I HAVE JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED MY 2016 FORD FUSION AWD VEHICLE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON. I HAD A PROFESSIONAL SCANNER RUN THE CODE AND IT HAS TO DO WITH FAULTY EMISSION SENSORS NEAR THE GAS TANK, WHICH I HAVE HEARD ARE COMMON FOR THESE VEHICLES. NO RECALL MEANS I'M OUT $300 AFTER JUST PURCHASING A BRAND NEW "USED" VEHICLE.
VEHICLE WAS REFLECTING IN PARK ON THE SHIFTER, BUT THE CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE AND ROLLING WHILE IN A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU. THE SHIFTER GOT LOCKED EVENTUALLY IN PARK BUT CAR WAS STILL MOVING. HAD IT TOWED AND THEN CAR WOULDN'T START DUE TO SHIFTER BEING LOCKED. BUSHINGS AROUND TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WERE BROKEN. ON SECOND OCCASSION WENT TO START CAR AND WOULD NOT START DUE TO BUSHINGS ON TRANSMISSION BEING BROKEN. MANUFACTURER RECALL 18S20 NHTSA RECALL # 18V471. FORD HAS REFUSED TO REIMBURSE ME OR FIX THIS ISSUE. IT HAS COST OVER $300 IN UNPLANNED EXPENSES AS WELL AS SAFETY ISSUES. CAN PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION UPON REQUEST
PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND IT PROCEEDED TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE. HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BREAK TO STOP CAR FROM MOVING. AFTER THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND IT WAS TOWED TO DEALER. IT SHOULD BE NOTED MY CAR WAS AT THE DEALER FOR MONTHS FOR THE SAME CAR AND THEY STATED THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED.
WITHIN THE PAST 4 MONTHS, AS OF TODAY, APRIL 08,2019, I HAVE FOUND ALL MY WINDOWS DOWN ON MY VEHICLE WHEN PARKED. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE AT WORK, ONCE AT HOME, AND ONCE AT SHOPPING MALL. ON TODAY, APRIL 08,2019 I ENTERED WORK AT 5:45AM(LIGHT RAIN). AT 9:30AM, I EXITED MY WORK AREA TO GO TO ANOTHER BUILDING, AND FOUND ALL FOUR(4)OF MY WINDOWS DOWN AND IT WAS POURING DOWN RAINING. MY VEHICLE WAS ALSO FULL OF HOUSEHOLD ITEMS PURCHASED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED BY ANY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS CAR. STEERING WILL STOP WORKING.
WHEN I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, INCLUDING A TIRE ROTATION, THE MECHANICS HAD TO USE A "RIPPER" TO TAKE ALL BUT THREE OF MY LUG NUTS OFF. APPARENTLY, FORD'S LUG NUTS ARE A TWO METAL DESIGN THAT IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO SWELLING OVER PERIODS OF USE. AFTER DOING SOME HOMEWORK I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A PERVASIVE ISSUE. IT HAS BEEN PRESENTED TO THE COURTS AND THE NHTSA, YET IT WASN'T CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE. HMMM, REALLY? SO, IF SOMEONE GOT A FLAT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE AND NEEDED TO CHANGE THEIR TIRE, BUT COULDN'T REMOVE THE LUG NUTS, THAT'S NOT A SAFETY CONCERN? AS WIDESPREAD AS THIS ISSUE IS, WOULDN'T IT BE PRUDENT TO RETHINK THIS? I DON'T HAVE PICTURES OF MY OLD LUG NUTS, THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THEM, BUT I DO HAVE A RECEIPT FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THEM. I HOPE THIS PROBLEM IS REMEDIED SOON. I CERTAINLY HOPE THERE HASN'T BEEN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS AND I HOPE THERE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
RECEIVE ERROR "TEMPORARILY LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE CLIMATE SYSTEM". UNABLE TO OPERATE THE CLIMATE SYSTEM, WINDOWS, DOOR LOCKS AND RADIO VOLUME. THIS OCCURS FREQUENTLY AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN, ESPECIALLY IN HOT WEATHER UNABLE TO OPERATE WINDOWS OR AC.
