I WENT INSIDE WAL-MART FOR MAYBE 1/2 HOUR AND WHEN I CAME OUT THE WINDOW WAS BUSTED OUT. WE THOUGHT SOME PUNK SMASHED THE WINDOW SO WE CALLED THE POLICE. THEY WATCHED THE VIDEO OF THE PARKING LOT AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NO ONE BY THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENED. I DON'T SEE HOW IT CAN JUST "MAGICALLY" SMASH INTO THOUSANDS OF PIECES WITH NO ONE AROUND BUT AFTER READING THROUGH OTHER COMPLAINTS I CAN SEE THAT I'M NOT ALONE. OF THE 202 COMPLAINTS ON HERE THERE ARE 10 (THIS MAKES 11) INCIDENCES WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED AND GMC IS NOT RECALLING THEM? I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND. IT IS GOING TO COST ME $500.00 FOR A BRAND NEW WINDOW AND IT IS A WEEK AND A HALF BEFORE CHRISTMAS. WE TRIED TO FIND ONE IN THE JUNKYARDS BUT THEY COST ALMOST AS MUCH AS A NEW ONE. I AM SO FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 GMC ENVOY XL AND HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH BEING LOSE AND NOT SHUTTING OFF ALL THE WAY WHEN THE KEY IS OUT AND JUST THE OTHER MORNING I WENT TO GO TO WORK AND MY CAR WOULD NOT START DUE TO THE IGNITION BEING STUCK IN THE ON POSITION AFTER I HAD PARKED MY CAR AND TOOK THE KEY OUT, I AM NOW AFRAID THAT WHILE I AM DRIVING THE IGNITION SWITCH IS GOING TO BE BUMPED INTO THE OFF POSITION AND CAUSE ME TO CRASH. *TR

THIS IS REGARDING THE "TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL. I AM NOT SURE HOW TO PROCEED WITH REPORTING MY VEHICLE AND GETTING PLACE ON A LIST FOR AIR BAG REPLACEMENT IN PHILADELPHIA, PA. *TR
I WAS OPENING THE REAR WINDOW TO RETRIEVE BELONGINGS WHEN THE WINDOW EXPLODED GLASS FRAGMENTS ALL OVER ME AS WELL AS THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS HURT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! *TR
HEADLIGHT SWITCH OVERHEATED AND CAUSED CIRCUIT PANEL TO CATCH ON FIRE. *TR
SMELL OF FUEL WHEN CAR IS RUNNING. WILL BE TAKING TO DEALERSHIP DID HAVE INJECTOR SEALS REPLACED HOPING THAT WAS PROBLEM DID NOT FIX . WORRIED THERE WILL BE FIRE . WHILE TRANSPORTING MY GRANDCHILD. WILL FOLLOW UP WITH MORE INFO BUT IT LOOKS LIKE FUEL TANK. *TR
I STARTED EXPERIENCING A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN THE VEHICLES WAS SHUT DOWN. WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THE ODOR I COULD NOT SEE ANY VISIBLE LEAKS UNDER THE VEHICLE, AFTER ABOUT A WEEK I STARTED NOTICING DRIPS OF FUEL UNDER THE VEHICLE. I CRAWLED UNDER THE VEHICLE TO FIND THE LEAK AND NOTICED A VERY FINE SPRAY OF GASOLINE COMING FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK. I THEN DROPPED THE FUEL TANK AND NOTICED THAT TUBE FROM THE FUEL PUMP WAS CORRODED TO THE POINT THAT IT WAS SPRAYING GASOLINE WHILE UNDER PRESSURE. THE FUEL PUMP IS LOCATED IN A LOW POINT ON THE TOP OF THE TANK WHICH ALLOWS FOR ROAD DEBRIS/SALT AND WATER TO SIT AND ERODE THESE TUBES ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AS ALL IT WOULD TAKE IS ANY FORM OF IGNITION TO CAUSE AN UNCONTROLLABLE FIRE. GM SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPAIR THIS UNDER A MANDATED RECALL DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
RIGHT REAR DOOR LOCK IS BROKE WILL NOT SHUT OR LOCK WE WERE AT THE STORE AND WHEN WE WENT BACK TO THE VEHICLE WENT TO SHUT THE DOOR AND THE LATCH WILL NOT CATCH AND SHUT THE DOOR. *TR
