STEERING WHEEL ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION IS LOOSE. FEELS AS IF THE BOLTS HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL ARE LOOSE AND THE SITUATION IS GETTING WORSE.FIRST NOTICED IS IN THE STATIONARY POSITION BUT NOW MOVES EVEN WHEN DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE AND THE POWER STEERING DISABLED WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. SUDDENLY, THE ENGINE INADVERTENTLY CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE OVERHEAT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND NOTICED SMOKE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND BURST INTO FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE AND A FIRE REPORT WERE FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD WHERE IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE DEALER (PENNYRILE FORD, 5505 FORT CAMPBELL BLVD, HOPKINSVILLE, KY 42240) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY REPAIRED THE OVERHEATING FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. ON WAY TO WORK I ON THE MORNING OF 10-12-17 GOING ABOUT 75MPH ON INTERSTATE AND ALL THE SUDDEN THERE WAS A DING AND FLASH OF RED (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) ON THE DASHBOARD STATING ENGINE OVERHEATING AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND CAR BASICALLY WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I LOST ALL POWER, RADIO, LIGHTS ETC. WITH THE MOMENTUM I HAD BUILT UP GOING 75 I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT ACROSS THE 4 LANES TO THE SHOULDER. AN OHIO STATE TROOPER STOPPED TO ASSIST AND WAS DUMB FOUNDED WHEN HE SAY THERE WAS NO POWER, THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SPOKE WITH JAY AND ADVISED THAT CAR WAS BEING TOWED IN. SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT FORD IS STATING THAT IT'S A SAFETY FEATURE TO STOP FIRE FROM HAPPENING, BUT HONESTLY HOW SAFE IS TO HAVE THE ENGINE AND ALL ELECTRICAL POWER COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON INTERSTATE. IT WAS A MATTER OF SECONDS BETWEEN DING, LIGHT AND LOSS OF POWER. CAR WAS TOWED IN USING MY AAA MEMBERSHIP ON A FLATBED TO LIBERTY FORD IN BRUNSWICK, OHIO. I WAS ADVISED LATER THAT DAY THAT IT WAS THE WATER PUMP AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SENSOR THAT WAS RECALLED. I HAD TO USE PTO FOR WORK ON THURSDAY AND CAR WAS READY FOR PICK UP ON 10-13-17 AROUND LUNCH TIME. ON 10-13-17 I HAD TO LEAVE WORK EARLY TO GET TO DEALERSHIP BEFORE THEY CLOSED AT 6PM OTHERWISE I WOULD BE CHARGED $50.00 FOR THE LOANER IF RETURNED ON SATURDAY MORNING. I PICKED UP MY CAR AND IT COST ME @$107.00 FOR THE DEDUCTIBLE SINCE THEY ARE STATING IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL AND THAT IT WAS THE WATER PUMP. ON THE AFTERNOON OF 10-14-17 (@ 12:30-12:45PM) DRIVING IN MEDINA AREA ON WAY TO EVENT WITH NIECE IN THE CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. SEE ATTACHED FOR FULL COMPLAINT AND DOCS
THE STEERING WHEEL ON MY 2013 FUSION TITANIUM IS LOOSE. CURRENT RECALL COVERS 2014. THE STEERING WHEEL CAN ROCK BACK AND FORTH AND SIDE TO SIDE WITH EASE AND MOVES OVER A HALF INCH.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAULT CURRENTLY NOT COVERED ON RECALL ACCORDING TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WILL COST $2000 TO REPLACE
I OWN A 2013 FORD FUSION WITH 94,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON A ONE LANE ROAD AND THE GAS PEDAL BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG PRIOR TO THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION CONTROL. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER ACCELERATION/THROTTLE; HOWEVER, POWER REMAINED ON IN THE VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN A WRENCH LIGHT THAT SAID CHECK MANUAL. I WAS TRAVELING 65MPH AND HAD TO PULL OVER. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN AND IT STARTED UP. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST REPAIR SHOP. THE REPAIR SHOP PERFORMED A FUEL SYSTEM SERVICE AND CLEARED THE CHECK ENGINE AND CHECK MANUAL LIGHTS. FOUR DAYS LATER AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I HAD TO PULL OVER 3 TIMES AND ONCE WHERE I HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN BACK ON IN THE ONE LANE ROAD AS THERE WAS NO PULL OFF AREA. AFTER THE LAST TIME I RESTARTED THE CAR, I HAD A REDUCED THROTTLE BUT MANAGED TO MAKE IT ABOUT 2 MILES TO WORK (AT THIS POINT THE SPEED IS REDUCED TO 45MPH). I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE SAME REPAIR SHOP. THE REPAIR SHOP HAD THEIR MASTER MECHANIC LOOK AT THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT FORD ISSUED A CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03. THIS WAS TO INCLUDE CERTAIN 2009 THROUGH 2013 MODEL YEAR FUSION, MILAN, ESCAPE AND MARINER VEHICLES. I CONTACTED FORD AND WAS TOLD BASED ON THE VIN NUMBER THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS THOSE WITH THE VINS IN THE CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH NO PRIOR WARNING OTHER THAN THE SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION/THROTTLE.
