MY VAN STARTED MAKING A SCREECHING NOISE EVERYTIME WE MADE ANY TURNS, WE CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND IT WAS FINE. VAN SAT IN THE YARD CAUSE IT WAS EMBRASSING TO DRIVE WITH THE LOUD SCREECHING NOISE AND SINCE WE HAD A 2ND CAR WE JUST LEFT IT IN THE DRIVEWAY. THEN WHEN MY HUSBANDS CAR GOT HIT BY ANOTHER CAR WE HAD NO CHOICE AND HAD TO DRIVE IT. AS SOON AS WE TRY AND DRIVE IT OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WE NEW SOMETHING MAJOR IS WRONG IT TOOK 2 PEOPLE TO TURN THE WHEEL ON THE VAN JUST TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. SO I CALLED MY STEP DAD AND EXPLAINED WHAT IT WAS DOING AND HE SAID SOUNDS LIKE THE POWER STERRING PUMP WENT OUT ON IT SO WE TAKE IT TO A VERY RELIABLE MECHANIC AND FOUND OUT NOT ONLY IS THE POWER STERRING PUMP BAD THE RACK AND PINONS ARE GONE ALSO. I CAN'T BELIEVE WITH A VAN THAT IS NOT THAT OLD TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN SO QUICKLY. I HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS FORUMS ABOUT THE FORD WINDSTAR AND I SEE PAGES AND PAGES OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING I'M DEALING WITH NOW. WHAT DOES IT TAKE BEFORE A COMPANY STANDS BEHIND THERE PRODUCT AND ISSUE A RECALL.*AK
ELECTRICAL PROBLEM INVOLVING 10 AMP FUSE FOR AC, ABS, ODOMETER, SPEED SENSOR FOR TRANS, AND SEVERAL OTHER COMPONENTS. FUSE BLOWS CONSTANTLY. TOOK TO DEALER 3 TIMES. CLOCKSPRING REPLACED - 605.00, SPEED SENSOR IN TRANS - 300.00, USE OF 15 AMP FUSE ON THIRD VISIT - FUSE BLEW AFTER 7 DAYS. TO DATE, DEALER CANNOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. IT IS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE PARTS IN THE HOPE THAT THEY FIND IT, PLUS THE PROBLEM REMAINS. ARE THERE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND IS THERE A KNOWN FIX THAT THE DEALER IS UNAWARE OF? *JB
WHILE DRIVING A VAN FULL OF 6 YOUNG GIRLS TO A SPORTS PRACTICE, THE VAN STARTED JUMPING WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND ACCELERATING. WE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND THEN THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE IN DRIVE .SUDDENLY, IT JUMPED INTO DRIVE, ALL THE WHILE , MY CARFULL WERE VERY UPSET AND THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO CRASH. I BARELY MADE IT TO THE PRACTICE PARKING LOT. THE VAN WAS JUMPING THE WHOLE DRIVE. IT THEN STALLED IN THE DRIVEWAY. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON BUT THERE CAME A VERY LOUD, SCARY NOISE FROM THE ENGINE. I GOT IT ON, BUT IT WOULD NOT DRIVE IN DRIVE, ONLY IN NUETRAL. I HAD TO BE TOWED. IT WAS A MAJOR HASSLE. I CAME TO FIND THAT TH E TRANSMISSION HAD GONE AT 72,000 MILES. I HAD BEEN COMPLAINING TO THE DEALER THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ALWAYS ON. IT WAS EVALUATED AND THEY SAID IT WAS A SENSOR PROBLEM THAT ALL STARTED AT ABOUT 30,000 MILES. COME TO THINK OF IT, THE VAN "JUMPED FROM GEAR TO GESR SINCE DAY 1". FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL ALSO BE CONTACTED. IT SEEMS PRETTY FISHY THAT THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING.*AK
WHILE STOPPED AT RED LIGHT, OUR FORD WINDSTAR WAS REAR-ENDED BY A FORD FOCUS ESTIMATED TO BE GOING 50-60MPH. BOTH OF US IN THE FRONT SEATS SUFFERED SEVERE CALF MUSCLE INJURIES. WE BELIEVE THESE WERE CAUSED BY THE MANUAL SEAT ADJUSTMENT BAR THAT RUNS THE FULL WIDTH OF THE SEAT. WE WERE BOTH WEARING SEATBELTS. AN ADDITIONAL NOTE: THE DRIVER'S SEATBACK BROKE ON IMPACT.*AK IS THERE ANY HISTORY OF LEG TRAUMA CAUSED BY SEAT HARDWARE IN REAR-END COLLISIONS?
INTERIOR LIGHTING, RADIO,REAR A/C FAN WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN VEHICLE IS OFF AND KEY REMOVED. REAR FAN CONTINUES TO RUN, DRAINING BATTERY. THIS FAULT IS INTERMITTENT AND WAS SUPPOSEDLY RESOLVED BY THE DEALER( PLACE MOTORS , WEBSTER MA) REPLACING THE BATTERY LAST SPRING 2003. DID THE DEALERSHIPS REALLY FIX ANYTHING?? IT COST ME A NEW BATTERY TO FIND OUT. CHATTERING OF POWER RELAYS ALSO OCCURS . SIMILAR DESCRIPTION AS THE OTHER COMPLAINTS FOR INTERIOR LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. REAR A/C FAN WAS DISCONNECTED TO STOP BATTERY DRAIN. EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE WORSE ON RAINY DAYS. *JB
EXTERIOR BULB WARNING LIGHT CAME ON LEFT REAR RUNNING LIGHT QUIT OPERATING. ELECTICAL MACHANIC STATED REM MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACE. THIS UNIT IS VEHICLE SPECIFIC AND A COST OF $300 AND HAS TO BE PROGRAMED BY DEALER FOR ANOTHER CHARGE.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN DRIVING THE SLIDING DOORS POP COMPLETELY OPEN. ALSO, THE DOORS DO THE SAME THING WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED. CONSUMER HAS TO PHYSICALLY GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND SHUT THE DOORS CLOSE. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES, BUT WHEN THE DEALERS HAS THE VEHICLE, THE PROBLEM WILL NOT MANIFEST ITSELF. *AK
RACK AND PINION STEERING HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 42,000 MILES DUE TO AN END SEAL FAILURE. MOST OF THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED OUT WITHIN 2 DAYS OF THE LEAK. THERE IS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THIS BY FORD THEY HAVE ISSUED 2 TSB'S. THIS PART SHOULD NEVER FAIL AT THIS MILEAGE, IT IS A POOR DESIGN WITH EITHER WRONG MATERIALS SELECTED FOR THE SEAL AND NO LIFE TESTING WAS CONDUCTED TO VERIFY THE DESIGN. FORD SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED TO TALK ABOUT QUALITY WHEN CRAMP LIKE THIS HAPPENS.*AK
WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC THE DRIVER APPLIED THE ACCELERATE PEDAL THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS THEN STALLED. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER A SUN GEAR INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACING. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE PRODUCED A THICK SMOKE FROM THE INTERIOR CLUSTER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAUSE HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM
THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND REMAINED ON. CONSUMER WILL MAKE CONTACT WITH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE.*AK
VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR THE EMISSION TEST INSPECTION, AND DID NOT PASS THE INSPECTION'S TEST. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN OF THE VALVE COVER WHICH WAS SENDING OIL TO THE PCV SYSTEM. INTAKE GASKETS WERE ALSO REPLACED. *LA
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD "POPPING" SOUND. WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE IT WENT INTO REVERSE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE REACHED HIGH TEMPERATURES. INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP DETERMINED THAT HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS DUE TO INTAKE MANIFOLD FAILURE. *AK
