STOPPING FOR RED LIGHT AND BRAKES FAILED, BRAKE PAD TO FLOOR NO INJURIES. OUR MECHANIC DIAGNOSED BRAKE LINE WAS SEVERED FROM REAR RIGHT UPPER CONTROL ARM WELD FAILURE CAUSED BRACKET TO BREAK, CUTTING BREAK LINE. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED 2 MONTHS EARLIER. AFTER DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS FAULT OF DRIVER (SAID WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER) WE INVESTIGATED THIS MATTER AND FOUND 2 OTHER REPORTS ON NHTSA, THEN DEALERSHIP AGREED TO FIX PROBLEM. WE ARE VERY DISSATIFIED WITH THE HANDLING OF THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM FROM DEALERSHIP. *AK
AFTER HAVING A STRONG VIBRATION IN THE DASH AT HIGHER RATES OF SPEED 60+, AND THEN DEVELOPING HEAVY ENGINE KNOCK WITH ROUGH IDLING, I TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE I LEARNED THAT I HAD 3 BAD RODS AND NEEDED A COMPLETE NEW ENGINE AFTER ONLY HAVING 57,000 ON THE ORIGINAL ONE. *NM
THERE IS A RATTLING, BANGING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. IT ONLY DID IT AT FIRST WHEN I WAS SLOWING DOWN WITH AND WITHOUT THE BRAKES. IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH THE CAR IS FALLING APART. I TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HEARD THE NOISE BUT IT WAS NOTHING MECHANICAL AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS COMING FROM. THEY TOLD ME THEY CHECKED ALL OF THE PARTS UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WASN'T THAT. THEY TOLD ME THAT IF I WANTED THEM TO CONTINUE TO LOOK FOR THE PROBLEM, THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME BY THE HOUR. THE CAR STARTED MAKING THE NOISE ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. IT WILL GO AWAY FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN COME BACK WORSE. NOW IT DOES IT WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED ALSO. NO ONE CAN FIND THE PROBLEM.*JB
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES PEDAL WENT THE FLOOR. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. *AK
THE GAS PEDAL STUCK. CONSUMER PULLED OFF THE ROAD, AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. *AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT 25-30 MPH AND NEITHER FRONTAL AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK
MY SON AND A PASSENGER WERE TRAVELLING SOUTH IN THE LEFT LANE OF A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY WHEN HE WAS FORCED OFF THE ROAD BY A DRIVER IN THE RIGHT LANE. HE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND CROSSED THE MEDIAM AND THE TWO NORTH BOUND LANES OF TRAFFIC. THE CAR CONTINUED UP THE EMBANKMENT AND HIT A TREE. THE CAR IS A 1991 FORD MUSTANG. NEITHER THE PASSENGER OR THE DRIVERS AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
2 DAYS EARLIER HAD CAR AT MECHANIC AND HE SAID MY PADS WERE A LITTLE LOW SO THEY SHOOULD BE CHANGED. THE DAY I HAD THE APPOINTMNET TO REPLACE THE PADS THE REAR CALIPER FROZEN OPEN AND EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT WORK EITHER. WHILE IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL, CAR STARTED ROLLING FORWARD. HIT POST IN DRIVEWAY AND TORE OFF DRIVER MIRROR AND DENTED DOOR. BROUGHT CAR BACK TO MECHANIC THEN TOWED CAR TO DEALER AS I HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY AND DIDN'T WANT TO PAY MECHANIC FOR PARTS OR LABOR AS MECHANIC STATED CALIPER FROZEN. DEALER WOULD NOT FIX DAMAGE TO DOOR/MIRROR. THE PADS STILL HAD SOMETHING LEFT OTHERWISE ROTORS WOULD BE SCRATCHED UP WITH METAL DIGGING IN. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF METAL AGAINST METAL WHAT SO EVER. DEALER ALSO STATED MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED REPLACING AS IT HAD LEAKED ALL FLUID OUT OF SYSTEM. NEEDED TO BLEED SYSTEM AND REPLACE CALIPER. DEALER SAID NOBODY WOULD DO ANYTHING ABOUT DAMAGE AND IT WAS MY PROBLEM. I HAD THE DEALER PUT THE NEW PADS ON THAT MY MECHANIC HAD PURCHASED FOR DOING MY BRAKES. DEALER WANTED TO CHARGE ME $195.00 TO DO THIS. I KNEW SOMEONE THERE AND THEY WAIVED THE FEE BUT I HAD TO PAY $100.00 DEDUCTABLE FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. DO NOT BUY A FORD!!!!!*AK