THE KEY FOB, USED TO UNLOCK THE CAR, WILL NOT UNLOCK THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I CAN HEAR A CLICKING NOISE LIKE THE LATCH IS TRYING TO DISENGAGE, BUT IT WILL NOT. THE REMEDY FOR THIS IS TO LEAVE THE WINDOW OPEN IN ORDER TO PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR OR TO WAIT AND CONTINUOUSLY PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON THE KEY FOB (THE LATCH INSIDE THE DOOR WILL EVENTUALLY UNLOCK THE CAR). *TR
ENVOY 360 SPEEDOMETERS 2004 READS IM GOING 150 MPH ALL THE TIME. *TR

WIFE MENTIONED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ( R.P.M . ) & ( VOLTAGE ) /W/ THE ( CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ) ARE ON. MILEAGE=APPROX :106,000 THIS IS A G.M.C FACTORY FLAW IN MANY ENVOYS BUILT . ELECTRICIAN ASLEEP AT THERE POSTS ON THIS ISSUE , AND SAID OTHERS TOO!! OTHER ISSUES ARE MINOR IN REPAIR AND USAGE DICTATED BY AGE , NOT A RECALL ITEM BUT LISTED ANYWAY FOR VIEWING. SEAT--ELECTRICAL-DRIVER SIDE- FRONT LEFT FACING LIFT BRACKET ARM-- BROKE AT WELD .CAN BE REPAIRED. CENTER FLOOR FRONT CONSOLE --LOOSE ? NOT YET INVESTIGATED AS TO WHY. REAR BACK HATCH FLOOR CARPET RUINED BY FORMER OWNERS --UNKNOWN SPILL ATE CARPETING LIKE BATTERY ACID SPILL.? OTHER THEN A FEW MINOR GLITCHES IN A ( NOTE ) ( USED ) VEHICLE ...WE CAN HANDLE IT. FOLLOWING AN INDEPENDENCE DAY BASEBALL GAME AND FIREWORKS DISPLAY, I WENT TO THE PARKING LOT TO LOAD MY FAMILY AND SOME PERSONAL BELONGINGS. I OPENED THE REAR HATCH AND FELT A SLIGHT BAULKING ON THE RIGHT SIDE. IN THE NEXT FRACTION OF A SECOND A SHOT GUN SOUND WENT OFF AND THE WINDOW EXPLODED IN MY FACE RAINING HEAVY GLASS INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR AND THE PARKING LOT. MIRACULOUSLY, I RECEIVED ONLY A MINOR CUT ACROSS MY EYEBROW, BUT A LARGE CHUNK WAS CUT OUT OF THE THUMB OF MY RIGHT HAND FOR WHICH I HAD TO GO TO URGENT CARE AND MAY HAVE TO CONSULT WITH A PLASTIC SURGEON AS IT HEALS/ SCARS IN ORDER TO RETAIN FLEXIBILITY IN MY THUMB. *TR
POWER STEERING HAS BEEN LEAKING. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TO FIND IT HAS TWO LEAKS. ONE IN THE RETURN LINE ON TOP OF WHERE THE WHEEL WELL IS (UNDER A BIG PIECE OF RUBBER HOLDING IT TO THE FRAME), AND ONE IN THE POWER STEERING COOLER. *TR
MECHANIC SAID FUEL RAIL RUPTURED DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR AND LEAKED GASOLINE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE INJURING OCCUPANTS. REPAIRS COST 1400DOLLARS
MY DRIVER SIDE LOCKS AND WINDOW CONTROLS HAVE CEASED TO OPERATE. EVIDENTLY FLUID MAY ENTER THE DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE, CAUSING CORROSION THAT COULD RESULT IN A SHORT CIRCUIT IN THE DOOR MODULE WHICH CAUSED THE POWER DOOR LOCK AND POWER WINDOW SWITCHES TO BECOME INOPERATIVE. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE SHORT MAY ALSO CAUSE OVERHEATING, WHICH COULD MELT COMPONENTS OF THE DOOR MODULE, PRODUCING AN ODOR, SMOKE, OR A FIRE. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND THERE IS A RECALL FROM GM AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE, IF IT IS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY, A PROTECTIVE COATING WILL BE APPLIED. IF THE MODULE IS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY, IT WILL BE REPLACED. THE GM RECALL NUMBER IS 12180. I CALLED GM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT ALTHOUGH THIS EXACT PROBLEM IS HAPPENING TO MY AUTOMOBILE...MY CAR IS NOT COVERED. I AM AFRAID THAT MY CAR WILL CATCH ON FIRE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,134.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE REAR DOORS WERE CORRODED WHICH CAUSED THE DOORS NOT TO LATCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 208,000.
