WHILE PERFORMING A VISUAL INSPECTION UNDER THE HOOD, CONSUMER STATES' THERE WAS A POOL OF POWER STEERING FLUID DOWN ON FRAME OF VEHICLE. TOOK TO DEALER AND DEALER STATED THE POWER ASSIST PUMP NEEDED REPLACING. FIVE MONTHS LATER CONSUMER NOTICED SAME TYPE OF LEAK AGAIN. CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FRUTHER INFORMATION. TS

I WAS INVOLVED IN A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT. A VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND I STRUCK HIS RIGHT SIDE WITH MY FRONT. NEITHER FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYED. DT
CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING 55MPH HAD A ACCIDENT THE CAR SPUN AROUND 3 TIMES AND HIT A TREE AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING INJURIES. NLM
ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2002 I WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT. A SATURN TURNED DIRECTLY INTO MY VEHICLE'S PATH. I WAS TRAVELING AT APROXIMATELY 40MILES PER HOUR AND HIT THE SATURN ON THE LEFT FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. MY CAR THEN LEFT THE ROADWAY AND HIT A TREE HEAD ON. THE ENTIRE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS DAMAGED AND PUSHED BACK. THE SATURN'S AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, MY AIR BAGS DID NOT. BOTH CARS WERE TOTALED. I WAS DRIVING A 2001 FORD TAURUS THAT I HAD PURCHASED TWO MONTHS AGO AS A PROGRAM CAR. THE STEERING WHEEL OF THE AUTO WAS WARPED AND MY RIGHT BREAST WAS DAMAGED. I SPENT 5 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL DUE TO THE DAMAGE TO MY BREAST RESULTING IN INTERNAL BLEEDING, WHICH REQUIRED BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS. IT HAS BEEN ONE YEAR AND MY BREAST STILL HASN'T HEALED, AND I MAY BE PERMANTLY DISFIGURED FROM THIS ACCIDENT. MY DAUGHTER, SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, OBTAINED A NECK INJURY THAT REQUIRED SURGERY AND 9 MONTHS OF PHYSICAL THERAPY. SHE STILL HAS PROBLEMS WITH HER NECK. MY GRANDSON WAS IN THE BACKSEAT AND WAS TREATED AND RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL. *LA
I HAD A ACCIDENT, IN TRAFFIC, I WAS STRUCK BY A TRUCK IN THE REAR AT A STAND STILL, THE TRUCK WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 50+MPH, MY DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE, PUTTING THE WEIGHT OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT PRESSING MY BODY AGANST THE SAFETY BELT. THE DRIVER'S SEAT WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE BRACKET/AND OR FLOOR BROKE LOOSE ON IMPACT.*AK
CAR STALLED/SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. CAR WOULD NOT START UNTIL AFTER IT SAT FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES. DEALER SERVICE FOUND NO CODES IN THE COMPUTER. I AM WORRIED THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN IN A MORE DANGEROUS SITUATION SUCH AS FREEWAY DRIVING RESULTING IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND INJURIES.*AK
WHEN CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES SUDDENLY, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, WHICH CAUSED CONSUMER TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. *JG *JB
CONSTANT WATER LEAK ON DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR, ANYTIME IT RAINS OR IS WASHED. BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT RESULTS. COOLANT LEAK, AIR BAG SENSOR COMES ON OCCASIONALY.
VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN AT A FULL STOP AT RED LIGHT. IT WAS NECESSARY TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION TO DISENGAGE. VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO AND LEFT AT FORD DEALERSHIP AS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.*AK
DT: 2001 FORD TAURUS IS HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING, ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH STALLING . THE VEHICLE WILL START BACK UP, BUT THE CONSUMER HAS TO SHAKE AND TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR. CONSUMER HAS TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT FIND CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. THAT IS WHY THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES. FIRST TIME THE STARTER WAS CHANGED. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED FORD MOTORS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD THE CONSUMER TO BRING BACK THE CAR SO THEY CAN EXAMINE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. SLOW SPEEDS AND TURNING ARE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STALLING OUT. THE CONSUMER DOES NOT THINK THAT THE MOTOR IS THE PROBLEM, THAT IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.*AK
NHTSA# 15190 01-F-071-000 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LOOSE THIRD GEAR OPERATION. CONSUMER STATES HAVING PROBLEM WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHICH BROKE ON AUGUST 8, 2002. DEALER CHARGED OVER TWO THOUSANDS DOLLARS, FOUR MONTHS LATER VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC CONSUMER NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, AND THE VEHICLE HESITATED. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OUT OF TRAFFICS ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS A FUEL RAIL FAILURE WHICH LEAKED FUEL ONTO THE MANIFOLD.*AK
CONSUMER EXPERINCING SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE. DOOR OUT OF ALIGNMENT 3 TIMES, GA GAUGE NOT WORKING AND REPLACE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS 4 TIMES.
WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN VEHICLE ACCELERATES TO 25/35MPH IF FOOT IS REMOVED FROM GAS PEDAL, VEHICLE WILL NOT DECREASE IN SPEED UNTIL BRAKES ARE APPLIED.CONTACTED DEALER.*AKCONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE FOR INSPECTION TO TWO DEALERS WHO BOTH INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING FINE. THEY FURTHER EXPLAINED THAT THE SPEED PROBLEM IS CHARACTERISTIC FO THE 2000 THRU 2002 TAURUS. *JG
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE FRONT RIGHT TIRES SUDDENLY EXPLODED AND HAD GONE FLAT IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HIT A CURB, STONE, OR ANY SHARP OBJECTS, AND IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TIRE ITSELF THAT CAUSED THE INTERNAL DAMAGE WHETHER OVER A PERIOD OF TIME OR RAPIDLY. CONSUMER IS AWARE OF THE HISTORY OF SUCH INCIDENTS WITH CONTINENTAL TIRES, AND WOULD LIKE FOR CONTINENTAL TIRES TO REPLACE THE TIRES WITH ANOTHER BRAND, DUE TO THEIR LACK OF RELIABILITY AND CONCERN OVER HIS FAMILY'S SAFETY. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOYED IN A FRONTAL IMPACT CRASH. THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE AT TIME OF IMPACT WAS 45 MPH. THERE WAS PRE-IMPACT BRAKING. THE OCCUPANT WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.
THE TIRE SPLIT APART ON THE SIDEWALL WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30MPH. I IMMEDIATLY COASTED IN TO A PARKING LOT OF A TIRE SHOP. I CALLED MIDDLEKAUF FORD AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. NO TREAD WEAR ETC. MIDDLEKAUF SAID THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE PRICE OF THE TIRE IF I HAD IT REPLACED. I DID SO, AND UPON PRESENTING MIDDLEKAUFF WITH THE TIRE AND THE RECEIPT FROM THE TIRE SHOP, THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THEIR AGREEMENT. THERE IS NO EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE TIRE, AND I STILL HAVE IT IN MY POSSESION IF YOU NEED IT FOR RESEARCH.*AK

WHILE DRIVING ANTI- LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED WHEN APPLIED, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.CONTACTED DEALER.*AK THE LEFT FRONT DOOR WOBBLES WHEN OPENING, CONSUMER STATES THE TRUNK LID WOULD OPEN WHILE DRIVING, CONSUMER STATES REAR OF VEHICLE BOTTOMS OUT WHEN THERE ARE AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE, THE SPEAKERS WERE GIVING A BAD RECEPTION.*JB
WE WERE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND IN I-25 AT LAS VEGAS, NM. A VEHICLE TRAVELING THE OPPOSITE HAD LOST CONTROL, PASSED THE MEDIAN ,AND DISABLED AT THE RIGHT LANE WE WERE TRAVELING. IT WAS RAINING HARD AND I DID NOT HAVE THE CHANCE TO AVOID IT. I HAD SLAMMED MY BRAKES, SKIDDED AND HIT THE DISABLED VEHICLE. THE DAMAGE IN MY VEHICLE WAS MORE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. BOTH FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AT THE TOWING COMPANY, THEY TRIED TO START IT AND NOTICED AIRBAG LIGHT CAMED ON AND FLASHING. IT SEEMS AIRBAGS ACTIVATED AFTER THE IMPACT BUT DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK

ENGINE RACES TO 3500-4500 RPM WITH FOOT OFF OF ACCELERATOR AND USUALLY WHILE ON BRAKE, HOT OR COLD, IN OR OUT OF GEAR, WHILE DRIVING, STOPPED, OR PARKED. HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PEDAL SPACING, HAS OCCURRED OFTEN ENOUGH TO VERIFY THAT FOOT WAS EITHER COMPLETELY OFF ACCELERATOR OR COMPLETELY ON BRAKES. OCCURS RANDOMLY AND WITHOUT WARNING, USUALLY AROUND 40 MPH IN CITY STYLE DRIVING. HAS BEEN SERVICED THREE (3) TIMES, HAS NOT BEEN DUPLICATED BY FORD SERVICE TECHS, NOR HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED. HAPPENS BOTH WITH THE SPEED CONTROL CABLE ATTACHED OR DETACHED FROM THE THROTTLE BODY. PEDAL IS NOT JAMMING ON FLOOR MAT OR ANY OTHER FOOTWELL OBSTRUCTIONS. HAS OCCURRED WHILE STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT, REQUIRED EXTREME BRAKING EFFORT TO KEEP VEHICLE STATIONARY, RESOLVED WHEN ACCELERATOR DEPRESSED ON GREEN LIGHT. HAS ALSO OCCURRED DRIVING INTO NEIGHBORHOOD, RODE BRAKES UNTIL I GOT TO MY DRIVEWAY WHERE HEAVY BRAKING WAS APPLIED AND CAR PUT IN PARK AND IGNITION QUICKLY TURNED OFF. DURING DRIVE THRU NEIGHBORHOOD WHILE ENGINE RACING WAS OCCURING, NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO RESOLVE PROBLEM BY PUTTING VEHICLE IN NUETRAL, BUT HAD NO EFFECT. VEHICLE WAS REENTERED AFTER SITTING IN DRIVEWAY FOR APPROX 30-60 MINUTES. BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, IGNITION TURNED ON, FOOT REMAINED ON BRAKE TO PUT VEHICLE IN REVERSE, IMMEDIATLEY UPON PUTTING VEHICLE IN REVERSE THROTTLE RACED AND THREW VEHICLE 1.5-2 CAR LENGTHS BACKWARDS BEFORE CONTORL WAS RESUMED BY FIRMLY APPLYING BRAKES. DURING THIS INCIDENT, FOOT WAS NEVER REMOVED FROM BRAKE PEDAL. CAR QUICKLY SHUT OFF, AND SCENARIO WAS REPEATED BY FATHER, CAR BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL AGIAN, AND PROBLEM RESOLVED BY APPLYING ACCELARATOR WHILE IN NEUTRAL. OTHER INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURED WHILE REMOVING FOOT FROM ACCELARATOR AND COASTING. OBVIOUSLY IT IS NOT ALWAYS SAFE TO RESOLVE PROBLEM BY ACCELERATING, AND IS AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM.
IGNITION KEY SWITCH LOCKS EVERY TIME WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED. (SERVICE BULLETINS#012113-627-1SB6274). *AK WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED THE START POSITION IT DID NOT TURN BACK TO THE RUN POSITION. AFTER THE CONSUMER REFUELED THE VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED INTO TRAFFIC, THE KEY RELEASED ALL THE WAY TO THE OFF POSITION.*TS *JB
1.NORMAL DRIVING , WINDOW STARTING TO FOG UP. TURN ON DEFROSTER. 2. INSTANTLY TOTAL LOSS OF VISABILITY BECAUSE OF WINDSHIELD BEING COVERED WITH HEAVEY FOG 3.NOTHING DONE, I THOUGHT I MUST HAVE HAD SOMETHING SET WRONG IN THE HEATER/ DEFROSTER BUTTONS. I PULLED OVER TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT SETTINGS AND WINDOW EVENTUALLY CLEARED. (THIS FOG WAS TO THE DEGREE THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE STARTED ON MY TRIP UNTIL I CLEARED THE WINDSHIELD IF IT HAD BEEN LIKE THAT WHEN I GOT INTO THE VEHICLE) I HAVE NEVR BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN OR ANY WAY TO PREVENT IT. IT IS HOWEVER VERY DANGEROUS . EVEN AFTER THE FOG HAS OCCURED, IT IS DIFFICULT TO GET IT TO CLEAR QUICKLY. IT CAN HAPPEN WHEN THE CAR IS COLD OR VERY WARMED UP.I HAD TO PUT IN A SPEED BUT THIS IS TRULY IRRELEVANT.
