2005 FORD FREESTYLE SEL EXHIBITED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHEN PULLING INTO PARKING SPACE. VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD ABOUT 2 FEET WHILE MOVING FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE. ENGINE SPEED RETURNED TO IDLE ONCE BRAKE WAS APPLIED. *TR
MY 2005 FREESTYLE IS MAKING LOUD RATTLING SOUND (COMING FROM TRANS) AND THE FAILSAFE MODE INDICATOR AS WELL AS THE YELLOW WRENCH HAVE BEEN APPEARING. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SERVICE DEPT OF DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES FOR SURGING AND POWER FAILURES, ETC, AND THEY HAVE MADE NUMEROUS REPAIRS - (INCLUDING THE AC COMPRESSOR) AND REPLACED A HEAD GASKET (WHICH IS LEAKING BADLY NOW?), AND IT APPEARS THIS TIME IT MAY BE A THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM? THE DEALER WON'T LOOK AT IT TILL NEXT WEEK AND WANTS $200 TO CHECK IT OUT? PEOPLE WAITING IN LINE (AT THE SERVICE DEPT) TODAY TOLD ME THEY HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS (WITH FREESTYLES). THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL IF SO MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING.
2005 FORD FREESTYLE SEL LUNGES/SURGES WHEN PARKED OR AT LOW SPEEDS IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. IT WILL REV UP TO 3-4,000 RPM AND VEHICLE WILL ALMOST JUMP EVEN WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. WHEN AC IS RUNNING, IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN. IF BRAKES ARE APPLIED 100% IT WILL MOVE AND IT'S WORSE IN REVERSE. HAS ALMOST CAUSED A FEW FENDER BENDERS IN PARKING LOTS DUE TO THE LUNGING. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE WE GOT IT IN 2009 AND HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE FAILURE WOULD ALSO OCCUR WHILE STOPPED WITH THE BRAKES ENGAGED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 141,964. UPDATED 07/20/11*LJ THE CONSUMERS WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, WHEN IT ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL, WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE OTHER VEHICLE, BUT MINOR DAMAGE TO THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. UPDATED 08/05/11*JB
VEHICLE'S ENGINE SURGES AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN BACKING UP OR GOING FORWARDS. THE PROBLEM IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER IS RUNNING. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN CONSISTENTLY WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE, AND IT IS UNPREDICTABLE AND DANGEROUS. PRESSING THE BRAKES WILL STOP THE SURGE. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING OFF AND ON FOR A YEAR BUT HAS INCREASED IN FREQUENCY TO WHERE IT OCCURS NEARLY EVERY DAY. *TT
CAR LUNGES FORWARD AT CERTAIN TIMES. MOST NOTABLY WHILE AIR CONDITIONER IS RUNNING AND PULLING INTO A PARKING PLACE. SOMETIMES LUNGES WHILE PULLING OUT OF PARKING; SO WHILE IN REVERSE. SEEMS TO HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH TIGHT TURNING OF THE STEERING WHEEL. MENTION HAS BEEN MADE OF A POSSIBLE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR PROBLEM. WHEN TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC HOWEVER; IT WOULD NOT LUNGE, SO NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. ONLY DOES IT ON CERTAIN OCCASIONS. *TR
CAR WAS PARKED WITH OUT SIDE AIR TEMPERATURE 100+, STARTED CAR AND PUT IT INTO REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF ANGLE PARKING STALL, CAR ACCELERATED WITHOUT THROTTLE PEDAL NOT YET BEING PRESSED AND I APPLIED RAPID BRAKE STOPPING CAR. ENGINE WRENCH ICON APPEARED ON DASH DISPLAY WITH ENGINE FAILSAFE MESSAGE SHOWING. SHUT OFF KEY, RESTARTED AND ICONS DID NOT REAPPEAR. SAME THING OCCURRED TWO MORE TIMES AND I GOT CAR TO DEALER WITH THROTTLE CONTROL (BODY) FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED BY DEALER FOR $938.32. PROBLEM CAME BACK ON 07/24/2011 WITH MILEAGE AT 121216, AIR TEMPERATURE 104 AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK ON CITY STREET WITH FAILSAFE MESSAGE SHOWING. SHUT OFF KEY AND RESTARTED CAR WITH NO MESSAGE REAPPEARING. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND CODE FOR DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY FOUND WITH A REPLACEMENT COST OF $623.05 SUGGESTED. CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH CONCERN THAT FIX WAS SHORT LIVED AND PROBLEM IS DANGEROUS AND COULD COME BACK ANYTIME. FORD ADVISED THEY HAVE NO RECALL IN EFFECT AND ENGINEERING WOULD BE ADVISED AND MY REQUEST FOR A CALL BACK COULD HAPPEN OR NOT. *TR
2005 FORD FREESTYLE CONTINUOUSLY MISSING OUT AND OR LUNGES. IF IT'S HOT OUT & AIR IS ON CAR WILL DRASTICALLY LUNGE FORWARD OR REVERSE. IF IT'S RAINING OUT CAR MISSES OUT WHILE JUST DRIVING NORMALLY & ACTS AS IF IT'S GOING TO STALL OUT WHEN GOING FORWARD FROM A STOP LIGHT OR SIMILAR SITUATIONS. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY NEAR MISSES WITH BOTH TYPE OF INCIDENTS. ALSO CHECK FUEL CAP COMES ON PERIODICALLY & GOES OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON AS WELL. VEHICLE HAS NOT FELT SAFE FOR QUITE SOME TIME - BUT IT'S PAID FOR. I'VE READ MANY MANY CONCERNS WITH THESE ISSUES & AM SHOCKED THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED BY NOW - WHAT DOES IT TAKE?? *TR
WHEN STOPPING, PARKING, OR BACKING UP, THE VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY ACCELERATES UNEXPECTEDLY. IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS, IT HAS HAPPENED A MINIMUM OF 10 TIMES. I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED, AS I CANNOT AFFORD THE REPAIR COSTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SITTING WITH THE VEHICLE IDLE AND THE ENGINE RUNNING, THE VEHICLE WOULD LUNGE FORWARD ABNORMALLY. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000. I HAVE A 2005 FREESTYLE, I BOUGHT NEW, AND HAVE HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED TWICE FOR THIS SURGING ISSUE. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A BAD THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. I HAVE READ ON THE FORUMS ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR AND SHE FREAKS OUT WHEN IT SURGES, SHE HAS ALMOST LOST CONTROL SOMETIMES. *TR
AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN THE CAR IS IDLING OR AT LOW SPEEDS WITH NO CONTACT WITH THE GAS PEDAL, THE ENGINE SURGES. THIS OCCURS IN FORWARD OR REVERSE, WITH OR WITHOUT THE BRAKE BEING APPLIED. AT TIMES, THE SURGING IS SEVERE AND REQUIRES A LOT OF PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE TO HOLD THE CAR IN PLACE. LAST YEAR, IT SEEMED TO OCCUR MORE OFTEN WITH THE AC ON. THE COMPRESSOR DIED, SO WE HAD IT REPLACED, BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. WE HAVE NOT CRASHED INTO ANYTHING BUT HAVE COME VERY CLOSE. IT IS TROUBLING SINCE IT OCCURS AT LOW SPEEDS, MEANING WE'RE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO CARS, PEOPLE, AND BUILDINGS WHEN THE ENGINE SURGES. *TR
OWN A 2005 FORD FREESTYLE THAT LUNGES WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER IS TURNED ON. I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW WITH NO RESOLUTION. IT LUNGES AFTER I'VE BEEN SITTING IN IDLE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR IF I AM BACKING UP. SO FAR I'VE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT , BUT JUST WONDER WHEN MY LUCK WILL RUN OUT. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL STALL OUT AND GO IN TO ENGINE FAIL SAFE MODE. ALSO I WILL HAVE MY FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR SEEMS TO OVER RIDE THIS ACTION AND LUNGES/ACCELARATE ON ITS OWN. *TR
WHEN IDLING WITH YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY EXPERIENCE AN INCREASE IN THE RPMS AND "LUNGE" EITHER FORWARD OR BACKWARD DEPENDING ON WHICH GEAR IS SELECTED: DRIVE OR REVERSE. THIS BEHAVIOR HAPPENS INTERMEDIATELY, BUT DOES NOT SEEM TO OCCUR WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD.