IN MAY OF 2017 MY TRANSMISSION WAS CAUSING MY CAR TO JERK FORWARD SEVERELY WHEN EVER I TRIED TO PUT ON THE GAS. A FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED/FIXED MY TRANSMISSION WHICH WAS UNDER WARRANTEE AT THE TIME. NOW, LESS THEN 2 YEARS LATER AND 22,000 MILES LATER THE EXACT SAME THING IS HAPPENING AGAIN. I BROUGHT IT TO A MACHINIC WHO SAID TO FIX IT, THEY WOULD HAVE TO BASICALLY DO THE EXACT SAME THING THE FORD DEALERSHIP DID TO FIX IT BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION IS SHOT! NOW I AM JUST OUT OF WARRANTEE I HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL. IT WAS BAD ENOUGH NEEDING A NEW TRANSMISSION JUST A YEAR AFTER GETTING THE CAR, BUT THEN NEEDING ANOTHER NEW TRANSMISSION LESS THEN 2 YEARS LATER IS NOT RIGHT? FORD HAD BEEN NO HELP!
I'M LOSING HAS VERY FAST
TWO DAYS AFTER GETTING GAS MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT STAYED ON FOR ABOUT A WEE AND TURNED OFF. THIS KEPT HAPPENING EVERYTIME I GOT GAS S I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD SOMETIMES THE CAP STICKS AND IT'S A COMMON THING THAT DOESNT REQUIRE ANY REPAIRS AND THEY RESET IT. THIS HAPPENED FOR ALMOST A YEAR. I TOOK IT BACK AND THIS TIME THEY CLAIM I NEEDED A NEW VAPOR MANAGEMENT VALVE. OF COURSE MY CAR IS LESS THAN 36,000 MILES BUT THE 3 YEARS ARE UP AS OF TWO MONTHS AGO. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE I HAD THE PROBLEM BEFORE THE 3 YEARS. WHEN I GET TO THE DEALERSHIP TO PICK UP MY CAR THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I CALL FORD BACK AND ASK THEM TO SEND AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY.
ON GOING! DEALERSHIP HERE IN FLORIDA STATES OKAY? STEARING IS A PROBLEMATIC , ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS NEED TO BE CHECKED, TURNING NEEDS TO CHECKED. THEY HAVE MY CAR LISTED AS A HYBRID? IT IS NOT. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS
2016 FORD FUSION ES STALLS OUT DURING DRIVING DOES NOT MATTER IF VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION STALLS HAVE OCCURRED IN PARKING LOTS HIGHWAYS AND ROADS THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT RANDOM TIMES YOU MUST STOP VEHICLE PUT IN PARK AND RESTART
HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HOME AND THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. HE BARLEY MISSED HITTING A CAR. WAS ABLE TO PUT ALL HIS MIGHT TO STOP THE CAR. TOOK IT IN AND IT'S A BAD BRAKE BOOSTER. HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR IN FOR MULTIPLE ISSUES. FORD WILL ALLOW THEIR CONSUMERS TO DIE BEFORE DOING ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM.. TAKING ALL NEW SEDANS OFF PRODUCTION DOESN'T FIX THE CARS ALREADY ON THE ROAD! MY HUSBAND COULD HAVE DIED.. HE IS STILL VERY SHOOK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AND DIDN'T THINK HE WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO STOP.
ON ONE OCCASION, THE DRIVER PUT THE CAR IN PARK BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY IN REVERSE. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED, MY DAUGHTER WAS IN A MCDONALD'S DRIVE THROUGH AND THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE BUT SWITCHED OVER TO REVERSE.
AFTER TURNING THE CAR ON AND STARTING TO DRIVE, THE CAR RANDOMLY WILL START TO LOSE POWER. THE CAR WILL THEN JUST STOP MOVING. THE CAR IGNITION WILL STILL BE IN THE ON POSITION AND IN DRIVE GEAR. IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME RANDOMLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY. IT SOMETIMES WILL HAVE CUT THE POWER OFF TO PRESERVE POWER AND THEN CUT OFF AFTER THE CAR STARTS TO SLOW DOWN.
The infotainment computer in the dashboard stopped working. When the car is turned on, the computer restarts itself several times before finally shutting down. This is a safety concern because the backup camera no longer functions.
