DRIVING IN WET CONDITIONS ON SIDE ROAD, WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR RED LIGHT AND ABS KICKED IN AND SLID A LITTLE AND BRAKES WENT SOFT AFTER. WAS ABLE TO PUMP BRAKES AND THEY WENT BACK TO NORMAL. A FEW MONTHS LATER IN WET CONDITIONS AGAIN ON SIDE ROAD TRYING TO STOP, ABS KICKED IN AND BRAKES WENT SOFT. THEY NEVER RETURNED TO NORMAL AND WOULD HAVE TO PRESS BRAKES ALL THE WAY DOWN TO ENGAGE BRAKING. THEY HAD BEEN SOFT EVER SINCE. TOOK IN TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE HCU SYSTEM AND THEN THEY WERE BACK TO NORMAL.
BRAKES ARE LOW/SOFT WHEN ABS IS ACTIVATED AND IT'S BEEN DIAGNOSED AS BEING HCU DEFECTIVE FROM FACTORY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR PUBLIC BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE DRIVER TO CRASH INTO OBJECTS OR OTHER CARS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
2008 FORD FUSION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. *LD *TR
IF THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED WHILE ON SNOW, ICE OR BUMPS THE ABS ENGAGES THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND WILL HAVE TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR TO STOP AFTER THAT. TO BRING THE PEDAL BACK TO NORMAL OPERATING CONDITION I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR THEN PUMP THE BRAKES EXTREMELY HARD. THIS COULD HAPPEN IN AS LITTLE AS EVERY 20 FEET WHEN DRIVING IN SNOWY CONDITIONS. THIS ALSO AFFECTS THE STEERING WHEN DRIVING IN SLIPPERY CONDITIONS. THE ABS IS SUPPOSE TO HELP KEEP THE CAR IN CONTROL WHEN ROADS ARE SLIPPERY. BECAUSE IT'S NOT WORKING PROPERLY I HAVE TO DRIVE SLOWER THEN EVERYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD AND IT WILL STILL SLIDE AROUND, ESPECIALLY ON TURNS. I HAVE SEARCHED THE WEB AND HAVE FOUND THAT 3 FORD BUILT CARS HAVE THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE OF FAULTY ABS PUMPS. I WAS GOING TO TO FILE A COMPLAINT YEARS AGO BUT WHEN I RESEARCH BACK THEN IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM TO FORD AND THE NHTSA SO I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE RECALLED SOON ANYWAY. HOWEVER SINCE THEY STILL HAVEN'T BEEN RECALLED I DECIDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT. FORD CHARGES ABOUT $1500.00 TO REPLACED THE PART WHICH TO ME IS LIKE STEALING FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS SINCE THEY KNOW THEY PUT A FAULTY PART IN AND THAT IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. BELOW YOU ASK WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE FIRST SNOW AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR AND STILL HAPPENS. THANKS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SOFT AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED VILLAGE FORD (11660 SE NORTH, US-441, BELLEVIEW, FL 34420, (352) 233-2900) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO BUSY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,741. *BF CONSUMER STATED SINCE THIS INCEDENT, I'VE HAD TWO MORE, THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS BEAKES, BUT IT ONLY HAPPENS WITH AN ABS EVENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MADERA FORD (200 S MADERA AVE, MADERA, CA 93637, (559) 674-6771) TO BE REPAIRED, BUT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTERWARDS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 217,285.

TAKATA RECALL THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO MY CAR OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT THAT HAS HAPPENED YET BUT I WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS RECALL 3 YEARS AGO AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THIS HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED YET. I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT UNTIL MY LOVED ONES OR MYSELF IS INJURED FROM THIS ISSUE. I WOULD APPRECIATE MORE URGENCY ON THIS MATTER AND THE FACT THAT I OWN A CAR THAT IS DEFECTIVE. I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL RECALL NOTICES IN THE MAIL AND HAVE SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN YET TO THIS MATTER, THIS IS ABSURD.
NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHERE BRAKE WENT SOFT DURING 2018. HAD THE BRAKES CHECKED OUT 2X BUT NOTHING WAS DETERMINED. I'M DECEMBER 2018 DURING A SKIFF OF SNOW THE BRAKES WENT SOFT AND TO THE FLOOR AND MY DAUGHTER REAR ENDED THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF HER CAUSING $3,000 IN DAMAGE. THANKFUL THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG THAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING TO GET FIXED UNDER RECALL FOR 1.5 YEARS+ DID NOT DEPLOY.
BRAKE PEDAL IS SOFT AND REQUIRES INCREASED BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL UNTIL THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED AFTER THE ABS SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED ON SNOWY ROADS. THIS BRAKE PROBLEM MADE DRIVING EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AS THE BRAKES WERE CONSIDERABLY REDUCED. BRAKING HAS STILL NOT RETURNED TO NORMAL AFTER 3 DAYS AND NO LONGER CONSIDER MY VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE AND CURRENTLY RESEARCHING OPTIONS TO REPAIR.
WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN IN THE STATE OF WI IN NOVEMBER WITH SNOW COVERED ROADS MY ABS ACTIVATED WHILE SLIDING INTO THE STOP SIGN AND BRAKING HOWEVER THE BREAK JUST WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I DROVE RIGHT THROUGH THE STOP SIGN. I PROCEEDED TO PUMP THE BREAK HOWEVER THE BREAKS WERE SOFT AND SQUISHY. THE BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. DUE TO THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT WHICH HAS A VALVE STICKING. A COMMON PROBLEM I LEARNED WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED SO NO ONE GET SERIOUSLY INJURED.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM CAMPUS AND MY SUSPENSION STARTED ACTING UP. IT STARTED FIRING UP AND DOWN AND FLUCTUATING A LOT. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY AND TAKE BACKROADS. IT WAS STILL ACTING UP THE ENTIRE TIME. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT AND "WRENCH" LIGHT BOTH CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY. I COULD BARELY GO OVER 35 MPH WITHOUT THE RPM FLARING UP PAST 5000 AND IT FELT LIKE MY WHOLE ENGINE WAS GOING TO GIVE OUT. EVEN WHEN I WAS GOING 20-25 MPH, IT FELT AND SOUNDED LIKE I HAD THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE AAA GUY WHO TOWED MY CAR SAID THAT I HAD THE SAME TRANSMISSION PART NUMBER AS A 2010, WHICH GOT RECALLED FOR FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS. MY CAR ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT SO THERE IS NO WAY I SHOULD BE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION UNLESS THE PART IS FAULTY OR IT IS SOMETHING I AM UNAWARE OF.
THIS VEHICLE FAILS TO STOP ON SLICK OR ICY ROADS. STEP ON BRAKE AND IT GOES RIGHT TO FLOOR. AFTER 5 TO 10 SECONDS BRAKE WILL BUILD BACK UP. SOMETIMES BRAKE LOCKS UP AND SLIDES TO THE LEFT. THIS HAS BEEN UNDER INVESTIGATION SINCE 2016, IS OUR GOVERNMENT PLANNING ON GIVING US SOME KIND OF RELIEF FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY. WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG? HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO GET HURT BEFORE YOU MAKE FORD PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. YOU HAVE ALREADY HAD AN ADMISSION THE FAULT WAS CAUSED BY THE HCU BEING COMPOSED OF ZINC WHICH WAS THE MAJOR PROBLEM. VERY EXPENSIVE FIX AND FORD SHOULD EAT THEIR OWN MISTAKE. HELP US FUSION OWNERS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME A NUMBER OF TIMES. I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW CAR AND THE MECHANICS FIX DOES NOT WORK,EVEN THOUGH IT IS A 2 THOUSAND DOLLAR FIX.
