The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the front wheel was dragging. In addition, the vehicle was hard to accelerate and the tire sensor was melted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they informed that the valve was stuck, the caliber, brakes, and abs unit were replaced. There was very low pressure in the corner. The pistons failed to open after brakes were applied. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.
While driving my 2010 Ford Fusion, on five separate occasions (two times less than a week apart) and over the last five months, while stopping for traffic lights, traffic or pedestrians the brake pedal travelled just inches from the floor and extra effort was needed in attempt to activate the brakes hoping to come to a complete stop. On two jarring instances collision was avoided only by swerving the vehicle to keep from hitting a wayward pedestrian and the other instance was with another vehicle backing out in a mall shopping center. On all five occasions there was an associated amber ABS light on the dash, a sudden drop in brake pressure and severely degraded to no braking power during application. The brake fluid reservoir is appropriately filled with the manufacturer specified DOT 3 brake fluid and there are no leaks in the system whatsoever. I’ve been told at the Ford dealership that my vehicle will not be able to be inspected or seen by appointment for a little over 2 months (late Oct 2022). I’ve contacted Ford’s customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and they stated that my VIN# is not included in the recall: 19S54. It’s apparent that my vehicle is experiencing all of the identical issues which prompted the Ford recall 19S54. Please assist so the Ford Fusion community can resolve this issue before another catastrophic event occurs.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while their husband was driving approximately 25 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but it traveled to the floorboard and failed to respond. The driver had to use the emergency brakes in order to stop the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed the anti-lock brake system had failed. The hydraulic brake control module and abs module needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact found that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, their VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to call NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage 160,000.
Loss of power steering at low speed without warning. OBD messages - Service Power Steering Now and Advancetrac Failure. Was not inspected by dealer. Took to an independent shop and am in the process of having rack and pinion replaced. No incident of injury, police report or other. No advance warnings.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately at 35 MPH, the front passenger brake caliper froze and stopped the front passenger tire. The tire locked up and nearly caused a loss of vehicle control. The contact stated that the brake pedal had to be depressed to the floorboard after the brake had failed. The contact stated that the brake failure was a re-occurring failure. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer and the vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) needed to be replaced. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 133,283.
After going over a rough patch of pavement on the road, I felt the brakes give out and completely reach the floor almost as if there was no pressure in the pump. Now, the brakes go all the way down when trying to brake and it still stops the car but it shouldn't do that. I've read others online had the same issue with the brakes.
Brakes are exhibiting issues with long brake pedal travel and sponginess. This has started within the last few weeks where it is off and on but is continuous now. The dealer has the vehicle and diagnosed it as an issue with the HCU or ABS system. My mom was driving it and had difficulty stopping the vehicle due to long brake pedal travel. I saw there was a previous recall 19S54 on the same year model that was produced at the same plant. However Ford will not fix it since the production date was two months after the original affected date. The campaign ended with vehicles produced up to July. Hers was produced in September. Since the dates were not the same they would not cover it even if it was the exact same issue on the recall.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that when attempting to depress the brake pedal, it would touch the floorboard. The brakes service warning light had illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who replaced 2 calibers and the brake pads but the failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle to another certified mechanic who stated that the calibers had blown the brakes on the vehicle due to a lift failing to close causing brake fluid to get inside. The entire ABS system needed to be replaced however the vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

While driving my car 2 Wrench lights appeared on my dashboard. My car suddenly started to slow down and it would not regain speed. I had to find a safe place to pull over. When the traffic cleared I started back on my way home at a very reduced speed. This problem has occurred multiple times but my Ford dealer is unable to fix it. This problem has been addressed in Ford's "Customer Satisfaction Program 13N03 for Non-Hybrid Ford Fusions. Hybrid Ford Fusions have thee same Throttle Body Assembly part that has been replaced by Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program 13N03, so why not include Hybrid Ford Fusions too? (My car has only 61,000 miles.)
The EAPS or electronic assisted power steering within my Ford as well as many other ford/Lincoln/mercury vehicles have a substantial problem with dying out randomly even in low mileage vehicles. After researching in hopes I can get the work done myself I’m finding that more and more vehicles are having the same problem. And after have a $3300 quote I am now losing substantial resale value because Ford won’t recognize a problem. Around 400,000 fusions have been recalled for this same problem yet mine (and many other vehicles) don’t fall under this.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact was at a stoplight proceeding to make a left turn, and the vehicle inadvertently stopped. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove home safely. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.

Manufacturer has failed to fix safety recall notice 21S12 / SHTSA Recall 21V-158 in a timely manner. The recall date was March of 2021, a notice was received in April 2021. This issue is still outstanding with no repair in the imminent future. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle, but have no other options but to continue to drive it.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. An unknown local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Out of nowhere, my brakes malfunctioned with the pedal sinking low to the floor. Several lights went off including check brake system, traction control and ABS. This issue seems to be exactly related to a current recall involving ABS on 2010 Fusions but doesn't appear to apply to the Hybrid model. The issue is intermittent.
About July 13th 2022, I was driving to town with my children. The car's warning sounded and displayed a mechanic's wrench. Moments later while approaching the intersection a few hundred feet away, I had no foot brakes. I was able to use the hand brake and stop before running the busy cross traffic going 50+ mpg. Had I not reacted as fast I did, there would have been a three-car incident at the intersection threatening all of our lives. Had the car towed to the repair shop and they confirmed that the abs module and brake booster was no longer functioning and needed to be replaced. They were unable to perform that repair, so I then had it taken to a dealership for a second opinion, and they had the same conclusion. Apparently, this is such a problem that the abs module part is backordered with no estimated stocking date. Now I've been out of a car for over a month. Kendal Ford of Marysville Washington recommended repairs. 1. HYBRID BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS (EEC TEST, PINPOINT TESTS) (NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS, BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL/WRENCH...) Fail 2. REPLACE FAULTY ABS MODULE ASSY (BOTH ELECTRONIC/HYDRAULIC, STUCK VALVES AND UNSTABLE LOGIC VOLTAGE) (NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS, BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL/WRENCH...) Fail 3. REPLACE FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER (INTEGRAL BOOSTER VACUUM CONTROL SOLENOID FAILURE) (NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS, BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL/WRENCH...) Fail 4. PERFORM HYBRID BRAKE FLUSH (AFTER HYDRAULIC REPAIRS) (NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS, BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL/WRENCH...) Fail Let me know if you need anything else. On occasion, the brake pedal goes to the floor and car does not stop. Red triangle warning light comes on. Parking brake is needed to stop car. I have taken it to ford dealer, and problem was not repeated during their test drive.
The manufacturer has not supplied a repair part for a defective airbag that could kill me or my children as this is one of our primary vehicles. It has been 1.5 years since the recall, this needs to be remedied more quickly! We have high humidity here, which makes it even more likely to explode. Please put pressure on Ford to fix this issue.
The power steering went out without warning. Other vehicles had a recall for this concern but this vehicle is not covered by that recall.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal went to the floorboard while depressed with the brake warning light illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle intermittently failed to start due to battery failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the brake calipers; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic and diagnosed with ABS hydraulic control unit failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while pulling out of the parking lot, the steering wheel emitted abnormal loud grinding sounds. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he continued driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was test driven. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the electronic steering assist needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in a recall associated with the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
I own a 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID. The ABS light, the Brake light, the Service Advancetrac, the Wrench, Etc. all were illuminated when the car on. The breaks pedal on my Fusion just goes straight to the floor and can barely stop the car when its in drive and not giving any gas. A recall was issued on this model of a car but my car wasnt included for some reason. I am having the same issue with the ABS as the recall. Do your job NHTSA and make ford recall it on all fusions before someone dies. Ive already spent a ton of money on replacing all the brake pads, rotors, master cylinder and now have to replace the ABS system.

I believed my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid MFG date: 08/09 fall under Recall NHTSA 19V904000. However, I did not receive any letter notification and/ or notice. I called the dealership and they’re asking for $200 something for diagnose then go from there. Is there anyway can confirm that my car under the recall so I get fix without any charge? I’m leaving on budget, cannot afford on anything else. Please find the attached pictures.

Hello, Around 3 years ago, I found out that Ford had a recall on 2010 Fusion for the brakes but my VIN # was not included. About a year and a half ago, I took my car to the shop because my brakes and rotors needed replaced. The mechanic called me to say even though they were all replaced, i still have to push the pedal to floor to stop but there was a recall on your make and model and to contact Ford. I then told him that when I checked a few years ago, it did not qualify. He then called Ford himself and was told the same thing. It cost us almost $900 to repair. Now only a little over a year later, the brakes are very bad and I’m asking that you please relook at VIN #’s. It scared me so bad today when I had to suddenly stop and all I heard was grinding and almost rear ended the car in front of me. It made me want to email you to find out if my car can fixed. This problem also causes wear and tear to happen faster because I should not have to replace them already after a short this period of time. Can you please re evaluate my car for the recall and also assistance with repairing the brakes and rotors? I do have the receipt from a licensed shop showing the repair I did already I can send too. Please advise. Thank you so much in advance for your time and help. I truly appreciate it!!
