STEER ASSIST FAULT WHEN I WAS ON I-95, FROM PROVIDENCE TO BOSTON. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING, JUST A SUDDEN LOST OF ASSIST, AND STEER BECAME TOO HEAVY TO HANDLE. IT ALMOST RESULTED TO A CAR ACCIDENT. I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT ABOUT A RECALL FOR SIMILAR STEER ASSIST FAULT REASONS ON FORD FUSION, BUT MY CAR FOR WHATEVER REASON WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL.

I MOVED THE SHIFT LEVER TO PARK AND REMOVED THE IGNITION KEY,BUT THE CAR STAYED IN NEUTRAL WITH NO WARNING MESSAGE OR AUDIBLE CHIME. THE SHIFT STICK IS NOW STUCK AND THE CAR REMAINS IN NEUTRAL. I AM UNABLE TO SHIFT GEARS AND WAS LUCKY THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT. I LOOKED IT UP AND THERE ARE RECALLS FOR OTHER MODELS AS WELL BUT NOT MINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP, IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF A POLICE OFFICER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT FAILED AND DID NOT ENGAGE INTO DRIVE, PARK, REVERSE, OR NEUTRAL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT BOTH REAR DOORS AND THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO LATCH. ALSO, THE ENGINE RESERVE HOSE FAILED AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHO REPLACED THE DOOR LATCHES AND THE ENGINE HOSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS. THE GEAR SHIFT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
DOOR LATCH RECALL. I HAVE A 2013 FORD FUSION THAT THE DRIVER LATCH FAILED. MY CAR WAS BUILT DURING THE TIME FRAME GIVEN IN THE RECALL AND THE PLANT THAT IT CAME FROM. FORD TELLS ME THAT MY CAR IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. BUT THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN ME A CLEAR RESPONSE OTHER THAN MY VIN DOES NOT FALL INTO THE CATEGORY FOR THE RECALL. I AM GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO GIVE ME THE EXACT REASON AS TO WHY IT IS NOT INCLUDED. I HAVE ATTACHED THE CORRESPONDENCE WITH FORD.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CORD WAS SMOKING AND OVERHEATED WHILE PLUGGED INTO THE WALL OUTLET. THE CORD WAS REPLACED TWICE. SALINAS VALLEY FORD LINCOLN (1100 AUTO CENTER CIR, SALINAS, CA 93907, (831) 444-4444) WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON 95 NORTH FROM US 100 TO PALM COAST PARKWAY I STARTED TO SMELL COOLANT IN THE CAR STARTED TO OVERHEAT. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND COAST UNTIL HE CAME TO A STOP. UPON OPENING THE HOOD I SAW A 2 TO 3 INCH HOLE IN THE SIDE OF THE HOSE GOING FROM THE RADIATOR TO THE ENGINE.
TRANSMISSION JUST WENT OUT, IT WILL REV UP BUT NOT HO INTO GEAR. IT WAS IN MOTION AND WHEN IT WAS SLOWING DOWN IT DIDNT DOWN SHIFT AND JUST STOPPED MOVING.