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT STAYED ON. DEALER STATED THAT ENGINE HEAD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
POWER SLIDING DOOR OPENS WHILE DRIVING. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD WINDSTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ABNORMALLY PULLING TO THE RIGHT IN WOULD SPORADICALLY BECOME STUCK IN PARK. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 30 MPH WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE AND OVERDRIVE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED YET THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHERE SEVERAL UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE MADE BUT TO NO AVAIL. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED FIVE TIMES AND THE SHE WAS RECENTLY MADE AWARE OF TWO OPEN RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE; NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS: 10V385000 (SUSPENSION:REAR:AXLE:NON-POWERED AXLE ASSEMBLY) AND 09V399000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). NEITHER RECALL REPAIR HAD YET BEEN PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,445 AND THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
I TOOK THE VAN TO THE CAR WASH ON SAT. 14TH OF FEB. AS I STARTED TO WASH THE VAN STARTING WITH THE ROOF, THE PAINT STARTED FLAKING OFF ABOVE THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR.*AK
I OWN A 1999 FORD WINDSTAR WHICH I PURCHASED NEW. AT 35,700 MILES THE RACK AND PINION STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (LUCKILY IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY) NOW AT 59,000 MILES I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. I ALSO REPLACED A TIE ROD, AND THE FRONT END IS ALWAYS CREAKING, BUT NO ONE CAN FIND THE SOURCE.*AK
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON 1999 FORD WINDSTAR ON COME ON 4 TIMES IN LAST TWO MONTHS. A "LEAN CONDITION" WAS REPORTED FIRST 3 TIMES FROM SHOP. REPLACED FUEL/AIR FILTER, SPARK PLUGS/WIRES AND SOME HOSES. LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN SAME DAY IT CAME BACK FROM SHOP. SEEMS LIKE MANY OTHER CONSUMERS ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM (SEE WEBSITE - HTTP://WWW.CARTRACKERS.COM/FORUMS/LIVE/FORD WINDSTAR/493.HTML). WHEN WILL FORD HAVE TO STAND UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE DESIGN INSTEAD OF THE CUSTOMER BEING NICKEL & DIMED TO DEATH (SOME FIXES AREN'T EXACTLY NICKELS AND DIMES EITHER). *JB
1999 FORD WINDSTAR: TIE ROD ENDS DEGRADED AT 60,000 MILES, SENDING BITS OF METAL THROUGH THE SEALS IN THE RACK AND PINYON STEERING SYSTEM; GENERATED VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. COULD HAVE CAUSED DANGEROUS ACCIDENT. MECHANICS FIRST REPLACED POWER STEERING PUMP , WHCIH DID NOT CORRECT PROBLEM. SECOND REPAIR WAS REPLACEMENT OF R&P STEERING SYSTEM. REPAIR WAS OVER $1,000.

MY WINDSTAR STARTING MAKING A WHINING NOISE AND IT BEGAN TO GET WORSE AND WORSE.HE NOISE WAS ONE THING, BUT THE DRIVING OF THE VEHICLE BECAME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS... IT STARTED TO PULL WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED.*AK STEERING BECAME VERY DANGEROUS.
