TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS HOT. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AS NEEDED AND WAS TOWED TO APPLE FORD LINCOLN APPLE VALLEY (7200 150TH ST W, APPLE VALLEY, MN 55124) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED THREE TIMES HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. A CASE NUMBER WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 166,500.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS STUTTERING UPON ACCELERATION, SOMETIMES IDLES BELOW 1000 RPM WHEN STATIONARY, AND SHIFTS ROUGH WHEN DRIVING. PRETTY MUCH THE SAME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS THAT THE OLDER MODELS WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION HAD.
THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM FULLY STOPPED, SUCH AS WHEN DEPARTING FROM A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. IT ALSO SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM LOW SPEED, SUCH AS COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND ACCELERATING AFTER SLOWLY TURNING ONTO A STREET. THE ENTIRE CAR SHAKES AS IT TRIES TO PICK UP SPEED. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE ENGINE IS COLD OR WARM. I HAVE READ DOZENS UPON DOZENS OF IDENTICAL ACCOUNTS FROM OTHER 2017 FORD FOCUS OWNERS. SOMETHING IS INHERENTLY WRONG WITH THE POWERTRAIN SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THE FLEET AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the seal and clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, and the contact was informed that the warranty had expired. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission, clutch, and valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000. The VIN was not available.
POWER LOSS TO DRIVE WHEELS STARTING FROM STOPS MAKES VEHICLE FEEL UNSAFE IN TRAFFIC. DUAL CLUTCH POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS, SLIPS, AND SOMETIMES CLUNKS IN FIRST & INTO SECOND GEARS UNDER NOMINAL ACCELERATION. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 22,000 MILES. FORD FOCUS DUAL CLUTCH POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS REMAIN. AND THIS IS THE SECOND TRANSMISSION REPLACED BY FORD AT ONLY 17,000 MILES.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the check engine and oil pressure warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that while attempting to exit the interstate, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the engine before the vehicle stalled. The contact pulled off the Interstate, turned off, and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that a dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired by an independent mechanic. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 69,921.
THIS STARTED ABOUT TWO WEEK AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR. THE CAR HAD 18890 MILES ON IT WHEN WE BOUGHT IT ON 10/23/2019.THE CAR WILL SLIP IN TO NEUTRAL BETWEEN SHIFTS AND WILL NOT GO OVER 45MILES AN HOUR. SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT GO OVER 25 MILES AN HOUR.
SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT THIS CAR. I NOTICED ORIGINALLY LAST OF POWER DURING ACCELERATION AND LATER IT WOULD DO A COMBINATION OF LAST OF POWER AT TIMES AND LUNGING WHEN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT GEARS(AUTOMATICALLY). EVENTUALLY, FRONTIER FORD(DEALERSHIP) REPLACED THE CLUTCH N A FEW OTHER MINOR ITEMS RELATED TO THE CLUTCH. THE PROBLEMS THE SAME ISSUES CONTINUE TO OCCUR. I FINALLY FILED A COMPLAIN WITH THE BBB, IT APPEARS THE DEALERSHIP SIMPLY NEVER RETURNED THEIR CALLS OR EMAILS AND THAT CASE WAS CLOSED. NEXT I CONTACTED THE SJ BUREAU OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR. THEIR DETERMINATION WAS THAT FORD FIESTAS AND FOCUS MODELS WERE NOTORIOUS FOR SERIOUS TRASMITION PROBLEMS. IT IMPLIED THAT IT WAS A FEATURE NOT A BUG BECAUSE EVENTHOUGH THE SJ BAR KNEW OF THESE SERIOUS ISSUES THEY TOOK NO ACTION. I STARTED NOT DRIVING THE CAR AS MUCH LOOKING INTO HOW I COULD GET THE MANUFACTURER TO BUY BACK THIS UNRELIABLE DANGEROUS CAR. I AM EN EXPERIENCED DRIVER SO I AVOIDED ACCIDENTS WHEN THE CAR WOULD MALFUNCTION, HOWEVER THE NIGH OF 11/06/19 AT ABOUT MIDNIGHT MY DAUGHTER TOOK THE CAR WITHOUT PERMITION AND WHEN THE CAR LUNGED FOWARD (AS IT WOULD DO WHILE SHIFTING GEARS AUTOMATICALLY) DURING A STREET TURN, SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND CRASHED INTO 2 PARKED CARS. THE AIRBAGS DIDNT DEPLOY AND THE SEATBEALT DIDNT LOCK RESULTING IN HER GETTING A CONCUSION AND A PRETTY BLOODY MOUTH AS HER HEAD HIT THE STEERING WHEEL(THESE 2 DEFECTS WERE UNKNOWN TO ME PREVIOUSLY). HAVING TO DO MONTHLY PAYMENTS ON THIS UNSAFE, UNRELIABLE CAR HAD LOTS OF NEGATIVE RIPPLE EFFECTS IN MY FAMILY'S LIFE CULMINATING IN MY DAUGHTER BEING INJURED BY WELL KNOWN DEFECTS BY FORD. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE IS EVEN CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS FOR FIESTA AND FOCUS CARS BUT I TRUELY DONT KNOW HOW ANY OF THAT WORKS. MY HOPE HERE IS THAT AT A MINIMUM THESE COMPLAINS CAN HELP GET THESE DANGEROUS CARS OFF THE ROAD.
