Vehicle was traveling at 35 MPH. Vehicle shuddered and lost propulsion. Dash displayed following message: "Gear Selected will Engage at Low Speed" The "D" indicator on the shift knob was flashing. Vehicle was able to be pulled to side of road at very low speed. The following error messages were displayed in sequence: "Hill Start Assist Not Available" Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" "Service AdvanceTrac" Additionally, the following error light were iluminated: Check Engine Service Engine Soon Tranction Control Off 12 volt battery error Vehicle was turned off and restarted. The same error messages were displayed. Ford dealer was contacted to schedule a service visit. After a five minute wait, vehicle was able to start and drive, though performance was not as it had been. This morning, error lights remain on
Leaving a parking spot, after about 75 ft of travel, wrench and engine indicator light lit up along with scrolling warnings instructing service engine soon, service adv trac, hill start assist not available and pre collision assist not available. Vehicle abruptly slammed on the brakes and would not release. After several attempts to resolve the stopping issue, I was able to engage drive and the vehicle allowed me to travel at 34 mph max. There was no throttle and I had to ride the brakes in order to regulate the 34 mph limit. This a unsafe condition that Ford needs to resolve asap.
Was driving my Maverick in a 35mph area an it felt like it had a 'sloppy" transmission shift and immediately lost power. It did not shut down, but with the gas engine running it had a top speed around 35mph and extremely slow acceleration, I had to use my 4way flashers. When it went into electric mode (hybrid) it would accelerate without any pressure on the throttle. Very dangerous. Check engine light, transmission light (wrench), and front collusion light all came on. When I got home and turned it off, then on again, it seemed to run like normal again, although the check engine light is still on.
Driving on highway whent alerts all at once, including * Gear Selected Will Engage at Low Speed * Powertrain malfunction/reduced power * Pre-collision assist not available * Service engine soon warning * Service AdvanceTrac * Hill assist not available. Vehicle lost power on road and almost got hit.
Car was shuddering and vibrating on acceleration brought to dealership and was told I needed front axles with 16k on odometer . It took over a month to get parts and the dealership was kind enough to give me a car while Parts came in. These new parts are Likely also faulty as the vibrations are starting again under acceleration .The car now has 29k I will be bringing the car in again soon for other recalls and repair but this shouldn’t be happening . Heaven knows what other damage is being done . We need a part redesign and a recall asap . Thanks
While driving, the vehicle will suddenly flash a message about gear selection being unavailable until speed is reduced, followed by error messages about collision-assist disabled, ESC disabled, hill-start assist disabled, and service messages. Check engine light and service lights also come on. No response to throttle inputs, once vehicle decelerates to around 1-2 mph electronic parking brake is automatically applied leading to an abrupt stop. Parking brake can then be removed and vehicle put back into drive, however all drive mode selection is disabled and again there is no response to throttle inputs - truck will accelerate on its own up to above 30 mph (do not know top speed as all areas this occurred were 30mph or less, had to ride brakes to maintain speed limit as vehicle was attempting an uncontrolled/uncommanded acceleration). This has happened 3 times, and first occurrence happened after recalls 23E07, 23E09, and 23C41 were completed. Any attempts to clear faults or exit this limp mode condition fail unless the vehicle is turned off and allowed to sit for 5-10 minutes, at which point faults still remain in system however vehicle is no longer in limp mode with functionality now restored to previously disabled systems. Recorded faults from last occurrence on April 05 2024: SOBDMC DTC U1011:86-AF SOBDMC DTC U1028:00-26 PCM DTC U1010:00-AF OBDII DTC U1011-P ABS DTC U0401:00-2F ABS DTC U0131:00-2E ACM DTC U0255:00-28 IPMA DTC U0418:86-AF In my situation all 3 failure events occurred in a low-traffic, low-threat environment. 1st happened when turning onto a 30 mph road and accelerating in low traffic, able to safely pull over. 2nd happened when turning out of my driveway and began to accelerate, again able to safely pull over. 3rd happened when leaving spot in parking lot, able to safely pull over into another spot.