BRAKES HAVE GONE SPONGY/SOFT. I HAVE TO PUSH THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO EVEN GET TO STOP AT ALL. IT'S VERY SCARY. I USED TO BE ABLE TO RESET IT, WHEN IT HAPPENED, BY PULLING OFF THE ROAD, PUSHING THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, SHUTTING MY CAR OFF, RESTARTING MY CAR, AND DRIVING AGAIN. THIS LAST TIME, IT WILL NOT RESET. I KNOW MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR THIS, AND I'VE BEEN AWARE OF THE ISSUE SINCE I GOT THE CAR IN 2013. DO WE NEED SOMEONE'S FAMILY TO EXPERIENCE A "FATAL INJURY" BEFORE IT'S RECALLED? IT'S BEEN AN ISSUE FOR A LONG TIME, AND IT'S SAD THAT, PEOPLE'S LIVES AREN'T BEING TAKING SERIOUSLY. WHAT IF YOU GET REAR-ENDED BY A FUSION, LINCOLN OR MERCURY THAT KILLS YOUR CHILD IN THE BACKSEAT, BECAUSE THEIR BRAKES QUIT WORKING. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT I THE MOST CURRENT THAT HAS CAUSED ME TO NOT HAVE WORKING BRAKES IS: ON MONDAY NIGHT, (11/26/18 - AROUND 6P) I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 30-35 MILES AN HOUR, ON JOHN PAUL RD, HEADING TOWARDS SUNSET, TO TAKE A LEFT TO GO HOME, THREE DEER RAN OUT IN FRONT OF MY CAR AND I HAD TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES. AFTERWARDS, MY BRAKES NO LONGER WORKED PROPERLY, I TRIED TO RESET, LIKE I MENTIONED EARLIER, AND IT WOULD NOT WORK. I'VE TRIED REPEATEDLY SINCE THEN, IN HOPES THAT THEY WILL, BUT TO NO AVAIL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE ABS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER (GRAND LEDGE FORD, 6080 E SAGINAW HWY, GRAND LEDGE, MI 48837, (517) 627-8100) WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A NOTICE REGARDING MY TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL RECENTLY AND SINCE HAVE BEEN CONTACTING THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED MY CAR FROM TO GET IT FIXED. UNFORTUNATELY, I KEEP GETTING TOLD THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART AND HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT WILL BE IN. MY HUSBAND WAS EVEN TOLD THAT THE CAR IS STILL COMPLETELY SAFE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE AND I AM STILL DRIVING AROUND WITH UNSAFE AIR BAGS BECAUSE OF THEIR INABILITY TO FIX THE RECALL.
THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALMOST THE WHOLE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT STOPPING THE CAR. WE'VE HAD THE CAR IN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL COSTLY REPAIRS THAT HAVE NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. NOW WE'RE TOLD IT NEEDS A NEW ABS UNIT AND WILL COST AN ADDITIONAL $1100 TO REPAIR. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS, BUT SO FAR NO ACCIDENTS CAUSING DAMAGE. MOST RECENTLY, GOING AROUND A SHARP CURVE ON A RAINY NIGHT, MY HUSBAND SKIDDED AND RAN OFF THE ROAD BEFORE THE BRAKES ENGAGED. THEY HAD BEEN WORKING, AND THE FAILURE WAS SUDDEN.
ON ROUGHLY FIVE OCCASIONS MY BRAKE PEDAL HAS NOT ALLOWED ME TO STOP IN SUFFICIENT TIME. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AFTER HITTING A ROUGH PATCH AND A WET ROAD ON A NORMAL STREET. AFTER PUMPING THE BRAKES IT RESOLVES ITSELF. SOMETIMES MORE QUICKLY THAN OTHER TIMES. FIRST TIME OCCURRED, BRAKES WERE BLED TO REMOVE AIR FROM LINE, THEN MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED AND DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. FORTUNATELY, NO INJURIES DUE TO MY SAFE DRIVING OF DISTANCING FROM PREVIOUS VEHICLES. THE BELLE TIRE CURRENT DIAGNOSES IS THE FAULTY ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. DOCUMENTING LAST TIME HAPPENED: 11/7/18.
