BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY ON A MAIN ROAD AND PUT CAR IN DRIVE BUT IT KEPT ROLLING BACKWARDS PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND PUT IT IN PARK BUT IT STILL ROLLED BACK AFTER SEVERAL TRIES TO CHANGE GEARS AND IT DID NOT COME OUT OF REVERSE I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND CUT IT OFF AND IT WOULD NOT CRANK. AFTER HAVING IT CHECKED I LEARNED THAT THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT CABLE HAD COME OFF CAUSING THE CAR NOT TO CHANGE GEARS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE SEIZED. ALSO, THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND DISPLAYED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAC HAIK LINCOLN (4506 N NAVARRO ST, VICTORIA, TX 77904, 888-253-4662) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BUSHING TO THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,000.
VEHICLE IN MOTION. AFTER 40MPH, SERVICE ADVANCETRAC LIGHTS ON DASH. ABS IS ACTIVATED EVEN THOUGH ON DRY GROUND. BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES HARD AND DROPS ABOUT 50%. STOPPING DISTANCE DRAMATICALLY INCREASED. PEDAL PULSATES UNDER MY FOOT. TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF. HILL ASSIST TURNED OFF. THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR SINCE MID NOVEMBER, 2018. THE DEFECTIVE PART IS THE TONE RING, WHICH IS PART OF THE WHEEL BEARING AND IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR. FORD WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO PROBLEM AT ALL WITH THE TONE RING. THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IS THE HARNESS THAT THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR PLUGS INTO ON THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL. THE YELLOW WIRE HAS A HOLE IN IT AND CORRODES. FORD IS ALSO AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
2016 FORD FUSION - PULLED INTO PARKING SPOT AT WORK, SWITCHED THE GEAR INTO PARK, LOCKED AND EXITED MY CAR. SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL IN REVERSE. I HAD TO QUICKLY UNLOCK AND GET BACK IN THE CAR TO PULL THE PARKING BREAK - THE GEAR DISPLAY ON THE DASH PANEL INDICATED NEUTRAL, BUT THE GEAR SHIFT WAS STUCK IN PARK. THE CAR COULD NOT BE MOVED, IT WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP - REPAIR PERFORMED 'TRANS STUCK IN PARK, BUT CAR IS ACTUALLY IN NEUTRAL, FOUND SHIFT CABLE OFF OF TRANSMISSION REPLACE SHIFT CABLE BUSHING, REATTACH SHIFT CABLE, TEST OK." CHARGED ME $99.58 PULLED PURCHASE PAPERWORK MY CAR WAS ASSEMBLED IN FLAT ROCK - MATCHES RECALL, I HAVE NOT MOVED. WHERE IS MY RECALL LETTER? MY DEALERSHIP WON'T HONOR/REIMBURSE FOR THE REPAIR WITHOUT THE RECALL LETTER. MILEAGE WAS AT 78,348.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE DEFLATED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE DUE TO THE SWOLLEN LUG NUT CAUSED BY MOISTURE OVER TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GERMAIN HONDA OF DUBLIN (614-764-9449, LOCATED AT 6715 SAWMILL RD, DUBLIN, OH 43017) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN USED A MORE SOPHISTICATED PLIER TO REMOVE THE LUG NUT AND REPLACE THE TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000. THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES TO THE SHIFTER CABLE BROKE FROM THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH MADE MY CAR APPEAR TO BE IN PARK, HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT. I WAS PUMPING GAS, WHEN I WAS DONE, I TURNED MY CAR ON AND WENT TO TAKE IT OUT OF PARK AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE, SHOWING MY CAR WAS IN ANOTHER GEAR, WHICH CAUSED MY CAR TO ROLL FORWARD ALMOST SLAMMING INTO THE GAS STATION. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT APPLIED UNTIL AFTER THIS HAPPENED. THIS LEFT US STRANDED FOR OVER 8 HOURS IN SNOW, MY CAR WAS NOT TOWED UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. IT TOOK UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING FOR FORD TO HELP WITH TOWING, I WAS TOLD I WAS OUT OF LUCK BASICALLY BECAUSE OF OTHER WRECKS. I THEN HAD A TOWING BILL TO PAY FOR. I ALSO HAVE A BILL FOR REPAIRS THAT I HAVE REFUSED TO PAY BECAUSE OF THE RECALL (THEY SAID MY CAR WAS NOT ON THE LIST, ONE MECHANIC SAYS HE KNOWS MINE SHOULD BE BECAUSE THIS IS A HUGE KNOWN ISSUE). I CALLED THE HOTLINE AND DID NOT GET ANYWHERE, THEY WERE RUDE. I WAS ADVISED IF THIS HIT THE RECALL LIST, THEN I WOULD BE REIMBURSED. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO THIS AND STILL, WHEN YOU TOUCH THE BRAKES, THERE IS A NOISE IN THE SHIFTER, WHICH HAS BEEN REPAIRED A FEW TIMES, THEN I'M TOLD THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX FOR IT, IT WILL KEEP DOING THIS AFTER EVERY REPAIR. WHY? I FEEL UNSAFE FOR MY CHILDREN AND MYSELF IN THIS CAR, GRANTED I LOVE THE FORD FUSION COMFORT AND HOW IT RIDES SMOOTH. NOT ONLY HAVE I HAD THESE ISSUES, I'VE PUT 3 SETS OF BRAND NEW TIRES ON IT, YET EVERY TIME I'M TOLD THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH THE ALIGNMENT OR ANYTHING. I SHOULD NOT NEED NEW TIRES AFTER 10,000 MILES! IF I COULD TRADE THIS IN, I WOULD BECAUSE IT'S PUT ME IN DEBT WITH 3 SETS OF TIRES AND TOWINGS.
FORD FUSION ENERGI, DID ITS LOW POWERED STATE AGAIN, THIS TIME ON THE FREE WAY, DROPPING RAPIDLY FROM 75MPH TO 22MPH AND BARELY ABLE TO MAINTAIN THAT SPEED. THE DISPLAY SHOWED THE SAFETY FEATURES BECOMING DEACTIVATED. SOMETHING NEW THOUGH, THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AND THE CONSOLE DIMMED AND WAS BARELY READABLE, I TURNED ON MY HAZARDS AND I HOPE THEY WHERE WORKING, EITHER WAY I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO AVOID A REAR END COLLISION AND GOT THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. THIS ABOUT 7TH TIME FORD WILL WORK ON THE VEHICLE, AND ANOTHER WEEK OR MORE WITHOUT A VEHICLE, WAITING FOR THE NEXT AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT. THESE FUSIONS ARE BECOMING THE NEW FORD PINTO. I REALLY HOPE THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE DON'T HAVE TO DIE, BEFORE FORD IS FORCED TO RECALL THESE DEATH TRAPS.
MY VEHICLE WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR AND AFTER LOOK AT WHY THIS HAPPENING FOUND THAT THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE TRANMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION DEGRADED CAUSING THIS ISSUE. ALSO, WHILE THE KEY WAS OUT OF THE IGNITION MY CAR STILL CAN MOVE WHEN IT INDICATE ON THE SHIFTER ITS IN PARK. I HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO KEEP THE CAR FOR NOT MOVING.
CAR DIES WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET OR EXITING FREEWAY. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DRIVING THE FORD FUSION TITANIUM ON CITY STREETS RESULTS IN THE CAR DYING WHILE IN MOTION AS THE SPEED SLOWS, FOR INSTANCE TO MAKE A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN ONTO ANOTHER STREET. WHEN THE CAR DIES I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, A PARKING LOT, OR LEFT TURN LANE WHERE I HAVE TO COMPLETELY TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TRY RESTARTING. JUST PRIOR TO THE CAR DYING A VIBRATING OR REVVING NOISE CAN BE HEARD FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOOR/GAS TANK DOOR AREA. THIS SEEMS TO OCCUR AT 55 MPH OR LOWER, AND ESPECIALLY WHILE DECELERATING AT TURNS, RED LIGHTS, OR EXITING A FREEWAY. I HAVE MANAGED TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER CARS BUT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE OCCURRENCE WAS ABOUT ONCE EVERY 4 MONTHS UNTIL LATELY THE FREQUENCY INCREASED TO MONTHLY. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE THIS OCCURRENCE ON 11/4/2018 AS THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS. THE GAS TANK REVVING NOISE SERVES AS ABOUT A 3 SECOND WARNING, WHICH ALLOWED ME TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTIONS. I'M TAKING IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP.
I STILL HAVEN'T HAD MY AIR BAG REPLACED BY OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER. I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION EARLIER THIS YEAR THAT IT WOULD BE REPLACED BEFORE THE YEAR IS UP. SO FAR, I HAVE HEARD NOTHING.