On the middle of the road when driving, of a sudden, powertrain malfunction, pre-collision not available message pop up and the service light, check engine light also started blinking on the dashboard. Gas pedal was unresponsive and the truck coasted, was not able to drive, and I was luckily able to merge over into the shoulder. Started the truck a few times and the issue persisted. Could move forward with the battery but still no input from the gas pedal. I towed the truck and is with the dealer. But i am really scared to drive it again. I was lucky to be on the slow speed zone road and was able to get out to the shoulder. However, I might have been hit and killed if it happens in the highways. Very scary moment. Ford should take some safety responsibility more carefully.
Brakes surge shortly after startup causing vehicle to lunge forward multiple times when at a stop. Has happened multiple times since getting vehicle new with less than 4500 miles. No warning lights has not been inspected by dealership but many other people have mentioned this happens to them frequently on Ford Maverick truck forums.
For no reason the truck would not start. No electric signal at all inside the truck either. Also the ignition and steering were locked. Called Ford to send out someone to jump the truck. It then started right away. Also took to the Ford dealer to have them check it out. They could find nothing wrong. I also have had a problem with the truck not starting after driving it and then parking it. The battery will not respond, igniton will not work, not able to shift it at all. Completely locked up. I have to try starting the truck another couple of times for the green READY to come on. This is concerning as I do not understand why the truck locks up. This has happened on at least four occasions since I purchased this truck at the end of June 2023
Factory Wireless charging station drops charging continuously and fails to charge phone.
I took it to the dealer for a recall with a PCM programming. After that, I drove it for a few days and the car came to a sudden halt on the freeway. Luckily the cars behind me did not hit me but it is a safety concern and the dealerships are not able to find the problem
Was driving down a highway at about 75 MPH when the vehicle automatically shifted to neutral and gave the following warnings on the dash: Gear selected will engage at low speed, Powertrain malfunction/reduced power, pre-collision assist is not available, service engine soon warning, service advancedtrac, hill assist not available. This is about a month after other recalls were ‘fixed’ and other ‘updates’ to software were installed.
On Friday, March 29, 2024 my Ford Maverick Hybrid lost power. When I started the engine it seemed sluggish but did reach about 40mph as I entered the I-215 freeway on ramp. Instrument panel warning lights did not appear until the problem began. By the time I came to the freeway itself the power was failing, and the truck slowed to only about 15-20mph. This was a highly dangerous position. I stayed on the shoulder and limped along with 4-way flashers on to the next exit, about one mile, where I was able to drive into a parking lot and call AAA road service. The truck was taken on a flatbed tow truck to the Ford dealer, about 15 miles away. It has been at the dealer now for a week. I was told the problem has to do with the computer that controls the drivetrain, and that Ford has not yet sent a solution to the dealer. I was also told that my truck is the fourth one with similar problems to arrive at the dealer, all in the same few days.
While driving at highway speed, for no reason, the vehicle signals AdvanceTrac error and signals that the vehicle cannot go into the gear selected. The vehicle immediately slows to a protective reduced power (limp mode) with a max of about 30 mph. My safety was at risk because of the sudden and unexpected deceleration from highway speed. The dash indicated that multiple alerts, most alarming was that Pre-Collision Assist is not available. After turning the vehicle off for a while it would become drivable. The dealer inspected the vehicle and stated they could not detect anything wrong. This has happened to me twice on March 20, 2024 and again on March 28, 2024. I had no problem whatsoever until the dealer reprogrammed a computer module associated with a recall. The programming change caused me to have issues when none existed prior. The dealer refused to restore the programming to the original configuration. I read of many that had the same circumstances with their Ford Mavericks on various internet community boards. This is very dangerous and Ford need to develop a fix quickly! I will make my vehicle available to government agency or Ford Motor Company teams for inspection or diagnostics.
When driving down the road at approximately 35-40mph, the accelerator pedal stopped working and a variety of warning messages and lights popped up on the dash. Some of those messages included "gear selected will engage at low speed", "powertrain system fault", and "pre-collision assist not available". Because the vehicle suddenly became undriveable, it rolled to a stop in the middle of the road. After coming to a stop, I put it in park (I may have restarted the vehicle, but am not entirely sure) and I was able to get the vehicle off the road, albeit with reduced power. Warning messages and lights (check engine, wrench) remained on the dashboard. There were no warning signs prior to this happening The vehicle was towed to a local Ford dealership and has been there for 13 days. I have not heard from them about identifying the problem. The uploaded photo is a screenshot on my phone of the warning messages through my FordPass app.
While driving up hill a check engine light and power train malfunction/ reduced power warning appeared. This caused my vehicle to be unable to accelerate and could have caused the vehicle that was behind me to collide with my vehicle. This is the second time this issue has happened and the dealer I have taken it to has been unable to figure out the issue. As far as I know only my dealer has inspected the vehicle and there were no other warning signs or messages before the malfunction happened.
Vehicle was going down the highway around 70 mph and suddenly warning message appeared on display that the select drive has been disengaged and the brake light ( lower right of instrument panel ! Red brake illuminated and the engine stop propelling engine and started to brake and slow down. Had to coast to the shoulder and car was not running and brakes were still applied even I was not applying the brakes . This is the second time it acquired. Second time was after Ford dealership had again done an ecm update and said the issue was resolved.
While driving the following warnings all came on: Gear Selected Will Engage at Low Speed Powertrain malfunction/reduced power Pre-collision assist not available Service engine soon warning Service AdvanceTrac Hill assist not available Vehicle came to a stop and parking brake automatically engaged. Driver could not control acceleration, gas pedal had no control, and vehicle moved on it's own under electric power. Vehicle would continue accelerating, and the only want to try to control speed was used the brake. Symptoms persisted for several drive cycles, until all the warning lights went off (except for checking engine light), and vehicle went back to normal. After several more drive cycles the check engine light went off. This is the third time this potential life threatening issue has occurred. Dealer has not been able to resolve the issue.
On [XXX] the headlights on my 23 ford maverick xlt ecoboost decided to completely go out and stop working for a couple seconds when driving past a cop which resulted in him pulling me over. Other issues i have had are the electronic parking brake failing after pressing it almost 8 times and the car lurching forward where it almost hit a wall if i didn't hit the brake again. The radio sometimes is completely unresponsive and needs a hard reset. At a stoplight the other day it was raining, once green the truck slammed into gear and the rpm jumped sky high to 5000 rpm, the traction control light didn't go off either and sounded like something metal was grinding and the hood completely flexed. All of this is recorded on dashcam which i have saved, reach out to me if you want the videos. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I took my 2023 Ford Maverick to the Dealership- Larry H Miller Lakewood CO. to get outstanding recalls address on [XXX]. Recalls handled were for Reprogram powertrain control module, turn signal outage detection failure, and software calibration update. I had no issues or concerns with my new vehicles performance or safety up to that point. [XXX] I was driving with my 2 children in the truck on the highway. Going 75 miles/hour uphill near the junction of [XXX] and [XXX] the truck suddenly started reporting errors on the digital display and dropped into limp mode leaving me stuck between 25-35 mph max speed on a busy highway causing a dangerous and unpredictable situation. I was able to exit the highway and navigate side roads to my dealership not far. They cleared the error and reset and were unable to replicate the issue at that time. On [XXX] the issue replicated. Heading south on [XXX] at 75 mph on the highway with my children in the truck, the power train module error once again appeared, check engine light came on and the digital display cycled through a series of errors the same as it had the prior time. Vehicle dropped to limp mode with a max speed of 35 on a busy highway. It once again caused a dangerous and hazardous experience trying to exit the highway at the next available opportunity. On the exit the truck shut off completely. Obstructing traffic. I was able to restart and navigate to a safe spot where I was able to contact Ford Roadside assist and get my truck towed to my same dealership once again. My truck has been at the dealership for 3 weeks now but on [XXX] they reported there were some new updates that might address the issue. They ran those updates and so far have been unable to replicate the problem. There is no solid confirmation from Ford that these updates will resolve the unsafe issue from happening again. We are uncertain at this point as to whether utilizing the vehicle will once again jeopardize our safety driving it. Driving at approximate 25 mph when three warnings came on simultaneously and the vehicle abruptly lost power and I was required to pull off the road. The vehicle could not go any faster than 15 mph. Fortunately I was not running on the highway when this occurred. The three warnings are as follows. 1. SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING 2. POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION / REDUCED POWER 3. PRE-COLLISION ASSIST NO AVAILABLE The vehicle was towed to dealer and is awaiting diagnostics.
