CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY, YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR STARTED SHAKING AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I BARELY MADE IT TO SAFETY ON THE HIGHWAY FULL OF CARS. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED IT OFF BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T DRIVE. I TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT DROVE FINE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND REALIZED THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO OWN 2016 FUSIONS AND YET THERE IS NO RECALL. I AM TERRIFIED OF DRIVING IT. IT SEEMS TO BE THE THROTTLE BODY THAT NEEDS COMPLETE REPLACEMENT BUT AT EXPENSE OF THE OWNER DESPITE THOUSANDS OF CASES. HOW CAN THIS BE? PLEASE ADVISE.
SHAKING NO POWER WON'T ACCELERATE AND JERKING WHEN BACKING UP
2016 FORD FUSION WITH: 99D 1.5 L ECOBOOST ENGINE, 44W 6 SPEED AUTO TRANSMISSION. ENGINE HAS LOST POWER 3 TIMES WHILE DRIVING WITHIN A PERIOD OF 10 DAYS. ENGINE REMAINS RUNNING BUT WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND REMAINS IN "LIMP" MODE UNTIL THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATES. NO ENGINE LIGHTS DISPLAYED. DEALER RAN DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WITHOUT FINDING ANY PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE WITHOUT A FAULT CODE. THE NEXT TIME LOSS OF POWER HAPPENED, I WAS DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LEAVE THE CAR SO THEY COULD KEEP THE CAR AND DRIVE IT HOPING TO GET IT TO LOSE POWER. THEY KEPT THE CAR AND DROVE IT A TOTAL OF ALMOST 100 MILES OVER 3 DAYS WITHOUT IT LOSING POWER. DEALER STILL REUSES TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER WITHOUT EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM AND GETTING A FAULT CODE. I WAS TOLD TO COME BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I'VE BEEN VERY LUCKY THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT DOESN'T RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
WHEN DRIVING CAR & USING BRAKES PEDAL WILL GO PART WAY TO FLOOR WITHOUT HAVING ANY BRAKES WORK & DASH WARNING LIGHTS WILL COME ON THAT INCLUDE HILL STAR ASSIST , CHECK REAR PARK AID, SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC, ABS LIGHT & AIR BAG LIGHT... I HAVE HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE TWICE AT SLOW SPEED SO WAS ABLE TO COAST CAR TO A STOP WITHOUT HAVING POSSIBLY A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD CAR AT 2 DEALERSHIPS TRYING TO GET CAR FIXED... THEY HAVE REPLACED BRAKE LINES & SPEED SENSOR WITH NO GOOD RESULTS. THEY WILL WRITE DOWN ON WORK ORDER THAT CUSTOMER STATES THIS IS A PROBLEM & THAT THEY WILL TEST DRIVE IT & BE UNABLE TO VERIFY CONCERN . THUS RETURNING CAR TO ME. I BOUGHT CAR WITH APPROXIMATELY 23,000 MILES & NOW AT 87,000 WITH PROBLEM HAPPENING EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. ALSO HAVING OTHER PROBLEMS WITH CAR BUT THIS ONE IS VERY SERIOUS.
THE HEATING WILL ONLY WORK FOR THE FIRST 10 MINUTES OF THE DRIVE. THEN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM FREEZES AND THE HEAT SHUTS OFF. THE RADIO WILL TURN ON TO FULL VOLUME AND YOU CAN'T TURN OFF THE RADIO, OR TURN DOWN THE VOLUME. THE HEAT WILL NOT TURN BACK ON AND ALL THE COMPUTER FUNCTIONS STOP WORKING. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $5000 TO START TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL, MY AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS GOING OFF AND ISSUING WARNING STATING MY AIRBAG DOESNT WORK
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the electrical system malfunctioned causing the instrument panel to become inoperable. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer was unable to diagnose the vehicle. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the vehicle as well. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.
STEERING WHEEL HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 68K MILES, DUE TO HAVING BEEN MADE OF INFERIOR MATERIALS, BECAME A HAZARD IN 3 DAYS AND WAS ADVISED TO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE STEERING WHEEL COULD FAIL IN EMERGENCY DRIVING SITUATIONS.
