WITHOUT WARNING THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AND DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOORS COME AJAR INTERMITTENTLY. CONSUMER CONTACTED DEALERSHIP ON NINE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. *AK
THE ABS SYSTEM STILL IS NOT WORKING RIGHT. THE MECHANICS SAY THAT THE ABS AND THE EMISSIONS COULD VERY WELL BE CAUSED BY THE SAME PROBLEM - A FAULTY COMPUTER. BOTH MODULES HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED TO BE BAD, HOWEVER, THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNWILLING TO USE A "POST WARRANTY ADJUSTMENT" TO HELP FIX THIS PROBLEM. IT SEEMS UNREASONABLE THAT WITH JUST OVER 60,000 MILES THESE TYPES OF PROBLEMS CAN BE CONSIDERED ANYTHING BUT MANUFACTURER DEFECTS.

PREMATURE TRANSMISSION FAILURE, SAW SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS IN INTERNET. COST OF REPAIRS $2838.06. DT
WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT IN A CONSTRUCTION AREA, AT 9:00 PM ON A BUSY INTERSECTION, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO DO ANYTHING, NO GEARS AT ALL. MY WIFE WAS ALONE WHEN THIS HAPPENED AMD IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING TO BE ALONE IN THE DARK WITH A CAR THAT WILL NOT MOVE, AND PEOPLE BLOWING THEIR HORNS AND YELLING AT HER. WE FINALLY HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER AND IN THE MORNING WERE TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE TRANSMISSION WAS NO GOOD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS ONLY 43,000 MILES ON IT AND ONLY ON THE ROAD 26 MONTHS. FORD DID NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIABILITY FOR IT AND NEITHER DID THE DEALER, SAYING WE DID NOT HAVE AN EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT. IF FORD CAN'T GUARENTEE A TRANSMISSION FOR MORE THAN 36,000 MILES THIS DISASTER IS GOING TO RIVAL FORD'S TIRE PROBLEM'S OF THE LAST FEW YEARS. THE NTSB MUST LOOK INTO THIS POTENTIAL LIFE THREATING PROBLEM. DT

THE ABS BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF ALL OF THE TIME. WHEN I HAVE IT SERVICED, THE DEALER SAYS NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT, SO I DON'T. BUT THE LIGHT IS CONTINUOUSLY ON NOW AND DUE FOR INSPECTION. THE MODULE THAT CONTROLS THE ABS SYSTEM COST OVER $900.00 FOR THE PART AND THEN LABOR. ABOUT $1300.00 FOR THE JOB. I HAVE A CHEVY S-10 PICK-UP TRUCK THAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM EXCEPT THE DEALER SAYS IT TRASH IN THE SYSTEM. SEEMS THAT THE AMERICAN MADE AUTO MANUFACTURERS WOULD OFFER SOMETHING FOR THESE PROBLEMS WHEN THE L DEFECTIVE ITEMS ARE INSTALLED IN A AUTO. IS THERE ANY ACTIONS I CAN TAKE OR THE DEALERS TO CORRECT THESE DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURER PROBLEMS. *JS
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND NO WARNING THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF CAUSING CONSUMER TO PULL OVER AND IT WILL BE HARD TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK STARTED. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS
TOTAL FAILURE OF TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER WHILE DRIVING ON OFF HIGHWAY STREET. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, NO TOWING OR PULLING STRESS WARRANTY EXPIRED. DT
CONSUMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ONTO INTERSTATE TRAVELLING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. DEPRESSED THROTTLE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE AND VEHICLE DROPPED INTO "PASSING GEAR". ONCE ON INTERSTATE, VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND PEDAL WAS STUCK TO THE FLOOR. CONSUMER TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, PLACED VAN IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED. VAN SUDDENLY ACCELERATED BACK TO 65MPH. CONSUMER HAD TO TURN OFF ENGINE AND COAST UNTIL VAN SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH TO PULL OVER.MR
2000 FORD WINDSTAR 43,000 MILES, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR NOISE OF ANY KIND. THIS HAPPENED WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING FREEWAY SPEEDS. I WENT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID ONE OF HIS EMPLOYEE HAD THE SAME VAN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO HIM AT 37,000 MILES. I WENT TO WORK AND A CO-WORKER SAID THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO HIS DADS VAN AROUND 40,000 MILES. FORD SHOULD FINS A TRANSMISSION THAT WILL LAST LONGER THAN THAT FEW OF MILES.