I'M ON LUNCH AT WORK, AND GO TO PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE.. NOTHING WON'T BUDGE, SO I TRY PUTTING IT REVERSE NOTHING ITS STUCK IN PARK. AFTER WAITING 4 HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK, AND GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I'M TOLD ITS THE BUSHING CABLE WHICH HAS A RECALL ON IT... JUST NOT MY VIN. ALSO THE REPAIRS ARE GOING TO COST 500 DOLLARS, AND THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER FOR THREE WEEKS. SO NOT ONLY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR FOR THREE WEEKS, I HAVE TO PAY 500 DOLLARS FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE BUSHING ON THE END OF THE CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 144,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
UPON PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT MY CAR INTO PARK AND THE SHIFTER BECOME HARD AND IMMOVABLE. I HAD TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE, AND WAS EVENTUALLY TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC TO HAVE THE GEAR SHIFT CONTROL CABLE REPLACED FOR THE GEAR SHIFTER TO WORK AGAIN. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SWITCHING THE SHIFTER INTO THE PARK POSITION THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL DOWN A SLIGHT INCLINE. WHILE INSPECTING UNDER THE HOOD IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE BUSHING HAD DISCONNECTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE REPLACED THE BUSHING AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE LOCAL DEALER AUTONATION FORD (23775 CENTER RIDGE RD. STE. WESTLAKE, OH) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 111,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CASA FORD (5815 MONTANA AVE, EL PASO, TX 79925 (915) 779-2272) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL (THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY THE RECALL INFORMATION) HAD EXPIRED WITH NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE DRIVING 65MPH ON A BACK ROAD LEAVING HARRIS CO. MY CAR STARTED TO SPEED UP WITHOUT ME PRESSING THE PADDLE AND WHEN I PUSHED THE BRAKES I HAD TO PUSH IT SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD WORK AND SLOW DOWN THE CAR. IT PRETTY MUCH MADE US JERK FORWARD WHEN THE BRAKES STARTED TO WORK. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN UNTIL WEDNESDAY OCT. 24, 2018 AND DON'T KNOW WHO TO CONTACT. I HAD MY DAUGHTER AND NIECE IN THE CAR COMING FROM MY SON FOOTBALL GAME. THAT WAS SCARY AND I HOPE IT DON'T HAPPEN AGAIN.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT, CAR WAS PARKED STARTED ENGINE AND HAD NO POWER STEERING.
THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION ON 10/22/2018. THE DEFECT CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO BE IN A GEAR STATE (REVERSE) DIFFERENT THAN THE GEAR SHIFT POSITION SELECTED BY ME (DRIVE). MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE IN THE CAR, AND THE ISSUE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO HIT A BUSH AT MY DAUGHTER'S PRESCHOOL, BECAUSE WHEN I HIT THE GAS, THE CAR WENT BACKWARDS INSTEAD OF FORWARDS INTO A PARKING SPOT IN THE PARKING LOT. I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE AND ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS INJURED IN THE INCIDENT, AND THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED NO BODY DAMAGE. I GOOGLED THE ISSUE, AND WITH MY WIFE, WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY CHANGE THE GEAR IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO DRIVE, AND I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO OUR TRUSTED MECHANIC ABOUT A MILE AWAY. MY GOOGLE RESEARCH INDICATED THAT SOME 2013 FORD FUSIONS WERE SUBJECT TO RECALL FOR THE ISSUE, SO I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (ROUSH FORD) TO DETERMINE WHETHER MY VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP, AND LATER FORD CONFIRMED BY PHONE THAT MY VEHICLE, WITH ITS VIN, WAS NOT SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. THE FORD CASE NUMBER FOR MY REQUEST IS CAS16129095. SINCE MY ISSUE IS THE SAME AS THAT FOR OTHER 2013 FUSIONS SUBJECT TO RECALL, MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO RECALL AND REIMBURSEMENT FROM FORD. I NEED MY VEHICLE FOR WORK, HOWEVER, SO MY MECHANIC, VALENTINO'S, IS REPAIRING THE VEHICLE TODAY FOR AROUND $350, INCLUDING PARTS AND LABOR. I EXPECT TO BE LATER REIMBURSED FOR THESE REPAIRS BY FORD.
"TAKATA RECALL" BUT NOT SURE. STARTED MY CAR DROVE THROUGH A PARKING LOT AT LOW SPEED. WHEN PULLING ONTO THE HIGHWAY MY FRONT AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON. PULLED OFF THE ROAD TURNED OFF MY CAR. LOOKED AT OWNERS MANUAL. STARTED CAR, MOVED MY DRIVERS SEAT BACK AND DROVE HOME LEANING MY BODY TO THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE. LIGHT STAYED ON ALL THE WAY. I CALLED MY REGULAR MECHANIC ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HE INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULD NOT TOUCH THE CAR DUE TO THE RECALL AND TO CALL THE DEALER. CALLED FORD WHEN I GOT TO MY HOME. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE SYSTEMS WERE DOWN AND NOT TO DRIVE CAR. IT WAS EXTREMELY UNNERVING TO GET HOME.
LOUD CRACKING SOUNDS COMING FROM SPEAKERS CAUSED BY A FAILED AUDIO CONTROL MODULE, ONLY 82K MILES IN. CAR BATTERY DRAINING, WEEKLY REQUIRED JUMP-STARTS WITH BRAND NEW BATTERY INSTALLED.
