ALL OUT MOTORS IN CLIO MICHIGAN KNOWINGLY SELLS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE VEHICLES, TAKES ADVANTAGE OF YOUNG WOMAN WITH [XXX] SON AND TAKES EVERY DOLLAR OF HERS FOR A CAR THAT IS FAR FROM DRIVEABLE AFTER ONLY A C MONTH OR TWO AND HAS BEEN HIGHLY UNSAFE AND UNRELIABLE AND UNPREDICTABLE SINCE PURCHASE, DEALER REFUSED TO PROPERLY RESPOND TO SITUATION AND HARASSED THE MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED IT AFTER PURCHASE WHEN DEALER WAS CONFRONTED ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES. Every time there was any miniscule imperfection in the road, I would lose control of steering and the car would move into other lanes, unable to immediately correct it. Missing lug nut due to stud snapping off, when trying to replace it, all studs also broke off. All bolts in front caliper and caliper brackets also broke off, along with rear caliper snapping 3 days after vehicle purchase. Car is not drivable after having it 3 months. Multiple times while driving on highway the car would malfunction and lose power or steering wheel would lock up. These problems EASILY could've resulted in death and I have a [XXX] son who is always with me. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Lug nuts are all stripped or broken. Check engine light, check fuel fill inlet message, poor driving all around, lack of power. Brake calipers broke off and brake pads fell out. Power steering locks up every once in a while
ABS MODULE IS NOT WORKING. THIS IS HAPPENING TO NOT JUSY MY VEHICLEHOWEVER MANY AS I CAN SEE ONLINE AND WHEN FORD IS TOLD SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH IT THEY SAY ITS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I ALMOST GOT IBTO A VERY BAD ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE BRAKES WENT TO BEING OK TO SPONGY AND HAD TO PUSH TO THE FLOOR TO STOP THIS CAR. SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIX THIS OR IT WILL END IN SOMEONE GETTING SERIOUSLY HURT OR DYING BECAUSE OF THIS SITUATION.
Was driving down the road and lost my power steering, the power steer assist light is going off have absolutely no power steering from all my research this is a well known issue with this year ford fusion but nothing has been done about it. A recall needs to be done this is a major safety issue and could case accidents even fatalities
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after having the vehicle State inspected, he was informed that the State Inspector was able to depress the brake pedal to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed the State inspection. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the ABS module. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 173,000.
The power steering pump completely shuts down and throws a Power Steering Fault Error. When this happens, the car is moved as safe as possible to a safe location, turned off and restarted and the error clears. When the error displays, all power steering is shut off. There is no warning, it operates fine after restart, I have not noticed any correlation as to when it happens, but when it happens, it leaves you in a dangerous position. The dealer has not reproduced the issue, but has heard reports of the issue. I have not been able to reproduce reliably either.
The Fusion has been worked on twice now replacing cylinders, however it was recently discovered that the issue is with the ABS Hydraulic Control unit. The car's pedal would push almost to the floor making the stopping power hazardous out of nowhere. After research on this unit, it appears it was a recall for many Fusions but not specifically for this mode. I am filing a complaint as it appears our specific model has the same issue but is not covered under the recall. We have spent over $1000 to get this replaced and seeking a refund.
Took the Ford Fusion to the local Ford dealer to have the tires rotated. They said they could not remove the lug nuts as they have swelled. It is not possible to change a flat or rotate the tires.
While driving, the power steering goes out and gives a fault saying: "power steering assist fault." I go online to find out that there was a recall for the same vehicle but for the years 2011 and 2012, not the 2010. I also saw that many people are having this issue: either missed getting in an accident (like my situation) or worse.
Car stalled at a stop light on [XXX] where the speed limit is 50MPH. My [XXX] daughter was driving and could not restart the car. When the light turned green she was stuck in the middle of the road and trucks and other drivers where riding right up to her at 60+ MPH before they switched lanes honking and flipping her off. She could have been struck and killed. Took to mechanic after I was able to get on-site and start the car. P1450 Unable to Bleed Up Fuel Tank Vacuum. Was told this is very common with this year of Ford Fusion and Ford knows of the issue. Why not a recall to change the solenoid and purge valve before someone gets killed if they haven't already. The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH, the messages "Service Advancetrac" and "Power Steering Service Now" were displayed, and the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The contact was able to drive to the nearby residence. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the power steering rack and pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA17004 (Steering). The dealer was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 253,000.