THE WIPERS WILL STOP INDIVIDUALLY AND RANDOMLY WHEN IN USE. IT SEEMS TO BE MORE OF AN ISSUE DURING LIGHT RAIN BUT HAS HAPPENED DURING HEAVY RAIN ON OCCASION AS WELL. I HAVE BEEN TO MY DEALER FOR THIS AND THEY SAID I NEEDED NEW WIPER BLADES. THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTEE AT THAT TIME. IT HAS REOCCURRED AND I WILL VISIT MY DEALER AGAIN. I HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ON FUSION AND OTHER FORD VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE DATE I USED IS THE DATE OF LAST OCCURRENCE NOT THE DATE OF FIRST OCCURRENCE. SINCE THIS IS MY DAUGHTERS CAR SHE THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY FOR THE WIPERS TO HANG ONCE IN A WHILE. I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS AS A SAFE FEATURE!
WHILE DRIVING AT A STEADY 45 MPH ON A CITY STREET MY FORD FUSION LOST ENGINE POWER. THE TACHOMETER DROPPED TO LESS THAN 500RPM, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT AND THE HAVE DEALER SERVICE VEHICLE LIGHT CAME ON. PUMPING THE GAS PEDAL DID NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON RPMS. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A SAFE AREA. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WHEN I RESTARTED THE ENGINE IT WAS STILL IDLING UNDER 500RPM AND THE GAS PEDAL HAD NO EFFECT ON ENGINE SPEED. AFTER THE 3RD RESTART, I COULD GET ENOUGH ENGINE SPEED TO RETURN TO MY HOTEL BUT IT RAN VERY ROUGH WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO A CARMAX DEALER IN HENDERSON, NV. I PURCHASED IT FROM A DIFFERENT DEALER IN ROSEVILLE, CA. THEY SENT IT TO A FORD DEALER IN HENDERSON. THE DEALER REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY - ATTACHING THE REPAIR INVOICE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT ONLINE AND THAT FORD SOMEHOW STOPPED NORTH CAROLINA FROM FORCING THEM TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN ONE HECK OF AN ACCIDENT AS THE CAR RAPIDLY SLOWED DOWN WITHOUT WARNING.
THIS VEHICLE IS AT 48800 MILES AND I STARTED TO RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS/ERRORS ON MY DASHBOARD WHEN THE PROBLEMS BEGAN: "HILL HOLD ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE", "SERVICE ADVANCETRACK", ABS FAULT AND AIRBAG FAILURE SIGN LIGHTS REMAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. AFTER THESE WARNINGS I LOST POWER STEERING ASSIST AND PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE CAR. HOWEVER THE WARNING SIGNS DID NOT CLEAR AND I LOST ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND AIRBAGS. I HAVE CONTACTED WITH A FORD DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. ERROR CODES THEY GOT FROM THE CAR WERE C0031 AND U0401. THE FIRST ONE IS RELATED TO A SHORT WIRE IN THE ABS WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AT THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL AND THIS PART WAS REPLACED AT THE DEALER. HOWEVER, AFTER REPLACEMENT ALL THE MENTIONED WARNINGS/ERRORS REMAIN AND U0401 CODE REMAINED. DEALER DOES NOT KNOW WHETHER THESE ARE JUST FROM COMMUNICATION ERROR FROM THE COMPUTER OR THESE PARTS ARE ACTUALLY DEFECTIVE. I AM NOT ABLE TO USE THE CAR RIGHT NOW. IN ANY CASE, ALL OF THE AFFECTED SYSTEMS ARE NOT RELATED WITH DRIVERS DRIVING HABITS, STORAGE CONDITIONS AND OTHER THINGS RELATED TO THE USAGE OF THE CAR AND SEEMS LIKE A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM, EVEN IF IT IS A COMMUNICATION ERROR OR WIRING PROBLEM. AND THE AFFECTED COMPONENTS ARE VITAL SO IF THERE IS A PRODUCTION ERROR, THIS SHOULD BE RESOLVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
EXTREMELY HARD SHIFTS WITH HESITATION JUST PRIOR. IHAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY CANNOT REPEAT THE PROBLEM AND THE SHIFTING IS NORMAL. (THE MILEAGE AND DATE ARE APPROXIMATE AS THE PROBLEM IS ONGOING)
UPON ENTERING AN INTERSECTION,THE SIGNAL LIGHT WAS GREEN AND MY CAR WAS STUCK BY A CAR THAT RAN THE RED LIGHT. MY CAR WAS HIT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AND THEN THE OTHER CAR SLAMMED INTO MY CAR AGAIN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,609.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,394.

