1) WHEN MAKING A SHARP TURN AT LOW SPEEDS THERE IS A HARD KNOCKING SOUND IN THE FRONT END. 2). THE CLIMATE CONTROL TURNS ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. UNSAFE ON COLD DAYS WHEN TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 30 DEGREES. VICE VERSA IN THE SUMMER WHEN TEMP IS ABOVE 90 DEGREES.
ON 31 OCTOBER 2019, I WAS BACKING MY CAR INTO MY GARAGE AND THE CAR STEERING LOCKED UP AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO MOVE THE CAR. A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED, AND I CALLED THE DEALER TO DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM (I.E. GAVE CAR WARNING AND COULD BARELY TURN WHEEL OF CAR). DEALER TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR IN TO BE CHECKED. BECAUSE DEALER WAS CLOSE TO MY JOB, BUT FAR FROM MY HOME, I HAD CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RACK & PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD A FEW 2013 CARS HAD THE SAME ISSUE, BUT NO WORK HAS BEEN DONE ON ANY OTHER 2014 FORDS. I WAS ALSO TOLD THERE ARE NO WARNING SIGNS FOR THE ISSUE OR ANY PREVENTATIVE MEASURES THAT CAN BE TAKEN. THE CAR HAD 97,653 MILES WHEN ISSUE OCCURRED. I PAID TO HAVE THE WORK COMPLETED SINCE NO RECALLS ARE CURRENTLY LISTED/ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN AND THIS MECHANICAL STEERING ISSUE. I PAID A TOTAL OF 2,208.13 FOR THE REPAIRS RELATED TO THE ISSUE (REPLACEMENT OF PART, LABOR & RECALIBRATION OF THE PART).
WENT TO START CAR AGAIN AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 10MINUTES. WOULD NOT START. HIT THE START BUTTON AND NOTHING. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TRIED TO JUMP THE CAR, THINKING BATTERY. HOWEVER, NOTHING HAD TO GET A RIDE HOME AT 11PM IN THE RAIN AND TOWED IT INTO THE SHOP IN THE MORNING. STILL WAITING ON OUTCOME. FRAN K, OCALA FL
MY VEHICLE WILL INTERMITTENTLY SHUT OFF WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING, AND SOMETIMES WILL HESITATE TO EVEN CRANK. ALL FINGERS POINT TO THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE, WHICH I BELIEVE HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND THIS YEAR AND MODEL OF MY VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A FEW OCCASIONS.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the rear-view camera failed intermittently when the vehicle was shifted into reverse(R). There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the back over prevention camera needed to be repaired or replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 69,574.
CAR WILL CRANK BUT NOT START. NO ISSUES UNTIL THE NO START. IN A PARKING LOT AND WAS BACKING UP AND WHEN PUT IT IN DRIVE IT DIED. IT WOULD CRANK AND START FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN DIE. AND THEN IT STOPPED CRANKING. UNPLUGGED FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE AND THEN PLUGGED BACK IN AND STARTED FINE BUT WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED MONTROSE FORD LOCATED AT 3960 MEDINA RD, FAIRLAWN, OH 44333, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A BLOWN FUSE. THE FUSE WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE FUSE WAS REPLACED. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT TO PURCHASE THE SAME FUSE AND TO KEEP THEM IN THE VEHICLE TO REPLACE IF THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MECHANIC SHOWED THE CONTACT HOW TO REPLACE THE FUSE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9.
2014 FORD TAURUS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO POWER STEERING FAILURE AND REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION FOR VEHICLE MODEL. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY START. ON OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STALLED RANDOMLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CARMAX (16110 NORTH FWY, HOUSTON, TX) WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000.
FUEL PUMP RELAY OVERHEATED AND CAUGHT ON FIRE BEHIND BACK SEAT NEAR GAS TANK. PART MELTED AND VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE. TODDLER CAR SEAT WAS LOCATED IN FRONT OF FIRE LOCATION.
