THE DRIVERS SIDE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS GO HAYWIRE ON OCCASION. IT HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING, OR STATIONARY. HAPPENS IN ALL CONDITIONS. SOMETIMES I CAN'T MOVE MY SEAT, ROLL THE WINDOWS UP OR DOWN, OR UNLOCK THE DOORS USING THE DRIVERS SIDE CONTROLS. ADDITIONALLY, THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL DOWN A MAJORITY OF THE TIME. THE RADIO ALSO, SWITCHES ITSELF FROM RADIO TO SAYING THERE IS AN AC ADAPTER PLUGGED IN SO IT WONT PLAY MUSIC, WHEN THERE IS NO ADAPTER TO INPUT MUSIC PLUGGED IN. THE GUARD OVER THE SEAT CONTROLS CAME UNHOOKED ABOUT A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE WITHOUT ANYONE TOUCHING IT. I HAVE REATTACHED IT BACK INTO PLACE NUMEROUS TIMES, IT DOESN'T STAY. I CALLED DEALER AND HE WAS CONFIDENT THERE WOULD BE A RECALL SOON TO COVER IT. HAS BEEN ALMOST 3 YEARS AND MY WARRANTY HAS ALREADY BEEN UP, AND THE RECALL THAT WAS "SURE TO COVER IT" HAS NOT HAPPENED YET.
IN WET / RAINY CONDITIONS, POWER STEERING FAILS AS BELT GETS WET AND LOOSES ALL TRACTION. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AT VARYING SPEEDS AND HAS TWICE ALMOST RESULTED IN ACCIDENTS AS WE WERE NEGOTIATING TURNS. VARIOUS ONLINE AUTO FORUMS HIGHLIGHT THIS AS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE GMC ACADIA. WHY HASN'T A RECALL BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE? DEALER STATES THERE IS NO FIX. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER HAVING THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED, SHE NOTICED A BURNING SMELL BEING EMITTED FROM AN UNKNOWN SOURCE. IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE LUGGAGE RACK WAS ALLOWING WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE WHICH REACHED THE ELECTRONICS THROUGH THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. AS A RESULT, ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS THAT WERE CONNECTED TO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, INCLUDING THE ONSTAR SYSTEM AND THE RADIO, FAILED TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 32,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN I TRIED TO PARK MY 2011 ACADIA SLE, THE ACCELERATOR BECAME STUCK CAUSING THE FRONT OF MY CAR TO CRASH INTO A HEALTH CLUB WALL. WHEN I SAW PEOPLE RUNNING INSIDE THE HEALTH CLUB I THOUGHT I HAD ROLLED OVER SOMEONE. SO, I TRIED TO BACK UP AND WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE IT SHOT BACKWARDS WITH A ROLLING FORCE AND HIT AN IRON POST. TO KEEP THE WHEELS FROM CONTINUOUSLY ROLLING, I HAD TO SLAM THE GEAR INTO PARK AND TURN THE IGNITION OFF. I BELIEVE THIS ACCIDENT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE IS INJURED OR KILLED.
PASSENGER SIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT STOPPED WORKING. TOOK TO DEALER AND BULB WAS REPLACED. WITHIN A FEW MONTHS, BULB WAS OUT AGAIN. RETURNED TO DEALER IN JUNE 2013 AND DISCOVERED PART OF THE FIXTURE WIRING HAD MELTED. DEALER REPAIRED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE SAME DAY WE PICKED IT UP, THE DRIVER SIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT WENT OUT. RETURNED TO DEALER ON JUNE 21, 2013 AND DISCOVERED MELTED WIRING AGAIN. WE HAVE GONE THROUGH THREE BULBS AND HAD TO REPLACE THE MELTED WIRING COMPONENTS ON BOTH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. ALSO HAVE AN UNSOLVED ISSUE OF HIGH BEAMS WORKING OFF AND ON. THERE IS DEFINITELY A SERIOUS WIRING/ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. THIS COULD POSE A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD. THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS NOT SOME TYPE OF MANUFACTURING DEFECT! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE BULB HAD GOTTEN TOO HOT AND MELTED THE CASING, LIGHT BULB, AND HOUSING UNIT. THE COMPONENTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR BOTH HEAD LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