HAD ESP CONTRACT FOR 60000 AND TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 62000... 2000 LOUSY MILES OVER AND THE FORD DEALER OR FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD NOT HONOR THE EXTENDED CONTRACT.. THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP, CAR STOPPED HARD AND I HIT STEERING WHEEL WITH NO PAIN HOWEVER.. THIS WOULD BE DANGEROUS AT HIGH SPEED... I HAD IT REPAIRD AT AAMCO BUT WOULD LIKE FORD TO REIMBURSE ME FOR $2279. TS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD WINDSTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS INOPERABLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WAS REPLACED A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.
THE FRONT DISC BRAKES STARTED VIBRATING WITH ABOUT 15000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER/SERVICE DEPT. INSPECTED AND REPORTED SOME POSSIBLE WARPING HAD STARTED.*AK
WHILE REVERSING, WITH FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT A HIGH SPEED, CRASHING INTO A GARAGE. *AK *SCC
TRANSMISSION WILL DOWNSHIFT VERY ROUGHLY, DRIVER GETS THROWN FORWARD. DEALER CANNOT FIND CAUSE.*AK THE TRANSMISSION WAS DOWN SHIFTING WITH A TERRIBLE JOLT AT LOW SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO START WHEN COLD AND DAMP, ALSO WHEN THE IGNITION WAS SWITCHED OFF AND THEN BACK TO START THE ENGINE FIRES AND RUNS. THE VEHICLE STALLING WAS DETERMINED TO BE FUEL PUMP FAILURE. THE GAS MILEAGE DROPPED FROM 23 MPG TO 16 MPG AND THE VEHICLE BURNS MORE OIL. THE LIGHTS FLICKER WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND A/C IS ON, ALSO THE VEHICLE SHAKES WHILE IDLING WITH THE A/C ON. THE DRIVER?S SEAT CUT AND SLASHED THE CONSUMER?S CLOTHING. THERE WAS A WEAK GREEN LIGHT FROM THE BATTERY. VEHICLE VIBRATES AT HIGH SPEED. THE DRIVER?S DOOR WAS DIFFICULT TO SHUT. *YH
VEHICLE MADE A BIG CLUNCHING SOUND, AND THEN WOULD NOT GO, EVEN THOUGH DRIVER WAS PRESSING GAS PEDAL. ALSO, HEARD A RUMBLING OR GRINDING NOISE UPON ACCELERATION. SHE STATED THAT DEALER SAID THAT NOISE WAS NORMAL, AND THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH VEHICLE. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. TS
DT: CONSUMER OWNS 2000, FORD, WINDSTAR VAN WITH POWER REAR SLIDING DOORS. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR BECOMES UNLATCHED WHILE DRIVING, AND AT ONE OCCURRENCE ACTUALLY OPENED. WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED HAD GRANDCHILDREN IN VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND DEALER SAID COULD NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM. STATED FORD VEHICLES HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM. HAS BEEN TO DEALER 4-5 TIMES. LAST WEEK THIS WAS FIXED, BUT ON A TRIP THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. WENT BACK TO DEALER AGAIN AND STUCK WITH THIS PROBLEM. *AK
I WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD-ON ACCIDENT ON A FREEWAY. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE HAD FALLEN ASLEEP, AND, THEREFORE, HAD NOT SLOWED DOWN HER VEHICLE. THE IMPACT TOOK THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL OFF MY VEHICLE AND WE ROLLED PART WAY OVER UNTIL THE DITCH STOPPED MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE WAS CLAIMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE A PHOTO OF THE VEHICLE AFTER THE ACCIDENT AND THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN BRANDYWINE, MD AT THE INSURANCE AUTO AUCTION WAITING FOR A SALE DATE. I CONTACTED FORD TO SEE IF THEY COULD ASSIST IN FINDING OUT WHY THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS CHECKED AT A FORD DEALER, THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THIS ANSWER WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME, SINCE IT WOULD SEEM THEY SHOULD BE CONCERNED AS TO WHY THE SAFETY EQUIPMENT FAILED. I AM HOPING NHTSA CAN ASSIST ME IN FINDING OUT THE REASON FOR THE FAILURE. HAD A FLAT TIRE AND FOUND A 3" SLIT OF DRY ROT AND WHEN STORE INSP. MY TIRES, THREE WERE DRY ROTTED WITH THE 4TH ON THE BORDERLINE. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR MY FAMILY AND I. WE HAD JUST BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE DOING 65 MPH WITH THESE TIRES. HOW MANY MORE FAMILIES ARE RIDING ON THESE TYPE OF TIRES?

WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY THE STEERING WHEEL WILL START TO VIBRATE. AND THE VEHICLE STARTS TO DECELERATE.*JB
THROTTLE PEDAL GOT STUCK. IT COULD HAVE CAUSES AN ACCIDENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, WHEN THE VAN LURCHED AND SURGED OVER AN ENBANKMENT. SINCE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE I FEEL THE PROBLEM WAS MECHANICAL.EVEN THOUGH I CANNOT SWEAR MY FOOT DID NOT SLIP OFF THE BRAKE I DO NOT THINK IT DID. IT IS MY OPINION THAT SOMETHING CAUSED THE WINDSTAR TO SURGE AND EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE IT WOULD NOT STOP. THE VEHICLE HIT THE EDGE OF THE PAVEMENT AT THT EDGE OF THE EMBANKMENT, HIT THE GROUND 8-10 FEET DOWN THE EMBANKMENT, SLID 3/4 SIDEWAYS DOWN THE HILL, HIT A CONCRETE WATER RUN OFF GULLEY AND ROLLED ONTO THE BOTTOM OF THE LEFT SIDE THEN ROLLED BACK UPRIGHT. THE IMPACT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL WAS HARD ENOUGH TO BREAK THE FRONT WHEEL, AND CRACK THE REAR WHEEL. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AWAY. AT NO TIME DURING THIS "WILD RIDE" DID MY SEAT BELT TIGHTEN,OR SECURE ME IN THE SEAT. I FOUND MYSELF WITH MY BACK OVER THE RIGHT ARM REST ON THE DRIVER SEAT. I FEEL VERY LUCKY TO BE ONLY BATTERED AND BRUISED BY THIS CRASH. I BELIEVE HAD I BEEN A FRAIL PERSON SERIOUS INJURIES WOULD HAVE OCCURED. I AM STILL HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY LOWER BACK, IT IS SORE AND PAINFUL TO TOUCH. I ALSO AM HAVING SOME MUSCLE SPASMS IN MY LOWER BACK AND UPPER LEGS, WHICH I BLAME ON THE SEAT BELT NOT SECURING ME IN PLACE.*AK

AT 35 MPH ENGINE WILL MAKE A CLUNKING NOISE WITH NO WARNING. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
DURING THE FIRST 2 YEARS OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE THERE WAS ALWAYS A NOTICEABLE THUNK WHEN THE GEARSHIFT WAS FIRST ENGAGED. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS I INQUIRED OF THE DEALER WHAT THIS MIGHT BE AND WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS NOT UNUSUAL AND THAT I SHOULD USE THE PARKING BRAKE AT ALL TIMES TO MINIMIZE THIS PROBLEM. IN ANY EVENT, AFTER 2 1/2 YEARS OF MAINLY HIGHWAY DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION SIMPLY FAILED ONE DAY WHILE I WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY DRIVING ABOUT 110 KM/HR. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS ARISING FROM A HYDRAULIC LINE THAT HAD BURST INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION LEAKING A CONTAMINATING FLUID INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WHICH SUBSEQUENTLY RESULTED IN A MELT-DOWN OF THE WORKING PARTS INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION.
