TAKATA RECALL - THERE IS A RECALL SINCE JANUARY, 2018 FOR THE AIRBAGS ON MY DAUGHTERS CAR AND I CALLED AND THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COULD EXPLODE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO SUPPLY THE PARTS?

MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL FROM THE INSIDE. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS PARKED. YOU CAN ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW (IF IT'S NOT FROZEN SHUT) AND REACH TO THE OUTSIDE TO UNLATCH FROM THE HANDLE. THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE.
WE WERE DRIVING THE CAR THIS MORNING AROUND 5:30 AM GOING AROUND 50 MPH AND THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE CAR AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE NOW. YOU COULD BARELY TURN THE WHEEL GOING AT THAT SPEED. DASH SAYS SERVICE POWER STEERING BUT SHOWS NO CODES ONCE HOOKED UP.
TAKATA RECALL. FORD IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION AT THIS TIME. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I NEED AN ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE SUPPLEMENTAL FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. THIS DEFECT REPORT IS IN RESPONSE TO TAKATA DIRS 16E-042, 16E-043, 16E-044. RISK TO SAFETY: THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE SUPPLEMENTAL FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. THIS DEFECT REPORT IS IN RESPONSE TO TAKATA DIRS 16E-042, 16E-043, 16E-044. REMEDY PROGRAM: OWNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL AND INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLE TO A FORD OR LINCOLN DEALER TO HAVE THEIR PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED. THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE. STATUS: 12 - RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE.
COMPLAINT INVOLVING FORD FUSION TIRE BOLTS AND LUG NUTS (2010 MODEL). THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE TIRE BOLTS BREAK (3 ON THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE AND 2 ON THE FRONT LEFT SIDE). THE VEHICLE FRONT TIRE BOLTS AND LUG NUTS WERE FIXED BY THE ORIGINAL FORD DEALER FOR THE A RECALL FOR THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE RIGHT AFTER WE PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2010. WE'VE RECENTLY NOTICED A DIFFERENCE DRIVING (BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY) AND TOOK IT IN FOR NORMAL MAINTENANCE AND THE EXACT SAME ISSUE HAS AROSE AGAIN IN THE EXACT SAME LOCATION. FORD DEALERSHIP DOESN'T HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL RECALL ON THIS SAME ISSUE, HOWEVER WE'VE READ THAT THERE IS A LAWSUIT IN MI REGARDING SWOLLEN LUG NUTS AND WONDER IF THIS IS RELATED. FURTHER DOCUMENTATION WILL BE COLLECTED ONCE OUR REPAIR IS PAID FOR.
THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILS AS THE POWER STEERING MODULE FAILS TO COMMUNICATE. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT COULD HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING WHICH COULD EASILY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. LUCKILY, MY CAR HAD BEEN PARKED WHEN I DISCOVERED THE ISSUE BUT QUITE A FEW PEOPLE HAVEN'T BEEN AS FORTUNATE. THEY'VE RECALLED MODEL YEARS 2011-2014 BUT THE DEFECT IS PRESENT IN THE 2010 MODELS AS WELL YET THEY WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL.

DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT HEATER MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING SEAT LINING MATERIAL TO IGNITE AND BURN HOLE IN SEAT LEATHER AND UNDERLYING MATERIAL. ALSO SCORCHED DRIVER'S COAT AND PRODUCED ACRID SMOKE. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET. DRIVER WAS WEARING HEAVY WINTER COAT AND SO DID NOT FEEL THE HEAT IMMEDIATELY.
THE SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING & THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE, I COULD HARDLY TURN THE WHEEL! THANKFULLY IT DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, BUT NOW I'M ABOUT TO INCUR SOME HEFTY EXPENSES TO HAVE IT REPAIRED!
I WAS BRAKING ACROSS ROUGH (EXPERIENCE 1: MARCH 2017) AND ICY (EXPERIENCE 2: DECEMBER 2017) TERRAIN WHEN MY ABS REACTED TO THE SITUATION. AFTER BOTH EXPERIENCES, MY BRAKES BECAME "SQUISHY" AND I WAS UNABLE TO GET A COMPLETE IMMEDIATE STOP. IT TOOK LONGER TO BRAKE, AND I HAD TO PUSH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO COME TO A COMPLETE HALT. AFTER PUTTING THE CAR INTO PARK, AND TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN, THE SQUISHY BRAKES REMAINED. THE ONLY WAY TO GET A FULL COMPLETE STOP NOW IS TO PUMP THE BRAKES CONTINUOUSLY AS I AM BRAKING. IT SEEMS THAT WHEN THE ABS PUMP GOES OFF, THE OPEN VALVE GETS STUCK OPEN CAUSING THE BRAKE FLUID TO CIRCULATE THROUGH THE PUMP. PUMPING THE PEDAL HELPS, BUT DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
ME AND MY DAUGHTER WERE ON THE WAY TO GO CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AND A WARNING SIGN CAME ON WITH A CAUTION SOUND SAYING POWER STEERING SERVICE NOW AND NOT EVEN 2 MINUTES LATER AS WE PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME SO TIGHT I COULDN'T TURN IT TO PARK AND WAS STRANDED AT A WALMART. I THANK GOD IT DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING A NORMAL SPEED. THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS FORD! I SEE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND I HOPE THIS WILL BE FINANCIALLY COVERED BY YOUR COMPANY EVEN THOUGH I DON'T SEE THE RECALL ON MY 2010 BUT IT'S HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE OTHER YEAR MODELS 🤔
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FOR MY FORD FUSION 2010 REGARDING THE AIRBAGS
POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHEN STARTED VEHICLE- HAVE NO POWER STEERING NOW
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WARNING LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO WHILE I WAS DRIVING, TURNED CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND IT DISAPPEARED. THE NEXT DAY IT REAPPEARED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND NEVER TURNED BACK OFF, LUCKILY WAS DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOME & WASN'T IN DANGER OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. NOW ALONG WITH THAT WARNING LIGHT CAME SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, PAID $129 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS GOING TO COST ME NEARLY $2,000 TO GET MY CAR FIXED. WHY WAS THE RECALL FOR THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE ONLY FOR 2011-2013 MODELS OF THE SAME EXACT CAR WITH THE SAME EXACT PARTS?!?!!?!?
TAKATA RECALL FOR MY CAR WAS NEVER REPLACED, CAUSE V & H AUTOMOTIVE, INC. NEVER GOT ANY AIR BAGS TO REPLACE IN ANY OF THE FORD CARS PER THEM AS OF 12-15-2017. SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS PROBLEM?

MY POWER STEERING WAS INTERMITTENTLY GOING OUT WHILE IN PARK OR WHILE DRIVING OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. IT BEGAN OCCURRING DAILY OVER THE PAST MONTH, AND NOW HAS PERMANENTLY GONE OUT.
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A MAIN HIGHWAY, THE "POWER ASSIST STEERING FAULT" WARNING CAME ON AND I WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE. I WAS FORCED TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. I AM LUCKY THAT THIS DID NOT OCCUR WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
AS I WAS DRINGING AT 45 MPH THE SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND SERVICE ADVANCTRAC ALSO CAME ON. I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND HAD TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT. I GOT IT BACK HOME , DRIVING AT A SLOWER SPEED.
I HAD ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR 6 MONTHS BEFORE 3 OF THE 4 INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BROKE. NOW, IN ORDER TO GET OUT OF THE CAR, I MUST PUT THE WINDOW DOWN, REACH OUT AND OPEN THE DOOR, AND THEN PUT THE WINDOW BACK UP. THIS HAS ALSO AFFECTED SEVERAL COWORKERS THAT HAVE 2010 FORD FUSIONS AS WELL. THEY APPEAR TO BE MADE VERY CHEAP USING PLASTIC. THAT ISN'T GOING TO WORK AND NEED IT TO BE MORE RELIABLE FOR LONGETIVITY PURPOSES. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IF IT HASN'T ALREADY BEEN. FIRST, THE METALLIC COVERING PARTIALLY CAME OFF 1 OF THE HANDLES CAUSING IT TO CUT MY HAND. THE OTHER 2 HANDLES ARE DEALING WITH THE SPRING BREAKING.