Notified of recall 21V-158 for the driver side airbag in April 2021. It has been over a year and there is still no remedy. I do not consider this to be resolved in a timely manner. Does NHTSA have a definition of "timely manner" that is imposed on manufactures to complete repairs associated with safety recalls? What is being done by NHTSA and Ford to complete the repairs needed to comply with the recall?
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the power steering failed to function as designed; however, the power steering functionality was available while the vehicle was turned off. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with an electronic steering gear failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
While driving 45mph on a smooth road, the tire sidewall blew out. Tire torn in several places. No sign of any contributing damage that could have caused the problem, nor was there a pothole or road debris. Tires are from 2019, and had 25,000 miles of use.
I was driving down the road the other day in my 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid and my brakes suddenly didn't work. I got the big red flashing message on the dashboard to check the braking system. I had to really stomp on the brake pedal to get it to stop. Very concerning. I had a mechanic come to me and first checked the brake fluid which was still full. But he said it was thicker than it should be, gel like. He then ran the computer scan on it and found that the brake control system showed a fault indicating a valve stopped working or was stuck open or something. He checked it for an open recall suspecting it would be covered by the Ford 19S54 recall and only found some airbag recall issue. But the recall, that was issued just a few years ago, didn't come up because apparently it only covered vehicles made up through July 2009. Mine was made in I think November 2009. Not that many months apart and given that it exhibited the EXACT same behavior as the recall indicates, it seems it really should be extended to cover my car.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Electronic rack and pinion Power Steering Failure NHTSA Action Number: EA17004 Components STEERING Opened From: November 20, 2017–Present How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Unable to control vehicle Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No only when the issue occurred
The brake system failed while vehicle was in operation on a highway travelling at 65 mph. While not completely nonfunctional, all advanced braking features such as ABS and power brakes were immediately disabled and only pressing the brake pedal completely to the floor would slowly bring the vehicle to a stop. Other drivers around my vehicle as well as myself were in danger, as I was at that time suddenly unable to stop the vehicle normally. If a sudden traffic stop were required or a situation requiring ABS encountered, a collision would have been extremely likely. I brought the vehicle to a service center the same day the issue occured. The dealer confirmed that many fault indicators were actively lit on the dashboard, the brakes were not functioning correctly, and error code "U3000" was stored on the vehicle's onboard computer. After performing extensive diagnostics, the dealer recommended that the ABS/Brake Control Valve Module be replaced. I put an order in for the component (part number BE5Z2C219H) on 01JUN2022 but as of 19OCT2022, the part is still not available due to being waitlisted. I was told that I was number 600+ on the list to receive this ($645.25) part as this exact component is currently part of a large recall that the manufacturer says my vehicle doesn't qualify for. As mentioned, there is a recall for my exact vehicle model, year, and plant of manufacture but I am told that my VIN is not in the range covered by this recall--even though it presents the exact symptoms and it seems that the same component has been determined to be at fault. That recall is: 19S54 - Certain 2006-2010 Model Year Fusion/Milan/MKZ/Zephyr Vehicles Equipped with Anti-Lock Brake Systems - DOT 3 Brake Fluid and Anti-Lock Brake System Function The vehicle is available for inspection anytime as it has been undrivable now for almost 5 months.
2010 model year electric power assisted steering goes out at low speed when making turns, similar to same issue recalled for 2011-2012 model years. The previous recall needs to be expanded to include 2010 model year.
Power steering just quit while driving. Scared the heck out of me. Turned car off and started again and it went away for a few minutes and then quit again.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the Power Steering Assist Fault message was displayed, and the steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the power steering control module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The power steering control module was replaced and reprogrammed and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 210,000.
The same problem as safety recall19S54. My brake pedal went mushy and falls under the same exact problems that the safety recall is for. My vehicle however is not included in the recall
complete power steering went out. vehicle light says service power steering check.vehicle not drivable can possibly lock- up when operating vehicle and its very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle would vibrate, jerk, and not properly accelerate. Also, the power steering assist fault message was displayed and the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic determined that the power steering module was faulty and that the fuel inlet valve was cracked. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 106,000.