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING DESPITE CAR ONLY BEING 2 YEARS OLD. IT HAS ALSO HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES. MUST REPLACE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION
ALL OFF A SUDDEN, IT WILL TAKE OFF THEN. I HAVE TO STOP AND RESET ALL THE SAFETY ISSUES
FORD FUSION RECALL: DRIVING ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE STORE AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH A WRENCH SYMBOL AND A NOTE ON MY DASH TO SEE MANUAL WHILE I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN I TO MY APARTMENT COMPLEX. I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND THEY STARTED IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, I TOOK IT TO FORD AFTER WHERE THEY SAID IT WAS COVERED AND TO BRING IT IN ON THE 6TH OF FEB TO HAVE IT FIX. BUT THEN WAS TOLD AFTER THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED. I ONLY HAD THE CAR 2 YEARS AND ITS PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM WHICH NOTHING IS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY THAT I'M PAYING FOR.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 60 MILES WARNING LIGHTS COME ON CHECK STEERING TRACTION . THEN THE STEERING WHEEL TIGHTENED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF ME DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. WHILE IN REVERSE, THE BACK-UP CAMERA WOULD NOT DISPLAY AN IMAGE. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN THE DRIVE POSITION, THE BACK-UP CAMERA ERRONEOUSLY DISPLAYED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER (KERRY FORD, 155 W. KEMPER RD, CINCINNATI, OH) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V362000 (POWER TRAIN) WAS RECEIVED, BUT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRONDES FORD(5545 SECOR RD, TOLEDO, OH) AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE WAS REPAIR WITH THE RECALLED PART, BUT THE FAILURE EVENTUALLY RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE. THE CABLE BUSHING DETACHED WHILE DRIVING. CAUSING THE CAR TO REVERSE EVEN THOU THE SELECTED GEAR WAS DRIVE.
VEHICLE STARTED REVERSING WHILE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN DRIVE POSITION. PUT CAR BACK INTO PARK, THEN BACK INTO DRIVE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE. TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL WHILE IN PARK ON FLAT LEVEL GROUND. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND WAS ESTIMATED $429 FOR REPAIR OF SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING. HOWEVER I WAS INFORMED MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BECAUSE OF THE MANUFACTURE DATE OF THE VEHICLE. THE IDENTICAL RECALL IS 18S20. PLEASE INVESTIGATE OTHER DATE MADE VEHICLES FOR 2016 FORD FUSION. *TR

THE GEAR SHIFTER DISPLAYED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL ALTHOUGH THE ACTUAL SHIFTER WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO WALNUT CREEK FORD (1800 N., MAIN ST., WALNUT CREEK, CA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFT CONTROL CABLE BUSHING MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
WHILE ON A HILL I CAME TO A STOP AND PUT MY CAR INTO THE PARK POSITION. MY CAR STRATED TO ROLL DOWN HILL AFTER I PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY OR MOVE THE SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I HAD TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BREAK TO STOP THE CAR FROM ROLLING. I HAD TO CALL FOR A TOW AND THE AFTER MY MECHANIC LOOKED FOR THE PROBLEM HE FOUND THAT THE SHIFT LINKAGE BUSHING WAS MISSING AND THE CABLE HAD DISENGAGED. AFTER CALLING THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY THEY SAID THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM (RECALL # 18S20) BUT MY CAR IS NOT ON THE LIST FOR REPAIR. THE RECALL IS FOR 2013-2016 FORD FUSION SE WHICH MY CAR IS IN THIS GROUP.
SHIFTER CABLE BUSHINGS BROKE/ I WAS GOING TO START. I WAS INDICATED THE TRANSMISSION WAS ON REVERSE. BUT IT WAS ON PARK ON THE DISPLAY.