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT TIE ROD AND STEERING GEAR BOX PROBLEMS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING ROUGHLY. SEVERAL SECONDS LATER, ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET WAS SUCKED INTO THE ENGINE, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO BIND. *AK DEALER ALSO MADE REPAIRS ON FRONT END, POWER STEERING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AND TIE ROD ENDS. A 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS ALSO PERFORMED BY THE DEALER. *LA
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 75000 MILES. SUDDEN LOSS OF FORWARD GEARS. REVERSE WORKS. THIS TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 21,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN REBUILT AT THE FORD DEALER AS WELL. THE WINDSTAR TRANSMISSION IS A LEMON. *LA
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 1999 FORD WINDSTAR AND WITHOUT ANY PRIOR EVENTS, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO "SLIP" WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A START. SHE PROMPTLY DRIVE HOME 1.5MILES AND BY THE TIME SHE GOT HOME THE VAN COULD NOT BE DRIVEN BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERED SO BAD WHEN YOU STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR. WE HAD THE VAN TOWED THE NEXT DAY AND WERE GIVEN NEWS OF A TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND A $1900 REPAIR BILL. THE CAR ONLY HAD 57,000 MILES.*AK

A MULTIPLE OF TIMES (APPROX 4) HAVE TAKEN MY FORD WINDSTAR INTO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE AIR BAG SYSTEM MALFUNCTION REPAIRED. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD CONTINUING TO GLOW. I CAN'T REMEMBER THE FIRST INCIDENT WHEN I TOOK IT INTO FUTURE FORD OF ROSEVILLE BUT IT HAS BEEN AT LEAST 4 YEARS AGO. *TR

FORD WINSTAR 1999 WINDSHIELD CRACKED WHILE DRIVING. CRACK DEVELOPED AT THE BOTTOM, MID-WIDTH AND IS PROGREESING OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS. ABOUT 10 IN. LONG AFTER TWO DAYS.WAS NOT HIT BY STONE. CRACK IS CLEAN, NO DINGS, ETC.*AK
ENGINE TROUBLE LIGHT COMES ON WITH LEAN DIAGNOSTIC CODES. DEALER HAS TRIED THREE FIXES AND TROUBLE IS STILL HAPPENING
RACK AND PINION STEERING SYSTEM FAILED. I HAVE READ OF NUMEROUS OTHER FORD VEHICLES MANUFACTURED WITHIN A FEW YEARS OF MINE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. EVEN A NEIGHBOR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE IS A 1999 WITH 56,000 MILES. NOT EVEN 5 YEARS OLD WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURED. THIS COMPONET SHOULD LAST FOR A VEHICLES' LIFETIME. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD, THEY OFFERED NO HELP. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE AN INVESTIGATION! IT COST OVER $800 DOLLARS TO REPAIR, AND BEING THAT IT WAS REPLACED WITH ANOTHER FORD RACK AND PINION SYSTEM, I SHOULD PROBABLY START SAVING MY MONEY NOW FOR FUTURE REPAIRS. OUR MECHANIC TOLD US TO NOT REWARD FORD ANYMORE, AND BUY FROM A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER.*AK
AT 71,876 MILES THE RACK AND PINION STEERING AND POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED ON MY 1999 FORD WINDSTAR, LEAVING ME WITHOUT POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. ON A CAR OF THIS SIZE IT IS, I BELIEVE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITHOUT THE POWER STEERING.*AK
WHEN WE OPEN THE DOORS, SOMETIMES THE INTERIOR LIGHTING DOES NOT COME ON. OTHER TIMES IT BLINKS ON AND THEN GOES OFF. EVEN OTHER TIMES IT WILL BLINK QUICKLY. SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS COME ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF AFTER DOORS HAVE BEEN CLOSED. WHILE DRIVING THE DASHBOARD LIGHTING WILL SOMETIMES BLINK ON AND OFF AS WELL. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM FOR THE SHORT TIME THEY HAD THE VEHICLE. THIS MAKES SINCE BECAUSE OF THE INTERMITTENT NATURE OF THIS PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE DASHBOARD LIGHTING COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE OR IF THE PROBLEM MOVES TO OTHER SYSTEMS SUCH AS EXTERIOR LIGHTING. *LA
