HELLO EVERYONE. I HAVE A 2014 FORD FUSION HYBRID TITANIUM EDITION. I'VE GONE TO THE SAME DEALER THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM FOR ALL OIL CHANGES AND SERVICE AND TIRES. I HAVE 152,000 MILES ON THAT CAR WHICH IS 2 1/2 YEARS OLD. YES IT'S A LOT BUT IT'S MY COMMUTE CAR. I DRIVE 160 MILES A DAY FOR WORK. LAST WEEKEND MY HUBBY POINTED OUT A NOISE. I THOUGHT ALIGNMENT. BUT THE NOISE SOUNDED LIKE REAR WHEEL BEARINGS THAT FAILED. EVEN THE DEALERSHIP AGREED. THEY CHANGE THEM. BUT IT DIDN'T HELP WITH THE NOISE. AND NOW THEY'RE TELLING ME I NEED A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION ON MY HYBRID. I KNOW WHAT A BAD TRANNY SOUNDS LIKE AND HOW IT MOVES. THERE ARE A HANDFUL OF ARTICLES ON THE INTERNET ABOUT 2014 FORD FUSION HYBRID TRANNY GOING OUT. HONESTLY IT'S VERY RARE. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO SAID HE HAS NEVER SEEN A HYBRID COME IN FOR A NEW TRANNY. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMERSERVICE AND BASICALLY THEY SAID SORRY WE CAN'T HELP YOU. I FEEL FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 1. THE COST OF THE REPAIR OR 2. THE BUYBACK PROGRAM FOR MY CAR. I'VE LOOKED ON THE BBB REGARDING THE AUTO LINE FOR FORD AND IF THIS DOESN'T GET RESOLVED BETWEEN FORD AND I I'M GOING TO GO THAT ROUTE.

THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
STEERING GEAR UNIT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. LUCKILY HAPPENED WHEN STARTING THE CAR. ALMOST LOST ALL CONTROL - STEERING BECOMES EXCEEDINGLY HEAVY. IF HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, AND IF DRIVER DISTRACTED OR DRIVER DOES NOT HAVE STRONG ARMS, CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS ACCIDENT. FORD DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE SERIOUSNESS. $2000 REPAIR FOR CAR WITH 60,000 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO STEARNS FORD (602 ALAMANCE ROAD, BURLINGTON, NC 27215) AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLANT MIXED WITH THE OIL AND THE ENGINE BLOCK FRACTURED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.

THIS IS STILL NOT CORRECTED BY AUTO FAIR FORD AND FOR SURE THIS IS NOT IN A TIMELY FASHION, RIGHT? SO I WANT TO FILE A CLAIM. JUST BECAUSE I HAVE NOT BEEN INJURED OR WORSE, DOESN'T MEAN THAT SOMETHING WON'T GO WRONG IN THE FUTURE, AM I RIGHT? WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR IT STALLS WITHOUT WARNING.? I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND IT DESCRIBES A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. I TAKE THE CAR UP TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG. WELL!! THERE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE IT STALLS ALL THE TIME!!!!! A MAN AT ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP SAID THROTTLE BODY AS SOON AS THE PROBLEM WAS MENTIONED BUT HE HOPED I DIDN'T HEAR THAT. IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!

THE CONTACT GOOGLED THE FAILURE AND FOUND NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE17007 (STEERING), WHICH WAS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,231.
THE FORD FUSION ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS HAS SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING, LOST FULL THROTTLE POWER WHILE DRIVING (RADIO REMAINS ON), I.E., GAS STOPS FLOWING INTO ENGINE DESPITE ATTEMPTING ACCELERATION, AND THE CAR WILL ON ITS OWN COME TO A STOP. SO FAR, HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PULL OVER WITHOUT INCIDENT, BUT OBVIOUSLY IT'S VERY SCARY! THIS GENERALLY OCCURS SHORTLY AFTER THE CAR HAS HAD IGNITION TURNED ON WHILE DRIVING ON ROAD GENERALLY AT LOW SPEED - DON'T WANT TO EVER EXPERIENCE THIS HAPPENING ON A HIGHWAY! THEN I TURN ENGINE OFF A FEW SECONDS AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART - IT OFTEN TAKES SCARILY LONGER AFTER THIS POWER LOSS TO RESTART, BUT IT DOES RESTART. COULD LEAD TO LIFE-THREATENING SITUATIONS OBVIOUSLY!
A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS HAS BEEN IN EFFECT SINCE NOV 2016. THE STATUS ON THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE.
STEERING PULLS OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT IS FAULTY
I WAS DRIVING 25MPH ON A NEIGHBORHOOD ROAD WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO GO OVER A SPEED BUMP. AFTER GOING OVER THE BUMP, I WENT TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR FELT AS IF IT HAD CHOKED AND LOST ALL POWER. WITHIN 30 SECONDS A WARNING ON MY DASH ASKED ME TO PULL OVER SAFELY NOW. AFTER FINDING A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER, I REMAINED IN MY CAR. THE BATTERY LIFE CONTINUED TO RUN DOWN UNTIL IT WAS DEAD AND THE MOTOR NEVER KICKED ON TO RECHARGE IT. IT TURNED ITSELF OFF AND 30 MINUTES LATER I TRIED TO RESTART MY VEHICLE. IT TURNED ON, ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON ITS MOTOR SINCE IT COULD NOT IDLE ON ITS DEAD BATTERY, AND THE CARS WARNING SIGNS CAME ON THEN DIED AGAIN. THERE IS NO EXPLANATION FOR THIS MALFUNCTION AND THE RECALLS MADE ARE NOT RELEVANT TO THE ISSUE OCCURRING. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR 8 WEEKS AGO AND IT HAS LESS THAN 30,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM.
STEERING WHEEL BECAME LOOSE AS I WAS DRIVING.
1) STEERING WHEEL IS LOOSE AND GETTING LOOSER. THIS HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY AT 65MPH. ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. 2) CAR STILL THINKS IT IS PLUGGED IN WHEN UNPLUGGED. WILL NOT ALLOW VEHICLE TO START WITHOUT A NEW VISUAL PROMPT CONFIRMING THAT THE CAR IS INDEED UNPLUGGED.
MY STEERING WHEEL IS LOOSE. DEALER COULD NOT CONFIRM THIS ON TWO OCCASIONS. READ ARTICLE TODAY ABOUT THIS ISSUE. WHAT DO YOU KNOW AND WHAT SHOULD I DO? FORD DOES NOT HAVE THIS IN THEIR SYSTEM.
AFTER A MEDIA REPORT ABOUT LOOSE STEERING WHEELS, I CHECKED MY STEERING WHEEL AND IT WAS LOOSE. I BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE AND THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED A LOOSE STEERING WHEEL, TIGHTENED IT AND APPLIED THREADLOCKER TO THE BOLT. THEY CHARGED ME $62.01 TO FIX. *BF *TR
BRAKES FAILED WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE. I REVERSE AND THE BRAKES WENT COMPLETELY SOFT. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO COMPLETELY STOP THE VEHICLE, AT LOWER SPEEDS, BUT I MANAGED TO DO SO WITH NO DAMAGE DONE TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR. I DROVE MY 2014 FORD FUSION AWD A FEW FEET TO PARK THE CAR MAKING IT EASIER FOR TOWING TO THE RIVER TOWN FORD'S DEALERSHIP. I SAW SMOKE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR COMING FROM THE WHEEL AREA. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE TO ASSURE NO FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE BRAKES AND ROTORS. I PRESS THE BRAKES, WHILE THE CAR WAS OFF, AND NOTICE BRAKE PRESSURE WAS BACK. I CONFIRM IT WAS STILL UNSAFE BY RESTARTING THE CAR AND THEN A LOW BRAKE FLUID INDICATOR CAME ON AND ALL BRAKE FEEL WENT LIMP TO A POINT THAT PUSHING THE PADDLE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BOARD DID NOT ENGAGE THE BRAKES, E-BRAKES I SUPPOSE WAS BEING USED AT THIS POINT. THE NEXT DAY I GET A CALL FROM THE DEALER TELLING ME THAT THE CAR NEEDED A NEW BRAKE HOSE AND COPPER WASHER ON THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR; THE INITIAL COST WAS 203, THEN WITH EACH PHONE CALL, BECAUSE I WANTED PART NUMBERS TO CHECK COST OF PARTS, THE PRICE WENT TO 340 DOLLARS FOR A BRAKE HOSE AND A COPPER WASH REPLACEMENT ON RIGHT CALIPER, BY THE WAY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY DIDN'T COVER THIS COST SO NO ACCOMMODATIONS FOR A RENTAL AND ALL COST FELL ON ME THE CUSTOMER BECAUSE OF VAGUE EXTENDED WARRANTY INFORMATION. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKE HOSE WAS NOT TAMPERED WITH IT JUST DISCONNECTED/POPPED OUT FROM TOO MUCH PRESSURE. THIS HAPPENS AT 37800 PLUS MILES AFTER THE WARRANTY DIES OUT AND CLOSE TO THE MANDATORY 40K DEALERSHIP INSPECTION SERVICE. IN THE END I PAID 289.66 AFTER PULLING TEETH WITH THE CLERKS, WHO ANSWERED THE PHONES, AND ALSO CALLING THE MANUFACTURE FOR INFORMATION ABOUT FORDPART.COM WEBSITE AND COVERAGE. SUGGEST A FURTHER TESTING OF THIS BRAKE FAILURE. FORD SHOULD HAVE COVERED THIS COST NOT ME FOR THEIR FAULTY PARTS.
