TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS AND APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, FOLLOWED BY NO POWER RESPONSE. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV EXCESSIVELY AND THE RPM'S INCREASED RAPIDLY. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED A DELAY AND A HARD SHIFT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,077. UPDATED 02/02/10 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAS EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH DELAYED ACCELERATION. THE DELAY WAS ALWAYS FOLLOWED BY A DELAYED ROUGH SHIFT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHEN ACCELERATING UPHILL, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS. AS A CONSEQUENCE, HIS RISK FOR A VEHICLE CRASH WAS INCREASED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, HE IS CONCERNED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 200.
TROUBLE STARTING LIKE THE STARTER IS DEFECTIVE, BUT THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE THE PROBLEM. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT JERKS WHEN SHIFTING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THE ENGINE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY STALL WITHOUT WARNING AND LOSE ALL POWER. THE DEALER PERFORMED DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND FOUND THE AIR FILTER WAS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED AND WAS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THERE COULD BE NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE FAILURE WAS ABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,000. UPDATED10/27/10.*LJ
THE HEAD REST ON MY NEW 2010 FORD FOCUS (NOT A FUSION AS NOTED) PROTRUDES FORWARD BEYOND THE TOP OF THE SEAT CAUSING MY HEAD AND NECK TO BE PUSHED FORWARD INTO AN UNNATURAL POSITION WITH MY SPINE. THIS, IN TURN, IS A VERY UNSAFE DRIVING POSITION TO BE IN DUE TO MISALIGNMENT OF MY HEAD, NECK AND SPINE AND CAUSES UNNECESSARY FATIGUE, NECK PAIN AND HEADACHE . IT IS ESPECIALLY AWKWARD AND DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AND LOOK TOWARD THE RIGHT REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHILE BEING FORCED INTO A "CROOK NECK" POSITION BY THE FORWARD PROTRUDING HEAD REST. I PURCHASED TO VEHICLE NEW UNDER THE CASH FOR CLUNKERS PROGRAM AND WITHOUT DRIVING IT. THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE AS I GOT MYSELF INTO AN APPARENT UNSAFE VEHICLE. AFTER DRIVING IT FOR ONLY 40 MILES, I EXPERIENCED NECK PAIN. MY INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE FORWARD PROTRUDING HEAD REST WAS THE PROBLEM. I PROMPTLY NOTIFIED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND WAS ADVISED BY MY SALES PERSON THAT SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE HAVE ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT THESE HEAD RESTS. I THEN NOTIFIED FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICES OF THE PROBLEM AND WAS ADVISED, "THE HEAD RESTS ARE MADE TO OUR SPECIFICATIONS". I INDICATED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SUGGESTED THAT THEY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BEFORE THEY HAVE ANOTHER FIRESTONE TIRE TYPE OF PROBLEM TO DEAL WITH. THE COMPANY REP. THEN PROCEEDED TO HANG UP ON ME. AS A REMEDY TO MY COMPLAINT. THE DEALER (SERVICE MANAGER) REMOVED THE HEAD RESTS FROM THE FRONT SEATS OF MY NEW CAR AND SUGGESTED THAT I, "GO TO A SALVAGE (JUNK) YARD AND TRY TO GET REPLACEMENT HEAD RESTS THAT DO NOT CAUSE THE PROBLEM". I REMINDED HIM THAT I HAD JUST TURNED IN A '93 AEROSTAR THAT DID NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM AND HE REPLIED, "WE JUST SELL THE CARS - WE DON'T BUILD THEM". WITH THE HEAD RESTS REMOVED, I NOW HAVE NO PROTECTION FROM WHIPLASH WHICH IS ANOTHER SAFETY PROBLEM. I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT THE NHTSA INVESTIGATE THESE HEAD RESTS (ASAP) TO PREVENT INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. A RECALL IS NEEDED HERE. THANK YOU *TR
FORD FUSION 2010 S - WHEN THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED THE CAR ACCELERATED UNTIL I DEPRESSED A SECOND TIME MUCH HARDER. THE CONSUMER FIRST BEGAN TO NOTICE THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY NOT START IN AUGUST. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER INSISTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND EVENTUALLY, THEY FOUND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM WAS ATTRIBUTED TO RADIO FREQUENCY INTERMITTENTLY CORRUPTING THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND A NEW GROUND STRIP WAS INSTALLED. THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE RECTIFIED. THE WEATHER STRIPPING SURROUNDING THE REAR WINDOW WAS LOOSE, THERE WAS LOOSE METAL AROUND THE PASSENGER REAR WHEEL. *JB