WHEN FILLING GAS TANK IT SEEMS TO HAVE AIR IN THE TANK. SOMETIMES AFTER FILLING THE CAR WON'T START FOR A COUPLE MINUTES AND WHEN IT DOES, IT SPUTTERS LIKE IT WILL CUT OFF, BUT AFTER YOU GET IT RUNNING IT'S OKAY. ALSO, YOU CAN NEVER GET THE SAME FULL TANK DISTANCE, IT WILL VARY EACH FILL UP WITH THE SAME FUEL ECONOMY WITH EACH FILL UP.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost power to the radio, windows, and power steering. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who checked the wiring harness and was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The canister purge valve in this vehicle repeatedly goes bad. Since buying the vehicle in 2018, the purge valve went bad in 2019, twice in 2020 and last (although I’m sure it will happen again) 2024. It throws the check engine light on and will just about die everytime putting gas into the car or when stopped for random periods of time. The vehicle uses more gas and you can literally smell the fumes escaping from the flapping gas tank lid. The smell is awful. I’ve reported this problem to Ford themselves since the first issue due to their being multiple people online with the same issue with this vehicle. I thought the purpose of “eco friendly” meant to not release harmful gases from the vehicle. Ford has zero cares of this issue. The odor is so strong which leaks inside the vehicle. It’s made my grand kids sick on 2 occasions. Why this isn’t a recall yet is beyond me. The repair cost each time has been a little over $500. I have ALL receipts of repairs. Does products have been placed on this vehicle. Although now I’m second guessing my choice of the ford part and maybe should have went with an after market part. Because clearly Ford isn’t concerned about the problem and fail to fix the canister purge valve so it isn’t releasing harmful gases into our atmosphere.
CAR PUT IN PARK BUT STAYED IN DRIVE.I HAD TO PUT CAR PARKING BRAKE ON TO KEEP CAR FROM ROLLING.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, SUDDENLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON ALONG WITH SUDDEN LOSE OF ENGINE POWER. THE CAR ENTER SOME KIND OF SAFE MODE THAT CAN ONLY DRIVE UNDER 25 MPH. STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY HEAVY. IT RETURNED TO NORMAL AFTER SEVERAL RESTART. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON. WENT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY. THEY TOLD ME IT IS CAUSED BY A FAULTY SENSOR OF THE THROTTLE BODY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MALL OF GEORGIA FORD (4525 NELSON BROGDON BLVD HWY 20, BUFORD, GA) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,500. *BF. CONSUMER STATED VEHCILE WOULD SOMETMES STALL GOING 20MPH THIS HAS OCCURED AT LEAST 12 TIMES FROM JAN- MAR. IT OCCURS WHEN CONSUMER GETS IN THE VEHICLE AND BEGINS TO PULL OUT. IT IS GETTING HARDER TO CRANK AND SLOWER DELAY. CONSUMER TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AN BUT WAS NOT GIVEN DOCUMENTATION FOR SERVICE PERFORMED ON 4/4/19. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER.*JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SAMES FORD CORPUS CHRISTI (4721 AYERS ST, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX 78415, (888) 361-7675), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V167000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
I JUST GOT HOME PULLED IN MY DRIVEWAY. PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND REALEASED THE BRAKE. THE CAR STARTED MOVING FORWARD WHILE APPEARING TO BE IN PARK. I LOOKED AT GEARS AND CAR WAS IN SHIFT EVEN THOUGH I PUT IT IN PARK. THEN SHIFTER WAS STUCK AND WOULDN'T LET ME MOVE IT. SO I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF. THEN I RELEASED THE BRAKE AND IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR S EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. I HAD A TOW TRUCK COME TO PICK IT UP TO TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP, HE LOOKED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE GEAR BUSHING BROKE. HE DID SOMETHING MANUALLY SO HE WAS ABLE TO REVERSE THE CAR AND PULL IT ON THE TOW TRUCK. I SAW ONLINE THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS EXACT THING, BUT MY CAR WASN'T ON THE RECALL WHEN IT SHOULD BE. WHAT IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND IT BROKE. VERY DANGEROUS.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE SHOULDER AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE SHOULDER AND NECK. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP AND WAITING TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