WHILE DRIVING AT THE SPEED OF 35MPH WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION. UPUN IMPACT, NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. IF YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FEEL FREE TO ADD.*AK
A CONVERSION COMPANY INSTALLED A SOLENOID IGNITION SWITCH TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE MIDDLE DOOR, WHICH IS ATTACHMENT FOR THE RAMP TO COME DOWN TO THE GROUND. THE SWITCH WILL MAKE A BUZZING NOISE, AND WILL OPEN AND CLOSE INTERMITTENTLY.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 40-50 MPH VEHICLE WILL START TO PULL TO RIGHT. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME THAT CONSUMER IS DRIVING. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING.*AK
WHILE USING REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS, MOTOR OF REAR WIPERS CAUGHT ON FIRE. *AK *SLC
VEHICLE STALLED ON FREEWAY. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK *SLC
WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO PARK VEHICLE, IT WILL SURGE FOWARD. CONSUMER HAS HIT A STEEL POLE DUE TO THAT PROBLEM.*AK THIS DEFECT HAS PRESENTED ITSELF THREE TIMES. THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS IN TWO OF THE INCIDENTS. THE DEALER CHECKED ALL OF THE COMPONENTS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THIS. THERE WAS NO SIGNIFICANT FACTOR LOCATED THAT COULD HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THESE INCIDENTS. ALSO, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN CONSUMER HIT THE POLE. *JG
ON MAY 27, 2002, I WAS ON VACATION WITH MY FAMILY USING OUR 2000 FORD WINDSTAR. I WAS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE ROW SEAT AND WAS TRYING TO GET OUT WHEN I TRIPPED AND LANDED WITH MY KNEE ON STEPPING AREA OF THE VEHICLE. THE FORCE OF MY LANDING (WHICH WASN'T THAT HARD) CAUSED THE SIDE DOOR TO UNLATCH FROM IT'S GROOVED MOLDING AND SHUT ON MY ARM WITH FULL FORCE. I WAS LUCKY NOT HAVE ANY BROKEN BONES (BUT DID HAVE TO GO TO THE DOCTOR AND HAVE X-RAYS) HOWEVER I WAS UNABLE TO WORK OR REALLY TAKE CARE OF MY CHILDREN (I HAD A 1 YR OLD AND 5 YR OLD AT THE TIME) FOR A GOOD MONTH (I WENT BACK TO WORK AFTER A WEEK BUT WITH PAIN). I CALLED FULLERTON FORD AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY SAID THE FIRST STEP WAS TO COME IN AND HAVE THEM LOOK AT THE VEHICLE, WHICH I DID. JAIME, THE SERVICE REP, LOOKED AT THE CAR AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR HOWEVER THIS IS A FLAW IN THE OVERALL DESIGN AS THE AUTOMATIC WINDSTAR DOORS HAVE A LOCKING MECHANISM AND THE MANUALS ONLY HAVE THIS SMALL MOLDING. HE RECOMMENDED THAT I CALL FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND LODGE A COMPLAINT FOR A RECALL. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE WOULD DOCUMENT ALL THIS IN HIS COMPUTER FOR WHEN FORD REVIEWED THE COMPLAINT. I CALLED FORD IMMEDIATELY AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD TAKE MY INFORMATION AND THAT WOULD BE IT. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT A RECALL THEY SAID IT WAS DOUBTFUL BUT WRITE A LETTER. I SENT OUT A LETTER ON JUNE 15TH EXPLAINING WHAT HAPPENED AND HOW I FELT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS CAR AS THE DOOR HAD SLID OTHER TIMES IN THE PAST AND I JUST DIDN'T FEEL SAFE THAT MY SON WOULDN'T GET HURT OR SOME OTHER CHILD DOWN THE ROAD. I ASKED THEM TO ALLOW ME TO BE RELEASED FROM MY LEASE AND TO GIVE ME A CREDIT TOWARD A PURCHASE OF A DIFFERENT VEHICLE...THEY RESPONDED ON PAPER WITHIN TWO DAYS OR RECEIVING MY LETTER HOWEVER, THEY CHOSE NOT TO MAIL IT TO ME UNTIL 8 WEEKS LATER. IN AUGUST, I RECEIVED THEIR RESPONSE AND IT SAID THAT THEY DEALERSHIP SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR SO THEY WERE GOING TO DO NOTHING
PRIOR TO THE RECALL RADIO, DOOR LOCKS FROM THE REMOTE, AND UPPER SWITCHES FOR DOOR LOCKS WERE INOPERATIVE. CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE, 02S33, FROM FORD (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID#00V351000) REGARDING WATER AND OTHER CONTAMINANTS MAY ENTER INTO THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT DUE TO A MISSING BODY SEALER CONDITIONS - OCCURRING DURING THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS. IF WATER OR OTHER CONTAMINANTS ENTER THIS AREA A SHORT CIRCUIT IN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR MAY OCCUR. CONSUMER BELIEVES THAT BOTH RADIO AND A LOCK SYSTEM PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE DUE TO THE RECALL DEFECT, DEALER REFUSED TO FIX THE RECALL. *YD
