TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY XL. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER WINDOW AND DOOR CONTROLS MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW POWER SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
MY VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVE WAY AND A LOUD SHATTERING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE HOUSE AND WENT OUTSIDE TO LOOK AT WHAT IT WAS AND NOTICED THAT MY BACK WINDOW OF MY VEHICLE WAS IN A MILLION PIECES ON THE GROUND AND ALL OVER MY VEHICLE AND IN MY CAR SEATS FOR MY CHILDREN. THE BLOWER MOTOR FOR THE FRONT CONTROL QUITE WORKING A WEEK AGO AND THE RIGHT BACK DOOR WILL NOT LATCH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE NEAR THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. IT WAS OBSERVED THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME WAS RUSTED OUT UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 179,603.
THE REAR GLASS ON THE LIFT GATE COMPLETELY SHATTERED/EXPLODED WHILE IN GARAGE. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY.
GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. AMOUNT OF GAS IN TANK UNKNOWN DUE TO THIS ERROR, NOT ONLY MAKING DRIVING UNSAFE, IT IS ALSO A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE. WE HAVE REPLACED FUEL FILTER IN GAS TANK AND PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. NOW OUR MECHANIC HAS SUGGESTED A NEW IMSTRUMENT CLUSTER.....$500 LATER WILL IT BE FIXED?' ALL THE WHILE GMC KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM.
GMC IS ADMITTING TO A FAULTY GAS TANK AND ONLY COVERS THIS UP TO 150,000 MILES I BOUGHT THE CAR AFTER THE 150,000 MILES AND NOW HAVE GAS LEAKING THE TANK WAS NEVER FIXED. WHY DOES THE MILEAGE MAKE A DIFFERENCE? THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT GMC SHOULD COVER REGARDLESS OF THE MILEAGE. JUST BECAUSE MY GAS TANK DID NOT LEAK AS SOON AS OTHER ONES DID MEANS I SHOULD NOT BE COVERED? A RECALL IS A RECALL AND THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM.

WHILE FILLING UP MY VEHICLE WITH GAS AT SAMSCLUB, IT BEGAN LEAKING CONTINUOUSLY FROM THE TANK. WE REPLACED THE FILLER NECK HOSE, BUT IT TURNS OUT THE GAS TANK HAS A CRACK AT THE TOP. WHEN YOU WALK BY, YOU COULD SMELL THE FUMES.
MY CAR WILL SHUT OFF WHEN I AM EITHER TURNING OR SLOWING DOWN WITHOUT ANY WARNING, I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, TURN THE KEY OFF THEN ON AGAIN AND IT STARTS LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. THE ENGINE DOESN'T SHOW ANY WARNING LIGHTS IT JUST SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED NOW ABOUT 6 TIMES. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER, BUT IF I AM GIVEN AN IDEA OF WHAT TO LOOK FOR I CAN TAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO IS VERY QUALIFIED AND DID REPLACE A SENSOR THAT WENT BAD. PLEASE HELP
DRIVING IN THE SNOW,BACK PASSENGER SIDE SLID RIGHT,LOST CONTROL HIT A TREE.
FRONT AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY,DRIVING IN SNOW SLID AN HIT A TREE WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY.
THIS IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. PLASTIC GAS TANK LEAKS. GMC DOES NOT CARE. I TALKED WITH THEM THEY IGNORE REPAIR IS $1,600.00 OR MORE. PEOPLE ARE FIXING WITH GLUE? GASOLINE SPILL FROM CRACKED PLASTIC FUEL TANK.
I TOOK VEHICLE TO GMC DEALER FOR AN UNRELATED GM SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM AND UPON REMOVAL OF THE FUEL TANK, THEY FOUND EXTENSIVE RUST-THROUGH ADJACENT TO WHERE THE TANK MOUNTS TO THE FRAME. THEY SAID THE "VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO BE DRIVEN" YET IT HAS ONLY 100,000 MILES AND ITS EXTERIOR APPEARS ALMOST LIKE-NEW. DEALER FEELS THE DESIGN OF THE TANK BEING MOUNTED AGAINST THE FRAME CAUSED ROAD SALT, ETC TO GET TRAPPED WHERE IT CANNOT BE CLEANED OUT BY UNDERCARRIAGE CAR WASHES. I RECENTLY CONTACTED GMC BUT MY COMPLAINT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED TO MY SATISFACTION. I SUSPECT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF ENVOY/TRAILBLAZER (XL) MODELS STILL ON THE ROAD WITH THIS HIDDEN "CANCER".
