ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE CAR WILL JUST LOSE ALL THROTTLE RESPONSE, THE CAR IS STILL RUNNING, BUT WILL NOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO FIND SOME PLACE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. THEN RESTART THE ENGINE AND THEN IT WILL RUN GOOD. THE ISSUE HAPPENS SOMETIMES UP SIX TIMES IN ONE DAY, AND THEN YOU CAN GO A WEEK WITHOUT AN ISSUE. I HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE WITH SPEEDS AS LOW AS 20 MPH ALL THE WAY UP TO 70 MPH. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ONLINE IT WOULD APPEAR TO POSSIBLY BE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY. APPARENTLY THIS THROTTLE BODY USES A SERVO TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE BUTTERFLY THAT ALLOWS AIR INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. I FEEL THIS COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE DRIVING AND IT LOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND YOU CAN NOT FIND A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER TO RESTART THE CAR. *TR
DRIVING WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC ON A BUSY ROAD, GOING ABOUT 55 ALL OF SUDDEN I LOSE POWER AND THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON. I WAS IN THE FAST LANE, AND WAS VERY LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE SLOW LANE, AND EVENTUALLY THE SHOULDER AND COME TO A STOP. WHEN I FINALLY STOPPED, THE CAR STARTED SHAKING OR HESITATING. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND SAT FOR A FEW MINUTES. I THEN TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS GONE AND THE CAR RAN FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AND I HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY THAT IT HAS NOT CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I AM GOING TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON THURSDAY, BUT SEEING THAT SO MANY OTHER NUMEROUS PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND FORD JUST SAYS THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM, IT WILL PROBABLY BE A WASTE OF TIME. IT WILL MOST LIKELY TAKE A SERIOUS CRASH OR DEATH BEFORE FORD WILL FIGURE OUT WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON WITH THESE CARS. SAD, BUT TRUE. *TR
WHILE STOPPED WITH FOOT ON BREAK - THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV AND THE CAR BEGAN TO LURCH FORWARD. I HAD TO KEEP PRESSING HARDER ON THE BRAKE I LOOKED DOWN TO BE SURE I DID NOT HAVE MY FOOT ON THE GAS AND I DID NOT. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN OFF THE IGNITION TO GET THE CAR TO STOP REVING UP AND LURCHING FORWARD. MY WIFE TOLD ME SHE HAD A SIMILAR INCIDENT WITH THE ENGINE REVING UP WHEN SHE HAD THE CAR ON CRUISE CONTROL BUT IT ONLY LASTED A FEW MOMENTS, IN THAT INCIDENT SHE WAS GOING 60. ALSO, WE DO NOT HAVE THE FLOOR MATS THAT WE READ ABOUT IN OTHER POSTS ONLINE. *JS
I WAS TRAVELING UPHILL ON A RURAL ROAD WHEN MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY THE ENGINE LIGHT. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AS FAR AS I COULD TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON IT WENT A LITTLE FURTHER AND STARTED SHAKING AGAIN. I WAS ON A BLIND CURVE ON A ROAD THAT IS NARROW AND TRAVELED FASTER THAN IT SHOULD BE FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO COAX THE CAR TO AN AREA WHERE THE ROAD OPENS UP A LITTLE. I HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR OVERNIGHT AND SOMEONE CHOSE TO VANDALIZE IT. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO WAS A LITTLE RUDE WHEN I TALKED TO THEM. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY AND IT IS NOT SOMETHING COVERED BY FORD. SO NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS PART AND LABOR COST AND MY DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE VANDALIZATION. WITH SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS POSTED HERE I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY NOTHING IS BEING DONE. *TR

THE FAILURE RECURRED FREQUENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 -60 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THEN STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AT VARIOUS INTERVALS SINCE FEBRUARY OF 2012 . MY FUSION WOULD STALL AN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I LEFT FROM A STOP SIGN OR A TRAFFIC LIGHT , THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO ABOVE TEN MILES PER HOUR AN THE WRENCH LIGHT WOULD COME ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL. I WOULD HAVE TO GET OFF THE ROAD AN CUT THE CAR OFF THEN RESTART IT. THE CAR WOULD ACT LIKE IT HAD FLOODED AN LURCH AN JERK , WHEN BEFORE I WOULD HAVE IT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AN I TOLD THEM ABOUT MY INCIDENTS OF THE SAME TYPE EACH TIME. THEY COULD NOT LOCATE THE PROBLEM UNTIL ON JUNE 30,2012 WHERE THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED TO ME AN I DROVE THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY WERE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. THEY TOLD ME I MUST HAVE BEEN USING SOME DIRTY FUEL SINCE THEY SAID THE THROTTLE BODY LOOKED BLACK INSIDE OF FUEL. I HAD USED EXCLUSIVELY 93 OCTANE FUEL INTO MY VEHICLE. I HAD PURCHASED A EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM PRESTON FORD IN WHICH THEY TOLD ME WHEN I FIRST TOOK THE VEHICLE THERE WITH THE SAME RECURRING PROBLEM, THEY SAID IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. IT WAS THEN THEY TOLD ME THE WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THAT PART. I HAD TO PAY FOR THE FAULTY PART WITH A TOTAL BILL OF $593.00, ALONG WITH OTHER ITEMS I HAD FOR THIS SERVICE VISIT. I HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM SINCE THIS WORK WAS DONE ON MY VEHICLE. THEY DID NOT TELL THAT FORD HAD ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS PROBLEM THAT WAS KNOWN BY THE DEALERSHIP, BUT I HAD TO PAY FOR THIS TO TELL ME THAT I HAD ONE OF THE VEHICLES THAT WERE WITHIN THIS BULLETIN. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING TO WORK AND THE ENGINE KEPT LOOSING POWER TOOK IT TO FORD ONCE AND THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD FUSE GOT IT BACK AND DROVE IT TO WORK AGAIN AND THE ENGINE STALLED OUT 7 TIMES WITHIN 2 MILES I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO FORD AND THEY SAID MY THROTTLE BODY BROKE AND NEEDED REPLACED. *TR
DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE CAR LOST POWER GOING UP A HILL, AS IF THE GAS PEDAL HAD BEEN DISCONNECTED. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO AVOID BEING HIT AND PULLED OUT OF THE WAY. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE CAR DID START AGAIN BUT THE SHIFTING IS STRANGE AND IT DIES A LOT. I CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED IT WAS PROBABLY THE THROTTLE BODY AS THEY HAD BEEN REPLACING THEM LEFT AND RIGHT. THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY AND WOULD COST AROUND $500. I THEN HAD A PRIVATE MECHANIC LOOK AT IT. HE DROVE IT AROUND AND THE CAR DIED ON HIM 3 TIMES IN THIS ONE TRIP. SO AFTER CHECKING...HE CONFIRMED IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY BUT THE PART IS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND WOULD TAKE UP TO 6 WEEKS. THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP IS VERY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE FUSIONS AND ADVISED ME TO CONTACT FORD CORPORATE. I DID AND THEIR RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM WAS "WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY HAVE CAUSED YOU.WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOUR VEHICLE BE INSPECTED BY YOUR SERVICING FORD DEALERSHIP TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF ANY SYMPTOMS YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE EXPERIENCING. THEY HAVE FACTORY TRAINED TECHNICIANS, COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE INFORMATION AND SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT TO HELP DIAGNOSE YOUR VEHICLE." RIGHT, MORE MONEY FOR THEM. SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT IN AN ACCIDENT. FORD NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. IT'S OBVIOUS BY THE NATIONAL BACK ORDER THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM SOMEWHERE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE WRENCH SYMBOL, AND ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,500.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A STEADY SPEED WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE GAS PEDAL STOPPED RESPONDING, ALMOST AS IF I WAS IN NEUTRAL. I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER. IT TOOK A FEW TRIES OF RESTARTING THE CAR IN ORDER TO GET IT GOING. THE SAME INCIDENT HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT WEEK. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING IN TRAFFIC THE CAR LOST POWER. I WAS ABLE TO STEER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD WHERE THE CAR IDLED ROUGHLY AND I NOTICED A "WRENCH" LIGHT CAME ON. I SHUT THE CAR DOWN WHILE I COLLECTED MY THOUGHTS ON WHAT TO DO. I USED MY PHONE TO FIND THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER AND, BEFORE CALLING FOR A TOW VEHICLE, I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR. IT RESTARTED, THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS OFF, AND IT SEEMED TO RUN FINE. I DROVE DIRECTLY TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER WITHOUT INCIDENT WHERE THEY HOOKED UP THE COMPUTER TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AND SUGGESTED THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED TO TRY AND GET IT TO A DEALER WHILE THE LIGHT WAS ON. I THEN DROVE APPROXIMATELY 120 MILES HOME WITH MY GRANDSON. THIS MORNING I WENT ON THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY SIMILAR INSTANCES SUCH AS MIND AND FOUND THERE WERE QUITE A FEW: (HTTP://WWW.ARFC.ORG/COMPLAINTS/2010/FORD/FUSION/POWER_TRAIN/PROBLEM.ASPX) THE