POSSIBLE FLAW IN MODEL'S STEERING ASSEMBLY DUE TO RECURRENCE OF SAME MALFUNCTION: STARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER STOPPING AT A GAS STATION, DROVE AT NEAR-IDLE SPEEDS, AND WITHIN A MINUTE THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT WITH A WARNING LIGHT (POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION AND TRACTION CONTROL FAILURE). BROUGHT TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED GEAR AND OTHER PARTS OF ASSEMBLY. COST FOR REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, AND ASSOCIATED REALIGNMENT WAS ~$1800 BUT WAS COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE SAME PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED IN THIS SAME CAR A FEW YEARS AGO WHILE DRIVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD (ABOUT 15 MPH); AT THAT TIME, THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING ASSEMBLY AND WAS COVERED BY FULL WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING ASSIST WAS FAULTY AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE MORE STRENGTH THAN NORMAL TO STEER THE VEHICLE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW POWER ASSIST UNIT NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE CONTACT CALLED ASTORG FORD (2028 7TH ST, PARKERSBURG, WV 26101, (304) 485-8585), BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 70MPH ON I-95 NORTHBOUND AT THAT TRIED TO SWITCH LANES AND MY STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY LOCKED!!!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN SCARED [XXX] AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
FIRST ISSUE: WHEN TRYING TO START MY CAR IT WOULD TURN OVER ABOUT 60 SECONDS AND THE INSIDE WOULD TURN ON SUCH AS DASH BUT ENGINE WOULD NOT START. STATIONARY SECOND ISSUE: TODAY 7/22/19 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE MY CAR JUST SHUT ITSELF OFF AS IF NOT GETTING ANY FUEL, COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT THANKFULLY IT WASNT RUSH HOUR. IN MOTION BEAUMONT TX - THEY SAID MY CAR DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL BUT ITS DOING THE SAME THING AS WHAT THE RECALL STATES.
AROUND JULY 09, 2019 MY POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. I CONTACTED FORD AFTER READING SEVERAL REVIEWS OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO OTHER 2014 FORD TAURUS SEL. FORD STATED THAT WHILE THE RECALL APPLIES TO OTHER 2014 TAURUS SEL, IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MINE. I HAD TO PAY $2300 AT ROY OBRIEN FORD TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED. FORD HAS REFUSED TO EXTEND THE RECALL TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE IN THIS RECALL. I AM REQUESTING HELP FROM THE NSHP AND THE DOT TO HELP ME PLEASE. ON OCTOBER 17, 2019 MY CAR CUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING AGAIN. THIS VERY DANGEROUS. IT WOULD NOT RESTART. MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND I WAS ADVISED THAT MY FUEL PUMP WENT OUT. AGAIN, THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP FOR 2013-2017 FORD TAURUS SEL BUT AGAIN ..MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED. I AM REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTTER IMMEDIATELY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE REVERSING OUT OF THE GARAGE, THE BACK UP CAMERA BECAME INOPERABLE. AN ERROR MESSAGE WHICH STATED CAMERA NOT AVAILABLE WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ARUNDEL FORD LOCATED AT 1561 PORTLAND RD, ARUNDEL, ME 04046, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE RESULT WAS INCONCLUSIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THIS IS ABOUT MY TRANSMISSION. IT IS DOING THE SAME GRINDING SOUNDS AS THE RECALLED FORD F150'S HOWEVER IT IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. MY CAR IS THE 2014 FORD TAURUS.
I TOOK MY 2014 FORD TAURUS POLICE INTERCEPTOR TO BOGGUS FORD IN HARLINGEN, TX. FOR A RECALL ON A FUEL PUMP SENSOR WHICH THE DEALER SAID WOULD COST NOTHING TO REPLACE. I HAD TO BUY THE PART AND INSTALL IT TO GET THE VEHICLE THERE. DUMB, I KNOW, BUT IT WAS CHEAPER THAN A TOW TRUCK AND I WANTED IT CORRECTED BY THE DEALER FOR SAFETY PURPOSES. DURING THE DRIVE THERE I NOTICED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON SO I REPORTED IT. I ALSO REPORTED TO THEM THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATES, OR JERKS, WHEN DRIVING AT LOW TO MODERATE SPEEDS. THEY CORRECTED THE RECALL AND CHARGED ME $145.00 FOR ANOTHER SENSOR THEY CLAIMED WAS CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON AND THE CAR TO JERK LIKE IT WAS. I DROVE OFF AND IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THE CAR WAS DOING THE SAME THING. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THEM AND THEY WAITED 2 DAYS TO TELL ME THAT THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND DRIVING JUST FINE AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING ELSE WRONG WITH THE MOTOR OR TRANSMISSION WHEN THEIR TECHNICIAN DROVE IT. I ASKED HIM TO RIDE WITH ME IN THE CAR AND AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF DRIVING HE HAD ME PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF SO THAT HE COULD "CLEAR ALL CODES WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION." THE PROBLEM CONTINUED SO THEY TALKED ME INTO TAKING THE CAR HOME TO "SEE IF ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON" DURING REGULAR USE. AFTER DOING SO, TO NO AVAIL, THEY SAID THAT THE PROBLEM WAS TRANSMISSION RELATED AND IT WOULD COST ANOTHER $100.00 JUST TO LOOK AT. I DON'T MIND PAYING THE FEE FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT I'M HESITANT TO TAKE IT BACK TO THEM IF I MAY BE CHARGED FOR ITEMS NOT RELATED TO THE ISSUE. I TOOK IT UPON MYSELF TO DO RESEARCH ONLINE AND I HAVE FOUND OTHERS WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM THAT TURNED OUT TO BE A SOLENOID IN THE TRANSMISSION. WONDERING WHY THIS PART HASN'T BEEN RECALLED IF IT COULD DEEM THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. ALSO, THERE IS NO DIPSTICK TO CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID OTHERWISE I WOULD HAPPILY CHECK IT MYSELF.
