TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT REGAINED CONTROL AFTER THE VEHICLE SWERVED AND PULLED OVER. THE TRACT STEERING LIGHT AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK HOME. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DAVIDSON FORD OF CLAY (3690 STATE ROUTE 31, LIVERPOOL, NY 13090, (877) 810-7456) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD BE CONTACTED TO SEE IF ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
MY POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT CAME ON MY CAR. I TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON AND IT WENT OFF AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. THIS MORNING I GET IN MY CAR TO COME WORK AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THEN TURNED IT BACK ON, THIS TIME IT DID NOT GO OFF AND THE POWER STEERING WAS NO DRIVEABLE AT ALL. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT WASN'T DRIVEABLE AND THEN WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO VEHICLES TO LOAN TO US TO DRIVE. UNACCEPTABLE IN OUR BOOK!
DRIVING ABOUT 40 MPH AND THE "POWER STEERING FAILURE" LIGHT APPEARED AND THE STEERING FELT HEAVIER. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE CAR FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED BACK ON THE MESSAGE DID NOT REAPPEAR. VEHICLE MILEAGE IS ABOUT 140K.
WHEN I BROUGHT THE 2011 FORD FUSION THE POWER STEERING FAULT CAME ON AND WENT ON AND OFF AND HAD CAR LOOKED AT THEY DID NOT DETECT A PROBLEM THIS WAS LIKE 11/2018 AND THEN LATER ON IN FACT YEARS LATER THE POWER STEERING FAULT CAME ON AND OFF AND FINALLY STAYED ON WITHOUT GOING OFF. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER CAR. WAS ON THE ROAD HAD TO BE VERY CAREFUL DRIVING HOME. I HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL BUT IT HAS SINCE EXPIRED FOR A RACK AND PINION AND THAT I WOULD BE LIABLE FOR THE COST TO REPAIR. THE FIRST PART OF THE RECALL WAS TO TRY TO RESET IT BUT IN MY CASE IT DID NOT WORK SO I WAS OUT OF 160 AND HAD TO PAY FOR FURTHER REPAIR A RACK AND PINION, WHICH WAS IN UPWARDS OF 1500. HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THE RECALL I WOULD'VE GOT IT REPAIRED BEFORE I BROUGHT THE CAR. THEY TOLD ME THE RECALL HAD EXPIRED IN 2019 THEY COULD NOT REPAIR IT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THEY WAY THEY HANDLED IT I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST COVERED THE PARTS.
Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 21V158000 (Air Bags) and 19V001000 (Air Bags) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who stated that parts were not yet available for the recall repairs. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue however, no further assistance was provided. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags). A SAFETY RECALL WORK ON THE POWER STEERING OCCURRED JUNE 2019. THE POWER STEERING FAILED AT 60MPH ON 12/29/2020. WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP, YOU NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I NEVER BELIEVED THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED BECAUSE THE SAME GROANING NOISE CONTINUED AFTERWARDS. FORD NEEDS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 224,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 FORD FUSION HYBRID AT AROUND THIRTY MPH ON A CITY STREET AND MY BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT POPPED UP ON THE DASHBOARD. AS SOON AS THAT HAPPEN I HAD NO BRAKES, AND THERE WAS NO RESISTANCE IN THE BRAKES. THEY WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR, LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR WITH MY EMERGENCY BRAKE. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE BRAKES WORKED FINE AFTER THAT.

THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO FIRESTONE AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING ROD AND RACK & PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,603.
ACTIVATION OF THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM CAUSES A LOSS OF BRAKING - PEDAL GOES NEARLY TO THE FLOOR. THE CONDITION CAN SOMETIMES BE REVERSED BY RAPID PUMPING OF THE BRAKES. SUSPECT FAULTY HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) - STICKING VALVES. THE 2011 MODELS SHOULD ABSOLUTELY HAVE BEEN COVERED IN THE RECALL FOR 2008-2010 MODELS. PLEASE AD THIS MODEL YEAR TO NHSTA 19V904000. THIS IS A KNOWN DANGER AND FORD MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEFECT/RESOLUTION. THANKS!
