CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING OVER 40 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL ROCK SIDE TO SIDE VIBRATING HEAVILY AND IT WILL BECOME HARD FOR THE CONSUMER TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. MR THE CONSUMER STATES WHILE BRAKING TO A NORMAL STOP, THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY WILL PULL TO THE RIGHT. AT VARIOUS SPEEDS NAVIGATING A SLIGHT RIGHT TURN, THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT IF YOU TOUCH THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONSUMER NOTICED A PUDDLE OF LUBRICANT UNDER THE VEHICLE AND SAW THAT LUBRICANT WAS SPRAYED ALL ABOUT THE CHASIS. FORD REPLACED THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO PULL. THE DEALER ARE UNSURE OF EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, THEY ALSO CHECKED A BULLETIN WHICH STATES CHECK THE ALIGNMENT, WHICH WAS RESET-WAS OFF, AND THE REAR AIR PRESS TO 25 PS. THE CONSUMER DOESN'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE FAR SINCE THEY NEVER FOUND THE PROBLEM. *SCC
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT BELT WAS STUCK IN A PARTIALLY RETRACTED POSITION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT PULL OUT ANY FURTHER OR RETRACT ANY FURTHER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW CONTINUES TO JUMP OUT OF PLACE CAUSING WINDOW NOT TO ROLL DOWN. WHEN FIRST BOUGHT CAR, WE PAID OVER 300 TO REPLACE ENTIRE FRAME AND GLASS. ONLY A SHORT TIME AFTER THIS IT CONTINUED TO DO THE SAME THING EVERY TWO OR THREE WEEKS WE ARE HAVING TO HAVE THE GLASS PUT BACK INTO TRACTS. THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND THINK IT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED.

AT 7,853 MILES, THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE. UPON CHECKING THE DIP STICK, THE STOCK WAS TWISTED OUT OF SHAPE, GIVING A READING OF MORE OIL THAN NEEDED. THE FIRST SERVICE CENTER THAT I TOOK THE CAR TO STATED THAT THE CAR HAD 1 QUART OF OIL, AND COULD BURN 1 QUART OF OIL PER 1,000 MILES WHEN NEW (NOWHERE WAS THIS NOTED IN OWNER'S MANUAL, WHICH RECOMMENDS OIL CHANGES EVERY 5,000 MILES). OIL CHANGE WAS PERFORMED, WHICH DID NOT REMEDY THE SITUATION. THE NEXT DEALER THAT THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO IDENTIFIED THAT THE #8 BEARING WAS WORN, WHICH REQUIRED THE ENGINE TO BE REPLACED. FORD WOULD NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY, NOR WOULD THE DEALER OR THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER IN MICHIGAN ANSWER ANY OF THE OWNER'S QUESTIONS, EXCEPT THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE ENGINE. OWNER WAS LEFT PURCHASING A NEW ENGINE ON THEIR OWN.*JB
VEHICLE WAS PULLED INTO GARAGE. IN A MATTER OF SEVERAL MINUTES VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING, MORE AND MORE UNTIL FIRE ACUALLY IGNITED. FIRE INSPECTOR SAID MAIN WIRE FROM CONNECTOR BOX WAS THE CAUSE. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK

THE VENTS ON THE FRONT DASH HAVE SPLIT IN TWO. ONCE I TURNED THE AIR ON PLASTIC PEICES STATED FLYING OUT. THIS COULD HAVE EASILY HIT SOMEONE IN THE FACE OR EYE CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY.
BRAKES FAILED AT 3-5 MPH. DEALER DETERMINED FRAME HAD NOT BEEN WELDED PROPERLY, AND THIS CAUSED BRAKE LINE TO CRACK, LEAKING BRAKE FLUID.*AK

I FEEL IT ISN'T NORMAL WHEN IT IS POURING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY. THEY DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. HAD TIRES ROTATED THEN GOT A FLAT TIRE AND THEY CROSS THREADED THE LUG NUTS AND THE BOLT HAD TO BE BROKEN OFF TO REPAIR THE FLAT TIRE.*AK

DAMAGE LINES UP PERFECTLY WITH JACK. DEALER DAMAGED W/ JACK AND FORD (WHO WOULDN'T EVEN COME IN TO LOOK AT CAR) AGREED W/ DEALER THAT THIS COULD CAUSE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING, THE AIR BAGS MALFUNCTIONED, DEALER MADE DAMAGE - IT'S A COVER-UP.