I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR JUST DROPPED DOWN TO ABOUT 10 MILES PER HOUR. IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN I PUSHED THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR SO I JUST WENT BACK TO MY JOB TO PARK BEFORE I GOT TO THE MAIN ROAD WHERE THE RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WAS.
The exact situation which is listed on this Ford recall has affected my Taurus. However, this issue is not connected with my VIN even though my window sticker says it was assembled in Chicago. The car would start and then stop, it would not start back up, or it would do a combination. It wasn't the same every time. The dealer I had work on my car replaced the fuel pump driver module and informed me about the recall but I was never able to get in touch with Ford. I have recently been able to connect with Ford and they said it wasn't associated with my VIN and there was nothing they could do or submit to try for reimbursement since it's been over 90 days from when the work was performed.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,150.
INCREASING DIFFICULTY STEERING CAR/LOSS OF POWER STEERING. STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT RETURN TO CENTER WHEN TURNING. MAJOR REPAIR COST. KNOW PROBLEM WITH 2011-2013 CARS BEING RECALLED, BUT NOT THE 2014 TAURUS WHICH ALSO HAS RECORDED COMPLAINTS ABOUT LOSS OF POWER STEERING THE MODEL. PROGRESSIVELY WORSE SINCE JANUARY/FEBRUARY.
THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT INTERMITTENTLY, IT SEEMS TO BE RECCURING PROBLEM, AS SOMETIMES IT WORKS AND OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T. ITS VERY UNPREDICTABLE AND DANGEROUS
SOMETIME IN MARCH 2019 MY CAR DIDNT WANT TO START.IT HAD BEEN PARKED OVER NIGHT AT MY HOUSE. I TRIED TO START IT AND IT JUST KEPT TURNING OVER BUT NO START. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. I WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS THE BATTERY. I WAS CHARGED ABOUT $185 TO BUY ANOTHER BATTERY. THE CAR WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL MAY 2, 2019 IT WAS PARKED AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AND HAD TO LEAVE IT THERE OVER NIGHT AND HAVE IT TOWED THE NEXT MORNING TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE WANTED TO CHARGE ME $400 TO GET IT REPLACED. MY ARGUEMENT IS I COULD OF SAVED $185 ON A BATTERY THAT DIDNT NEED REPLACING AND 2 MONTHS LATER THEY WANTED ME TO DITCH OUT MORE MONEY. I HAD TO ARGUEMENT WITH THEM FOR SEVERAL HOURS. TILL THE MANAGER SAID THAT THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE COST. BUT IT SHOULDNT HAD LEAD TO THAT. I KNOW SEVERAL FORD TAURUS HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT NOT MY VIN NUMBER. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY WHEN THEY ARE ALL FORDS TAURUS 2014 AND THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I WOULDNT OF SPEND $185 ON MONEY I DONT HAVE TO SPEND.
POWER TRANSFER SEALS LEAKING-(PTU)--COMMON PROBLEM FOR MANY YEARS ON 4WD FORD VEHICLES. SAFETY RELATED AS LEAKING TRANSMISSION AND GEAR OIL LEAK ONTO HOT EXHAUST MAKES SMOKE THAT ENTERS CABIN THRU HVAC SYSTEM. SHOULD BE A CAMPAIGN OR RECALL ACTION!!!!!