STARTED HEARING A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM TOP PART OF THE ENGINE VERY NEXT DAY THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD NUMBER 3, RESULTING IN A CYLINDER HEAD REPLACEMENT .AFTER READING ALL OF THE FORUM COMPLAINTS THAT THIS IS A DEFECT, THANK GOD MINE WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, STILL LEFT WITH OUT A CAR FOR A WEEK , NO LOANER OR ENTAL PROVIDED BY DEALER AND I COULDNT AFFORD ONE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. NO IMPACT REPORTED. *AK
A COIL PACK HAS FAILED FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. WHEN IT STARTS GOING BAD THE CAR LURCHES (LOOSES AND REGAINS POWER MULTIPLE TIMES) WHEN YOU ARE ACCELLERATING, AND STALLS WHEN YOU DECELLERATE. BOTH ISSUES ARE SAFTY ISSUES AS THE LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELLERATING COULD CAUSE A DRIVERS TIMING TO BE BAD (FOR INSTANCE WHEN LEAVING A SIDE STREET INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC), AND THE STALLING CUTS ALL OF THE POWER EQUIPMENT. I HAVE ASKED FORD TO REPLACE ALL OF THE COIL PACKS NOW, INSTEAD OF CONTINUING TO LEAVE ME IN DANGEROUS CITUATIONS, AND THEY HAVE NOT DONE SO TO DATE. AS FORD DOESN'T PAY FOR RENTAL CARS IT IS ALSO GETTING REAL EXPENSIVE FOR ME TO REPLACE EACH COIL PACK WHEN IT GOES OUT. THE DEALERS SERVICE AGENT TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A PREVELENT ISSUE WITH FORD.*AK
CONSTANT VIBRATION IN THE DASH AREA. HAVE HAD ALL 4 AIR VENTS REPLACED TWICE AND THE ENTIRE CENTER CONSOLE REPLACED DO TO RADDLING NOISES. TO THIS DATE MY DASH STILL RATTLES IN THE VENT AREAS.*AK
WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED BRAKES HAVE SLOW REACTION TIME AND STALL CAUSING THE CAR TO RUN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. WHEN DRIVING AND APPLYING BRAKES CAR VIBRATES ALMOST LIKE A PUMPING EFFECT AND THEN SKIDS. *TR
FORD MOTOR COMPANY REFUSES TO FIX A DEFECT IN THEIR 2001 MUSTANG BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE SAME DEFECT THAT IS OUTLINED IN THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN #14826, NHTSA #619318. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT AND NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HIT AN EMBANKMENT. DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT BECAME DETACHED. HOWEVER, BOTH AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO A HOSPITAL. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2001 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE SPARK PLUGS SHOT OUT OF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE REAR TIRES OF MY 2001 FORD MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE BEGAN TO SKID, SINCE THE ROAD WAS WET. THIS IS UNDERSTANDABLE, SO I EASED OFF THE GAS TO ALLOW THE TIRES TO CATCH, BUT THE TRACTION CONTROL MUST HAVE TURNED ON, AND CAUSED MY CAR TO BEGIN SPINNING IN CIRCLES. THIS MADE MY CAR GO OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A TREE. I BELIEVE THE TRACTION CONTRL SYSTEM IS FAULTY.*AK