Steering wines very bad and steering wheel will not return after turning unless you turn it back straight. The rack seems to be out of it.
POWER STERRING STOPPED WORKING, WHILE IN A TURN AND NEARLY CRASHED. I PULLED OVER, AND TURNED OFF THE CAR AND THEN RESTARTED, AND THE POWER STERRING STARTED WORKING AGAIN.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FIRST STARTED, THERE IS POWER STEERING. THEN AFTER DRIVING FOR 5 MINUTES OR SO, IT LOSSES POWER STEERING AND GOES INTO MANUAL STEERING MODE. THIS HAPPENED 3 OR 4 TIMES AND NOW THERE IS NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. THERE WAS A RECALL DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE IN 2015 BUT I DID NOT OWN THIS VEHICLE AT THIS TIME AND AM UNSURE IF THE RECALL WAS REPAIRED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 140,000 MILES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER ASSIST FAULT MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED PRIOR TO THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMING VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER TOLIVER FORD LOCATED AT 1311 S PACIFIC ST, MINEOLA, TX 75773 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal would depress to the floorboard without warning. The contact stated that extra brake travel time was needed for the vehicle to come to a complete stop. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and the contact had her brake lining and rotor assembly were replaced. The mechanic also informed her that the brake master cylinder and hydraulic control assembly might also need replacement. The parts were not replaced. Despite the repair, the failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to check the repairs that were performed on the vehicle. The mechanic informed her that the work was repaired; the mechanic referred her to the NHTSA to file a complaint. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 44,924

THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR HAS STOPPED WORKING. THE DRIVER'S DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED WITH THE DOOR CAN ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. I CAN ONLY EXIT THE VEHICLE BY EITHER CLIMBING OVER THE CONSOLE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OR PUTTING THE WINDOW DOWN AND USING THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. SUCH A BASIC SAFETY FEATURE AS A DOOR HANDLE SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT, OR IMPOSSIBLE, TO EXIT THE VEHICLE QUICKLY.
THIS IS A RECALL ON THE NON 3.5L ALREADY BUT MINE IS THE 3.5L. SOMETIMES WHEN I WOULD TURN THE CAR ON THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" ALERT WOULD COME ON ON THE DASH CONTROL PANEL. I WOULD NOT HAVE POWER STEERING. I COULD TURN MY CAR OFF THEN BACK ON AND IT WOULD BE GONE AND I WOULD HAVE POWER STEERING AGAIN. WELL THIS PAST TIME I TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THE ALERT DID NOT GO AWAY THIS TIME. I HAVE NO POWER STEERING.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT ERROR. NOW THE STEERING DOES NOT WORK SO THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN. ERROR APPEARED WHEN STARTING THE CAR
THE POWER STEERING IN THE VEHICLE HAS FAILED TWO TIMES OVER THE PAST WEEK. DASHBOARD LIGHT SAYS "POWER STEERING FAULT." THE PROBLEM HAPPENED ONCE WHILE STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT AND ANOTHER TIME WHILE BACKING THE VEHICLE UP. TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND OFF TEMPORARILY FIXES THE PROBLEM.
STEERING LOCKED AND CAUSED THE CAR TO SWERVE SERVERLY, THIS CAN BE VERY FATAL LUCKILY NO ONE WAS ON THE ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT WAS DIRECTED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. MY SON WAS DRIVING HOME IN HIS 2011 FORD FUSION WHEN HE GOT A POWER STEERING ALERT AND THE WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN. LUCKILY HE HAD A STRAIGHT STRETCH ON THE HIGHWAY AND MADE IT HOME SAFELY. WHEN TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND AFTER SEEING A FIELD SAFETY ALERT FOR THIS ISSUE. FORD REFUSED TO HONOR THE FIELD SAFETY ALERT DUE TO MILEAGE AND WE PAID ALMOST $2000 FOR REPAIRS.

THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THREE MONTHS LATER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

THE CONTACT PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES AND THE VEHICLE SLOWLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GRAY-DANIELS FORD LINCOLN (201 OCTAVIA DRIVE, BRANDON, MS 39042, (601) 825-2801) TO BE INSPECTED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS ON THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 185,772.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the electric power steering assist became inoperable. The electric steering assist failure and the service advance track messages were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering). The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The contact stated he doesn't understand why his vehicle wasn't included in the recall because the vehicle was made 4 days before the recall date.
RECENTLY THE VEHICLE LOSE POWER AND THE MESSAGE WOULD INDICATE "POWER ASSIST FAULT' AND THE FEW TIMES IT HAPPENNED I WOULD SHUT OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM WOULD RESOLVE ITSELF. HOWEVER AS OF 10/25/2020 THE PROBLEM REMAINS. AFTER RESEARCH I LEARNED MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT 8/5/2011 ONE MONTH PRIOR TO THE RECALLED FUSIONS HOW IS THIS NOT INCLUDED? WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS FROM THIS VEHICLE REGARDING THIS MATTER. THIS LAST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED AFTER RETURNING AN ERRAND CAR WAS PARKED IN PARKING LOT AND I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE CAR UNTIL THE VEHICLE NEXT TO ME MOVED THEIR VEHICLE DUE TO INABILITY TO TURN THE WHEEL.
MY CAR HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY FINE FOR THE MOST PART UNTIL ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO , WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON, SO I WENT AND AIRED UP THE TIRES, THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WENT OFF BUT THEN THE SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT AND ADVANCE TIRE TRACTION APPEARED AT THIS TIME IM PULLING BACK INTO MY DRIVE WAY, THEN I CAME OUT MY HOUSE A FEW HOURS TO LEAVE AND THE STIRRING WHEEL WAS LOCKED I TRIED TO DRIVE IT AND NOW THE STRRING WHEELS GOES TO THE RIGHT I NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE LET ALONE ANY WARNING SIGNS .. I LOOKED INTO RECALLS WITH FORD AND IT SHOWED MY 2011 FORD FUSION HAD RECALLS FOR WHATS GOING ON, SO I CALLED A LINCOLN FORD DEALERSHIP THAT SAID BRING IT IN THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR A WEEK AND WHEN I PICKED IT UP NOTHING WAS FIXED ON IT AND THEY HAD NO PAPERWORK TO GIVE ME THE SHOW THEY FIXED IT SO I RETURNED MY CAR THE VERY NEXT DAY BECAUSE WHEN I DROVE OFF IT WAS STILL DOING EXACTLY THE SAME THING BUT WORSE SO NOW THEY'VE HAD MY CAR FOR A WEEK AND THEY CALLED ME THIS MORNING TO TELL ME MY CAR HAS BEEN DOING THE SAME EXACT THING AND IT IS THE WIRE HARNESS THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND IT'S NOT UNDER THE RECALL BUT IT IS PART OF THE POWER STEERING SO I DON'T GET IT
VEHICLE WAS PARKED, UPON ENTERING AND STARTUP RECEIVED A MESSAGE REGARDING POWER STEERING FAILURE
MULTIPLE TIMES NOW THIS HAS HAPPENED... I'LL GIVE YOU THE MOST NERVE WRACKING EXPERIENCE, WHERE I HONESTLY WAS SCARED FOR MY LIFE. IT WAS 10:30PM, I WAS DRIVING OUT OF TOWN ON MY WAY BACK HOME FROM A FRIENDS, ON A TINY 2 LANE ROAD GOING 55, ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL OF MY POWER CUT OUT! NO RADIO, HEADLIGHTS, HAZARD LIGHTS WOULDN'T EVEN WORK!!! I HAD TO SLOW DOWN IN THE PITCH BLACK DARKNESS, HOPING TO GOD THERE WASN'T ANY DEER. ON TOP OF THAT... JUST WAITING FOR ANOTHER CAR TO TURN DOWN THE ROAD I WAS ON, BARRELING AT ME AT 55MPH. I WAS TERRIFIED! MY BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR ARE FINE. THE ELECTRIC FINALLY CAME BACK ON AFTER A FEW MINUTES... BUT THIS COULD HAVE HAD A VERY DIFFERENT ENDING.
