2 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS THE DASHBOARD DISPLAYS A WARNING "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". COST IS VERY EXPENSIVE, 2010 FORD FUSIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. THE CAR WAS JUST BEING STARTED WHEN THIS WARNING CAME ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME INOPERABLE. ALSO, THE STEERING WHEEL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING ALARM SOUNDED, WHICH CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY FORD (1830 GRAND RIVER AVENUE, OKEMOS, MICHIGAN 48864, PHONE (888) 836-5315) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR ELECTRONIC SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE 2010 FORD FUSION WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTED REPAIR FOR THE STEERING WHEEL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WITHOUT STOPPING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE AND PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,000.
THE WRENCH LIGHT COME ON AND I LOST ACCELERATION. VERY HAZARDOUS SITUATION. THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS REPLACING. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL OUR DEALER PUT US IN A RENTAL THE END OF JULY 2018, WHICH IS GREAT TO PROTECT US FROM THE AIRBAG. BUT I AM BEYOND FURIOUS THAT I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT I CANNOT EVEN ENJOY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I THINK FORD NEEDS TO MAKE THE SITUATION RIGHT. THEY NEED TO BUY BACK THE VEHICLE AND PUT US IN ANOTHER VEHICLE FOR THE SAME PRICE. SO THE RECALL OCCURRED LATE LAST YEAR 2017/ EARLY 2018 AND THEY ONLY PUT US IN A RENTAL IN JULY. WHAT IF SOMETHING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED BEFORE THEN. BEYOND DISGUSTED!
I WAS TERRIFIED WHEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT WITHOUT WARNING WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMIN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. I HAD TO PULL THE STEERING WHEEL SO HARD TO REFRAIN FROM GOING INTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFICS LANE THAT I STRAINED MY SHOULDER, CAUSING PAIN AND DISCOMFORT. WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE FORD DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THE REPAIR OF MY ISSUE WOULD COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. THIS ISSUE IS NOT CAUSED FROM USER ERROR IT IS FROM POOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING FROM FORD. THIS PRODUCT MALFUNCTION COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO LOOK INTO THIS FAULTY PRODUCT BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE BURDENED WITH A BILL OF THIS MAGNITUDE. THIS SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF FORD PRODUCED A PRODUCT THAT WAS SAFER.

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE A 2010 FUSION WITH A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I AM TOLD THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO REPAIR IT SO I DO NOT HAVE FULL USE OF MY VEHICLE SINCE I CAN NOT USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. RECEIVED RECALL LETTER DATED JANUARY 11, 2018 AND 8 MONTHS LATER THERE HAS BEEN NO FOLLOW UP WITH A SOLUTION, NO UPDATES, NO INFO. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE WITH A RECALL DUE TO A DEFECT THAT MAY CAUSE HARM, INJURY, OR DEATH IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE MY CAR GAVE ME AN ALARM SAYING I NEEDED TO HAVE MY POWER STEERING SERVICED NOW. I LOST POWER STEERING. TOOK IT IN TO DEALER WHO RAN DIAGNOSTICS. THEY SAID IT TOOK THEM AWHILE TO GET ANYTHING TO REGISTER AND DID SAY IT WAS A STEERING RACK BUT THEN IT DISAPPEARED AND THE POWER STEERING WORKED AGAIN. THEY TOLD ME IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. YESTERDAY WHEN DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AGAIN, SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED, ALARMS WENT OFF AND MY POWER STEERING IS OUT AGAIN. I SEE ISSUES RELATED TO THE POWER STEERING AND ARTICLES SAY THE 2010 FORD FUSION IS ONE OF THE, YET IT WASN'T RECALLED! I'LL BE CALLING THE FORD DEALER AGAIN,BUT I WON'T PAY WHAT THEY TELL ME TO FIX REPLACE THIS.
VEHICLE MAKES POPPONG SOUNDS WHEN CAR TURNS TO SIDE
MY 2010 FORD FUSION LOST ALL ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING 45 ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY 12 YR OLD AND 1 MONTH OLD IN THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING MY STEERING SEIZED UP AND I HAD TO USE ALL EXTRA FORCE TO TURN OFF THE HIGHWAY. THANK GOD TRAFFIC WAS EASY AND I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS CAME ON SAYING TIRE PRESSURE LOW, SERVICE POWER STEERING AND ADVANCED TRAC WARNING. MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE ABOUT THE 2010 FORD FUSION. HOWEVER A RECALL HAS ONLY BEEN ISSUED FOR THE 2011-2012 MODEL FOR THE SAME EXACT ISSUE THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH THE 2010 AS WELL. THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER. IT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS NOT ONLY TO US AS THE DRIVERS BUT EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. VERY UNSAFE! HOPEFULLY A RECALL IS GIVEN FOR THE 2010 MODELS AS WELL, BEING THAT IT IS THE SAME EXACT ISSUE FOR A YEAR LATER AND ABOVE.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE APPROPRIATELY AND THEN WOULD NOT BE IN GEAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED SENSORS ETC. THEY HAVE IDENTIFIED THAT THE STEERING RACK AND PINION WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN I RESEARCHED THIS I FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THAT A RECALL HAD IN FACT BEEN INSTITUTED FOR 2011 AND NEWER MODELS. THIS IS A PROBLEM IN VEHICLES FROM 2010 AS WELL. THERE IS NO REASON OWNERS OF 2010 MODELS SHOULD HAVE TO PAY THE EXPENSE TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE FAILURE WHEN NEW MODEL OWNERS DO NOT. THE PART ITSELF (FOR AFTERMARKET) COSTS $1000.

THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. FORD RECALL 15S34 APPLIES TO FORD FUSIONS WITH 2.5 OR 3.0L ENGINES WITH MODEL YEAR 2010-2011, ASSEMBLY PLANT OF HERMOSILLO, AND BUILD DATES BETWEEN JULY 21, 2008 THROUGH MARCH 4, 2011. MY VEHICLE MEETS ALL OF THOSE CRITERIA, HOWEVER, ITS VIN IS NOT LISTED AS ONE OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. THIS IS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE MY AUTO SHOP HAS DETERMINED A FAILURE IN THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE OF THE EVAP SYSTEM AS IS DESCRIBED IN THIS RECALL NOTICE. MY CAR MEETS ALL OF THE CRITERIA AND HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS THIS RECALL. WHY IS IT NOT LISTED ON THE VIN LIST? THIS IS PREVENTING MY CAR FROM BEING COVERED UNDER THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME VEHICLE, MODEL YEAR, BUILD DATES, AND ASSEMBLY, AND HAS THE LISTED ISSUE. CAN THIS BE CORRECTED?
TAKATA RECALL. I'VE SPOKEN WITH TWO FORD DEALERSHIPS, GREENWAY FORD IN ORLANDO ON 12/23 AND NORRIS FORD IN BALTIMORE ON 1/11, BOTH OF WHOM STATED THAT THERE AREN'T ANY AIRBAGS IN INVENTORY. OTHER SITES SEEM TO SUGGEST THE INVENTORY PROBLEM SHOULD BE SOLVED BY NOW. I RECEIVED MY NOTICE OF A RECALL MONTHS AGO. MY PARENTS DRIVE A NISSAN VERSA, AND THEIR NISSAN DEALERSHIP JUST GAVE THEM A RENTAL CAR TO DRIVE UNTIL THE PART COMES IN.

THE WARNING CHIME SOUNDED EVERY FEW SECONDS AND THE GAUGES WENT UP AND DOWN RANDOMLY. DROVE 2 MILES HOME WITH THIS CONTINUING. TURNED OFF ENGINE AND RESTARTED TO HAVE THE SAME THING HAPPEN AGAIN. TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED TWO LETTERS IN THE MAIL FROM FORD DISCUSSING THE NEED TO RECALL AND REPLACE THE AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE, DATED APPROXIMATELY FEBRUARY AND MARCH 2018. THE LETTERS INDICATED THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED AT A LATER DATE AS TO WHEN AND WHERE I COULD TAKE MY VEHICLE TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED. SINCE THEN, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY DOCUMENTATION OR UPDATES ON THE MATTER AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY DIRECTION ON REPLACING MY AIRBAGS. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR NOW SINCE FORD HAS ISSUED THIS RECALL AND THEY STILL HAVE DONE NOTHING.
TAKATA RECALL? RECALL ISSUED 11 MONTHS AGO AND STILL SHOWS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE
INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING - THE BATTERY INDICATOR WILL COME ON AND I WILL SUBSEQUENTLY LOSE POWER STEERING. IF I POWER OFF THE VEHICLE, THE INDICATOR GOES AWAY AND POWER STEERING RETURNS THE NEXT TIME I TURN IT ON. THE ISSUE WILL RESURFACE, AND IT IS NOW HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT CAUSED A RECALL IN THE 2011 AND 2012 MODELS, HOWEVER, MY MODEL IS THE 2010.
STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING. I LOST STEERING ASSIST WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE, VERY DANGEROUS. THE VEHICLE WAS VERY HARD TO CONTROL ESPECIALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS. WAS DRIVING AROUND TOWN 45 MPH SPEEDS STEERING ASSIST DID NOT RETURN. HAD TROUBLE CODE U3000 PULLED FROM COMPUTER, AND FOUND OUT THAT THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.

MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AND POWER STEERING STOPPED. LIGHT CAME ON SERVICE POWER STEERING. NEEDLESS TO SAY A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR HER AND FOR EVERY ONE AROUND HER. 55000 MILES AND HAD 6 RECALLS. THIS TO SHOULD BE BECAUSE IF SHE HAD BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH I COULD HAVE LOST HER YESTERDAY SO SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

"TAKATA RECALL" - 16S26 2ND NOTICE I RECEIVED A LETTER IN JANUARY THAT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN SPRING 2018 AND IT GIVES A WARNING OF NOT LETTING ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THIS CAR NOW BELONGS TO MY 17 YEAR OLD SON AND AM CONCERNED FOR HIM AND THE FACT THAT HE TAKES HIS SIBLINGS TO SCHOOL AND OTHER PLACES. I THINK FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC WHO HAS THESE VEHICLES, FORD NEEDS TO PROVIDE LOANER CARS. I SENT A COMPLAINT TO YOU IN OCTOBER 2017 AND HAVE HEARD NOTHING. THIS RECALL IS DANGEROUS!!! AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED BETTER AND FASTER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. WHEN THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE, THE STEERING ABILITY RETURNED TO NORMAL. WHILE IN TRAFFIC, THE KEY HAD TO BE TURNED IN THE IGNITION SEVERAL TIMES TO REGAIN STEERING FUNCTION. THE CONTACT DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE HIMSELF AND LOCATED A FAILURE CODE AT THE STEERING WHEEL RACK. THE STEERING WHEEL RACK WAS NOT REPLACED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
TAKATA RECALL WE CALLED A FORD DEALERSHIP IN CHARLOTTESVILLE (EDDINS) REGARDING THIS RECALL AND NO ONE CALLED BACK. IT IS A GREAT INCONVENIENCE TO NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE A PASSENGER RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT OF A SMALL SEDAN. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN NO IDEA OF WHEN THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED. WE BOUGHT THIS USED CAR LAST FALL AND AT THAT TIME WHEN WE RESEARCHED THE CAR BEFORE PURCHASE WE WERE TOLD THERE WERE NO ACTIVE RECALLS ON THIS CAR.