As I was driving the vehicle, my ABS and all other brake service lights came on. I stopped driving the car except to take it to the dealership to be assessed and repaired. I had to have a new HCU and ABS module installed as well as brake fluid flush. After driving it off the lot I realized I had to push the brakes all the way to floor and it was still slow to stop. I took it back to the dealership and they bled the brakes again. It still doesn't brake as well as it did before incident. I had these repairs performed in Jan 2024 and recently found out that in April 2021 there was a recall for this same exact problem. I was never notified by mail as I usually am for recalls. I paid for these repairs out of pocket and believe this should have been covered under the recall from 2021. I feel this could've turned out much worse if I had continued driving the car. I would like this to be further investigated as to whether this falls under the recall.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that fuel was leaking from the gas tank. There was a strong odor of fuel detected. The contact became aware of a puddle of fuel on the ground. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V793000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While the contact's mother was driving at approximately 30 MPH, the steering wheel seized, and the "power steering assist fault" message was displayed. The contact's mother struggled to maneuver the steering wheel to the right and while the vehicle was pulled to the side of the road, the vehicle rolled into a ditch. No injuries were sustained. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
The power steering on the car suddenly failed and made it very difficult to steer, especially from a stop. Luckily the failure occurred while the car was parked so did not pose an immediate safety risk to me but certainly could have if it happened while the car were in motion. The entire power steering rack and pinion had to be replaced which cost about $1750. OEM repair parts were not available from Ford. It appears that many same-year model Ford Fusions were part of a recall due to a similar or the same issue; however, once again my model was not included since it has the hybrid powertrain (this is the third such occurrence of a failure of a component on this vehicle that was part of a recall on the non-hybrid models that otherwise contain the same components). There were no advance warnings before the failure. After the failure occurred a message indicating a Power Steering Failure appeared on the dash.
My vehicle will no longer operate in electric mode. This is a major safety concern since there is no assist from the high-voltage battery powered electric drive motor. Upon accelerating from a dead stop, there is a significant lag before the ICE kicks in and provides enough power to move the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the brake pedal would depress to the floorboard before the vehicle would come to a complete stop. The contact also stated that the check engine warning light was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where a code reader determined a defect with the ABS. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Power Steering Assist Fault. This message comes on occasionally when I first start the car. When I turn ignition off and back on, it usually clears up. My car has only 52k miles. Other Ford Fusion years had the same problem. Why were they recalled but not 2010? I’ve taken the car to a mechanic who has told me electronic power steering module must be replaced. I’m waiting for the estimate. $1500-$2500 out of pocket for a known manufacturer defect is unnerving. It first happened in the fall and now happens more frequently.
Never had issues with my car since I had it. But over the past year the cars brakes, if you keep your foot on the pedal, over time it will slowly go closer to the floor. I could stop, but the brakes felt squishy. Biggest problem though is my brakes were working fine, no warning lights, nothing.. Park car turn it off, go into store, come back out and my brakes are not working. The pedal goes right to floor. I had to use my emergency brake to stop. I took car to shop and they said the ABS control module needs replaced. This is a common issue with the 2010 Ford Fusion hybrids.. But there doesnt seem to be a recall on it. He even said when he checked the information there is a recall on that ABS control unit, but when you call Ford, they say my particular VIN number is not covered. This is nonsense, because I am having the same identical issue with the other Ford fusion and cars that have this same exact part in it. When I went to go pick up my car, now the brakes are working. It makes no sense. Will they go out again on me at any given time? This is a major concern and danger to me and those around me if they go out while I am driving. Please make FORD include this VIN number make and model be recalled for the repair. Thank you
There was no incident this happened after. It literally just started a couple months ago out of nowhere. I tried to diagnose it myself. But the code was b-1342-e0 which is an ECU fault. I paid for a diagnostic to find out it was actually the ABS module sending the fault code to ECU. After some research, it appears 2010 fusions had a history of this ABS issue. Not sure why there is no recall, seeing as this could be a life threatening issue.
The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2010 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while the owner was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was leaking fuel. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a fractured fuel tank. The mechanic determined that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V793000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) was performed on the vehicle in July 2017; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. There was no further information provided. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 194,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH and attempting to slow down, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle rolled before coming to a stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed ABS module. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The contact referenced the NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The approximate failure mileage was 129,000.
A FRIEND HAS A 2010 FORD FUSION. SHE LOST THE POWER STEERIING IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE CAR IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE UNTIL THIS PROBLEM IS FIXED. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS MODEL POWER STEERING PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW TO ARRANGE THE RECALL. THANKS [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
A FRIENDS FORD FUSION HAD THE POWER STEERING FAIL WHILE VISITING THE POST OFFICE. IT HAPPENED AT LOW SPEED , HOWEVER THE DRIVER A WOMAN COULD NO LONGER STEER IT. HER BOYFRIEND DROVE IT TO MY HOUSE. IT IS STILL PARKED THERE.