TAKATA RECALL - THERE IS NO REMEDY FOR THIS ISSUE AT THIS TIME AND I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 2 YEARS FOR MY CAR TO GET FIXED. THAT IS TOO LONG. USING A RENTAL CAR IN LIEU OF FIXING MY CAR DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. I FEAR FOR MY LIFE AND FOR THE LIFE OF ANY PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. FORD SHOULD REPLACE MY CAR WITH A SIMILAR VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. TO DATE THE AIRBAGS HAVE NOT BEEN USED NOR HAVE THEY FAILED.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 189,000.
BRAKE PEDAL GOES COMPLETELY TO FLOOR AND INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE IS REQUIRED. APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT.

SEVER BRAKES PROBLEMS. CAR HAS BEEN TO 2 MECHANICS. ALL BRAKES, CALIPERS, ROTORS, PADS, CYLINDERS CHECKED. BLEED THE BRAKES AND REPLACED BRAKE FLUID. NOTHING, BRAKES ARE WEAK. CANNOT STOP IN TIME. DANGEROUS.. RECALL.RECALL.RECALL
HAS GOING DOWN HILL (ON CITY STREET) APPLYING BRAKES AND HIT POTHOLE WITH LEFT REAR WHEEL. BRAKES BECAME WEAK AND PEDAL WENT TOWARDS FLOOR. BRAKING CONTINUED TO BE IMPAIRED WITH EXCESSIVE PEDAL TRAVEL AND WEAK BRAKING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED BRAKE DEGRADATION ALTHOUGH PROBLEM RESOLVED ITSELF AFTER PARKING / STARTING CYCLE BEFORE. HAS NOT CLEARED THIS TIME. AFTER SEARCHING WEB, FOUND EA 18-002 WHICH EXACTLY DESCRIBES CONCERN. NEW HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT IS ON ORDER AND I HAVE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER FRIDAY.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED NOTICE OF THIS RECALL IN 2016. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I WILL RECEIVE A LETTER THAT SAYS IT IS IMPORTANT, BUT THAT NO ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO REPLACE IT. THE LAST LETTER SAID SOMETIME THIS YEAR, 2018, I WOULD BE CONTACTED BY FORD TO COME IN TO HAVE IT REPLACED. AND NOW I SEE THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT IN THE PLAY BECAUSE FORD HAS NOT TAKEN THE PROPER ACTION. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MY CAR FIXED AS IT SHOULD BE AND NOT WONDER IF THE AIRBAG WILL EXPLODE WHEN I AM IN AN ACCIDENT AND THEN FORD REALLY NEEDS TO ANSWER FOR THE INJURY THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REACH OUT TO SEE THIS RESOLVED. A COMPANY SHOULD OWN UP TO THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND REPLACE THEM.
TAKATA RECALL (NHTSA RECALL NUMBER16V384). I WAS NOTIFIED BY FORD THAT MY CAR, A 2008 FORD FUSION, WAS SUBJECT TO A RECALL AND THAT FORD WOULD NOTIFY ME TO HAVE THE AIRBAG PROBLEM FIXED AS SOON AS PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. THAT WAS SOME TIME AGO (I'M GUESSING 2 YEARS AGO). I HAVE YET TO BE NOTIFIED THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT THE ISSUE, THEY REPLIED THAT THEY ARE WORKING TO GET THE PARTS AND APPRECIATE MY PATIENCE. IT SEEMS THAT 2 YEARS IS A QUITE LENGTHY TIME FOR PROCURING THE NEEDED PARTS. MY COMPLAINT IS BEST STATED AS A QUESTION: IS FORD DRAGGING ITS FEET REGARDING THIS AIRBAG RECALL IN HOPES THAT I WILL SELL THE CAR BEFORE THE PARTS EVER BECOME AVAILABLE?
THE DOOR HANDLES KEEP BREAKING. THEY ARE MADE OF JUNK PLASTIC AND I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 OUT OF 4 DOOR HANDLES AND THE DRIVER DOOR 3 DIFFERENT TIMES NOW. I ALSO HAVE A FRIEND WITH A 2012 FUSION WITH THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE RECALL THESE CRAPPY PARTS FORD!

TAKATA RECALL MY AIRBAG LIGHT IN MY CAR STAYS ON FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN GOES OFF AND ON. I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL AND NEED TO REPORT THE ISSUE.