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY XL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR PANEL MALFUNCTIONED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FRONT DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK AND THE REAR DOORS WOULD ONLY LOCK BY USING THE KEY FOB. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DOOR LOCKS, WINDOWS, POWER MIRROR ADJUSTER AND THE HEATED SEATS FAILED TO WORK INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SWITCH PANEL ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 13V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND VISIBILITY). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MAINLY IN WET WEATHER, DASHBOARD ALERTS CHIME AND LIGHTS FLASH. DOESN'T STOP UNTIL WEATHER IS BETTER. I'M AFRAID THERE IS A SHORT SOMEWHERE. BOUGHT VEHICLE IN DECEMBER, 2013. DEALER WON'T HELP. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. PLEASE ADVISE. I CAN'T FIND A RECALL REGARDING THIS. BUT HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND REVIEWS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS WHEN I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE IT WAS WINTER AT THE TIME. VERY FRUSTRATED AND UNHAPPY. *TR
GMC IS SUPPOSE TO BE QUALITY HOWEVER, THE REAR SUSPENSION STARTS OUT GETTING LOWER AND LOWER UNTIL THE REAR SUSPENSION DROPPED TO THE POINT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO BE DRIVEN. BECAUSE THE TRUCK WAS SITTING ON THE REAR TIRES AND IF THE VEHICLE WERE TO BE DRIVEN, THE TIRES WOULD BLOW OUT AND CAUSE A CRASH AND POSSIBLY A FATALITY! THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINT AND CONCERNS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE YET NOTHING IS BEING DONE. *TR
IT STARTED WITH ENGINE MISFIRING CAUSING ENGINE TO JOLT WHICH DAMAGED #4 COIL PACK SEAL TO FAILED ALLOWING WATER INTRUSION. IN 2008, THE GMC MECHANIC REPLACED ALL SIX COILS SEALS BUT IN 2013-PRESENT P0440 ENGINE CODE IS A LEAK IN THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP). LOOSE FUEL TANK FILLER CAP IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE THAT TRIGGERS THE P0440 CODE. I FAILED A FEW SMOG CHECK SPENDING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS YET MY PROBLEM STILL EXISTENCE. I'VE CONTACTED THE BUREAU OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR BECAUSE PURRFECT AUTO IN FULLERTON,CA LIED ABOUT FIXING MY CAR. THE BAR MADE PURRFECT AUTO REPLACE THE GAS TANK AND GAS CAP YET THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON DISPLAYING CODE P0440. ITS BEEN 14 YEARS AND I'M STILL DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM.