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING...1999 FORD WINDSTAR 68000 MILE NEED DRIVING PUMP & RACK REPLACED @ $1000. AFTER SPEAKING WITH NUMBER OF FRIENDS AND VISITING FORUMS, NOTE THAT THIS SAFETY PROBLEM APPEARS WIDESPREAD. APPARENT DESIGN DEFECT. AK
ACTUATOR DOOR MOTOR HAS BROKEN RODS TO BLEND DOOR. WE ARE WITHOUT HEAT, BLOWS COLD AIR ONLY. MUST REPLACE ENTIRE HEATER ASSEMBLY AT EST. COST OF $980.00 DOLLARS. INITIAL COST TO REPLACE THE MOTOR ALONE WAS FOR $225.00 WHICH WAS FIRST DIAGNOSIS OF PROBLEM. *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT SHE LOST CONTROL OF HER VEHICLE AFTER THE STEERING WENT OUT. SHE INDICATED THAT HIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. NOW IT HAS GONE OUT AGAIN CAUSING HER TO HIT A WALL IN THE GARAGE. THE VEHICLE STARTED PULLING TO THE LEFT AND THE CONSUMER COULD NOT BRING IT BACK. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *NM THE DEALER CLAIMED THEY REPAIRED THE VEHICLE BUT THE INVOICE DIDN'T STATE WHAT WAS REPLACED. *NM
THE FRONT SEAT BELTS GET LIGHTLY PINCHED BETWEEN THE INTERIOR DOOR PANELS LOWER STORAGE BIN AND THE CARPET ON THE FLOOR. THIS CAN CAUSE SOMEONE TO THINK THAT THEIR SEAT BELT IS ON CORRECTLY WHEN IN FACT IT IS NOT PROVIDING THEM ANY PROTECTION AT ALL. THE 12-18" OF EXCESS SLACK THAT IS CAUGHT BETWEEN THE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL AND THE CARPET COULD ALLOW A PERSON TO NOT BE SECURED TIGHTLY IN PLACE DURING AN ACCIDENT.*AK

WHILE DRIVING MY 1999 WINSTAR THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT CAME ON, SO I LOOKED IN MY REARVIEW MIRROR AND SAW SMOKE COMMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. SO, I PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOP, TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LEAKING OUT. MY WINSTAR VAN BROKE DOWN OUT SIDE OF NASHVILLE, TN WITH 70,401 MILES ON IT. THE COSTS AT JOHN BARKER'S TWO RIVERS FORD IN NASHVILLE WAS $2017.81.*AK
MY POWER STEERING JUST RECENTLY STARTED MAKING A GRINDING NOISE AT 64,000 MILES. I NOTICED THAT THE FLUID WAS LOW. I FILLED IT UP AND IT KEEPS LOSING FLUIDI FOUND A SITE ON THE INTERNET WHERE A LOT OF WINSTAR OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME. *AK PROBLEM...PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. A RECALL WAS ISSUED; HOWEVER THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK
WE BOUGHT OUR 1999 WINDSTAR IN 2002 WITH ONLY 27,000 MILES ON IT; FROM THE BEGINNING THE POWER STEERING WOULD GROAN AND MAKE NOISES. WE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT TO SEVERAL SHOPS, BUT WE WERE ASSURED THAT IT WAS "NORMAL." YESTERDAY THE POWER STEERING NOISE WAS VERY LOUD AND CONSTANT AND THERE WAS DIFFICULTY STEERING. TODAY THE STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. THE REPAIR SHOP SAYS IT IS THE RACK AND PINION. *LA
AFTER ENTERING OUR DRIVEWAY, THE CONNECTING PIECE BETWEEN THE REAR WHEELS BROKE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TIRES. WITH ONLY 52,000 MILES THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR OUT ON THE HIGHWAY, MAJOR INJURIES AND POSSIBLE DEATHS COULD RESULT. *AKEVERYONE, PLEASE INSPECT YOUR 1999 WINDSTAR.*AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINED REPEATEDLY ABOUT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE BECAUSE THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE DOOR LOCK WAS INOPERATIVE WITH THE KEY, WHEN DRIVEN AT LOW SPEEDS A CLUNK NOISE WAS HEARD, BUT IT WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE LURCHED IN LOW GEAR AND THE CONSUMER HAD TO DOWNSHIFT WHEN GOING UP HILL. *SC *JB