VEHICLE BRAKE PEDAL IS SOFT AND OR SPONGY AFTER ABS ENGAGED. PEDAL TRAVELS AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE PEDAL STOPS CAR LATER IN DEPRESSION.
WHEN STOPPING OR SLOWING DOWN (SUCH AS WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT) THE BRAKES BEGAN FEELING SOFT, "MUSHY," AND BRAKING DISTANCE SEEMED TO INCREASE. BRINGING THE CAR TO A MORE ABRUPT STOP REQUIRED INCREASED PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC FOR SERVICING. THE MECHANIC "BLED" THE BRAKES AND ADVISED ME THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) NOT CLOSING PROPERLY AND ALLOWING SMALL AMOUNTS OF AIR INTO THE BRAKE LINE, CAUSING THE BRAKES TO FEEL MUSHY AND REQUIRING MORE PRESSURE THAN NORMAL TO STOP THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING HAD USED MY BRAKES NO PROBLEM I THEN WENT TO STOP QUICKLY AND MY BRAKE PEDAL SUNK ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND FELT LIKE IT HAD NO PRESSURE.I HAD TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE OR I WAS GOING TO SMASH INTO A CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND I HAD PLENTY OF SPACE BETWEEN US BUT MY CAR WOULDN'T STOP. I HAD EXPERIENCED THIS A FEW TIMES LAST WINTER IN THE SLICK ROAD CONDITIONS OF NEW ENGLAND BUT THE PRESSURE WOULD RETURN THE FOLLOWING DAY. BUT THIS TIME NO LUCK I BROUGHT IT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD IT COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH MY ABS SYSTEM. IN DOING RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THEIR HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I AM APPALLED THAT SUCH A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUES HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED BY FORD. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NEW AND HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OPERATOR SINCE. I HAVE A SMALL CHILD AND FREQUENTLY HAVE OTHER CHILDREN IN MY CAR AND TO THINK MY STOPPING SITUATION COULD OF BEEN WORSE AND ALL ALONG FORD HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS YET TO RECALL DUE TO THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT PART. THEY KNOW IT'S FAULTY AND THERE ARE MANY SHOPS AND VIDEOS ABOUT THIS ONLINE. I ONLY FOUND OUT BY DOING RESEARCH NOW THAT I HAVE A PROBLEM AND CAN'T BELIEVE I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT ANY POTENTIAL PROBLEMS. AND ONLY NOW HAVE FOUND OUT THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION ON THIS ISSUE. I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLE AND IT ONLY HAS 97777 MILES ON IT. I COULD OF SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED SOMEONE OR MYSELF. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET ON A RAINY EVENING WHEN I HAD TO STOP SHORT ON SOME PAINTED LINES ON THE ROADWAY, BECAUSE SOMEONE BRAKED SUDDENLY IN FRONT OF ME WHILE DRIVING, AND MY ABS KICKED ON. AFTER THAT, THE BRAKES WENT SOFT AND IT TOOK LONGER TO STOP MY CAR.