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR STARTED TO HAVE NO ELECTRICITY THIS MORNING AND COULDN'T START. WHEN I CHARGED, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO USE.SUDDENLY NO ELECTRICITY, I DONT KNOW WHAT THE SITUATION IS.
CAR REPEATEDLY DIES AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 4-10 MILES AFTER FIRST STARTING. HAS DIED ON ME WHILE AT BUSY INTERSECTION (MIDDLE OF IT!) AND HAS DIED BY TRAIN TRACKS! ALSO DIED WHILE MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE, HAS ALSO DIED WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE. HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION. FORD SAYS ITS PURGE VALVE SYSTEM ($700) SAME ISSUE WITH RECALL ON 2012-2018 FORD FOCUS, BUT FORD WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT HAS HAPPENED TO MANY FORD OWNERS!

THE CONTACT PLANNED ON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO MATTHEWS FORD (175 E MAIN ST, NORWICH, NY 13815, (607) 334-3273) ON OCTOBER 27, 2018 FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT DID NOT OFFER TO PAY FOR A RENTAL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,390.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE MAIN SCREEN IN THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD TURNED OFF AND HAD THE MESSAGE 'TURNING OFF SYSTEM TO SAVE BATTERY'. THIS WAS NOT AN ACCURATE PROJECTION BY THE CAR SYSTEM BEING THAT I JUST RECENTLY INSTALLED A BRAND NEW BATTERY A COUPLE OF DAYS PRIOR. AS THE CAR SYSTEM CONTINUED TO SHUT DOWN, THE ALERT OF 'SYSTEM CHARGING SERVICE NOW' SHOWED UP ON THE DASH. FOLLOWING THAT MESSAGE THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. SHORTLY THERE AFTER, THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN IN MY CAR. LIGHTS, STEERING, DASHBOARD, ELECTRONIC SEATS, DOORS, GEAR SHIFT, EVERYTHING! THIS ALL HAPPENED IN THE SPAN OF 1 MINUTE OR SO ON A HIGHWAY AT 11PM AT NIGHT. I ALMOST GOT INTO AN INESCAPABLE ACCCIDENT TRYING TO FIND SOMEWHERE TO GET THE CAR OFF THE HIGHWAY. SHORTLY THERE AFTER THE ENGINE ALSO CUT OFF DUE TO NOT GETTING ANY POWER FROM THE CAR SYSTEM. THIS IS VERY UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE THIS CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT.

THERE WERE NO INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT DROPPED THE CHARGER AND IT LANDED ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SEAT AND BURNED A HOLE IN THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEN GARFF FORD (597 E 1000 SOUTH, AMERICAN FORK, UT 84003), BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WHY THE CHARGER BECAME SO HOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
I PULLED INTO THE GAS STATION PARKING LOT, AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK. I BEGAN TO GET OUT OF MY CAR AND IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. I GOT BACK IN AND FOUND THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION. I COULD NOT GET IT IN THE PARK POSITION.

THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN) ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO UFTRING FORD (500 FAIRLANE DRIVE, EAST PEORIA, ILLINOIS 61611, (888) 284-1397) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CHIP IN THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000.
WHEN I PUT GAS IN THE CAR, IT IS VERY HARD TO START. I HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS AND THEN REV THE ENGINE TO GET IT TO STAY ON. IF I LEAVE IT IN PARK, WITHOUT REVING THE ENGINE, IT WILL STALL OUT. ONCE I GET IT INTO DRIVE AND START MOVING, THE PROBLEM SUBSIDES. THE ONLY OTHER TIME I NOTICE IT, IS IF I AM IDLING ON A HILL. AT THAT POINT, IT WILL STALL WITHOUT CONSTANT FEATHERING OF THE GAS PEDAL. THIS SEEMS TO BE CONSISTENT WITH THE CURRENT RECALL ON SOME OF THE 2016 FORD FUSIONS, BUT MY VIN DOESNT APPEAR ON THE RECALL.
CAR WILL SOUND LIKE SOMEONE IS REEVING THEIR ENGINE BEHIND ME BUT ITS THE CAR. THEN CAR WILL SHUT DOWN AS I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. EVERYTHING STILL WORKS BUT CAN NOT GET THE CAR TO MOVE. TRY TO HIT THE GAS PEDAL AND NOTHING HAPPENS. WENT TO ADVANCED AUTO AND THEY SAID IT WAS CODE P1450 THE GUY EXPLAINED IT TO ME AS THE FUEL VAPOR CANISTERS THE PURGE VALVES DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY RESULTING IN ABNORMAL PRESSURE CHANGES IN THE FUEL TANK.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,395.