TAKATA RECALL... MY FORD DEALERSHIP STILL DOESN'T HAVE PARTS TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG
STARTING IN OCTOBER 2017, IMMEDIATELY AFTER I UPDATED THE SYNC SOFTWARE IN MY CAR, THE INTEGRATION BETWEEN MY IPHONE AND MY CAR STOPPED WORKING. PREVIOUSLY I COULD SAY "HEY, SIRI!" AND THE CAR WOULD ACTIVATE MY CAR'S MICROPHONE SO THAT THE PHONE COULD HEAR MY COMMANDS. AFTER THE UPDATE I CANNOT TALK TO MY PHONE BECAUSE THE CAR DOES NOT ACTIVATE ITS MIC AND THE PHONE MIC IS COVERED BY THE CRADLE. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD RECENTLY I WAS TOLD THAT FORD HAS REMOVED THIS FEATURE BECAUSE "THE CAR HAS ITS OWN VOICE RECOGNITION SYSTEM" (SYNC) AND THAT FORD DOES NOT SUPPORT REVERTING TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF THE SYNC FIRMWARE. CLEARLY FORD WANTS TO "OWN" THE CUSTOMER BUY REMOVING INTEGRATION WITH PHONE VOICE FEATURES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I CANNOT NO LONGER ACCESS PHONE FEATURES NOT SUPPORTED BY SYNC HANDS-FREE. CARS WITH ADVANCED ELECTRONICS ARE ALREADY KNOWN TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD AND THIS MAKES IT WORSE. THIS CHANGE WAS DONE WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT, WHICH IS A SEPARATE ISSUE, WHICH I WILL PURSUE WITH THE FTC.
FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT LOCKS UP WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PUT ON. TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FULLY FASTEN. IT CONSISTENTLY TIGHTENS WHILE DRIVING. THIS ISSUE STARTED AFTER FORD ADDRESSED THE PRETENSIONER RECALL. FORD DEALER IN HAGERSTOWN MD REFUSED TO FIX PROBLEM WITHOUT A $570 PAYMENT . SEATBELTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE COVERED FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE!
TAKATA RECALL - AS MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE SPECIFICALLY TURNING OUT OF THE GAS STATION INTO THE TRAFFIC, HE WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, THE POWER STEERING JUST QUIT SUDDENLY LEAVING THE CAR VERY HARD TO STEER. WHEN THE STEERING WENT IT, IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE FOUND ONLINE THAT THIS CAR FITS EVERY SINGLE CRITERIA OF RECALL NUMBER 15S14 WHICH COVERS THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE STEERING MOTOR IN PLACE CAN CORRODE AND FRACTURE CAUSING THE POWER STEERING TO FAIL. AFTER HAVING THE CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN MY HOMETOWN, I FOUND OUT THAT THE CAR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY RECALL AND IT WOULD BE OVER $2,600 TO REPAIR. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME THAT IT IS NOT THEIR RESPOSIBILITY. MY MAJOR COMPLAINT HERE IS THIS IS CLEARLY A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT CAN CAUSE ANYONE WHO IS DRIVING ONE OF THESE CARS TO CRASH IF THE VEHICLES POWER STEERING FAILS WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAR IN QUESTION HAS ONLY 51,XXX MILES ON IT. FORD WILL NOT BUDGE NOR WILL THEY EVEN SPLIT THE BILL.