INCIDENTS OTHERS REPORTED WERE ALMOST IDENTICAL TO MINE. I THEN CALLED THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM NEW, AND THEY RAN A CHECK TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS ON MY MODEL AND THERE WEREN'T. THEY SUGGESTED I CALL FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I TRIED CALLING THEM AND WAS TOLD BY A REPRESENTATIVE THEY WERE HAVING "TECHNICAL ISSUES" AND COULDN'T HELP ME, TO CALL BACK IN AN HOUR. I LIVE IN A VERY RURAL AREA. THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER IS PROBABLY 50-60MILES AWAY. THE ROADS HERE DON'T HAVE MUCH ROOM TO PULL OFF ON IF THE CAR FAILS AGAIN. JUDGING BY THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN ONLINE, IT SEEMS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR AND THERE SHOULD BE SOME ACTION BEING TAKEN TO REMEDY IT. THIS SITUATION CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD FOR ANYONE DRIVING OR RIDING IN THE CAR. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, I STARTED EXPERIENCING A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS. THE FIRST STARTED THREE WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING IT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, DOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON IN MY CAR. NOT TOO LONG AFTER THAT THE CAR BEGIN SHAKING, SO AT THIS POINT I DECIDED TO PULL IT OVER AT A REST AREA. UPON PARKING, I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ALLOWED IT TO SIT FOR AWHILE. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, THE LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND BROUGHT IT BACK THERE SO THEY COULD DRIVE IT AND SEE WHAT IS WRONG. THEY OF COURSE FOUND NOTHING. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER I BLEW MY TRANSMISSION. AFTER TAKING TWO MONTHS IN THE SHOP, I FINALLY GOT IT REPLACED. SURE ENOUGH A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER THAT, THE INCIDENT HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY SAID THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. GOT THAT DOWN AND HAD MY CAT BACK A MONTH LATER. A MONTH AFTER THAT, THS SAME THING HAPPENED. THIS TIME, THEY SAID IT WAS SOME LINING THAT NEEDED TO BE FIXED, SO THEY DID. A COULEE DAYS AGO, THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY ARE SAYING THE CV AXLE AND BUSHING NEED TO BE REPLACED. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN JUNE 2012 AND IT HAS SPENT MORE TIME IN THE SHOP THAN IN MY POSSESSION. NOT ONLY AM I PAYING A CAR PAYMENT FOR A CAR I DINT BARELY HAVE, BUT I AM ALSO PAYING WEEKLY FOR A RENTAL EVERYTIME IT IS IN THE SHOP. *TR

THE TACHOMETER DISPLAYED 2,000 RPMS HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RESPONSIVE TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE AND LATER, THE FAILURE WAS CORRECTED HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR A REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,506. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
I WAS TRAVELING AT 60MPH IN MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WHEN THE 2010 FORD FUSION LOST ACCELERATION. THEN THE CAR STARTED TO CHUG SO I PULLED OFF ONTO THE SHOULDER BEFORE THE EXIT. IT WAS NOT A FULL SHOULDER AS THE CAR WAS STILL OCCUPYING HALF OF A LANE. A TEN-WHEELER TRUCK WAS RIGHT BEHIND ME AND FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO STOP.THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, SHE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND. THE WRENCH MAINTENANCE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING AND SHAKING, EVEN AS THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO PARK GEAR. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, TURNED OFF VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE MAINTENANCE WARNING LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE WAS RESOLVED MOMENTARILY. THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING AND THE FAILURE RECURRED EVERY FIVE MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND THE FAILURE WAS FOUND IN THE THROTTLE BODY. THE AIR FILTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND A BURNED SPARK PLUG WAS FOUND. THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR IT SUDDENLY JERKED AND STOPPED LIKE I HAD TURNED IT OFF. I COASTED TO SIDE OF ROAD IT WAS STILL RUNNING COULD NOT GIVE IT ANY GAS A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED OFF CAR AND RESTARTED IT, AND IT CAME BACK ON, AND THE WRENCH LIGHT WENT OFF. DROVE IT ON HOME IT JUMPED AND JERKED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO QUIT AT ANY MOMENT. I THEN TOOK IT TO MY DEALERSHIP THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON IT SAID IT WAS THROTTLE BODY BUT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR SINCE PURCHASING IT BUT HAVE ONLY HAD IT LESS THAN A YEAR. I AM CONCERNED WITH A SERIOUS ACCIDENT HAPPENING BECAUSE IT JUST SHUTS OFF THE GAS AND I CANNOT MOVE IT OR GET IT OUT OF TRAFFIC.