I HAVE A 2001 FORD MUSTANG V6 CONVERTIBLE. FORD HAS A DEFECT ON THEIR DPFE SENSOR FOR THEIR EMISSION EGR FLOW. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM IN FORD MUSTANGS. EVERY PERSON I KNOW WHO OWNS A 99-01 HAS HAD TO CHANGE THEIR DPFE SENSOR, SPENDING THEIR OWN MONEY FOR FORD'S DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. EVEN THE LOCAL ROCK RIVER FORD DEALERSHIP PARTS DEPT. TOLD ME THAT FORD HAS A BIG DEFECT ON THIS, AND THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THE PROBLEM. FORD HAS A FAULTY DPFE SENSOR ON THEIR MUSTANGS. I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO PAY MY HARD EARNED MONEY TO TEMPORARILY FIX THEIR PROBLEM, BY BUYING A NEW DPFE SENSOR. I THINK FORD SHOULD GIVE ME A NEW SENSOR, IT WAS THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. CHECK UNDER ANY OF THE 99-01 V6 MUSTANG FORUMS SITES, AND SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT, FOR "INSUFFICIENT EGR FLOW". CAUSED BY THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY THROTTLE STICKING. UNDER HARD ACCELERATION, WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS, THE CAR WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP GOING FASTER. THE GAS PEDDLE STICKS. I HAVE ALMOST GOT INTO A FEW ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS. *NM
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AND AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED MINOR SCARS AND BRUISES. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. *AK
TWICE NOW, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE CAR, IT DOES NOT WANT TO START. IT MAKES THE CRANKING SOUND, BUT WILL NOT TURN OVER. THE FIRST TIME, I TRIED 3 TIMES AND ON THE FOURTH TRY, IT FINALLY TURNED OVER. THE SECOND TIME, IT FINALLY TURNED OVER ON THE FIFTH TRY. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AFTER EACH PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME, THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, BUT THEY REPLACED THE IDLING SWITCH/VALVE. SIX DAYS LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. TOOK BACK TO FORD THE NEXT DAY. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WAS ASKED IF I COULD LEAVE IT FOR 2 TO 3 DAYS, WHICH I COULD NOT AT THE TIME. DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, BUT AM GETTING FRUSTRATED WITH IT. AFRAID THAT IT WILL EVENTUALLY NOT START FOR ME, STRANDING ME. *JB
2001, MUSTANG, HYDROPLANED AT 50 MPH IN HEAVY RAIN, SPUN 360 DEGREES, AND SLID DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. HAD FLAT ON RIGHT FRONT, AND REQUIRED A TOW TRUCK. WHILE TOWING THE VEHICLE THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS PULLING HARD. WHEN HE EXAMINED THE VEHICLE BOTH REAR BRAKE CALIPERS WERE GLOWING RED HOT. I WAS INFORMED BY MY INSURANCE ADJUSTER AND THE MECHANIC THAT THE CALIPERS WERE CORRODED. THIS REQUIRED REPLACING THE CALIPERS ON BOTH REAR WHEELS. I DRIVE THE VEHICLE EVERY DAY FOR 125 MILE ROUND TRIP TO WORK AND HAVE FOR THE LAST 12 MONTHS. THERE WAS NO WARNING WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND FIND IT HARD TO BELEIVE THAT THE CALIPERS WERE LOCKED UP FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME.*AK
I STARTED MY VEHICLE IN THE MORNING AND I HEARD A LOUD NOISE IN THE ENGINE. I LEFT THE CAR LIKE THAT AND CALLED MY MECHANIC. WHEN HE CHECKED THE CAR, HE FOUND OUT THAT THE SPARK PLUG WAS LOOSE, HE JUST PUT BACK. A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER, I HEARD THE NOISE IN THE ENGINE AGAIN, I KNEW WHAT THE POBLEM WAS SO I PUT THE PLUG BACK IN. SOME MONTHS LATER (12/04) I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT THIS TIME THE PLUG WOULDN'T TIGHTEN, SO I CALLED MY MECHANIC AGAIN. HE CHECKED THE CAR AND FOUND OUT THAT THE THREAD IN THE SPARK PLUG HOLE HAD STRIPPED. I BOUGHT A SPARK PLUG THREAD KIT AND HE WAS ABLE TO FIX THE ENGINE, BUT THE ENGINE DIDN'T PERFORM THE SAME. *NM
AUTOMOBILE COLLISION FRONT SEAT FAILURE LEAVING DRIVER UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE INVOLVED 2001, FORD, MUSTANG. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH CONSUMER TURNED LEFT ON A ROAD UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND VEHICLE ROLLED ACROSS A STRETCH OF GRAVEL, IT LOST CONTROL AND COLLIDED WITH A BEAM PROTRUDING FROM A RETAINER WALL. SEAT BELTS WERE WORN, BUT THE FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED MINOR BACK AND HEAD INJURIES. POLICE DID ARRIVE ON THE SCENE BUT THE CONSUMER WAS NOT CITED. *AK
DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW HAS GONE OFF TRACK 3 TIMES NOW. IT HAS BEEN "FIXED" BY A LOCAL DEALERSHIP TWICE WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRENTY. REVERSE LIGHTS NOT WORKING, THIS HAS ALSO BEEN "FIXED" BY THE DEALERSHIP AND IS NOW DEFECTIVE AGAIN. THROTLE GETS STUCK AND THE RPMS RACE WORSE BETWEEN 2ND AND THIRD GEAR.*AK
FAULTY SEATBELTS. THE BELTS WON'T ROLL UP WHEN I RELEASE IT.*AK
AT SPEEDS OF 45 MPH OR LESS, WHEN DOWNSHIFTING AND BRAKING, THE ENGINE WILL STALL. POWER BRAKES, POWER STEERING, AND A/C STOP. CANNOT "POP THE CLUTCH" TO RESTART THE MOTOR. MUST TURN KEY TO OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I HAVE BEEN DOWNSHIFTING AND TURNING AND HAVE LOST POWER STEERING IN THE TURN AND COULD HARDLY TURN THE WHEEL WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND SPORADICALLY, AND HAS DONE IT SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES, AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED A GARAGE. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED HIGH IDLE AND SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING.*AK
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2001 FORD MUSTANG. I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THE GAS TANK IS LOCATED BEHIND THE REAR AXLE AND IS ACTUALLY ATTACHED TO THE REAR BUMPER. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM IN THE FORD MUSTANGS THAT CAN RESULT IN THE VEHICLE CATCHING ON FIRE AND EXPLODING IN THE EVENT OF A REAR-IMPACT COLLISION. I AM VERY CONCERNED NOW FOR MY PERSONAL SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE DESIGN IN THE FORD MUSTANGS THAT NEEDS APPROPRIATE ATTENTION AND A NEW DESIGN. I HAVE ALMOST STOPPED DRIVING ALLTOGETHER BECAUSE OF THIS VERY SERIOUS DEFECT. I DO NOT WANT TO BE KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN MY MUSTANG CATCHES ON FIRE AND EXPLODES BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION OF THE FUEL TANK. I GAVE MY CAR A TUNE UP AT A FAMILY FRIENDS SHOP SPARK PLUG BROKE SO REPLACED IT WITH A BOSH PLATINUM 4 WHICH WAS ALL THE LOCAL AUTO PART HAD 6 MONTHS LATTER MY CAR BLOWS A PLUG OUT OF THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ENGINE WHICH HAD THE ORIGINAL PLUG AND I TOW IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE WARRANTY REFUSES TO FIX IT BECAUSE AFTER MARKET PLUG ON THE OTHER SIDE AND FORD KNOWS THEY HAVE DEFECTIVE HEAD AND 4.6LT ENGINES BUILT FR:01-03 BUT REFUSE TO FIX IT OR EVEN TEST IT TO SEE IF IT WAS DEFECTIVE SINCE THE AFTER MARKET PLAG WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE AND THE ENGINE FAILED DUE TO UNKNOWN REASONS ON THE SIDE WITH THE ORIGINAL PLUGS THIS APPLIES TO ALL VEHICLE FROM FORD WITH 4.6LT 2V ENGINES MORE INFO FOUND HERE HTTP://WWW.BLUEOVALNEWS.COM/2003/POWERTRAIN/4.6L.ENGINETICK.T31604.HTM *LA (PER CONSUMER CALL (NO SMOKE OR FLAMES); CHANGED FIRE FROM YES TO NO - C. WHILE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION AT 40 MPH A VEHICLE COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TRIED TO CROSS IN FRONT OF CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE TURN AND COLLIDED CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. CONSUMER WAS WEARING SEAT BELTS, BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*AK
FUEL PUMP FAILURE, CAR STALLS ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENT & WOULD NOT START WHEN HOT. FUEL PUMP REPLACED AT 36,500 MILES! DEALER WOULDN'T REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. FUEL PUMP REPLACED AGAIN AT 59,234 MILES, SAME PROBLEM.*AK