THERE WAS AN ENGINE WARNING LIGHT THAT HAD FLASHED INTERMITTENTLY AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER YET BUT HENNESSY FORD LINCOLN ATLANTA (5675 PEACHTREE INDUSTRIAL BLVD, ATLANTA, GA 30341, 1-(770) 621-0200) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN AN UNKNOWN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM RECALL CAMPAIGN FROM THE MANUFACTURER HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE AS THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAD ISSUED 25 TSB ON ELECTRICAL AND 16 TSB ON THE ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RECALL OPEN FOR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE OTHER THAN THE CONTACT HAVING THE DEALER DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FORD) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2013-2014 FORD ESCAPE, AND 2013-2016 FORD FUSION VEHICLES, EQUIPPED WITH SIX- SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION MAY DEGRADE OVER TIME AND CAUSE THE BUSHING TO DETACH FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR BRAKING SYSTEM FAIL WITHOUT WARNING, THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE CAR IS USING THE "PARK" GEAR, THE FORD DEALER CLAIM THE ELECTRIC WIRE ARE EATEN BY THE RODENT AND CHARGE ME $420 FOR REPAIR, THE QUESTION I HAVE: 1. I HAVE 6 RODENT REPELLENT ULTRA SOUND DEVICE IN THE HOUSE AND 2 IN GARAGE, AND FOR THE LAST 20 YEAR I HAVE EVER SEEN A RODENT 2. IF RODENT CAN DO SUCH A CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE WHY THERE ISN'T ANY WARNING, IT SHOULD AT LEAST NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO BE DRIVEN THEN NO WAY TO STOP AFTERWARD. 3. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR MULTIPLE ALARMS SOUNDED AND THE DISPLAY SHOWED THE FOLLOWING ERRORS: STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED, SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, PRE-COLLISSION ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE, HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. THE CAR HAS 13514.1 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AT THE TIME OF THIS OCCURRENCE. THE CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 10 MILES EARLIER IN THE DAY BUT HAD BEEN PARKED WITH THE ENGINE OFF FOR NEARLY 8 HOURS. I DID NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE DIFFICULT, IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE, CHORE OF TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IT SEVERAL TIMES ATTEMPTING TO SEE IF THE FAULTS WOULD CLEAR ON THEIR OWN. NO LUCK.

ON 10/2/18 MY SHIFTER CABLE BROKE AND I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR. THE SHIFTER WAS MOVING BACK AND FORTH BUT WAS NOT GOING INTO ANY GEARS. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND I HAD TO PAY TO GET MY CAR TOWED. FORD DIAGNOSED MY CAR AND SAID IT WAS BUSHING IN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE MAY DEGRADE OVER TIME. THIS MAY CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO NOT BE ABLE TO FULLY MOVE THE TRANSMISSION TO THE SELECTED GEAR POSITION. I ARGUED WITH DEALERSHIP AND FORD TO TRY AND GET THE, TO COVER REPAIR BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT A RECALL ISSUE. I HAD TO PAY $431.77 CASH ON 10/6/18 TO GET SHIFTER CABLE REPLACED. ON 5/13/19, FORD FINALLY ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS.
ON MONDAY OCTOBER 1,2018 AT 8 AM I DROVE MY KIDS TO SCHOOL, WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE, AND GAS STATION. MY CAR DROVE FINE. THEY DISCOUNTED THE PRICE TO $510 AND THREW IN A FREE OIL CHANGE AND DETAILING WHICH WAS AWESOME. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER 2016 FORD FUSIONS AND WONDERED WHY FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE OR AT LEAST INFORM OWNERS TO BEWARE. . OVER TIME, THIS PART DETERIORATED AND BROKE INTO LITTLE PIECES AND FELL OUT OF PLACE. WITHOUT IT IN PLACE, THE STOPLIGHT SWITCH DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY ON. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS UNKNOWN WHEN THIS OCCURRED, HOWEVER IT WAS NOTICED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. FURTHER YET, FORD DOES NOT OFFER THIS BUMPER AS A SPARE PART, NOR DO THEY EVEN KNOW THE PART NUMBER, FORCING ME TO RETROFIT THE VEHICLE WITH AN AFTERMARKET PART.
