I BOUGHT A 2005 FORD TAURUS ON NOV, 29, 2005. APPROX.. 1 MONTH AFTER BUYING IT, THE BRAKES BEGAN TO SQUEAK. IT HAS CUT OUT WHEN GOING UP A HILL, AND IT LUNGES FORWARD SLIGHTLY WHEN PARKING AND TAKING THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM 2 TIMES. THEY SAY THE BRAKE PROBLEM CAME FROM MANUFACTURING WITH THE 2005 MODEL AND THAT THEY DID NOT FIND ANY OTHER PROBLEMS AS I HAVE DESCRIBED. THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THE SQUEAK OF THE BRAKES, THAT IT WAS FORD MOTOR COMPANY'S FAULT FOR PUTTING THE BRAKES ON THAT THEY DID. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS IMPACTED IN THE FRONT END ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE STERNUM AND HEAD AREA. THE PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE WERE ALL WEARING SAFETY RESTRAINTS WHICH PROHIBITED ANY FURTHER INJURIES. THE POLICE WERE AT THE SCENE AND FILED A WRITTEN REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND DEEMED TOTALED.
ON THE 1ST START OF THE DAY (EVERY DAY), FOR ONE-TWO MINUTES, WHEN I PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR WILL MOVE SLIGHTLY FORWARD. THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE AREA, AND THE RPMS DECREASE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. THIS OCCURS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. THE DEALER HAD AN ENGINEER FROM FORD LOOK AT IT SAID HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT, BUT TRIED OTHER TAURUS AND SAW THE SAME PROBLEM. *JB
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT SPORADICALLY WHILE DRIVING THE 2005 FORD TAURUS WITH 28,000 FAILURE MILEAGE AT ANY RATE OF SPEED, AND ATTEMPTING TO COME TO A STOP THE VEHICLE SURGES FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP, BUT THE DEALER COULDN'T FIND ANY FAILURES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,700.*AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT AND WOULD LIKE FOR TO LOOK INTO A RECALL FOR TO FIX POTENTIAL DEFECT. UPDATE 4/25/07*TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER IT RAINED WATER WOULD LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE ON THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *TR
ON 10/28/05 I RENTED A FORD TAURUS AT THE AIRPORT IN SAVANNAH, GEORGIA WHILE VACATIONING IN HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA. ON 10/30/05 I WAS DRIVING WESTBOUND IN THE SLOW LANE ON U.S. 278, A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY DIVIDED BY A 40 -60 FT GRASS DIVIDER IN ROUTE TO BEUFORD S.C. MY SPEED WAS ABOUT 50 -55 MPH WITH A POSTED LIMIT OF 55 MPH. ABOUT 150 FEET IN FRONT OF ME, I CAUGHT A GLIMPSE OF A VEHICLE (2002 KIA) LEAVING THE DRIVEWAY OF THE ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH DIRECTLY IN THE PATH OF MY VEHICLE. I APPLIED THE BRAKES HARD, SWERVED TO THE LEFT IN AN EFFORT TO STEER AROUND THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKES OF THE TAURUS LOCKED UP AND I LEFT ABOUT 60 FEET OF SKID MARKS ON THE ROADWAY AT WHICH TIME I HIT THE KIA BROADSIDE AT THE DRIVER'S DOOR. I WOULD ESTIMATE MY SPEED AT THE TIME OF THE COLLISION TO BE ABOUT 25 - 30 MPH. THE KIA CROSSED THE DIVIDER AND TWO EASTBOUND LANES PRIOR TO STOPPING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ROADWAY SHOULDER. AT THE TIME OF THE COLLISION NEITHER MY AIR BAG NOR MY WIFE'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED. MY WIFE SUFFERED INJURIES TO HER SHOULDER, NECK AND KNEE. I SUFFERED INJURIES TO LEFT WRIST AND RIGHT UPPER ARM. THE FEMALE DRIVER OF THE KIA WAS AIRLIFTED TO SAVANNAH, GEORGIA FOR TREATMENT AND WAS STILL IN THE HOSPITAL ACCORDING TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY ON 11/9/05. THE MALE PASSENGER WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO SAVANNAH ALSO BUT I AM UNAWARE OF HIS CONDITION. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE AND OTHER MODELS OF THIS NATURE NEED TO BE EXAMINED. THIS INFORMATION WAS NOTED ON THE ACCIDENT FORM I PREPARED FOR AVIS RENTALS AT HILTON HEAD S.C. ON 10/30/05. *NM
