTCH HOWEVER THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION ITSELF AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH, NO FURTHER REPAIRS WERE MADE. I WAS THEN TOLD AGAIN THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. WE ALSO MADE 2 REPORTS TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTIFYING FORD OF THIS PROBLEM AS I WAS STILL UNDER MY WARRANTY. NOW 9 THOUSAND MILES OUT OF WARRANTY (69,000) FORD IS TELLING ME THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THEY ARE REQUIRING A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF 1200 DOLLARS TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AND SEE WHAT NEEDS REPAIRS AT MY EXPENSE. I BELIEVE FORD IS ONLY ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM WITH THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE NOW THAT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY.