A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A BOLT SCREW NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY UP A SMALL SLIGHT HILL, MADE A RIGHT TURN, THEN ANOTHER QUICK RIGHT TURN TO DRIVE STRAIGHT INTO A PARKING SPOT LOCATED IN A CONDO PARKING LOT AND TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO PUT IT ON THE BRAKE. I WAS PROBABLY GOING 2 TO 3 MPH. A PERSON COULD HAVE OUTWALKED THE CAR. SUDDENLY THE CAR SEEMED TO HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN AND LURCHED FORWARD. I PRESSED DOWN HARDER ON THE BRAKE, BUT IT DIDN'T STOP. IN ADDITION TO GOING FORWARD, THE CAR ALSO WENT ON A SLIGHT ANGLE TO THE RIGHT. AT SOME POINT I MUST HAVE PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, BECAUSE WHEN I WENT TO BACK UP AFTER HITTING A FIRE HYDRANT, THE CAR WAS IN PARK. THE FIRE HYDRANT WAS LOCATED IN A PLANT AREA LOWER THAN THE PARKING SPOT SURROUNDED BY A CURB. I AM UNSURE IF I ACCIDENTALLY PUT MY FOOT BACK ON THE GAS, BUT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IS VERY UNLIKELY. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND THE MOTION FROM THE GAS TO THE BRAKE IS A HABIT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE WEB AND THERE ARE REPORTS FROM OTHERS THAT FORD FUSIONS HAVE LUNGED FORWARD WHEN TAKING THEIR FOOT OFF THE GAS AND PUTTING ON THE BRAKE. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE CAR AND THE ONLY ONE INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT AND I WAS NOT INJURED. THERE WERE NO WITNESSES.
ONE AFTERNOON WHILE GETTING INTO MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE TO WORK, I TURNED THE CAR ON AND WENT TO DRIVE AND NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SLIGHTLY LOOSE. OVER THE COURSE OF THE WEEK THE PROBLEM WORSENED AND I CONTACTED THE DEALER. I ALSO DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH AND THERE APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE OF THIS MODEL. THE STEERING WHEEL CONTINUES TO GRADUALLY LOOSEN UP.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the battery had failed several times and was replaced approximately 5 times. The contact also stated there was exhaust coming out of the tailpipe during the initial start-up. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the alternator was producing 20 volts while accelerating, causing the battery to overheat and burn out. Additionally, cylinder #3 was misfiring due to anti-freeze leaking into the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and it was confirmed that there were no recalls related to the failure. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 142,728.
GOT IN MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE IT ONE DAY AND MY STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY LOOSE. IT WOBBLED ON THE COLUMN. HAD TO TAKE IT INTO A DEALERSHIP. WHEN THEY LOOKED AT IT SAID THE BOLT WAS LOOSE ENOUGH TO UNSCREW WITH YOUR HAND.

THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AGAIN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,451.
STEERING WHEEL IS COMING LOOSE AND FEELS LIKE ITS ABOUT TO FALL OFF.
I WAS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT IN SCRANTON PA AND THE STEERING WHEEL CAME SO LOSE THAT IT ALMOST CAME RIGHT OFF. IT SCARED ME TO THE POINT WERE I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR. SOMETHING HAS TO DONE ABOUT THIS BECAUSE I DID SOME DIGGING AND FOUND OUT THAT I'M NOT THE FIRST ONE THIS HAPPENED TO. THIS HAS BEEN A ON GOING PROBLEM IN FORD FUSIONS SINCE 2014. IF THIS KEEPS UP MORE PEOPLE WILL BE HURT OR KILLED.
ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2016 FORD FUSION, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. BUT A COUPLE DAYS LATER, IT WENT AWAY. NOW AFTER THE CAR SITS OVER NIGHT AND I AWAKE IN THE MORNING TO GO TO WORK, THE CAR CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. IT JUST GOES COMPLETELY DEAD. ITS A GOOD THING I HAVENT BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THAT HAPPENS. THE LOSES ALL POWER AND ACCELERATION. I THEN HAVE TO TURN THE SWITCH OFF AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE I CAN THEN ACCELERATE AGAIN. IT HAS HAPPENED EVERY MORNING FOR THE PAST MONTH.
MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME UNHINGED ON ITS OWN AND IT BECAME VERY LOOSE. THE FORD DEALERSHIP CLAIMED IT WAS FROM PULLING ON THE STEERING WHEEL, BUT THAT CANNOT BE THE CASE. I FIRST NOTICED IT DRIVING INTO WORK AND THE STEERING WHEEL ALL OF A SUDDEN WENT LEFT TO RIGHT RATHER QUICKLY. I DIDN'T LOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR, BUT I BELIEVE THAT WAS THE MOMENT THE STEERING WHEEL GOT LOOSE. THEN AS I WAS STARTING TO LEAVE WORK THAT AFTERNOON, THE STEERING WHEEL JUST SAGGED DOWN AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. I HAVE DOCUMENTS OF THE INVOICE FROM FORD. I REALLY FEEL LIKE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. *BF *TR

THIS IS THE SECOND YEAR SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW IN 2016. THE STEERING WHEEL IS GETTING LOOSE AND LOOSE AND IT IS NOW HARD FOR ME TO DRIVE EXACTLY STRAIGHT AT A HIGH SPEED (AT OR ABOVE 55MPH).

THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A DEAD BATTERY 2 TIMES AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT. NO EXTRA POWER DRAWS WE ADDED. THE LAST RESULTED WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT ON ONCE IT WAS JUMP STARTED. THE ENGINE CODE THAT WAS ON WAS A P068A ECM/PCM POWER RELAY DE-ENERGIZED PERFORMANCE. IT WILL BE SCHEDULED TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP TO TRY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE

AFTER PUTTING MY CAR IN REVERSE I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT HESITATES FOR ABOUT 4 MINUTES BEFORE MOVING INTO DRIVE. THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER WHAT I AM DRIVING ON.....
I FEEL THE FLOORBOARD MOVING UNDER MY FOOT EVERY TIME I TURN THE WHEEL. TOOK IT IN AND THEY SAID THAT IT DOESNT DO IT. THATS BECAUSE THEY MUST HAVE BENT IT BACK. FORD SYNC SYSTEM. SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASE THE SYNC SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK. IT IS CONSTANTLY LOOSING HANDS FREE DEVICES AND NOT RECOGNIZING ANY VOICE COMMANDS. I HAVE CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE, HAD THE DEALERSHIP TRY AND FIX THE PROBLEM NUMEROUS TIMES, CALLED SYNC AND HAVE BEEN HOLD TO DO A MASTER REST AND TO TAKE THE BATTERY CABLES OFF. I'M HAVING TO DO THIS EVERY DAY. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY HOWEVER IT'S COSTING ME $50.00 TO HAVE IT REPROGRAMMED PLEASE HELP WITH THIS SO OTHER FORD CUSTOMERS DON'T EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUE
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT ABOUT 25 MILES AN HOUR, FIRST THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT THEN THERE WAS A WARNING TO STOP DRIVING THE CAR. A BIG EXCLAMATION MARK WAS IN THE DISPLAY. THE CAR LOST POWER AND SLOWED TO A STOP. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. I TRIED RESTARTING THE CAR AND ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE STILL THERE SO I RAN THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS REPORT. WHICH STATED THERE WAS A THROTTLE PROBLEM AND ENGINE FAILURE AND AIRBAG FAILURE AND BRAKE FAILURE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP.
WHILE UNDER NORMAL OPERATION AT HIGHWAY SPEED (65-70MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON) THE CAR ALERTED ME TO AN ERROR ("SERVICE ADVANCETRAC") AND IMMEDIATELY DEACTIVATED: CRUISE CONTROL, TRACTION CONTROL, EMERGENCY BRAKE ASSIST, AND A COUPLE OTHER SYSTEMS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. THE CAR WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN SPEED AND BEGAN LOSING POWER. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AND TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND OFF TWICE, THE ALERTS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT PERSISTED THROUGH THE VEHICLE RESTARTS. I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND MERGE BACK INTO TRAFFIC; HOWEVER, THE MAXIMUM SPEED I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN WAS EXACTLY 50MPH AND I THINK THAT MAY HAVE ONLY BEEN UNDER BATTERY POWER PROVIDED BY THE HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM (I.E., ELECTRIC DRIVE), SINCE NO ENGINE NOISE WAS APPARENT WHILE TRYING TO MAINTAIN SPEED. I WAS ABLE TO PARK AT A GAS STATION AND CALL FORD ROAD SIDE SERVICE. I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC ADAPTER ON THE CAR AND THE ADAPTOR REPORTED THE ERROR CODE OF: P2112 THROTTLE ACTUATOR "A" CONTROL SYSTEM-STUCK CLOSED. THE SAME ERROR CODE WAS ALSO FOUND BY THE FORD DEALER, WHICH REPAIRED THE ERROR UNDER WARRANTY.