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE ENVOY AT ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN A DRUNK DRIVER PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC, CAUSING EVERYONE TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES, AND MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP IN TIME BEFORE REAR-ENDING ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CAR IS TOTALED BUT THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. *JS
WHERE THE TOP OF THE NESK OF THE FUEL TANK MEETS THE FUEL PUMP IT IS BROKEN WHERE THE 2 MEET. FUEL VAPORS, AS WELL AS ACTUAL FUEL LEAKING ON THE GROUND R BOTH PRESENT. STATIONARY , AS WELL AS, IN MOTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. THE REPAIRS DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE INDEPENDENT DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
THE LIFT GATE WARNING LIGHT MALFUNCTIONING SAYS GATE OPEN AND ISN'T LIGHT DOESN'T GO OFF. *TR
SMELLING OF GAS AND LEAKING ON GROUND, AS I'M READING THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WHICH IS VERY SERIOUS. I REALLY THINK GM NEEDS TO INCLUDE THIS 2003 GMC ENVOY AS PART OF THEIR RECALL AS WELL. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS IT LOOKS LIKE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN RECALLED. GUESS HUMAN LIFE IS NOT IMPORTANT.GM NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. *TR
ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING OF THE ENVOY SLT 2003 WAS COMPLETELY INTERRUPTED DUE TO A BROKEN SHAFT IN THE POWER STEERING PUMP. AS A RESULT THE SERPENTINE BELT SLIPPED ON THE EDGE OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY AND WAS WEARING OUT QUICKLY, WHICH WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A BROKEN BELT. *TR
DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 75MPH, GAS GAUGE WENT COMPLETELY DOWN TO E WITH A FULL TANK. THE NEEDLE WAS BASICALLY READING IN THE SAME POSITION AS WHEN IT IS IN THE OFF POSITION. AFTER THAT HAPPENED THE VEHICLE SPEEDOMETER STARTED READING INCORRECT SPEEDS I WILL BE AT A DEAD STOP AND AT A STOP LIGHT AND MY SPEEDOMETER WILL BE READING 75 MPH STUCK. I KNOW THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN 2007 APPROXIMATELY AND LISTED CERTAIN GM VEHICLES BUT THIS ONE WAS NOT INCLUDED. I THINK THAT GM NEEDS TO LOOK AT THIS AFFECTING OTHER MODELS AND MAKES THEY REPLACED SOME VEHICLES WITH THIS ISSUE AND THE PROBLEM LIES WITH THE STEP MOTOR IN THE CLUSTER GAUGE. IF YOU TAKE THE GM DEALERSHIP THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU $500 DOLLARS TO REPAIR ON A ISSUE THAT IS BEING REPLACED ON OTHER MODELS. PLEASE PLEASE GET THIS TO BE RECALL THIS IS A ISSUE THAT WILL CAUSE SOMEONE TO GET HURT VERY BAD IN A ACCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE TRAVELED DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE ARMS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING FROM A DRIVEWAY, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED AS THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO BECAME HARD TO TURN. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING OVER A FOUR MONTH PERIOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO MADE UNKNOWN REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129345.
THE SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE, AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGE FIRST STARTED FLUCTUATING THEN EVENTUALLY STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THE DRIVERS DOOR PANEL HAS COMPLETELY WENT OUT. IT SMELT LIKE SOMETHING WAS BURNING BUT THERE WASN'T A FIRE. I'VE HAD BOTH SITUATIONS CHECKED OUT AND THE MECHANIC STATES THIS IS VERY COMMON IN THE ENVOYS AND TRAILBLAZERS BUT IT IS STILL AT MY EXPENSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR INTERIOR PANEL WAS DAMAGED AND EXPOSING WIRES. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO UNABLE TO OPEN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR BECAUSE THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,776.