2005 FORD FREESTYLE UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATES WHEN CAR IS PUT INTO GEAR (FORWARD OR REVERSE), THIS SEEMS TO BE ALIGNED WITH OTHER COMPLAINTS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA INVESTIGATION PE11018. THE ENGINE WILL REV WHEN PUTTING THE CAR INTO GEAR AND WILL LURCH IN THE DIRECTION OF THE GEAR THAT IT WAS PLACED IN. THIS IS NOT DUE TO THE DRIVER INADVERTENTLY PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BRAKE. THE DRIVER HAS TO FIRMLY PRESS ON THE BRAKES TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM MOVING. IF THE BRAKE IS ONLY PRESSED JUST ENOUGH TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR THE VEHICLE WILL ACTUALLY MOVE 3-4 FEET. THE HAPPENS SPORADICALLY BUT DOES OCCUR AT LEAST 4-5 TIMES A WEEK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FREE STYLE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 20 MPH WHEN THE WRENCH FAILURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCED ABNORMALLY HIGH RPMS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT ON A SEPARATE OCCASION THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 120,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY LUNGE FORWARD WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND WOULD LUNGE BACKWARD WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
ENGINE SURGED WHEN SHIFTED FROM PARK TO REVERSE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ENGINE STALLED, WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND ENGINE SAFE MODE APPEARED.. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THROTTLE BODY. *TR
HAD THIS PROBLEM PREVIOUSLY AND I EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM AGAIN YESTERDAY, MAY 31. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE 93. AC ON. IN A CONVENIENCE STORE PARKING LOT. CAR STARTED LURCHING FORWARD. HAD TO APPLY BREAKS HARD AS TO NOT HIT A PARKED CAR. CAR STALLED. RESTARTED, HAPPENED AGAIN. AFTER THE THIRD TIME OF LURCHING FORWARD AND STALLING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS DID THE WRENCH ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. COULDN'T DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEED BUT MANAGED TO GET TO DESTINATION. AFTER THE CAR SAT FOR 3 HOURS, WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME AT NORMAL SPEED. THE WRENCH IS OFF, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS. CAR SEEMED TO DRIVE NORMALLY THIS MORNING, JUNE 1. RPM STILL A BIT HIGH. OUTSIDE TEMP 89. I DID NOT RUN THE AC YET. PLAN ON CALLING FORD DEALER TO SCHEDULE SERVICE. MANY ONLINE FORUMS SAY THIS IS A THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM. I PLAN TO ASK THE DEALER TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TO CHECK THE CODES AND WILL ASK THEM TO CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY AND REPLACE MY AIR FILTER AS WELL. REPORTED PREVIOUSLY #10372235. AGAIN, DRIVING SLOW, CAR SURGED FORWARD. I RAN INTO THE DOOR FRAME OF MY GARAGE BECAUSE THE CAR JUST TOOK OFF. *TR

MY WIFE AND I JUST BOUGHT A 2005 FORD FREESTYLE, 2005 MODEL. THE VEHICLE JERKS AND LUNGES WHEN OUR FOOT IS NOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE BOUGHT IT AND THEY SENT IT OUT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THE CLAIM THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND GAVE IT BACK TO US. THE CAR STILL JERKS AND LUNGES AND IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. *TR
I EXPERIENCED AN UNCOMMANDED AND OVERCOMPENSATING THROTTLE RESPONSE WHILE BACKING UP. AT THE TIME THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR WAS ENGAGED AND THE STEERING WHEEL ABOUT ONE TURN FROM FULL LOCK. I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLES SPEED WITH THE BRAKES AND NO INCIDENT RESULTED, HOWEVER WITHOUT A TIMELY RESPONSE THE OUTCOME MAY HAVE TURNED OUT DIFFERENTLY. THE "WRENCH LIGHT" ILLUMINATED DURING THE OCCURRENCE BUT TURNED OFF AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR. THE THROTTLE DOES SERGE SLIGHTLY AT HIGHWAY SPEED BUT IS BARLEY NOTICEABLE COMPARED TO A LOAD PLACED ON THE ENGINE AT IDLE. LOOKING BACK SEVERAL YEARS, WE ALSO HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME STARTING PROBLEMS, WHICH I THINK IS RELATED. I BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY UNIT, PART # 5F9Z9E926B. THE PROBLEM IS INCONSISTENT. I HAVE NOT YET REPLACED THE UNIT, ONLY CLEANED IT, WHICH IS NOT A SOLUTION. *TR