DT: CAR IS CURRENTLY AT FORD DEALER RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF BRAKE SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN ABOUT 20,000. WHENEVER AN EMERGENCY STOP OCCURS, THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES DO NOT WORK. NO REPAIRS HAVE N BEEN MADE. MECHANIC DID ROAD TEST THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE ABS DID NOT WORK. *AK
BUMPER WAS LOOSE. FORD STATES THIS IS COMMON IN THESE CARS AND A RESULT OF NORMAL USE, BUT CHARGED TO FIX IT. IF WE HADN'T DETECTED THIS PROBLEM IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR INJURY ACCIDENT IF THE BUMPER CAME OFF DURING OPERATION OF THE CAR. HOW CAN A LOOSE BUMPER BE CONSIDERED NORMAL? FORD DOESN'T THINK THIS IS ODD AT ALL, BUT HAS NO INFORMATION FOR OWNERS TO REFER TO IN TERMS OF MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF THIS "NORMAL" PROBLEM. IT SHOULD AT LEAST BE LISTED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL IF IT'S "NORMAL"*AK
BEGINNING IN 2002 THE ABS LIGHT APPEARED & AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO FORD AND NAPA MECHANICS, DIAGNOSIS WAS NEVER DETERMINED. THEN THE RECALL OF 2009 TO REPLACE THE MALFUNCTIONED PART OCCURRED ON 12/9/2009 - THE VERY NEXT DAY (DEC 10, 2009) THE ABS LIGHT AGAIN APPEARED. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE VAN BACK AND THEY WOULD 'DIAGNOSE' THE PROBLEM FOR $120. MAY 2012 WE REPLACED THE AFFECTED ABS PART WITH OUR OWN FINANCES BECAUSE THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD US THAT THE AFFECTED PART WAS NO LONGER UNDER RECALL AND WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. IT SOLVED THE ABS LIGHT FROM COMING ON FOR ABOUT A WEEK. TO THIS DATE THE LIGHT COMES ON. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BASED ON THE REPORTS THAT IT WAS AN EXCELLENT FAMILY VEHICLE FOR SAFETY. I WOULD CONSIDER BRAKING AN IMPORTANT FEATURE, TOO. PLEASE HAVE FORD RESOLVE THIS MATTER IMMEDIATELY AND NOT JUST IGNORE THE MATTER. I HAVE LESS THAN 85,000 MILES ON THE VAN SO IT IS NOT DUE TO OVERUSE OR NEGLECT. AND THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN IN SNOWY CONDITIONS, IS PARKED IN A GARAGE WHEN NOT IN USE AND ALL MAINTENANCE IS KEPT CURRENT. PLEASE GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED CORRECTLY. VEHICLE CAN SHIFT OUT OF GEAR WITHOUT APPLYING BRAKE PEDAL. DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
WHILE AT A STOP THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR POP OUT WINDOW BLEW OUT. NO INJURIES. TEMPERATURE WAS MID 80'S. NLM
EXCITER RING CAME LOOSE FROM AXLE ASSEMBLY, CAUSING ABS TO INTERVENE WHEN IT SHOULDN'T HAVE, WITH RESULTANT LOSS OF BRAKING. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE WITH THIS VEHICLE, THE LEFT AXLE IN OCTOBER 2001, AT 24215 MILES, AND THE RIGHT AXLE IN MAY 2002, AT 34625 MILES. BOTH TIMES WE NEARLY REAR-ENDED ANOTHER CAR, WHEN THE ABS UNEXPECTEDLY REDUCED BRAKING POWER.
CONSUMER TRANSMISSION FAILED ON THE BAY BRIDGE. NAR 1-22-03 THE CONSUMER WAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD HESITATE FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR, BUT THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD ON 2 OCCASIONS IT WAS NORMAL. THE ABS LAMP ILLUMINATED AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE RELAY. THE WINDSHIELD WASHER WARNING LIGHT HAD COME ON, THE WASHER BOTTLE HAD TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE ALSO SHUDDERED WHILE BRAKING. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 60MPH A BRAKE LIGHT FLASHES. CONSUMER IS UNABLE TO READ LIGHT, THEN VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN.*AK
HEADLIGHT COVER ON PASSENGER'S SIDE COLLECTS WATER, CAUSING IT TO FOG UP.*AK *JG
FUEL LEAKING FROM VEHICLE. DEALER DETERMINED A CLAMP WAS MISSING ON FUEL LINE, CAUSING IT TO COME OFF AND LEAK FUEL. DEALER STATED CLAMP HAD BEEN OMITTED AT THE FACTORY.*AK *NLM
