WHEN DRIVING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RANDOMLY TURNS ON, ON THE FREEWAY, STREET, TURNING, ETC. AND THEN IT SAYS CHECK MANUAL. THE CAR STARTS SHAKING AND YOU CAN'T ACCELERATE. IN ORDER TO GET WHERE I NEED TO BE I HAVE TO PULL OVER CONSTANTLY AND RESTART THE CAR. I GOT IT CHECKED AT AUTO ZONE AND IT SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. OH AND BECOMES MORE DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE WHEN THE ERROR POPS UP.
I WENT TO PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND WHEN I WENT TO PUT IT IN DRIVE THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE FROM REVERSE, ALMOST RESULTING IN A CRASH. I THEN TRIED TO SHIFT TO PARK AND IT STILL REMAINED IN REVERSE. I LATER TRIED TO SHIFT TO PARK AND IT STILL WOULDN'T SHIFT SO I TURNED IT OFF AND TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON AND WOULDN'T TURN ON BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN PARK. I LEFT IT IN REVERSE WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ON AND THE NEXT MORNING HAD IT TOWED TO SHAWNEE MISSION FORD.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT BACK INTO PARK AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ACTIVATED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE NOT TO ROLL AWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE DEALER CRONIN FORD (10700 NEW HAVEN RD, HARRISON, OH 45030, 1-(513) 367-5300) HOWEVER THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). A LOANER VEHICLE WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 WE HAD THIS EXACT ISSUE, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF A RECALL. WE GOT OUT AT A REST AREA, WHEN WE RETURNED THE DASH SHOWED US IN A DIFFERENT GEAR THEN THE CAR WAS ACTUALLY IN. WHEN AT DEALERSHIP THEY STATED THAT THE PART THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE WAS THE SAME PART THAT WAS UNDER THE ABOVE RECALL, HOWEVER OUR VIN NUMBER IS NOT SHOWING UP???
MY CAR WAS PURCHASED MAY OF 2017. AUGUST 13, 2018 I GOT READY TO PARK MY CAR, AS I PUT MY CAR IN PARK THE CAR WAS STILL MOVING FORWARD AS IT WAS IN DRIVE. CONFUSED I LOOKED DOWN AT THE HANDLE AND IT WAS LITERALLY IN PARK POSITION, BUT AS I LOOKED AT THE DASHBOARD IT STATED IT WAS IN DRIVE. I COULD NOT GET THE HANDLE TO POSITION BACK IN ANY OTHER POSITION EXCEPT FOR PARK. AND AT THIS POINT THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON AT ALL. I CONTACTED AAA THEY INFORMED THERE WAS A RECALL ON ALL 2013-16 MODEL YEAR FORD FUSION TO REPLACE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHINGS. HE TOOK THE MIDDLE CONSOLE APART AND SHOWED ME A PINK STRIP AND EXPLAINED THIS IS WHERE THE SHIFTER CABLE DISCONNECTED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. HE SAID THE RECALL WAS RECENT AND TO CONTACT MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY ARE TO REPLACE IT AT NO CHARGE. I TOWED MY CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AFTER EXPLAINING IN DETAIL WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR. THEY RAN MY VIN AND TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN AS IT QUALIFIED FOR THE REPAIR. MY CAR IS INDEED A 2016 FORD FUSION NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD AND THE BUSHING DISCONNECTED FROM MY TRANSMISSION. EVERYTHING WAS FINE, UNTIL A TECHNICIAN CALLED AND AT FIRST INFORMED ME THEY WERE BACK UP AND HAD ABOUT 15 RECALLS BEFORE ME. HE SAID HE HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SHIFTER BUSHING AND IT WAS GOING TO BE OVER A WEEK. AFTER I TOLD HIM FINE I WILL WAIT.. HE THEN CHANGES HIS STORY AND SAYS MY CAR IS NOT QUALIFIED TO BE REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL AND THAT I WAS "MISINFORMED" BY THEIR REPRESENTATIVE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS. HOW IS MY CAR BEING THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF THE RECALL, AND HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE RECALL NOT CONSIDERED QUALIFIED ALL OF A SUDDEN BECAUSE YOUR TOO BACKED UP? MY CHILDREN WAS IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND IT KEPT ROLLING, IF I HAD NOT THOUGHT QUICKLY MY CAR WOULD HAVE RAN INTO THE WALL IN PARK.

UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT FOUND THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AXLE HAD DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GAUDIN FORD (6625 W ROY HORN WAY, LAS VEGAS, NEVADA), BUT THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS WERE NOT DISCLOSED. THE CONTACT ATTRIBUTED THE FAILURE TO THE DEALER'S REPAIR OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V167000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000.
PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY AT HOME. THE CAR HAD STOPPED, AND I WENT TO PUT IT IN PARK FROM DRIVE. UPON MOVEMENT THE SHIFTER BECAME STUCK INTO REVERSE AND ON THE DASH, IT READ REVERSE, BUT THE SHIFTER WAS PUSHED UP TO THE (P) PARK MARK. THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE, AND CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARD. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STIFF AND WOULD NOT MOVE. I PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I LATER FOUND OUT IT WAS THE SHIFTING MECHANISM THAT HAD BROKE. THE BUSHING THAT CONNECTS THE SHIFTING CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION BRAKE.
FORD FUSION SHIFTING CABLE COMES OFF DUE TO BUSHING BEING DETERIORATED CAUSING CAR TO GO IN REVERSE WHILE IN PARK. DUE TO THIS UNOFFICIAL RECALL MY CAR WENT BACKWARDS INTO A BUILDING UNCONTROLLABLY.
TRANSMISSION POPPED OUT OF PARK WHILE BEING UNATTENDED AND ROLLED BACKWARDS AND STRUCK A PARKED VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WHEN THE DRIVER EXITED THE VEHICLE WHILE WORKING TO PHOTOGRAPH ANOTHER VEHICLE FOR HIS JOB DUTIES. WHILE THE DRIVER WAS OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE TAKING PHOTOS, THE CAR POPPED OUT OF GEAR AND ROLLED BACKWARDS AND STRUCK A PARKED VEHICLE.
VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND BEING PLACED INTO PARK FROM DRIVE. UPON MOVEMENT THE SHIFTER BECAME STUCK IN NEUTRAL. WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO MOVE THE SHIFTER TO PARK BUT VEHICLE SCREEN READ TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. TOWED THE VEHICLE TO CAMELBACK FORD AND WAS ADVISED THE SHIFTING MECHANISM HAD BROKEN. THE BUSHING THAT CONNECTS THE SHIFTING CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION HAD BROKEN RECALL 18V471000. FORD REFUSED TO REPLACE AS VIN WAS NOT IN THE BATCH AFFECTED CURRENTLY.
THE SHIFT CABLE DETACHED, OUR VIN NUMBER DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR THIS RECALL FOR IT IS THE SAME THING THAT IS HAPPENING WITH OTHER 2016 MODELS
TAKATA RECALL- I HAD ON PREVIOUS FORD FUSION. TIRES, STABILITY, WIPERS, RIPPED INTO I JUST BOUGHT TWO NEW TIRES AUGUST 2018. THE CAR IS UNDER 9,000. MILES! THE RED ONE PREVIOUS WAS 10,OOO, MILES WHEN I HAD TO TURN IN LEASE, AND PRESSURED BY A SALESMAN. PLUS THEY PUT ON EXTRA PACKAGES, AND WHEN I CALLED, I SAID TAKE IT OFF, ETC... THEY DID NOT! I HAD TROUBLE TURNING CAR AT TIMES(BOTH) THEY HAVE RUN OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE OF TIRES AND OTHER THINGS. IT WAS HIGHWAY DRIVING. ALWAYS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (PACKEY WEBB FORD, 1815 OGDEN AVENUE, DOWNERS GROVE, IL 60515) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