TAKATA RECALL COMPLAINT: TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE CAME OUT FROM GEAR BOX...THE CABLE POP OUT OF PLACE WHILE SHIFTING INTO REVERSE. UNABLE TO SHIFT BACK INTO DRIVE BECAUSE CABLE POP. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
GOT INTO THE CAR TO LEAVE THE STORE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH. EXAMINED THE DOOR AND THE LATCH WAS BROKEN. RAN THE SEATBELT THROUGH THE HANDLE TO KEEP DOOR SHUT. TOOK TO DEALER AND HAD THEM REPLACE A BROKEN DOOR LATCH. CHECKED TO SEE IF CAR WAS COVERED UNDER RECALL FOR EXACT PROBLEM, BUT IT WAS NOT FOR SOME REASON.
UPON EXITING THE STATIONARY VEHICLE VIA THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR THE DOOR LATCH FAILED AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH CLOSED AT ALL. HAD TO BE TIED TO DRIVE TO SAFE LOCATION. LATCH HAD BEEN REPLACED UNDER VEHICLE RECALL IN APRIL 2017, BUT APPARENTLY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND THE TEMPERATURE AND SERVICE ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CALLED FORD STORE SAN LEANDRO (1111 MARINA BLVD, SAN LEANDRO, CA 94577) AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER 2017. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE FOR THE CONTACT. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
DRIVING ON CITY STREET AND PASSENGER'S DOOR FLUNG OPEN WHEN I MADE A RIGHT TURN. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO SHUT & LOCK DOOR, HOWEVER IT WOULD NOT LATCH. AFTER RESEARCHING FOUND A RECALL ON LATCH DOORS OF THIS MODEL FORD (RECALL REFERENCE #15S16), HOWEVER MY VIN # WAS NOT ON RECALL. CONTACTED FORD DEALERSHIP AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EVEN THOUGH THIS EXACT PROBLEM WAS WHY THE RECALL WAS ISSUED, THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE RECALL. WITH RESEARCH I FOUND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS MADE IN THE HERMOSILLO ASSEMBLY PLANT WHICH IS ONE OF THE PLANTS THE FAULTY PARTS CAME FROM. I WAS CHARGED $539.99 TO REPAIR DOOR. MY CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND I BELIEVE THAT THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TO ME. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT THE LATCH MALFUNCTIONED LIKE THIS NO MATTER HOW OLD IT WAS. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS VEHICLE ADDED TO RECALL SO THAT I CAN RECOUP MY MONEY AND HAVE ALL THE OTHER DOOR LATCHES REPLACED FOR SAFETY.