MY 2017 FORD FOCUS IS HAVING ISSUES WITH JIDDERING AND JUMPING. IT IS ESPECIALLY WORSE WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND GOING, IT WILL SHAKE AND JUMP. MY CAR IS NOT DAMAGED I JUST KNOW THE 2015 YEARS ARE DOING THE SAME THING AND A RECALL WAS ISSUED. IT DOES THIS JUMPING LIKE THING REGARDLESS CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY IT'S JUST WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A STOP AND GOES AGAIN. IF YOU EASE INTO IT OR FLOOR IT IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE ON OCTOBER 28 2019 AND THE NEXT DAY THE CAR STALL AND WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND WHILE CARRING A PATIENT I WAS DRIVING TO THE DOCTORS OFFICE ON OCTOBER 29 2019 TOOK CAR BACK THEY SAID THEY HAD FIX THE ISSUE THEN THE NEXT DATE IT RAIN IT ALL GOT WET ON THE PASSAGER SIDE TOOK TO DEALSHIP THEY HAD THE CARE SINCE NOV 4 PICK UP ON NOV 22 AND CAR STILL HAS SAME ISSUE AND IT WAS STATIONARY WHEN GETTING WET AND IN MOTION WHEN IT STALL AND IT IS A RISK BECAUSE I CARRY PATIENTS IN MY CAR EVERY DAY IT MY JOB AND DEALSHIP HAS YET TO GIVE ME PAPER INVOICE ON REPAIRS DONE TO CAR AND I CALL THEM AND SPEAK WITH THEM THEY SAY IM GOING TO CALL YOU BACK AND THEY DONT ITS SAMES FORD DEALSHIP IN KINGSVILLE TEXAS AND I DO HAVE VIDEO ON THE DAY IT WAS GETTING WET IN SIDE AND YOU CAN SEE HOW THE WATER WAS DRIPPING
WHEN I GO TO TAKE OFF IT SHUDDERS REALLY BAD AND TRANS FEELS LIKE OTS SLIPPING
THE VEHICLE IS EXHIBITING THE SAME ISSUES AS HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED ON 2012-2016 FORD FOCUS MODELS EQUIPPED WITH THE INFAMOUS DPS6 TRANSMISSION (CONSULT DETROIT FREE PRESS COVERAGE ON THE DPS6 SITUATION, EXAMPLE HTTPS://WWW.FREEP.COM/STORY/MONEY/CARS/FORD/2019/09/13/FORD-FOCUS-FIESTA-TRANSMISSION-CLASS-ACTION-STALLED-DPS-6/2312926001/). DURING GENTLE ACCELERATION FROM STOP, THE VEHICLE FREQUENTLY WILL SHUDDER VIOLENTLY DURING ACCELERATION, AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS HUNTING BETWEEN GEARS. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, OR DURING ACCELERATION WHEN THE CAR IS ALREADY IN MOTION AND AT NORMAL DRIVING SPEEDS (35-40MPH). AT TIME OF PURCHASE, I WAS TOLD THE 2017 MODELS DID NOT HAVE THE DPS6 UNIT. AFTER A PREVIOUS INCIDENT, IT WAS TAKEN TO JOHN BLEAKLEY FORD IN LITHIA SPRINGS GA (NOW KNOWN AS LITHIA SPRINGS FORD, AND THE DEALER FROM WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED), WHERE THE SERVICE ADVISOR NOTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS INDEED EXHIBITING SIMILAR BEHAVIOR, BUT FOR A DIFFERENT REASON. THE REPAIR LASTED A FEW MONTHS BEFORE STARTING AGAIN A FEW MONTHS AGO. I BELIEVE I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS A DPS6, OR THAT THIS REDESIGNED TRANSMISSION HAS A NEAR-IDENTICAL DESIGN FAULT TO THE DPS6, AND THUS THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED OR DEEMED DEFECTIVE.
CAR VIBRATES WHEN ACCELERATING IN LOWER GEARS-GOING FROM STANDSTILL TO 1ST GEAR EXPERIENCES A SEVERE VIBRATION.
WHILE I'M DRIVING ON FREEWAY OR REGULAR HIGHWAY THE CAR JUST DIES OUT FOR NO APPARENT REASON ALMOST GOT INTO A BAD WRECK BECAUSE OF IT HAD TO COAST IT OFF THE ROAD OUT OF WAY FROM TRAFFIC SO I WOULDN'T GET HIT IT'S DONE THIS MORE THEN ONCE TOOK IT IN AND THEY RESET THE COMPUTER IT WAS OK FOR 2 DAYS THEN DID THE EXACT SAME THING JUST DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE WHOLE CAR TURNED OFF SO HAD TO PUT IN PARK AND THEN START TOOK A FEW TIMES TO START THEN FINALLY STARTED AND LEFT BUT THIS KEEPS HAPPENING DEFINITELY NOT GOOD FOR VEHICLE THAT ONLY HAS 44 THOUSAND MILES ON IT .
TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. IT IS A 2017 AND THIS SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING. OTHER 2017 FORD FOCUS' ARE UNDER RECALL FOR THIS BUT MY PARTICULAR CAR ISN'T FOR WHATEVER REASON. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AND VIBRATES WHILE CHANGING GEARS, ALSO HESITATES WHILE CHANGING GEARS, MAKES CHATTERING NOISES WHILE CHANGING GEARS AND IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE AT TIMES. FORD HAS ALREADY CHANGED THE CLUTCH AND IT SEEMED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER IT IS NOW DOING THE SAME THING.
The contact's wife owns a 2017 Ford Focus. The contact stated that soon after refueling the vehicle, the vehicle shut off without warning. The contact stated that his wife would depress the accelerator pedal to prevent the vehicle from inadvertently stalling. The contact stated that initially, no warning lights had appeared on the instrument panel; however, recently the check engine warning light had illuminated. The vehicle was initially taken to the dealer however, the mechanic found no failure with the vehicle. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic test showed that the vehicle had a defective PCV valve. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the mechanic informed him that he was familiar with the failure; however, he was provided an estimate for a diagnostic fee. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
TRANSMISSION GEARS ARE ROUGH, SLIPPING, JERKS A LITTLE AND TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS AND CAN'T DRIVE. LOOSES POWER WHEN DRIVING. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE BUT I WAS TOLD ONLY THE CARS THAT IN A MANUFACTURED AREA OR A GROUP ARE IN RECALL. MAKES NO SENSE BECAUSE WE HAVE THE EXACT SAME CAR THAT IS BEING RECALLED AND WE WEREN'T IN THAT GROUP OR MANUFACTURED AREA SO OUR VEHICLE WON'T BE REPAIRED. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS WHOLE ISSUE. IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE ONES IN GROUP THAT ARE BEING RECALLED. WHY ISN'T OUR CAR BEING RECALLED, IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE ALSO... THIS SEAMS VERY WRONG. OUR CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND WE DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY TO FIX ON OUR OWN...