CAR STARTED THROWING ME FORWARD WHEN U ACCELERATED HAD A SMALL FENDER BENDER .. IT WOULD HAVE A HARD KICK AS IF SOMEONE HIT ME FROM BEHIND . THEN IT STOP WORKING WOULDN'T GO INTO DRIVE AFTER IT WAS IN PARK IT WENT IN REVERSE ALMOST HIT SOMEONE BEHIND ME .. THEN FORD ROADSIDE NEVER SHOWED UP . FORD LOST MY CAR NO ONE COULD FIND IT ... TOW COMPANY NEVER TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WHEN I GOT THERE FOR MY RENTAL THE UPERVISOR LAUGHED AND DISMISSED MY CONCERNS EVEN AFTER I WAS IN TEARS FROM THE TRAMA IF THE DAY AND NIGHT PRIOR. I WAS PROMISED A RENTAL SO I COULD GO TO WORK AND WAS DENIED IT BC THE CAR HADN'T ARRIVED . MEANWHILE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE COULDN'T FIND WHERE MY CAR WAS . ONLINE IT SAID IT WAS PICKED UP AND TAKEN TO DEALER .. I WAS SO FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED WITH THE CHAOS . NO ONE WAS HELPING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND I WAS LATE TO WORK AND MY CHILD'S CAR SEAT WAS IN THE LOST CAR . I WAS IN TEARS AND PANIC BECAUSE OF THE STRESS OF IT ALL. I HAD TO ASK THE GM AT JIM TIDWELL TO HELP WITH A RENTAL AND WAS BEING CHARGED 380$ FOR 1 DAY RENTAL . I WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SINCE CAR IS NEW . I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE INSENSITIVE AND DISMISSIVE BEHAVIOR BY ALL THE MEN WHO I SPOKE TO . IT'S BEEN 3 WEEKS AND I KNOW NOTHING BESIDES CAR FINALLY ARRIVE AFTER BEING IMPOUNDED IN SOUTH ATLANTA. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR NOR DO U WANT TO CONTINUE AS A CUSTOMER WITH FORD.

TAKATA RECALL. SYNC SYSTEM QUITS WORKING, TRIES TO RESTART BUT DOESN'T. REAR BACK-UP CAMERA IS INOPERABLE WITH THIS CONDITION AS WELL AS ANY ENTERTAINMENT (RADIO, CD, SIRIUS, ETC.) & NAVIGATION. UPON SEARCH OF INTERNET IT IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE THEY ARE AWARE OF AND MAKING CONSUMERS PAY FOR KNOWN WIDESPREAD ISSUE.

2016 FORD FUSION S AUTO TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE LINKAGE BUSHING BROKE , I WENT TO FORD DEALERSHIP EL CAJON MAIN STREET, TO ASK THEM IF MY CAR UNDER THIS WARRANTY THIS SAID BRING YOUR CAR NEXT WEEK YOUR CAR NOT UNDER WARRANTY YOU HAVE 36800 MILES. WE WILL CHARGE YOU.
THERE ARE 2 RECALLS ON MY CAR THE MILEAGE IS 59000 AND THE SHIFTER CABLE IS THE PROBLEM RIGHT NOW THERE IS ALSO A RECALL ON THE STEERING WHEEL. APPARENTLY THE WHOLE [XXX] THING CAN FALL OFF WHILE DRIVING....THE ONLY WAY I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE SHIFTER CABLE IS BECAUSE MINE BROKE...NO NOTICE WAS SENT OUT AND THE REASON FOR IT AND THAT IS BECAUSE THEY HAVENT CREATED A STUPID BUSHING THAT WONT BREAK, THE SHIFTER IS IN PARK BUT THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL....I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED HOME. THEN THE FORD CORPORATE OFFICE TOLD ME OF THE RECALL...THEY ALSO SAID THERE IS NO PART ISSUED YET EVEN THO ALL 2013 TO 2017 MODELS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. FORD TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY NOTHING BECAUSE IT'S A RECALL. I TOOK MY CAR TO LITHIA FORD IN FRESNO CA BECAUSE CORPORATE INSTRUCTED ME TO TAKE IT THERE AND THAT WAS WHEN THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $580 OUT OF POCKET AND WILL GET REIMBURSED WHEN FORD ISSUES THE RIGHT PART...ITS BEEN OVER 4 YEARS AND THEY STILL HAVENT ISSUED THE RIGHT PART SO HOW LONG WILL IT BE TILL I GET MY MONEY BACK?!?! IF I GET MY MONEY BACK, FOR A PROBLEM THAT IS NOWHERE NEAR MY FAULT, LITHIA CAN FIX IT NOW BUT WITH THE SAME PART THAT JUST BROKE. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THE ALARM BEGAN TO CHIME AND THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY ROLLED FORWARD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. GOODYEAR EAGLE LS2 TIRES WERE DESCRIBED BY THE LOCAL FORD TECHNICIAN DURING A PRE-VACATION SERVICE AS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THAT IS AT A MILEAGE READING OF 21,338.7 MILES. WHILE I WAITED FOR A RIDE I FOUND SEVERAL FORUMS DISCUSSING THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2016 FORD FUSION ENERGI. AFTER ABOUT 12000 MILES THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SENSE THEN I TOOK MINE TO GET FIXED, THE ISSUE AND FIX, WAS REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY. FORD WON'T RECALL!
