RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED 2010 FORD FUSION SE 2.5 FOR MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER, AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF OWNING IT, THE CAR WOULD ONCE IN A WHILE POP UP A "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" MESSAGE ON THE INFO DISPLAY, WHEN IT DID THIS IT WOULD DISABLE THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING.. IT DIDN'T MATTER IF YOU WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR IN A PARKING LOT. PULLING OVER, SHUTTING IT OFF, AND RESTARTING WOULD TEMPORARILY CLEAR IT UP, UNTIL THE DAY THAT "STEERING ASSIST FAULT" APPEARED AND NEVER WENT AWAY.. NOW I HAVE A CAR WITH NO POWER STEERING FOR MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER.. TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP, THEY CALLED BACK LATER AND SAID "WE CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE AFTER WE REPLACE THE STEERING RACK IT HAS TO BE FLASHED, AND THAT HAS TO BE DONE AT THE DEALER".. I CALLED THE DEALER, A $1,400 POWER STEERING REPAIR ON A FORD SEDAN? REALLY? THIS ISN'T A HIGH END GERMAN CAR.. WHY ON EARTH WOULD FORD NOT DO A RECALL FOR ALL OF THESE? DO A GOOGLE SEARCH, THIS IS QUITE OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW.
TAKATA RECALL, RECALL LETTER TELL YOU THAT YOU SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR IT MY CAUSE DEATH TO PASSENGERS. THEY PUT YOUR NAME ON A LIST, I WAS TOLD I WAS 20 ON THE LIST AND IT IS TAKING 3 TO 4 DAYS PER PERSON TO GET A CAR THAT IS 60 DAYS.
WAS DRIVING AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP. THERE A KNOWN FACTORY RECALL BECAUSE FORD MESSED UP SOMEWHERE WITH THE STEERING FROM THE FACTORY. I NEED MY CAR REPLACED.
SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON AS I WAS DRIVING. PARKED CAR, WOKE UP NEXT MORNING AND POWER STEERING WAS OUT. EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN STEERING WHEEL.
TAKATA INFLATORS - I BELIEVE. FORD STILL DOESN'T HAVE A WAY TO FIX THE RECALL. IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR A LONG TIME. SHOULDN'T THEY HAVE A FIX BY NOW? NO ACCIDENT OR ISSUE AS OF YET, BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED ASAP!
AT TIMES THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WILL LOCK UP WHILE I AM DRIVING, AND IT MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.
THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR OVER A MONTH DUE TO MY LIMITED INCOME AS A VETERAN I CAN NOT AFFORD TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE AT AN ESTIMATE COST OF $1600. THIS ISSUE IS NOT DUE TO MY NEGLIGENCE.POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE IS THE ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING IT TO WORK IN DALLAS,NC WHEN I EXPERIENCED THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS I MADE A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE. AFTER I STRUGGLED TO GET IT INTO THE PARKING SPACE I ALSO STRUGGLE TO DRIVE IT HOME AS WELL.ONCE I GOT THE VEHICLE HOME I CALLED TINDOL FORD IN GASTONIA,NC REGARDING MY CONCERN I WAS INFORMED THAT I NEED TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AT MY EXPENSE OF $99. THEN IF IT IS THE EPAS (ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM) REPAIR ESTIMATE COST CAN BE ABOUT $1600. THIS VEHICLE SPECIFICALLY HAD A RECALL BEFORE NOT SURE BUT I THINK IT WAS FOR AIRBAG AND OR SEATBELT. WELL SINCE THEN I BORROWED A TEMPORARY VEHICLE FROM FAMILY MEMBER DUE TO REPAIR COST BEING EXPENSIVE. THIS FORD FUSION HAS A TITLE LIEN THROUGH BRIDGECREST, IN WHOM I FINANCE WITH. VEHICLE IS ALMOST PAID IN FULL.THIS ISSUE HOWEVER IS NOT ANY OF NEGLIGENCE BUT MORE SO A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. THE EPAS CONSIST OF A TRW COMPONENT WHICH CONSIST OF EVERYTHING TO THIS FAILURE SUCH AS THE HYDRAULIC THE BELT DRIVE THE DRIVE RACK THE CODER INTERFACE ETC. I HAD A LOCAL MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND THE OBSERVATION MADE WAS IT'S A POWER STEERING ISSUE THAT ONLY MANUFACTURER CAN CORRECT DUE TO THE COMPLEXITY. THE TRW IS A NON SERVICEABLE UNIT. ENCLOSING I ASK THAT YOU PLEASE CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER AND LOOK INTO THE FACTS OF THIS MATTER WHICH IS FAULT OF THE MANUFACTURER. I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP WITH THIS MATTER.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. CROSSROADS FORD OF INDIAN TRAIL (88 DALE JARRETT BLVD, INDIAN TRAIL, NC 28079, (704) 912-0560) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