POWER STEERING ALL OF A SUDDEN WENT OUT ON ME WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR INTERSTATE
MY VEHICLE HAD A RECALL JUST OVER A YEAR AGO TO GET ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES REPLACED DUE TO THE SAFETY RISK OF IT BREAKING AND NOT SECURING THE DOOR DURING MOVEMENT. WE HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED IN JUNE 2016 AND IN SEPTEMBER 2017 THE LATCH FAILED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. THIS FAILURE WAS THE EXACT SAME TYPE THAT WAS STATED IN THE INITIAL RECALL. UPON TALKING TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY SAID IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER A TWO YEAR WARRANTY. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE RECALL WAS ALREADY SERVICED THEY WOULD NOT OPEN ANOTHER CLAIM. WHILE TALKING TO ON OF THE SERVICE PROVIDERS HE STATED THAT THE LATCHES WERE NOT A NEW MODEL AND JUST WERE REPLACED WITH THE SAME MODEL THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY ON IT AND WAS JUST A NEW PART. IF A PART IS RECALLED I'D EXPECT A NEW VERSION THAT EXCEEDS THE SAFETY STANDARDS TO BE INSTALLED. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH NO HELP AND HAVE SINCE FILED A CLAIM WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
STEERING AT TIMES GETS HARD. THEN TRYING TO CORRECT, ESPECIALLY IN A TURN CAR JERKS. JUST TOOK A LONG TRIP, AND IT WAS SCARY AT TIMES. CONTACTED THIS SITE 6 MONTHS AGO WITHOUT ANY RESPONSE. FORD SAID THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. THEY CHECKED AND SAID THERE WAS A CODE FOR LOSS OF SIGNAL TO PCM. THEY HAD NO ANSWER. I KNOW THAT FORD HAS A MAJOR ELECTRONIC RACK PROBLEM. THIS IS A LAW SUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. SOMETIMES WHEN JUST A SMALL UNEVENNESS IN THE ROAD APPEARS, IT IS HARD TO GET CAR OUT, AND CAR ROLLS FROM SIDE TO SIDE BECAUSE OF PRESSURE NEEDED, BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT AVAILABLE. CAR AT TIMES IS ALSO EASIER TO STEER TO THE LEFT, THEN TO THE RIGHT. THIS STEERING IS A MAJOR ISSUE. I JUST TALKED TO A GUY WITH A 2013 C MAX, AND FORD MADE HIM PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT, AS 37,631. MY CAR HAS STALLED ON ME MANY TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT ROAD, DOWN A HILL AND COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ON.
2013 FORD FUSION LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH NHTSA CAMPAIGN #15V246000. MY FRONT RIGHT DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE ON 09/27/2017 AND MY RIGHT REAR DOOR FAILED ON 12/21/2017. BOTH TIMES THE CAR WAS STOPPED, IN A PARKING LOT AND FAILED, ONE WHEN EXITING THE CAR AND THE OTHER WHEN ENTERING. I HAD TO USE A BUNGEE CORD THROUGH THE REAR WIDOW WHEN THE FRONT DOOR FAILED AND USE THE CHILD RESTRAINT HOOKS WHEN THE REAR DOOR FAILED. EACH TIME I WAS APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP IN MY HOME AREA. EACH TIME IT TOOK 3 TO 4 DAYS TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER (ERNEST MCCARTY) CHARGED FOR BOTH REPAIRS AS MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL NOTICE REFERENCED ABOVE. ADDITIONALLY, FORD WAS OF NO HELP, DID NOT RESPOND TO MY INQUIRIES AND THEIR DECISIONS AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY ALSO APPEARED UNCONCERNED FOR MY PROBLEMS.
THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND WAS NO MORE THAN 10 MINUTES FROM OUR HOUSE WHEN IT STARTED SMOKING WHILE BEING DRIVEN TO WORK. WITHIN A MINUTE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WITHIN ANOTHER MINUTE THE CAR LOST POWER. THE GAS PEDAL WOULDN'T WORK, ETC ETC. WE WERE ABLE TO COAST INTO A SIDE STREET AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. WITHIN A MINUTE OF THAT HAPPENING IT BURST INTO FLAMES AND WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED AND DESTROYED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,229.

BAYSTATE FORD IN SOUTH EASTON, MASSACHUSETTS (703 WASHINGTON ST) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE THROTTLE BODY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,160.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT FORD OF BRANFORD (301 E MAIN ST, BRANFORD, CT) FOR A TIRE ROTATION, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LUG NUTS SWELLED UP AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO DOWLING FORD (1011 S MAIN ST, CHESHIRE, CT) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE LUG NUTS HAD SWELLED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.

PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED PER THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,321.

2013 FORD FUSION. STARTED HARD SHIFTING APPROX. 3 WEEKS AGO. YOU CAN BE DRIVING AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED (55 TO 75) MPH AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL HARD SHIFT AND LOOSE ACCELERATION. PRESSING ON THE GAS DOES NOT ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WILL GRADUALLY SLOW DOWN. THE RPM'S WILL REV UP. EVEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN MANUAL SHIFT MODE DID NOT SHIFT. SEVERAL TIMES HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ON THE HIGHWAY AND LET IT SET FOR A FEW MINUTES. OF COURSE THE VEHICLE DID THE SAME THING ABOUT 5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THEY ARE HAVING THESE KIND OF ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SHIFTING MODULE. STATED ITS UNDER WARRANTY FOR 60 THOUSAND MILES. MY VEHICLE IS JUST A LITTLE OVER 58 THOUSAND MILES. CANT BELIEVE FORD IS HAVING THIS ISSUE. VERY DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY. VEHICLE GOES TO DEALERSHIP 10-2-2017

THE DEALER STATED THAT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER THE INITIAL RECALL, IT WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. CAR WILL STALL WHEN IT IS IT IS LOW RPM. IT IS MORE LIKELY TO STALL AFTER I HAVE FUELED UP MY CAR FROM IT BEING LOW ON CALLS. I CAN SEE THE CAR SHUDDERING AND THEN DROP THE RPM VERY LOW. IT HAS DIED WHEN I HAVE BEEN IN TRAFFIC BEFORE WHEN I'M STOPPED AT A LIGHT. IT HAS DIED WHEN I WAS LEAVING FOR WORK AND BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I NOTICED THE ISSUE OF THE CAR SHUDDERING WHEN I'M DRIVING AT LOW RPM AND EVEN WHEN I'M COASTING DOWN A HILL. I HAVE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND THEY HAVE NEVER ELIMINATED THE PROBLEM. IT MAY HAVE GOT A LITTLE BETTER WHERE IT DOESN'T DIE AS MUCH BUT I DEFINITELY HAVE TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION WHEN I JUST GET FUEL OTHERWISE I'M AFRAID MY CALL WILL STALL AT A STOPLIGHT. I CALLED FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING RELATED TO MY ISSUE AS A RECALL BUT THERE WAS NOT. I ASKED THE LADY IF SHE HAS HEARD OF THIS ISSUE AND SHE SAID THAT IT'S A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM SHE HEARS ABOUT THE FUSION AND OTHER FORD MODELS "SHUDDERING". MOST RECENTLY I HAVE HAD MY BATTERY REPLACED. PREVIOUSLY I HAD WARRANTY WORK DONE IN 2016 FOR THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR TO BE REPLACED THAT COST $100 DEDUCDIBLE. NEITHER OF THESE REPAIRS MADE ANY SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE. I ALSO EXPERIENCE THAT AT LOW RPM THERE IS HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING. THERE WAS OTHER PEOPLE I FOUND ONLINE THAT HAVE THESE ISSUES AND THEY SUGGESTED THE "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY" FIXED THEIR ISSUE AND THEY WERE COVERED BY A EXTENDED WARRANTY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM, BUT APPARENTLY MY VIN IS NOT IN THAT LIST.

I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT EAST A RECALL AND I PAID CLOSE TO 400 FOR THEM TO FIX AND THEN A RECALL LETTER CAME OUT ADVISING TO WATCH COOLANT LEVELS FOR OVERHEATING ETC. WHILE DRIVING THE OTHER DAY 09/01/2017 MY CAR DID THE SAME THING AND WAS SHOWING IT WAS OVERHEATING WITHOUT WARNING AND NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME AGAIN THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ISSUE OUT OF POCKET WHICH IS UNFAIR SINCE THE RECALL IS NOT SOMETHING I HAVE CONTROL OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS FINALLY TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. TAKATA RECALL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT 10 MONTHS AGO AND VEHICLE OVERHEATS FROM TIME TO TIME. RETRIEVED CODE FROM OBDII P26B7 AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY NEAREST DEALER WHERE THEY SAID THEY WERE AWARE THERE WAS A RECALL IN REGARDS TO THAT ISSUE BUT THEY COULDT FIX IT.