THE POWER STEERING IS NOT WORKING AT ALL AND THE POWER STEERING LIGHT IS ON.. IN THE PAST,, THETRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM WOULD GO OUT ON OCCASION AND THR TCS WARNING LIGHT WOULD APPEAR, BUT THE TCS WOULD START TO WORK AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE FIRST TIME WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2020. I STARTED MY CAR AFTER BEING PARKED AT WORK FOR 9 HOURS. NO ONE WAS PARKED NEXT TO ME, NO DAMAGE ON MY CAR EITHER. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. AT SOME POINT IN THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS (4 OR LESS) I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO SUNSET FORD IN SUNSET HILLS, MO FOR A RECALL OF SOME SORT. THE ONLY OTHER PROBLEM I'VE HAD WITH MY CAR IS THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SHAKES. THE BOLTS KEEPING THE SEAT TO THE FRAME OF THE CAR ARE TIGHT. SO I'M NOT REALLY SURE OF THE IISSUE.

The contact stated that after entering and starting the vehicle, the contact attempted to make a turn to exit the parking spot however, the vehicle loss power steering functionality. The power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence with manual steering. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost of the replacement part. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,115.
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON A CITY STREET AT ABOUT 45 MPH, THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING SO THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO FULLY STOP SAFELY. THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF A TIRE AND BURNING INSIDE OF THE WHEEL. THE ABS SYSTEM SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AND WE WERE LUCKY THAT WE DIDN'T HIT ANYONE.
WHEN MY WIFE GOT IN HER CAR TO GO TO WORK, THE DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH. WHEN PUSHING THE DOOR ALL THE WAY TO THE CLOSED POSITION IT APPEARED AS IF IT WAS SHUT, BUT THERE WAS NEVER ANY FORCE HOLDING THE DOOR IN PLACE. WE MANAGED TO GET THE DOOR TO APPEAR CLOSED BY ME PUSHING IT SHUT AND HER HITTING THE LOCK BUTTON FROM THE INSIDE. AT THIS POINT, IF SHE ONLY PUSHED OUT A LITTLE BIT ON THE DOOR, IT SEEMED THE LATCH WOULD HOLD. HOWEVER, SHE TOLD ME IT FLUNG OPEN WHEN SHE MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN TO DROP IT OFF AT THE MECHANIC'S. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE HAS A NEVER BEEN ANY PROBLEM WITH THE LATCH OF THE DRIVER DOOR. THIS VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN WE DISCOVERED THE ISSUE.
RECALL CODE P0456 WAS REPAIRED BY DEALER. SENT BACK TO DEALER TO BE TOLD THEY GAVE ME A FAULTY PART. CODE COMES BACK ON, SO I SENT CAR TO DIFFERENT DEALER FOR REPAIR. IT WAS REPAIRED BUT NOW CODE CANE BACK ON FOR THE 3RD TIME NOW. CODE IS ON NOW AFTER REPAIRED A WEEK AGO. I WAS NOT GIVEN A LOANER CAR AND THEY HAD MY CAR FOR A WEEK. I DO NOT WANT TO KEEP GOING BACK AND FORTH DUE TO A RECALL
DESPITE A RECALL (RECALL 15S18), POWER STEERING FAULT ALERT SHOWS UP UNEXPECTEDLY, AS WELL AS SERVICE ADVANCETRAC (TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM). IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING (IN MOTION) ON A HIGHWAY GETTING OFF TO A CITY STREET, I GET THE ALERT INDICATING SERVICE POWER STEERING. WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, I ATTEMPT TO TURN OFF AND TURN ON MY VEHICLE TO GET RID OF THE ALERT, BUT DOESN'T GO AWAY. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE MY RESIDENCE, I UNEXPECTEDLY RECEIVED A 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT' MESSAGE, RESULTING IN MY STEERING WHEEL BECOMING INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO TURN, RENDERING MY VEHICLE INOPERABLE. THIS IS UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ACCORDINGLY.