DROVE TO WORK SATURDAY NIGHT 12/07/2013 PARKED CAR AT 7:30 PM WENT IN TO WORK .CAME OUT TO MY CAR AT 10:00PM FOR BREAK TO SEE MY CAR SMOKING THE PASSENGERS HEATED SEAT TURNED IT'S SELF ON AT SOME POINT AND WAS ON FIRE BURNING THE SEAT AND MY COOLER THAT WAS SITTING ON THE SEAT WAS ON FIRE AND SMOKE FILLED THE CAR WAS MAKING IT HARD TO BREATH THE SMOKE WAS THICK AND SMELLED TOXIC. ME AND MY FELLOW EMPLOYEES DUMPED SNOW ON AND UNDER THE SEAT FROM AS FAR,AWAY AS WE COULD TILL THE SMOKE CALMED DOWN.TO GET THE FIRE OUT.I AM SO GRATEFUL I WAS NOT DRIVING OR THERE WAS NO PERSON SITTING ON THE SEAT AT THE TIME COULD OF CAUSED ME TO WRECK MYSELF OR OTHERS.ON MY DRIVE HOME COULD NOT USE THE HEAT DUE TO THE FUMES BEING TO STRONG WITH THE WINDOWS UP AND HEAT ON HAD TO DRIVE WITH NO HEAT AND WINDOWS DOWN 40 MINUTES WITH THE TEMPS IN THE TEENS. *TR
ON 12/5/2013, I LEFT THE SCHNUCKS GROCERY STORE AROUND 4PM FOR HOME. WHEN I ARRIVED AT HOME, I BACKED IN THE GARAGE AND MY HUSBAND WAS WAITING AT THE GARAGE DOOR FOR ME SO HE COULD GET THE GROCERIES. AS I WAS GETTING OUT OF MY 2003 GMC ENVOY XL, MY HUSBAND WAS GETTING THE GROCERIES AND STARTED TO TELL ME SOMETHING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD THIS EXTREMELY LOUD POP/EXPLOSION (LIKE A GUN SHOT) AND GLASS SHATTERED EVERYWHERE. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND IMMEDIATELY ASKED MY HUSBAND IF HE WAS OK. THE SHATTERED GLASS HAD CUT HIM ON HIS FOREHEAD. THERE WAS GLASS SHATTERED EVERYONE IN THE SUV, IN MY GROCERIES, IN THE GARAGE, IN MY HUSBAND'S HOODIE, AND EVEN ON MY 2013 CHARGER NEXT TO IT. THE HINGES WERE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ENVOY WITH SOME HANGING GLASS STILL ATTACHED. AND WHAT'S EVEN MORE SHOCKING IS THAT THE REAR BROKEN WINDOW KEPT POPPING AT THE HINGES AND PIECES OF REMAINING GLASS WOULD CONTINUE TO BREAK OFF AND DROP. I CONTACTED GM ABOUT THE VEHICLE TO REPLACE MY WINDOW AND TO TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED, BUT THEY SAID THAT SINCE I HAVE 137,000MILES AND HAD THE VEHICLE TEN YEARS, IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY. I TOLD THEM THAT WAS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE IT SHOULD NOT MATTER WHETHER IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY IF THE VEHICLE GM MADE IS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY ENVOY UNTIL NOW. I'M PURSUING MATTERS FURTHER SO THEY HAVE NOT HEARD THE LAST FROM ME. I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ALSO CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE GM HAS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. I WILL ALSO BE CONTACTING THE PRESIDENT OF THE GM COMPANY BECAUSE MY HUSBAND COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT AND THEY NEED TO INCUR THE COSTS OF REPAIRS, NOT ME. *TR

WHEN THE WEATHER GOT BELOW FREEZING, THE AIR BAG SUSPENSION WOULD NOT AIR UP. NOW, EVERY TIME I TURN OFF MY CAR, THE SUSPENSION GOES DOWN AND IT WILL NOT AIR BACK UP UNTIL I TURN THE CAR BACK ON. IF I HAVE PASSENGERS IN THE BACK SEAT THE SUSPENSION WILL NOT WORK. SEVERAL TIMES THE SUSPENSION HAS DEFLATED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND IF I'M GOING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHAKE AND WOBBLE BACK AND FORTH. IT IS VERY SCARY AND I DON'T EVEN LIKE HAVING MY KIDS IN THE CAR BECAUSE IT SEEMS SO DANGEROUS. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT OTHER ENVOY OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLES MANUAL SWITCH FOR 2HI,AWD,4HI,4LOW. THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE USED VEHICLE FROM FIXED THE ISSUE RIGHT AFTER PURCHASE AND I'M HAVING ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THE SWITCH. I TRY TO SELECT ANYTHING BESIDES 2HI AND THE SELECTOR WILL JUST CONTINUE TO BLINK ON THE SELECTION WITHOUT ANY ACTION. SOMETIMES THE SERVICE 4WD WILL ILLUMINATE ON THE DASH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, HE SLIGHTLY CRASHED INTO A CURB AND THE VEHICLE TURNED OVER IN A DITCH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK AND LOWER BACK INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY CAR IS REAPING WITH THE SMELL OF GAS ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER CARE CENTER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEING HAZARDOUS AND ALL THEY OFFERED WAS A $150 VOUCHER AVAILABLE AT THE GMC DEALERSHIP. I AM CONFUSED AS TO WHY 2006/2007 MODELS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS MATTER AND THE 2003 MODEL WAS NOT RECALLED. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT WILL EXPLODE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ODOR OF GASOLINE FUEL WAS PRESENT INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED A FUEL LEAK FROM THE TOP DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FUEL LEAK ONLY OCCURRED WHEN THE ENGINE WAS POWERED ON. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL TANK WOULD LEAK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. I SMELL GAS ALL THE TIME WHEN I AM DRIVING
DRIVING IN A SCHOOL ZONE LOOKED AT SPEEDOMETER TO CHECK SPEED I WAS IN A 40 MPH ZONE AND SPEEDOMETER SAID I WAS DOING 70 MPH. SCHOOL ZONE HAD A " YOUR SPEED IS" DISPLAY AND I WAS ONLY GOING 38 MPH. THE SPEEDOMETER INCREASED AS I INCREASED SPEED BUT WAS 30 MPH OVER. AFTER I GOT HOME AND TURNED MY TRUCK OFF THE SPEEDOMETER STILL SHOWED MPH. *JB
I WAS DROPPING MY BOAT OFF AT THE LOCAL STORAGE YARD WHERE I KEEP IT. I OPENED THE REAR HATCH OF MY ENVOY TO GET A BUCKET OUT OF THE INSIDE WHERE I KEEP THE BOAT'S ACCESSORIES.. THE HATCH WAS OPEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES WHEN IT EXPLODED AND RAINED GLASS ALL OVER ME AND INTO MY RIGHT EYE. IT SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN WENT OFF, BUT I WAS THE ONLY PERSON AROUND. APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR EARLIER, THE CHMSL PLASTIC FLEW OFF ON THE HIGHWAY ALMOST HITTING ANOTHER CAR THAT SWERVED TO AVOID IT BEHIND ME. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AS I HAVE COME TO FIND OUT AND GM HAS REDESIGNED THE BACK DOOR . MINE SITS IN THE DRIVEWAY AND I AM NOT ABOUT TO SPEND 700 ON GLASS SO IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN AND POSSIBLY HURT SOMEONE ELSE. *JS
AFTER SIX MONTHS HAVING PURCHASED THIS USED VEHICLE FROM A LOCAL DEALER, I NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, NOR WERE THE POWER WINDOW DEVICES, CONTROLS, POWER LOCKS AND ALSO THE VISIBILITY OF DRIVER'S REAR WINDOW. I NOTICED THAT THE DOOR WOULD OVERHEAT AND SOMETIMES I CAN SMELL AN ODOR SIMILAR TO WHEN SOMETHING IS BURNING. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC AND FINDING THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DIFFICULT. ON JUNE 2013, I READ ON THE MSN WEBSITE THAT THE GMC ENVOYS FOR 2006 AND 2007 WERE BEING RECALLED (RECALL #13V248000) IN REGARDS TO DRIVER'S MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH. SINCE I AM HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM, WITH MY 2003 ENVOY, I CALLED GMC AND EXPLAINED TO HER THAT I AM HAVING THAT SAME ISSUE WITH MY 2003 ENVOY. SHE INDICATED THAT GMC WOULD PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE LABOR EVEN THOUGH MY CAR'S MILEAGE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR 2006 & 2007 ENVOYS. SHE CONNECTED ME TO [XXX] FOR AN APPT. WITH BALISE THE FOLLOWING DAY. SHE ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER 71-1219059371. THE FOLLOWING DAY, AUGUST 28, 2013, I WENT TO MY APPOINTMENT AT 11 AM. AND LEFT MY CAR. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER, I GET A CALL FROM GMC INDICATING TO ME THAT SHE WAS SORRY, BUT THAT GMC COULD NOT COVER THE COST OF DIAGNOSTIC FEE LABOR. I SAID, "THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU TOLD ME YESTERDAY" AND SHE REPLIED, "I AM SORRY, I WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO TELL YOU THAT". I SAID TO HER, "I WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN TIME OFF FROM WORK, ASK FOR A RIDE, BE WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION IF YOU HAD TOLD ME THAT BEFORE". I ALSO SAID TO HER, "HOW CAN YOU TELL ME YOU ARE COVERING THE COST YESTERDAY AND TODAY CHANGE YOUR MIND". ALL SHE RESPONDED WAS, "I AM SORRY". I ASKED TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR BY THE NAME OF [XXX] AND THE SUPERVISOR JUST SAID THAT HER EMPLOYEE WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO SAY TO ME THAT GMC WOULD COVER THE COST. I STILL HAVE THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