ON OCT. 10, 2018, AROUND 3:30-4:00 P.M. ON A BUSY CITY STREET---IT WAS RAINY DAY-- ,I HAD TO LAM ON MY BRAKES TO KEEP FROM HITTING A PERSON WHO STOPPED SUDDENLY IN FRONT OF ME WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED. I HEARD A 'POP' SOUND. AFTER THAT, I DISCOVERED I HAD NO BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. AT FIRST I FIGURED I HAD A MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER PROBLEM OR A LEAK. I HAD A NEW BRAKE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER PUT IN AND THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM WAS NOT THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER. HE CHECKED FOR LEAKS IN THE LINE, AND THERE WERE NO LEAKS. HE SAID IT WAS PROBABLY THE ABS 'AND THAT I SHOULD TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. I DID SO. THEY CHECKED IT AND SAID THE ABS GASKET HAD CRACKED AND THAT A NEW ABS HAD TO BE PUT IN. THE ESTIMATE WAS @ SEVENTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS. I WAS UNHAPPY. I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS MOST HELPFUL. I DETERMINED AFTER RESEARCH THAT AS OF APRIL OF THIS YEAR (2018) SOME ONE MILLION FORD FUSIONS WERE/OR HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED BY THE FED RELATIVE TO BRAKE FAILURES. MOST OF THOSE CARS, HOWEVER, HAD MORE THAN HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES. MY CAR HAS ONLY 57,218.2 MILES, AS PHOTOGRAPHED AND ESTABLISHED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY. MY INSURANCE POLICY WOULDN'T COVER THIS REPAIR BECAUSE IT IS TERMED 'MECHANICAL.' IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE ABS SHOULDN'T HAVE FAILED IN THIS CASE-- A CAR WITH SO FEW MILES ON IT. . ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

TAKATA RECALL IT'S BEEN MORE THAN TWO YEARS SINCE THE RECALL WAS ISSUED. WITH A RECALL FOR SOMETHING CAUSING EXPLOSIONS IN PASSENGER FACES REMAINING UNRESOLVED, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT RESOLVED A TIMELY MANNER! I AM NOT WRITING ABOUT SOME OTHER INCIDENT INVOLVING THE SUBJECT OF THE RECALL, BUT ABOUT THE RECALL ITSELF REMAINING UNRESOLVED. DO WE HAVE ANY OTHER RECOURSE? NOT DRIVING A VEHICLE FOR ABOVE TWO YEARS IS EXTREMELY UNACCEPTABLE, AS IS A KNOWN RISK OF EXPLOSION!
WHEN BRAKING ON A ROUGH ROAD SURFACE WHILE MOVING THE BRAKE PEDAL MOVED TOWARDS THE FLOOR AND WENT SOFT. AFTER SEVERAL APPLICATIONS OF PUMPING THE PEDAL THE FEEL IMPROVED SOMEWHAT BUT DID NOT GET BACK TO NORMAL. ALSO, THE FREE-PLAY DISTANCE OF THE PEDAL TRAVEL INCREASED OVER THE PREVIOUS NORMAL CONDITION. TOOK CAR TO FORD DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, WHICH DID NOT FIX ISSUE. THEY THEN TOLD ME THE ABS HCU NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AWAITING HCU REPLACEMENT.
9/6/18 DRIVING DOWN THE STREET APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION WITH THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNING RED. I RAN OVER A POTHOLE, THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM KICKED IN, AND ALL THE SUDDEN, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING ME TO RUN THROUGH THE RED LIGHT AND NEARLY HIT SEVERAL CARS. HAD I NOT SWERVED HARD LEFT AND INTO THE GRASS MEDIAN, I MAY NOT BE MAKING THIS REPORT RIGHT NOW, AND MY FAMILY MAY BE MAKING FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THIS IS ONE OF MANY. HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD OF THIS WEBSITE AND TOLD TO REPORT THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM IN HOPES THAT FORD WILL PUT A RECALL OUT FOR THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED IF THEY HAVEN'T ALREADY. THEY'VE GRATED THE ASPHALT TO PREPARE IT FOR A NEW LAYER AND ADDING A NEW LANE. IN DOING SO, IT HAS MADE THE LANE YOU DRIVE ON ROUGH. IN FOLLOWING TRAFFIC, I ALWAYS LEAVE AT LEAST ONE TO TWO CAR LENGTHS BETWEEN MY CAR AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. WHEN THE TRAFFIC AHEAD OF ME SUDDENLY STOPPED, MY VEHICLE DECIDED TO KEEP GOING. I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM KICKED IN, AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, LEAVING ME WITH NO BRAKES!! I HAD NOWHERE TO GO, AS THERE WERE ONLY TWO LANES, ONE GOING NORTH, AND ONE GOING SOUTH. I HAD TO GEAR DOWN AND USE MY EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED!!! AS SOON AS I CAN, THIS HUNK OF JUNK, PIECE OF CRAP FORD IS BEING TRADED IN FOR A HONDA!!