I PURCHASED 2 FEDERAL FORMOSA FD2 TIRES 235/50R17 96W. THEY WERE INSTALLED IN THE REAR OF MY CAR. THEY WERE BALANCED, AND INFLATED TO AUTO MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTIONS. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A HWY OR FWY ABOVE APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH THE CAR STABILITY CONTROL SENSOR TRIGGERS. THE CAR'S REAR WOBBLES BACK AND FORTH AND FEELS VERY INSECURE. DID SOME RESEARCH AND SEVERAL PEOPLE COMPLAIN THAT THE SIDEWALLS ARE TOO WEAK CAUSING THE VEHICLES TO WOBBLE. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ON A CITY STREET MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, AND MY SON WAS SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT. MY HUSBAND GOT WARM, AND PUSHED THE AUTOMATIC BUTTON TO ROLL DOWN HIS WINDOW. I INSTANTLY THOUGHT THIS WAS ODD SINCE I ALWAYS KEEP THE WINDOW'S LOCKED SO THAT MY SON CAN NOT PLAY WITH THE WINDOWS. I CHECKED, AND FOUND THAT THE LIGHT WAS ON INDICATING THAT THE LOCK WAS ACTIVE. I THEN PULLED OVER, AND ROLLED UP HIS WINDOW, UNLOCKED THE WINDOW, RE-LOCKED IT, AND HAD HIM DO IT AGAIN. WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING I HAD THE THOUGHT TO CHECK THE DOOR LOCKS AS WELL. HE WAS ALSO ABLE TO OPEN HIS DOOR AFTER PRESSING THE LOCK BUTTON!
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY CITY ROAD WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD IN THE BACKSEAT. THEY THEN OPENED THE DOOR WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS SCARED ME AS MY CAR IS SET TO LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WHILE DRIVING. I QUICKLY PULLED OVER, SHUT THE DOOR, GOT IN, AND RE-LOCKED THE DOOR. ONCE THE DOOR WAS RE-LOCKED I CLIMBED INTO THE BACKSEAT WITH THE CAR STILL RUNNING AND WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN. I THEN EXITED THE OPEN DOOR, AND WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE "LOCKED" DRIVERS DOOR, AND GET BACK IN. I THEN LOCKED THE DOORS AGAIN, AND TRIED OPENING THE DRIVERS DOOR, AND IT OPENED. I SHUT MY CAR OFF, TURNED IT BACK ON, LOCKED MY DOORS, TRIED OPENING THE DOOR, AND IT WAS LOCKED. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR MY CHILD! I HAVE READ OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OTHERS WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL, AND THOUGHT THAT THIS SHOULD BE DOCUMENTED WITH NHTSA.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF DIRECTION WITH THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED; HOWEVER, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE, LEFT SHOULDER, AND FOREHEAD. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A YARD AND THEN TO MANHEIM BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON FORD (7120 DORSEY RUN RD, ELKRIDGE, MD 21075, 1-(800) 533-2923) SO IT COULD BE DIAGNOSED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY OR THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.

ON SATURDAY MAR 31,2018 ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK I WAS GOING THROUGH A GREEN LIGHT ON A CITY STREET AND HIT A CAR THAT FAILED TO STOP. THE FRONT END OF CAR HIT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE OTHER CAR. NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND MY CAR HAS BEEN TOTALED DUE TO MASSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE
