WHILE DRIVING AND UPON USING BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS, CONSUMER'S FOOT GETS STUCK. HOWEVER, THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION REGARDING THE PEDAL SEPARATION. *AK CONSUMER ADDS THAT HER HUSBAND HAS A SIZE 14 FOOT WHICH GETS CAUGHT FREQUENTLY IN BETWEEN THE PEDALS. *TT
TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS PROPERLY, CAUSING VEHICLE TO JERK. ONCE VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO PROPER GEAR, THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE PRESENT. DRIVER CHECKED UNDER VEHICLE, AND OIL WAS LEAKING. DEALER SAID TRANS AXLE WAS NOT LUBRICATING WHEEL AND DRIVESHAFT CAUSED THE NOISE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING OFF A LOT STEERING WHEEL STATRTED MAKING A WHINING NOISE. DEALER REPLACED RACK AND PINION TWICE, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
IGNITION SYSTEM DID NOT RETURN TO RUN POSITION/ WINDSHIELD WIPERS / OTHER SUSTEMS WOULDN'T WORK. *AK
BRAKE PEDAL AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL ARE TOO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. I WAS COMING TO A STOP AND HAD MY WORK BOOTS ON, PUT MY FOOT ON I GUESS BOTH THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR, CAUSING ME TO BUMP THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. NO INJURIES, BUT NEVERLESS A JOLT.*AK

NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 02V266000 BRAKE PEDAL; THIS VEHICLE IS OUTSIDE THE REMEDY SCOPE AND THE VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT THE RECALL EXHIBITS. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. MR
THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT AND FAILED TO STOP WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED. AS THE RESULT OF THE BRAKES FAILURE, THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS INJURED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. *YH
THE CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ENGINE HAD A LACK OF BREAKING, A MALFUNCTION IN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING, THE LEFT FRONT WINDOW HAD LOCKED, THE SWITCH CAUSED THE STARTER TO BECOME INOP/REMAIN IN POWER, AND THE IGNITION SWITCH LOCKED IN THE START POSITION. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *SCC

WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, HIS FOOT BECAME STUCK BETWEEN THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDAL, CONSUMER LOSS CONTROL BUT WAS ABLE TO GET FOOT OUT AND COME TO A SAFE STOP. CONSUMER BELIEVED THE PEDALS WERE DESIGNED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER.*JB
THE TRUNK LID BRACKET FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE SPRING TO COME OUT. *JB
FAST IDLE SPEED IMMEDIATELY GOES TO RACE TRACK MODE WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED FROM A COLD START. WHEN BACKING, ONE MUST TAKE FOOT OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL TO PREVENT A FAST IDLE OR LOSE CONTROL. MR SCC
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHICH COULD MEAN THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE CONSUMERS SEAT WAS DAMAGED FROM THE SEAT BEING REMOVED TO CORRECT THE RECALL. *NLM

CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DIRECTION LIGHTS. EVERY TIME DIRECTION LIGHTS KEEP ON BURNING . DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED, AND DEALER WILL ONLY FIX IT, AND A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER THEY GO OUT AGAIN.*AK
2001 FORD TAURUS 4 DOOR SEDAN.*MR THERE WAS A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN THE CONSUMER MOVED THE GEAR SHIFT SELECTOR FROM PARK TO ANOTHER GEAR POSITION. THE LOCK CYLINDER IN THE IGNITION WAS FROZEN, THE RADIO WAS INOPERATIVE, AND THE DOOR PANELS WERE REMOVED TO CLEAN THE WINDOW RUNS..*TS. THE REAR DRUM ASSEMBLY WAS CRACKED AND PITTED. *JB
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS. HAS CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY HAVE NOT TRIED TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. *AK
CONSUMER STATED WHILE TRAVELING AT AT NORMAL SPEEDS TRIED "TO AVOID HITTING A DEER, CONSUMER SLAMMED FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL, FOOT GOT STUCK BETWEEN THE GAS PEDAL AND BRAKE PEDAL, LOST CONTROL AND HIT A MAIL BOX. VEHICLE WAS AIR BORNE, LANDING IN A NEIGHBOR'S YARD. NONE OF THE VEHICLES AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
WHEN AT A STOP VEHICLE STILL WILL MOVE SLIGHTLY AND JERK THE BRAKES WASN'T RIGHT. THE CAR WAS SENT TO THE DEALER SHIP TWICE AFTER AND THEY COULDN'T FIND THE CAUSE AFTER TALKING TO THE SERVICE DIRECTOR THE BRAKES ARE BETTER NOW. *AK *CB
CONSUMER STATES THAT FRONT END OF VEHICLE SHUTTERS AND SHAKES WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. CAUSE UNIKNOWN. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH 2001 FORD TAURUS BRAKE ROTORS.*MR THE FRONT END VIBRATED AND THE BRAKE ROTORS WERE REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. FORD WAS ORDERED TO REPAIR ALL REPAIRS BUT THEY ONLY TURNED THE ROTORS. *PH ALSO THE PASSENGER WINDOW DRAGGED, THE LIGHTS DIMMED WHEN THE RADIO OR HEATER WAS ON, AND ALSO THE TRANSMISSION JERKED AT TIMES AND THERE WAS A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC STATED IT WAS DUE TO TIRE WEAR. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS A DEFECT IN THE BRAKE FOOT PEDAL/STOP LAMP OCCURRED AND DRAINED THE BATTERY.*AK
THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME DEFECT WITH ITS FUEL TANK AS STATED IN RECALL 97 V 144 000, BUTTHIS VEHICLE NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL DUE TO VIN. VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN THE WAYNE PLANT, AND IN THE SAME MONTH AS STATED IN THE RECALL, BUT NOT IN ONE OF THE STATES LISTED. *AK
PROBLEM WITH ENGINE FAILURE. *MR THE CONSUMER'S SERVICE DEALER HAD BEEN UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE FAILURE. THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL (FRONT WHEEL WAS CHOPPED), AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. *SCC VARIOUS COMPONETS WERE REPLACED, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL. *SCC *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT OR DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER BRAKES FAIL TO RESPOND. THE BRAKE PEDAL IS HARD, AND EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE IS NECESSARY TO PERFORM PROPERLY. *AK
THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE GAS PEDAL ARE TOO CLOSE, AND GAS PEDAL IS 1/2 INCH LOWER. WHEN STEPPING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL CONSUMER CAN HIT THE GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. DEALER STATES THERE CAN BE NO MODIFICATIONS BECAUSE OF DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS.*AK
THE SPRINGS THAT SURROUND THE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBERS BROKE AND PUNCTURED THE FRONT TIRE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM
