VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND IN DRIVE WHEN IT HAD A UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION RESULTING IN A COLLISION WITH A GARAGE WHERE IT WAS BEING PARKED. EXTENSIVE DAMAGE RESULTED TO THE HOME AND VEHICLE. NO INJURIES.
ACCELERATING WHILE ENTERING A FREEWAY, TOOK FOOT OFF THE GAS AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. APPLIED BRAKE BUT VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. PUT VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL TO TRY AND SLOW DOWN AND AGAIN APPLIED BRAKE. VEHICLE BEGAN TO SPIN TO THE RIGHT AND WE HIT THE GUARD RAIL, HITTING THE PASSENGER REAR BUMPER AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT BUMPER. SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CAR SPUN INTO THE MIDDLE TRAVEL LANE AND BEGAN TO SPIN AROUND. CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN AND WAS ABLE TO TURN CAR OFF. FORTUNATELY NO OTHER CARS WERE INVOLVED. AN OFF DUTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTY STOPPED AND SAID HE NOTICED SMOKE AND THOUGHT THE CAR WAS ON FIRE BUT NO FIRE OCCURRED. WHEN STATE POLICE ARRIVED THEY ASKED US TO MOVE THE CAR TO THE BREAK DOWN LANE. WAS ABLE TO PUT CAR IN REVERSE AND BACKED CAR TO BREAKDOWN LANE. TRIED TO PUT CAR IN DRIVE BUT CAR WOULDN'T GO FORWARD. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2005 GMC ENVOY HAS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY & ALSO THE THERMOSTAT GAUGE & THE GAS GAUGE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG ENVOY OWNER'S & IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDS TO BE RECALLED & REPLACED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING I LOOKED DOWN TO CHECK MY SPEED AND WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THE SPEEDOMETER READING 120 MPH. WHILE DOING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUIT THAT WAS SETTLED IN 2008 BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE WAS NOT LISTED AS COVERED IN THE SUIT. I FEEL IT SHOULD BE COVERED AS MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THE ONES COVERED IN THE SETTLEMENT. UNDER THE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT GM WOULD PROVIDE THE CLUSTER AT NO COST TO ME AND I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LABOR COST.
2005 GMC ENVOY XL 64,900 MILES. SPEEDOMETER ERRATIC OPERATION. SINCE FIRST INCIDENT, SYMPTOMS UNDER VARYING DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE; SPEEDOMETER ERRONEOUSLY INDICATES TOO LOW A SPEED, SPEEDOMETER INDICATES TOO HIGH A SPEED, SPEEDOMETER INDICATION STICKS AT A FIXED SPEED WITH CHANGING VEHICLE SPEED.
2005 GMC ENVOY INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER PROMBLEMS GAS GAGE PPROBLEM
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 GMC ENVOY. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE ON 3/10/07 THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND DECELERATED ON ITS OWN. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COMPUTER WAS UPGRADED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SURGES FORWARD. THIS OCCURS EVEN IF THE BRAKE PEDAL OR ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND TRYING TO DETERMINE A REMEDY. UPDATED 04/11/06. *JB