15S16 RECALL. MY VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO FORD RECALL 15S16. PARTS WERE REPLACED UNDER RECALL ABOUT 18 MONTHS AFTER THE REPAIR WAS DONE MY DOOR LATCH FAILED AGAIN.
MY VIN WAS APART OF THE FORD RECALL FOR THE COOLANT SYSTEM TO FAIL AND CAUSE THE CAR TO OVERHEAT, AND IN SOME CASES CAUSE ENGINE FIRES. MY CAR DID OVERHEAR, I TOOK IT TO PERRY FORD IN NATIONAL CITY, AND THEY PUT IN THE RECALL PART. 2 WEEKS LATER THE CAR OVERHEATED AGAIN DUE TO SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE INITIAL OVERHEATING. THIS TIME THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT NOT FIX ANYTHING AND SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $1100 TO REPLACE THE ISSUES. I SPOKE WITH THE FORD COMPANY AND THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING TO BE FIXED EITHER.
ON FEB. 10, 2016, DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCHES ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION HYBRID WERE REPLACED AT WALKER FORD/CLEARWATER, FL DUE TO A RECALL NOTICE. ON AUG. 24, 2017, THE DOOR LATCH ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED. THE SAME DEALER REPLACED THE FAILED LATCH ON AUG. 26, 2017. I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THE REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT UNDER RECALL AND IS OUTSIDE THE 12 MONTH WARRANTY THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR COSTS. WHEN I STATED THAT I WOULD REPORT THE FAILED LATCH TO THE NHTSA GIVEN THE VARIOUS RECALLS DUE TO FORD DOOR LATCH DEFECTS, THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD CHECK WITH HIS MANAGER ABOUT WAIVING THE COST OF REPAIRS AND HAS NOT YET CHARGED ME. ONLY THE ONE DOOR LATCH WAS REPLACED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS USED TO REMEDY THE PRIOR RECALL ARE ALSO DEFECTIVE. THE DOOR LATCH FAILED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AWAY FROM HOME, WHILE I WAS RUNNING ERRANDS.

PREMATURE AND SUDDEN REAR BREAK FAILURE OF BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE: SINCE PURCHASE CAR SHOWED MODERATE VIBRATION UPON HEAVY BREAKING BUT APPEARED TO FUNCTION NORMALLY PRIOR TO TOTAL REAR BRAKE FAILURE. A SUDDEN SCREECHING NOISE SHOWED UP COMPING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE ALONG WITH A NOTICEABLE LOSS OF BREAKING POWER. UPON IMMEDIATE VISUAL INSPECTION THE REAR BREAK PADS WERE COMPLETELY WORN WITH ONLY 18,983 MILES SINCE PURCHASED IN 2014. THE WORN PADS SHOWED TO CAUSE IMMEDIATE AND SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE BREAK DISCS. PREMATURE WEAR AND DAMAGE TO THE DISCS WERE NOT COVERED BY THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY AS THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED IT FOR 4 MONTHS OR ANY CURRENT RECALL.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where a software update and other minor repairs were performed on the vehicle under warranty. The contact then stated that an abnormal banging noise would emit from the vehicle while accelerating without warning. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where various repairs to the transmission were performed; despite multiple repairs, the failure persisted and vehicle was taken back to the dealer on multiple occasions. The dealer then replaced the cable bushing and attached shifter cable which temporarily repaired the vehicle; however, the contact stated that recently, the failure returned. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they informed her that the warranty had expired and that she had to repair the vehicle out of pocket. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V362000 (Power Train) which she linked to the failure. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 21,454.

THE DEALERSHIP HAD NOT SEEN THE LIGHT AND REFUSED TO CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM BEFORE MY WIFE LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. I BELIEVE THAT DURANGO MOTOR COMPANY, DURANGO COLORADO SHOULD HAVE TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY OF CHECKING THE SYSTEM.