ON OCTOBER 28,2005 I WAS VACATIONING IN HILTON HEAD S.C. I RENTED A 2005 FORD TAURUS FROM AVIS RENTAL AT THE SAVANNAH GEORGIA AIRPORT. ON OCTOBER 30, AT APPROXIMATELY 10:40 AM I WAS PROCEEDING WESTBOUND ON U.S. 278 TOWARD HIGHWAY 170. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 50 - 55 MPH IN A 55 MPH ZONE. AT THAT TIME A 2002 KIA 4 DOOR CAME OFF PRIVATE PROPERTY OF THE ST. GREGOREY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH ACROSS THE TWO WESTBOUND LANES. I ACTIVATED THE BRAKES AND SWERVED TO MISS THE VEHICLE HOWEVER WE COLLIDED. MY VEHICLE HIT THEIRS BROADSIDE AT MY ESTIMATE OF 25 - 30 MPH AT IMPACT. THE IMPACT WAS TO THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THEIR VEHICLE. AT THE TIME OF THE COLLISION, THE ANTI- LOCK BRAKES ON MY VEHICLE LOCKED SO I WAS UNABLE TO STEER OUT OF THE PATH OF THE KIA. AT THE TIME OF THE COLLISION NEITHER THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON MY VEHICLE. THE DRIVER OF THE KIA WAS AIRLIFTED TO SAVANNAH, GEORGIA AND HER HUSBAND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE SAME HOSPITAL BY GROUND AMBULANCE. MY WIFE WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO CAROLINA COASTAL HOSPITAL IN BLUFFTON, S.C. I SENT THIS INFORMATION ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO BUT HAVE HAD NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF IT BEING RECEIVED SO I AM RESUBMITTING IT. *JB
DT: THE CONSUMERS 2005 FORD TAURUS DOES NOT HAVE A KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM. THE ONLY WAY TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE IS WITH THE KEY LOCK, ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE CONSUMERS ARE CONCERNED BECAUSE OF THEIR GRANDCHILD. *SC UPDATED 11/2/2005 - *NM
FORD FFV TAURUS VIN 1FAFP53255A 195410 CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW 9-06-05 CAR WON'T START PROPERLY ON E-85 EVEN THOUGH CAR IS ADVERTISED AS E-85 FLEX FUEL CAPABLE. FORD MOTOR HAS SAID THEY ARE WORKING ON REPAIR FOR THE PROBLEM. *JB
THE CAR WILL ACCELERATOR ON ITS OWN WHEN YOUR FOOT IS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CRUISE IS NOT ON. WHEN PLACING THE CAR IN PARK THE RPM WILL GO UP TO 4000 PLACE BACK IN DRIVE AND THERE IS A LOUD THUD FROM THE ENGINE. FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES GO DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR AND LITERALLY CAUSES THE BRAKES TO BURN UP. I HAVE GONE THREW A NEW SET OF PADS IN A MONTH DUE TO THIS ISSUE. *TR
DT: THE CONTACT STATES THERE WAS A POPPING NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEN TURNING. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND WHERE THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM. HOWEVER THE SUSPENSION WORKED ERRATICALLY. THERE WAS A TEAR WHERE THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG WAS LOCATED ,AND THE LIGHT INDICATES IT WAS OFF. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNAWARE THAT THERE WAS A TEAR UNDER THE AIRBAG AND WHY IT HAPPENED. ALSO, THEY DID NOT CHECK TO SEE IF THERE WAS AN AIRBAG IN THE VEHICLE.*AK
WE BOUGHT AN 05 FORD TAURUS IN JUNE OF 05. THE CAR HAS A POOR VENTILATION SYSTEM. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CONTROL PANEL KNOB TO MAX A/C TO CUT OUTSIDE AIR FROM GETTING INTO THE CAR. OTHERWISE IF WANT HEAT OR A/C YOU HAVE TO BREATHE POLLUTED AIR INTO THE CABIN OF THE CAR. THIS A HEALTH HAZARD AND DESIGN FLAW IN THIS VEHICLE. THEIR HAVE BEEN NO ACCIDENTS, DEATHS, CRASHES, FIRES, PROPERTY DAMAGE, BUT POSSIBLE HEALTH PROBLEMS FROM BREATHING IN OUTSIDE VEHICLE EXHAUST WHICH I THINK IS VERY HAZARDOUS AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FORD AND IT'S DESIGN TEAM. PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO MAKE THIS COMPANY RESPONSIBLE TO THEIR CUSTOMER'S. *NM
WINDSHIELD HAZY, CLOUDY LOOKING WHILE DRIVING. CLEANED WINDSHIELD THINKING IT WAS DIRTY OR HAZED OVER FROM ROAD DUST. THIS WAS NOT NOTICEABLE FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER VERY NOTICEABLE FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. *AK