VEHICLE SHIFTS HARD AND SLIPS WHEN SHIFTING INTO 2ND AND 3RD GEARS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS COLD
WHEN I FIRST RECEIVED MY CAR, A FEW WEEKS LATER I TRIED TO STOP MY CAR AT A UPCOMING TRAFFIC LIGHT AND IT FAILED TO STOP WHICH CAUSED A 3 CAR COLLISION. I TOOK IT TO FORD AND HAD IT SERVICED WITH A GOOD BIT OF DAMAGE AND ASKED THAT THEY PLEASE LOOK AT BRAKES BECAUSE IT DIDN'T STOP CORRECTLY. WHEN I RECEIVED CAR BACK ASSUMED THEY CHECKED BRAKES AND IT WAS OK. GOT INTO A SPIN OUT ON THE HIGHWAY AT ANOTHER TIME WHEN I TRIED TO BREAK MY CAR. WENT TO THE HOSPITAL WAS PREGNANT AND HURT MY BACK. THEN, KEPT HEARING A HORRIBLE NOISE COMING FROM MY BREAKS FOR A WHILE, KEPT PUTTING BRAKE FLUID IN THINKING THAT WAS IT. ONE DAY DECIDED TO LOOK AT MY WHEELS AND THE RIMS ON BOTH MY BACK TIRES ARE BLACK. I ASSUMED IT WAS FROM BREAK DUST AND RUBBING. AT THIS POINT WHEN I STOP MY CAR THE CAR DOESN'T STOP IMMEDIATELY. IN ORDER TO STOP THE CAR YOU HAVE TO SLAM THE PEDAL TO THE GROUND AND BEGIN STOPPING EARLY, AND BE VERY CAREFUL WHILE DRIVING. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND BOUGHT THE PARTS. THE MECHNIC BEGAN DOING THE WORK AND CAME TO ME AND SAID WHAT I BELIEVE IS THE ROTOR IS WORN COMPLETELY OFF, THERE IS PARTS MISSING ON THE BRAKE AND IT WAS PUT TOGETHER INCORRECTLY. I AM HIGHLY PISSED AS I AM FINANCING THIS CAR, HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT IN MONTHS NOW BECAUSE IT'S UNDRIVABLE. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND ALL BECAUSE IT WASN'T PUT TOGETHER CORRECTLY, MORE CHARGES ARE BEING SLAPPED ON BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE. HAVE GOT IN TO ACCIDENTS, BEEN PUT IN DANGER AND HAVE BEEN ASKING ABOUT MY BRAKES SINCE I GOT MY CAR. I'M PAYING FOR A CAR I CAN'T DRIVE. I FOUND A FUEL LEAK ON MY 2016 FORD FUSION TITANIUM ECOBOOST. ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO WHEN I FIRST NOTICE THE PROBLEM, A SMELL OF FUEL ON THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND AS YOU GO FURTHER TO THE REAR,THE SMELL OF FUEL GETS STRONGER, I WENT TO THE GROUND TO CHECK FOR ANY SIGN OF LEAKS BUT I NEVER FOUND ANY, EXCEPT FOR THE STRONG SCENT OF FUEL. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A FUEL THATS COMING FROM THE FUEL REFILL CAP AND DIDNT PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO IT. NOT UNTIL AFTER COMING BACK FROM WORK,ABOUT 5 MONTHS LATER AND WENT TO TEND FOR MY VEHICLE THAT WERE PARKED IN OUR DRIVE WAY FOR 5 MONTHS, AS I SAT DOWN ON THE DRIVER SEAT AND START THE ENGINE, I NOTICE THE GAS ON THE TANK, IT WAS 1/4 LEFT BUT PRIOR FROM LEAVING THE VEHICLE AT THE DRIVE WAY, I REFUEL IT AND LEFT IT WITH A FULL TANK, SO I WENT AROUND MY VEHICLE TO INVESTIGATE THE UNDER CARRIAGE OF THE CAR AND ENDED UP SEEING A STAIN OF FUEL LEAK ON THE GROUND AND AS I WENT DEEP DOWN UNDER THE VEHICLE WERE THE TANK IS LOCATED, I START TO SEE A TRACE OF FUEL DRIPPING DOWN FROM THE GAS TANK AND TO THE TANK SHIELD OR TANK COVER?! I CANT NAMED THE PLATE THAT HOLDS THE FUEL TANK AND AS I TRACE IT FURTHER TO THE GAS TANK I SAW WERE THE LEAK IS COMING FROM AND ITS COMING FROM WERE THE REFILL TUBE WAS INSTALLED..! I START TO CHECK THE WEB FOR ANY CLUES ON WHAT COULD CAUSE IT FROM GETTING A CRACK ON THE TANK AND FOUND THAT FORD FUSIONS HAD RECALLS FOR THE SAME CAR, SAME BRAND, SAME YEAR BUT DIFFERENT MANUFACTURED MONTH DATE BUT SAME ON THE MANUFACTURED YEAR WICH IS 2015 AND STILL FORD MOTOR COMPANY DENIES A FACTORY DEFFECT AND WONT GRANT ME A RECALL THAT WERE MADE AT THE SAME YEAR, BRAND,MODEL BUT DIFFERENT MANUFACTURED MONTH.. I HOPE THAT SOMEONE COULD ADRESS THIS ISSUE AND GET THE PROBLEM FIXED SPECIALLY WHEN A PROBLEM INVOLVES A FUEL, IT IS VERY SERIOUS NOT ONLY FOR SAFETY OF THE MOTORIST BUT TO ENDANGER OUR ECOSYSTEM AS WELL...

