DRIVING ON HIGHWAY IN CRUISE CONTROL AND CAR WENT INTO FULL THROTTLE BY ITSELF, COULDN'T GET THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF. MANUFACTURER CONTACTED, AND CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. REPAIRS AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. PROBLEM OCCURRED TWICE. *AK *ML
WHEN STEPPING DOWN ON GAS PEDAL THE MOTOR RAISES UP IN FRONT AND ROLLS BACKWARDS. MOTOR MOUNTS ARE LIQUID FILLED AND HAVE A DEFECT. DEALER CONTACTED, REPLACED NEW BOLT. REPAIRS WOULD BE AT OWNER'S EXPENSE DUE TO NO WARRANTY. *AK.ET.
LOOSE/CORRODING BODY MOUNTS BROKE, CAUSING ENGINE/TRANSMISSION TO BREAK/BIND STEERING COMPONENTS AND DAMAGE FRONT TIRES AND TIE ROD PRIOR TO RECALL NOTIFICATION. (93V-10602)
CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE ON DEC. 23, 1998 AND ONE OF THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD US THERE WAS A RECALL OF THE TRANSMISSION IN 1994 FOR THE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER OF OUR CAR, WHO TOLD US 6 YEARS OR 60000 MILES WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. BUT THE LOCAL DEALER THAT SOLD US THE CAR REFUSE THE FACT. WE NEED TO FIND OUT THE FACT. PLEASE HELP US SOLVE OUR CONCERNS. THANK YOU.
MY MOTOR MOUNTS, TIE RODS, AND CV BOOTS WENT BAD. THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND TIE RODS I FEEL WENT OUT WAY TO SOON FOR ANY CAR. THIS CAR WAS GIVEN TLC BEFORE I HAD IT B/C IT WAS MY GRANDMA'S. MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS ARE WORKING IMPROPERLY. THEY ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO OPEN WITH FINGERS. YOU HAVE TO PULL THE DOOR HANDLE FROM THE INSIDE USUALLY TO GET IT.
RECALL 98V323000/MANUFACTURER 98S36; REAR SUBFRAME MOUNTS BROKE DUE TO EXCESSIVE RUST/CORROSION ON THE TRANSMISSION FRAME. DEALER CONTACTED AND THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT COMPLY TO THE RECALL. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
ENGINE HEAD GASKET BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROX. 60 MPH. DEALER NOTIFIED AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT 1994 AND 1995 VEHICLES WERE UNDER RECALL. MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT NO RECALL WAS DONE ON THOSE VEHICLES. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND APPLYING THE BRAKES TO STOP VEHICLE WILL JERK/VIBRATE AND STALL AND DIE OUT. ALSO, WHEN SLOWING DOWN, VEHICLE WILL JUMP OUT GEAR, AND NOW VEHICLE WON'T MOVE AT ALL. *AK
VEHICLE INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION AT APPROXIMATELY 25 OR MORE MPH. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. DEALER/MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED AT THIS TIME. *AK
TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED TWICE. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN 5/97. MOTOR MOUNTS BROKE, CAUSING ENGINE TO LAY ON TRANSMISSION, WHICH ALSO WAS REPLACED. SECOND TIME, MOTOR MOUNTS BROKE, AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MOTOR MOUNTS. *AK
MOTOR MOUNTS FAILED AS WELL AS THE AXLES AS A DIRECT RESULT OF RECALL ON SUBFRAMES, CAUSING DIFFICULT STEERING.
WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE WENT INTO NEUTRAL, AND COULD NOT BE PUT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR, CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ABOUT 30 MPH ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND DROPPED OFF VEHICLE. THIS WAS JUST LIKE THE DEFECT MENTIONED IN RECALL 6760, NHTSA 93-V-106-002 DATE 16-NOV-93. BUT THE MANUFACTURER HAD TOLD CONSUMER THAT HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER IS NOT ON THE RECALL. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER CONTACTED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED VEHICLE LOSES POWER UNTIL VEHICLE REACHES ABOUT 35 MPH, AND THEN IT JERKS WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING. *AK
THE CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE ENGINE WAS PICKING UP FROM THE BACK TO THE FRONT AND THE CONSUMER HAD TO GET THE TRANMISSION REBUILT.
WHY IS THERE A RECALL FOR SOME 1991 FORD TAURUS'S EXHIBITING THE SAME PROBLEM AS MINE WITH THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS HAVING TO BE REPLACED, AND NOT MINE. I RECENTLY SPENT $389.00 FOR THIS REPAIR. I'VE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE AXLE IN THIS VEHICHLE AS I DID IN ANOTHER FORD TAURUS (1987) I PREVIOUSLY OWNED. THE AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING SYSTEM IS ALSO ANOTHER REPEAT PROBLEM FOR ME OCURRING IN BOTH 1987 & 1991 VEHCILES.
THE FRONT BODY MOUNTS BROKE OFF, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO JUMP UP WHEN ACCLERATING, WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHILE ACCELERATING, CAR CUT OUT. THE MANUFACTURER HAS YET TO BE CONTACTED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH CONSUMER HAD A TIRE BLOW OUT. THE CONSUMER TOOK HIS FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND STOPPED. IN COLD WEATHER THE RIMS ARE NOT SAFE AND THE AIR LEAKS OUT OF THE TIRES. DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE INNER TIE ROD CRACKED WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF STEERING. ALSO, POKED A HOLE IN THE FUEL LINE, CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE VEHICLE. DEALER HAS SEEN DEFECTIVE PART. *AK
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED. *AK
TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REBUILT 4 TIMES, IT KEPT SLIPPING AT ANY SPEED. *AKCONSUMER STATES THAT AFTER STARTING THE TRANSMISSION, THE VEHICLE WOULD OVER HEAT AND CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EXPRESSWAY. *JG

AIR CONDITIONING FAILURE.