CRANKED CAR AFTER PARKED IN HOME GARAGE OVERNIGHT AND THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC MESSAGE APPEARED. ABA, BRAKE, AND ADVANCE TRAC LIGHTS ARE ON HUD. CAR ALSO HAS NO POWER STEERING. THE CAR HAS 120400 MILES ON IT AND HAS ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED FOR THIS ISSUE ONE TIME BY A FORD DEALERSHIP. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP AS CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED WITH 67508 MILES.. THE FIRST REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER REPAIR NOTE FROM 1ST INCIDENT: SERVICE DIAG & REPLACE STEERING GEAR & REPROGRAM PSCM & PERFORM ALIGNMENT & TEST OK
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK THE MORNING OF JUNE 28, 2018 THE POWER STEERING IN MY CAR STOPPED WORKING. I ALMOST COULDN'T CONTROL MY CAR. WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE MECHANIC THAT AFTERNOON, WHO THEN INFORMED ME THAT THE ENTIRE EPS SYSTEM HAD FAILED AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. I THEN GOT A CALL THE NEXT DAY STATING THAT IN ORDER TO REPLACE IT THAT I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE BOTH TIE RODS DUE TO THE BEING ATTACHED TO THE EPS SYSTEM. AFTER SPEAKING TO SOMEONE AT A FORD DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY THOUGHT THIS WAS ALREADY UNDER RECALL. LUCKILY WHEN I WAS DRIVING I WAS ONLY GOING 25 MPH IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, IF I WERE GOING ANY FASTER IT COULD HAVE CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
THE POWER STEERING ASSIST HAS BEEN GOING OUT INTERMITTINGLY FOR SOME TIME, HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON IT CORRECT ITSELF. TODAY (JUNE 26, 2018) IT HAS FAILED AND WILL NOT CORRECT ITSELF. THIS HAS HAPPENED BOTH WHEN THE CAR WAS MOVING AND WHEN IT HAS BEEN PARKED.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT MESSAGE SHOWED UP ON DASHBOARD AND POWER STEERING WAS LOST WHEN CAR WAS TURNED ON AFTER BEING PARKED IN A PARKING LOT FOR A FEW MINUTES.
LOST POWER STEERING CAPABILITY WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. WARNING NOTICE AFTER THE FACT: SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT.
THE POWERSTEARING ASSIST FAILED WHILE DRIVING ALMOST WRECKED MY CAR IN TRAFFIC...IT'S A OPEN RECALL ON THE 2011-2012 FORD FUSION BUT NOT ON THE 2010
MY FAMILY HAS HAD THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS BRAND NEW WITH THIS PROBLEM REOCCURRING BOTH AT START UP AND DRIVING IN MOTION! MY SON WAS JUST DRIVING DOWN THE STREET WHEN THE STEERING WENT OUT WHILE HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO GO AROUND A CORNER AND ALMOST HIT SEVERAL PEDESTRIANS AND OTHER CARS! THEN IT CAME BACK ON LATER THEN WENT OUT AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH ARE MTN. ROADS WHERE WE LIVE AND ABOUT WENT OFF A CLIFF! I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCE DOING THE SAME THING WITH ME, (A VERY EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL DRIVER) DRIVING WITH NEAR MISSES DUE TO SAME THING HAPPENING THEN GOING AWAY WITH NO PROBLEM FOR MONTHS IF NOT YEARS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNREAL THAT THERE ARE THIS MANY COMPLAINTS AND ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES DUE TO THIS PROBLEM AND NOTHING DONE TO FIX IT! THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND OTHER YEARS 2011 AND 2012 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM GOT RECALLED EXCEPT FOR THE 2010, ALL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM! IF NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT THIS I WILL BE INCLINED TO MAKE THIS VERY PUBLIC AND HAVE THE RESOURCES TO DO SO! THIS IS NEGLIGENCE ON FORD'S PART AND AND THE NHTSA'S PART FOR NOT ACTING APPROPRIATELY TO THIS WELL KNOWN PROBLEM!
SERVICE ADVANCETRAC MESSAGE POPS UP RANDOMLY ON DASH. POWER STEERING FAILURE OCCURS RANDOMLY, ESPECIALLY WHILE TURNING AT SLOWER SPEEDS, AND IS ACCOMPANIED BY POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE MESSAGE. THE CAR IS VERY HARD TO STEER AT THIS TIME, BUT SO FAR THAT ISSUE IS RESOLVED IF I AM ABLE TO SHUT OFF THE CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN RESTART. THIS STARTED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO BUT MOST RECENT WAS 6/20/18.

TAKATA RECALL I GOT A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT MY GAS TANK LEAKING FUMES. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS FINE AND THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE TO REPLACE IT. I THOUGHT THAT IF THERE IS A RECALL THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE DEFECT THE DATE IT HAPPEN IS WHEN I BOUGHT IT
DRIVING DOWN A EXIT, RAMP, LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I IDLED TO THE PARTS STORE, HAD THE CHECK ENGINE CODE READ, IT INDICATED A THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION. I ORDERED AND THEN REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM

VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AT TIMES AND HESITATE UPON ACCELERATION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED. CARUSO FORD LINCOLN IN LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBLE LEAK IN THE MASTER CYLINDER OR THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS FAULTY. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND STATED THAT THE HYDRAULIC ABS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 122,000.
TAKATA RECALL I CALLED MY MOORESVILLE, N.C. FORD DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE A REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. IT MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE END OF THIS YEAR..2018. MY RECALL LETTER INDICATES THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR AT $30 A DAY AND THE OWNER HAS TO CARRY AND PAY FOR THE INSURANCE ON THE RENTAL VEHICLE. THE RENTAL COMPANY MY FORD DEALER CONTRACTS THROUGH CHEAPEST RENTAL IS $35.00 PER DAY WHICH WOULD LEAVE ME PAYING APPROXIMATELY $140.00 PER MONTH FOR THE RENTAL AND APPROXIMATELY AN EXTRA $50.00 OR MORE A MONTH FOR INSURANCE I AM ALREADY PAYING FOR A AFFECTED VEHICLE PLUS MONTHLY INSURANCE THAT HAS A RECALL FOR A DEFECTIVE RECALL THAT IS NOT MY FAULT! I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND DRIVE MY CAR ON A DAILY BASIS WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN AND LOVED ONES IN MY CAR AND DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE RISK OF DEATH OR INJURY TO ANY OF THEM.. WITH THE AGE OF MY CAR AND THE SUMMER HEAT AND HUMIDITY I DO NOT WANT TO CHANCE THAT! I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING EXTRA FOR A RENTAL FOR A RECALL PUTTING MY FAMILY IN HARM'S WAY OR EVEN DEATH THAT IS NOT MY FAULT! THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY THE ENTIRE COST OF THE RENTAL VEHICLE! IF INDEED YOUR GOAL AND POLICY IS TO MAKE SURE THESE CAR MANUFACTURERS DO THEIR PART TO INSURE MY SAFETY...THEN FORD MOTOR COMPANY NEEDS TO BE TOTALLY ACCOUNTABLE AND PAY EVERYTHING. NONE OF THE COST SHOULD BE PASSED TO THE OWNER OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLE. I CALLED FORD HEADQUARTERS CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH MY CONCERN ABOUT THE DANGER WHICH THEY URGE THE OWNER TO GET THE AIRBAG REPLACED AND NOT DRIVE IT...BUT YET THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AS YET.....AND MAYBE 6 MONTHS OR MORE... & YET WON'T PAY THE TOTAL COST FOR MY FORD DEALER SHIP TO RENT ME A CAR IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS! THEY ESSENTIALLY SAID "SORRY" THAT'S ALL WE ARE ALLOWING $30 A DAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOON ROOF FAILED TO OPEN OR CLOSE AND THE DOORS FAILED TO OPEN. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE THE WINDOW TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (LONG-LEWIS FORD LINCOLN, 2551 JOHN HAWKINS PKWY, HOOVER, AL 35244, (205) 718-7027) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOON ROOF WAS OFF TRACK AND THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPAIRED. THE OTHER FAILURES WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL FORD SENT US A LETTER TELLING US TO GO TO OUR FORD DEALER AND THE FORD WAS TO AUTHORIZE THEM TO PROVIDE US A FREE RENTAL CAR; ALL OF WHICH SEEMS TO MEAN THE ISSUE IS VERY SERIOUS. HOWEVER, ALL THE DEALER IS DOING IS TAKING NAMES, ADDRESSES, AND INFORMATION. THEY REFUSE TO TELL US WHEN WE MIGHT GET REPAIR PARTS OR A RENTAL VEHICLE. CAPITAL FORD LINCOLN AND MERCURY OF WILMINGTON (NC)'S SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T "JUST SEND US DOWN TO ENTERPRISE TO GET A CAR." WHEN I ASKED WHY NOT, HE SHRUGGED. FORD HAS BEEN SELLING NEW CARS AND I PRESUME THEY HAVE AIR BAGS IN THEM. ALL OF WHICH MAKES ME FEEL FORD DIDN'T THINK OUR LIVES ARE WORTH DIVERTING PARTS FROM NEW CARS TO FIX THE ONES THEY DROPPED THE BALL ON IN THE FIRST PLACE. WILL YOU PLEASE DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO GET US HELP? IT WOULD SURELY BE APPRECIATED.
DURING MY NORMAL DAILY COMMUTE I EXPERIENCED A TERRIFYING AND UNANNOUNCED LOSS OF BREAKING POWER. I WAS SIMPLY COMING TO A STOP AT A LIGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND LOST TOTAL BREAK RESPONSE. I NARROWLY MISSED CAUSING A ACCIDENT WITH STOPPED TRAFFIC. I WAS DRIVING RESPONSIBLY IN A LIGHT DRIZZLE WHEN IT HAPPENED. I AM TOLD THE ABS MODULE SENSED LOSS OF TRACTION IN AT LEAST ONE TIRE SO IT KICKED ON. THIS ONLY MADE THE SITUATION A PANIC STOP. THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND BREAKING POWER WAS ONLY ABOUT 10% OF THE NORMAL FEEL. AFTER THIS EVENT THE BREAKS NEVER REGAINED THEIR POWER AND HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO SERVICE. THE SERVICE CENTER TOLD ME THIS IS SOMEWHAT COMMON AND THEY COULD FIX THE ISSUE, $1600 LATER I HAVE A NEW ABS MODULE AND THE BREAKS WORKS BETTER BUT NOT 100% OF WHERE THEY WERE BEFORE. I HAVE HEARD OF SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE'S STORIES SINCE THIS EVENT AND ALL ARE THE SAME ISSUE. THE EVENT WAS SUCH A UNANNOUNCED AND TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE I WILL BE SELLING THE CAR. I AM A 35, PERFECT DRIVING RECORD, DRIVE 20K MILES+ EVERY YEAR AND NEVER EXPERIENCED A SITUATION LIKE THIS WHERE I WAS HELPLESS. AND KNOWING THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM IS APPALLING.

"TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FEBRUARY 2018 STATING THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIES WHEN PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE SINCE THEN RECEIVED A LETTER STATING PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE, AND FORD IS OFFERING RENTAL CARS UNTIL PARTS DO BECOME AVAILABLE. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS SOLVED FOR A WEEK NOW, AND MY LOCAL FORD DEALER JUST KEEPS SAYING THEY WILL GET BACK TO ME. THIS IS MY ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION, AND I HAVE TWO KIDS THAT TRAVEL IN THIS CAR WITH ME. I FEEL LIKE EVERYDAY DRIVING IN THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE, IS A THREAT TO ME AND/OR MY CHILDREN, AND NOTHING IS GETTING RESOLVED, DUE TO AN OVERWHELMING LIST, BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY EVERYTIME I DRIVE.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOST ELECTRIC STEERING CONTROL AND TWO CODES APPEARED ON THE DASH - SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELLING AT 65ISH WHILE COMPLETING A SLOPING TURN ON THE CAPITAL BELTWAY, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND REQUIRED EXTENSIVE ARM FORCE TO REMAIN IN CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS SAFELY MOVED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE.
LOSS OF FULL CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. SERVICE POWER STEERING/SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK WARNING CAME ON AND WILL NOT GO AWAY. I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SAFELY AS I DO NOT HAVE FULL CONTROL OF STEERING. I NEARLY HAD AN ACCIDENT STRONGARMING THE VEHICLE OFF THE HIGHWAY AFTER LOSS OF POWER STEERING.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM WENT OUT ON MY 2010 FUSION SE. IT'S BEEN DIAGNOSED AS A RECALL ISSUE FOR THE 2011 AND UP. FORD SOME MANAGED TO GET AROUND THE RECALLING THE 2010'S THE PROBLEM COSTS AROUND 2K TO FIX. I'M UNABLE TO USE MY CAR UNTIL I CAN RAISE THE MONEY TO FUND A REPAIR I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR. THERE ARE OVER 800 COMPLAINTS ON THE 2010 FUSIONS AND A RECALL ON THE FOLLOWING YEAR FOR THE SAME PROBLEM...WHAT GIVES HERE NTHSA? I NEARLY HAD A WRECK WITH THIS ISSUE?
MY CAR HAS A PROBLEM HANGING UP WHEN YOU ACCELERATE. THIS IS MY SECOND TRANSMISSION. FIRST ONE WENT OUT AT 41,000 AND I HAD TO GET A NEW ONE. THE CAR HAS A TOTAL OF 109,000 ON IT AND I THINK THIS TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT. IT HANGS UP WHEN YOU ACCELERATE SO I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT HOW I ACCELERATE .SO THAT THE GEARS WILL CHANGE. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT HAS BEEN SLIPPING FOR AT LEAST THE PAST 10,000 MILES, I AM WORRIED THAT IT WILL GO OUT AGAIN. THE LAST TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IN DALLAS TEXAS. WE ALMOST DIED IN THAT INCIDENT. THE CAR WOULDN'T GO AND STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. I AM WORRIED THAT THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. THIS PROBLEM STARTED LAST YEAR IN EARLY PART OF 2017 AND IS ONGOING
I TURNED IN MY FORD FUSION AFTER ALL THE GAUGES STOPPED MOVING AND I LET THE COMPUTER TURN ON. WHEN I DID THIS THE WARNING ABOUT SERVICE ADVANCED TRAC BLINKED ON AND SAID POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. I TURNED OFF MY VEHICLE AGAIN AND SAME THING. THE ERROR CODE HAS NOT GONE AWAY AND MY VEHICLE NO LONGER HAS POWER STEERING.
THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NO LONGER OPENS THE DOOR. YOU MUST ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND REACH OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. THIS OCCURRED JUNE 2018 AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET OUT OF MY CAR AT MY HOME. WHILE DOING RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM I NOTICED THAT MANY FUSION OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. ADDITIONALLY, OTHER FORD VEHICLES(2013-15 FORD CMAX & FORD ESCAP, 2012-15 FORD FOCUS, 2015 FORD MUSTANG & LINCOLN MKC AND 2014-16 FORD TRANSIT CONNECT) HAVE A DOOR LATCH RECALL BUT NOT THE FUSION. IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU ARE UNABLE TO OPEN THE CAR DOOR IN A NORMAL WAY.

I CALLED FORD AND TWO SEPARATE PEOPLE TOLD ME THE CAR WAS SAFE FOR THE DRIVER BUT NOT FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER. HOW CAN THEY BE SURE OF THIS? MEANWHILE, THEY OFFER UP TO $30/DAY FOR A RENTAL CAR. THIS IS GOOD UNTIL I FIND OUT THROUGH TWO DEALERSHIPS THAT THE LEAST EXPENSIVE CAR AVAILABLE IS $35 INCLUDING TAXES. TO RECAP: 1. FORD SAYS THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE FOR THE DRIVER ONLY. 2. FORD WILL PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR OF UP TO $30/DAY EVEN THOUGH THE CHEAPEST IS $5 MORE OR $150/MONTH OUT OF MY POCKET. 3. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED/KILLED BY THIS DEFECT. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS OTHER THAN JEPORDIZING THE SAFETY OF ME AND MY FAMILY? PAYING $150/MONTH IS NOT AN OPTION AND WHEN WILL THE PART BE READY? WHY CAN'T FORD GO THE EXTRA MILE AND FULLY COVER THE RENTAL? I WAS A FEDERAL AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER FOR 31 YEARS. I AM VERY KEEN ON SAFETY RISKS AND THIS IS NOT ONE I AM WILLING TO TAKE. PLEASE HELP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE STEERING FREEZES WHEN WE ARE DRIVING AND WE CANNOT TURN THE CAR. IT IS VERY SCARY SO ARE NOT DRIVING THE CAR NOW. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT WOULD BE $2000 REPAIR.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY AIRBAGS AROUND JUNE 2016. I HAVE STILL NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED (MAY 2018) BECAUSE THE RECALL STATUS IS: "REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG AND I DON'T FEEL LIKE MY CAR IS SAFE UNTIL THIS IS TAKEN CARE OF.
THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM FOR WHICH 2011-2015 FORD FUSIONS WERE RECALLED IS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR 2010. I AM REPLACING MY RACK AND PINION AS A RESULT OF A TOTAL POWER STEERING FAILURE. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN LOSS OF LIFE DURING THE FAILURE. THERE WAS NO WARNING THAT THE POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL, AND CLEARLY WAS A PROBLEM ON MODEL YEARS INCLUDING AND FOLLOWING THIS ONE, BUT 2010 WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. COST TO REPAIR IS $1700+
TAKATA RECALL. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT IT IS TAKING FORD AN INORDINATE LENGTH OF TIME TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A REMEDY TO THIS RECALL. IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS, AND THERE IS NOTHING TO BE DONE. THE ONLY THING THEY SAY TO DO IS NOT HAVE ANYONE RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT-THAT IS A RIDICULOUS ANSWER FOR A PERIOD OF 2 YEARS. IT IS CLEAR THIS IS NOT A PRIORITY FOR THEM--THEY SOLD THEIR CARS AND NOW WANT TO SELL MORE.

MY WIFE DROVE TO GET MY TIRES CHANGED AND WHEN SHE GOT TO THE WALMART AUTO CENTER TO CHANGE THE TIRES THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY SHE HAD MADE IT TO THE AUTO CENTER AND WASN'T INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT IN THE PARKING LOT, HOWEVER SHE WAS IN MOTION. MY WIFE IS 5 MONTHS PREGNANT AND ITS TERRIFYING TO KNOW THAT SHE COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED TO A MOVING ACCIDENT WITH A VEHICLE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL OF THE 2011-2013 FORD FUSIONS. AS MANY OTHERS HAVE STATED, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT DUE TO THE FAULT THAT IS INHERENT WITH THE EPAS SYSTEM OF THE FORD FUSION. AS SUCH I HAD TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALER TO FIGURE OUT A REPAIR. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME $1600 FOR THE REPAIR THAT I DON'T HAVE AT THE MOMENT. I WILL HAVE TO GET MY CAR REPAIRED AS I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER OPTION. ONCE AGAIN THIS VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM, I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THIS ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED IN THE FAVOUR OF THE CUSTOMER.

AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS COULD BE THE ETB ASSEMBLY AND THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I DO NOT KNOW WHY FORD HAS NOT RECALLED IT YET RATHER THAN OFFERING THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. I HAVE AN APPT TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP ON SATURDAY. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND WE SHOULDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY DIAGNOSTICS. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME WHILE DRIVING I WILL SUE.