FORD FUSION RECALL - COOLANT LEAKS / ENGINE OVERHEATING AND FIRES I BOUGHT A 2013 FORD FUSION WITH 36,000 MILES ON IT LESS THAN THREE MONTHS AGO. THIS VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE 2017 RECALL DUE TO COOLANT LEAKS AND ENGINE OVERHEATING ISSUES WHICH HAVE RESULTED IN ENGINE FIRES. THE RECALL DID NOT PROVIDE ANY REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENTS TO THE COOLANT SYSTEM BUT INSTEAD INSTALLED A SENSOR INTENDED TO NOTIFY THE DRIVER WHEN OVERHEATING WAS OCCURRING AND TO SHUT DOWN THE CAR ENGINE BEFORE A FIRE IGNITED. MY CAR DID GET THIS SENSOR BEFORE I BOUGHT IT AND A PRESSURE TEST WAS PERFORMED, HOWEVER A COOLANT LEAK IS STILL PRESENT AND THE VEHICLE DID OVERHEAT TO THE POINT OF ENGINE AND COMPUTER SHUT DOWN. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO LONG-TERM FIX SUGGESTED BY FORD OR THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS ISSUE. THE EXISTING RECALL DOES NOT PROTECT THE DRIVER OR CAR OCCUPANTS OF IMMINENT DANGER FROM ENGINE FIRES OR FROM PROPERTY DAMAGE.
KEY NOT DETECTED MESSAGE CAME ON WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AS I WAS DRIVING. THEN THE NEXT DAY IT WOULD NOT START.
SIMILAR TO RECALL NUMBER: 17V210000. MY DOOR LATCHES ON THE PASSENGER AND THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. THIS FIRST DOOR HAPPENED 10/16/18 AND THE SECOND TODAY 4/13/19. I HAD THE FIRST ONE FIXED AS PART OF MY WARRANTY. THE SECOND ONE JUST OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED IT JUST WILL NOT LATCH. THE ONLY REASON I NOTICED WAS THAT THE DOOR INDICATION LIGHT SAID IT WAS OPEN. IF I HAD DRIVEN AWAY IT COULD OF CAUSED PROBLEMS.
"BROKEN SHIFTER CABLES RECALL" I PARKED MY CAR AND ATTEMPTED TO GO INTO A I WENT TO PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE AND THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE FROM PARK. THE DASHBOARD READ "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK", BUT THE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN FACT IN "PARK". THE DASHBOARD LISTED THE CAR AS BEING IN "NEUTRAL". I WAS ABLE TO RESET A BUTTON AND GET THE CAR IN GEAR, BUT THE CAR WOULD ONLY MOVE FORWARD. IT WILL NOT MOVE IN REVERSE . I TOOK THE CAR TO AN AUTO MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING WAS BROKEN AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL FOR THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE, ON THE EXACT SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, MY VIN NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. I BELIEVE THIS WAS AN OVERSIGHT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
I GOT RECALL ON DOOR LOCKS TOOK IN 2016 AND DOOR CAME OPEN OCT. 12 2018 THEY WANT ME TO PAY TO GET LOCK FIX
WHILE OPERATING VEHICLE, CHECK ENGINE LITE(S) 2 COME UP, CODE #P0741, TORQUE CONVERTOR CLUTCH AND P1744, TORQUE CONVERTOR CULTCH SOLENOID. GAS MILEAGE HAS CRITICALLY DECREASED FROM AVERAGE OF 34 MPG TO 22 MPG. ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INDICATES ENGINE IS RUNNING COOL, RADIATOR FAN RANDOMLY COMES ON WHILE VEHICLE IS STOPPED BUT RUNNING. 3 FORD DEALERS HAVE RUN COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS. TRANSMISSION PERIODICALLY DOWNSHIFTS, MAKES A CLUNKING SOUND. AFTER OPERATING FOR A FEW HOURS ON LONG DRIVES AND UPON PASSING A VEHICLE, WARNING MESSAGE COMES UP, "VEHICLE LOSS OF POWER" DUE TO OVERHEATING. CANNOT PASS! THIS TRANSMISSION AS SHOWN IN DATA FROM CONSUMER'S REPORT ANNUAL FREQUENCY OF REPAIR, 2013-PRESENT, HAS A HIGH FREQUENCY OF REPAIR, ALSO CONSUMER COMPLAINTS. COM. TRANSMISSION IS MECHANICALLY FLAWED. PLEASE INITIATE AN INVESTIGATION AND GENERATE A RECALL OF THIS VEHICLE. REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
CAR CUTS OFF AND WILL NOT START CODE READS FULE RAIL
THE IDLE OF MY ENGINE IS ROUGH AND WHEN AT A LOW IDLE IN TRAFFIC IT FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL. LATELY, MY CAR COMPLETELY STALLED DRIVING AT LOW SPEED UP A PARKING STRUCTURE. IT COMPLETELY STALLED AGAIN WHEN PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY. I TOOK IT IN, BUT THE MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND A SENSOR TRIGGERING THE ISSUE.