The powertrain suddenly stopped and did not allow for acceleration. I was put in Risk because this was during a drive in the streets and it happened all of a sudden. I have seen this problem reported multiple times on Reddit.
- The truck attempts to accelerate by itself. No gas pedal pressure is required. - The brake still (thankfully) slows down and stops the truck, but if those brakes had failed, my spouse and children would have been in a wreck for sure. - No one has yet inspected the vehicle, but a service appointment has been requested. - MANY warning signals suddenly flashed: something about "hill climbing," something about AdvanceTrac, a collision warning. Those were all in the screen area. Also the following icons were lit: wrench, engine, slippery road, crash. These happened immediately before the incident. No prior warning. - We had recently (last week?) gotten some recall work done by Ford. - This is happening to other people, too. As soon as we were home, we found [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Upon exiting highway and getting on access road, vehicle malfunctioned and indicated to slow down and shift transmission into neutral. I lost speed and was given little if any power to accelerate. I arrived at a red light where I shifted into neutral and then park. I shifted back to drive where I was able to get very little acceleration. I turned right, put on my hazards, and looked to park as quickly as possible. Even though I was driving slow I was also unable to fully brake, which was unsettling. I found a parking lot just a little ways up the road where I parked and called for a tow truck. The truck is currently at a local Ford dealer.
I was driving around in city traffic and all of the sudden a message popped up on my screen that said "gear will engage at lower speed" and lost all power. I coasted into the nearest parking lot and it slammed me to a stop when i got slow enough and put the parking brake on. It then thew a bunch of codes saying service soon, something regarding advancetrak, and the check engine light came on. I then turned the car off and back on which made only the check engine light come on so i tried to at least make it home and i accelerated to 20mph and lost power again. threw the same codes at me too. At that point i got into another parking lot and it got towed to mcree. I believe what the cause was a ford guy came by the house a week ago to do a recall and reprogrammed the computer system. I read online that a guy had the recall done a week ago and the same thing happened to him. That same guy said that he brought it to his ford dealer and they are on their 3rd attempt at fix it as the problem keeps occurring. lets hope that doesn't happen..
Truck died in the middle of a busy road. I was able to pull over and let it sit. Started it up, got another couple miles down the road, and it died again. Full plethora of warning messages. Let it sit some more - it started and I was able to drive it home. Pulled the codes: U1011 and U1028.
Vehicle lost power while driving and has many warning notices. Pulled over but when I tried to drive again it accelerated on its own. Pulled over again and turned the vehicle off a few times and then it drive normally but with the check engine light on. Had happened 3 times. Took to Ford dealer 2 times and dealer could not reproduce the issue and gave it back to me.
Was traveling at around 60 mph and multiple lights and warnings came up on the dash “powertrain malfunction” and “service advancetrac”. Power was reduced to a limp mode and I was forced to pull over on the highway. This happened within a week of having multiple software recalls carried out by a ford mobile technician. I was able to reset the codes with an obd scanner and haven’t had an issue since but I have read about this happening to multiple people with the same hybrid vehicle after having these recalls done.
[XXX] car malfunctioned. First said that the gear was working incorrectly, then accelerator stopped working and Drive light on gear shifter started blinking. I pulled over to the shoulder and the brakes continued to work, and all the messages in my video came up. I started on cruise control going 78 then once I got to [XXX] my parking break came on. Once stopped I tried to go back into drive, which didn't work. The car would not go forward, almost as if it was attached to something. I turned the car on and off several times trying to get the parking break off. After I believe the third time I turned off the car, I left it off for about a full minute before turning it back on. The lights on the car went off except the check engine light, and the emergency brake light, though it finally let me turn the break off and switch into drive. I drove the last 4 minutes home without incident. This links to a video I took after I got onto the side of the highway showing what was happening on my display. The contact's son owned a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact was filing a complaint on behalf of his deceased son. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed and making a right-corner turn, the vehicle turned onto the left shoulder, which was covered in dirt and gravel, and skidded 164 feet into a large tree. The vehicle then rotated about 90–100 degrees and caught fire. The contact stated that the fire started in the engine compartment. The police and fire department arrived on the scene, and the fire department extinguished the fire. The contact stated that a state trooper informed him that the crash was caused by excessive speed. The contact's son remained inside the vehicle when it caught fire and died as a result of the fire; however, the contact's son was unable to be identified due to severe burns from the fire. Police and fire department reports were filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The insurance company was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. The contact stated the vehicle has been moved to a storage lot and held for inspection.
A couple of weeks after getting some software (or maybe firmware?) recalls done on my Ford Maverick my husband and I were driving down a semi-residential street. Suddenly the car went into limp mode and flashed a bunch of lights on the dash. So the car was limping along, but when my husband took his foot off the brake, the car started accelerating on its own. The car would brake when he hit the brakes but the second he lifted his foot off the brakes the car would start accelerating to about 40 mph. We were only a couple miles from our house, and we were able to get home safely, semi-careening our way there. Luckily there weren't any kids playing in the street (there often are) or any pedestrians crossing somewhere unexpectedly. The next day, my husband took the truck to the Ford dealership and told them about what had happened. He told them about how it went into limp mode and then accelerated by itself. They had the truck for basically the whole work day, and then brought it back. They said they couldn't recreate that failure so they cleared the codes, and told us to bring it in if it happened to them. When we got the documentation from the service it said that all they did was clear the codes. And they did NOT document ANYWHERE that we had reported that it had accelerated on its own. That night we found a Reddit thread that had lots of other people reporting the same failure and no satisfactory explanation was given, and, like us, none of them was certain that the issue had been "fixed." I'll upload the documentation they gave us, but again it's what they did NOT document that caused the most concern.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the "Service Advancetrac", "Service Engine Soon", "Power Train Malfunction" "Reduced Power", "Pre-collision Assist Not Available" and "Hill Assist Not available" messages were displayed, and the vehicle decelerated to approximately 28 MPH. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that he was able to continue driving; however, the vehicle failed to exceed 28 MPH. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving on another occasion. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Travelling around 60-70mph on the highway when a warning appeared saying there is a powertrain issue and engine issue. This forced my truck into low gear and I lost the ability to accelerate. This forced me to pull to the side of the highway with no acceleration capabilities which is highly dangerous. Multiple warning lights remained on the dashboard. This first event occured on Mar 10 2024, then happened AGAIN on April 12 2024.
Twice in one week the vehicle displayed a powertran error and reduced speed to 30mph. Both instances I was traveling on the highway and was able to exit safely
This is my second complaint on this vehicle for the same issue. While driving on the interstate my vehicle suddenly loses all power and shuts off. After the initial incident the vehicle was sent to a ford dealership. It was stated on repair order that: found code u1010: invalid internal control module monitoring data reveived from hybrid pcm Correction ford states to check for updates clear codes and retest, if no issues comes back communication network got crowded The vehicle was released to me and the same issue occurred approximately 45 minutes into my trip hard. This is very dangerous to be happening with no resolution from Ford.