SINCE MAY 2012 OUR "CHECK AIR BAG" LIGHT HAS REPEATEDLY APPEARED. THE DEALER TOLD US THAT WHEN THAT LIGHT IS ON, THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED AT LEAST 4 TIMES. THE MOST RECENT OF WHICH WAS ON DECEMBER 20, 2012. WE WERE TOLD GM DISCOVERED A NEW REPAIR THAT THEY WERE 90% CERTAIN WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DETECTOR. THE LIGHT APPEARED AGAIN TONIGHT, LESS THAN ONE MONTH AFTER THE NEW REPAIR. GMC HAS BEEN COMPLETELY NON-RESPONSIVE. THE DEALER (KOONS) WOULD ONLY REPAIR THE CAR WHEN THE LIGHT APPEARS, WHICH IS A PROBLEM WHEN IT FLASHES INTERMITTENTLY. THE FACT THAT WE CANNOT RELY ON OUR AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY IS AN EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME FAILURE AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE TECHNICIAN MENTIONED THAT THE ECM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. *TR

CRANK NO START AFTER PARKING ON AN INCLINE (DRIVE WAY) WHEN FUEL LEVEL IS LOW (~ 3-4 GALLONS IN THE TANK.) STARTED WHEN CAR WAS PUSHED TO THE STREET. (LEVEL). *TR
MY 2011 GMC ACADIA (DENALI) HAS NOW BEEN TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES (AND LIKELY AN UPCOMING 4TH) DUE TO THE RIGHT FRONT POWER DOOR LOCK AND WINDOW (AND REAR HATCH) WORKING INTERMITTENTLY OVER THE PAST YEAR. THEY HAVE TRIED TO REPLACED THE DOOR MODULE AND REPROGRAMMED IT. THE NEXT TIME, THEY REPLACED BOTH THE MALE AND FEMALE TERMINALS IN THE CONNECTOR AND APPLIED SOME GREASE. NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT THEY DID THE THIRD TIME. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN ALTHOUGH AFTER 24 HOURS IT WAS FINE. I UNDERSTAND GM CURRENTLY HAS A RECALL OUT FOR SUVS BUT FOR MORE OLDER VEHICLES = FIRE, SMOKE, OTHER ARE LINKED TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE DOOR UNIT. JUST WONDERING IF MY VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE EVEN THOUGH ITS 5 YEARS NEWER. THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AS OF YET. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER WAS MISSING AFTER DRIVING THROUGH A CAR WASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO ADVISED HIM TO REMOVE IT WHEN DRIVING THROUGH A CAR WASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3400.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35-45 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LEFT REAR WHEEL LOCKED WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL OVER AND CRASH INTO A DITCH. THE CONTACT DIDN'T INDICATE IF THERE WERE ANY INJURIES OR IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER OFFERED TO HAVE A SERVICE MANAGER PROVIDE HIM WITH THE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE MANUFACTURER. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST WAS ABNORMALLY FORCING HIS HEAD FORWARD WHEN DRIVING AND PREVENTING HIM FROM BEING ABLE TO COMFORTABLE REST HIS SHOULDERS BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,813 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING IN RAINY OR ICY WEATHER, THE TIRES WOULD SPIN ABNORMALLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND WOULD NOT GRIP THE PAVEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,000. UPDATED 02/15/12*LJ
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED WHENEVER THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO THE PARK POSITION, THE FOUR AUTOMATIC DOORS WOULD UNLOCK WITHOUT INTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOUR TIMES FOR THE SIMILAR FAILURE AND THEY STATED THAT THE DOORS OPERATED NORMALLY. IN ADDITION, THE SILVER AND CHROME TRIM AROUND THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD, AND CONSOLE AREA WOULD OBSTRUCT THE VISION WHEN SUNLIGHT MADE CONTACT WITH IT. THE CONTACT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. UPDATED 07/08/11 *BF UPDATED 3/15/12 *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD WAS EXTREMELY SMALL AND DISTORTED THE REAR VISIBILITY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REARVIEW BACK-UP CAMERA SHOULD BE EQUIPPED IN ALL MODEL VEHICLES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED AS DESIGNED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19.

WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING BETWEEN APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MPH ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED, FOLLOWED BY A DELAYED RESPONSE OF SEVERAL SECONDS. THE FAILURE WAS A CONTINUOUS OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THEY INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DELAYED RESPONSE WAS A MANUFACTURER DESIGN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30.