VEHICLE WAS APART ONE OF MANY RECALLS, HAD FIXED, SAME ISSUES ARISED AND HAD ANOTHER RECALL, TOOK BACK IN AND NOW FORD IS STATING WE NEED A NEW ENGINE BUT WONT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE RECALL HAD ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE AND LEAKING INTO A COLANDER WHICH IS THE SAME ISSUE WE ARE HAVING NOW, BUT THEY WONT REPLACE IT UNLESS WE BUY A WHOLE NEW ENGINE OUT OF POCKET. THE ONLY REASON WE KNEW OF ANY RECALLS WAS BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME MY HUSBANDS CAR OVERHEATED, TOWED IT TO FORD AND THE PULLED UP AT LEAST 6 OR 7 RECALLS NEEDING TO BE FIXED. WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED OF THEM ALL. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THE RECALLS AND IT ALL DID A TEMPORARY FIX THAT LEAD TO MORE ISSUES.

THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000. *TT*JB
REVERSED VEHICLE OUT OF PARKING SPOT AND SHIFTED TO DRIVE. CAR KEPT ROLLING BACKWARDS STATING IT WAS STILL REVERSE. TRANSMISSION WON'T SHIFT INTO PARK BUT STAYS IN NEUTRAL.
WHEN I WAS PULLING OUT OF A GAS STATION PARKING LOT I WENT TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, BUT INSTEAD OF IT SHIFTING INTO DRIVE IT WENT ONLY TO NEUTRAL. I ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE BY SHIFTING UP TO NEUTRAL THEN DOWN TO S, THEN UP TO PARK. THE CAR CAR GOT INTO GEAR BUT NOW ITS STUCK IN FIRST GEAR, BUT THE SHIFTER IS IN PARK. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO A SAFE SPOT IN FIRST GEAR. I SHUT THE CAR OFF BUT WILL NOW NOT TURN ON BECAUSE IT'S IN GEAR, AND THE SHIFTER IS STUCK IN PARK.
TAMARA RECALL MY FORD FUSION MAKE A 'FRAT' NOISE/SOUND THAT COMES FROM THE GAS TANK. WHEN THE NOISE STARTS THE ENGINE WILL NARELY IDLE AND SOMETIMES DIES. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE ROAD OR JUST SITTING IDLING. ONE TIME I WAS PULLING OUT FROM A STOP SIGN WHEN THIS NOISE STARTED AND THE CAR DIED WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMING RIGHT AT ME. OTHER TIMES IT'S JUST AN ANNOYANCE AN THE ENGINE RUNS FINE. WHEN I GOOGLED IT I'VE NOTICED THAT SEVERAL OTHER FORD FUSIONS WITH THE TURBO ENGINE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING OFF AND ON AGAIN FOR A YEAR AND A HALF NOW. OUR MECHANIC SAYS THE VEHICLE HAS A DEFICIENCY IN THE RACK AND PINION. THEREFORE MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT COSTLY REPAIRS. AFTER RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON FOR THE FORD FUSION AND MOST OF THEM ARE UNDER RECALL. HOWEVER WE SEEM TO HAVE THE ONE FUSION OUR OF MILLIONS THAT IS NOT UNDER RECALL.