UPPER BOLT ON THE FRONT MOTOR MOUNT FELL OUT. MOTOR MOUNT WAS REPLACED. ALSO, OWNS A 1992 FORD TAURUS THAT EXHIBITS A SIMILAR PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, CAME ACROSS THE SAME COMPLAINT ON NUMEROUS WEB SITES. *AK THANK YOU
THE CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING, AND COMPUTER SYSTEM SHUT DOWN. IN ADDITION, FLUID FROM THE BATTERY EXPLODED, AND SPLASHED OUT FROM THE HOOD. THE MANUFACTURER HAS YET TO BE CONTACTED. *AK
TRANSMISSION FAILED.
WHEN DRIVING IT IS VERY HARD TO SHIFT FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. WHEN TRYING TO PICK UP SPEED, THERE IS A VERY LOUD NOISE, AND THE VEHICLE WILLVIBRATE AT TIMES. *AK
RECALL WORK COMPLETED ON REAR SUBFRAME BODY MOUNTS HOWEVER FAILED.
REAR BRAKES SELF ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY; DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
REAR DRUMS ARE OUT OF ROUND FOR UNKNOWN REASON. DEALER NOTIFIED.
TRANS. JUST QUIT WORKING AT 65 MPH , ENGINE JUST STARTED RACING.HAD TO COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD. COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO A CRASH . 2 ) TRANS IS SLIPPING WAS TOLD NEED A NEW ONE AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN LESS THAN A YEAR WITH THIS TRANS.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 20 MPH CONSUMER WENT TO MAKE A TURN, LOST ALL STEERING POWER. VEHICLE VEERED ACROSS THE MEDIAN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. CONSUMER HAD TO HIT THE BRAKES VERY HARD IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONSUMER CONTACT THE DEALER, THE DEALER SAID THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. *AK
TIRE SIDEWALL TREADS SEPARATED PREMATURELY (TIRE ID #- DOTCXNP49V058) TIRE NAME- TOYO 2800 ULTRA, SIZE P205/70R14)
REAR WINDOW WIPER SWITCH IF LEFT ON WHEN VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, WOULD RUN BATTERY DOWN. ALSO, WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR HAS TO BE SET IN A CERTAIN POSTION TO WORK. CONSUMER WAS WAITING FOR A CALL FROM DEALER.*AK
WIRING HARNESS SHORTED CAUSING BURNED WIRES AND IGNITION SWITCH DAMAGE.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 65 MPH AND THE TRANSMISISON MADE A STRANGE NOISE, AND THE LEFT FRONT AXLE LOCKED UP. THE DEALER HAS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. *AK
THE INBOARD END OF TIE ROD SEPARATED FOR THE STEERING RACK CAUSING TOTAL AND INSTANTANEOUS LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. *SLC
WHEN TURNING LEFT & ACCELERATING, STEERING LOCKS UP. HAD TAKEN TO DEALER & INFORMED LEFT SIDE MOUNTS HAD DROPPED & IN PIECES. RIGHT SIDE SHOWS SOME DETERIOATION. MECHANIC SAID RECALL WAS CANCELLED & WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REPAIR VEHICLE. (#93V106002) *AK
RECALL 93V106002. VEHICLE MADE A CLUNCKING SOUND, TURNING, STEERING LOCKED AND THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED, DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, REPAIRED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. *AK
MY DAUTHER WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 M.P.H. AND THE TRANSMATION WENT OUT. IT GAVE NO SINE OF IT GOING OUT. SHE WAS BARALY ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER CARS *AK
ENGINE BRACE IS BOLTED AND NOT WELDED. THE BOLTS RUSTED OUT, AND THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION FELL TO THE GROUND. FORD MOTOR CO. IS UNAWARE OF THE PROBLEM, TRANSMISSION SHOP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE DROPPED FROM VEHICLE DUE TO RUSTED ENGINE MOUNTS. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN INJURY HAD I BEEN UNABLE TO PULL OVER ON THE BUSY FREEWAY THAT I WAS ON.
GASKET IN AXODE TRANSMISSION DETERIORATED, BLOCKING LUBRICATION TO PLANTARY GEARS. GEARS DESTROYED DUE TO LACK OF LUBICATION. FOR REFUSES TO DISCUSS MATTER.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO MAKE STRANGE NOISES, AND THE LEFT FRONT AXLE LOCKED UP. DEALER HAS REPAIRED VEHICLE. *AK
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS GOING AT SPEEDS OF 60-70 MPH THE VEHICLE SHAKES AND THE ODOMETER DROPS, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
AXOD TRANSMISSION FAIL. THESE TRANSMISSIONS FAIL TOO SOON. FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE.
WHILE DRIVING THE BODY MOUNTS AT THE REAR CORNERS OF THE SUB-FRAME, WHICH SUPPORTS THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, DETACHED DUE TO CORROSION OF THE MOUNT RETAINING PLATE. VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN RECALL # 93V106002. *AK
VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, PRESSED THE BRAKE AND PUT THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, RESULTING IN A CRASH. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