VEHICLE PROPULSION SYSTEM (ENGINE AND HYBRID SYSTEM) QUIT WITHOUT WARNING ON A BUSY FREEWAY. WOULD NOT RESTART WHILE MOVING AND ATTEMPTING TO GO TO SAFE AREA. AFTER PARKING ON SIDE OF FREEWAY AND SHUTTING OFF ALL ENGINE RELATED SYSTEMS I WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND CONTINUE. SAFETY: NOT SAFE TO PARK IN MIDDLE OF FREEWAY. NO INDICATIONS OF PROBLEM ON ANY INSTRUMENTS. FUEL WAS AT ABOUT 5/8 FULL. TAKING CAR BACKTO CARMAX TOMORROW UNDER 30 DAY RETURN POLICY.
My 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid had a horrible issue[XXX] I had two recalls (23e09B and 23C41B) done last Friday [XXX] (and an oil change) at Huntington Beach Ford, CA. Yesterday [XXX] I was driving with my daughter to go get food, and while stopped at a light I got numerous error messages and the truck would not move. It was extremely dangerous as I was on the road with cars all around me. I don't remember all the messages but some were Pre-Collision Assist not available, Service AdvanceTrac soon, Hill Start Assist not available, Service Vehicle Soon and a Check Engine Light. Eventually I got the truck to move, but it started accelerating on its own via electric power. Luckily the brakes worked and I was able to pull aside to a side street, stop the vehicle, and have it towed to Huntington Beach Ford, CA. The check engine light is still on, and I believe one of the recalls that reprogrammed the ECU caused this huge safety issue. I have also opened up a case with Ford Corporate ([XXX]) as this is a huge safety issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
As I was driving along the highway the vehicle suddenly lost all propulsion. The electric shifter indicated the vehicle was no longer in drive and several errors/warnings appeared on the dash including “Pre-collision assist not available, Powertrain Malfunction/reduced power, and service engine soon”. No error messages were visible prior to this occurring. The vehicle can be made available upon request. It is currently at the dealer for the second time for this issue in the last 3 days. Both times the vehicle was rendered unusable in high speed/highway traffIc, putting both myself and fellow motorists at risk by forcing me to coast through a line of cars to reach the shoulder. Also, being on the side of the highway as cars fail to move over for the disabled vehicle poses its own risk to my safety as well as other motorists. The second incident occurred at approximately 7pm march 7th along the same highway and in identical fashion. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer, however, they identified and cleared the error codes stored by the vehicle. The service manager said he believed it was a result of a recent recall software update. The ford dealership that sold me the car has inspected the vehicle. My assessment is that this issue is related to a recent update performed by ford service regarding a recall/s. This vehicle was just serviced for its 30k maintenance and received the recall update/s and since then has broken down and been towed to the dealer twice.
Brakes grab unpredictably when slowing to a stop. When car has slowed from higher speeds down to less than 6 mph, the brakes suddenly grab, stopping the vehicle without warning. The degree of grabbing is never the same twice, happens almost every time I stop. It is especially bad after vehicle has been parked for a period of time, and is noticeably worse in moist conditions. I feel that this condition can cause a car behind me to possibly hit me. My FORD dealer has had service tech drive it and confirm this is occurring, but they have thus far been unable to apply a fix.
On occasion, at slow speeds, typically when coming to a slow stop (such as at a stop sign or light), the vehicle's brakes appear to "grab", car "shutters", feels as if car's brakes are locking or vehicle is about to turn off. I am the original owner of this vehicle, less than 7,000 miles, this problem has happened approximately 10 times. This problem could have resulted in a dangerous situation, the last time this happened someone was crossing in front of me at a crosswalk and I was not sure vehicle was going to stop.
While on the interstate, the vehicle suddenly shut off, leaving the instrument panel fully lit with every warning light. The vehicle was unresponsive and powerless, posing an extremely hazardous situation for myself, passengers and others on the road. After I was able to get into a safe location I attempted to start the vehicle again. It remained unresponsive for quite some time and the vehicle had to be towed to a dealership. A quick google search indicates this issue is becoming prevalent in the Ford Maverick.