VEHICLE TAKEN TO SERVICE DEPT AND HAD BOTH FRONT TIE ROD ENDS REPLACED BECAUSE THEY WERE LOOSE. *AK DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TIE RODS WERE COMPLETELY LOOSE. THERE WERE NEW TIRES INSTALLED ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AS THE OTHERS WERE COMPLETELY WORN. ALSO, THE HEADER IN THE MOTOR FAILED. *JG

WHILE DRIVING 45-50 MPH, PASSENGER REAR TIRE DISINTEGRATED FROM VEHICLE, HOWEVER CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. GOODYEAR INSPECTED TIRE AND ADVISED THERE WAS A SMALL PUNCTURE WHICH CAUSED TIRE TO LOSE PRESSURE AND DISINTEGRATE. CONSUMER'S FAMILY MEMBER SUFFERED BACK INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT. CONSUMER IS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE 3 REMAINING TIRES BECAUSE WINDOW STICKER STATED VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE 16 INCH TIRES, BUT THIS VEHICLE HAS 17 INCH TIRES. DRIVER HAD NO CONTROL. DEALER INVESTGATED SAID FORD IS AWARE OF PROBLEM AND THERE IS "NO FIX'. STATED ENGINE CAN INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY DURING WARMUP. DEFROSTER WAS ON. 2001 MUSTANG GT WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DISPLAYS AN EXTENDED-HARD-GRINDING SHIFT FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR ESPECIALLY AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN. ALSO WHEN CRUISING AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE TRANSMISSION MAKES A HESITANT CLANKING NOISE WHICH JERKS THE CAR SLIGHLTY IF ONE'S FOOT IS TAKEN OFF THE GAS PEDAL FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN CLANK AGAIN WHEN SPEED IS RESUMED WHEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN SOON AFTER PURCHASE OF THE NEW CAR AND STILL EXITS NOW WITH 48,000 MILES ON IT. * CB

THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION FAILURES. IT HAS GONE OUT THREE TIMES ALL IN THE SAME MANNER. THE CAR IN BONE STOCK AND ONLY HAS 13,800 MILES ON IT. THE THIRD TIME A FIELD DISTRICT ENGINEER SUPPOSEDLY EXAMINED IT AND SAID THE THE PARTS AND WORKMANSHIP APPEAR TO BE FINE WITH NO FLAWS AND DECLINED MY WARRANTY CLAIM. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE DISPUTE SETTLEMENT BOARD AND THE KS ATTORNEY GENERAL WITH NO POSITIVE OUTCOME. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS ACTION ESPECIALLY SINCE I WORK FOR FORD(KANSAS CITY ASSEMBLY PLANT)I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WEERE PROBLEMS WITH THE '01 TRANSMISSIONS AS PER THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS, TSB# 14879 NHTSA# SB620176, SO IT APPEARS THAT DEARBORN ASSEMBLY AND FORD KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM BUT YET I'M STILL GETTING RESISTANCE????????????

VEHICLE WAS REARENDED AND FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BROKE AND FELL BACKWARDS. BRACKET THAT HOLDS SEAT BROKE. WHEN SEAT FELL BACKWARD IT INJURED A CHILD IN BACK SEAT. DAMAGE WAS ON RIGHT REAR SIDE OF VEHICLE. HAD NOT CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
MY V6 MUSTANG STALLS WHILE IN MOTION CAUSING THE STEERING AND BRAKES TO FREEZE. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM. IT HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES; ONCE AT 30 MPH, 60 MPH, 45 MPH, AND 40 MPH. THE CAR ONLY HAS 4500 MILES ON IT. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A HEATER DISPLAY LIGHT GOING OUT. DEALERSHIP CAN'T IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF EITHER OF THESE PROBLEMS. IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES FOR THE STALLLING AND THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE NOTHING. I HAVE ANXIETY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS IT STALLS OUT AT ANY TIME WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER.