Brakes lose power --- depress all the way and there's no braking power. Almost got into a serious car crash since I literally could not stop (except for using the ebrake). Check engine light is on. This seems to be an incredibly common and dangerous issue with the older Ford Fusions (I have a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid). Only 105k miles. Dealer recommends replacing ABS Module (among other things).
After the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) was engaged, the braking system was spongy, in that the pedal would almost reach the floor before the brakes started working. It has happened several times, but has gotten worse recently, three times in the past six months. One time it happened when I went over a speed bump. I have to be extremely careful when this happens. Once the vehicle sits overnight it seems to clear up. I try not to use the ABS, but it is winter now and this morning someone pulled out in front of me, and I had to use the brakes aggressively. Again, the braking system became spongy. I am hoping by the end of work today it has been remedied for now. After it happens, I am extremely careful about following other cars, for fear of hitting them. It takes longer to stop because of this. I bought the car through the Military overseas program and finding somebody to look at an American car in Korea has been hard. Something is wrong with the ABS.
Hi. I’m the owner of 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. VIN: [XXX] Recently, I almost got crushed while I was driving, because I suddenly could not use brakes…this is happened because of the known ABS issue with this car (I called my mechanic, he diagnosed the issue and it is with ABS Module and it is under a recall and should be fixed by a dealer). However, when I got my car to the dealership, I was surprised that it is not a recall for a Hybrid version of Ford Fusion my year and I have to pay from my own pocket almost $5,000 for part and labor. I do not understand why, it is unfair. This is the known issue for a very long time for so many people. It should be recalled and fixed. You can die while you’re driving!!! Here is one of the topics on a forum about this issue: [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Low beam headlights are so dim I can only see maybe 5' in front of me.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the ABS warning light illuminated and continually activated and deactivated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the hydraulic control assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 144,107.
I've had two issues with the power steering going out while driving, whic is very dangerous. The lug nuts also are fused on. I see recalls for these issues, although it says my vin# is not included. I hardly think I have the exact issues, but somehow they aren't related to these recalls. The date I am providing is the most recent. There was another over the summer
WHENEVER I PUT GAS IN THE CAR I HAVE TO GO EXTREMELY SLOW OR THE FUEL WILL "SPIT" BACK OUT ONTO THE CAR AND GROUND. THIS IS NOT A SAFE SITUATION AT THE PUMP.
Turned car on to go run errands and warning went off in car about power steering assist failure. Lost power steering. This was reproduced at the car dealership, and I did have to drive my car without power steering to the dealership (which was difficult as I’ve always had power steering). They were also able to get the same warning at the dealership. As far as I know component and vehicle inspected at dealership but unknown about manufacture, etc. This was the first time I saw the warning, when the power steering went out.
Brake pedal randomly drops to floor, spongy brakes. Took to local dealer. My vin number is NOT part of recall. No parts are available.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the steering wheel seized. While driving approximately 30–40 MPH, the steering wheel seized. The service power steering system message was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact called the local dealer and was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, Wetzel Ford (4500 National Rd. E., Richmond, IN 47374), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 137,000.
Brakes Failing brakes Not yet No No Going over bumps the ABS got actuated and the brake pedal went to the floor, was mushy. There is a recall but our car does not fall under the dates. Our car manufactured 05/10
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the brakes became inoperable. The brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the power steering assist fault and Service Advancetrac messages were displayed, and the traction control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed and determined that the power steering needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Driving home from the Dr.'s office the vehicle's RPM suddenly began to increase yet the vehicle was not moving faster; the Wrench icon came on, the vehicles Blind Spot Warning came on, the Speedometer went to zero and the vehicle continued to move forward at regular speed. With less than one mile to get home we were able to continue to drive the vehicle. When the vehicle was shifted into reverse to back the car into the garage, the transmission made a loud bang and jerked the car. The vehicle was driven into the garage. The fluids were checked and all are good. The vehicle was then started again and shifted into drive and the loud bang and jerk happened again. The vehicle has not been driven.
The component that has failed is the ABS antilock brake pump. Many Ford fusions of the same year (2010) have a recall for this. However, according to my vin, there is no recall. The antilock brake system completely locked up while driving there were no prior incidents. No brake lights no inclination that the antilock brake pump had any issues. When the antilock brake pump stopped working, it almost caused a serious accident. It was as if, though we were hydroplaning we had no control over the Car. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the car went directly into a field. There was myself, my daughter, my son, and a friend four week old baby in the car!! my son is still having nightmares even though this happened a couple weeks ago! He is autistic and eight years old. This is extremely scary. I had absolutely no control over the car The brake pedal went all the way to the floor. The problem has been reported to the dealer however, even though I have a 2010 it is not reported for a recall. The vehicle component has been inspected by a licensed mechanic. There were no previous morning signs no dash lights no issue with the ABS system at all. The car has been maintained regularly. The car has not been fixed because we didn’t know what the problem was until last week.
Gasoline was leaking from the top of the gas tank down the side of the tank near the passenger side rear tire (opposite side from the fuel filler cap). This was first notice on 10/8/2023. The gas would leak when the tank was filled until approximately 1 gallon had leaked out on the ground underneath the tank. I put a container under the car near the passenger side tire to catch the gas. There was a strong smell of gas inside and around the car. We took the car to the mechanic who said the gas tank had a crack at the top of the tank. The mechanic replaced the tank with a used tank which cost approximately $514.00 total installed. A new tank would have cost approximately $1100.00 installed.
ABS Advancetrac system failure results in extended brake pedal travel required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. The condition does not result in a loss of braking function and the vehicle can be brought to a controlled stop
Hit pot hole and the brake peddle went most of the way to the floor and never changed. It now has a very low peddle. No brake fluid leaks.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the steering wheel became firm which made the vehicle difficult to operate. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was unknown.
On August 31, 2023, my car had break services that included all four breaks replaced and serviced at Ford dealer Oxnard, CA. Today, 9/27/23, on the way to the doctor's office on the local street, about half a block's distance to a Stop sign, the Traction Control System light flipped on and the breaks turned loose and started speeding up toward a women pushing a baby carriage crossing the street. The breaks didn't respond so I quickly turned to the turning lane to avoid hitting that woman and baby carriage. What I wanted to know is, normally, when the TCS fails, the car speed would slow down. But in my situation, the car, as if had a mind of its own, speeding up toward that woman crossing the street pushing a baby carriage! Is the speeding caused by the TCS suddenly turning loose while I had my foot on the break, so released its energy, or is the 2010 Ford Fusion can be installed remote control and remotely manipulated by someone with malicious intention to cause injury? Since this type of situation can impact many drivers and could cause serious injuries to drivers and pedestrians, I ask for a investigation into what could have caused this danger, so to prevent it from happening again. Thanks much! [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The brakes quit working without warning. My foot went straight to the floor before engaging any sort of resistance and the emergency brake was needed to bring the car to a complete stop. I’ve checked the VIN lookup, and there IS a recall for this exact same car, same year and everything, but for some reason my VIN isn’t pulling it up.. it matches the recall currently in file for the 2010 ford fusion brake problems. How do we get ford to expand their recall to actually include all defective vehicles??
My brake pedal went soft after an ABS event and feels soft, it suddenly did this and I almost crashed. It has happened before, but the brakes went back to normal.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated his Godson was driving the vehicle 20 mph when he proceeded to apply the brake pedal, however, the brakes did not engage The vehicle crashed into a wall coming to a complete stop. The brake warning light illuminated after the impact, but the air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and no police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. No diagnosis was made, however, the hydraulic control unit was evaluated and the brakes were bleed, no parts were replaced. The contact stated the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 186,071.
Powering steering assist light came on. In the situation the car was driven and maybe an hour and a half after it had been parked, the power steering assist light came on after trying to drive it again, and the car couldn’t steer at all.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact had turned the vehicle on and as she was reversing (R) out of her driveway at approximately 3 MPH, she felt that the steering wheel had become very stiff, and the steering wheel was difficult to turn to the left or right. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle regained power steering functionality; however, one block from her residence the failure recurred. The contact stated that the steering assist fault warning light was illuminated. The contact returned to the residence and parked the vehicle. The contact stated that subsequent attempts to reset the power steering had failed and the loss of power steering assist had become a permanent failure. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that she attempted to start the vehicle however, the engine failed to turn over. The contact stated that the low tire pressure warning light illuminated, and the fuel gauge displayed 0 miles to empty. The contact stated that her friend refueled the fuel tank however, the fuel leaked out onto the ground. Additionally, the contact stated that she had to have the vehicle jumpstarted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V973000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that previously the recall repair was completed. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