I was driving on a freeway and my vehicle went into "Powertrain malfunction/Reduced power mode " and slowed me down from 65 -70 miles an hours to under 20 miles an hour. This almost cause a semi to slam into the back of my vehicle missing me by inches. The dealership is unable to recreate this issue but confirmed it did happen. Ford and the dealership have been giving me a run around with this since they can't diagnose the issue.
On two separate occasions (27 February & 16 March) my 2023 Ford Maverick XLT lost power while driving at highway speeds giving the following alerts: • Gear Selected Will Engage at Low Speed • Powertrain malfunction/reduced power • Pre-collision assist not available • Service engine soon warning • Service AdvanceTrac • Hill assist not available After the dealer couldn’t recreate the issue in February they released the truck back to me. As of today, 26 March, the dealer still has my car after the 16 March incident.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the wheels locked up as if the contact had depressed the brake pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated to approximately 20 MPH and he observed that the "Service Advancetrac" and the check engine warning lights had illuminated. The contact stated that other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle over and stopped. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle however, the "Service Advancetrac" and check engine lights remained illuminated. The contact stated that he drove the vehicle off the highway however, while driving the vehicle would not accelerate above 35 MPH. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was unintentionally accelerating while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle would accelerate and maintain 35 MPH. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that before the failure the dealer had updated an unknown software application on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,700.
Hello! I just had RECALLS completed on [XXX] and drove car on [XXX] at 75mph speed (in Texas) and within 1 hour of driving the vehicle began flashing same issue mentioned and brought speed down to MAX 35mph with NO FOOT on pedal. Almost got hit by 18 wheeler! Took it to dealer and 300 miles plus they drove and could not replicate issue. Gave vehicle back and it happened again [XXX] at 70mph ... Definitely believe it was the update that caused the issue. Extremely dangerous and SCARY too say the least to have the vehicle stop at such high speeds and have almost no control. While attempting to turn left at an intersection, my hybrid vehicle suddenly became unresponsive. The dashboard lit up with several warnings and it would only idle using its electric motor. It would then accelerate to top electric-only speed despite me not applying my foot to the accelerator. My safety and others was put at risk because I was turning left at a busy intersection. My local dealer (from whom I purchased the vehicle) cleared the errors and then drove several hundred miles without any errors and without replicating the problem.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the PCM was reset. The vehicle was repaired. While driving at unknown speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle began to shake. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer, and the contact was informed that the ABS was engaged. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to another dealer. The contact stated that the failure was related to TSB: 22-2493 (Service Brakes). The failure mileage was approximately 800.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while in the process of towing a trailer, he connected the trailer electrical cable to the vehicle; however, while towing the trailer and engaging the driver's side turn signal, the driver's side turn signal on the trailer was inoperable. An "Error" message was displayed. The contact stated that when he towed the trailer with other vehicles, the trailer driver's side and passenger's side turn signals were operable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V848000 (Exterior Lighting, Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. My Maverick had to have both CV joints replaced at 18,000 miles. Bad shaking vibration when accelerating. I told Byers Ford of vibration they said both CV joints needed replacement. I was told this is a common problem with Mavericks.
Driving on highway when all warning lights came on the dash, including the messages: AdvanceTrac Off Collision Assist Off Parking Break On Service System Soon. My brakes and accelerator stopped working, and the car immediately started slowing down. I started pulling over but didn't even make it all the way out of the lane. I changed gears, but could not go Forward, emergency brake was on but wouldn't let me turn it off. It did let me put my hazards on. I kept attempting to change gears, and eventually the emergency brake went off and I could shift into drive and pull out of the highway lane. The truck was towed to the shop, and they told me on the phone there was an open recall on the emergency brake. They have not figured out the problem or been able to replicate the issue.