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
THE SHIFT BUSING CABLE BROKE WHILE I WAS IN REVERSE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. WHEN I WENT TO PUT IT IN DRIVE NOTHING WOULD WORK. THE CAR WOULD NOT EVEN GO INTO NEUTRAL. THERE ARE LOTS OF RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE FOR THIS SPECIFIC CAR , BUT MY VIN DOES NOT COME UP AS ONE OF THEM. I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF TWO YOUNG CHILDREN. CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX THIS. THIS IS A FORD ISSUE THAT FORD NEEDS TO PAY FOR.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN THE RAIN AND HIT A SMALL PUDDLE. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS THE STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE BUT THOUGHT THIS ISSUE WAS FIXED AS IT HAS NOT HAPPENED IN SOME TIME.
OUR BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON SPONTANEOUSLY FOR SEVERAL SECONDS WHILE CAR SAT IDLE WITH PARKING BRAKE OFF (MY SPOUSE WAS IN THE CAR AND SAW THIS HAPPEN). WE TURNED THE PARKING BRAKE ON AND OFF, BUT THE LIGHT REMAINED ON. IT WENT OFF AFTER ABOUT MINUTE BY ITSELF. WE TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER TO CHECK THAT ISSUE AND DO AN OIL CHANGE. THEY DID A "VEHICLE CHECK-UP" (WE HAVE THE PAPERWORK) AND SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM FOUND. THREE DAYS LATER THE BRAKES FAILED. I WAS DRIVING ON A SURFACE STREET, CROSSING STRAIGHT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WITH A GREEN LIGHT AT AROUND 10MPH (I AM GUESSING), AND WENT TO SLOW THE CAR BECAUSE TRAFFIC HAD SLOWED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT SOFT TO THE FLOOR, YET THE BRAKES BARELY HAD ANY FORCE (I AM GUESSING 10% STOPPING POWER). THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND A BEEP SOUNDED. I WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SLOW THE CAR TO A STOP. WE TOWED IT TO THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER. THEY, AGAIN, SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. THEY INDICATED THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM WARNING I HEARD, DESPITE THE FACT I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR THREE YEARS... I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. FURTHERMORE, MY SPOUSE SAW THE BRAKE LIGHT COME ON EARLIER. MOST IMPORTANT IS THE FACT THAT THE BRAKES FAILED. WE ALSO CALLED FORD HEADQUARTERS AND INFORMED THEM OF THE ISSUE. WE WERE TOLD THEY INVESTIGATED THIS AT THE SERVICE CENTER, AND FOUND NO PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL: MY IGNITION KEY SWITCH WAS BROKE MAKING IT TO WHERE I COULD REMOVE MY KEY WITH THE CAR RUNNING FINALLY ONE DAY MY IGNITION SWITCH LOCKED UP COSTING ME $1023.64 BECAUSE I WAS FORCED TO BUY 2 KEYS THROUGH FORD WHICH WHERE $250.00 AN PIECE THEN THE IGNITION PART BEING $30.00 THE REST WAS IN LABOR. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE PART AND ALSO TOLD THE DEALER WASN'T RESPONSIBLE FOR A PART THAT WAS BROKE WHEN THEY SOLD ME THE VEHICLE TO BEGIN WITH. THE VEHICLE THANKFULLY HAD THIS ISSUE WHEN I WAS AT A GAS STATION AND CAR NOT RUNNING THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE FOR ME AND THOSE AROUND ME IF I WAS GOING SOMEWHERE.

THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (SUN STATE FORD, 3535 WEST COLONIAL DR, ORLANDO, FL) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
DRIVER SEAT BELT WON'T RETRACT. MY DRIVER SEAT BELT HAS GOTTEN STUCK MULTIPLE TIMES. I'D PULL ON IT AND IT WOULDN'T RETRACT. IT WOULD JUST KEEP ROLLING OUT BUT NEVER ROLL BACK IN.