RANDOM FAILURE OF LEFT FRONT BRAKE HOSE FROM BODY LINE TO BRAKE CALIPER. VEHICLE HAD ONLY 66,214 MILES ON ODOMETER. HOSE FAILED WITH ZERO WARNING DURING NORMAL BRAKE USAGE WHILE DRIVING IN STRAIGHT LINE RESULTING IN ALMOST NO BRAKING POWER. ZERO SIGNS OF PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO HOSE. CONTACTED DEALER. DEALER INDICATED THAT ORIGINAL FACTORY P\N WAS OBSOLETED AND A NEW P\N WAS BEING ISSUED. DECIDED TO REPLACE ALL (4) BRAKE HOSES FOR FEAR OF ANOTHER FAILURE. I HAVE RETAINED THE FACTORY PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED.
MY POWER STEERING WENT ALL OF A SUDDEN WITH NO WARNING. THERE HAVE BEEN COUNTLESS RECALLS FOR THIS ON MY MAKE AND MODEL BUT NO RECALL FOR MY CAR YET.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST. DOOR WON'T ENGAGE AND REMAINS OPENED, SO I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT FORD HAS NUMEROUS DOOR LATCH RECALLS AND IT APPEARED THAT MY FOCUS OF THE YEARS I OWN WAS INCLUDED. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND WHEN I PULLED IN, THE GREETING PERSON SAW MY BUNGIE CORD SYSTEM TO HOLD THE DOOR SOMEWHAT CLOSED AND HE SAID "OH I KNOW WHY YOU'RE HERE" OBVIOUSLY, HE HAS SEEN THIS MANY TIMES, HOWEVER, WHEN I WENT TO THE DESK, THE REP SAID MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT MYSELF. I LEFT AND CALLED FORD. I TOLD OF THE SITUATION AND SAID THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I WOULD HATE IF SOMETHING TRAGIC HAPPENED WHERE IT WOULD END UP IN A LAW SUIT OR ON THE NEWS. THE REP WHO WAS OBVIOUSLY IN ANOTHER COUNTRY AND I COULD BARELY UNDERSTAND, SAID SHE WAS GOING TO EXPEDITE THIS AND SEND IT TO MY DEALER'S SERVICE MANAGER AND I WAS TO CALL THE NEXT AFTERNOON. I CALLED WAS TRANSFERRED TO A VOICE MAIL WITH NO RESPONSE. I CALLED TWO DAYS LATER AND SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MGR WHO FOUND THE CASE BUT COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHEN WAS WRITTEN. HE SAID HE WOULD CALL ME BACK LATER WHICH HE DID AND TOLD ME THAT FORD WILL NOT COVER THIS. SO NOW I HAVE A CALL TO THE EXECUTIVE TEAM AND AM AWAITING A RESPONSE.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HOME IN MADISON WISCONSIN IN HER 2013 FORD FUSION WITH THE 1.6 L ENGINE. THE CAR HAD ONLY BEEN RUNNING FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES WHEN THE ENGINE COOLANT OVERTEMP WARNING CAME ON. SHE WAS ALREADY IN THE EXIT LANE AND PULLED OFF THE BELTLINE AND STOPPED AT THE BASE OF THE EXIT RAMP AT XXXXXXX TIRE AND AUTO. SHE SHUT THE CAR OFF AND WAS GETTING OUT HER CELL PHONE TO CALL ME WHEN A MAN PULLED UP ALONGSIDE OF HER AND TOLD HER 'LADY YOU HAD BETTER GET OUT OF YOUR CAR BECAUSE IT IS ON FIRE.' THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATION WAS ONLY A BLOCK AWAY AND WAS IMMEDIATELY CALLED WHILE A COUPLE OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS FROM THE TIRE AND AUTO PLACE WERE USED ON IT. IT DID NOT HELP AND THE ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT INCLUDING THE HOOD, FENDERS, WINDSHIELD AND RIGHT FRONT TIRE WERE COMPLETELY BURNED UP. A POLICE AND FIRE REPORT WAS FILLED OUT. THE CAR HAD A LITTLE OVER 75000 MILES ON IT AND HAD BEEN REGULARLY SERVICED. OVER A YEAR AGO THE ENGINE COOLANT BYPASS SOLENOID WAS REPLACED AT THE FORD DEALER IN EVANSVILLE WI. WE NEVER RECEIVED WORD ON THE 2017 RECALL.
