TOLD I WILL NEED NEW TIRES ON MY NEW CAR! *TR
I AM LEASING MY CAR BRAND NEW. I WENT TO GET IN IT TO GO TO WORK AND I HAD A FEW OF THE SENSOR/WARNING LIGHTS COME UP (ALS, AIRBAG, OIL, AND MORE). IT EVENTUALLY WENT OFF THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WENT TO START IT AND IT HESITATED AND THEN WENT CRAZY WITH ALMOST EVERY SENSOR/WARNING LIGHT, DING, NOISE, FLASHING LIGHTS EVERYTHING GOING OFF. I CALLED AND TOLD THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT AND THAT I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. I DROPPED THE CAR OFF ON FRIDAY AND THEY SAID IT'D PROBABLY TAKE THE WEEKEND. THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY FIXED IT BUT WHEN THEY WENT TO DRIVE IT, IT DID THE SAME THING. THEY HAVE DETERMINED THAT THE RCM NEED REPLACED. NOW, NEARLY 6 WEEKS LATER, I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CAR, THE PART IS APPARENTLY ON BACK ORDER, THEY CAN'T FIND ONE, ETC. I HAVE HEARD MANY EXCUSES AND AT LEAST THEY PUT ME IN A RENTAL. BUT AT THIS POINT, I AM PAYING FOR A BRAND NEW CAR I CAN'T DRIVE AND FORD DOESN'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS EXTREMELY IRRITATING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR SHUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH AND MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. DOES NOT STAY CLOSED. *TR
I WAS EXITING FROM THE HIGHWAY, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON (ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AIRBAGS, HILL ASSIST, ETC.). ALL SYSTEMS BECAME UNOPERATIONAL WHILE I WAS DRIVING, WHICH CAUSED ME GREAT CONCERN. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING (THE ISSUE WAS STILL HAPPENING), AND THEY KEPT IT FOR TWO WEEKS BECAUSE THE AFFECTED PART, A RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE (RCM), WAS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. THEY SAID THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, AND, IF I HAD GOTTEN IN AN ACCIDENT, THE AIRBAGS WOULDN'T HAVE DEPLOYED. I HAVE READ ABOUT A NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH 2013 FUSIONS WITH THE SAME EXACT DEFECTIVE PART, SO THIS ISSUE SHOULD PROBABLY BE INVESTIGATED. *TR
REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. SERVICE ADVISOR SAID IT WAS THE 4TH FUSION WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS WAITING ON PARTS. DOOR LATCH ON REAR PASS. DOOR WAS REPLACED. *JS
WHILE DRIVING, MY "CHECK ENGINE" WARNING LIGHT, "LOW OIL PRESSURE" WARNING LIGHT, AND THE "STOP SAFELY NOW" WARNING CAME UP ON MY DASH. I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND BREAKS, AND THE ENGINE CUT OUT. I STRUGGLED TO STOP THE CAR, BUT EVENTUALLY IT STOPPED MOVING. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON, RECEIVING NO FURTHER ERRORS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT THAT THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE THE CAR IS NO LONGER IN AN "ERROR STATE". *TR
2013 FORD FUSION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE PARKING BRAKE MALFUNCTION. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, OPENED THE DOOR, AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, WHEN SHE TURNED AROUND, SHE NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING. SHE ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE VEHICLE, BUT IT WAS MOVING TOO FAST. THE DOOR FLIPPED HER HALF WAY AROUND AND SHE LANDED ON HER RIGHT HIP ON THE ROAD AND THE TIRE WENT OVER HER LEFT FOOT. THE VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER READ WHERE THE PARKING BRAKE SHOULD BE SET, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVER HEAT AND THE ENGINE OVER HEATING WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS AND POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SYSTEM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V551000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED, OVERHEATED, AND THE TRANSMISSION AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE ON SOME OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP AND THE POWER TRAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I PURCHASED MY FUSION IN 2014 WITH LESS THAN 2500 MILES. I HAD TAKEN IT HOME FOR A TEST DRIVE OVER THE WEEKEND. I HAD IT FOR LESS THAT 12 HOURS AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. RETURNED IT MONDAY , THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT LESS THAN 2500 MILES. ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SAME PROBLEM ; REPLACED AGAIN. TWO YEARS AFTER THAT WITH ONLY 38,000 MILES SAME PROBLEM CATALYTIC CONVERTED NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES AND 3 TIMES CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED REPLACED.
THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF INDICATING THERE IS A MALFUNCTION (PER THE MANUAL). THEREFORE I NEED TO TAKE IT BACK TO DEALER TO GET IT CHECKED. ONE OF THE 3 MEMORY BUTTONS FOR THE ELECTRONIC SEAT ADJUSTMENTS IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THE SHIELD DEFLECTOR WAS LOSE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE CHIMP MONKS WERE EATING THE SHIELD DEFLECTOR AND AS A RESULT, IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,647.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD LOW PRESSURE. THE VEHICLE CONSTANTLY HESITATED THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED RANDOMLY SEVERAL TIMES. THIS CAR HAS A 16.5 GALLON GAS TANK BUT IT ONLY FILLS U TO 13.00 GALLONS. THERE IS A TSB FOR THIS CAR BUT FORD REFUSES TO ADMIT THE PROBLEM IS THE GAS TANK AND HELP ME. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTING SHUT OFF. AFTER DRIVING A LITTLE FURTHER, ALL THE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AGAIN; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.

2013 FORD FUSION SE 2.0LT ECOBOOST ENGINE - BOUGHT MARCH 2014 ABOUT 33,000 MILES. MY ISSUES STARTED AROUND THE END OF MAY 2014. 1. WHEN COMING TO AN IDLE MY CAR ALWAYS ACTS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL. IT IDLES REALLY HARD AND THE RPMS ALWAYS JUMP REAL LOW. THERE ARE NEVER ANY WARNING LIGHTS/MESSAGES THAT APPEAR. 2. EXTREMELY POOR GAS MILEAGE - THIS IS A 4 CYLINDER AND AN ECOBOOST THAT SHOULD BE GETTING A HELL OF A LOT BETTER GAS MILEAGE - CITY AND HIGHWAY! MY 2012 FUSION V6 HAD WAYYYY BETTER MPG. I HAVE READ IN FORUMS ABOUT BOTH OF THESE 2 ISSUES AND FOUND RELATED PROBLEMS. FORD WANTED $180.00 JUST TO 'LOOK' AT MY DRIVEABILITY. JUST TO PLUG MY CAR COMPUTER INTO THEIR SCANNER. THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS FOR MY SPECIFIC CAR EVEN THOUGH I AM FINDING A LOT OF THE SAME ISSUES AS SOME RECALLS ON OTHER MODEL FUSIONS. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS TO BE FIXED, THIS IS FAULT OF FORD. 3. MY A/C SYSTEM STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR AT 36,816 MILES!!! STILL NO WARNINGS ACTIVE AND FORD WANTS $120.00 JUST TO 'LOOK' AT IT - AND CHARGE ME MORE TO FIX ANY ISSUES IT HAS. WHILE READING SOME FORUMS I HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL RECALLS/SAME ISSUES FOR THIS AND SOME SAY THAT THE A/C PIPE IS FAULTY AND LEAKS. BUT MY SPECIFIC CAR DOES NOT HAVE THOSE RECALLS SO FORD WILL NOT FIX ISSUE. AND AGAIN, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR FAULTY PARTS! DISGUSTED!!!!! PLEASE CORRECT THE RECALLS SO I CAN DRIVE SAFELY. *TR
I WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, IN WHICH I WAS FIRST HIT BY ANOTHER CAR AND THEN COLLIDED WITH A LAMP POST. THE INITIAL BLOW RENDERED MY VEHICLE WITHOUT BRAKE POWER AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS WEARING A SEATBELT. MY CAR HEADED TOWARD THE STREET LAMP. I TRIED TO PRESS MY BRAKE, BUT IT WOULD NOT WORK. I TURNED MY STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT TO AVOID A HEAD-ON WITH THE LIGHT POST. UNFORTUNATELY, I HIT THE POST AND IT BROKE (LATER A POLICEMAN PUSHED IT OVER AND IT FELL TO THE GROUND). THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED AT ABOUT 200 FEET AWAY FROM THE SITE OF THE ACCIDENT, AS I DROVE IT ONTO THE MEDIAN STRIP. MY CAR WAS DAMAGED ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT LOWER AREA AND THE RIGHT TIRE WAS PUSHED WAY BACK. THE SWAY BAR AND KNUCKLE BROKE, AMONG OTHER THINGS. THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR WAS UNABLE TO OPEN. AFTER ALL THESE REPAIRS WERE DONE, THEY COULDN'T START THE CAR BECAUSE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN TOTAL, THESE REPAIRS TOOK MORE THAN TWO MONTHS TO COMPLETE. I SPOKE TO THE REGIONAL MANAGER OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO SEE IF THEY WANTED TO INVESTIGATE THIS PARTICULAR CAR, AS IT OPERATED POORLY DURING THE