VEHICLE LUG NUTS SWOLLEN. UNABLE TO REMOVE WITH PROVIDED TIRE WRENCH.
WHEN TURNING ON THE CAR AND ACTUALLY TAKING OFF DRIVING THE CAR WILL STOP/ SHUT OFF ALL BY ITSELF AND I HAVE TO RESTART IT, WHILE DRIVING. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL PULL OR JERK WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD MY CAR LOOKED AT TWICE. CHANGED THE BATTERY AND STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY IT DOES IT.
MY 2014 FORD FUSION STEERING WHEEL BECAME UNSTABLE AND I DRIFTED INTO A MANHOLE IN THE STREET. AND TOTALED MY CAR. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO FORD AS OF OCTOBER 2017
I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICE SOMETHING WRONG IN THE VEHICLE AND THEN IN THE FRONT WINDOW A MESSAGE APPEAR SAYING STEERING FAULT SERVICE NOW ALMOST CRASH IN THE SIDE CONCRETE WALL. THEN WHEN I GOT TO THE HOUSE AND I TURN OFF THE CAR, AND TURN IT BACK ON AGAIN THE STEERING WAS HARD AND I COULDN'T MOVE THE CAR NO MORE AND THEN THREE MESSAGES APPEAR TALKING ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING FAILURE

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (KOONS STERLING FORD, 46869 HARRY BYRD HWY, STERLING, VA 20164, (703) 430-7700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PRETENSIONER CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT FAILED TO RELEASE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (COWLES PARKWAY FORD, 13779 NOBLEWOOD PLZ, WOODBRIDGE, VA 22193, (703) 986-5500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,749.*DT*JB
THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER SEAT MOTOR HAS FAILED RENDERING THE SEAT UNMOVABLE, SEEING AS HOW THE SEAT AUTOMATICALLY MOVES ALL THE WAY BACK, ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH THE PETALS. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THIS AND IT'S A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS FIXED. IT JUST RANDOMLY HAPPENED GETTING OUT OF THE CAR AND THE NEXT TIME ENTERING THE SEAT WAS FROZEN ALL THE WAY BACK. IT'S A 362.40 REPAIR ON AN INOPERABLE CAR, UNACCEPTABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE PASSENGER DOOR, BUT IT FAILED TO CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR PANEL SPRING DETACHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V246000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
WHEN DRIVING, WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND SAID THAT STEERING ASSIST FAILURE PULL OVER SAFELY. THE POWER STEERING CLEARLY WENT OUT AND THE WHEEL WAS SIGNIFICANTLY HEAVIER. LUCKILY I HAD ENOUGH SPACE ON THE ROAD, AND THE STRENGTH TO MOVE THE WHEEL. AFTER DOING SO, I TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON TO SEE IF IT WOULD CLEAR, THEN IT SAID THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, AND STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY TWICE AS IT STARTS UP, AND NO POWER STEERING. VEHICLE IS AT IN THE 83,000 MILES ROUND ABOUT. WAITING FOR MY APPOINTMENT AT FORD TO RUN A $150 DIAGNOSTIC SO THE CAN TELL ME THE EPAS IS OUT WHICH I WAS READING ABOUT IN THE MANUAL, WHEN I WAS LOOK FOR THE POWER STEERING FLUID WHICH I WAS LOOKING FOR DURING THE ONSET OF THE PROBLEM TO CHECK, AND COULDN'T FIND. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, TURNING ON A BEND IN THE HIGH WAY. SPEED WAS ROUGHLY 30 MPH. ON A SEPARATE NOTE, THE RIGHT SUSPENSION/SPRING THING, MAKES A CLINKING SOUND AT SLOW SPEEDS WHEN TURNING OR TUNING THE WHEEL. HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS BEFORE I FIGURED OUT THE SOURCE OF THE NOISE. I HAVEN'T BROUGHT IT UP TO FORD SERVICE DEPT YET.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.

THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR LATCH FAILED, AND SO THE DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED. WHEN DRIVING, THE DOOR MUST BE HELD CLOSED BY THE DRIVER (I RESORTED TO TYING A ROPE FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE IN ORDER TO GET THE CAR HOME). WHEN TAKING RIGHT TURNS, IF NOT PROPERLY SECURED BY THE DRIVER'S ARM, THE DOOR WILL FLY OPEN WHICH COULD LEAD TO THE DRIVER BEING EJECTED FROM THE MOVING VEHICLE. AFTER THE DOOR INITIALLY FAILED, I CONTACTED THE NEAREST FORD DEALER ABOUT GETTING THE CAR REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD THE EXISTING DOOR LATCH RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE AND THAT THEY HAD NO PARTS IN STOCK FOR A REPAIR. FORD ISSUED A RECALL FOR FAULTY DOOR LATCHES ON SPECIFIC 2014 FUSION MODELS. MINE APPARENTLY WAS NOT ONE OF THEM, BUT STILL SUFFERS FROM THE SAME FAULTY DOOR LATCH DESIGN. THE EXISTING RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO PROPERLY COVER ALL FUSIONS (AND THE OTHER AFFECTED FORD/LINCOLN MODELS) WITH THESE INFERIOR DOOR LATCHES SUFFERING FROM FAULTY "PAWL SPRINGS". INQUIRIES TO THE PARTS DEPARTMENTS OF TWO LOCAL FORD AUTHORIZED DEALERS HAVE NOT BEEN FRUITFUL; THE PART IS APPARENTLY OUT OF STOCK AT ALL DEALERS IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA AND THERE IS NO ETA ON A REPLACEMENT. AN INQUIRY TO AN ONLINE OUTLET CALLED FORD PARTS GIANT SHOWS THE PART NUMBER GIVEN TO ME BY THE DEALER TO BE DISCONTINUED. THAT PART IS AE8Z-5421813-E, DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE IN AN ATTEMPT TO LOCATE A PROPER REPLACEMENT PART SOMEWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY USEFUL INFORMATION.
DRIVING EAST NEAR PARK CITY, KS ON A COUNTY ROAD AT ABOUT 35 TO 40 MPH WHEN THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. I COULD STILL STEER THE CAR BUT WITH VERY MUCH EFFORT. I WAS STARTLED BUT WAS NOT IN A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION AND CLOSE TO HOME. I HAVE TRIED A FEW THINGS TO GET IT TO RESET, LIKE DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY FOR A PERIOD OF TIME BUT TO NO AVAIL. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 40 TO 50 THOUSAND MILES ON IT AND IS VIRTUALLY WORTHLESS. THE REPLACEMENT PART IS $1,500 TO $2,000 AND IT COULD FAIL EVEN SOONER. THE PROBLEM IS HEAT RELATED AND FORD HAS TRIED A NUMBER APPROACHES TO FIX THE PROBLEM DURING THE LAST FEW YEARS. THE HALF A MILLION RECALLS THAT I HAVE READ ABOUT TELLS ME THAT IT IS SIMPLY A BAD IDEA AND SHOULD BE SCUTTLED. MY CAR REPRESENTS A LAME TRY TO KICK THE PROBLEM DOWN THE ROAD, SILVER FOIL WRAPPED AROUND THE COMMUNICATION CABLE THAT RUNS BETWEEN THE TWO ELECTRIC MODULES.

CAR AT FORD DEALER NOW WILL PROVIDE THE RECEIPT OF WHAT MADE IT FAILED !!! AND CALLED FORD WANTED TO SPEAK WITH MANAGER AND THEY DON'T PUT YOU THROUGH AT ALL. SAY THEY WILL CALL BACK WITHIN 2 DAYS A WEEK WENT BY AND NO CALL!!! SOMEONE COULD OF GOT KILLED!!!
WHILE STARTING MY CAR, THE FOLLOWING WARNING MESSAGES APPEARED: HILL ASSIST, SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THE WARNING MESSAGES DISAPPEARED. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR THESE PROBLEMS, BUT IT WAS NOT FIXED. IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED NUMEROUS TIMES. IT IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. NOW, THE FOLLOWING MESSAGES HAVE APPEARED: STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED, SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, & HILL ASSIST. THE STEERING IS VERY DIFFICULT. THESE MESSAGES APPEARED WHILE DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED ON A CITY STREET.. I PULLED THE CAR OVER, TURNED IT OFF, & RESTARTED THE CAR. THE WARNING MESSAGES DISAPPEARED. THE CAR WAS RESTARTED & DRIVEN A FEW MORE TIMES LAST NIGHT. THE MESSAGES DID NOT COME ON AGAIN. THIS WAS AUGUST 14,2017.
