Manufacture is not offering any solution or remedy. They’re also not offering replacement transportation. This is not only a safety issue for everyone, but I am very pregnant and my belly is right in the airbag. It’s unacceptable this is not being corrected or replacement transportation offered.
In June 2023, I was notified of recall N232404980. The reason for recall is, a driver’s-side front airbag inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. It has been 5 months and the manufacturer has no current plan in place to replace the driver’s airbag module. After speaking with a GMC Customer Assistance Center representative today, 11/17/2023, I was told that there is no estimated time when the repair will be available. Based on the possibility of death, five months and no plan for when a repair/replacement will be available feels negligent and as though the repairs are not being completed in a reasonable time.

I received notice of the recall on the airbag of my vehicle. I contacted the dealership and was informed I should contact GMC if I was concerned for my safety. I contacted GMC, explained my case and now several months down the road and I am still driving a vehicle that could explode in my face, quite literally, if anything happens. Although I can control my driving actions, I cannot control others. And as I try to be safe, it does not always allow for that concern. I bought this vehicle for my grandchild, and I am still limiting the use with her in it and trying to use other vehicles to protect her. This has caused more issues for my family than it has been worth owning this vehicle and GMC was not willing to assist in any way!!

GM safety recall N232404980 received in June, 2023, states that fragments could may pass through the air bag which may result in injury or death to the occupants. As of 12/19/2023, GM is still saying that the parts to repair aren't available. Not acceptable.
The recall is with the steering wheel air bag. If it goes off then the driver could possibly get injured or killed from metal fragments according to the recall letter that I received. The letter is dated June 10, 2023. If they can't come up with a fix then they should supply me with a vehicle that is safe. Seven months is way too long.

We received a "important safety recall" notification letter from GMC in June 2023, informing us that there is a safety issue with the driver's side airbag. The recall reference number is N232404980. This recall calls out a potential hazard for metal fragments to pass through the airbag, which may result in injury or death. As of today, May 29, 2024, it has been almost a full year since we have received this notification, and there is still no resolution. I have called GMC directly, and was advised to "keep checking until a repair solution is available". Given that the cause of the recall can result in injury or death, a timeline of a year (or longer) to repair this issue is completely unacceptable. Someone needs to hold GMC accountable, and pressure them to make the repair for this recall available immediately. It is unacceptable that drivers of the impacted vehicles are expected to drive with a potentially dangerous (or fatal) recall, with no timeline of resolution. I expect the NHTSA to hold GMC accountable, and demand an immediate resolution to all vehicles impacted by recall #N232404980.

WITH THE RISK OF DEATH, OUR ACADIA IS NOT ROAD SAFE, OFF THE ROAD UNTIL FIXED. OUR GM DEALER WILL NOT TAKE IT IN A TRADE FOR A NEW CAR AND THE DEALER WILL NOT GIVE US A LOANER UNTIL THE CAR IS SAFE.

I received a letter from GMC in June 2023 (14 months ago) notifying me of a safety recall on my 2016 GMC Acadia regarding front driver side airbag inflator. The letter said the inflator my rupture during deployment sending shrapnel (metal fragments) to the vehicle interior resulting in serious injury and/or death to the driver or other occupants. I have contacted a dealer for recall repair and was told there are NO replacement parts available and no date when they may be available. 8/2/2024 I contacted GMC regarding this recall issue and no parts. The representative said GMC has no date when parts may become available, that I would get a letter when parts are available. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND A KNOWN SAFETY HAZARD BY GMC. I can't sell my vehicle with an open known safety recall. EFFECTED OWNERS NEED ACTION NOW ON THIS RECALL, BEFORE MORE PEOPLE DIE OR ARE INJURED.