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, MY CAR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I THEN WOULD HAVE TO SIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE I CAN CRANK IT AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN I CAME TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND WHEN I HAD STOPPED TO TURN IN AT A DESTINATION.I'VE ALSO HAD WENT TO CRANK MY CAR AFTER NOT DRIVING FOR A DAY AND IT WOULD NOT START AT FIRST. THEN AFTER A FEW MINUTES, IT STARTED. EACH TIME IT HAPPENED I GOT AN ENGINE FAULT MESSAGE DISPLAYED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID NOT HELP. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE SO THEY COULD NOT FIX.
WHEN I'M DRIVING MY CAR IT DOESN'T MATTER THE SPEED I USED TO THINK IT ONLY HAPPENED IF I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY BUT IT HAPPENED ON MY WAY HOME A DAY AND I WAS GOING 35-40 MPH. BASICALLY WHILE DRIVING MY CAR STARTS TO SLOW DOWN AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PRESS THE GAS IT DOESN'T CHANGE GEARS/ SPEED UP. WHEN THIS TENDS TO HAPPEN THE ENGINE FAULT LIGHT WILL COME ON. BY THE TIME I GET TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON THEY SAY NOTHING READS ON THE DIAGNOSTIC SO BASICALLY WHATEVER REASON THE LIGHT COMES ON FOR DOESN'T STAY IN THE SYSTEM SO THAT THEY CAN SEE THE ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES WITHIN THE PAST TWO MONTHS.
DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR SHUT DOWN , AND WOULD NOT RESTART. WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF ROAD. AFTER 15 MINUTES CAR RESTARTED. TOOK IT TO GET DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. CAME UP REPLACE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS PURGE CONTROL VALVE.
2017 FORD FOCUS TITANIUM. DALLAS, TX. ENGINE MISSES WHEN ACCELERATING. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A 2 LANE FARM TO MARKET ROAD WHICH I DRIVE TWICE A DAY AT THE LEAST- THE CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN AND IT WAS AS IF THE GAS PEDAL WASN'T WORKING. AND OF COURSE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO GET ELECTRONICALLY DIAGNOSED AND IT IS A VALVE FOR THE GAS. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICES VIA MAIL. I NEED THIS TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE TIME FOR THE INSPECTION IN A MONTH. HOW DO I GO ABOUT SEEING IF THIS IS IN FACT A RECALL AND GET IT FIXED ASAP??

PURCHASED 9/2018.CARE HAS BEEN SHAKING LIKES ITS GOING TO FALL APART EVER SINCE THEN. . ALSO WHEN I BARELY TAP THE BREAKS ITS STOP SO SUDDENLY THE JILT FORCES ME FORWARD.. TODAY 9/13/19 THE TRANSMISSION FAULT MESSAGE CAME ON. AND WENT OFF. THEN WHEN I START THE CAR BACK UP TO CHECK SYSTEMS.. THE MESSAGE SYSTEM SAYS ALL SYSTEMS NORMAL AND THE LIGHT DIDNT COME BACK ON AFTER DRIVING IT AROUND, SHIFT FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, AND SHUTTING OF AND STARTING UP CAR 3 DIFFERENT TIMES.
I HAVE FELT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE CAR SHAKE AND SEEM TO STRUGGLE TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOP TO GO. SEEMS TO INCREASINGLY GET WORSE
CAR WILL SHUTTER FROM A STOP TO ACCELERATE TO SPEED. SCARY SOME TIMES THINKING YOUR GOING TO LOSE SPEED AND GET HIT. THIS HAPPENS MANY TIME, BUT BELOW YOU ONLY ALOW FOR ONE DATE OF INCIDENT, HAPPENS ALMOST EVERYDAY I DRIVE
CAR STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, JERKING AND PROBLEMS WITH SHIFTING INTO A GEAR. IT DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING AND I DRIVE FOR LYFT AND UBER AND IT HAS SCARED CUSTOMERS . I'M SCARED FOR MY SAFETY AND OTHERS. THERE IS A RECALL ON EXACT SAME CAR BUT OURS WAS NOT IN THE 'MANUFACTURE GROUP ONLY CERTAIN CARS. FORD KNOWS OF THESE PROBLEMS BUT THEY JUST DON'T CARE .. THIS CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD .

THE CONTACT MANAGED TO VEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE DEALER; HOWEVER CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) WAS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.
THE TRANSMISSION SUFFERS FROM A MAJOR SHUDDER AND DROP IN POWER BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR, JUST LIKE THE PREVIOUS FOCUS ISSUES. THERE IS A TERRIBLE UP-SHIFT DELAY, AND A DOWNSHIFT DROP AND JERK. THERE IS A LOSS OF POWER CONSISTENTLY, WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY WHEN WARM. THE FORD DEALER REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE AND REFUSES TO HONOR THE WARRANTY AND REBUILD/REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE DROPS POWER WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, WHEN STARTING MOTION, THERE IS A GRINDING AND MAJOR GRUMBLE AS IF THE TRANSMISSION/ENGINE IS GOING TO FALL OUT OF THE CAR. THE FORD DEALER KEEPS SAYING THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM AND REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES, JUST LIKE THEY DID WITH THE PREVIOUS FOCUS.

WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE HAS A JOLTING SIMILAR TO DROPPING THE CLUTCH IN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1-2 THERE IS A LOUD GRINDING (REALLY BAD) AND NOTICABLE SHIMMY IN THE VEHICLE ACCOMPANIED BY A LOSS OF POWER AND A SUDDEN JUMP WHEN THE CLUTCH CATCHES. THERE IS A COMMON LOSS OF POWER WHEN COMING FROM A STOP. THESE SYMPTOMS ARE EVEN MORE COMMON WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS WARMED UP AND DRIVEN FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES.
I WAS INFORMED THAT MY CAR IS NOT A PART OF THE RECENT RECALL OF THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE AS IT RELATES TO THE CLUTCH. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE RECALL DOES NOT INCLUDE THE CLUTCH. SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED, WE TOLD THE SERVICE REPS UPON ACCELERATION, THE FRONT END OF THE CAR SHAKES, FEELS LIKE FRONT END IS FALLING OUT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO BE TOLD THE RECALL DOES NOT COVER THE CLUTCH. THE REASON I AM TOLD, IS BECAUSE OF THE PLANT THE CAR WAS SHIPPED FROM. 11/11/19. I HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED INSIDE TRANSMISSION 8 MONTHS AGO BECAUSE OF A HARD VIBRATION AFTER I PRESS GAS PEDAL FROM A STOP MAJOR OF TIMES. THIS DILEMMA IS STILL OCCURRING A HARD VIBRATION AFTER I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL FROM A STOP MAJOR OF TIMES WHEN I'M IN TRAFFIC WAITING 4 THE LIGHT TO CHANGE TO PROCEED ON THE ROADWAY.
THERE WAS A RECALL 18S32 CAMPAIGN FUEL TANK DEFORMATION ISSUED LATE 2018. THE PCM SYSTEM WAS NOT ADEQUATELY DETECTING A STUCK OPEN CANISTER PURGE VALUE. ON AUGUST 24TH, 2019 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO GET THE RECALL REPAIR DUE TO STALLING WITHOUT NOTICE AND DANGEROUS IN DRIVABILITY CONCERNS. ON AUGUST 25TH, THE FOLLOWING DAY, I HAD THE VERY SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS. I TOOK IT TO PEPBOYS TO DIAGNOSE, AND THE SAME CODES WERE POPULATING FOR THE RECALL. PEPBOYS ADVISED TO TAKE IT BACK TO A DEALER. I THEN TOOK IT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP ON OCTOBER 22ND FOR A SECOND OPINION, AND THEY STATED THAT THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE WAS STICKING. ON OCTOBER 24TH, THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED BACK TO ME AND WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS SAME SYMPTOMS. ON NOV 5TH, 2019, I WAS ADVISED THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE WAS REPLACED AFTER THE PARTS WERE ON BO FOR 2-3 WEEKS. HOWEVER, CAR STARTED DRIVING THE VERY EXACT WAY FOLLOWED BY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING WARNING. ADDITIONALLY, THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND A DIESEL HAD TO SWIFTLY HIT ON THEIR BREAKS TO PREVENT CRASHING INTO ME. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED BACK ON THE 8TH OF NOVEMBER, HOWEVER, DEALERSHIP STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CONCERN. ON NOVEMBER 13, THE VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP AND ON NOVEMBER 14TH I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK DUE TO THE SAME ISSUES. ON NOVEMBER 30, I WAS ADVISED THAT THEY NOTICE A CLUTCH SLIPPING, VEHICLE REV HIGH WHEN TRYING TO REVERSE OR ACCELERATE. HOWEVER, VEHICLE OPERATING AS DESIGN. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. AFTER 6 ATTEMPTS IN TRYING TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE, IT IS NOT. MY SAFETY IS A CONCERN HERE AS THE VEHICLE IS NOT OPERATING AS DESIGN AND CURRENTLY REMAINS AS IS.

