CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON THE PASSANGER SIDE SEAT BELT. DEALER CONTACTED TWICE, LEFT THE TRUCK FOR SEVERAL DAYS. IT WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *YD
VEHICLE WANDERS AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL, THE REAR END HAS EXCESSIVE ROLL AT HIGHWAY USE, LACK OF CONTROL EXIST WHEN THE ROAD CONDITIONS CHANGE.
THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS SHIMMMIED GOING UP AND DOWN. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE ELECTRIC WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE MAY HAVE, OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN FIXED. *YH
DATE OF PURCHASE SMELLED RUBBER ON THE DRIVERS FRONT WHEEL. TRUCK BOUNCES ALL OVER CONTINUES TO DO SO, THIS CAUSES POOR STEERING CONTROL AS WELL. BRAKES ALTERNATES FROM GRABBING OR SLOW IN WORKING, PCM HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED, YET THE WHINNING IN THE ENGINE OR DRIVE TRAIN CONTINUE. SUSPENSION VERY WEAK, VEHICLE LEANS TO THE RIGHT ON THE CURVES AND STEERING CONTROL IS DANGEROUS.
WHILE DRIVING 57-67 MPH THERE IS A CONSTANT VIBRATION. ENGINEER FROM FORD STATED IT WAS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE TRUCK.*AK FORD RECOMMENDED AND INSTALLED NEW GOODYEAR WRANGLER TIRES ON VEHICLE. *TT
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND APPLYING BRAKES VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. ALSO, AT SLOW SPEED APPLIED ON BRAKES AND BRAKE SYSTEM WILL LOCK UP.*AK
WHEN DEPRESSING BRAKES THEY WOULD LOCK UP AND CATCH. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED FIVE TIMES, AND COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT HEAD-ON. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING MINOR INJURIES.*AK
THE TIRES HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER TO REPLACE THEM TO NO EVAIL. THE BATTERY WENT OUT, THE POWER WINDOW ON THE DRIVER SIDE DIED, THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPAIRED TWICE THE SEAT BELTS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSANGER SEATS REPLACED THE TRAMISSION HAS GONE OUT TWICE THE COMPUTER/BRAIN TO RUN THE TRUCK HAS GONE OUT THREE TIMES. RIGHT REAR BRAKE LINE IS RUBBING AGAINST SHOCK ABSORBER AND CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF BRAKES WHILE DRIVING. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AND APPLYING BRAKES DRIVER CAN HEAR A LOUD NOISE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. HOWEVER, CANNOT FIND CAUSE. *AK
THE CLUTCH WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR WHEN IT SAT FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. *MJ *NLM
MY TIRES ON THE VEHICLE ARE 16" AND THE SPARE TIRE IS 15" THE PROBLEM IS THE SPARE TIRE BEING A SMALLER SIZE THAN THE OTHERS IS THAT IT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR MAKE THE VEHICLE ROLL OVER OR DAMAGE THE DIFFERENTIAL OF THE VEHICLE I WANT TO STRESS THAT THIS IS NOT A "DONUT "TIRE. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A REGULAR TIRE ACCODING TO THE OWNERS MANUAL IF IT WAS A "DONUT " IT WOULD BE LABELED AS SUCH IT HAS NO SUCH MARKINGS. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER AND GOT THE SAME ANSWER FROM BOTH THAT'S THE WAY YOU BOUGHT IT THAT'S THE WAY IT IS SO I ASSUMED THAT THEY SHIPPED OUT MANY VEHICLE THAT WERE EQUIPPED THAT SAME WAY IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO NOT NOTIFY THE OWNER BUT IT WILL ALSO IN MY OPINION CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IE.ROLLOVER VEHICLE PARTS FAILURE THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME PLEASE KEEP ME NOTIFIED OF YOUR FINDINGS. CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED ON A COLLISION AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOYED AT THE IMPACT. DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. MR
WHEN CONSUMER PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE RUMBLING, BUMPING NOISE COMING FROM THE OUTSIDE. CONSUMER THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS BROKEN IN BUT IT ONLY GOT WORSE. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY DIDN'T WARRANT TIRES, SENDING CONSUMER TO THE FIRESTONE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS DECIDED THERE THAT THE TIRES WERE CUPPING. CONSUMER HAD THE TIRES REPLACED. CONSUEMR INFORMED THE FORD DELAERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED OF FIRESTONES FINDINGS. FORD INFORMED CONSUMER THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY THIS DOESN'T APPLY BECAUSE IT OCCURED THROUGH NORMAL WEAR. CONSUMER HAS RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, STATING THE VEHICLE VIBRATES SO BADLY IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *JG
THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE HAD 16 INCH ORIGINAL WHEELS AND TIRES, BUT THE SPARE TIRE AND WHEEL WERE ONLY 15 INCHES. *YH CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS ILLOGICAL AND COULD POSE A SERIOUS PROBLEM. CONSUMER THINKS FORD SHOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM BY MOUNTING A 16 INCH TIRE AS A SPARE INSTEAD OF THE 15 INCH. *JG
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, CONSUMER STATES THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WHICH RESULTED IN A HEAD INJURY TO THE DRIVER. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TS
B PILLAR ROOF SUPPORT STRUCTURE MISSING. *AK
THE VEHICLE CAME EQUIPPED WITH A "15" SPARE TIRE. IF THE TIRE WAS USED WITH THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED, IT WOULD PUT A BIND ON THE AXLE AND CAUSE IT TO BREAK. *JB 16 INCH TIRES WON'T FIT UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONSUMER FELT THAT THE DEALER SHOULD REPLACE THE TIRES WITH 15 INCH TIRE AND WHEEL WITH 16 INCH TIRE AND WHEEL. SCC
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH VEHICLE WAS IN A FRONTAL COLLISION, BUT NONE OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE FRONT CV JOINTS ARE MAKING A "CRACKING" NOISE WHEN TURNING CORNERS OR APPLYING THE BRAKES. DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEALS WERE DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED THEM. 1 WEEK LATER CV JOINTS BEGAN CRACKING AGAIN.*AK
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PERFORMED ERRATICLY. TRANSMISSION HAD A TENDENCY TO NOT SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE UPON COLD A START. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES OF OPERATION, THE TRANSMISSIONS PERFORMED NORMAL. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *PH
WHILE DRIVING, IF THERE WAS THE SLIGHTEST TURN IN THE STEERING WHEEL, THE TURN SIGNAL FAILED TO ENGAGE, AND IF THE SIGNAL TURN SIGNAL WAS SET AND MAKE A SLIGHT TURN OF THE WHEEL, THE SIGNAL WENT OFF. *AK A NEW SIGNAL LIGHT SWITCH WAS ADDED BUT THERE WAS NO CHANGE. THE CONSUMER'S BROTHER HAD PURCHASED A 2002 AND IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *SCC *JB
QUESTIONS REGARDING FIRESTONE TIRES.*MR THE CONSUMER WANTED TO KNOW IF THE FIRESTONE TIRES WERE STILL SUBJECT TO RECALL ON A 2001 FORD RANGER. *CB *JB
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO DEFECTIVE TIRES. FIRESTONE, WILDERNESS TIRES WERE WEARING OUT FROM THE INSIDE. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED AND WOULDN'T RESTART. DEALERSHIP HAS SERVICED VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, AND PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