ACCIDENT. THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED, AND SAID TO ALLOW GEICO TO HANDLE THINGS AND HAVE GEICO CALL THEM IF THEY FOUND ANYTHING AMISS. MY BACK WAS INJURED AND I CANNOT SAFELY LIFT MORE THAN 5 LBS AT A TIME. MY NEUROSURGEON ADVISED THAT I HAVE SURGERY SOON, OTHERWISE I RISK BECOMING PARALYZED FROM THE WAIST DOWN. I HAVE A THUMB INJURY AND THE ACCIDENT ALSO RE-ACTIVATED AN OLD CONCUSSION. MY NOSE MUST HAVE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL, AS IT WAS SORE FOR A WEEK. I CAN WALK AROUND AND FUNCTION RIGHT NOW, I JUST CAN'T LIFT ANYTHING. MY CAR IS READY IN THE SHOP, BUT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT, AND I HAVE FIVE YEARS OF PAYMENTS LEFT ON IT. I NEVER WOULD HAVE HIT THE LAMP POST IF MY BRAKES HAD WORKED, AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY FOR EITHER IMPACT. *TR

NEXT DAY I WENT TO THE DEALER MAGUIRE'S FORD OF HERSHEY, 100 N.THISTLEDOWN DR, PALMYRA, PA 17078. THE DEALER REPORTED THAT RCM MODULE MUST BE REPLACED, HOWEVER PART IS ON NATIONAL BACK-ORDER AND NOT AVAILABLE ( 300 CASES). I HAD TO SIGN THAT I WAS INFORMED THAT IN A CASE OF AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK . THE DEALER INFORMED MY HOME DEALER KERRY FORD IN CINCINNATI OH AND SENT A FAX WITH INFORMATION TO ORDER A PART. I CALLED MY DEALER WHEN I RETURNED BACK TO OHIO FROM MY VACATION AND AS OF TODAY 05/27/2014 PART IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE, NO DATE OF PART DELIVERY IS KNOWN. *TR

THE DEALER DID NOT PROVIDE A SPECIFIC DATE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY BOLT NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THIS IS A COMPLAINT ABOUT YOUR COMMERCIAL. WE TRY TO TEACH OR CHILDREN TO BE TOLERANT OF OTHERS AND YOUR COMMERCIAL SHOWING ADULTS TALKING AT THE PLAY GROUND SHOWS JUST THE OPPOSITE. THE WOMAN SITTING WITH HER SON IS DEFINITELY BEING MADE TO FEEL LIKE AN OUTSIDER. I FILLED IN THE ABOVE BLANK WITH VEHICLE INFO ONLY SO IT WOULD BE SENT. *TR
2013 FORD FUSION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE MPG ISSUES. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HARDLY EXCEEDS 19 MPG IN THE CITY AND NEVER EXCEEDED 31 MPG ON THE FREEWAY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MPG ADVERTISED WAS MERELY AN ESTIMATE. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE ESTIMATE WAS TOO FAR OFF. UPDATED 09/11/2017*JS
PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW IN FEB 2013. HAS SHUT DOWN 4 TIMES WHILE IN MOTION. 3 WERE IN TOWN AT SLOW SPEEDS FIRST TIME WAS AROUND SUMMERTIME THE FIRST OR SECOND YEAR, BUT THE LAST WAS 12/24/2015 ON THE INTERSTATE RUNNING A STEADY 75 MPH IN THE INSIDE LANE IN VERY HEAVY TRAFFIC. ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD WAS I ABLE TO MANEUVER IT TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT GETTING RUN OVER! EACH TIME THE DASH GOES BLACK AND ENGINE (AND POWER STEERING/BRAKES) SHUTS OF. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE OR AFTER THE SHUT DOWN. ONLY THING STILL WORKING WAS THE RADIO. (IT NORMALLY PLAYS UNTIL YOU OPEN THE DOOR ANYWAY) EACH TIME IT STARTED RIGHT UP AFTER STOPPING. HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIR 3 TIMES. NO FAULT CODES PRESENT AND SERVICE TECH "COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM", SO NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE, OTHER THAN THE NUMEROUS RECALLS THAT HAVE BEEN ISSUED. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR!!! I HAVE CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CENTER AND REGISTERED A COMPLAINT WITH THEM.THEIR RESPONSE WAS TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER FOR A SECOND OPINION. THAT IS VERY INCONVENIENT DUE TO THE NEXT DEALER BEING 2 HOURS AWAY AND THEY WOULD NEED TO KEEP THE CAR FOR A DAY OR TWO TO TRY TO "REPLICATE THE PROBLEM". IT IS VERY SPORADIC. IT COULD BE SIX MONTHS BEFORE IT DOES IT AGAIN. A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!
ON 4/18/14 DRIVING DOWN CA 140 A TWO LANE MOUNTAIN ROAD DOWNHILL LOTS OF CURVES POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, WITH A PRESS OKAY. DIDN'T PRESS OK KEPT DRIVING UNTIL I GOT TO MERCED, CA. ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES. WHEN SAFELY IN A CVS PARKING LOT PRESSED OK . COMPLETELY LOSS STEERING. HAD TO BE TOWED TO RAZZARI FORD 1300 AUTO CENTER DR. MERCED, CA 95340. THEY FOUND A FAULTY STEERING GEAR, AND REPLACED GEAR ASSEMBLY. WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT COULD OF HAPPENED IF I HAD PRESSED OK THIRTY MINUTES EARLIER. *TR
WAS PULLING ONTO A MAIN ROAD TURNING LEFT OUT OF A PARKING LOT. SPEED WAS ROUGHLY 5 MPH. RECEIVED AN ERROR LIGHT, SYSTEM SAID LOSS OF ADVANCETRAC, THEN SUBSEQUENTLY MULTIPLE ERROR LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE DASH (WRENCH, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS). MADE IT INTO THE MEDIAN. VEHICLE WAS STILL "RUNNING", SO I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE INTO THE MAIN ROAD. THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS PRESSED, SO I LET UP TO COAST. IT DIDN'T SEEM TO MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. FROM THERE, THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AGAIN ON IT'S OWN. AGAIN, IT ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN UP TO 40MPH BEFORE I HAD TO SUPPRESS THE ACCELERATION WITH THE BRAKE. AT NO POINT DID THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL RESPOND TO ANY PRESSING. I NAVIGATED INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE I SUBSEQUENTLY TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURNED IT BACK ON. THE WARNING LIGHTS HAD NOT CHANGED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVABLE. AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AFTER RESTARTING CAR, IT SOMETIMES STAYED ON, AND SOMETIMES WOULD CLEAR. HAPPENED ~ ONCE A MONTH, THEN STARTED TO HAPPEN WITH ALARMING FREQUENCY IN JULY 2014. AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD COME ON ALMOST EVERY TIME CAR WAS USED. IN SEPT 2014, CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE WAS PERFORMED. LIGHT DID NOT COME BACK ON FOR TWO WEEKS. WHILE DRIVING NORTH ON I-25 WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 75MPH, SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STOP FORWARD ACCELERATION AND INSTANTLY BEGAN DECREASING SPEED. IMMEDIATELY, I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO NO AVAILABLE POWER. THE ENGINE REFUSED TO COMMUNICATION WITH THE ACCELERATOR AS THE RPM WOULD JUST INCREASE BUT NO ACTUAL POWER WAS GIVEN TO THE VEHICLE. I NO LONGER TRUST THE PRODUCT TO HAVE MY SON DRIVE IT.
I RENTED A 2013 FUSION TO TAKE MY SON BACK TO COLLEGE. ON THE WAY HOME I HEARD A NOISE UNDER THE CAR , I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT PLACED THE CAR IN PARK BUT LEFT IT RUNNING . AS I WAS BENT DOWN LOOKING BENEATH THE CAR IT WENT INTO REVERSE AND STARTED ACCELERATING BACKWARD. MY DAUGHTER WHO WAS WITH ME HAD THE PASSENGER DOOR OPEN TALKING TO ME AND WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO BACK UP THE DOOR KNOCKED ME OVER AND DRAGGED ME BENEATH IT FOR APPROXIMATELY 4-6 FEET BEFORE SHE COULD GET THE CAR TO STOP. I HAD SEVERAL BRUISES ON MY RIGHT SIDE ALONG WITH BRUISED RIBS WHERE THE DOOR GOT STUCK ON THEM WHEN IT DRAGGED ME. I ALSO INJURED MY LEFT ELBOW WHEN I FELL TO THE GROUND WHICH HURT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND I COULD NOT PUT ANY KIND OF PRESSURE ON IT FOR THAT TIME. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE RENTAL COMPANY AND FORD. THE DIAGNOSTICS REPORT FROM THE RENTAL COMPANY CAME BACK INDICATING THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THE CAR. FORD RESPONDED WITH AN E-MAIL TO CONTINUE TALKING TO THE RENTAL COMPANY AS ONLY THEY COULD HELP ME. *TR