HELLO, I HAVE A 2017 FORD FOCUS. I HAD TOOK MY CAR TO A AUTO SHOP BECAUSE I STARTED TO SMELL GAS AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD CAME ON. THE AUTO SHOP TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A LEAK SOME WERE AND ITS GOING TO COST ME $430 JUST TO DROP THE TANK TO SEE WERE THE LEAK IS COMING FROM BUT THEN TOLD ME THERE WAS A NEW RECALL FOR THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL FOR A FUEL TANK DEFECT. SO I TOOK MY CAR TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER AND THEY TELL ME THAT THE RECALL NOT FOR THIS VIN #. I'M NOT SURE IF MY VIN # WAS OVER LOOKED BECAUSE IT'S HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE OTHER CARS.
So in 2019 or 2020 i honest cant remember because it has happening many times and ive taken it to the dealership and nothing gets done but I had the headgasket recall done on my car. My car is modified and the recall job was still performed. Afterwards i started to experience problems witht the motor. I notice i was loosing oil fast and it was also all over the side of the engine. also when it would be cold and rain, my car would struggle to startup and sometimes the engine would not want to run. the car never threw a code so when i took it back to the dealership they would let it sit, the condensation would disappear and the car would run fine. After spending time on the internet and seeing a couple of other mechanics it came down to the TIMING COVER being install improperly due to the headgasket job performed. TIMING COVER is leaking oil from thetop of the engine which also lets in condisation inside the engine that also gives me problems when it rains. The dealership that worked on the car does not want to fix the issue becasue the car is modified even though its been proven that any modifications will not cause a timing cover to leak oil unless the headgaket job was done impropely. now i am stuck with a bad engine when it was working fine before the recall.
I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2017 FORD FOCUS AND HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 6 TIMES FOR AN ERROR CODE OF P0299 TURBO/SUPER CHARGER UNDERBOOSTER GOING OFF. THE ENGINE IS LOSING POWER WHEN IT STARTS ACTING UP AND TO PROTECT THE CAR IT SHUTS DOWN THE UNDERBOOSTER. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REARENDED SEVERAL TIMES AND MY VERY PREGNANT DAUGHER IN LAW AND I WERE ALMOST T-BONED DUE TO THE PROBLEM AS WE WETE MAKING A LEFT TURN OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD ONTO A BUSY STREET. WHEN TAKING IT INTO THE SHOP LOU FUSZ CHESTERFIELD HAS TOLD ME SEVERAL TIMES THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR OR DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ALARM AND WHEN YOU TURN THE CAR OFF THE CODE RESETS ITSELF. I HAVE ASKED FORD TO WORK WITH ME TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE AND THEY JUST SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING BECAUSE I HAD 18 MONTHS DUE TO THE LEMON LAW IN MISSOURI.
MY VEHICLE ENGINE COMPLETELY STOPPED ON ITS OWN AND THE VEHICLE INDICATORS SHOWED THAT THE ENGINE OVERHEATED. THIS WAS AFTER LESS THAN 10 MINUTES ON THE FREEWAY GOING 55 MPH. THIS VEHICLE HAS A SOFTWARE RELATED RECALL FOR IT AS WELL CURRENTLY. I TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AUTONATION FORD OF MIAMI TO BE SERVICED FOR THE RECALL AND FOR THE ENGINE TROUBLE(IT ONLY HAS 26,000 MILES) AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE TO EVEN OFFER A DIAGNOSIS FOR AT LEAST 2-3 DAYS. THEY DID NOT OFFER A LOANER VEHICLE OR ANY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION IN THE INTERIM. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR, ESPECIALLY FOR A VEHICLE UNDER RECALL. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED TWICE AT THIS DEALERSHIP WITH MY TWO FORD VEHICLES.