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE MOST RECENT BEING MAY 28, 2011, MY 2005 FORD FREESTYLE HAS HAD SUDDEN ACCELERATION ISSUES. ON SATURDAY, MAY 28, 2011, THIS OCCURRED WHEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. I HAVE FOUND THAT ONLY BY TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT WILL THIS CORRECT THE ISSUE. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN IN BOTH DRIVE AND REVERSE. LUCKILY IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER I HAVE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND I AM MOVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED EITHER IN MY DRIVEWAY OR IN A PARKING LOT. I HAVE NOT HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BUT HEARING ON THE NEWS THAT THIS IS A REPORTED ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE ENCOURAGED ME TO DO MORE RESEARCH AS THERE HAS NOT BEEN A COMMON DENOMINATOR THAT WOULD ALLOW ME TO HAVE A DEALER REPLICATE THE ISSUE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD ALSO OCCUR WHILE IN REVERSE OR SPORADICALLY WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
FOR THE PAST MONTH OR SO, MY 2005 FORD FREESTYLE WILL SURGE IN SPEED, WHEN SHIFTED INTO EITHER DRIVE OR REVERSE, DURING LOW IDLE. IN ALL SITUATIONS WHEN THE SPEED SURGE HAS OCCURRED, I DID NOT HAVE MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, ONLY ON THE BRAKE. THIS CONDITION IS MOST PRONOUNCED AFTER A COLD START. THE AMOUNT OF TIME TO START THE ENGINE HAS ALSO INCREASED SINCE THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIRST NOTICED. ALSO, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE RPM'S CAN FLUCTUATE 200 TO 300 RPMS EVEN WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ACTIVE, THE CAR IS BEING OPERATED ON A RELATIVELY FLAT AND STRAIGHT SURFACE. THIS ISSUE OF RPM FLUCTUATION HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS OR GREATER. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SUBLTLY GETTING WORSE OVER TIME. WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THE FLUXUATION, IT WAS BARELY NOTICABLE. NOW, YOU CAN FEEL YOURSELF ROCKING BACK AND FORTH SLIGHTLY WITH THE ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION OF THE VEHICLE DURING A FLUCTUATION OCCURRANCE. THE OCCURRANCES CAN LAST ANYWHERE FROM 10 SECONDS TO 30 SECONDS. AND SOMETIMES CAN BE REPLICATED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ALONG USING SIMILAR ROAD CONDITIONS. I POST TWO ISSUES WITHIN THIS COMPLAINT ONLY BECAUSE I BELIEVE THEY ARE RELATED. SHOULD INFORMATION ARISE TO INDICATE A SEPERATE ISSUE, I SHALL RESUBMIT THE 2ND PARAGRAPH. *TR
FORD FREESTYLE 2005 EXPERIENCING THE LUNGING ISSUE PRETTY MUCH SINCE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW. JUST FIGURED IT WAS A "TOUCHY" ENGINE THAT I NEEDED TO GET USED TO. AFTER HEARING THAT THERE WERE MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE, TOOK IT TO DEALER. FIRST DEALER COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. SECOND DEALER INSISTED THAT IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY FOR $900 - MY EXPENSE. SINCE THEN AIR CONDITIONER HAS NOT WORKED AND EAST COAST HAS HAD 5 HEAT WAVES - STARING DOWN THE THROAT OF #6. DEALER CLAIMS THAT THERE IS NO RELATION TO PREVIOUS WORK DONE (30 DAYS AGO). I DO REALIZE THAT AIR CONDITIONING IS A LUXURY, BUT AM LEARNING FROM OTHER POSTS THAT DEALERS ARE PUSHING COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF COMPRESSORS ($800 ++) WHILE OTHER PEOPLE ARE GETTING THEIR FIX WITH A VALVE REPLACEMENT ($30). THESE OVERCHARGING PRACTICES ARE UNACCEPTABLE AND WITH SO MANY PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEMS, IT IS APPARENT THAT THESE ARE MANUFACTURER'S DEFAULTS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
FORD FREESTYLE STALLS AND SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING, DISABLING THE POWERED STEERING AMONG OTHER THINGS AND CAUSES VERY UNSAFE SITUATIONS. SOMETIMES THERE IS SURGING OF THE ENGINE AS WELL, ESPECIALLY WHILE USING AC OR TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAS CAUSED MANY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS ON THE ROAD WHERE ALL OF THE SUDDEN WE STALL IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER ABOUT THREE TIMES FOR THESE ISSUES, LAST TIME FOR FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING BUT THIS HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEMS. *TR

ON MAY 21, 2011 IT WAS THE HOTTEST DAY SINCE THE A/C WAS REPAIRED AND THE SURGING WAS WORSE. IT DID IT THREE CONSECUTIVE TIMES AND THEN THE CAR DIED. I GOT IT STARTED AND 'LIMPED' HOME. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

SOME INSTANCES ARE WORSE THAN OTHERS WITH MORE FORCE, BUT I AM ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BY PRESSING HARDER ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAVE ALMOST HIT A COUPLE OF CARS IN THE DRIVE THRU LANES AT RESTAURANTS. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED MY FREESTYLE CUTTING OFF WHILE AT A LIGHT, AND EVEN ONCE WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. THE CAR JUST DIED. I CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE THROTTLE BODY STICKING AND ITS WAY OF CORRECTING ITSELF IS TO LUNGE THE CAR AND ATTEMPT TO RIGHT THE ISSUE. THEY QUOTED ANYWHERE FROM $100 TO TRY TO CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY AND POSSIBLE HAVE TO REPLACE IT TO THE TUNE OF ABOUT $700.