I have a recall on this vehicle that GMC has failed to provide me parts/repair and this recall will be 3 years old in June. I have emailed the local dealer, the manager of the local dealer, GM corporate, and no one has followed through. The best I came to getting the repair was that Corporate made sure I had an appointment and dealer had my part, I went to that appt at my local dealer in Jan 2025 (Premiere GMC of Carlsbad, CA) and waited 2 hours with cars ahead of me (even thought I had an appt) only to be told the part was not there, they would order it and get back to me. Happy to [provide proof of emailing local dealer, GM Corporate etc. with no resolution. I cannot sell my vehicle without this repair done. And I continue to drive daily in an unsafe car.
We are not able to get a recall completed with a problem known to cause death or injury if left unrepaired - the recall was listed publicly last May 2023 and no remedy is available to dealers to repair yet
Safety recall that has not been addressed by the dealership in over 4 months
The check engine light has come on multiple times in the past 6 months. I have taken it 3 times to be repaired and finally the found out what was wrong. The first time that I brought it in, May 2023, the Bank 1 Lean Code was coming up on the diagnostic. They replaced a sensor for $300. 2 weeks later the check engine light came on again. They got the same codes and didn't know what exactly was causing it so they fixed a bunch of things which cost me $2,200. 3 months later, the check engine light came back on again. This time they're telling me the repairs cost $3,725 and it's related to this bulletin [XXX] ). This seems like a safety hazard that I should not have to pay for. My car only has 58,000 miles. I already paid $2,500 in misdiagnosed problems and now they want me to pay another $3,725. I don't have my bills to upload because they're in my glove box and my car is with the dealership. GMC issued recall #N232404980 Re airbags that are faulty and may rupture releasing metal fragments causing injury or death. My vehicle is part of that recall. Immediately called my dealership after learning of this recall. My dealership states that yes my car is part of the airbag recall but they have no parts available to fix it. I was told by my dealership that no one has these parts yet. No timeline is available. When contacting GMC customer care I was asked to initiate a case or claim. They escalated the claim telling me if I feel unsafe driving my vehicle they are required to provide a rental until these repairs can be made. Weeks have gone by without any movement. My dealership says they need authorization from “someone” at GMC to provide me a loaner vehicle. The recall has been active for well over a month. GMC records their customer care calls and I’ve been told by GMC associates to contact you or the better business bureau. I’ve been told I should not drive my vehicle because of the safety risk. I have to work and take care of my children. I feel GMC is morally obligated to stop stringing their customers along and either fix the faulty vehicle that they sold me or provide a safe method of transportation in the meantime.
Delayed in solution to recall. Needs recall remedy ASAP.
I have contacted GM multiple times and I have also contacted the dealerships in Oahu, Hawaii to get my vehicle fixed, and the dealerships don’t want to help me because they say that “GM” hasn’t put out a remedy. But the remedy shows that the airbag has to be replaced. I haven’t been able to drive my car for almost 2 months because this isn’t a little recall. I need help in getting GM to fix my vehicle so I can go back to using my family vehicle
The airbag recall was opened on May 10th. I have not yet heard of any remedy despite the fact that the nhtsa site says that the dealer should be replacing my airbags.

A recall was sent out on 2023-05-10 NHTSA 23V334 for Driver Front Airbag Inflator May Rupture. It has almost been a year and a remedy is still not available. Safety Risk Description An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. Based on the safety risk description this sounds pretty serious, and yet there is no remedy.

Manufacturer Recall NumberN232404980 NHTSA Recall Number23V334 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Summary General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2014-2017 model year Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles. In these vehicles, the front-driver airbag inflator may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that may result in inflator rupture during deployment. Safety Risk An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. General Motors has failed to repair this in a timely manner. My vehicle is unsafe to drive, is a risk to myself and my children. I cannot afford to pay my loan for the car that I’m not supposed to drive and buy another safe vehicle. Gmc has let this go for months. It is now November they refuse to offer a loaner or any kind of discount on a new vehicle, my vehicle has lost trade in value and is basically a pile of junk in my driveway. I want this issue remedied immediately. I have contacted numerous employees and service places and nobody can repair the air bag. I want my vehicle replaced!
An airbag recall issued in may, 2023 has yet to have a fix after 6 months. This is a significant risk to myself and passengers.
Transmission- Shift Solenoid EVAP- Purge Valve Forward Collision- goes off when nothing is in front of the vehicle
Special Coverage Adjustment N172097060 Side Blind Zone Alert Module Water Intrusion was issued for my vehicle. I took it in to get fixed and was told I was past the 6 year extension (May 2022) but under the milage (79,199). They told me the parts are on back order from GMC. This was on 04-03-2023. On 04-05-2023 I was driving my vehicle and the instrument cluster went partially blank. I lost my speedometer , tachometer and most of the other gauges. I had numerous warning lights on. The blinkers stopped working and I had no control of any environmental controls or radio functions. I pulled off the side of the road and shut the vehicle off. I tried to restart it, it started but even more things began to fail electrically. I shut if off again, tried another restart and now it would not start. I tried multiple times and could not get it to start. With the car off and the key out of the ignition, the heater control panel would stay on and the fan was running. I tried a few more times and finally got it to run but still had no instrumentation. I was less than a mile from home and tried to make it back. While driving I had no electrical control of anything and no way to determine my speed. I made it back, but now my vehicle will not start at all. With the key out it still runs the heater controls and fan. This is a dangerous situation not being able to control your vehicle electrical systems and being able to start your vehicle. This needs to be a recall, NOT a manufacture " Special coverage adjustment" that they know is a known issue and dont even have to parts to fix it.
Recently the "Service Side Detection System" light came on. Now the blind side monitoring doesn't work. While driving all of lights on the dash, radio, and headlights turned off. I was unable to see the road, my speed, or anything within the vehicle. I did some research and this is a vary common issue with these vehicles and nothing has been done to correct it.
The transmission broke and now has to be fully replaced costing me 5500 my car has 94k miles