HARSH OR DELAYED SHIFTING WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION OR AFTER SLOWING IN TRAFFIC AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE. HAPPENS IN DRIVE AND REVERSE. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE. ONLY 1150 MILES ON CAR AT THIS TIME. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO RESOLUTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 80 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED ABRUPTLY AND BEGAN TO SHAKE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE "WRENCH" AS WELL AS THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARD. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AUTO NATION FORD OF KATY, TEXAS WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM BULLETIN #: 16V32, HAD EXPIRED ON THE VEHICLE SEPTEMBER 30, 2017 REGARDING THE THROTTLE BODY FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,000.
CAR SOLD AT 30917 MILES AS CERTIFIED. ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 41357 WITH CODES FOR EMISSION SYSTEM AND ENGINE LIGHTS. CODES P0420 DUE TO DEFECTIVE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, ENGINE MISFIRE, VACUUM LEAK, OR ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE INTO EXHAUST. VERY HIGH GAS CONSUMPTION. DRIVING VEHICLE IN NORMAL ACCELERATION ON HIGHWAY.
WE'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SWISHING MOVEMENT OF THE THE GAS IN THE GAS TANK WHEN BRAKING, GOING OVER A RUGGED SURFACE & GOING OVER SPEED BUMPS OR POTHOLES. SOME TIMES THERE IS A STRONG SMELL OF GAS FROM INSIDE THE CAR TO THE POINT WHERE WE HAVE TO PUT THE WINDOWS DOWN. WE'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO 2 SEPARATE FORD SERVICES & NEITHER HAS BEEN ABLE TO REMEDY THE ISSUE. WE'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE SOUND IS COMING FROM OUR REAR BRAKES TO BEING TOLD THAT THERE WAS WATER IN THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN CONSTANT STILL SO THERE'S NO WAY COULD IT BE CAUSED BY THOSE. WE'VE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE ISSUE SEVERAL DIFFERENT TIMES AT THE 1ST LOCATION AND ONCE AT THE 2ND LOCATION, WE'VE WENT ON TEST DRIVES & ALL THE TECHNICIANS HAVE HEARD & FELT THE NOISE, BUT BOTH LOCATION SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT & WHENEVER I'LL PICK THE CAR BACK UP THEY'LL SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUES. OUR MILES HAS NOW BEEN GOING DOWN WAY FASTER THAN USUAL AS WELL & OUR AVERAGE MPG HAS BEEN DROPPING SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE THIS FIRST STARTED TO OCCUR. WE ALSO HAVE BEEN NEEDING TO FILL UP THE TANK ABOUT 3-4 TIME A WEEK NOW COMPARED TO JUST ONCE BECAUSE THE GAS JUST HAS BEEN DROPPING SO FAST & INACCURATE READINGS ON THE MILES WE'VE DRIVEN. THE SWISHING AROUND CAN BE HEARD VERY LOUDLY & FELT MORE IN NIGHT TIME DRIVING & ESPECIALLY WHEN BRAKING IN TRAFFIC & APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT/SIGN. THERE ARE TIMES AFTER PARKING, SHUTTING OFF IGNITION & EXITING THE CAR THAT THERE'S SMELL OF GAS HEAVY TO THE REAR OF THE CAR & I'VE ALSO OBSERVED THE SMELL COMING FROM THE OPENINGS OF THE REAR WHEELS. I'M AFRAID IN THE EVENT OF A REAR/SIDE COLLISION THAT THE CHANCE OF AN EXPLOSION IS MUCH HIGHER. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2017 & ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS TOLD A FORD SERVICE PERSON ABOUT IT TO NO AVAIL. I'VE CALLED FORD TO COMPLAIN IN DEC & FEB & ONLY SAID TO TAKE ELSEWHERE.
Soon after purchasing this vehicle the Bluetooth and phone links quit working. I researched and found an abundance of complaints regarding this issue. After contacting dealer and manufacturer I was basically told tough luck on this $1100.00 repair. In my opinion this is a safety issue since not being able to talk hands free can increase driver distraction. Furthermore; several states have enacted laws against hand held phone calls. Since this is an advertised feature, Ford should step up and correct this issue!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO POWER FORD (1101 MONTAO RD NE, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87107 (505) 766-6600) FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, INCLUDING AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVED HOME, HE CHECKED THE CAP ON THE LUG NUTS WITH HIS FINGERS AND FOUND THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL LUG NUT WAS LOOSE. THE MECHANIC AT POWER FORD CAME OUT AND CHECKED ALL THE LUG NUTS, BUT FOUND NO ISSUES. THE CONTACT ORDERED A LUG WRENCH FROM FORD, BUT THE WRENCH DID NOT FIT THE VEHICLE'S LUG NUTS. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE LUG NUT WRENCH AND RECEIVED A REFUND. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THIS WAS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH FORD LUG NUTS SPREADING AND VEHICLE OWNERS BEING SUPPLIED WITH THE WRONG LUG NUT WRENCH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,940. UPDATED 10/25/17*LJ UPDATED 10/30/2017*JS
WHEN TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AT 60MPH AND I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT DOWN SHIFT OR SLOW DOWN. A STRANGE SOUND CAN BE HEARD UNTIL I PRESS ON THE BRAKES. THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT SOMETIMES.. THERE IS A STRANGE SOUND WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL.