MY CAR SPUTTERED OUT THEN STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY
I ATTEMPTED TO START MY VEHICLE IN MY GARAGE. MOTOR WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START. I KNEW IT WAS A FUEL ISSUE, SO I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM. I CAME ACROSS AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PUMP RELAY ON 2013-2015 TAURUS, FLEX, AND INTECEPTORS. MOSTLY RELATED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLES AND CIVILIAN SUPER CHARGED ENGINES THAT HAD A RECALL FOR THIS FUEL PUMP RELAY MODULAR. MY TAURUS IS ONLY A SEL, AND I SAW WHERE MANY OTHER PEOPLE WERE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR EVERYDAY 2013-2015 FORD VEHICLE. THESE PEOPLE REPLACED THEIR OWN FUEL PUMP RELAY MODULE AND FIXED THEIR PROBLEM. I DECIDED TO TRY IT MYSELF. SURE ENOUGH; I, A SINGLE MOM ON A VERY FIXED INCOME, GETS A RIDE TO MY LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE, BUYS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY MODULE FOR $75.00, INSTALL THE PART MYSELF, AND IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM! THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON ALL OF THESE 2013-2015 FORD TAURUS'S SO PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF AND THE OTHER FEW I CAME ACROSS ONLINE CAN GET OUR MONEY BACK, AND PREVENT OTHERS FROM HAVING TO GO THROUGH THE PANIC OF HAVING ONLY ONE VEHICLE (THAT SHOULD BE VERY DEPENDABLE) THAT WON'T START. I CALLED FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT ISSUE ANY RECALL, THE RECALL HAD TO COME FROM NHTSA. I AM TRULY HOPING THAT SOMEONE AT THE NHTSA WILL ADDRESS THIS ISSUE ASAP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CIOCCA FORD OF QUAKERTOWN (LOCATED AT 321 S WEST END BLVD, QUAKERTOWN, PA 18951, (215) 536-8600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HOME AFTER A NIGHT OF OUT WITH FRIENDS, AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AS WE WERE GOING UP A SNOWY HILL IN TOWN. HE SLID FROM ONE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO THE OTHER. AFTER MAKING IT UP THE HILL, HE STOPPED AND PREPPED TO DRIVE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME WITH NO STEERING. WE ARE LUCKY TO LIVE IN A SMALLER AREA WITH VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC ON THE STREET WE TAKE HOME AND I AM THANKFUL HE DECIDED TO COME WITH ME THAT NIGHT AS I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE ENDED UP IN A TREE.

THE FOLLOWING DAY, WHILE DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
POWER STEERING PROBLEMS WITH HARD TURNING WHEN STARTING AND LEAVING PARKING SPOT, ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD. MECHANIC CHECKED AND SAID IT MIGHT BE STEERING SHAFT, A $600 REPAIR. RECALL FOR PREVIOUS YEAR (2011-2013) POWER STEERING PROBLEMS, BUT NOT 2014 DESPITE DOCUMENTED PROBLEMS IN THAT YEAR AS WELL. WOULD LIKE FORD TO FIX PROBLEM AT NO CHARGE TO ME GIVEN POWER STEERING PROBLEMS OCCUR WITH THIS CAR.

FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE WENT BAD. UNFORTUNATELY WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL.

DRIVING 40 MPH POWER STEERING WENT OUT ALMOST CAUSING CRASH OFF ROADWAY. AFTER REGAINING CONTROL, MOVED TO SHOULDER. TURNED OFF CAR, TURNED ON CAR, THEN WAS OK. THEN HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN LEAVING WORK - SENSORS ON AND NO RESET THIS TIME. HAD TO CAREFULLY LIMP IT HOME. TRIED REPLACING FUSE FOR STEERING - BUT DIDN'T WORK - WILL NEED TO GO TO DEALER. JUST WENT OUT TO GET PICTURE OF CODES - BUT IT'S WORKING AGAIN. SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG ELECTRICALLY!

ON THE WAY HOME AFTER BEING ON DUTY, A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON THAT READ "SERVICE ADVANCETRAK LOW". I RESET THE MESSAGE AND IT APPEARED AGAIN. I DEACTIVATED THE TRACTION CONTROL AND IT APPEARED TO BE FINE, PRIOR TO THAT THE STEERING WAS VERY UNRESPONSIVE AND APPEARED TO BE SLUGGISH. THE FOLLOWING AFTERNOON I GO TO GET IN CAR AND MESSAGE CAME ION DASH STATING "STEERING FAILURE" AND STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE. THE CAR IS BEING TOWED ON MONDAY OCTOBER 29 TO CLOSEST FORD DEALER. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM WITH SAME MODEL AND YEAR, AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS ISSUES THE SAME AS OUR POLICE CAR. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A POLICE CAR, WE ARE A SMALL TOWN AND THERE IS LITTLE TO NO AGGRESSIVE DRIVING.

MY CAR'S POWER STEERING SUDDENLY DEVELOPED A FAULT, SHOWING MESSAGE ON DASH "STOP SAFELY NOW" ALONG WITH A SIMULTANEOUS MESSAGE ABOUT SERVICING ADVANCETRAC. STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT. STEERING STILL WORKED, BUT CAR BECAME VERY HARD TO TURN (I AM NOT A SMALL MAN, AND IT WAS STILL DIFFICULT). I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (I WAS ON A LARGE CITY STREET TRAVELING ABOUT 45 MPH) AND STOP WITH SOME DIFFICULTY. POWER STEERING SEEMS TO HAVE COMPLETELY FAILED SPONTANEOUSLY.