I HAD BEEN DRIVING AND PULLED INTO A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT AND WHEN I GOT OUT OF MY VEHICLE I NOTICED THE SMELL OF GASOLINE BEING CLOSE TO A GAS STATION I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT WHEN GETTING BACK IN MY VEHICLE AFTER RETRIEVING MY FOOD I NOW SMELLED THE GASOLINE INSIDE MY VEHICLE STILL THOUGHT NOTHING THAT MAYBE THE FUMES WERE JUST LINGERING UNTIL THE NEXT DAY WHEN THE SMELL WAS STRONGER SO STRONG THAT MY CHILD WITH ASTHMA IMMEDIATELY HAD TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE SO BEING CAUTIOUS AS ANYONE I HAD MY HUSBAND TAKE A LOOK HE SMELLED THE GASOLINE BUT COULDN'T FIND A LEAK SO HE TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC WHO THEN DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND REMOVED THE TANK AND REPLACED IT WITH A USED TANK AND WHATEVER PART WAS NEEDED TO FIX THE ISSUE SO SINCE THEN I HAVE NOT SMELLED ANYMORE GASOLINE BUT MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REFUSES TO GO OFF NOT TO MENTION I RECEIVE A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING THAT THERE WAS SOME SORT OF RECALL ON MY EXACT YEAR AND MAKE OF VEHICLE AND THAT I COULD SEND IN A CLAIM TO GET BACK THE $500 I PUT INTO FIXING THE VEHICLE THINKING IT WAS NOW SAFE FOR MY FAMILY SO I PAID TO FIX THE PROBLEM ONLY MY NEW TANK IS USED SO I'M GUESSING I'LL BE HAVING THIS ISSUE AGAIN AT SOME POINT WHICH IS VERY SCARY CONSIDERING I DRIVE MY CHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE PLUS I'M OUT THE $500 STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX AGAIN SHOULD THE PROBLEM ARISE AND I DIDN'T KEEP THE RECEIPT FROM MY MECHANIC THINKING PROBLEM SOLVED I PUT IT ASIDE IT THREW IT AWAY SO I'M JUST CURIOUS IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO BECAUSE KNOWING THE TANKS HAVE ISSUES AND I'VE JUST PAID $500 FOR ANOTHER RECALLED TANK PRETTY MUCH SO I'M AT A POINT WHERE I HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO TAKE A LOSS ON THE MONEY I PAID TO FIX THE VEHICLE BEFORE I KNEW ABOUT THE RECALL NOT TO MENTION I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE TIE RODS TWICE AND IT'S POPPING AGAIN WHEN I MAKE TURNS I LOVE THIS VEHICLE BUT NOW I'M SUPER NERVOUS OF IT
WHILE TRAVELING 55 MILES PER HOUR ON ICY ROADS MY VEHICLE LOST CONTROL AND HIT A GUARD RAIL, THEN A TELEPHONE PHONE WHICH WAS KNOCKED OVER CAUSING IT TO ROLL 3 TIMES. THE VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSS. DURING THE ACCIDENT NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. AS TRAUMATIC AS THE ACCIDENT WAS I FEEL THEY SHOULD OF WENT OFF.

ADDITIONALLY, THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE MANUFACTURER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM RELATED TO THE FUEL TANK INLET VALVE REPLACEMENT. THE REMEDY PART NEEDED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ON NOVEMBER 23, 2015. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,292. FUEL PUMP MODULE CORROSION CAUSING LEAKING FUEL AND FUEL VAPORS FROM THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. THIS IS DUE TO A DESIGN DEFECT AS THE FUEL PUMP MODULE SITS LOWER THAN THE HIGHEST POINT OF THE FUEL TANK AND MOISTURE AND DEBRIS ACCUMULATE ON TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP MODULE. THE TOP OF THE MODULE IS NOT MANUFACTURED WITH APPROPRIATE RUST-PROOFING MEASURES AND THE MATERIALS USED LEAVE IT PRONE TO RUSTING AND FAILURE, COMPROMISING THE SEAL AND ALLOWING FUEL TO ESCAPE FROM THE TANK. THIS POSES A FIRE HAZARD, ESPECIALLY IF FUEL IS ABLE TO REACH HEATED EXHAUST PIPES, ETC. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO A A GMC DEALERSHIP AND WAS DENIED REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE OR REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIR. THERE WAS A SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR THIS VEHICLE THAT HAS SINCE EXPIRED, PROVING THAT GM IS / WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. GIVEN THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE, THIS SHOULD BE ESCALATED TO RECALL STATUS DUE TO THE INHERENT SAFETY ISSUE AND FIRE RISK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTING TO EXIT, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS FAILED TO UNLOCK. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS BLINKED ON AND OFF AND FAILED TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,343. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE FUEL INLET SEAL ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK HAD SEPARATED CAUSING A SMELL OF FUEL AND ALLOWING MATTER TO ENTER THE FUEL TANK FROM THE TOP...POSSIBLY CAUSING THE PREMATURE FAILING OF THE FUEL PUMP. WE UNDERSTAND GMC HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE FOR THIS ISSUE TO 150,000 MILES. OUR VEHICLE HAD OVER 155,000 MILES WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURED BUT WE NEVER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM GMC OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. HAD WE RECEIVED THIS NOTIFICATION WE WOULD HAVE TAKEN IN THE VEHICLE FOR AN IMMEDIATE REPAIR. THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND WE HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW FUEL TANK (AS A RESULT OF THE FAULTY TOP SEAL) AND FUEL PUMP...COSTING US ALMOST $1,700. WE HAVE A COPY OF THE REPAIR BILL BUT I AM UNABLE TO SCAN AND UPLOAD IT HERE AT THIS TIME... I AM IN THE MILITARY AND WILL BE MOVING TO KOREA IN APRIL, 2016

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 192,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATED AND HESITATED TO RESPOND WHEN DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT ABNORMALLY SOFT WHEN APPLIED, WHICH REQUIRED A LONGER STOPPING DISTANCE. THE FAILURE BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I WAS IN A MVA JULY 22, 2015 I WAS TBONED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THE WENT HEADON WITH A LIGHT POLE AND MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL IN THE TRUCK SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK. IT WAS AN AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY AND I WASNT GIVEN ANY KNOWLEDGE OF PROBLEMS OR RECALLS. I SUFFERED EXTENSIVE INJURIES TO MY BODY AND MY TRUCK WAS A TOTAL LOSS $10000 IN DAMAGES TO THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS DAMP. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT HAD CORROSION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,991.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY 360. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE EMITTED A FUEL ODOR FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE FUEL TANK LEAKED FUEL NO MATTER HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN THE TANK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE DID NOT MEET WARRANTY GUIDELINES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,802.
I HAVE NO PROBLEM , BUT IN THE PAST I READ IN MY LOCAL PRESS THAT MY ENVOY WAS TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE OF FALLTY AIRBAGS. I NEED TO KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE ,AS I CONTUEING TO READ MANY OF GMC CARS ARE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
DEAR SIR/MADAM, I HAVE A 2003 GMC ENVOY SLT MODEL 4.2L V6 4WD AND AS I WAS BACKING INTO MY GARAGE I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND WHINNING NOISE AND I NOW HAVE NO REVERSE GEAR AND WHEN I SELECT THE DRIVE GEAR ON THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION I HAVE A WHINNING NOISE, I HAVE READ THE BLOGS ON THIS ISSUE AND I BELIEVE THAT GM AND GMC ARE VERY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, THIS REPAIR WILL COST ME UP TO $2,800.00 PLUS TAX TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REMOVED AND A RE-MANUFACTURED ON REPLACED ON MY VEHICLE. I WAS JUST GLAD THAT THIS MATTER HAPPENED AT MY RESIDENCE AND NOT ON SOME BACK ROAD IN WEST VA., I BELIEVE THAT AS STATED, GM AND GMC IS VERY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE 4L603 TRANSMISSION THAT WERE USED IN THESE VEHICLES' AND THE PROBLEM WITH THE SUN-SHELL AND THE REACTION SUN GEARS THAT ARE LIKE A GRENADE EXPLODING INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. I WOULD LIKE FOR A RECALL TO BE STARTED ON THIS PROBLEM AND THE OWNERS TO BE PAID BACK ON ALL OF THESE REPAIRS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION THAT WAS INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS. THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION DEFLATED ON BOTH SIDES ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BOTTOM OUT ON STOPS. UPDATED 07/08/15
DUE TO A BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE PROBLEM (OPEN/SHORTED CIRCUIT), THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGES AT ABOUT 8 MPH IN LOW SPEED STOPPING SITUATIONS ON WET AND DRY DRIVING SURFACES CAUSING TEMPORARY ENGINE STALLING AND POWER STEERING CONTROL LOSS AND LENGTHENED DISTANCE NEEDED TO STOP, INCREASING THE RISK OF CRASH.
I NOTICED A ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL WHILE DRIVING ON A SIDE STREET. THE ENGINE MADE AN UNUSUAL NOISE SO I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND PUT ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS. WHILE WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK, THE CAR STARTED WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION. THE CAR RAN FOR A SHORT TIME THEN STOPPED AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART ITSELF ABOUT 5 TIMES. OUR MECHANIC TOOK A LOOK AT IT AND SAID THERE HAD BEEN A FIRE IN THE FUSE BOX. I TOOK PICTURES OF THE CHARRED REMAINS OF THE FUSE BOX, COVER AND CONNECTORS. MOST OF THE PLASTIC CONNECTORS UNDER THE FUSE BOX COULD NOT BE REMOVED BECAUSE THEY HAD MELTED AND WERE FUSED ONTO THE BOX. HE NOTED THE FIRE SEEMED TO ORIGINATE FROM FUSE 46, THE HEADLAMP DRIVER MODULE. FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS, I HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING HEADLIGHT AND TAIL LIGHT ISSUES INVOLVING BULBS THAT WERE BURNING OUT FREQUENTLY OR WERE GOING OUT THEN COMING BACK ON.

WAS INSPECTING CAR AND HAD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS TO DEALERSHIP THAT FRONT END HAD A STRANGE NOISE WHEN WE GO OVER A ROUGH ROAD. WHILE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE FUEL SMELL IS COMING FROM I NOTICED A CRACK ON THE WELD NEXT TO THE SHOCK MOUNT . I ALSO NOTICED THAT THERE HAS BEEN A PREVIOUS REPAIR THERE BECAUSE WE HAVE HAD THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS NEW ALL I CAN THINK IS THAT THEY SAW THIS AND DID A REPAIR AND NOT TELLING US SO IF YOUR CAR IS CREAKING CHECK THE FRONT END COULD BE FALLING APART.