I FULLY AGREE WITH THE FOLLOWING PREVIOUS COMPLAINT: 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID FRONT SEAT HEADREST/RESTRAINT. THE FRONT SEAT HEADRESTS PROTRUDE FORWARD WELL PAST THE PREFERRED ALIGNMENT OF THE SPINE. THE DRIVER IS COMPELLED TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH HEAD PUSHED FORWARD. THIS POOR ERGONOMICS HAS RESULTED IN NECK AND BACK PAIN, HEADACHES, AND GENERAL DISCOMFORT. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD CONSIDER A REDESIGN AND MAKE SUCH REDESIGN AVAILABLE TO CONSUMERS. THIS SITUATION IS SO BAD THAT I HAVE REVERSED THE POSITION OF THE HEAD RESTS, THUS RENDERING THEM TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE. I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE OR RIDE IN THIS CAR WITH THE HEAD RESTS IN THE NORMAL POSITION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AND LUNGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TWO DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE FAILED TO CHANGE GEARS, SLOWED DOWN INDEPENDENTLY, AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE MORE THAN 25 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. SIX MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
THE HOOD ON MY 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID UNLATCHES ITSELF AT INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SPEED. THE SAFETY CATCH HAS SUCCESSFULLY RESTRAINED THE HOOD FROM FLYING OPEN COMPLETELY. THERE HAVE BEEN FOUR INCIDENTS WITH THREE DIFFERENT DRIVERS SINCE THE CAR WAS DELIVERED. THE DATE BELOW WAS THE FIRST INCIDENT. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID ON MAY 23, 2009 FROM CROWN FORD OF FAYETTEVILLE, NC. ON MAY 27, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE BREAKS SUDDENLY HIT THE FLOOR AND THERE WAS MINIMAL RESISTANCE. I EVENTUALLY BROUGHT THE CAR TO A HALT IN A PARKING LOT. IT WAS TOWED TO CROWN FORD AND THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY AIR IN THE BREAKS AND THE CAR WAS NOW SAFE FOR MY FAMILY. 4 DAYS LATER ON MAY 31ST WHILE I WAS IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE BACK SEAT, THE BREAKS WENT TO THE FLOOR/FAILED AGAIN AND I HAD TO UTILIZED THE EMERGENCY BREAK TO MANEUVER IT TO A SAFE PLACE. CROWN FORD SAID IT WAS THE WIRING THIS TIME. I DO NOT THINK FORD KNOWS WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE IT HAS THIS NEW REGENERATIVE BREAKING SYSTEM. WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT AS SOON AS MY FUSION HYBRID WAS "FIXED" AGAIN, I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND TRADED IT IN FOR A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. I WOULD NEVER PUT MY KIDS BACK IN THAT CAR AND AM WORRIED ABOUT OTHER FAMILIES WHO CHOOSE TO BUY THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD CONTAINED A STRESS CRACK DUE TO THE HEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON APRIL 13, 2009. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER BEING REPAIRED AT THE COST OF $300, WHICH IS HALF OF THE REPAIR BILL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY; THEREFORE, HE HAS TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,300. UPDATED 05/13/09 *BF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONCLUDED THAT A ROCK HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND THE HOT WEATHER CAUSED THE CRACK TO EXPAND. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE WINDSHIELD WAS DEFECTIVE. CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW CAR IS 2010 FUSION HYBRID. NOTICED CRACK IN WINDSHIELD STARTING UNDER REARVIEW MIRROR DO WEST FOR APPROX 3 INCHES. CRACK HASN'T GOTTEN BIGGER. DIDN'T NOTICE AT TIME OF DELIVERY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WHEELS AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL WAS BENT ABNORMALLY. BOTH REAR WHEELS WERE REPLACED BECAUSE THE OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE FRONT ONE HAD NOT. THE DEALER TOLD THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE WAY THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. THE CONTACT DID NOT AGREE AND BELIEVED THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000. UPDATED 02/15/12*LJ UPDATED 02/22/12
SINCE BUYING A NEW 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID, THE HEAD REST/RESTRAINTS FOR BOTH FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS ARE MADE TOO FAR FORWARD AND TOUCH THE BACK OF THE HEAD WHILE DRIVING. ALTHOUGH WE ARE TOLD THEY ARE MADE THIS WAY FOR OUR SAFETY, THEY ARE VERY ANNOYING . THE ANGLE CAN NOT EVEN BE CHANGED AND WE ARE STILL LOOKING TO REPLACE THEM IF WE COULD JUST FIND ONES THAT ARE JUST 1" FURTHER BACK. I HAVE GONE ON-LINE ON THE INTERNET AND SEE LOTS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND WONDER WHY THE NHTSA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL OR EVEN REQUIRED FORD TO PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT FOR A SMALL FEE? THEY BOTHER MY WIFE SO MUCH THAT SHE HAS REMOVED THEM FROM THE SEATS. NOW WE DO NOT HAVE ANY PROTECTION FROM A REAR END COLLISION. *TR
WE RECEIVED THE RECALL ON JUNE 1, 2016, NHTSA RECALL #16V384, WE HAVE YET TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. WE ARE NOT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE THE RISK OF INJURY AS OUTLINED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAS YET TO REPAIR THE ISSUE.
2010 FORD FUSION CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL IS HARD TO SEE IN DAYLIGHT WHEN SHADOWS ARE CAST OVER IT. ALSO THESE FEATURES ARE AT A GREAT ARM REACH. *KB