SINCE PURCHASING MY CERTIFIED 2001 MUSTANG GT (USED) I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING PULLING TO THE LEFT DURING DRIVING AND/OR BRAKING. I TOOK IT TO FORD 8 TIMES AND FINALLY THEY SAID IT WAS THE CAMBERS AND CASTERS. AFTER HAVING IT FOR A YEAR I HAVE HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY PUT STEERING FLUID IN. NOW FORD HAS DISCOVERED THAT SOMETHING CALLED THE STEERING RACK WAS BROKE AND LEAKING. ALSO, THE EMERGENCY BREAK HAD BECOME LOOSE. AND NOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH A WHINING AND SWAYING IN THE REAR END. SO FAR THEY CAN'T FIND OUT WHAT THE WHINING IS AND FOUND THAT THE WHEEL BEARS WERE LOCKING UP. A DIAGNOSIS HASN'T BEEN MADE AT THIS MOMENT AND IT'S STILL WITH FORD FOR 4 DAYS. *NLM

WHILE THE CONSUMER SAT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT THE DRIVERS CHEST SOMEHOW HIT THE AUTOMATIC SEAT ADJUSTMENT BUTTON AND CAUSED THE DRIVER TO BECOME PINNED BETWEEN THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE DRIVERS SEAT. *NLM
FOLLOWING SAFETY REPORT WAS FILED WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY ON-LINE: ========================================= THE FORD RIGHT FRONT INNER BREAK PAD SEPARATED FROM ITS METAL BASE AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE ROTOR. I WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE BREAK PROBLEM WHEN I STARTED HEARING A ROUGH METAL SOUND. I HAD A PRIVATE TECHNICIAN TO REMOVE THE BREAK PADS AND ROTOR IMMEDIATELY. THEN TOOK IT AND SHOWED IT TO THE FORD DEALER SWANSON FORD IN LOS GATOS, CALIFORNIA. THE DEALER WAS RELUCTANT TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THE BREAK PAD WAS SPLIT APART, HE HAS INSISTENT ON IT WAS PAD WEAR. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE FORD DEALER TECHNICIAN, IT IS VISUAL AND VERY NOTICEABLE THAT THE BREAK PAD HAS SPLIT APART FROM ITS METAL BASE, IT WAS NOT A WEAR OUT DOWN TO THE METAL BASE. THIS IS UNSAFE AND MAY CAUSE UNNECESSARY ACCIDENTS. THE SAME PROBLEM MAY HAPPEN TO OTHER DRIVERS TOO. THIS IS WHY I AM INSISTING ON A FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE TO GET BACK TO ME IN A VERY SHORT TIME. DUE TO SAFETY REASON I WILL HAVE NO CHOICE TO TURN ALL THE EVIDENCE TO THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT IF FORD CORPORATION DOES NOT COME FORWARD TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AND PAY FOR THE ADDITIONAL DAMAGES CAUSED DUE TO MALFUNCTION OF THE BREAK PAD ASSEMBLY. WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED. THE WIPER BLADES MADE NO CONTACT WITH THE WINDSHIELD WHICH CAUSED POOR VISIBILITY. THE DRIVER HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD ARMS. *AK *SCC *NLM
WE HAD A DEEP SNOW STORM LAST MONTH AND I GOT MY 2001 MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE STUCK IN THE SNOW IN MY DRIVEWAY. EACH TIME I TRIED TO ROCK THE VEHICLE BACK AND FORTH TO FREE IT FROM THE DEEP SNOW, THE ENGINE WOULD POWER DOWN. I FINALLY REALIZED THAT THE "ELECTRONIC TRACTION CONTROL" WAS CAUSING THIS. I TURNED IT OFF AND WAS ABLE TO FREE THE VEHICLE. I THINK THERE IS A CONNECTION BETWEEN THIS AND THE BRAKE PROBLEM I DESCRIBED BEFORE WHICH CAUSED ME TO HYDRO-PLANE AND SPIN OUT IN HEAVY RAIN. CONSUMER WAS REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 40-45 MPH, WHICH CAUSED CONSUMER'S VEHICLE TO HIT ANOTHER MOTORIST. DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. TS. CONSUMER AND OCCUPANT SUFFERED NECK, BACK, SHOULDER AND KNEE INJURIES.*JB
THE AIR BAGS IN MY 2001 FORD MUSTANG GT, DEPLOYED WITHOUT CAUSE. THERE WAS NO IMPACT OR SUDDEN STOP. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THEM TO DEPLOY. FORD SAYS IT THAT THEY DEPLOYED FROM AN IMPACT, YET THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY AND I HAD TO GO THRU MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO GET THEM REPLACED.