THE STEERING WHEEL CAME LOOSE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN, TILT, ROTATE, ETC ON MULTIPLE AXIS (LEFT AND RIGHT AS NORMAL, DIAGONAL, UP AND DOWN, FORWARD AND BACKWARD) UP TO ONE INCH BEFORE RESISTANCE WAS MET. THE MOTION OCCURRED IN THE UPPER PART OF THE STEERING COLUMN, ONLY AFFECTING THE STEERING WHEEL. I WAS STILL ABLE TO TURN THE CAR, AS I COULD FEEL THE LOWER PART OF THE STEERING COLUMN RESPOND IN THE FLOOR. THE STEERING WHEELS INCREASED MOVEMENT OCCURRED REGARDLESS OF DRIVING OR STATIONARY STATUS. I HAVE ATTACHED THE INVOICE FROM THE MECHANIC. IT SHOWS THAT THE NUT HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE COLUMN, WHICH IS BEHIND THE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY, HAD A COME LOOSE.

AUTONATION FORD WESTLAKE IN WESTLAKE, OHIO REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT QUALIFY FOR A BUYBACK. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
CAR SLOWS DOWN,JERK,SHAKE & LIGHT COMES ON WITH A PICTURE OF A WRENCH WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY OR ON THE ROAD FEARFUL OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN ONE DAY. THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY & NOW THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN LOOKED TO DISCOVER A TOTAL OF 3 RECALLS ON THE FORD FUSION.THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT INDICATES FROM YOUR DESCRIPTION THIS SOUNDS LIKE A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE WHICH IS A KNOWN PROBLEM.

THE ONBOARD DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM DETECTED ENGINE MISFIRE, TRANSMISSION RELATED PROBLEMS. BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE AND COULDN'T DUPLICATE ISSUE. NOTHING FIXED OR REPAIRED 2) SECOND TIME SAME ISSUE HAPPENED 7/21/2017 ODOMETER 15,736 GOING UP A HILL WEST BOUND ON MCCALL, LOSS OF POWER AND ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A COUPLE OF VEHICLES. VEHICLE IS IN SERVICE AS I FILL THIS OUT.
SIMILAR TO ISSUES OTHERS WERE HAVING WITH THE THROTTLE CONTROL PLACING THE CAR INTO "LIMP" MODE, IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY AS MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY NEAR PITTSBURGH (376 WEST, NEAR THE SPLIT OF 79 NORTH/SOUTH) WITH ME IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, AND THREE KIDS UNDER THE AGE OF 9 IN THE BACK SEAT. WITHOUT WARNING, THE CAR SEEMINGLY SHUT OFF OR "THROTTLED DOWN" AND BEGAN TO SHIMMY AND SHAKE, LOSING MOST OF ITS FUNCTIONALITY. WE WERE FORCED TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WHICH WE BARELY DID, WITH VEHICLES SPEEDING PAST AT 4 LANE HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE FOLLOWING DAY, I CONTACTED FORD AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION BUT WAS NOT TOLD ANYTHING ABOUT THIS SYSTEMIC ISSUE. IT WAS NOT UNTIL I DISCOVERED THE ISSUE ON MY OWN, THAT I LEARNED ABOUT THE FACT THAT FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY CONTROL BUT INSTEAD A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM" WHICH WAS NOT COMMUNICATED TO ME, TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, UNTIL AFTER WE NEARLY LOST OUR LIVES AND I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED. THIS ISSUE IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED (IF IT HAS NOT ALREADY HAPPENED) AND IT WOULD APPEAR THAT FORD FAILS TO APPRECIATE IT. MY VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 18,000 MILES ON IT. I OWN 2 FORD VEHICLES BUT WON'T BE BUYING ANOTHER.