2005 FORD TAURUS SE WATER CONTINUES TO LEAK ONTO PASSENGER'S FLOOR BOARD. WHEN IT RAINS WATER COMED THROUGH FIREWALL AND BLOWER MOTOR, AFTER ONE ATTEMPT TO REPAIR WATER STILL WAS COMING IN TO THE VEHICLE. FORD SHOULD RECALL ALL 2005 FORD TAURUS WITH THIS PROBLEM, SERVICE REPAIR FOLLOWED TECHANICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FROM 2001 THRU 2003 MODEL YEAR, WATER PROBLEM NOT FIXED. , FORD SHOULD RECALL THE 2005 FORD TAURUS SE. *AK
I HAVE A 2005 FORD TAURUS SE, WATER IS DRIPPING ONTO THE PASSENGER FLOOR THROUGH THE BLOWER MOTOR, ( WHEN IT RAINS ) FORD SHOULD RECALL OR FIX THIS PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY, OR BUY BACK THE VEHICLE. *TR
PURCHASED A 2005 FORD TAURUS A YEAR AGO AND HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS.. OVER THE 36,000 MILE BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY, SO CALLED DEALERSHIP AND WAS TREATED VERY DISRESPECTFUL. CALLED FORD AND NO HELP FROM THEM EITHER. *JB
MY 2005 FORD TAURUS SEL WITH 90,XXX MILES ON IT HAD ITS TRANSMISSION FAIL. IT IS STILL IN THE SHOP BEING REPAIRED, BUT AT THIS POINT THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND PUMP NEED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD BY THE FORD SERVICE MANAGER THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT FORD IS AWARE OF BUT IS NOT DOING NOTHING ABOUT. I WILL BE OUT A MINIMUM OF $1,800 FOR A PROBLEM FORD KNOWS ABOUT, BUT DOES NOTHING TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. ALL OF MY MILES ARE INTERSTATE MILES AND THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF IN EVERY WAY. I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY SIDE STREET ROAD AND IT WAS LIKE THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL. IT WILL NOT GO INTO ANY GEAR. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO MY DRIVEWAY. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE HAS HAD TO FIX SEVERAL OF THESE AND I TALKED WITH A LOCAL TRANSMISSION MECHANIC AND HE AGREED THAT HE, TOO, HAS HAD TO WORK ON THIS MODEL AND YEAR. FORD NEEDS TO OWN UP AND HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH THIS PROBLEM AND WITH TODAY'S ECONOMY AND ALL THAT IS GOING ON, I NEED HELP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. SHE HAD TO SHIFT INTO PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED CONTINUOUSLY SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN 2005. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER OVER FIVE TIMES. THEY STATED THAT A "GHOST" WAS CAUSING THE FAILURE AND COULD NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
GAS TANK SENDING UNIT ARE NOT CALIBRATED. GAS GAUGE ARE NOT ACCURATE, NEEDLE ALWAYS GOES TO 7/8TH OFTANK OF GAS, SOMETIMES TO 3/4 OF A TANK. THIS CAR IS A 2005 TAURUS SE

DT: 2005 FORD TAURUS SHOCKED THE CONSUMER EVERYTIME HE EXITED EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO APPLIED A WAX COATING TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING. THE WAX APPLICATION DID NOT HELP SO THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER TO SPRAY THE VEHICLE WITH STATIC GUARD. THE SEAT WERE SPRAYED SEVERAL TIMES WITH STATIC GUARD BUT THIS DID NOT HELP. THE DEALER DID NOT KEEP RECORD OF ANY SERVICE DATES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN CONTACTED WHO THEN CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER. THEY DID START A CASE AS OF 5/4/05 (CASE NO. 5EDN4008) AND STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED HEALTH ISSUES. *NM
AS SOON AS THE WEATHER COOLS IN THE FALL MY CAR SPEEDS UP ON ITS OWN, SOMETIMES I HAVE HAD TO HAVE ONE FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL AND ONE ON THE BRAKE. THIS IS DANGEROUS. I TRY TO GET A RIDE WITH SOMEONE ELSE, BUT I NEED IT FIXED AND I BELIEVE THE CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR

2005 FORD TAURUS WITH A STICKING ACCELERATOR PEDAL, OR THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGING WHEN NOT TURNED ON. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD GO FROM 45 MPH TO 70 MPH IN LESS THAN 1/4 OF A MILE WITHOUT APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR. THE RIGHT REAR STRUT, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED. *JB