THE BLIS SYSTEM ON THIS CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED A FEW TIMES NOW AND IT IS STILL HAVING ISSUES. EITHER ONE SIDE OF THE BLIS WILL STAY LIT FOR A MILE OR MORE ON THE INTERSTATE WITH NOTHING THERE OR IT WILL FAIL TO ACTIVATE IF A CAR IS LOCATED IN THE BLINDSPOT. OCCASIONALLY, I WILL BE SITTING PERFECTLY STILL AND ONE SIDE OF THE BLIS SYSTEM WILL JUST LIGHT UP FOR NO REASON OR A PROXIMITY SENSOR WILL TRIGGER. THE SYSTEM ON THIS CAR IS UNRELIABLE AND NOT ACTUALLY PROMOTING ANY ADDITIONAL SAFETY. IT SEEMS THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE.
EXHAUST IS COMING THROUGH THE AIR VENTS WHEN THE HEAT IS ON. FORD HAS HAD THIS CAR IN THE SHOP IN THE PAST FOR THIS ISSUE BUT IT THE PROBLEM HAS REAPPEARED. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRESH AIR BLEND DOOR. THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR HAS OFFERED TO BUY THE VEHICLE BACK DUE TO NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE.
I'VE HAD MY CAR ONE YEAR AND IT HAS 50K MILES ON IT. THE POWER STEERING RANDOMLY WENT OUT AND NOW MY ENTIRE EPS HAS TO BE REPLACED.
SWOLLEN LUG NUTS SECURING THE WHEEL(S) TO THE VEHICLE. WHILE EXPERIENCING A FLAT TIRE I HAD TWO ROAD SERVICE CALLS COME TO REMOVE THE FLAT TIRE WITH MY SPARE WITHOUT SUCCESS AS THEIR LUG WRENCHES COULD NOT REMOVE ANY INCLUDING ALL TWENTY WHEEL LUG NUTS. I HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH FUSION LUG NUTS. DOING AN INTERNET WEB SEARCH, I FOUND THAT THIS INDEED IS A UNKNOWN COMMON PROBLEM!
2 WEEKS AGO AS I'M DRIVING AND MAKE A LEFT TURN THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FLIES OPEN NEARLY CAUSING MY 10 MONTH OLD NEPHEW TO FALL OUT OF THE MOVING VEHICLE. MY NIECE HAD TO GRAB HIS CARSEAT FROM THE SHEER FEAR AND PANIC OF THE INCIDENT. I IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER TO CONSOLE AND CALM DOWN MY NEPHEW AND REALIZED THE DOOR LATCH IS BROKEN AND THE DOOR WON'T CLOSE AND STAY SHUT. AND ALSO REALIZED HE HAD A SMALL BRUISE ON HIS RIGHT CHEEK FROM THE LASH OF HIS CAR SEAT BEING SECURED BY THE SEATBELT AND BUMPED HIS FACE AGAINST THE CAR SEAT. SO I HAD TO PURCHASE BUNGEE CORDS TO KEEP THE DOOR FROM FLYING OPEN AS I DRIVE. SO THEREFORE NOW, THE LIGHTS CONSTANTLY STAY ON BECAUSE THE DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN AND ALSO BECAUSE THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN AND CAN'T LOCK, I'M AT RISK OF AUTO THEFT OR MY BELONGINGS BEING STOLEN. I'VE TALKED TO BOTH FORD CORPORATE AND THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THE RECALLS FOR THE 2013-2015 FORD FUSION DOOR LATCH ISSUES. BUT BECAUSE MY VIN# TO MY CAR DOESN'T POPULATE AS ONE TO BE RECALLED THEY SAY I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIRS AND IT COSTS NEARLY $400 TO GET THE ONE DOOR REPAIRED. I'VE DONE ALL I'VE COULD TO GET THEM TO REPAIR IT BUT THEY DON'T CARE AND TOLD ME EITHER I PAY FOR IT OR IT WON'T GET FIXED.
WHILE DRIVING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DROVE DIRECTLY TO DEALER. AFTER DIAGNOSES THEY INFORMED THAT IT HAD A CRACKED BLOCK ON #4 CYLINDER. QUOTED A COMPLETE MOTOR CHANGE.
MY CAR VEERED OFF THE ROAD AND I HIT A CUT OFF TREE ABOUT THE DIAMETER OF A TELEPHONE POLE. IT HIT DEAD CENTER IN THE FRONT AND NOT ONE SINGLE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND THE SEATBELT LET ME FLY UP AND HIT MT HEAD VERY HARD ON SOMETHING.

LUCKILY I WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED - I WAS LUCKY IF THE CAR WAS GOING 1 MILE/HOUR. WAS ON A 2 LANE CITY STREET. I WAS TURNING AROUND IN A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT - ONCE I GOT ON THE ROAD IT HAPPENED WITHIN SECONDS
I WAS DRIVING MY FORD FUSION HYBRID TODAY ON THE INTERSTATE AND HAD A COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING, THEN A NOTICED POPPED ON MY DASHBOARD STATING TO STOP SAFELY NOW. I PRESSED THE GAS PETTLE AND THE EV MODE KICKED ON, PROPELLING MY VEHICLE SPEED TO OVER 85 MILES PER HOUR. I WAS EXTREMELY NERVOUS BECAUSE THE FORDS ELECTRIC VEHICLE ENGINES ARE LIMITED TO 85 MPH IN PURE EV MODE. I WAS ABLE TO COME TO THE SHOULDER OF THE INTERSTATE. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. ALL SEEMED TO BE OK, AS SOON AS I PUSHED THE GAS PETTLE TO GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY THE INFORMATION DASHBOARD WAS ALARMING ME TO STOP SAFELY NOW. I DID NOT HAVE ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON. I THEN REVVED THE ENGINE TO SEE IF I WOULD EXPERIENCE ANYTHING, THE ENGINE FINALLY CAME ON, THEN REVVED AND I FELT THAT EVEN THOUGH I WAS IN PARK IF MY FOOT WOULD HAVE BEEN OFF OF THE BREAK PETTLE MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE MOVED FORWARD. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AS SOON AS I FELT THIS THE ENGINE WAS CONSTANTLY REVVING UNTIL I TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF SWITCH. I THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS DRIVING AT 76 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND COMPLETE FAILURE OCCURRED.
I GOT MY CAR SERVICES AT 41094. THEY INSPECTED NOTHING WAS FOUND CRITICAL AT THAT TIME. THEN SUDDENLY ONE DAY DURING DRIVING ON THE STREET AT ABOUT 35 MPH THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON (MILAGE ~45480). I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING SOME ACCELERATION LAG ISSUES LATELY BUT THOSE WILL COME AND GO, THE CAR WILL TAKE LONGER TIME TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED. SO, I DROPPED IT OFF TO THE DEALER. THEY HAVE FOUND THAT THE TURBO CONNECTOR AND THE TURBOCHARGER WAS FULL OF OIL. THIS INDEED IS COVERED UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. SO, THEY REPLACED THE TURBO CHARGER. I HAVE RECEIVED MY CAR BACK WITH THE REPLACED TURBO CHARGER AND I DON'T EXPERIENCE THE ACCELERATION LAG ANYMORE. MY COMPLAINT: I THINK THIS DOES EFFECT THE SAFETY BECAUSE WHILE ENTERING THE FREEWAY YOU NEED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE AND IF IT DOESN'T HAPPEN IN A TIMELY MANNER THEN IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. CAR ACCELERATES SUDDENLY AFTER THE LAG.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

A SAFETY RECALL (16S42) WAS ISSUED FOR "SEATBELT PRETENSIONER CABLES MAY SEPARATE DURING DEPLOYMENT AND MAY NOT RESTRAIN THE OCCUPANTS IN A CRASH". ALL THE FORD DEALERSHIPS AROUND ME (ZIP 95008) SAY THEY CANNOT DO THE RECALL UNTIL JANUARY 2018. THIS SEEMS LIKE A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED MUCH MORE QUICKLY. FORD SHOULD PROVIDE MORE PARTS IN A TIMELY MANNER AND ALLOW DEALERSHIPS TO DO THE REPAIRS. I WAS TOLD THAT BY A DEALERSHIP THAT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO ONLY DO SO MANY OF THESE REPAIRS PER WEEK AND THAT IS WHY THEIR APPOINTMENTS ARE SO FAR OUT. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING MYSELF AND MY KIDS AROUND UNTIL JANUARY OF NEXT YEAR IN A CAR WHERE THE SEATBELTS MIGHT NOT WORK.