I LOST THE CONTROL OF POWER STEERING AND ERROR MESSAGE APPEAR ON THE DISPLAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD GOING ABOUT 30 MPH. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED AND MY CAR WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL AND I NEEDED TO PAY $2000+ TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE.

HEATER/DEFROST BLOWER SPEED CONTROLLER AND ASSOCIATED WIRING FAILURE CAUSING WIRE SMOKE COMING OUT FROM UNDER DASH BOARD. IF I DIDN'T TURN OFF CLIMATE CONTROL, I SUSPECT IT COULD HAVE ESCALATED TO AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. WITHOUT DEFROST WORKING, IT IS HARD TO SEE OUT OF WINDSHIELD.

I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED. TESTED ALL FUNCTIONS OF THE CAR BEFORE A DECIDED TO BUY IT. THE HEATED DRIVERS SEAT WORKED FINE WHEN I PURCHASED IT. I WENT TO USE THE HEATED SEAT ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER, IT CAME ON AND ABOUT 30 SECS LATER WENT OFF AND HASN'T WORKED SINCE. THE PASSENGER SEAT WORKS FINE BUT NOT THE DRIVERS SEAT. IN CHECKING DIFFERENT FORD FORUMS, IT APPEARS THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE HEATED SEAT IN FUSIONS. THIS APPEARS TO BE HAPPENING IN ANY SITUATION. STANDING STILL, DRIVING OR RUNNING OR NOT.
FAILURE OF THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSY. T\INTERNAL FAULT CODE P2112 CAUSED THE POWER ON CAR TO GO TO LIMP MODE. THIS CREATED A DANGEROUS SITUATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE ITEM HAS BEEN FLAGGED IN FEBRUARY 21, 2013 NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE13003ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE13003 FORD HAS FAILED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE. THIS OCCURRED 17 AUG 2020. THE VEHICLE WAS AT 152,000 MILES AND HAD BEEN SERVICED REGULAR BY FORD SINCE PURCHASE IN 2011. THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE NEVER OCCURRED. I HAD STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND MADE A RIGHT TURN ON TO EXPRESSWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. WITH NO ACCELERATION THIS BECAME A DANGEROUS SITUATION VERY QUICKLY. I EXPECTED TO ACCELERATE TO 45MPH BUT COULD BARLEY CREEP TO 20 MPH MAX.

THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER-IN-LAW DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 183,919.
AT AROUND 125000 MILES I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY ROAD AROUND 20 MILES PER HOUR. I HIT MY BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I PARKED THE VEHICLE AND PUMPED THE BRAKES WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND THE BRAKE REGAINED FULL PRESSURE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PEP BOYS AND THEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. NEITHER AUTO SHOP COULD FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. AT ABOUT 130000 MILES I WAS ON AN EXIT RAMP SLIGHTLY TURNING MY VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AT ABOUT 30 MPH, THE BRAKE WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. I WAS NOT ABLE TO REGAIN PRESSURE IN THE BRAKES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PEP BOYS, THEY TOLD ME THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER NEED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD A MECHANIC REPLACE BOTH PARTS. THE BRAKES STILL DIDNT WORK. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY WITH FORD, THEY STATE THE MASTER CYLINDER IS LEAKING SO THAT PART NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED. I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND OTHER YEARS OF THE FORD FUSION. NOT SURE IF THIS WILL BE A SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE.