DRIVING UP TO A RED LIGHT THAT HAD JUST TURNED GREEN, THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 2010 FORD FUSION, IT BEGAN TO JERK, I LOST ALL ACCELERATION, AND MY GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT RESPOND. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP THE CAR INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE I TURNED THE CAR OFF. I WAITED A MINUTE OR SO AND RECRANKED IT. IT SHOOK/SPUTTERED A LITTLE BIT, BUT EVENTUALLY CRANKED AND THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS OFF. CONTINUED DRIVING AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN A COUPLE MILES DOWN THE ROAD AT AROUND 50 MPH. AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO LIMP INTO A PARKING LOT, KILL THE CAR, AND RECRANK AS BEFORE. TOOK CAR TO DEALER THE NEXT DAY. THEY COULDN'T GET AN ERROR CODE READING OR REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WAS TOLD TO COME BACK WITH WRENCH LIGHT ON (WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE THE CAR WON'T GO WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON). I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM OCCUR 3 MORE TIMES, HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD, AND MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP AS THEY TRY TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AGAIN. I'VE READ A RIDICULOUS NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ONLINE FROM OTHER 2010 FORD FUSION OWNERS. THE PROBLEM IS A BAD THROTTLE BODY, AND IT IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. I'VE BEEN DRIVING CAUTIOUSLY SINCE IT FIRST OCCURRED BECAUSE I KNOW I CAN'T RELY ON THE GAS PEDAL TO ALWAYS RESPOND, BUT FOR SOMEONE TO WHOM IT HAPPENS THE FIRST TIME WHO ATTEMPTS TO CROSS TRAFFIC AND THEN FINDS HIMSELF A SITTING DUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, IT IS GOING TO SPELL TRAGEDY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUAL INDICATED THAT THE WRENCH ILLUMINATION WAS RELATED TO A THROTTLE BODY FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,400.
ON TAKE OFF IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND JERKED HARD. I WAS FRIGHTENED AND PULLED OVER FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO CALL MY DAD WHOM IS A MECHANIC. HE STATED THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT I SHOULD DRIVE IT HOME WHICH WAS A HOUR AWAY. I WAS SCARED THAT IT WOULD DO IT AGAIN AT FULL SPEED. 2 DAYS LATER AS I TRIED TO REVERSE OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE CAR REVVED UP BUT DIDN'T MOVE THEN JERKED INTO GEAR AND I FLEW OUT THE DRIVEWAY VERY HARD AND JERKING VIOLENTLY. I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE WITH MY NIECE OR MY LITTLE 4 YEAR OLD BROTHER IN CASE OF SOMETHING DANGEROUS. I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THIS EVER WITH A VEHICLE. I PLAN TO TAKE THE CAR IN IMMEDIATELY! DEALER COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM ALTHOUGH THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN WELL-KNOWN TO THEM BY THEN. HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE AND GOT WORSE AND NOW CAR IS IMMOBILE AND TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. ON JUNE 19, 2012, DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND TO PRESSING GAS PEDAL, AND IT SLOWS TO A STOP; EVERYTHING ELSE SEEMS TO CONTINUE TO WORK FINE. TURNED CAR OFF, THEN RESTARTED IT WITH NO ISSUES. ON JULY 7, 2012, AGAIN DRIVING AT ABOUT 40-45 MPH, THE CAR STARTS TO JERK, THE GAS PEDAL DOESN'T WORK, AND THE CAR STARTS TO SLOW, WHILE JERKING, AND A WRENCH/TOOL SYMBOL APPEARS ON THE DASHBOARD. I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF, THEN TURNED IT BACK ON. I MADE IT ABOUT 1 MILE (CLOSE TO HOME) AND THE CAR LOSES POWER IN THE SAME MANNER, JERKING AND SLOWING, GAS PEDAL DOESN'T WORK, AND THE WRENCH LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT BOTH COME ON. OVER THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS I HAVE NOTICED SLIGHT JERKS OR SPUTTERS WHEN I'M DRIVING. SPEED RANGES ANYWHERE FROM 10-70 MPH WHEN IT OCCURS. THIS MORNING ON THE HIGHWAY IT WAS MUCH MORE NOTICEABLE AND AFTER ABOUT 10 MILES THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST ALL ACCELERATION, LUCKILY THE RIGHT LANE WAS CLEAR AND I COULD GET TO THE SHOULDER SAFELY. AS I SLOWED DOWN THE ENGINE SHOOK HEAVILY AND I TURNED THE CAR OFF. I WAITED A COUPLE MINUTES AND RESTARTED THE CAR FINE...NO LIGHT, NO SHAKING. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE 3.5 MILES TO WORK. SAME DAY, DRIVING HOME I MADE IT ABOUT 10 MILES AGAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I WAITED A COUPLE MINUTES, RESTARTED AND MADE IT TO A SHOP A COUPLE MILES DOWN THE ROAD (STILL COULD FEEL THE JERKING SLIGHTLY BUT THE LIGHT DIDN'T COME ON AND I DIDN'T LOSE ACCELERATION). ONCE I GOT THERE AND THEY HOOKED UP THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE THEY COULD NOT READ ANY CODES, WHICH IS VERY COMMON FROM WHAT I'M READING ABOUT OTHER FUSION OWNERS WHO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THEY ARE GOING TO DRIVE IT IN THE MORNING SO THEY CAN READ THE CODE WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON AND HOPEFULLY DETERMINE IF IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY. I WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ONTO A MAJOR INTERSTATE ON MY WAY TO WORK AT APPROXIMATELY 55 TO 60 MPH AND MY 2010 FORD FUSION LOST ALL POWER. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE. I CUT THE MOTOR OFF. I STARTED THE ENGINE BACK AND PROCEEDED TO WORK. DID NOT CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP ON THE FIRST INCIDENT. TWO DAYS LATER I WAS COMING HOME AND HAD JUST CROSSED OVER A TWO LANE HIGHWAY TO GET TO THE ROAD I LIVE ON AND HAD THE SAME ISSUE, THE CAR LOST ALL POWER AND THERE WAS A JERKING IN THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AGAIN, FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND LET IT SET FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND RESTARTED THE CAR. WE THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WERE ADVISED TO BRING THE CAR IN. THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT GET A CODE AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER. WE DROVE THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS AND WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AGAIN AT APPROX. 70 MPH IN THE FAST LANE WITH A TRACTOR AND TRAILER BEHIND ME THE CAR PROCEEDED AGAIN TO LOSE POWER. THE TRACTOR AND TRAILER HAD TO APPLY HIS BRAKES TO KEEP FROM HITTING ME IN THE BACK. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN. AGAIN WE CUT THE MOTOR OFF AND STARTED IT AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND WERE ADVISED TO BRING IT IN AGAIN. THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 WEEKS. ON SATURDAY JUNE 16TH I WAS TRAVELING NORTH BOUND I-75 FROM ROCKCASTLE CO. KY TO MADISON CO KY WHICH IS ABOUT 45 MILES. WAS TRAVELING 65 MILES MPH AND SUDDENLY THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THERE WAS A SEMI IN THE RIGHT LANE, WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE LANE WITH ONE SEMI IN BACK OF US. WE WERE ABLE TO COAST TO THE EMERGENCY SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE SEMI IN BACK OF US LOCKED HIS BRAKE AND ALMOST HIT US. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND DROVE IN THE SLOW LANE AND IT HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES. I THEN LEFT THE CAR AT MY MOTHER IN-LAW'S HOUSE AND BORROWED A CAR TO GET HOME IN AS I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AND PUT MYSELF AT RISK PLUS SOMEONE'S LIFE AT RISK. ON MONDAY, 6-18-12 I GOT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MECHANIC TEST DROVE IT AND IT HAPPENED TO HIM. I PULLED UP ON THE INTERNET AND SAW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. WE CHECKED TRANSMISSION FLUID, IT WAS A LITTLE LOW SO WE ADDED SOME. A LITTLE BETTER BUT DID NOT FIX IT. WE WERE TRAVELING ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE WHEN WE HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER WHEN IT WOULD NOT PULL ANYMORE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER SITTING IDLE IT FINALLY LEVELED OUT AND LIGHT WENT OFF BUT STILL WAS HESITATING. THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO GO OFF AND ON THE REMAINDER OF THE DRIVE. WHEN WE REACHED OUR DESTINATION WE LOCATED A FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT OUR CAR FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS AND CALLED US AND SAID IT REPORTED A MISFIRE CODE BUT THAT WAS ALL AND THAT WE NEEDED TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS. SO WE PICKED OUR CAR UP AND DROVE IT BACK HOME TO OUR REGULAR DEALERSHIP. OUR DEALERSHIP KEPT IT FOR 1 DAY AND SAID THE SAME THING, MISFIRE CODE AND TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS AND SWAP THE COILS AROUND. SO WE DID. DIDN'T FIX IT. BROUGHT IT BACK TO OUR DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY KEPT IT FOR EXACTLY 2 WEEKS WITH NO RESULTS. AS I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON A BUSY 4 LANE HIGHWAY,AND MY ENGINE LOST ALL POWER. IT SLOWED TO ABOUT 3 MPH AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL, NEARLY CAUSING A MAJOR CRASH. I OPENED THE STORAGE CONSOLE THAT SITS ON THE DASH AND THE LID BROKE OFF THE HINGES. PARTS ARE MADE OF THAT HARD PLASTIC THE HEAT AND SUN BAKES TILL BRITTLE. *TR
DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE OF A MULTI-LANE ROAD. THE LIGHT HAD JUST GONE YELLOW AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE HICUPPED HARD AND I HAD NO RESPONSE TO THE GAS PEDAL AT ALL, PLUS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (WRENCH ICON) CAME ON. I CAME TO A STOP AND HAD NO VEHICLE MOVEMENT IN RESPONSE TO STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND TRIED TO RESTART IT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT AWAY AND THE CAR STARTED AND ACTED NORMAL. I STOPPED AT THE STORE ON THE WAY HOME, THEN ON THE WAY FROM THE STORE TO HOME IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAD TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF IN ORDER FOR IT TO START AGAIN. WHEN I GOT HOME I PUT A CODE READER ON THE VEHICLE, BUT IT SHOWED NO CODE. IT DID IT AGAIN ON MY WAY TO WORK IN THE MORNING AND AGAIN ON THE WAY HOME AFTER WORK. EACH TIME I HAVE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, PUT IT IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON TO GET IT TO START AGAIN. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR ME AND ANYONE AROUND ME. I TAKE MY VEHICLE TO FORD FOR SERVICING AND THEY SAY NO RECALLS ARE IN PLACE FOR THIS. I ENTER THE SYMPTOMS INTO THE SEARCH ENGINE OF THE INTERNET AND FIND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS AND DRIVERS OF THE SAME DEFECT. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY SAY THAT FIRST THEY HAVE TO RUN TESTS TO VERIFY THE THROTTLE BODY IS THE PROBLEM AND I WILL BE CHARGED FOR THAT, BECAUSE THE CODE RESETS EACH TIME. THE TOTAL BILL WILL BE $600 TO $700. THEY HAVE DEALT WITH IT BEFORE, BUT FORD HAS NOTHING IN PLACE TO ADDRESS IT AS A SAFETY ISSUE. AFTER BEING LOOKED AT BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP, IT WAS DETERMINED MY THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY CAR IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. THE PART AND LABOR TOTALED AROUND $500.00 THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A NEW CAR TO ALREADY HAVE THIS ISSUES. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT MULTIPLE FORD FUSIONS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS ITEM NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND REPLACED. I WAS JUST LEAVING MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND JUST GOT DOWN TO THE END OF THE ROAD, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I FEEL THIS REALLY BAD SHAKING, HAD NO ACCELERATION WHEN PRESSED ON GAS AND CAR KEPT JERKING UNTIL I FINALLY HAD TO SHUT IT OFF. I DID RESEARCH ON IT IMMEDIATELY AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE THAT HAS BECOME VERY RELEVANT WITH MY CAR MAKE/MODEL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! IF I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR GOD FORBID HAD KIDS IN THE CAR, THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT! THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AND ADDRESSED FAST!!!! *TR
MY DRIVERS SEAT FEATURES ALL POWER CONTROLS. THE INCIDENT IS THAT MY DRIVERS SEAT LOST CONTROL OF THE UP AND DOWN MOTION. WHEN YOU PRESS THE BUTTON ON THE SEAT TO MOVE THE LOWER SECTION OF THE SEAT UP OR DOWN, IT MAKES NOISE (LIKE THE MOTOR IS OPERATING) BUT THE SEAT DOES NOTHING. AFTER CAREFUL INSPECTION, I FOUND OUT THAT FORD USES PLASTIC GEARS UNDER THE SEAT AND ONE OF THE PLASTIC GEARS HAS A BROKEN TOOTH. THIS CAUSES THE SEAT MOTOR TO RUN BUT NOT ACTUALLY TURN THE GEAR TO MOVE THE SEAT IN EITHER DIRECTION. THIS GEAR SET IS NOT REPLACEABLE OR SERVICEABLE AND THE OWNER MUST EITHER REPLACE THE BOTTOM RAILS OF THE SEAT OR PURCHASE AN ENTIRELY NEW SEAT - BOTH ARE COSTLY REPAIRS FOR NOT EVEN HAVING 70,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AT THAT TIME. *TR
TOOK CAR FOR OIL CHANGE. NOTICED AFTER CAR WASN'T LOCKING ON DRIVER'S SIDE. PASSENGER THEN NOTICED INTERIOR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS CRACKED AND NOT FLUSHED WITH DOOR. DOOR NO LONGER LOCKS ESSENTIALLY LEAVING MY CAR UNPROTECTED FROM THEFT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED (10-35 MPH) THE CAR QUICKLY GAINS SPEED (THE RPM DOES NOT INCREASE) AND THEN SLOWS DOWN AGAIN AND IT FEELS LIKE THE GEARS SHIFT DOWN ALTHOUGH IT DOESN'T SEEM POSSIBLE. THE GAS PEDAL STOPS WORKING AND A WRENCH SHOWS ON THE DASH BOARD, THE CAR SLOWLY DECREASES IN SPEED. AS I COME TO A STOP THE CAR JUMPS AND LURCHES VIOLENTLY. I TURN THE CAR OFF, WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND TURN THE CAR BACK ON. THE WRENCH GOES AWAY HOWEVER AFTER THIS HAPPENS 5 MORE TIME THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. I READ IN THE FORUM PEOPLE DESCRIBING ISSUES SIMILAR AND EXACTLY THAT SAME AS MINE AND IT SEEMED AS THOU IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY. COULD NOT AFFORD THE PART SO I WAITED AND IT WENT AWAY. THIS STOPPED FOR ROUGHLY 5 MONTHS AND THEN STARTS AGAIN (OCT 2012). NOW IT HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. VERY, VERY DANGEROUS! I SPOKE TO A MECHANIC AT A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THAT HE IS NOT AWARE OF ANY ISSUES SIMILAR TO MINE.....I FIND IT A LITTLE HARD TO BELIEVE THAT I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN MY AREA WITH THIS PROBLEM. I SUGGESTED HE LOOK AT THE FORUM. I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THE POWERS THAT BE AT FORD HAVE NO CONCERN FOR OUR SAFETY, THE SAFETY OF OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD, THEIR REPUTATION AND REFUSE TO STAND BEHIND A PRODUCT THAT REPORTEDLY WON SAFETY AWARDS. VERY UNFORTUNATE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT STUDS AND LUG NUTS WERE DETACHING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED THAT THE STUDS WERE FRACTURED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
WITHOUT WARNING THE CAR LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THIS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF TWO DAYS, SOMETIMES AT SPEEDS UP TO 70 MPH. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, WHEN CAR DECELERATED, AND STARTED TO STALL. A WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON, AND I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY MAKE MY WAY TO A DRIVEWAY OFF OF THE MAIN HIGHWAY. HOWEVER, IT APPEARS, BASED ON MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS, THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL/REPLACE THIS PART. I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I ACCELERATED THROUGH THE LIGHT. UPON MAKING THE TURN, THE CAR STALLED (SHUDDERED, AND ALTHOUGH APPLYING THE GAS, NOTHING HAPPENED) AND THE 'WRENCH' ICON ILLUMINATED. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (THANKFULLY THERE WAS LITTLE TRAFFIC AT THIS TIME OF DAY), TURNED THE CAR OFF, WAITED A MINUTE, AND RE-STARTED THE CAR. THE AVERAGE SPEED FOR THAT DAY WAS 30MPH, THROUGH NEIGHBORHOODS AND LIGHT COMMERCIAL AREA. THE CAR STALLED ONCE AGAIN (ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER) WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, AT ANOTHER INTERSECTION. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AGAIN, AND TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. THE STALLING HAS REOCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES, EVEN WHEN SLOWING, BUT NOT STOPPING, AND ATTEMPTING TO RESUME SPEED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE THROTTLE BODY. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, THE THROTTLE SENSOR (ON ADVICE FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN THE AREA), AND AFTER 1 MONTH OF THIS ISSUE REOCCURRING, HAD THE FORD DEALERSHIP 'FLASH' THE COMPUTER. THIS HAS STILL NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. TYPICALLY AFTER 2 DAYS OF RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE FROM THE MECHANIC, THE SAME STALLING WITH THE WRENCH ICON OCCURS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! MANY VEHICLES ARE STALLING IN TRAFFIC, AND ACCIDENTS WILL OCCUR! *JS