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL AWAY FROM A GAS PUMP AT A FILLING STATION, MY POWER STEERING ABRUPTLY QUIT WORKING AND A WARNING CAME UP ON MY SCREEN SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT POWER STEERING ASSIST. THE VEHICLE IS A 2010 FORD FUSION. IT PLACED ME IN A VERY DIFFICULT AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE IT WAS DURING RUSH HOUR AT THE STATION. THIS LACK OF POWER STEERING INCREASED THE CHANCE OF A VEHICLE CRASH OF SOME KIND. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW FROM A DEALER IN TOPEKA, KS. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 40,000 MILES AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I AM A RECENTLY WIDOWED 70 YEAR OLD WOMAN WEIGHING LESS THAN 100 LBS AND I CANNOT TURN A VEHICLE WITHOUT POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE REQUIRED REPLACING THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY COSTING ME $1,266.33. THIS SAME ISSUE WAS RECALLED FOR 2011 AND 2012 FORD FUSIONS, BUT NO RECALL FOR 2010. PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY A RECALL WAS NOT ALSO DONE FOR 2010 FUSIONS SINCE THE ISSUES WERE IDENTICAL REGARDING SHUT DOWN OF POWER STEERING. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SEND THE INVOICE WITH THIS COMPLAINT, BUT CAN SEND IT SEPARATELY IF POSSIBLE
TAKATA RECALL THE RECALL WAS ISSUED OVER ONE YEAR AGO AND NO REMEDY IS STILL AVAILABLE. IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS, I WOULD WANT MY AIRBAGS TO WORK PROPERLY. WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG FOR FORD TO FIX IT'S CUSTOMER'S VEHICLE AIRBAGS? DO THEY NOT CARE ABOUT OUR SAFETY OR WANT US TO CONTINUE BUYING THEIR CARS?

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
DROVE THE VEHICLE OUT FOR LUNCH AND WAS JUST FINE. AFTER LUNCH, I GOT INTO MY VEHICLE AND WENT ON TO DRIVE BACK TO WORK. THAN MY STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING AND THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. " SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" . LUCKILY THERE WAS NO CAR WHEN I BRAKED AND JUST MINOR HIT THE CURB. SO I TRIED MY BEST TO DRIVE IT OUT OF TRAFFIC AND MADE IT TO A PARKING LOT. READ SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THIS POWER STEERING, AND LOOKED LIKE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD CAUSE I USE TOLLWAYS AND HIGHWAYS TO GET TO WORK AND HOME, IF THIS HAPPENED DURING THAT TIME, I MIGHT NOT BE THE ONE TYPING THIS TO YOU GUYS. HOPEFULLY THIS GETS FIXED SO OTHER PEOPLE DON'T FACE THIS SITUATION.
WHILE DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY , MOVING ABOUT 50 MPH THE CHECK POWER STEERING AND SERVICE ADVANCTRAX CAME OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I THEN LOST ALL POWER STEERING. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I AM NOT ABLE TO GET IT REPAIRED DUE TO COST. 12/10/17. 85,000 MILES
IN MY 2010 FORD FUSION SPORT, MY BRAKES GO SOFT AND SPONGY ANY TIME THE ABS GETS ACTIVATED. AFTERWARD, I HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO GET ANY BRAKING. IF I PUMP THE BRAKES SEVERAL DOZEN TIMES, IT COMES BACK TO NORMAL, BUT THE MAIN PROBLEM IS WHEN IT UNEXPECTEDLY GOES SPONGY WHILE DRIVING. IT IS A COLLOSAL SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD THE DEALERSHIP ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS SEVERAL TIMES BY BLEEDING THE BRAKE LINE AND CHANGING OUT ALL OF THE BRAKE FLUID, ALL TO NO AVAIL. ON SEVERAL FORD FORUMS, IT IS ALLEGEDLY A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. I AM GOING TO HAVE IT REPLACED, BUT FORD HASN'T SEEN FIT TO ISSUE A RECALL YET.
TAKATA RECALL. WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016 AND AS OF DECEMBER 2017 WE ARE STILL BEING TOLD THAT NONE OF THE DEALERS HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I WOULD SAY THAT QUALIFIES AS FAILING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM IN A TIMELY MANNER, BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW THESE THINGS ARE MEASURED.
AFTER STARTING THE CAR A NOTICE CAME ON THE MESSAGE CENTER THAT SAID A STEERING FAULT OCCURRED. AS I DROVE AWAY THE POWER ASSIST WAS NON EXISTENT AND IT TOOK ALL THE STRENGTH I HAD TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTED THE CAR THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. NOW I WORRY IT WILL REOCCUR WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEED OR TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION.

THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT IN AND NOW FORD INFORMED ME THEY NO LONGER PROVIDE A RENTAL. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS DUE TO COSTS, WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR SOMEONE'S LIFE SHOULD THIS DEFECT LEAD TO A DEATH DURING AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE CONFIRM YOU RECEIVED THIS CORRESPONDENCE, I NEED TO DOCUMENT THAT THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS BEING DISREGARDED.
2010 FUSION STEERING MALFUNCTIONED WHILE BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON READING ADVANCETRAC POWER ASSIST WARNING. I HAD NO POWER STEERING.
WHEN DRIVING BRAKES BECAME VERY WEAK ALMOST TO THE FLOOR, WE REPLACED THE BRAKES WITH STILL NO GOOD PEDAL. THEN WE REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, ONCE IT WAS REPLACED IT WOULD NOT BLEED, AND STILL NO BRAKES. WE CALLED THE FORD DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THE FUSIONS WERE DIFFICULT TO BLEED ONCE MASTER CYLINDERS WERE REPLACED. WE SENT IT OUT FOR DIAGNOSTICS AT THE FORD DEALER AND WERE CHARGED $98.00. THEY CALLED AND SAID THE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE BLEED BEFORE THEY COULD GIVE US AN EXACT ANSWER OF WHAT WAS WRONG AND THE WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $100. THEY CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER AND SAID IT NEEDED A MASTER CYLINDER. WE TOLD THEM WE JUST HAD REPLACED IT. THEY SAID MAYBE IT WAS A FAULTY PART, SO WE PICKED UP THE CAR EXCHANGED THE PART AND STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. CALLED BACK TO THE FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE ONLY OTHER THING IT COULD BE WAS THE HCU AND THAT WAS ABOUT $1600 TO CHANGE. SO 2 TOW BILLS, AND $200 LATER WE STILL HAVE NO BRAKES. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH WE HAVE SEEN THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE FORD FUSIONS AND THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. FORD SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL ! LOSING BRAKES WHILE DRIVING IS DANGEROUS ! THE DEALORSHIP SAID THAT THEY DID THE RECALL BUT I CONTINUED TO SMELL FUEL VAPORS. IN THE MEANTIME CLASSIC FORD HAS BEEN PURCHASED BY CLASSIC FORD AND THE SERVICE MANAGER, [XXX] IS TELLING US THAT THIS IS MY PROBLEM AND THAT CLASSIC IS NOT RESPOSNILBLE FOR CROSS ROADS MAINTENANCE ISSUES. I CONTACTED CROSS ROADS FORD AGAIN SEVERAL MONTHS LATER AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD ALREADY PERFORMED THE RECALL AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME TO HAVE THEM TO CHECK THE ISSUE AGAIN. I TOOK MY CAR TO EARL TINDOL FORD GASTONIA NC O N NOVEMBER 28 AND SERVICE REP THAT THE VALVE ON THE GAS TANK WAS APPARENTLY NOT FIXED OR FIXED PROPERLY. I CALLED THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SUPPORT ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 28 TO SEE IF THEY WOULD ASSIST WITH THE ISSUE AND I WAS DIRECTED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP (CLASSIC FORD) THAT ORGINALY PERFORMED THE RECALL. I CONTACTED [XXX] AT CLASSIC FORD ON NOVEMBER 28 AND HE SAID TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT THE ISSUE. I WAS NOTIFIED ON NOVEMBER 30 THAT THE VALVE IS APPARENTLY NOT WORKING CORRECTLY AND THAT THIS WAS A NON COVERED CHARGE SINCE THE RECALL WAS ALREADY PERFORMED. I PERCEIVE THAT THIS IS A BAD SAFETY PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE GASOLINE VAPOR SMELL AND THE VEHICLE COULD IGNITE. I FEEL THAT MY CAR SHOULD BE FIXED AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE I HAVE CONTINUED TO SMELL GASOLINE EVEN AFTER THE RECALL. I CAN BE REACHED AT [XXX]. STEERING FROZE AND WOULD NOT TURN. SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON. HAD TO TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF 3 TIMES TO GET PER STEERING BACK. I WAS IN THE PARKING LOT EXITING WHILE THIS OCCURRED DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE, AFTER JUST TURNING THE CAR ON.

IT NOW READS POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE AND I NO LONGER HAVE POWER-STEERING. FORD OFFERS A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SITUATION I AM FACED WITH FOR MODELS OF 2011-2013, REQUEST THE ASSISTANCE OF THE NHTSA TO ORDER FORD TO EXTEND THE RECALL TO INTO THE EARLIER MODELS OF THE FORD FUSION TO PREVENT THE SAME OCCURRENCE TO THOSE LESS FORTUNATE WITH THE STRENGTH TO STEER A VEHICLE THAT LOOSES POWER STEERING CONTROL MIDST THE DRIVE.

I CAN NOT BELIEVE MY SAFETY WAS IN JEOPARDY AND I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING FOR A DEFECT THAT HAS AFFECTED MANY VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR. I NEED HELP.

TOLD TO DRIVE THE CAR BACK TO DEALER IF THE MESSAGE HAPPENED AGAIN BUT IF I HAVE NO POWER STEERING THIS IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.