UPON STARTING MY CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY, A MESSAGE APPEARED ACROSS THE DASHBOARD READING "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" ALSO "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC". I BOUGHT THIS CAR NOT EVEN 8 MONTHS AGO, THE MILEAGE BEING OVER WHAT A WARRANTY COULD COVER. TWICE I WAS TURNED AWAY BECAUSE THE VEHICLE BEING TOO "NEW" THE CODING COULD NOT BE DETECTED, READING THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. CLEARLY WITH NO POWER STEERING, AND THE MESSAGES GOING OFF...THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST OF THIS EXACT SAME COMPLAINT I HAVE FOUND ONLINE REGARDING THE SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF THIS VEHICLE. IT IS NOW SITTING AT A GARAGE AND I AM WAITING ON THE VERDICT. I PURCHASED MY CAR USED ON NOVEMBER 30, 2012 WHEN THE MILEAGE WAS AROUND 29,000. FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY CAR WOULD HESITATE, BUT NOT COMPLETELY STALL, WHEN GOING APPROX. 25, 35 AND 45, AND SOMETIMES EVEN WHEN I FIRST TOOK OFF. THE ONLY THING I COULD COMPARE IT TO WAS HAVING A TIRE TO BLOW OUT BUT MUCH, MUCH WORSE. I CHECKED MY TIRES AND, THEN I STARTED THE CAR UP AND KEPT GOING TO MY DESTINATION. A FEW DAYS LATER IT OCCURRED AGAIN ON A RURAL ROAD WHERE I WAS GOING 55. I ONCE AGAIN STOPPED AND STARTED IT AGAIN AND MADE IT TO MY DESTINATION. THIS TRULY SCARED ME TO WHERE MY NERVES WERE FRAZZLED, AND EVERY TIME I DRIVE NOW, I'M AFRAID IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I AM IN A RURAL AREA THAT IS MOUNTAINOUS AND WHERE 18-WHEELERS CONSTANTLY TRAVEL THE INTERSTATES, WHICH MAKES IT THAT MUCH MORE DANGEROUS. I WAS DRIVING AT SPEEDS AROUND 45 WHEN THE "ADVANCE TRACK" WARNING APPEARED, AT WHICH TIME I LOST POWER STEERING, THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR USED. IT'S HAPPENED A TOTAL OF AROUND10 TIMES WHILE DRIVING. ONCE WHILE I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IF THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF THEN BACK ON, IT WOULD CLEAR THE FAULT OUT. SINCE THIS HAS HAPPENED, THE CAR HAS SUFFERED A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER PRIOR TO THE COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE, THERE FOR COULDN'T FIX ANYTHING UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVEN'T TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR NOW BECAUSE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND NOW IT'S NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE FUSION. IT'S DANGERS BECAUSE IT HAPPENS UNEXPECTEDLY AND SOMETIMES WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN, LIKE WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE OUT OF THE 10 TIMES. I FEEL THAT THE FACT THAT I'M A COMMERCIAL DRIVER ONLY HELPED ME TO KNOW WHAT TO DO. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THE ENGINE SUDDENLY CUT OUT AND BEGAN A ROUGH IDLE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT REV EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL PUSHED IN. COASTED TO A STOP. TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH LIGHT WERE NO LONGER LIT. STARTED TO ACCELERATE AWAY AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH LIGHT ON. I WAS ABLE TO IDLE HOME. ONCE AT HOME I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP. THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BUT NOT THE WRENCH. WHILE IN PARK I WOULD REV THE ENGINE AND IT SOUNDED FINE AND COULD NOT GET THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN WHILE REVVING. I DIDN'T MOVE THE CAR AND HAD IT TOWED. FORTUNATELY IT HAS ONLY 32707 MILES ON IT AND COVERED BY WARRANTY. SO, WILL HAVE TO WAIT TO FIND OUT WHAT THE CAUSE IS. BASED ON OTHER COMPLAINTS AND THEIR FOLLOW-UP IT SOUNDS LIKE THE THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. *TR
